These signs are shaping up at breakneck speed. When Jesus was asked about the signs of His coming, one thing He said was: “When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree [Israel], and all the trees [nations]; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things [signs] come to pass, know [don’t assume; know] ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. “And take heed to yourselves [don’t get careless], lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares [catches you not watching]. For as a snare [like a trap that slams shut like when God closed the door to the ark in the days of Noah] shall it come on all them [them, not us; all unbelievers] that dwell on the face of the whole earth [all over the world]. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luke 21:28-36). All the signs indicate that society is fast approaching the Rapture and Tribulation Period. Our generation could very well be the Terminal Generation that will never die (Jn. 11:25-26). Here are some of the signs that seem to indicate this: One, on June 21, 2024, it was reported that Brexit leader Nigel Farage (head of a political party called Reform UK) was debanked. He pointed out that Canada’s government froze the bank accounts of Canadian truckers who were protesting draconian COVID mandates. When asked who is doing this, Farage said global and banking institutions, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development OECD), the Bank of England, the European Union (EU), and the United Nations (UN). When asked how people can combat this, Farage said,

Two, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on July 10, 2024, the U.S. and Germany announced that the U.S. will deploy long-range Tomahawk and newly developed hypersonic missiles in Germany in 2026. Russia called it a serious mistake. (More: On July 13, 2024, Russia’s Pres. Putin warned the EU that deploying U.S. missiles to their countries would put their capitals in danger, and deploying long-range missiles to Germany could spark WWIII.) Three, concerning deceit and a population reduction: on July 11, 2024, it was reported that the Heritage Foundation’s Nonpartisan Commission on China and COVID-19 found that the pandemic caused 1,476,457 excess deaths in the U.S. from 2020 to 2022 and cost the U.S. more than 18 trillion dollars, but no one has been held accountable. Four, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on July 12, 2024, Russia urged Israel to refrain from attacking Syria and warned that continued attacks on Syria might lead to dangerous consequences. That is, there is chaos in every direction we look. There is a sense of a mighty shaking within the stratospheric global powers that be. Rather than making the great progress toward instituting their much-ballyhooed Great Reset, those powers are, while God restrains, bumping in a lurching fashion against one barrier after another to their blueprint to Build Back Better. It is as if they sense viscerally that they must have everything in place no later than the year 2030 for whatever is coming next in the evolution of humankind. We have looked at before in this column the human-centered drive toward having everything in place for the Great Reset. Now, with the turmoil boiling more intensely by the day, with America’s unique position of nation-state dominance, but in chaotic upheaval politically, the holdup to implementation of their “Build Back Better” effort is exacerbated. Here, again, is the story of the dilemma the New World Order-builders face. The United Nations will meet in September for the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, as well as the highly-anticipated “Summit of the Future” where nations will sign the so-called “Pact for the Future.” The Pact is expected to call for declaring a “planetary emergency.” What does this agreement and its policies mean for the future of individual and national sovereignty? By the end of September, the United Nations member states may vote to radically alter the UN itself, what some are calling UN 2.0, and the very nature of how nation-states make decisions regarding the future of the planet. The UN will convene for the 79th session of the General Assembly in New York City starting on September 10th in New York City. The high-level general debate will begin on the 24th of September. Although the UNGA is an annual meeting, this year’s gathering will be unique because of the addition of the Summit of the Future, a UN sponsored event taking place in NYC on the 22nd and 23rd of September. The summit has been in the making since at least 2022. It is the latest attempt by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to “rally the troops,” and garner more support for a rapid completion of the Agenda 2030 goals set by the UN in 2015. In May 2023, Guterres revealed that efforts to complete Agenda 2030, and the corresponding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were failing. Guterres warned that only 12 percent of the SDGs were on track to be completed. He said progress on 50 percent of the goals is “weak and insufficient,” while 30 percent of the SDGs have “stalled or gone into reverse.” He predicted that if the current trend