Israel police and Palestinians clash at
Temple Mount in Jerusalem
– Nir Hasson –
www.haaretz.com
Police use stun grenades to disperse crowd
after Palestinians lob stones; order quickly restored, no one injured.
Police have entered a sensitive Jerusalem
holy site to disperse Palestinian protesters who were hurling stones on
Friday.
The scene of Friday's violence was the Old
City compound known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as the Noble
Sanctuary.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said
police entered the compound after Palestinians began lobbing stones at
security forces stationed outside one of the gates. He says police used stun
grenades to disperse the crowd.
Rosenfeld says no one was injured and that
order was quickly restored.
The holy compound is one of the most
combustible sites on earth, and clashes there in the past have ignited
broader violence.
A Muslim clerical body runs the compound
under Israel's overall security control.
IDF identifies thousands of Hezbollah sites
in Lebanon – Yaakov Katz
–
www.jpost.com
Senior officer tells 'Post' that "target
bank" many times larger than on eve of Second Lebanon War; says Hezbollah
has some 50,000 missiles.
The IDF has identified thousands of
Hezbollah sites throughout Lebanon, making its “target bank” many times
larger than it was in 2006 on the eve of the Second Lebanon War, a senior
IDF officer told The Jerusalem Post ahead of the fifth anniversary of the
start of the conflict.
According to the officer, the IDF had
approximately 200 pre-designated targets on July 12, 2006, when Hezbollah
set off the war by abducting reservists Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser.
Those targets included close to 100 homes and other storage sites where the
Islamist group had deployed long-range missiles it received from Iran. The
targets were destroyed on the first night of the war.
Today the bank has thousands more sites
throughout Lebanon that would constitute legitimate targets in the event of
a future war with Hezbollah, the officer told the Post. Earlier this year,
the IDF released a map showing 950 locations scattered across the country –
a majority of them bunkers and surveillance sites.
According to the officer, Hezbollah is also
believed to have passed the 50,000 mark in the number of rockets and
missiles it has obtained. Most of these weapons are stored in some 100
villages around southern Lebanon.
“Our intelligence is much better today than
it was five years ago,” the officer said of the growing target bank.
In recent months, OC Northern Command
Maj.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkot and Col. Assaf Orayun, head of the Planning
Directorate’s Strategic Planning Division, have briefed senior diplomats as
part of an effort to convince the United Nations to strengthen UNIFIL’s
mandate, and enable it to operate independently within southern Lebanese
villages.
UNIFIL’s mandate will be up for extension
in August, and the IDF is hoping that by raising awareness of Hezbollah’s
growing presence in these villages it might succeed in getting the UN to
enforce a tougher mandate.
Currently, peacekeeping troops who want to
enter villages need to coordinate their moves with the Lebanese Armed Forces
(LAF), which in many cases warns Hezbollah.
“UNIFIL is doing an effective job in open
areas, and for that reason we don’t really see Hezbollah positions there,”
the officer said. “Instead, Hezbollah is based inside villages, since UNIFIL
cannot go there freely.”
An investigation into a bomb attack against
Italian UNIFIL soldiers last month is continuing. Hezbollah and a
Palestinian group affiliated with al- Qaida have blamed each other for the
attack, which injured six peacekeepers.
On Thursday, the Beirut-based Daily Star
reported that Hezbollah had uncovered two car bombs in southern Beirut.
Meanwhile, two months after warnings were
received of a Hezbollah plan to strike at an Israeli target overseas, the
attack appears to have been foiled – for the time being.
Hezbollah’s desire to lash out at Israel
was sparked by the 2008 assassination of Imad Mughniyeh, the group’s
military commander in Damascus.
Hezbollah blames the Mossad, and reportedly
has tried to carry out revenge attacks several times.
According to foreign reports, such attacks
were thwarted by security services in Azerbaijan, Thailand and Sinai in
2008, and in Turkey in 2009.
In April, ahead of the Pessah holiday,
security officials took the rare step of revealing the names of senior
Hezbollah operatives planning another attack.
For now, the moves seem to have deterred
Hezbollah from carrying it out.
Defense officials said that Hezbollah would
prefer to attack an overseas Israeli target – an embassy, an El Al plane or
a consulate – as opposed to a border attack, as it would afford a level of
deniability.
The security sources named Hezbollah
operative Talal Hamia as commander of the small but well-organized unit,
which also includes his bodyguard, Ahmed Faid, and Hezbollah’s top bomb
expert, Ali Najan al-Din. Hamia was allegedly involved in the 1992 and 1994
bombings in Buenos Aires that targeted the Israeli Embassy and the AMIA
Jewish community center.
Another member of the cell, Majd al-Zakur,
is referred to as “the forger” and is responsible for preparing fake
passports.
