Netanyahu Knows Israel Is Marginalized Under Biden, But Has No Choice Other Than to Say ‘Thank You’ – By Breanna Claussen - https://harbingersdaily.com/netanyahu-knows-israel-is-marginalized-under-biden-but-has-no-choice-other-than-to-say-thank-you/
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to the United States started on rocky footing on Monday with a notable absence of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Sec. of State Antony Blinken to welcome him upon his arrival. Netanyahu’s important speech on Wednesday before Congress was also overshadowed a mere day before his arrival in Washington, DC, by Biden’s announcement that he is dropping out of the Presidential race this November. Netanyahu and Biden are scheduled to meet on Thursday, during which Netanyahu plans to thank the President for his support for Israel, a move Jan Markell, Founder and President of Olive Tree Ministries, believes will be done out of simple obligation. “Obviously, he knows he’s been so marginalized under Joe Biden,” Markell underscored to American Family News (AFN). “I think it’s going to be a very, very awkward time.” “Bibi’s been a lifelong politician. He knows he’s got to say the right thing at the right time, and right now, he has to say that Joe Biden is a great friend,” she described. “90% of us know that’s almost laughable.” “But remember, America still gives Israel $3 billion dollars,” Markell noted. “What are you going to say to the President of the country that gives that little nation $3 billion dollars? You’re going to say, ‘Thank you.'” Netanyahu will also be traveling to Mar-a-Lago to see fmr. President and Republican nominee Donald Trump the day following his conversation with Biden. While his decision to meet with Trump drew ire, Netanyahu defended his decision, stressing the “great importance to the State of Israel that the prime minister will meet with President [Joe] Biden and the two leading candidates for the US presidency.” During his time as President, Donald Trump became known for his exceptional support of Israel. His pro-Israel actions included the moving of the US embassy to Jerusalem, ripping up the Iran Nuclear deal, placing heavy sanctions on the terror funding regime in Tehran, and recognizing Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. The same level of support could not be said of the Biden Administration, which has placed constant pressure on Israel during its war with the terrorist organization Hamas and shamefully worked to withhold arms from Israel to apply leverage against an IDF operation in Rafah. After months of fruitless conversations with the Biden administration, Netanyahu was left with no other choice but to publicly address the “inconceivable” withholding of arms. Shortly after, Senator Tom Cotton lambasted Biden for playing political games, calling it “deliberately misleading the American people and insulting a key ally.” The Israeli PM’s current visit to the United States was not an easy road. Earlier this year, he was forced to cancel his scheduled trip to the US capitol in response to the Biden administration’s refusal to veto an anti-Israel resolution in March that demanded a ceasefire in Gaza with no contingency on the release of Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas. The significant decision by the US not to block the “harmful resolution,” which was supported by Russia and China, was referred to by Netanyahu as an “abandonment of policy” that “gives Hamas hope.” On May 31st, American Congressional leaders signed a letter formally inviting Netanyahu to address Congress after pressure from House Speaker Mike Johnson. Johnson stressed the importance of the “ironclad” relationship between the US and Israel and gave a deadline to Democrat leaders, warning he would move forward with the invitation with or without their approval. Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Riverside recently cautioned the United States that God’s blessing on America is contingent upon our nation’s treatment of Israel. “It is in the best interest of the United States of America to stand with our loyal ally, the nation Israel,” Laurie urged. “God made a promise to Abraham years ago; He said, ‘I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you’ (Genesis 12:3). One of the reasons God has blessed the United States is because we have stood by our friend Israel.” Hezbollah And Israel Approach the Breaking Point – Dror Doron - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=7119 Rockets have rained down from Lebanon over northern Israel for the nine months since the Hamas attack on Oct. 7 of last year. But the 466 deaths on Hezbollah's side and the 33 on Israel's--mostly fighters and soldiers--are only the beginning. With eyes otherwise on Gaza, this simmering conflict has been largely overlooked, but now the world must brace itself for a direct and fierce war between Hezbollah and Israel. Acutely aware of this possibly for some time, the United States has stepped up its diplomatic efforts, including repeated warnings to Hezbollah and Lebanese officials that they must take Israeli threats of retaliation more seriously. But these attempts are failing for two reasons: First, each side is