There is an expression about that is similar to this: “We live in interesting times,” but it is so applicable today. Well might we rephrase that to “We live in strategic times.” I suppose I get a bit disturbed at those who are rushing to a cataclysmic war footing right now in the Middle East, as in ushering in the Gog/Magog war. I respect your rights, but I think a tendency exists for some to jump the gun on the matter of the Gog war. More on that shortly. The critical fact where we must stand assured is this passage: Daniel 9:26-27 “Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come, will destroy the city and the sanctuary, and its end will come with a flood – even to the end there will be war. Desolations are determined. Daniel 9:27 AND HE WILL MAKE A FIRM COVENANT WITH THE MANY FOR ONE WEEK, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering, and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.” The prince who is to come is Antichrist; the people of the prince are the Romans – it points to a Revived Roman Empire = The EU or some equivalent). That covenant will bring in the remaining 7 years of the seventy weeks. It speaks about the coming powerful world ruler most call Antichrist, and he will be so cunning and diplomatic that he will be able to bring in this covenant of peace between Israel and its Islamic neighbors. No one else can possibly do that. The UN is a sick joke. The USA is powerless and overrun by ineptitude and a corrupt White House. Britain is falling apart. Remember the last week/7 years is for this purpose: Daniel 9:24 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city – to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, etc.” Everything will come to a head in that time, not before that time. I get emails telling me the Gog war is about to happen just because Iran is involved. Just this last week, Russia sent a plane of unknown secret equipment to Iran. Yes, things are heating up, and the nations are falling into line, all ready for the starting gun. The starting gun will not crack away until the Rapture happens. There will be no Gog war before the Rapture. Indeed there is no Gog war before the Second Coming. I have written on this before, but I think some don’t understand the scriptures quoted. The Gog war will see an alliance that is not yet in operation – the countries mentioned in Ezekiel. They exist now but have not come together. Who will solve the Middle East crisis? No one today will because it is impossible to placate a satanic Islam. Only one can solve that problem, and as stated earlier, it has to be after the Rapture. In fact, I think it is the very first thing Antichrist will do when that white horse of the first seal rides forth. That makes me think he will be in some political position today, for he will have some clout to rise so rapidly to the surface. I feel it will be someone who reminds me of Macron of France. Why am I emphatic about there being no Gog war before the Rapture AND CERTAINLY NOT IN THE CURRENT SITUATION? I have written on this, and some I think take no notice. Don’t be entrenched in something you have heard or checked out. You will find my posts on this in the archives, but I am going to focus on just one aspect now. I encourage those who speak about an imminent Gog war to read the WHOLE of Ezekiel 38 and 39, especially the second half of Ezekiel 39. I will now quote some of these verses – [a]. We have here described the destruction of Gog, BUT straight after the defeat, we have verse 7 (all below). We know the LORD will not make His Name known in the midst of Israel until AFTER the Second Coming. It can’t possibly happen now or in the Tribulation. Consider all scriptures in context. Jesus will NOT LET HIS HOLY NAME BE PROFANED ANYMORE (verse 7), but in the Tribulation, it is grossly profaned. This righteous situation cannot happen until after the Second Coming. (Gog’s destruction) Ezekiel 39:4 “You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops, and the peoples who are with you. I shall give you as food to every kind of predatory bird and beast of the field. Ezekiel 39:5 You will fall on the open field for it is I who have spoken,’ declares the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 39:6 ‘I shall send fire upon Magog and those who inhabit the coastlands in safety, and they will know that I am the LORD. Ezekiel 39:7 MY HOLY NAME I SHALL MAKE KNOWN IN THE MIDST OF MY PEOPLE ISRAEL, AND I SHALL NOT LET MY HOLY NAME BE PROFANED ANYMORE, AND THE NATIONS WILL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD, THE HOLY ONE IN ISRAEL.” (b). Here is the next one, which is right at the end of this war again, speaking of the great mass of birds that will eat the flesh (also confirmed by Revelation 19). Take note very carefully of the timing presented here and the events. Ezekiel 39:19 “You will eat fat until you are glutted, and drink blood until you are drunk, from My sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you, Ezekiel 39:20 and you will be glutted at My table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all the men of war,’ declares the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 39:21 ‘I SHALL SET MY GLORY AMONG THE NATIONS, AND ALL THE NATIONS WILL SEE MY JUDGMENT WHICH I HAVE EXECUTED, AND MY HAND WHICH I HAVE LAID ON THEM, Ezekiel 39:22 AND THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL WILL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THEIR