The scoffers tell us that the miraculous reappearing of Israel as a nation in 1948 has nothing to do with the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. In spite of God’s supernatural protection of the nation through many wars, the naysayers tell us there’s nothing to see here and insist that the church is now the recipient of God’s kingdom promises. On May 14, 1948, Israel again became a nation “in a day,” which was precisely what the prophet Isaiah predicted would happen (Is. 66:9). However, there are many more reasons to regard today’s Israel as occupying a key role in the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Its Current State of Unbelief Some say that the current state of Israel cannot be the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies because of its unbelief and waywardness. However, they fail to recognize that this is precisely how the book of Ezekiel pictured the initial reemergence of the nation (Ezekiel 37:1-14). The Lord took the prophet to a “valley” that “was full of dry bones.” Later, He told Ezekiel, “These bones are the whole house of Israel” (Ezekiel 37:11). Throughout the passage, there’s a progression from dry skeletal remains to that of resurrected people filled with the Holy Spirit. The prophet first heard a “rattling of the bones” and watched as they gained the appearance of human beings with flesh covering the previously bare bones, but yet with “no breath in them.” The last stage was “an exceedingly great army” fully alive and invigorated by the Holy Spirit. What the prophet witnessed in that brief time was the full restoration of Israel, which would take place over many years. What we see today is Israel standing on its feet, but not yet a fully restored nation such as will happen at Jesus’ return to the earth. The Preoccupation of the World with Jerusalem Another Old Testament prophet accurately predicted the world’s current fixation on Israel and, in particular, Jerusalem. “The oracle of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the spirit of man within him: ‘Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it’” (Zechariah 12:2-3). Do we not see this prophecy playing out in real time today? The nations all around Israel are attacking and threatening to destroy Israel. World powers have become fixated on Jerusalem as they seek to resolve the crisis or join in the battle should the crisis become an all-out war. The U.S. has one-third of its naval forces in the Middle East. Is it possible that what we see today could lead to the time when “all the nations of the earth will gather against” the tiny nation? This is a certain outcome given the hostility of the world toward Israel and the Jewish people. The Never-Ending Quest to Bring Peace to the Middle East God’s Word predicts that the antichrist will someday make a covenant with Israel, which he will break at its midpoint (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15; 2 Thessalonians 2:4-5). Isaiah also refers to it as “a covenant with death,” which the nation will regard as one of protection, or of peace (Isaiah 28:14-18). Although this prophecy will not reach fulfillment until after the Rapture (2 Thessalonians 2:3-8), the groundwork for it has been building for many years. The last seven U.S. presidents have, at some point during their term of office, sought to bring peace to the Middle East. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has also expressed great interest in bringing peace to Israel. Vladimir Putin of Russia has stated that a two-state solution is the only road to settling the crisis. Is this not what one would expect before the appearance of someone on the world stage who has the charisma and power to guarantee peace for Israel? He will succeed where others have failed. The nonstop battles with enemies amid constant threats of a much larger attack are even now preparing the leaders of Israel to accept what the antichrist will someday propose. His betrayal will become a factor in many Israelites turning to Christ at the end of the Tribulation. The Passion for the Third Temple The current passion within Israel to build a third temple is a precursor to the fulfillment of another prophecy regarding Israel. It’s another definitive sign that the modern-day reappearance of Israel is not some fluke as many would have us believe, but it’s rather God’s doing and a sign that we live in the last moments of human history. As I wrote in a previous article, The Biblical Necessity of a Third Jewish Temple, the nation of Israel must reappear in history, construct a third temple, and watch as the “man of lawlessness” defiles it and claims to be the God of Israel. Based on the words of Scripture, we know this has not yet happened. It’s for these reasons and more that we see modern-day Israel, even in its current wayward state, as the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Why do so many pastors and teachers tell us that Israel’s existence today has no significance for Bible prophecy? They see the same words in Scripture that we do but tell us they cannot refer to Israel. More than interesting to me is the gold the American athletes won for the apex nation of the world in relationship to another object of gold. That object is the infamous “golden cup” described in the Bible—first in Jeremiah 51:7 and second in Revelation 17:4. My fascination centers around the wickedness surrounding the Paris Olympics. The games began and ended with blatant bookends of evil ostentation to anyone watching proceedings