The cell is being aided by businessmen,
among them a Lebanese cellphone salesman and a Turkish national.
‘Iran caught 10 times trying to send arms
to terrorists' – Yaakov
Katz –
www.jpost.com
'Jerusalem Post' obtains report submitted
to UNSC detailing Iran's arms smuggling to Hamas, Taliban; reveals regime's
clandestine missile tests.
Iran has been caught red-handed in 10
different attempts in recent years to transfer weaponry to terrorists
throughout the Middle East, including a recent case, in April, when a
shipment of advanced missiles was caught en-route to Taliban forces in
Afghanistan, according to a United Nations report obtained Thursday by The
Jerusalem Post.
The report was submitted three weeks ago to
the Security Council by a UN group of experts that monitors compliance with
UN sanctions imposed on Iran. The report was leaked to the Internet and
obtained by a number of leading Israeli defense analysts.
The report documents all 10 cases of arms
smuggling, including the case of the Victoria cargo ship, which was stopped
by the Israel Navy earlier this year carrying arms for Hamas. In the most
recent case cited, British forces in Afghanistan found a weapons shipment of
advanced Iranian-made anti-ship missiles and 122 mm. rockets en route to
Taliban forces in Afghanistan.
In March, Turkish authorities stopped an
Iranian cargo plane bound for Syria. At the time, Turkey tried to downplay
the news, but the UN report reveals that authorities discovered dozens of
AK-47 assault rifles and close to 2,000 mortar shells. The report confirms
that the arms originated in Iran and were supplied by the Revolutionary
Guard Corps.
The report further reveals that Iran test
fired two of its most advanced long-range missiles – the Shihab 3 and the
Sajil – in February.
The tests were not reported at the time by
the Iranians, or by the United States or Israel, both of which track such
missile launches.
Tal Inbar, head of the Space Research
Center at the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies, analyzed
the UN report and said the missile tests were significant since Iran was
making efforts to hide its ballistic missile program, something that raises
suspicions about the nature of the program and its connection to the Islamic
Republic’s illicit nuclear drive.
“For a number of years, they have been
trying to display shorter-range rockets like the Qiyam and the Fateh 110,”
Inbar said. “In the most recent military parade, they did not even did not
even show the Shihab.”
The report, which also discusses the
regular exchange of ballistic missile technology between Iran and North
Korea, said financial sanctions appeared to be having an effect on Tehran,
as demonstrated by “the range of measures taken by Iran to circumvent them.”
“These measures are expensive and
time-consuming to set up and administer. They include arrangements to enable
sanctioned Iranian banks to maintain access to the international financial
sector through normal business conducted by non-sanctioned Iranian banks,”
the report said. “Nevertheless, despite financial restrictions, Iran appears
able to continue to pay for procurement from abroad for its prohibited
nuclear and ballistic missile programs.”
UN report: Iran accelerating development of
long-range missiles –
Amos Harel –
www.haaretz.com
Monitors sent to various countries uncover
and document unauthorized activity by Iranian officials.
A report by a panel of experts convened by
the United Nations reveals that over the past year Iran has stepped up the
pace of its efforts to develop long-range missiles.
The report by the panel, which was convened
a year ago after the UN Security Council imposed stiffer sanctions against
Iran in an effort to halt the Iranian nuclear program, has not been
officially released. In a campaign led by the United States, the United
Nations has shown concern over Iran's development of medium- and long-range
missiles in addition to the nuclear program itself. Iran's efforts to
develop missiles have therefore been monitored along with Iranian
weapons-smuggling operations.
In developing its findings, the UN panel of
experts relied on information provided by member nations of the Security
Council as well as monitors sent to various countries where unauthorized
Iranian activity has been uncovered, plus additional input from outside
experts.
The report, which has apparently also been
obtained by intelligence agencies in the West, was compiled several months
ago. It appears that pressure from China resulted in the delay in officially
releasing it. The report cites apparently reliable information indicating
that the North Koreans transferred prohibited missile technology to Iran via
China.
The report says the trials on the Shahab-3
missile demonstrated a range of 900 kilometers, while the Sejil-1 had a
2,000-kilometer reach. The experts determined that, as with its nuclear
program, Iran continues to engage in covert operations to advance its
missile capabilities, bypassing sanctions imposed by the UN.
United Nations sanctions are impeding
Iranian efforts to develop long-range missiles as well as the country's
nuclear program, the panel says. Nonetheless, the report warns: "Iran's
circumvention of sanctions across all areas, in particular the use of front
companies, concealment methods in shipping, financial transactions and the
transfer of conventional arms and related materiel, is willful and
continuing. Iran maintains its uranium enrichment and heavy water-related
activities, as noted in reporting by the International Atomic Energy Agency,
and in the area of ballistic missiles, continues to test missiles and engage
in prohibited procurement."