GOD FROM THAT DAY ONWARD.” No way is it possible that the LORD sets up His glory among the nations until the Second Coming has happened. That is the truth of the matter. At the conclusion of the Gog war, the nations share the glory of the LORD. (They will be the redeemed nations.) It does not happen now. The world has to go through the darkest period in its history before that can happen. Take special note of verse 22. The remnant of Israel will know with perfect knowledge that the LORD is their God FROM THAT DAY ONWARD. It can’t happen now before the Rapture or even after the Rapture before the Second Coming. The timing can only be at the Second Coming when Israel is redeemed and restored and will be regathered. (c). The word “therefore” in verse 25 (all below) wraps up what has gone before. Straight after the Gog war, the Messiah restores the fortunes and blessing of Israel and shows the nation great mercy. All treachery will be gone, and they will live securely on their own land FOREVER, never to be made afraid again. (From the River to the River!) We know in the Tribulation (read Matthew 24) that fear will grip Israel in the time of Jacob’s trouble, and they will be under great distress. Israel’s glory and restoration cannot happen until the LORD comes again. AND that glory cannot happen until Gog is defeated. Ezekiel 39:25 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, ‘NOW I shall restore the fortunes of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I shall be jealous for My holy name, Ezekiel 39:26 and they shall forget their disgrace and all their treachery which they perpetrated against Me when they live securely on their own land with no one to make them afraid. Ezekiel 39:27 WHEN I BRING THEM BACK from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then I shall be sanctified through them in the sight of the many nations.’” Every single description here is definite that the Gog war can’t be before the time span of the Second Coming. I have advanced the proof that it has to be part of the great Battle of Armageddon, with special focus on Gog, and I think it is the Gog forces pictured in Zechariah 14. Therefore, what is going on in the Middle East today? Well, much is, but in particular, it is like a chess board where certain pieces are lining up. Iran is critical but not as much so as the northern alliance comprising the Russian Federation. The nations named in Ezekiel 39 do not have an alliance today but are working towards that. Ties between Russia and Iran are strengthening. There is very little moving with Libya and Ethiopia at present. In other words, things are starting to come together, and what does that suggest? Well, it means the starting gun is ready to fire. The Rapture has to be close because that is the trigger. It is full-on after that. We should not advance a Gog/Magog war in isolation by ignoring the closing half of Ezekiel 39. The account is a whole. I know this might go against some teachers who are promoting an imminent Gog war. Let us hold to the scriptural timeline, not trying to fit current happenings into the biblical Gog/Magog because some things look enticing for the Gog war. Remember this: if the Lord comes tomorrow in the Rapture, then the Gog war is just 7 years away. Of course, you’d expect events and nations and technology to be there in place and almost ready. It is in place and ready but needs some extra formation that can happen quite easily in the Tribulation as the great Gog war gets ready to annihilate Israel according to every single detail outlined in Ezekiel 38 and 39. To close, we can NOT have a restored and blameless Israel going into the Tribulation and then under the great stress of Matthew 24, Revelation 12, and Zechariah 14. What current events do suggest … is that the Rapture must be very close. Iran's theocratic worldview is shaped by the Shi'ite belief that Muhammad's will was betrayed by the Sunni Caliphs who immediately succeeded the prophet. The true believers in the Shi'ite hierarchy assert that the Sunni hijacking of Islam will end with the return of the Imam Zaman (the Twelfth Imam), ushering in the end times. For certain, the Islamic Republic employs the "Zionist Entity" as a foil to obscure its apostate image among Sunnis. Iran's militancy also diminishes Saudi Arabia's traditional primacy as guardian of Sunni Islam's global interests. Iranian efforts to recruit both Shi'ite and Sunni Muslims to join the anti-Zionist "resistance" have succeeded in capturing the passion of even some Sunni extremist groups, like Hamas. Although Iran's revolution is a modern occurrence (1979), the essence of its theological ideology is rooted in the first decades of Islamic history. The Sunni-Shi'ite divide is traceable to the refusal by Damascus-based Umayyad dynastic Islamic notables to recognize the claim of Ali, the son-in-law and nephew of Muhammad, as the prophet's legitimate successor as leader of Islam. Though Ali ultimately was named the Fourth Caliph, Sunni leaders disinherited his sons, killing his youngest, Hussain, and many of his followers at the Battle of Karbala, Iraq in 680 CE. Following the defeat of their Shi'ite rivals, Sunni Muslims dominated the "Islamic world" in both power and population for centuries, except for a few periods of regional Shi'ite ascendancies. All that changed with the U.S.