from the biblical Christian perspective. More about my thoughts on all this later. America burst forth from history’s slow-motion movement with brilliant inventiveness that would mystify if viewed from any perspective other than that of Bible prophecy. The stunning achievements within the mix of that quantum leap continue to engender awe. Human genius almost certainly had to have been infused with supernatural influence in accomplishing the exponential progress humanity has achieved within one hundred years. We have moved, within that time, from traveling at speeds horses can run to streaking at the speed of light through communications technologies. The United States of America has been the nation at the very heart of the explosion of human technological progress. We have no peer in this regard. Just as God’s hand of providence guided the founding fathers in bringing the country to birth in 1776, so His omnipresence inspired the American genius and industry resident in the nation to achieve things essential to opening the book of end-times prophecy. The prophet Daniel’s words resonate in our day: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:4) This ranks as perhaps the foremost signpost encapsulating our generation’s place on God’s prophetic timeline, when considering the question about whether America is anywhere in Bible prophecy, even if not mentioned specifically by name. The prophet’s words tell us: 1) There is a book that has written in it the end of all things regarding the human realm. 2) That book was purposely shut, in order to not reveal details about the end. 3) The book was sealed during Daniel’s time, and no one would be able to break that seal. 4) The world would experience a great population explosion near the end. 5) The people of that future time would go at a phenomenal speed, literally to and from points all over the earth. 6) Humankind’s knowledge would increase tremendously. Many, including myself, believe this detonation of knowledge at the very end includes an understanding about end-of-days prophecies from God’s Word, as well as human knowledge that has erupted like at no other time in history in what we now call the Information Age, which has grown out of the creation of the computer. The major implication in the first part of the prophecy is that the book of understanding end-times matters would be opened at the time of the running “to and fro,” and of the exponential increase in knowledge. Therein is the validation of our claims that this generation is bumping up against the very end of the age, and that the signals we are witnessing today are, indeed, signs of Jesus Christ’s soon return to the earth. Again, the United States is inarguably the matrix out of which the geometrical progression of knowledge, thus the spectacular increase in our ability to travel to and from anywhere on earth, has grown. The unsealing and opening of the book Daniel was told about by the angel might well have taken place during one specific incident about which we’ve all learned in our rudimentary studies of American history. The occurrence certainly seemed an explosive epiphany, with God reaching down to man in a spectacular fashion. More than coincidentally, I am of the firm conviction, one of America’s most famous founding fathers was the recipient of this brilliant stroke from the heavens. Benjamin Franklin’s Shocking Experience Benjamin Franklin, whom we know as one of the key founders of the US, in fact appropriated through his God-inspired genius the key to the greatest discovery of humankind. His use of a key opened up new vistas dreamed of by only a very few inventive minds in previous history. Franklin believed electricity could be harnessed from lightning. So, he tested his theory in 1752 by using a contrivance we’ve all become somewhat familiar with by way of our history books. Mr. Franklin was knocked on the seat of his pants in a shocking discovery, as we know. American Industriousness on Display Of course, much groundwork was laid by others as well as Americans for the explosion of modern technological achievements. But it is American industriousness—a genius for taking groundwork laid and rocketing into the future with that foundational creativity—that makes the US unique among the nation-states of history. Electricity and its many fantastic applications has continued to power the still-surging explosion of knowledge and travel in the twenty-first century. Like ancient Babylon, America has been a “golden cup” in the hand of God: Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. (Jeremiah 51:7) What a dichotomy! Babylon was considered a “golden cup” when in God’s hand when equating the use of that cup to export the wickedness on a worldwide basis, as described by the prophet! We see that same “golden cup” next in the hand of the whore of Babylon—the false religious system—as she sits astride the Beast: And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. (Revelation 17: 4) In both cases—the nation Babylon and the prostitute astride the Beast—God’s Word speaks to His judgment and wrath because of worldwide rebellion against His governance. To my thinking, this absolute turning from the God of Heaven was manifest for all to see with the graphic display leading into and out of the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. America, which sure looks similar to the Babylon mentioned by the prophets Jeremiah and John, has exported wickedness as have no other people in human history because of the tremendous