So much is going on in the world right now that it is truly difficult to keep up with it all. I have a number of things that I wanted to share with you today, and so I decided to throw all of it into one article. Before I get into some of the developments from the other side of the world, let me give you a quick update on what is happening in Chicago. Yesterday I wrote about how law enforcement authorities were bracing for enormous anti-Israel protests, and it is a good thing they were prepared to intervene because on Monday a group of crazed protesters successfully breached the security perimeter that was supposed to protect the DNC… Protesters broke through a portion of the security fence on West Washington Boulevard. Chicago cops could be seen running to confront the demonstrators. There was a brief standoff between the police and protesters. Officers donned riot gear as they faced off with the large crowd. At least four protesters were arrested, according to Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling. A woman was seen being led away in handcuffs, while a man was carried away by several officers. The good news is that it appears that nobody was seriously hurt. But this is not what the Democrats wanted. What they wanted was a nice, calm convention during which they could attempt to convince everyone that the new Kamala Harris is not the same as the old Kamala Harris. Several days ago, on Tisha B’Av, silver trumpets were blown on the Temple Mount for the very first time in nearly 2,000 years… On Tisha B’Av, the day commemorating the destruction of the Jewish Temples in Jerusalem, Josh Wander brought his silver trumpets specially made for use in the Temple to the Machkama building. Built about 700 years ago, it is currently used as a Border Police station. The building faces the Western Wall Plaza but juts out over the Temple Mount. This was a highly significant moment for Jewish people all over the globe, and I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about this. WATCH: https://youtu.be/BrNyqRlimeE These silver trumpets were designed to be copies of the silver trumpets that were used in Solomon’s Temple, and Josh Wander had previously blown them at a couple of important events here in the United States… After exhaustive research and under strict rabbinic supervision, Josh Wander, a resident of the Mount of Olives, has recreated the silver trumpets from Solomon’s Temple. Josh blew these trumpets at the National Religious Broadcasters’ Conference in Tennessee and at CPAC in Washington DC, both attended by Donald Trump. As mandated by the Bible, Josh blew the trumpets for the IDF troops as they went out to war against Hamas in Gaza. Also on Tisha B’Av, a magnitude 5.4 earthquake greatly shook areas of Syria and Lebanon. It is being suggested that this may have prevented a large attack on Israel that was planned for that day. The following comes from the Jerusalem Post… In our collective memory, Tisha B’Av has always been a solemn day, marked by the destruction of the First and Second Temples. This year, however, the day bore witness to what many of us view as a modern-day miracle—a testament to divine intervention that could not have come at a more crucial time. Reports confirmed a 5.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Syria and Lebanon, profoundly impacting the region. This was not just any seismic event; it may have served as an unanticipated yet divine act that thwarted a grave threat against the Jewish nation. Hezbollah, an established proxy of Iran, had been preparing to launch an attack on Israel—a direct affront planned deliberately for Tisha B’Av. Many of the group’s underground tunnels, teeming with armaments, may have been reduced to rubble by an act of God to protect His children, which could effectively halt Hezbollah’s nefarious plan before it could materialize. It is hard to perceive it as mere coincidence that the earth shook on the very day Hezbollah had intended to send Israel into mourning once more. With tunnels collapsing and their arsenals buried, what could have been a devastating assault turned into a day of bewildering relief and gratitude. Could it be possible that there was a connection between the blowing of the silver trumpets and the earthquake that rattled Syria and Lebanon? I don’t know, but that is definitely a very interesting question. I do believe that all-out war is coming to the Middle East. But the time for that all-out war has not arrived just yet. Elsewhere, Russian President Vladimir Putin just did something that made me chuckle. He signed a decree that allows those seeking to escape the “destructive neoliberal ideological agenda” that is dominant in so many western countries to apply for temporary residency in Russia… President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a decree allowing foreign citizens and stateless individuals to apply for temporary residency in the country if they share “traditional Russian spiritual and moral values,” even in cases when a person does not speak Russian. The decree states that those who oppose the “destructive neoliberal ideological agenda” in their home country can seek “humanitarian support” from the Russian authorities by applying for a temporary residence permit. It also tasks the government and Foreign Ministry with creating a list of countries Moscow considers to be “pursuing a destructive neoliberal agenda” within 30 days. The radical agenda of the liberal elite is most certainly destroying the western world. But Russia is definitely not a paradise either. And I don’t know why anyone would consider