-led destruction of the Sunni dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. The demise of Saddam liberated Iraq's Shi'ite majority, many of whom felt an affinity for Shi'ite Iran across the border. It is these Shi'ites who make up the several terrorist gangs in Iraq who do the bidding of Iran's extremist regime. Iran's theocratic ideologues also share old-school ties with Iraq's leading clerics, many of whom were trained in the same Shi'ite seminaries in Najaf (Iraq) and Qom (Iran). The overriding goal of Iran's Shi'ite clerics is finally to replace Sunni dominance; first in the Middle East and eventually throughout the Islamic world. Iranian muscle in the Persian Gulf has now outclassed the Arabian Peninsula's monarchial Sunni states in raw power. While these peninsular kingdoms remain wealthy, their thrones rest on sand. For the foreseeable future, they will all require protective guarantees from the calvaries of heathen states like America, Israel or China. Iran has appealed to Shi'ite minorities around the world, including in South Asia, West Africa and Mainland as well as Archipelago Southeast Asia. Iran has embraced Syria's Alawite rulers as legitimate fellow Shi'ites. It has recruited Shi'ite soldiers from Afghanistan and Pakistan to join the ranks of the Lebanese Shi'ite terror group Hezbollah and Yemen's ethnic Houthi Shi'ites who serve in the pro-Iranian international brigades fighting Tehran's wars in the Mideast. To deal the killing blow to Sunni political and religious Islam in the Gulf, Iran must "persuade" the U.S. to jettison its view that Middle East stability is a vital American national interest. Such a calculation by U.S. national security experts would, by definition, force Washington to reevaluate America's longstanding commitment to Israel's defense. Iran's efforts to create anti-Israel sentiment among segments of the U.S. population are precisely orchestrated to attrit traditional popular support for Israel among American citizens. The mobilization of Muslim-American sentiment for the "Palestinian cause," together with idealistic and naïve support among some college students, has already influenced the 2024 U.S. presidential election to a greater degree than ever envisioned by Russia or China. Vice President Kamala Harris's decision not to select the popular Jewish-American Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro as her running mate buttresses the accusation that she has bowed to the anti-Israel faction of her party, which includes open antisemites in its ranks. Iran's future strategy to undermine the American presence in the Middle East may include several confrontational tactics: Tehran could seek to enflame the Shi'ite-majority population of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. This region is the site of much of the kingdom's oil wealth and has traditionally been a center of deep opposition to the ruling al-Saud dynasty, the global standard bearer of Sunni Islam. Another disruptive option is already in play: Iran's propagandists are presently stoking existing anti-Israeli animosities among Palestinian Arabs living in Judea and Samaria. Iran hopes these Palestinians will violently resist Israel's administrative control to create another front on Israel's borders. Tehran's radicalization of this population may also be used to attempt to topple the already teetering Hashemite dynasty in Jordan. Indeed, King Abdullah II might be the last King of Jordan, as his country's Palestinian Arab population continues to grow. The overthrow of the Hashemites would remove a pro-Western ally that Iran could use as another tentacle in its anti-Israel strategy. Furthermore, Iran has a subterranean network of cooperative elements in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This Sunni-ruled island state hosts the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet and is a pro-Western ally in the Mideast. The dissolution of al-Khalifa dynastic rule in Bahrain would probably lead to the ouster of the Fifth Fleet, complicating the West's ability to police Iranian aggression in the Persian Gulf. Bahrain is vulnerable to the Islamic Republic's malevolent designs because its Sunni dynasty rules over a restive, much larger Shi'ite population. The al-Khalifa Dynasty is unpopular but maintains control through a predominantly South Asian thuggish paramilitary of mercenaries. As an emergency security backup, a 15-mile bridge and causeway complex, built, in part, for a quick suppressive response, connects Bahrain to Saudi Arabia. The U.S. and Israel must never underestimate Iran's willingness to act on its ideologically inspired, apocalyptic dream that the Shi'ite narrative will be the universally accepted true legacy of Islam. The diminution of democratic power in the region will only lead to bolder moves by Iran's clerics and their military class of zealots in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). If we follow the Marxist narrative of “believe the victim,” allowing Hamas to be the victim, shouldn’t we believe these terrorists when they say their fight is a struggle of the “Moslem people” against the Jews? The Israel-Hamas war is more than geopolitical—Hamas believes it is religious. Unfortunately, few Christians in the West study the religion of Islam. Such study is crucial to understanding the larger Middle East conflict. Not every Muslim believes like Hamas, but there is a reason why many of the world’s most ruthless terrorist organizations are Islamic—and Hamas is no exception. The