holds only 30 percent of nations will accomplish SDG1, focused on poverty, by 2030… For those reading between the lines and seeing through the buzzwords, the language of these documents rings of globalist-speak intended to override or outlaw national and individual sovereignty in favor of world government. A new monetary system, a renewal of the multilateral system – all of this is designed to sell the public on the idea that the UN (or some new international body) is needed to take humanity safely into the future. In truth, we are likely to see major steps towards the creation of a one-world government at the Summit for the Future. Some prophecy watchers from the pre-Trib camp have offered that the fall of this year might be a time particularly likely for God’s Great Reset to take place. Certainly, with all things shaping for the Tribulation seeming to be front and center, both resets might coincide at any moment. You want to be caught up into God’s Great Reset when Christ calls all believers to Himself–not caught in the satanically spawned reset on planet earth that will bring on the worst time of human history. Here is how to go to Jesus when He calls in the Rapture. It features unexpected plot twists, loads of melodrama, intriguing personalities, deep mysteries, and even violence. But presidential politics is not a mere spectator sport. Patrick Mahomes’ next touchdown pass will have little effect on the education of your children, the safety of the street where you live, the availability and cost of housing in your community, or the future of your job. But US Presidential elections impact all of that. They touch everything from the price of hamburgers to the fate of entire industries. Such elections alter the course of nations — and not just our own. They also alter the course of each of our lives. Some such elections are more consequential than others. If Stephen Douglas or John Breckinridge had defeated Abraham Lincoln in the election of 1860, history as we know it would be dramatically different. Five years later at Ford’s Theater in Washington, history changed course again. How different would the world be if the man assigned to guard Lincoln’s presidential box had not left at intermission to join friends at a nearby tavern? History often turns on small things, even a small movement of a man’s head. Maybe you’ve seen photographer Doug Mills’ Trump rally photo that includes the streaking blur of a bullet just after passing through the top of the former President’s ear. It was that close. You don’t need a computer animation to see that if his head had been held in a slightly different position or at a slightly different angle, he would have been killed. Though President Trump was spared, the event was still deadly. You know about Corey Comperatore, the 50-year-old former chief of the Volunteer Fire Department of nearby Buffalo Township, who threw himself between the shooter and his family. His daughter Allyson wrote on social media, “He was a man of God, loved Jesus fiercely, and also looked after our church and our members as family…. He died a real-life superhero…. He shielded my body from the bullet that came at us. He loved his family. He truly loved us enough to take a real bullet for us.” David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 54, are said to be recovering now after receiving critical injuries during the same shooting. These things are painfully real. Presidents appoint people to lead agencies like the Secret Service. Those choices matter, as do our choices on election day. And so we pray. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NASB) says, “I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” Those words were written during the reign of Nero, one of history’s most notorious men. The point is to pray for all who govern us, good and bad. Scripture then gives pragmatic reasons for such prayer — so that we may live “tranquil and quiet” lives “in all godliness and dignity.” What we call politics is neither a game nor a show. We pray for our leaders, but we do not pray for God’s blessing on a leader’s evil intentions or wrong ideas. We pray knowing that God can open blind eyes. He can grant enlightenment and a change of heart. He can help even bad leaders to make good decisions. Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes.” As we progress further into the last days, we will see things that are not at all tranquil. But at such times, more than ever, we should pray for leaders. To do so blesses whole nations. It also blesses those we know and love, including our families. The Coming Transformation of Israel - Paul J. Scharf - https://sharperiron.org/article/coming-transformation-of-israel There will be a great spiritual transformation of Israel before Christ’s final return. Those before us in Dispensational Theology developed the scriptural conviction that the people of Israel will one day be saved as a nation in their Promised Land. Dispensationalists taught this boldly—as was the case when The Friends of Israel was born in 1938, even before the modern State of Israel existed. But this clear, biblical teaching has fallen on hard times, and many are conflicted. Some reason that modern