moving to Russia at this point, because if they have the slightest suspicion that you might be a spy you could end up in some horrifying prison for many years to come. The last thing that I wanted to mention in this article involves the Shroud of Turin. A team of scientists examined it using “wide-angle X-ray scattering” to determine when the cloth was originally manufactured… For the new study, scientists at Italy’s Institute of Crystallography of the National Research Council conducted a recent study using wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS). The technique measures the natural aging of flax cellulose and converts it to time since manufacture. The team studied eight small samples of fabric from the Shroud of Turin, putting them under an X-ray to uncover tiny details of the linen’s structure and cellulose patterns. So what did they discover? Well, they were able to determine that the cloth was consistent with another linen sample that was from the land of Israel in the first century… ‘The data profiles were fully compatible with analogous measurements obtained on a linen sample whose dating, according to historical records, is 55-74 AD, found at Masada, Israel [Herod’s famous fortress built on a limestone bedrock overlooking the Dead Sea],’ reads the study published in the journal Heritage. In other words, this study strengthens the argument that the cloth on which the image appears is about 2,000 years old. Needless to say, this will provide even more fuel for debates over the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin. As you can see, a lot has occurred over the past several days. And I believe that the pace of events will accelerate even more as we approach the end of 2024, because we have entered a time of great chaos for the entire planet. Sadly, most people do not understand what is taking place. Most people just assume that life will eventually “return to normal”, but that simply is not going to happen. Election Predestination? – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2024/08/19/election-predestination/ The title of this commentary will likely grab the attention of many who are fascinated by the conundrum presented to the finite mind: How can God, who is omniscient, have known in eternity past that most of His creation called humanity would go to a lake of fire prepared for the devil and his fallen angels? Yet God still isn’t willing for anyone to perish; He wants all to come to repentance—meaning that people must have the free will to choose or reject God’s offer of salvation. Well, this is the wrong article if solving that infinite query is your quest. I mean this title to indicate an examination of this presidential election and God’s omniscient foreknowledge about all involved and the outcome. To what extent is all this predestined by Heaven’s governance? To those who believe in God being in complete control of everything at all times, there can be little doubt. God reached down on July 13, 2024, and turned Donald J. Trump’s head at the precise moment a speeding bullet was about to enter the presidential candidate’s skull. Even pundits totally opposed to Trump stated that the near miss was providential. The Lord of Heaven, then, is certainly intervening in America’s electoral process. God Himself has made it quite clear that He is doing so. He has intervened before—for example, in the 2016 election, many of us believe. Mr. Trump was given almost no chance of winning against Ms. Clinton. But win he did. However, with the miraculous turn-of-the-head moment as Trump was addressing the rally throng, God asserted that those wanting the former president removed from the process, no matter the method, would not get their way. At least not on that occasion. What does the Lord’s obvious statement mean in terms of the election this year? I, like you and everyone else, have no idea. The only thing I can add with certainty is that God did make that statement. He does nothing without great purpose. This is especially true when the statement–the intervention—is so blatantly done in front of the entire world. This makes me quite excited about just what it does, in fact, mean: what it means to America, what it means to the election, what it means in terms of God’s prophetic timeline. That anticipation is found in the prophetic insight Paul gave all believers: Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:13) Those who have read my series, “Scanning a Fearful Future,” know my long-held belief is that if America were to suffer a catastrophic fate that would bring the nation down to rubble, the entire world would suffer in a way that it would take decades, perhaps longer, to ever get back to business as usual. Business as usual is exactly what the Lord Jesus said would be the condition when He next intervenes in the affairs of wicked, rebellious humankind. That condition is outlined in Luke 17:28–30—the “as it was in the days of Lot” prophecy. Jesus said all of life’s business—buying, selling, building, marrying, and planting–would be going on when He next catastrophically intervenes into the human condition. A calamity that destroyed the US would be a world-rending matter because the nations of the world are so intricately linked to America. This being the case, Jesus’ intervention must take place before America’s demise or world-rending circumstances, such as total economic collapse or World War III. That intervention will be the Rapture of the Church—all who believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. Jesus told us that it would be just like the day when God removed Lot and