Qur’an in Context The Qur’an, Islam’s “holy book,” has a long, oral history. Islamic doctrine admits its founder and greatest prophet, Muhammad, was an illiterate caravan robber. This so-called pinnacle of manhood claimed Jibril, an angelic messenger claiming to be Gabriel, visited him and gave him the true, final word of God (Sahih Bukhari 4953, Qur’an Surah 93), which needed restoring (Qur’an Surah 33:38–40). Islam rejects Trinitarian doctrine (Qur’an Surah 4:171) in favor of a new message in the form of a book added to the prior Scriptures (Qur’an Surah 15:9), similar to Mormonism. Unlike Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, Muhammad was not a con-artist prior to his proclaimed revelations. Rather, Muhammad, according to the Quran, was terrified of his initial visit from Jibril, having been violently “pressed against” (Sahih Bukhari 4953), with possible sexual undertones of molestation. Fleeing the cave, Muhammad feared he had become demon-possessed and repeatedly tried to throw himself off mountaintops—only to have Jibril forcibly stop him every time (Sahih al-Bukhari 6982). His later proof of Jibril’s angelic authenticity included Jibril’s physically appealing form (Nawawi 40:2) and the fact that Jibril was not Black (Ishaq 243). Islam historically associates the color black with demonic, subhuman attributes, another similarity to historical Mormonism. Is it any wonder that the first Arabic critics of Islam, who hailed from Muhammad’s own tribe, identified Jibril as Satan (Sahih al-Bukhari 1125)? With this demonic origin, it is only natural that Islam claims to be the enemy of the Jews and Christians (Qur’an Surah 5:51). The Qur’an states that at Jesus’ return, our Messiah will “break the cross” (an attack on Christianity) and “kill the pigs” (an attack on Judaism, likely in the Temple), eventually “abolish[ing] the Jizya” (a tax demanded of Jews and Christians), implying the death of all Jews and Christians (Sahih Bukhari 2222, Qur’an Surah 8:39). Hamas’s Genocidal Islamic Instruction Hamas, a militant Islamic organization, religiously follows these principles today. Its stated desire is to kill Jewish people. Hamas seeks a second Holocaust, which it believes is the universal aim of Islam: “The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.” —(Hamas’ Founding Charter, Article 7) Hamas continues to find its primary guidance, inspiration, and motivation in Islam. Its members believe their struggle is religious, and they conduct their warfare as such. Saul Alinsky, the father of the modern Left, wrote in his book Rules for Radicals, “[Do not] forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical… Lucifer.” Lucifer was the role model in crafting the modern Left and Islam. Satan’s footprint is evident in the tactics Hamas and other Islamic terror organizations employ. Hamas follows the Islamic teaching that breaking treaties with non-Muslims is acceptable and encouraged (as was the case with the Islamic conquest of the city of Mecca in AD 630). This is clear by its consistent use of suicide bombers and stated rejection of any peace (Hamas’ Founding Charter, Article 13). Additionally, deception is considered aspirational, with Allah himself being credited in the Qur’an as the “best of those who plot” (Qur’an Surah 3:54). In fact, the Qur’an teaches that Christianity itself came into existence due to one of Allah’s deceptions (Qur’an Surah 4:157). How much more should Allah’s followers emulate their god’s tried and true historical precedent of deception—and being the best at it? Hamas sees no limit to such imitation, and neither does the original deceiver, Satan. Finally, the Qur’an posits that a true prophet will wantonly slaughter all enemies, including civilians (Qur’an Surah 8:67), before taking prisoners. Is this not exactly what we see Hamas doing in its use of civilian human shields, its rampant murder and destruction on October 7, and its continued calls to worldwide jihad? Hamas And Israel’s Spiritual Conflict Obeying Islam’s commands turns any truly observant Muslim organization into terrorists. Islam’s encouragement to lie and deceive like Allah renders Hamas dangerously corrupt. It will say one thing, do another, and tell its followers a third. What Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran advocate for is a consequence of what they believe and in whom they believe. To bring any real, lasting change to Israel and the Middle East, Muslims must cease following Allah. If they continue to believe in this deceiver, no authentic change can come. As the apostle Paul says, Israel may obtain superficial peace, but it will prove only a deception (1 Thessalonians 5:3). The antidote is Christ, not a continued tolerance of Satan. All must repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15) for any real, lasting change to come. The conflict between Hamas and Israel is not merely geopolitical; it is spiritual. Satan’s followers pit themselves against God’s promises to Abraham (Genesis 12:1–3; 17:7–8). Who will you, your church, and your country stand with: God or the Devil? There are only two choices, and they lie before us, confirmed both in God’s Word and Islam’s testimony. If you feel that way, you are definitely not alone. In fact, as you will see below, most Americans believe that the U.S. is currently experiencing a recession. Large employers have been conducting mass layoffs from coast to coast, the cost of living crisis is