technologies it has been instrumental in developing. No such instrumentalities have made this more possible than electricity, computers, satellites, and the burgeoning artificial intelligence. And these are being used by the Ephesians 6:12 minions, both demonic and human, to make the world ready for Satan’s son of perdition, Antichrist. America could well be pointed to as possibly being that “golden cup.” Certainly our most blessed nation in all of humankind’s history fits the description. And it looks as if the American “golden cup” of exported evil to the rest of the world will be used in God’s righteous indictment as He sits as judge to bring down the anti-godliness described by Jude: And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. If you look closely enough, you will see that many of those vehicles actually have people sleeping in them. At this point, millions of Americans are sleeping in their vehicles every night. This is happening even though we are being told that the economy is just fine. But of course the truth is that the system is failing all around us. So if you get to sleep in a very warm bed in a very warm home, you should consider yourself to be very blessed, because vast numbers of people are really struggling right now. The primary reason why so many people are living in their vehicles is because the cost of living has soared to unprecedented heights. In particular, the cost of housing has become extremely oppressive. In fact, housing in the United States has become more unaffordable than it has ever been before. This week, I was stunned to read about a 33-year-old man named Ishan Abeysekera that is paying $2,100 a month to share a house with 23 other people… In a city as notoriously expensive as New York, it’s common to see people in their late 20s and early 30s living with roommates to help manage the high cost of living. But Ishan Abeysekera has taken that to the next level with his current living situation in Brooklyn: a communal building that he shares with a whopping 23 other people. “When I say I have 23 housemates, people are like ‘What? That sounds wild,’” Abeysekera tells CNBC Make It. “But actually, it’s quite nice.” That is nuts! Who would pay that much to live with 23 total strangers? Of course most Americans can’t afford to pay $2,100 a month for housing. For example, it is being reported that some flight attendants that work for American Airlines are “sleeping in their cars” because the pay is so low… Most new flight attendant hires are required to live in cities like Dallas, Miami, and New York, which have high costs of living that they cannot afford, Hedrick noted. American flight attendants are sleeping in their cars, she said. Some of them fight for trips just for the chance to eat the plane meals, if the pilots don’t take their meals first. “Our new hire flight attendants are struggling,” Hedrick said, adding that new hires most strongly rejected the 17% hike. When I was growing up, I always thought that those that were selected as flight attendants had very good jobs. But those days are long gone. In this economy, many flight attendants can’t even afford a place to live. Of course there are millions of others in a similar position. In recent years, “van life” has become quite trendy, and more than 3 million Americans now fall into this category… “Van life” or “van living” is a term that is becoming more popular around the country. People packing up their lives, moving into a mobile unit and exploring the states. According to Yahoo Finance, the number of American van lifers has increased by 63% over the last couple of years, going from 1.9 million in 2020, to 3.1 million in 2022. In the old days, if you lived in a van down by the river you were considered to be a bum. But in this economy, living in a van down by the river is just considered to be normal. Needless to say, there are some “van lifers” that choose the lifestyle because of the freedom it offers. But there are many others that have been forced into this lifestyle. A woman named Michelle Rose that used to own a home in Montana is one of them… Three and a half years ago, at the beginning of the pandemic, Michelle Rose was about to lose her Montana home, was having issues with her job, lost her mother, and put everything she owned into a van to live in it permanently. “I was like let’s just do this, let’s just sell the house and get on the road and we will figure out things as we go. It has sort of been a by the seat of my pants kind of life,” said Rose. Michelle says that finances are the hardest part of van life for her, it is a constant worry and finding work is also challenging. Another woman named Katie that “works as a manifestation coach and at a local coffee shop” admits that it was a tough mental adjustment when she started to live out of her vehicle… Katie J., who works as a manifestation coach and at a local coffee shop, spoke about the mental legwork she had to work through in order to reach a sense of belonging in the community. “Van life is fun and cool and saves money and it’s flashy on Instagram and stuff,” Katie J. said, “but it will bring up a lot for you to work through when it comes to not having roots somewhere … I’m a black woman and I’m already rare in Truckee as is, so to be also living in a van, I had so much stuff around that, so much shadow work to do around the limiting beliefs and feeling like I’m not supposed to be here, and I shouldn’t be parking here and I’m gonna get in trouble.” A lot of these people have jobs, and