his family from Sodom. The righteous will be taken to be with Christ. The word for “taken” is the Greek word paralambanó. It is the word used when the Lord said “one would be taken and the other left” in His Olivet Discourse describing how it will be at the time of the Rapture. This is the same Greek word used by Jesus as recorded in John 14:1–3 when He said, “I will receive (paralambanó) you unto myself, that where I am there you may be also.” All that said, it is more than obvious that the minions of Ephesians 6:12, both demonic and human, are doing all they can do to destroy America as founded so they can bring about the changed global order essential to establishing the one-world rule of Satan’s son of perdition—the Antichrist. The following article outlines just how they are attempting to do so with this presidential election. Here is the link; check it out: (HERE) Yet the God of Heaven has this luciferian force in derision through God’s Great Restrainer, the Holy Spirit, resident within the Church. The fact that Donald Trump was supernaturally spared that day in Butler, Pennsylvania, is proof of that derision and restraint, I have no doubt. Again, I have no idea what our Lord is up to in all of this intrigue. But it is fascinating and even infused with great expectation as this November approaches. Has He predestined this election to serve His prophetic purposes? As the title of our website would have it, being “Rapture ready,” which Paul the apostle exhorted in the above Scripture, is most appropriate. And the Lord Jesus makes that a commandment for the Christians who will be on the earth when He next is revealed, as given in the “days of Lot” prophecy. The allegations echo claims made by global “public health” leaders arguing that everything from gun violence and racism to global warming are “public-health” emergencies requiring urgent action. The international news media was largely silent on the important Rio summit, even as more and more officials and “experts” warned of a potential bird-flu pandemic that could cause unprecedented fatalities. The U.S. government is already funneling taxpayer funds to Moderna and other Big Pharma interests under the guise of preparing a bird-flu “vaccine.” Meanwhile, policymakers and Big Pharma officials are preparing for the “International Bird Flu Summit” in D.C. from October 2-4. The objective of the summit is to prepare for, among other possibilities, a “mass fatality management planning,” delivery of “vaccines,” and “surveillance,” the website for the event explains. “With the emergence of a highly virulent strain of bird flu affecting both cattle and humans, it is imperative that we come together to discuss preparedness, response strategies, and the future implications of this evolving situation,” the site continues, urging government officials, bureaucrats, and Big Pharma operatives to sign up. That is all happening as the World Health Organization prepares for an emergency meeting to discuss the possibility of declaring a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern” this week. If the “PHEIC” is declared, the WHO purports to have broad authorities to combat the “emergency” even as it seeks to usurp broader powers still. At the CEPI summit at the end of July, an unspecified “Disease X” was officially the topic of discussion — the same subject addressed by the most recent WEF summit in Davos. But growing hysteria surrounding bird flu and even monkeypox suggests either or both may soon be declared an “emergency” supposedly justifying global Covid-style tyranny. “CEPI’s business plan says there is to be a series of pandemics and there will be only one countermeasure response — mass vaccination,” explained Dr. Peter A. McCullough, one of the first doctors to sound the alarm about the suppression of legitimate early Covid treatments as well as the now-obvious problems with the “vaccine.” “Nowhere in the CEPI business plan is there mention of therapeutics and treatment of patients for an acute illness,” he told The New American. “CEPI is essentially a vaccine incubator fully syndicated in the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex which has positioned itself for massive investments and profits with the COVID-19 pandemic being a template.” However, the model is dangerously flawed, explained the prominent physician and cardiologist who exposed the “Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex” in a major book and who gained an international reputation as a top medical leader during Covid. “Vaccines should never be used in widely prevalent pandemics since they foster resistant strains and are destined to fail and prolong the pandemic,” he said, echoing concerns of other leading experts in the field. Still, despite the possible effort to try the same CEPI business plan again, Dr. McCullough said he did not think Brazil or the world would “fall for it” again. CEPI’s background is causing great concern among the medical experts who exposed the Covid tyranny. Consider that it was created as a partnership between Big Pharma, billionaire population-control zealot Bill Gates, and the pro-Communist China World Economic Forum (WEF) founded by “Great Reset” peddler Klaus Schwab. The group practically wrote the script for the Covid pandemic in its 2017 business plan, Harvard-trained psychiatrist Dr. Peter Breggin — author of COVID-19 and the Global Predators: We Are The Prey — told The New American by phone. His book devotes almost an entire chapter to the shady organization. “This is just catastrophic,” Breggin said when asked about the pandemic meetings. “They got