backing itself into a spiral of escalation; second, the conflict is not just between Hezbollah and Israel--it is also between Israel and Iran, Hezbollah's backer. The spiral of escalation manifests itself through Hezbollah's ongoing cross-border attacks while signaling through its propaganda machine that it has the military capabilities to strike at the heart of Israel and beyond the northern border. Israel, unwilling to accept these provocations, is forced to respond and defend its territory, prompting further attacks. Further, Hezbollah has successfully linked the cessation of its attacks on northern Israel to the outcome of the ceasefire talks on Gaza. The U.S. has accepted this linkage, which Hezbollah views as a significant diplomatic gain with the full knowledge that Israel is highly unlikely to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza anytime soon. By not challenging this linkage, the U.S. appears to be implicitly accepting the logic of Hezbollah's decision to launch its unprovoked attacks on northern Israel in solidarity with Hamas. Hezbollah is also encouraged by the lack of U.S. pressure on the Lebanese government to fulfill its responsibility to prevent Lebanon's soil from being used to attack a neighboring country. Without such pressure, there is little hope that any existing domestic opposition to Hezbollah's unilateral decision to trigger a border conflict with Israel could become influential in the Hezbollah leadership's cost-benefit calculations. The cold reality is that without an uncompromising and credible threat from the Biden administration that it will hit Hezbollah hard with military action in full support of Israel if the attacks continue, the chance of Hezbollah stopping its attacks is almost nil. Such an uncompromising and credible threat could stop Hezbollah in its tracks, but it is unlikely to be even a remote possibility given the fluctuating support the U.S. has given Israel over Gaza and the lack of wholehearted support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is unlikely to change when Netanyahu meets President Joe Biden in Washington this week. Furthermore, Washington has refrained from taking a firm stand even against ongoing Houthi strikes in the Red Sea despite the loss of American lives and the clear threat the Houthis pose to international freedom of navigation and their violations of maritime law. Even if Israel were to enter a direct conflict with Hezbollah, there is no certainty of firm and unwavering American military support. Additionally, if the presidential election brings a second term for Donald Trump--who was tougher on Iran in his first term than the Biden administration has been--a Trump presidency will be unpredictable and unwavering support for Israel is not guaranteed even in those circumstances. Hezbollah and its patrons in Tehran know this all too well and are stepping up their actions. Better armed than Hamas, Hezbollah's war strategy against Israel will combine defensive and offensive tactics to leverage its fortified positions embedded in civilian environments and extensive arsenal. Defensively, Hezbollah will use a sophisticated underground network in southern Lebanon, including tunnels and bunkers within Shi'ite villages to conduct surprise guerilla-style attacks and protect its personnel. This network aims to delay and wear down Israeli ground forces while challenging Israel's air superiority with advanced air defense systems provided by Iran, targeting Israeli drones and fighter jets. Offensively, Hezbollah plans to unleash a massive standoff attack using over 150,000 rockets, missiles and UAVs capable of striking any target in Israel. Initially focusing on military assets, Hezbollah will escalate to targeting civilian infrastructure to pressure Netanyahu's government. By inflicting significant damage on Israel and provoking an international response due to humanitarian concerns in Lebanon, Hezbollah will aim to force a ceasefire so it will be able to claim victory by merely surviving a superior military force, reinforcing its narrative of resilience and resistance. If this military scenario sounds familiar, it should come as no surprise because it is how Hamas has conducted its war in Gaza with Tehran as the architect of the elaborate regional network of terror proxies that include not just Hezbollah but also Hamas, the Houthis and the Shi'ite militias in Iraq and Syria, coordinated by the U.S. terrorist designated Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). The election of Iran's new president in recent weeks will do nothing to change this, as those malignant regional policies are decided by the supreme leader and his IRGC advisers. Indeed, Iran may exploit the image President Masoud Pezeshkian has in the West as a so-called "reformer" to lull the U.S. and its allies into a false sense of security. Furthermore, given the support offered to Iran by Russia, China and North Korea, the implications for peace and stability in the Middle East and the implications for global trade and the economy are serious beyond what many appear to contemplate at the moment. By overlooking Iran's malign influence, Washington's Middle East policy will not succeed. A revised U.S. strategy