The report also casts Syria in a negative
light as a partner in Iranian efforts to acquire and smuggle weapons. For
years, Israel has been shining the spotlight on Iranian efforts to develop
long-range missiles, some of which are capable of not only hitting targets
in Israel but in Europe as well. Some Europeans, notably recently Russia,
have shown an interest in reining in the potential threat posed to Europe by
Iranian missiles.
While Iran is boasting of its technological
progress in a number of military fields, at times producing exaggerated and
misleading data, it has recently downplayed its long-range missile
capabilities. One reason for this is apparently the sanctions imposed on it,
along with the disagreement in the international community over Iran's true
capabilities in this respect.
According to the report, in a period of
less than six months, the Iranians launched Sejil and Shahab 3 missiles -
some of which had a range of more than 1,000 kilometers - on three
occasions.
One of Israel's leading missile experts,
Uzi Rubin, who has obtained a copy of the final report by the panel of
experts, told Haaretz that to the best of his understanding, the information
in the report on missile testing in Iran is reliable. Rubin, who previously
headed the defense establishment's "Homa" missile-interception project,
called the pace of Iranian testing "amazing in scope."
Concurrent with the long-range missile
testing, the Iranians conducted an additional trial of the Fateh-110 missile
over a medium range of about 200 kilometers. These missiles were also
provided in recent years to Hezbollah, and have the capacity to hit the Tel
Aviv area and points south if launched from Lebanon, with greater precision
than Hezbollah had at its disposal during the 2006 Second Lebanon War.
Failed Middle East policies have Israel's
enemies closing in on them
- - By Bill Koenig –
www.watch.org
The Arab Spring, the turmoil throughout the
Middle East, and Israel's recent deals with Russia do not bode well for
Israel.
How do we know this? We know this because
of the prophecies of Ezekiel, Isaiah, Daniel, Joel, Zechariah, Revelation
and many other books of the Bible.
Israeli citizens have a great fear of being
isolated once again as they were during the time of the Holocaust, so they
are willing to take risks for peace. I have heard that from Israeli
officials and those in the media.
During our trip to Israel, I heard, "We are
willing to take the risk, due to our fear of isolation." Israel even took
the risk of doing joint ventures with Russia — obviously in an attempt to
affect its influence over Israel's enemies.
The Christian support of Israel is much
appreciated and needed as the Middle East and the world closes in on Israel,
but it won't be enough. The God of Israel will have to intervene, as the
Bible says.
The United States' $1.3 trillion wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq have not made the region safer — quite the contrary, as
you will be see below. Iraq and Afghanistan are two of the four most corrupt
nations in the world according to Transparency International's annual
corruption index.
The United States is building the
Afghanistan military and police forces, in which nine out of 10 recruits are
unable to read or write. The training is so most of U.S. and NATO troops can
leave by December 2014, according to Gen. Bill Caldwell at a Council on
Foreign Relations meeting on Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
Former National Security Advisor Gen. James
Jones says a major concern is not only Iran but Pakistan also.
Iraq's military is a "rag-tag" militia
thanks to decisions by the G.W. Bush Administration. It will be incapable to
stand up against Iran and other outside militias when the United States
leaves Iraq, and many Iraqis in power want the United States military out of
the country by the end of 2011, with no extensions or exceptions.
Moreover, the U.S.- and Canadian-trained
Palestinian Fatah police force and its American weapons could very likely
come under the control of Hamas.
Israel has a great concern that hundreds of
thousands Arabs could descend on its borders in protest, as happened in
Tafir Square in Cairo in late January after the September elections in
Egypt.
The new Egyptian government is expected to
be led by the Muslim Brotherhood, which would eventually install Sharia law
and turn on Israel.
U.S. President Barack Obama and other world
leaders want to see Syrian President Basher Assad step down, which could
lead to more unrest on Israel's northern border. Assad is not perfect by any
stretch, but the border for the most part has been quiet and secure.
The new Lebanese government led by Iranian
proxy Hezbollah continues to arm itself with rockets and missiles in
preparation for an eventual war with Israel.
The once good relationship Israel had with
Turkey and, especially, its military has taken a dramatic turn for the
worse, due to Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan and his Islamic allies within
the country. He sees himself as one of the future leaders of the Middle
East.
Iran is attempting to torment Israel by
bringing military ships through the Suez Canal. It is planning to establish
a port in Latkia, Syria, and has recently sent submarines into the Red Sea.
Iranian president Ahmadinejad said this week no offer from world powers
could persuade Iran to stop enriching uranium.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman
warned this week, "The U.S. and 'the Zionist regime' are scheming in a bid
to prompt military and domestic conflicts in the Middle East."