a lot of these people would not be officially classified as “homeless”. But the cost of living crisis has driven them to the brink of losing everything. Unfortunately, our leaders never seem to learn. They keep borrowing and spending money at an unprecedented rate, and this continues to create even more inflation. If you can believe it, our government is even spending “up to a quarter million taxpayer dollars” to teach Iraqi kids how to be climate activists… The State Department is offering up to a quarter million taxpayer dollars to an eligible nonprofit to teach Iraqi teenagers about climate activism. Iraqi high schoolers could receive “Eco Action Clubs” bankrolled by taxpayers that will teach them how to advocate for environmental reform in their home country, according to a grant solicitation posted by the State Department earlier this month. The clubs will have several objectives, ranging from developing an “eco-agenda and action plan” which will generate “climate change solutions” to running a social media campaign to increase awareness of the climate crisis. We are literally committing national suicide, but most of the population doesn’t seem to care. Every election cycle, the big spenders are sent back to Washington over and over again. Meanwhile, more Americans are being forced to sleep in their vehicles with each passing day. Please do not look down on those that have been forced to sleep in a vehicle, because with a bit of bad luck just about anyone could end up in the same situation. Biblical Illiteracy Is at Astonishingly High Levels In The Church, New Study Reveals – By Ken Ham - https://harbingersdaily.com/biblical-illiteracy-is-at-astonishingly-high-levels-in-the-church-new-study-reveals/ Is the exodus from Egypt a New Testament or Old Testament event? What about the crossing of the Jordan, the healing of a man born blind, a miraculous escape from prison, or the healing of Naaman’s leprosy? It’s hard to believe, but according to a new study, 1 in 10 “American Protestant Churchgoers” (11%) can’t answer those sorts of questions. The survey asked this question, “Of all the stories found in the Old Testament of the Bible, which one is your favorite?” (As a side note, I don’t believe we should use stories when talking about the Bible as story means “fairytale; not true” in our culture today. So I’ll use “biblical accounts” throughout this blog). Of those surveyed, 11% answered with an account from the New Testament, not the Old. Another 10% either couldn’t identify a single account from the Old Testament or had no favorite passage. Biblical illiteracy is rampant. Interestingly—and not surprisingly given our research—the second-most-popular account is Noah and the ark (marginally surpassed by the exodus and Moses), and when combined, 32% of favorite accounts were from Genesis. The study also looked into churchgoer’s confidence in their ability to quote, summarize, or accurately recall various accounts—and the results were dismal. For most of the accounts they asked respondents about, around 25% of respondents said they could only provide a quick overview of each account (some, like Noah’s ark, had higher degrees of confidence than others). Now that might not seem too bad—after all, 24% of churchgoers claim they can recite all of Daniel and the lion’s den from memory, and 39% think they could accurately summarize it, and numbers for other popular accounts were in that ballpark. But the study also had a control—and that’s where it gets worrisome. The study asked respondents about the story of Romulus and Remus. Now note that I said story this time. And that’s because this is a mythological account from the ancient Romans to explain how Rome and the Roman civilization were founded—by twin brothers, fathered by the god Mars and cared for briefly by a wolf and a woodpecker. One brother later kills the other, among other atrocities. It’s certainly not real history and is nowhere found or mentioned in the Bible. So what did survey respondents say when they were asked about the story of Romulus and Remus? Only 39% recognized this story is not part of the Bible. Only 4 in 10 churchgoers! The others believed it was in the Bible but that they “couldn’t tell any of it” (33%), an astonishing 16% said they could “give a quick overview,” 6% said they could recall most of it, and 1% even said they could recite it from memory! It’s shocking that 6 in 10 churchgoers were unable to recognize that a Roman myth isn’t in the Bible. And, for me, that calls into question the honesty of their answers regarding other biblical accounts! Biblical illiteracy is at astonishingly high levels in the church. So many Christians don’t know their Bibles because they aren’t reading them, and they aren’t receiving biblical teaching from all of God’s Word in their churches. They know a few fuzzy basics and that’s about it—and that’s dangerous because it’s God’s Word that changes hearts and minds, that is powerful, and that is our weapon in this spiritual battle we’re in. Without God’s Word, Christians are weaponless and largely defenseless, unable to effectively live for Christ. And we have no excuse. We have more access to God’s Word in print, audio, digital, and even video formats than ever before. Think about the many people groups who don’t yet even have any of the Bible in their language. We have more access to good Bible teaching, study helps, and resources. And yet Christians are apathetic, their Bibles are dusty, and their children are left to glean their worldview from