is therefore required. It must recognize Iran as the instigator, demand accountability for its proxy activities in Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq, and reestablish American deterrence. As the U.S. shifts focus to the Indo-Pacific, Iran sees a chance to reshape regional power. Ignoring Tehran's provocations now will likely force U.S. intervention later under far less favorable conditions. The Percentage Of Americans That Worry They Won’t Be Able To Pay Their Bills Is Higher Than It Was During The Great Recession - by Michael Snyder - https://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/the-percentage-of-americans-that-worry-they-wont-be-able-to-pay-their-bills-is-higher-than-it-was-during-the-great-recession/ Do you remember how painful the Great Recession was? 2008 and the years immediately following were definitely a very dark chapter in our history, but a new study has actually found that the percentage of Americans that worry they won’t be able to pay their bills is actually higher today than it was back then. Slowly but surely, our economic strength has been fading and our standard of living has been falling. Unfortunately, now we have reached a point where a very large portion of the U.S. population is really struggling. According to a CNN poll that was just released, almost 40 percent of all U.S. adults “say they worry most or all of the time that their family’s income won’t be enough to meet expenses”… Many Americans regularly worry they won’t be able to make ends meet. Nearly four in ten (39%) of US adults say they worry most or all of the time that their family’s income won’t be enough to meet expenses, according to a new CNN poll. That’s up from 28% who expressed those concerns in December 2021, and it’s similar to the numbers seen during the Great Recession (37%). To cope, significant shares of Americans said they are adding side jobs, cutting down on driving and putting more expenses on credit cards. If you would have asked me before I saw the results, I would have been quite confident that the number during the Great Recession would have been higher than the number in 2024. Just like everyone else, I remember the Great Recession as such a painful time. Sadly, the economic pain that we are experiencing now is just beginning. Ordinary Americans from coast to coast are being absolutely crushed by rising prices, and that isn’t going to change any time soon. In an article that CNN posted about this new survey, one woman that works for the CDC admitted that she was recently forced to move because costs have risen so aggressively… “The grocery store is just outrageous right now. But it’s not just that. Everything has gone up. Clothing. My insurance,” said Angela Russell, an Ohio resident who works as a program analyst at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Russell, who has two adult children and three grandkids, said she recently moved out of her rental home in Cincinnati in favor of one in a rural area where the rent is cheaper. Other recent surveys have come up with results that are even more alarming. For example, one discovered that a whopping 71 percent of Americans are stressed out about their “ability to afford everyday expenses”… 71% of Americans say they’re stressed by their ability to afford everyday expenses. Americans most regularly spend money on groceries, phone bills, utilities, gasoline and rent/mortgage payments. Grocery bills frustrate Americans more than any other regular expense. Utilities, rent/mortgage payments, gasoline and insurance payments round out the top five most annoying expenses. That is most of the country. Unsurprisingly, younger generations are being hit particularly hard by the pain of inflation… Financial stress levels are highest among millennials (77%), followed by Generation Z (75%) and Generation X (74%). Baby boomers reported experiencing the least financial stress, although at 59% it was still more than half of those surveyed. Those that follow my work regularly know that I tend to rant about rising prices at the grocery store. Sometimes it is hard for me to believe that prices have gotten so high, and it appears that a lot of people out there agree with me. Another recent survey found that 80 percent of Americans have observed a “notable increase” in grocery store prices… According to a study by Qualtrics on behalf of Intuit Credit Karma, 80% of Americans say they have felt a “notable increase” in grocery costs in recent years. More than a quarter of respondents said the increased cost has led them to occasionally skip meals, while about one-third said they spend more than 60% of their monthly income on mandatory expenses such as food, utilities and rent. Food has certainly become ridiculously expensive, but we actually spend far more money on housing. Today, the typical household spends about 12 percent of total income on food and about 33 percent of total income on housing… According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the top three annual expenses for the average American household in 2022 (the most recent data available) were housing (33.3%), transportation (16.8%) and food (12.8%). For most Americans, spending money in these areas is