"The Americans believe that the first and
immediate outcome of a military conflict in the region will be the salvaging
of the Zionist regime," Ramin Mehman-Parast said in a convention in Tehran.
The U.S. is "eager to push the Islamic
Republic into a military confrontation in the region," he said, but added
that Tehran will offer a harsh response to any act of belligerence against
it.
In January, Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu spoke just days after Egypt's regime collapsed and the Arab world
went into revolt, saying that the Israeli military is "ready for all
eventualities" as the Arab and Muslim world undergoes "an earthquake."
Speaking at a swearing-in ceremony for new
Army Chief Major General Benny Gantz, Netanyahu said "An earthquake is
shaking the whole Arab world and a large part of the Muslim world, and we
don't yet know how these things will turn out."
He also said during a ceremony at his
Jerusalem office, "We are ready for all eventualities because we know that
the foundation of our existence, and our capacity to convince our neighbors
to live in peace with us, is based on the Israeli army."
Russia added Thursday that it would vote
against a Western-led push at the U.N. nuclear watchdog to report Syria to
the Security Council for covert atomic activities, and China suggested it
also opposed the measure.
An official says Russia's government
strongly opposes a draft U.N. resolution condemning Syria.
Russia and China have also opposed strong
U.N. Security Council resolutions on Iran, due to concerns about the impact
they would have on the Iranian people and their business interests in Iran.

The prophet Zechariah informs us in chapter
12 that those peoples surrounding Israel, will someday be devoured by
Israel. The key to understanding portions of his prophecy rests in
recognizing the direct correlation between Zechariah 12:2 and Zechariah
12:6.
“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of
drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against
Judah and Jerusalem. (Zec. 12:2, nkjv; emphasis added)
Someday Jerusalem becomes a cup of “raal”
in the Hebrew, which is commonly translated as reeling, trembling, or
drunkenness. This occurs when the surrounding peoples lay siege against both
Judah and Jerusalem. This cup of “raal” should not be confused with the
“heavy stone” classification of Jerusalem in the following passage.
And it shall happen in that day that I will
make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it
away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are
gathered against it. (Zec. 12:3, nkjv; emphasis added)
Jerusalem becomes a heavy stone for all
peoples from all nations, rather than a cup of trembling to the surrounding
peoples sharing common borders with Israel. Certainly, Jerusalem will feel
like a burdensome stone, and a cup of trembling to Israel's bordering
nations when they lay siege upon Judah and Jerusalem, but the heavy stone
application applies to a much broader worldwide audience.
Zechariah 12:6 informs us that the Israeli
Defense Forces devour those sharing common borders with them like a fiery
torch consumes sheaves or rows of fallen grain.
In that day I will make the governors of
Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves;
they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the
left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem.
(Zec. 12:6, nkjv; emphasis added)
The differing imageries of a cup of
trembling, verses a burdensome stone, seems to represent different prophetic
events. Although they are somewhat interrelated due to their connection with
Jerusalem, the first event describes the I.D.F. causing their surrounding
enemies to tremble because they retaliate against them for laying siege upon
Judah and Jerusalem. As a result of a decisive I.D.F. victory, Jerusalem is
inhabited again by Israelis.
Continued Israeli claims of exclusive
sovereignty over Jerusalem meet with ongoing resistance throughout the
world. From Joel 3:2, Psalm 2:1-3, and elsewhere, we realize Anti-Semitism
spreads throughout the world and ultimately causes all peoples from all
nations to assemble against Israel in the final stages of the Armageddon
Campaign.
Clues
The main clues given to separate the two
Jerusalem centered prophecies are:
1. The Surrounding Peoples,
2. The Fiery Torch,
3. The Heavy Stone.
The Surrounding Peoples – appears to
identify those sharing common borders with Israel at the time Jerusalem
becomes a cup of trembling. The Hebrew word used for the surrounding peoples
is Sabiyb. This same word is used to describe the enemy Arab nations
encircling Israel in Ezekiel 36:3, 4, and 7. It is doubtful Zechariah was
loosely identifying all peoples from all nations by using this specific
Hebrew word. If he was, why didn’t he repeat the same word again in
Zec.12:3?
The Fiery Torch – The illustration of a
torch devouring a swath of sheaves is a clear picture of a military
conquest. Since it is the governors (also translated as clans or captains)
of Judah that wield the torch, rather than the Lord single-handedly like in
Isaiah 63:3 and Ezekiel 38:18-39:6, it must be regarded with a prophecy
involving the Israeli military.