absolutely crushing millions upon millions of working families, and the number of business bankruptcies has jumped by more than 40 percent in just one year. Considering all of the economic pain that we are witnessing all around us, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that 59 percent of Americans believe “that the U.S. is currently in a recession”… And yet, 59% of Americans falsely believe that the U.S. is currently in a recession, according to a recent survey of 2,000 adults by Affirm in June. Citing higher costs and difficulty making ends meet, most respondents said they think a recession started roughly 15 months ago, in March 2023, and could last until July 2025, Affirm found. CNBC would like for us to believe that it is “wrong” for Americans to be thinking this way. Even though millions upon millions of Americans are deeply hurting, we are just supposed to pretend that everything is sunshine and lollipops. They can try to gaslight us all they want, but even the Federal Reserve is admitting that most of the population is “running low on disposable cash”… Middle- and lower-income Americans are running low on disposable cash and are on track to have less than they were on pace to have before the COVID pandemic disrupted the economy, a study by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco found. Retailers such as Home Depot are extremely dependent on discretionary spending. Needless to say, discretionary spending is way down right now, and Home Depot is openly admitting that people are not spending as much on home improvement projects as they once did… Home Depot says consumers are feeling crummy about the economy, and they’re dishing out less on major home renovation projects. The home improvement giant, a bellwether of consumer spending and the housing market, lowered its sales expectations for the year. It said customers were spending less on home improvement projects, pressured by higher interest rates and concerns that the economy is getting worse. Home Depot’s business is closely tied to the housing market, and high interest rates are putting a brake on housing turnover and consumers financing larger projects. When the economy is booming, Home Depot is usually swimming in cash. But when the economy is struggling, Home Depot really tends to struggle. To me, this is one of the clearest indications yet of where the economy is heading. Of course it isn’t just discretionary spending that is down. At this point, many Americans can’t even afford the basics. In fact, one recent survey discovered that 39 percent of Americans have actually skipped meals just so that they can make their rent or mortgage payments… 39% of Americans say they’ve skipped meals to make housing payments, per Clever Real Estate survey. And among millennials, that figure rose to 44%. Among Baby Boomers, it was 20%. Wow. I had not seen that number before. That is just stunning. In a desperate attempt to make ends meet, millions upon millions of us are racking up enormous credit card balances, and lots of people are now falling behind… A growing number of borrowers are falling behind on their monthly credit card payments. Over the last year, roughly 9.1% of credit card balances transitioned into delinquency, the New York Fed reported for the second quarter of 2024. And more middle-income households anticipate struggling with debt payments in the coming months. In particular, credit card accounts that were opened in 2021, 2022 and 2023 have particularly high rates of delinquency… Overall delinquencies increased rapidly over the last few years because the credit cards originated in 2021, 2022, and 2023 have gone delinquent much more rapidly than credit cards originated in other years. About 8 percent of credit cards originated in 2016 became delinquent about four years after origination. Meanwhile, the 2021 vintage reached an 8 percent delinquency rate just after 2 years while the 2022 vintage reached 8 percent after less than two years and 2023 has followed 2022 closely so far. Sadly, a lot more economic pain is on the way, because I am entirely convinced that the cost of living will continue to rise faster than paychecks do. One recent survey found that the high cost of living is one of the biggest reasons why so many of us consider living in large cities such as Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco to be undesirable… The company found that the the nation’s capital, for the second year running, is the one Americans feel the largest distaste for. According to the findings, 33 percent of respondents said it is one of the top five worst cities in the country, up from 20 percent last year. 65 percent of people said that a high cost of living makes a place undesirable, with New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco also ranking on the list of unfavorable places. But it isn’t just our large cities that are being absolutely hammered by the current economic climate. In some areas of the country, it literally looks like the next “Great Depression” has already hit. We always had to have more, and so we piled up the largest mountain of government debt in the history of the world, the largest mountain of corporate debt in the history of the world, and the largest mountain of consumer debt in the history of the world. Now those bubbles have started to burst, and as a result our entire system is at risk. Economic conditions are not great now, but the truth is