Israel simply cannot be the people that God promises to bring back to the land because the nation is largely unbelieving. They see its current presence in the Middle East as entirely inconsequential. Such thinking misses the mark entirely. Israel’s return to its land is an event unparalleled in all history. The idea that the nation’s restoration is utterly unrelated to the biblical predictions regarding Israel’s future seems to strain credulity. I agree with prophecy scholar Dr. Thomas Ice’s statement: “Modern Israel is prophetically significant and is fulfilling Bible prophecy.”1 Yet, Israel today remains largely in unbelief! How can this possibly be the result of God’s work? A Two-Phased Return Just like numerous prophetic events, Israel’s return takes place in two distinct phases. Ice explains: … readers of God’s Word need to be careful to distinguish which verses are being fulfilled in our day and which references await future fulfillment. In short there will be two end-time regatherings: One before the tribulation and one after the tribulation.2 Ezekiel 36 and 37 clearly demonstrate this reality. Both chapters speak of both aspects of Israel’s return and restoration. Utilizing a writing style common in the Hebrew Scriptures, chapter 36 gives us the broad overview, then chapter 37 retells the story, providing additional details for emphasis. Ezekiel 36:24 promises that God will bring the people of Israel “from among the nations … out of all countries.” The Jewish people’s return from the Babylonian/Medo-Persian captivity that commenced under King Cyrus of Persia in 539 BC (Ezra 1:1–4) does not fully encompass this prophecy. Something far greater will happen as the world approaches the end times. In Ezekiel 36:25–38, we see that the people of Israel will be spiritually transformed once they come back “into [their] own land” (v. 24). The land itself also will be physically transformed and will one day “become like the garden of Eden” (v. 35). The key is understanding that this transformation takes place with the people in the land. Astute Bible students know that Israel must be back in the land, constituted as an unbelieving nation, to submit to a covenant with the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27). That covenant will mark the beginning of the Tribulation. Even at the midpoint of the Tribulation, Jerusalem will still be “spiritually … called Sodom and Egypt” (Revelation 11:8). Ezekiel 37—the well-known dry bones passage—reemphasizes this pattern, showing that Israel will be regenerated spiritually only after returning to its land. It is there that the lifeless bones of the people of Israel will come alive again (vv. 1–21). Then, finally, the whole nation and land will be transformed (vv. 22–28), which will involve the permanent reunification of all 12 tribes (v. 22), a political revival (vv. 24–25), and a spiritual renewal in which the land will house God’s “sanctuary … forevermore” (v. 26). Zephaniah 2:1–2 teaches explicitly that God will “gather” the “undesirable nation,” which will take place “before the LORD’S fierce anger comes upon” them. This is the chastening of the Tribulation, the purpose being to bring Israel to repentance and to receive its king (Zechariah 12:10). Only then can there be a final, spiritual regathering in preparation for His Kingdom (Matthew 24:31). The Great End-Time Revival How will such wonders unfold during the days of the Tribulation? The people of Israel must return to their land as an unbelieving nation. God will confront them and draw them to their Messiah through the gospel ministry of the two witnesses (Revelation 11:3) and their 144,000 disciples who will be sealed from “all the tribes of the children of Israel” (7:4). Together, these end-time ministers will help bring the salvation of a countless multitude of Gentiles (vv. 9–17), as well as “all Israel” (Romans 11:26; cf. Zechariah 13:8–9). God has long been bringing the Jewish people back to their ancient homeland. Many return in unbelief, but God will bring them to faith and spiritual life in the land before their ultimate return to receive all the blessings He has promised them in the coming Kingdom. We must proclaim these biblical realities with certainty and conviction. As Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum writes, When the Bible speaks of a worldwide regathering of the Jewish people, it speaks of two distinct events. … First, there is to be a worldwide regathering in unbelief in preparation for judgment—specifically, the judgment of the tribulation. That is to be followed by a second worldwide regathering in faith in preparation for blessing—specifically, the blessing of the Messianic kingdom. … Once it is recognized that the Bible speaks of two such regatherings, it is easy to see how the present State of Israel fits into prophecy.3 Believers who firmly grasp Israel’s coming transformation will be reinforced in the hope “that He who has begun a good work in [us] will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). May God help us clearly comprehend His revealed plan for Israel in the future and for us who trust Him today. Notes 1 Thomas D. Let’s start there.” These two quotes are Joe Biden