Ezekiel 25:14, Obadiah 1:18, Isaiah
11:13-14, Zephaniah 2:9, and elsewhere describe the Israeli Defense Forces
in end time’s military action. However, the I.D.F. is not instrumental in
Isaiah 63:3 or Ezekiel 38:18-39:6. These events involve the destruction of
Israel’s enemies solely by the Lord. In Isaiah’s prophecy it is the Messiah
that is “mighty to save,” that fights against the Antichrist and his armies.
In Ezekiel’s account, it is the Lord that destroys the Ezekiel 38 invaders.
In neither Isaiah’s, nor Ezekiel’s scenarios is the I.D.F. influential in
the battle.
Thus, there must be at least three end
time’s battles over Israel. Two of which the I.D.F. plays no decisive role
whatsoever. If Zechariah 12:2 and 12:6, which both identifies surrounding
peoples, is not part of Armageddon or Ezekiel's Gog of Magog invasion, then
what battle remains? The only logical conclusion is described in the Psalm
83 prophecy. The Psalm identifies the surrounding peoples sharing common
borders with Israel that want to destroy Israel.
The Heavy Stone – although some allegorical
correlation to the stone of Daniel 2:34-35, 45 could be made with Zechariah
12:3, the illustration appears to deal with disputed territory. Sovereign
Israeli claims over Jerusalem become a burden to all peoples from all
nations, and Jerusalem is pictured as an immovable stone. Due to its weight
it can neither be heaved away nor cut into pieces to be removed
fractionally. Even though the international community continuously attempts
to heave it out of Israel’s real estate portfolio, it falls back in its same
location injuring those attempting to cast it away.
The prophet Joel predicts this matter's
final resolution as an end time's event occurring after the Jews return from
the nations of the world into the reestablished State of Israel.
“For behold, in those days and at that
time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also
gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I
will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My
heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also
divided up My land. (Joel 3:1-2, nkjv)
The nations of the world are guilty of
attempting to divide the land of Israel including Jerusalem. This is
occurring now, and will probably continue to occur after the Psalm 83
conflict. Ultimately, the Lord gathers all the nations to do a final battle
against the Jews, which appears to be when Zechariah 12:3 finds its final
literal fulfillment. Partial geo-political fulfillment has been occurring
since Israel was reestablished on May 14, 1948.
Occasionally, someone writes to my website
and suggests that I'm too concerned about the United States and not
concerned enough about the rest of the world. If that writer is from another
country, then I can appreciate his or her desire to hear more about what's
happening in their part of the world. But I get very little of that
criticism from viewers who live in other nations (and there are many).
Normally, those comments come from American viewers who (though they usually
try to disguise it) don't like my "politics." Yet others write to ask me to
comment more about what's happening on the
moral/cultural/political/financial scene right here in the USA.
So this week's program is going to
disappoint some viewers and delight others because it focuses mainly on
what's happening here in the United States. And that's appropriate because I
believe what we're witnessing in America is perfectly in line with what the
Bible predicts for the days leading up to Christ's return for His church.
You've heard me often say that I don't see
a role for the United States in end-times prophecy. I believe that means
that the US will either not exist or will be so hamstrung, crippled, or
weakened that it is of no consequence during that time. On the surface, that
seems to be a ludicrous assumption. Today, the United States is the world's
only superpower. No one can challenge our military or economic might. We are
a nation the likes of which has never been seen before in history. Who or
what could cripple us?
Our greed.
And our lack of self-control. Experts say
that if you took all the money in the world and lumped it together, you'd
come up with about $58 trillion. America's national debt is presently more
than $14 trillion. In other words, we've borrowed (and owe) over a quarter
of all the money in the world. And we have no prayer of ever paying it back.
Remember what Proverbs 22:7 warns: the
borrower is slave to the lender. Trust me, we don't want to be slaves to the
folks who've purchased much of our debt!
Of course, America's dilemma gets even more
complex. You see, in the most recent years, we couldn't find anyone to buy
our debt so we bought it ourselves! And, believe it or not, that makes our
prospects even more precarious since we created the money out of thin air to
buy the debt we were selling to finance more spending that required more
money that needed to be financed with more debt which we could only sell to
ourselves.... You get the picture.
Unfortunately, there's no end in sight
since the politicians seem not to have the guts to put a stop to it. And why
should they? Apparently the majority of Americans don't want the gravy train
to stop, either. Else why would we keep returning to office the very people
who have mucked things up so horribly?
We are in a recession/depression largely of
the banking cartel's making. That's right - cartel (read that "Federal
Reserve System"), a group dedicated to the protection and profitability of
its privately-owned member banks. Just like OPEC is dedicated to preserving
the profits of its member oil-exporting countries, the Fed (and its
wholly-owned subsidiary, the US Treasury) is dedicated to protecting the
profits and power of its members. None of whom, by the way, work for you or
me or any American citizen.