the culture with a moral lesson thrown in during Sunday school each week. It’s a far cry from the commands throughout Scripture that God’s Word be constantly on our lips and in our hearts and minds. Daily Jot: The Nothingburger Address - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com She began her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention with the familiar Kamala Cackles that has been her trademark. Her speech was marked by shrillness and arms flailing about not even synched by points of emphasis. How this person could ever be president is beyond imagination. No vision. No specific policies or ideas of how to correct the problems that the Biden Administration created—inflation, lack of border security, foreign policy issues and wars. It was an incredible lightweight speech with little to no substance. After days of Democrat after Democrat pounding the negatives of Donald Trump, Kamala Harris offered nothing to give Americans beyond what already is. She said, “With this election, our nation has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitterness, cynicism, and divisive battles of the past. A chance to chart a New Way Forward….You can always trust me to put country above party and self. To hold sacred America’s fundamental principles. From the rule of law. To free and fair elections. To the peaceful transfer of power.” Yet her party and the Biden Administration has intentionally contributed to the bitterness, cynicism and division with harsh rhetoric against any who disagree with her crazy ideas. And once again, she brings up peaceful transfer of power without mentioning that voter security and election integrity are fundamental to free and fair elections. She said, “Over the past two years, I have traveled across our country. And women have told me their stories. Husbands and fathers have shared theirs. Stories of: Women miscarrying in a parking lot…Getting sepsis…Losing the ability to ever have children again… All—because doctors are afraid of going to jail for caring for their patients. Couples just trying to grow their family…cut off in the middle of IVF treatments. Children who have survived sexual assault, potentially forced to carry the pregnancy to term. This is what is happening in our country. Because of Donald Trump.” First, you don’t grow your family by aborting your babies. And these unnamed, undocumented stories that she is claiming have nothing to do with the Supreme Court sending abortion law to the states or Donald Trump. True healthcare these days is denied to no one. Kamala asked the questions: “Why exactly is it that they don’t trust women?” Who doesn’t trust women? The party who supports men posing as women to be allowed in women’s sports, women’s bathrooms, grooming female children to cut off their breasts and mutilate their bodies to transition to being men. How does any of that promote the mental, physical health, safety, and general welfare of girls and women? Kamala Harris offers nothing more than what has been going on—no solutions, no vision, and no hope for what is good and right in this country. Isaiah 40:31 says, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Put your hope in the Lord, as there is no such hope in Harris. When God speaks of the future, when He tells us of the events that are going to unfold in human history, He knows what He is talking about. That’s because God can see into eternity. Speaking through the prophet Isaiah, God said, “Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done” (Isaiah 46:9–10 NKJV). God knows “the end from the beginning.” The arrangement of those words is striking because it’s the exact opposite of the way that humans know history. We are limited by time and space and learn about things as they unfold in time, from the beginning to the end. But God says, “I know the end from the beginning. I already know what will happen.” He is eternal, infinite, perfect, and timeless. Therefore, if God tells us when certain things will happen, we can take it to the bank. When we read Bible prophecy, we can be sure that it is always accurate and that these things will happen just as He has said. And not only does God know about the universe, not only does He know about every little bird that falls to the ground, not only does He know every thought that we think, He also searches us and knows us. He knows the intimate details of our lives. The psalmist David wrote, “O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me” (Psalm 139:1 NLT). The word examined in the original language means “to pierce through.” We sometimes speak of seeing through a person, meaning we know someone’s real intentions. In God’s case, this is literally true. And on more than one occasion, this was a source of particular irritation for people around Jesus because He could read their minds. He read the minds of His disciples. And He reads our minds today. We must remember, as the adage says, that Jesus is the unseen listener to every conversation. He is the unseen guest at every table. There He is, taking it all in, aware of everything. Sometimes, we forget things, but God doesn’t forget anything, except that He chooses to “never again remember [our] sins” (Hebrews 8:12 NLT). He has knowledge of all things. Now, if you’re trying to run from God, that is a cause for concern. It means that your efforts will meet with failure. But if you’re walking with God, that brings great comfort because that means you will never be alone. David went on to say, “You go before me and follow me.