introducing Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the NATO Summit on July 11 and responding to the first question from Jeff Mason of Reuters in his recent solo news conference also on July 11. No matter how the “party” faithful and news media are spinning Biden’s declined state of cognitive and physical condition, it is increasingly obvious something has been amiss for a long time. The White House official transcript corrected Biden’s statement about vice president Trump by crossing his name out and replacing it with Harris: “THE PRESIDENT: Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump [Harris] to be vice president did I think she was not qualified to be president. So, let’s start there. Number one.” Video posted on Twitter shows various reactions of cringe by Biden’s cabinet members and staffers witnessing the answer. The gaffes by Biden have been pretty commonplace since he took office, although they are increasing in frequency in recent weeks. Members of the news media and politicians on both sides of the political aisle are questioning Biden’s mental competency to run for reelection. A contentious news briefing was held Tuesday, July 9 where there were many questions about Biden’s mental health and whether he has Parkinson’s Disease, his napping habits, whether his wife Jill makes presidential decisions, and if Hunter Biden has attended White House meetings where classified information is discussed. One interesting exchange was between Fox reporter Peter Doocy and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Doocy asked, “So, say that the Pentagon at some point picks up an incoming nuke; it’s 11:00 p.m. Who do you call? The First Lady?” Jean-Pierre responded: “He has a team that lets him know of any — of any news that is pertinent and important to the American people. He has someone — or — that is decided, obviously, with his National Security Council on who gets to tell him that news.” In other words, the obvious answer is that other unelected people serve as decision-makers when the “president” is not available. Commander in Chiefs should not leave such urgent national security concerns to bureaucrats on the National Security Council. So the debate rages as to whether Biden should run for reelection. In reality, if this is the debate before us, shouldn’t the real question be: Is Biden fit to serve out his term? That is what people should be asking and demanding a full scale, truthful, analysis from doctors and cognitive experts. Whether he should run for reelection is a red herring. 2 Timothy 3:13 says, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” There is a whole lot of deception going on with American politics and government. Daily Devotion: A Better Kind of Happiness - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. —Matthew 5:6 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/a-better-kind-of-happiness/ - Listen The Bible gives a completely different view of happiness than this world gives. According to Scripture, happiness is never something that we should seek directly. Rather, it is always something that results in seeking something else. If we seek holiness, we will find happiness. Jesus said, “God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied” (Matthew 5:6 NLT). As we align our wills with God’s will, the rest of our lives will find the proper balance. The Bible uses the words happy and blessed interchangeably. This kind of happiness is based not on circumstances but on a deep, supernatural experience of contentedness that comes from our lives being right with God. Now, this is the opposite of popular wisdom, which essentially says that to be happy, we must do this or have that. But in Psalm 1, we find God’s description of a happy person: “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do” (verses 1–3 NLT). Notice this psalm begins with negative thinking, not positive thinking. God tells us what we must not do before He tells us what we must do. He warns us of certain things that can be perilous to us spiritually, certain things that we must avoid. If we want to be truly happy, if we want to flourish, God is telling us what will be poisonous, destructive, and counterproductive. Thus, we must guard ourselves against the things that will harm us. We’re living in a time when it seems as though everyone is watching their weight. And, of course, as the years go by, some of us have more weight to watch. We become aware of things in our food like calories, fat, and carbohydrates. We are concerned about things like that because we don’t want to get heavier. In the same way, we want to avoid the things that would hinder our growth as followers of Christ. There are things that we may engage in, things that we may do, that could be detrimental for us spiritually. They might hold us back from the life that God wants us to live. Here is a simple litmus test to apply. Ask yourself, “This thing that I’m about to do, does it build me up spiritually? Does it promote growth in Christian character? Is it spiritually constructive?” There may be things in our lives that tear us down spiritually because they tear us away from the people of God. Or, they dull our hunger for the Word of God.