I suppose you're catching on that this
subject gets my dander up! Well, it should get yours up as well. This greed
and recklessness is driving America to bankruptcy and that's probably what
will remove her from any substantial role in the final days of this age.
Even the Europeans are discussing it. This
week I'll share with you the perspective of a prominent European think tank
which recently published a bulletin on America's financial future.
I'll also give you a bit of history to help
you understand how we reached this point, then spend the last part of the
program considering what happens next, both from a geopolitical point of
view and from the prophetic perspective.
Some of this week's information is quite
unsettling, especially if you love this country like I do. But don't be
discouraged. For those of us who have accepted the free gift of pardon that
Jesus Christ died to purchase, the growing chaos only confirms that His
coming is near. And if that doesn't excite you, then now is the time to
prepare for that day by accepting Christ's atoning grace.
The forces of darkness meet in secret; let
our light so shine! –

What do the executive officers of Alcoa,
Royal Dutch Shell, Coca-Cola, Goldman Sachs, Clarium Capital Management, and
Airbus have in common with Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the
American Enterprise Institute, the Hudson Institute, and David Rockefeller?
These are all members of the steering committee for one of the most
secretive organizations on earth--The Bilderberg group. This secret society
is holding its annual meeting in Switzerland this week. According to
Bilderberg investigative journalist Jim Tucker, the globalists will be
discussing how to broaden their profit making with the war in Libya,
measures to globalize national sovereignty, and use high gas prices to
control economies.
Bilderberg attendees provoke vast
conspiracy theories about global control, war profiteering, and destroying
and building economies for profit and global governance. Indeed, its
secretive meetings, agendas and combined global political and financial
power serve to fuel the fire of those with wild imaginations. But in
reality, much of group think, governmental policies and world events seem to
fall in line with the Bilderberg agenda. There are also overlapping secret
societies that muster globalist muscle of similar fame--Freemasons, the
Bohemian Club, the Illuminati, the Trilateral Commission. There are also
more open globalist promoting societies such as the Council on Foreign
Relations and the Carlyle Group.
These organizations are dedicated to
controlling the world through a one world order that is favorable to their
independent positions. A rival group to these wealthy and influential
globalists may well be Islam. The concept of Islam is to take over the world
in the name of allah and establish Sharia Law over all the nations which
would then submit to this cultic economic and political system disguised as
a religion. All of these have one goal in common--world domination. They are
dark and evil organizations that manipulate, plot, conspire, and kill, steal
and destroy. In that, they have one father in common, satan, who uses them
as tools to put people on the path to hell and to usher in his global
government.
These conspirators have no authority in the
Kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 4:4,5 says, "For I know nothing by myself; yet
am I not hereby justified: but he that judges me is the Lord. Therefore
judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to
light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of
the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God." Our job is not to
be troubled by these sinister forces, but rather as Romans 13:12 says, "cast
off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." There is a
lot written in the Bible about the Lord's people being of light and not
darkness. So as the forces of darkness gather, let us let our light scatter
them.
The goals in Afghanistan and Iraq have
shifted from rooting out terrorists to nation building. The stated goal of
the current president is to put the full weight of American foreign policy
behind fomenting revolution across the Middle East. He said on May 19, "I
want to make it clear that it is a top priority that must be translated into
concrete actions, and supported by all of the diplomatic, economic and
strategic tools at our disposal. Let me be specific. First, it will be the
policy of the United States to promote reform across the region, and to
support transitions to democracy." We are no longer at war to stop terrorism
on our soil, but rather a quest to use American lives for nation building in
the name of self-determination.
Self-determination and democracy in Islamic
countries equates to Sharia Law and Islamic oppression. Even in America's
misguided nation building efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, there is no
religious freedom or freedom of speech. Yes, it is in the Constitutions of
those nations, but in practice it is ruled by Islamic interpretation. The
president said, "Not every country will follow our particular form of
representative democracy, and there will be times when our short-term
interests don't align perfectly with our long-term vision for the region."
No disclaimer is excuse or justification for policies that result in the
deaths of American military personnel--our sons and daughters--and at the
same time advancing terrorism and Islam.
On March 8, 2005, The Daily Jot reported
that the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group with ties to Iran and al Qaeda was
working to destabilize the Libyan government. In 2004, the State Department
said this group "constitutes the most serious threat against US interests"
in Libya. The Libyan rebel leader now supported by America's president was
an integral member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group and has admitted al
Qaeda is part of his new rebel organization. This week, Admiral Michael
Mullen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff told AFP, al Qaeda in Yemen has "grown
into a very virulent deadly federated point" because of the destabilization
efforts in Yemen, which are supported, even engineered, by the White House.