more than they ever could have imagined with Covid. They can’t wait to hammer us again.” “They now know that all they have to do is fake a terrorizing event of any kind whatsoever — a disease or something else — and the whole world will cave in,” explained Dr. Breggin, widely known as the “Conscience of Psychiatry.” While CEPI remains an obscure organization as far as the public is concerned, it has played a major role behind the scenes in everything from pandemic response to seed-funding the mRNA injections deployed under the guise of fighting Covid, Breggin warned. For instance, CEPI seed-funded three “successful” Covid vaccines, including the Moderna mRNA shot. “It doesn’t even matter what it is, they just need to scare us and get our president and all the other governments to step up the totalitarianism and take our wealth,” warned Breggin, who has labeled those responsible for the Covid disaster as “global predators” who seek to kill and enslave. “In our first book, we called CEPI’s preliminary business plan the actual plan for the entire unfolding of what happened with COVID,” he continued. “The CEPI business plan was developed with all the villains — they all had input — and they did the dirty work afterward.” Breggin also pointed to CEPI boss Dr. Richard Hatchett and his connections to U.S. biodefense agency BARDA, as well as his successor, Rick Bright. Among other posts, Bright served at the Rockefeller Foundation, which in 2010 released a report that included a section called “Lockstep,” which imagined a pandemic resulting in a draconian global governmental response almost exactly like what happened with Covid a decade later. “He’s the one who stopped hydroxychloroquine,” said Breggin, noting that HCQ was known to be effective in the fight against Covid. The controversial players and organizations involved with CEPI, which is fully aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), suggest that Breggin is right to be concerned. CEPI co-founder Gates, for example, famously said at a 2010 Ted talk, “If we do a really good job with new vaccines, health care and reproductive health services, we can lower that [global population] by 10-15 percent.” Gates has also repeatedly celebrated the genetic-engineering component of mRNA injections. Meanwhile, Schwab and his WEF — key partners behind CEPI — have been building up the mass-murdering Chinese Communist Party for decades while seeking to impose its “model” on the world. Global “health” bureaucrats are also key, hammering their usual talking points during the Rio summit. “We need … science and political resolve to come together as we prepare for the next pandemic,” declared World Health Organization boss Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, a former ethno-Marxist terror leader installed to lead WHO by Bill Gates and the CCP. “Advancing our knowledge of the many pathogens that surround us is a global project requiring the participation of scientists from every country.” Tedros continued by threatening humanity with more danger from more pandemics if politicians did not jump on the bandwagon. “History teaches us that the next pandemic is a matter of when, not if,” he said. “It also teaches us the importance of science and political resolve in blunting its impact.” The leader of CEPI, former leader of the U.S. military’s controversial “biodefense” bureaucracy Dr. Hatchett, also hinted at the agenda in his official comments for the Global Pandemic Preparedness Summit. “WHO’s scientific framework for epidemic and pandemic research preparedness is a vital shift in how the world approaches countermeasure development, and one that is strongly supported by CEPI,” explained Dr. Hatchett. He added, “As presented at the Global Pandemic Preparedness Summit 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this framework will help steer and coordinate research into entire pathogen families, a strategy that aims to bolster the world’s ability to swiftly respond to unforeseen variants, emerging pathogens, zoonotic spillover, and unknown threats referred to as pathogen X.” CEPI is a perfect example of the WEF-backed “stakeholder” model, in which Big Business and Big Government team up in a fascist-style partnership. In fact, even officially, CEPI’s goal was to forge partnerships between governments, the business sector, and phony tax-exempt “philanthropies” to develop and push vaccines for future pandemics. In reality, the model simply removed natural checks and balances between government, business, the press, and civil society organizations by bringing them all under the same umbrella. Remaining dissenters not dependent on the machine are then marginalized, demonized, censored, and, in some cases, attacked. Leading vaccine peddlers associated with the machine such as Dr. Peter Hotez are now calling for deployment of the military and NATO against those who resist the mass-vaccination-at-gunpoint agenda. In the months leading up to Covid, the WEF and the Gates Foundation teamed up to host “Event 201” at Johns Hopkins, war-gaming the totalitarian response to a novel respiratory virus. The exercise featured incredible similarities with what actually happened just a few months later. Critics of CEPI suggested these conferences could be playing a similar role. The goal of all these efforts does not appear to be protecting humanity from pandemics, genuine health experts say. Rather, it all seems aimed at allowing powerful forces to extract enormous amounts of resources from the public under the guise of creating “vaccines,” and then protect everyone involved from liability