that what we are experiencing at this moment will be considered rip-roaring prosperity compared to what is eventually coming. If a citizen’s vote is frustrated by a rigged system, then “democracy” is no less a tyranny. There are three areas that will control whether your vote counts in the upcoming presidential election: Whether a state requires voter identification to vote; if voter rolls are up to date; and if ballots can be authenticated. In this constitutional republic only qualified voters are allowed to vote in a presidential election. Those requirements are one must be 18 years of age, an American citizen, meet their state’s residency requirements, and be registered to vote. Some states, as you will see in this analysis, game the system toward democrats. Currently, there are 15 states that do not require voter identification to cast a vote for president. They are: ME, VT, MA, NY, PA, MD, NJ, IL, MN, NM, NV, CA, OR, WA, HA. These states comprise 207 of the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the presidency. Interesting that all these states are traditional Democratic Party strongholds and have voted for Democratic Party presidential candidates in the past. In addition, states won by Democrats in the last three of four presidential elections or all four of the last four elections are MI, WS, CO, VA, NH. They represent another 51 electoral votes. Before any presidential election even begins, the Democratic Party candidate has an advantage of 258 electoral votes. “Mail-in ballots without excuse” allowed for massive mail-in votes that were virtually impossible to authenticate. In addition, there are 27 states and the District of Columbia that allow ballot drop boxes. Most of those states vote or lean Democratic. Twelve states specifically prohibit ballot drop boxes. Interesting, those states vote or lean Republican. In both non-voter ID states and those allowing ballot drop boxes, the prohibition on voter roll purging comes into play. Unqualified voters—such as illegal aliens and dead people—can pose as someone and cast their votes without authentication. It is no coincidence that states leaning or voting for Democratic Party presidential candidates have these methods written into law. Considering the mail-in and voter roll issues in Gorgia, Arizona and Washington, DC during the last election, Democrats were able to gain another 30 electoral votes, bringing the built-in electoral vote advantage to 288 of the 270 needed to elect a president. Republicans have to be extremely effective to win a presidency under these conditions. This is why ballots need to be secure and the best way to secure a ballot is by paper ballot, that way ballots match the number of voters in each precinct—no over-voting. Voter ID, up to date voter rolls, and ballot security are paramount. They are all compromised in Democratic Party-controlled states, making it nearly impossible for a Republican to win the presidency. We can confess it for what it is, turn from it, and know the happiness of being forgiven. Or, we can conceal and hide it and know the misery of ultimately being found out and reaping what we’ve sowed. In the Book of Deuteronomy, God posed a challenge. He said, “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” (30:19 NLT). God was saying, “You can walk with Me, or you can walk away from Me. You can live, or you can die.” It’s amazing that some people consciously would choose death. But that is essentially what we do when we choose to go against God and His Word. Sin is attractive. The devil knows how to present it so that it will have a certain appeal. Sin is a lot like candy-coated strychnine. It’s sweet on the outside until you bite into it. Because of the short-term pleasure that sin offers, many people don’t think about the long-term repercussions. Yet the Bible warns, “You may be sure that your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23 NLT). Sometimes this happens immediately. And sometimes it happens after a period of time. A few years ago, I saw a news story about someone who wanted to steal gasoline from a motor home. The thief stuck his hose in the tank and began the syphoning process. But he had put the hose into the sewage tank instead of the gas tank. The owner of the motor home found him curled up outside, vomiting. His sin found him out. King David is rightfully known as one of the greatest saints in Scripture, identified uniquely as the “man after [God’s] own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14 NLT). But it is also true that David is known as one the greatest sinners in Scripture. On the one hand, we remember him for his heroic exploits and his tender heart toward God and others. But on the other hand, we remember him for his sins of adultery and murder and his attempt to cover them up. Ultimately, the prophet Nathan confronted David about his sin and told him, “From this time on, your family will live by the sword because you have despised me by taking Uriah’s wife to be your own” (2 Samuel 12:10 NLT). But thank God for second chances, because this was during the time that David wrote Psalm 32, which begins, “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!” (verse 1 NLT). David had tried in his own ability to cover his sins but with no success. But when God covers our sins, they’re gone forever. We can’t cover them, but God can. We can’t get rid of them, but God can. God not only covers our sins; He cleanses them.