America now has wars it is supporting in
Afghanistan, Iraq, Tunisia, Yemen, and Libya. America instigated and
supported a coup in Egypt. In all these places, Muslim Brotherhood radicals,
al Qaeda and other terrorist groups, are in position to take power. In the
name of democracy, the finest America has to offer will be sacrificed so
that evil can spread like a plague upon the region. In the 1960s American
youth were willing to riot against war. Where are the protesters today?
Certainly, this policy and these wars are far more unjust and immoral than a
war against communism. Psalm 43:1 says, "Judge me O God, and plead my cause
against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man."
I grieve in what we allow.
"I have told you all this so that you may
have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But
take heart, because I have overcome the world."
—John 16:33
Sometimes people get upset with the church.
They may have been mistreated, or perhaps someone representing the church
didn't do a good job of that. Or maybe they did a horrible thing in the name
of the church, and there is no excuse for that.
Then again, it may be the people who are
supposedly bitter at the church feel that way because they have lived in
disobedience. They did something wrong, and then they faced the
repercussions of that in the church. Maybe they were told not to live that
way any longer. And so they became angry at the church.
The church has its strengths, and the
church has its weaknesses. But no matter what, Jesus Christ established it,
and we are part of it. We need to love the church, support the church, and
be a functioning part of the church. And if you are looking for a
hypocrite-free church, your search is over, because no such church exists.
So stop looking. Every church has hypocrites, because every church is made
up of human beings just like you and me who fall short. We all have our
shortcomings. We all have our flaws. But Jesus established the church, and
He said, "Upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell
will not conquer it" (Matthew 16:18).
We live in a culture where the church is
under attack. Our values are mocked and laughed at. Our belief about the
family, about what matters in life, is being challenged by an increasingly
secular culture. And sometimes we wonder, Is evil going to prevail? But
Jesus said of the church, "All the powers of hell will not conquer it." Read
the last page of the Bible, and you will see that the church wins in the
end.

“Folks, it's all beginning to
unravel. America is in more danger of falling than at any time in its
history. But I believe Bible prophecy predicts this very decline. From this
point on, we believers have to get serious. We are going to face
discouragement, disillusionment and, most certainly, persecution in the time
between now and the Rapture. But don't be discouraged or disillusioned. The
coming turmoil will provide us unrivaled opportunities to share the good
news of the Gospel. So be ready to share your faith and your hope with those
who need Christ. We still have time to reap a great harvest of souls for
God's kingdom!” – Hal Lindsey

“To everything there is a season, and a
time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1. There is a time
for everything under Heaven and God established those times. Time is so
elusive that no human being will ever completely figure it out, that realm
belongs to God. Time just keeps going, but sometimes we run out of time. Our
lives are engulfed and ordered by time. Time is all around us, it moves past
us yet we can’t see it, it even seems to speed up and slow down.
“A time to be born, and a time to die; a
time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” Ecclesiastes
3:2. Scientists have been working diligently to zero in on just how the idea
of time works in relation to the rest of the universe. So many theories have
been postulated that nowadays the libraries and book stores are replete with
ideas promoting their various scenarios all involving time and its basis for
existence. Yet only One individual truly understands the nature of time
perfectly – after all, He’s the One who created time.
“God made time so everything didn’t happen
all at once.” I read that quote recently and it amused me, but it also moved
me to give time a little more serious thought. As we read and study our
Bibles we come to the conclusion that the restraints we feel and live by
because of time seem to have no effect on God. He is the beginning and He is
the end. God has placed a time frame in place for every season to occur as
He has determined. With His knowledge of time God is involved in every
detail of each of earth’s occupants. “A time to kill, and a time to heal; a
time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to
laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;” Ecclesiastes 3:3-4. All
aspects of time which have been seen by human kind throughout history God
sees simultaneously. “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou
hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting,
thou art God.” Psalm 90:2. Time is God’s creation and He determines the
boundaries and sets times duration.
In the book of Revelation Jesus tells us “I
am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending” Revelation 1:8a. Of course
God is from the beginning and He will be here at the very end. It’s His
creation; He’s in charge of every detail including every nanosecond of time.
“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things
that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my
pleasure:” Isaiah 46:10. Every moment of time is established for God’s good
pleasure. As His children, we take comfort in knowing we are doing His will
according to His time frame, His good pleasure.
John tells us that “In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in
the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not
anything made that was made.” John 1:1-3. Then Paul tells us in Colossians
that “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are
in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And
he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” Colossians 1:16-17.
Jesus Christ is the Creator of all time and we live within His constraints.