and accountability when the public is maimed and killed by the allegedly “safe and effective” products. The U.S. government is fully on board with the agenda of CEPI and its elements. In fact, just last month, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that it would be funneling over $175 million of Americans’ taxpayer money to Moderna, the disgraced company behind the failed and deadly mRNA Covid “vaccines.” “We have successfully taken lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic and used them to better prepare for future public health crises,” claimed HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, an advocate of mutilating children under the guise of “gender affirming care.” “As part of that, we continue to develop new vaccines and other tools to help address influenza and bolster our pandemic response capabilities.” “Importantly, we are doing this work in partnership with some of the nation’s leading scientists and clinicians,” Becerra continued. “The Biden-Harris Administration won’t stop until we have everything we need to prepare for pandemics and other public health emergencies that impact the American public.” All of this federal spending is not just unwise, it is unconstitutional. Now that even the National Institutes of Health’s own leaders have admitted under oath that NIH deliberately and knowingly funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a much better way of protecting humanity from pandemics (and “plandemics”) would be to hold everyone involved in the last one accountable. It is past time for CEPI, the WHO, and all their allies to be criminally investigated for a wide range of violations. If prosecutors and law enforcement continue to delay, Covid migth look like a walk in the park compared to the dangers being “prepared” for by CEPI in Rio and the WHO in Geneva. The clock is ticking. An especially egregious form of lawlessness is that of government itself refusing to uphold its highest laws and fundamental principles. For instance, China’s constitution “guarantees” freedom of speech and of religion. But those are just words on paper with no meaning in the real world. Now we see Britain and the EU turning their own lofty proclamations of fundamental human rights into meaningless drivel. Sadly, the United States seems headed in the same direction. Recent riots in London spooked the whole UK. Some began to speak on social media of civil war in Britain, including some Americans. This evoked a threat from greater London’s Metropolitan Police Commissioner. “Whether you’re in this country committing crimes on the streets or committing crimes from further afield online, we will come after you.” He spoke of extraditing “the likes of Elon Musk.” This prominent UK law enforcement figure actually threatened to extradite, prosecute, and jail Americans for saying things the British government doesn’t like. Does the UK think it can bully Americans into silence? Could they use an extradition treaty to reach across the Atlantic, snap pesky Americans up by the napes of their necks, then haul them back to the UK for trial and imprisonment? I’m not worried about that happening any time soon, but that we have come to a point where it is even mentioned, much less threatened, is extraordinary. Article 10 of the UK’s Human Rights Act says, “Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority.” But in England these days, holding a sign that officials deem “insulting” can get you thrown into prison. Even the nations that hold freedom of expression most dear, do not allow speech that clearly and immediately provokes violence. But the UK seems to have equated “incitement to riot” with anything the elites don’t like. Quoting Jesus or Ghandi can potentially get you thrown in jail. But that’s not enough. They want to use extradition treaties to control the words of Americans as well. Holding and expressing an opinion — even a wrong one — is protected by the US Constitution, the UK Human Rights Act, and the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union also “guarantees” freedom of expression. Yet, a few days ago, the EU’s Commissioner for Internal Markets joined in the threats against Elon Musk. He warned Musk that if he went through with his planned interview of Donald Trump on X (formerly Twitter), he could be guilty of spreading “harmful content.” He threatened Musk with massive fines and even X’s expulsion from Europe for holding an interview with one of the two major party candidates for US president. In the United States, we call that election interference from a foreign government. The Bible depicts the antichrist rising in power after the rapture, then taking an unprecedented level of control over people’s personal lives, including their finances, speech, and religious faith. Those who turn to Jesus after the great catching away, will be persecuted mercilessly. In the time between now and the rapture — however long or short that time may be — we should not be surprised to see growing Christian persecution as the world increasingly embraces the “spirit of antichrist” (1 John 4:3). Many already see faith in Jesus as a “dangerous ideology.” We should work and vote to support Constitutional rights for all. But we should place our trust — not in government or in an individual leader — but in God Himself. Governments will let us down, but God remains forever faithful. Always remember the words of Jesus in John 16:33. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” Daily Jot: Christians involvement in Government - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Many have written in about whether Christians should be involved in government and politics. Some say their pastors are preaching from the pulpit that Christians are members of a higher kingdom and should not be involved with government and politics. Another popular preached position is that the scriptures say that we must submit to, rather than engage, the governments because they are placed over people by God. Yet another position taught is that Christians should take over governments because they must establish the kingdom of God here on earth as a prerequisite for Christ to return. These various teachings are wrong-minded and many are twisting scripture to make their case. Here is why. There is nothing in the Bible that man must establish the kingdom of God on earth so that Jesus Christ can return. Only the Father knows when Christ will return. He will return when the Father directs him. Christ alone will establish his kingdom. It’s all there in the scriptures. On government, we find Moses in Exodus 18 spending all his day interpreting the law and settling disputes. Moses’ father-in-law introduced the “representative” system of government in verse 21: “Moreover, you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.” America’s Founding Fathers used this precept to establish the US governmental system. Moreover, whether they were Christians or not, the Founders knew that man’s imperfections prevented him from being a just and moral lawgiver. They, therefore, recognized that God had created man with certain rights and to protect those rights governments were instituted. To protect the people from government becoming tyrannical, the Founders uniquely established a government by rule of law, derived from God’s laws, with checks and balances under the Constitution. Peter and the Apostles made the point of man’s unjust and imperfect law-giving when they told the Sadducees (who ruled over the Jews in submission to the Roman government) in Acts 5:29 when the Sadducees again tried to prevent them from preaching Jesus: “We ought to obey God rather than men.” Paul wrote in Romans 13:1, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that are ordained of God.” It is telling us to submit to the governments and do good beneath them. It is not contradictory to Peter and the Apostles in Acts 5. Here in America, the government governs at the consent of the governed under the law. We the people essentially are the boss of the government. We are to hold the government accountable. If we are to take what Paul wrote in Romans 13 and apply it to Americans, it would mean that Americans should submit to Americans under God’s derived law (The Constitution). Good stewardship is to preserve this unique system for it is a tremendous blessing to have freedom of speech, of worship, and of evangelizing. It is a God-given blessing. In the troubled times in which we are living, it certainly gives us hope to know there are angels around us, angels watching over us, and angels guiding us. But the promise of angelic involvement is only for the child of God. The Bible says, “For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him” (Psalm 34:7 NLT). Throughout the Bible we find stories of angelic intervention, and one of the most known stories of angelic deliverance is that of Peter, whom King Herod put in prison for preaching the gospel. Herod also had imprisoned James before Peter and had put him to death. The great apostle found himself chained to guards in a Roman prison, and it was a relatively hopeless situation. So, what did the church do when they faced this crisis? Did they organize a boycott of all products made by Rome? Did they picket the prison? Did they organize a march? No, the Bible says they began to pray. And in answer to their prayers, God dispatched an angel who literally opened the door for Peter’s deliverance. When we pray, God may send angels to bring the answers to us. The Book of Daniel gives us an interesting behind-the-scenes look at angelic involvement in the prayer lives of God’s people. The prophet was praying on one occasion, and immediately, his request was heard in Heaven, and an angel was dispatched with the answer. But while the angel was on his way to Daniel, an apparently high-ranking demon power opposed him. This angel sent from Heaven was unable to subdue this demon power, so the Lord called out one of the higher-ranking angels, Michael, and sent him to intervene and set the other angel free. Meanwhile, Daniel wasn’t even aware of what was going on. All he knew was that he offered his prayer to God. But instead of getting an immediate answer, he waited and waited. Sometimes, we pray for something that we believe is the will of God, something that we think God should do, and then we wait and wait. We might be praying for the salvation of a loved one, for physical healing, or for divine guidance. Yet we hear no answer. And we falsely conclude that God isn’t listening. But we never know what is going on behind the scenes. There may be an angelic battle happening, even while we’re praying. For twenty-one days, this angel was hindered, but finally, the praying prophet received an answer. This Old Testament account makes clear that delays are not necessarily denials. If something doesn’t happen as quickly as we would like it to, it doesn’t mean that God isn’t listening. It just may be that something else is happening. We don’t know how many times angels intervene in our lives, getting us out of tight situations, protecting us from harm, and even speaking directly to us. They are indeed, as Billy Graham referred to them, God’s secret agents.