Humans can record what has happened in the
past and those records can be passed on to all posterity. If we study the
past we can learn a lot from those recordings. We can actually travel back
in time by way of reading history books. Some of those travels can be very
exciting, filled with intrigue, love stories, and many wonderful adventures
which give us endless hours of entertainment. Entertainment that will keep
us glued to our seats until we finish reading. All this and more can be
found in God’s word. All we need is the time to read.
“A time to cast away stones, and a time to
gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from
embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to
cast away;… A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of
peace.” Ecclesiastes 3:5, 6, & 8. The Bible is set in increments of time
blocks. That’s how God set it up to be understood. We read it and find that
God has given mankind their complete history in advance. We call that
prophecy; God sets the time for every occasion all for His glory.
Even to achieve as simple a task as seeing
what lies just a moment ahead during our daily routine is impossible for
mankind. We can plan for tomorrow - make plans for a career change, a summer
vacation, a trip to the doctor, or even our own funeral - but we really
don’t know if tomorrow will be a part of our future. So the only prudent
plan we can make out of all I mentioned is the one that involves our own
funeral. Baring the Rapture, that plan is the only plan that will, with
certainty, come to fruition at a point in time, according to God’s plan for
our future.
God can see our future and He knows what
our plans consist of. But His plan for our future may not be what we’ve
planned at all. Tomorrows come and go almost without notice, especially in
these rushing to and fro filled days. Since each day has us looking forward
to a tomorrow, it becomes obvious that tomorrow is only a function of time
designed to entice us to look forward. Tomorrow, then, becomes merely a
persistent illusion. It’s akin to seeking after a mirage - it just isn’t
there, but today is.
There’s only so much time in the life of
every human being. Time, even though brought into existence by our Creator
God, can be a real enemy to humankind, specifically to those folks who
continually stand opposed to their Creator. Since tomorrow is such a
consistently stubborn illusion, decisions and the follow through of those
decisions must be accomplished in the present. For those of you who weren’t
paying attention, that’s today. As Christians, we are bound by a command
from our Savior God to work today. “Then saith he unto his disciples, The
harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the
Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Matthew 9:37-38. The Lord saw the multitudes and He knew there was a huge
harvest. Today that harvest is even greater. Jesus sends you as a laborer
into the field of harvest. Are you willing, or are you content to allow
others to do all the labor? Ask yourself, when the time comes and we find
ourselves standing before Christ to give an account of our lives, what will
your response be as you face the Creator of the universe? Sorry God, I just
ran out of time.
Many folks have no desire whatsoever to
know God or to even believe He exists, unbeknownst to them, time becomes a
most horrible enemy. When I was just a youngster I had a teacher who became
so irritated with the students who were obvious time watchers, that he
attached a sign to the bottom of the clock in his room which stated “Time
will pass, will you?” God says “Time will pass, will my child bear fruit for
my Kingdom?” Sadly, most Christians today won’t have anything to do with
bearing fruit. They are so self-absorbed in the world they love they have no
time for following God’s will.
Time is a most fleeting phenomenon,
especially when speaking to a person whose eyes are blinded by the god of
this world; time instead of being a luxury or something we take for granted
becomes a hindrance. Time is a dangerous foe as a person remains in
unbelief. Sooner or later time will take its toll on lost individuals as
they continue in their stance against God. Why? Because those who remain in
this condition risk the very predictable result of hardening their hearts
even more against their Creator God. Their father the devil gains a far
greater foothold over their lives as they remain in rebellion to God. These
folks will finally realize how important the dimension of time was, but it
will be too late. As believers in Christ we need to be very diligent in our
witnessing attempts. Time is running out.
Side Note:
Here’s a thought provoker; this is my own
concept, and it’s only conjecture meant just for fun. Since we know that God
created time it would be safe for us to say that God is not restrained by
any portion of His creation, including time. Since God dwells in another
dimension called Heaven we may assume there is no time passing in that
dimension. So here’s my conjecture. God Raptured Enoch when he was 365 years
old. When the Church is Raptured we will enter Heaven at the exact instant
that Enoch stepped through that same portal into the Heavenly realm.
Question, how can we get to Heaven at a different point in time than Enoch
if there is no time in Heaven? Purely conjecture on my part, but give it
some thought and the possibilities are endless.
“To everything there is a season, and a
time to every purpose under the heaven… …A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;” Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7. Bottom
line, there’s a time to sew and a time to speak; the time to keep silence
has passed. None of us know how many tomorrows we have left. All we know for
sure is what we have today. As born again believers in Christ we may not
have any more tomorrows, as we should all be aware that the Rapture is
imminent, which makes the urgency of speaking to our lost family members,
friends, and even those strangers that cross our path about the saving grace
of Jesus Christ paramount . Yesterday, today was tomorrow. Tomorrow, today
will be yesterday. But today, today is today. So in all actuality today is
all we’ve got. What will you do with your today?
God bless you all,