unavoidable. Housing costs have been rising much faster than the overall rate of inflation, and we just learned that home prices reached yet another new all-time record high last month… Home prices hit a new high in June for the second straight month, the latest sign that the housing market is unaffordable to millions of Americans. The spring home-buying season, usually the busiest time of year for the housing market, was a dud this year. Home sales declined in June for the fourth straight time on a monthly basis. The combination of high prices and elevated mortgage rates has made homeownership less attractive to renters and deterred current homeowners from moving. Meanwhile, homelessness in the United States is at the highest level ever recorded and it has been growing at the fastest pace ever recorded. We just can’t keep going on like this. Something has to give. It appears to be inevitable that all of this economic pain will have a dramatic impact on the upcoming election. At this point, approximately three out of every five Americans believe that we are already in a recession right now… You don’t need to be a financial genius to know that times are tough for plenty of Americans. With that in mind, a majority of people actually think the economy is doing even worse than the “experts” say it is. Three in five people believe that the U.S. is currently in a recession, even though we’re not officially in one according to the financial definition. The survey of 2,000 Americans explored what’s driving this lack of consumer confidence in the economy. Inflation and the rising cost of living (68%) top the list of reasons why respondents believe the U.S. is in a recession, followed by friends and family members complaining about money (50%). It is not an accident that this has happened. For more than a decade, people like me have been relentlessly warning that the decisions that our leaders were making would have disastrous consequences, and that is exactly what has happened. And if we stay on the path that we are on, it won’t be too long before we witness a meltdown of absolutely epic proportions. Faithfulness in a Broken Culture (Part 1) – Ryan King - https://sharperiron.org/article/faithfulness-broken-culture-part-1 Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf for in its welfare you will find your welfare. (Jer 29:5, ESV) Jeremiah’s words are not directly for us, but the principles of living as an exile in a foreign land should be heeded by every Christian. We have no lasting city (Heb 13:14), but we do have a responsibility to be active in the culture in which God has sovereignly placed us (Eph 1:11). For many years conservative Christians have neglected the duty to engage in the culture and it has cost us dearly. Every Christian must recognize the fact that we cannot escape our culture. We live in the culture, and we cannot be faithful to the Scriptures without staying in it. In the Great Commission, the Lord commands us to go into all the world to make disciples. As much as we would love to get our favorite people and retreat into a monastery somewhere, this is not an option that results in faithful Christianity. Our culture, even as it continually degrades around us, is the context in which God has sovereignly placed us and in which we must be found faithful. Sadly, in a practical sense, many pastors isolate themselves without being in the community at all. Practical community involvement does not have to add more to the pastor’s schedule. Frequenting the same restaurants, barbershops, and coffee shops, walking in our neighborhoods, and engaging with community leaders can result in great opportunities and pastors should be intentional about getting involved. Part of the problem for us is that as our culture descends into further open wickedness, we do not want to be around it. A love of biblical truth makes the sins of the world repulsive to the Christian. It becomes easier to disengage because we find the sins so off-putting. But we must not retreat. Yes, we must protect our families but that does not require us to withdraw from the culture. Rather, we protect our families by teaching them how to engage the culture biblically. Our children aren’t missionaries, they are disciples, and we must faithfully disciple them while keeping wickedness from them. You cannot be faithful to the gospel if you do not interact with the world around you, and in today’s culture that means being around those who adamantly and openly oppose a biblical worldview. While we cannot be faithful and escape our culture, we also recognize that our culture cannot escape Christianity. Whether or not you think America was a Christian nation, there is no denying that the Judeo-Christian worldview is the context in which our nation was born, and the ethical and moral principles of that worldview permeate everywhere in our culture. Public schools, hospitals, orphanages, and more were begun out of the love that the Church had for the world around it. In the words of Rory Shiner Western culture is “Christ-Haunted.”1 The impact of Christ and His work in His people is everywhere we look. This everywhere presence of Christ in the roots of Western culture opens the door for Christians to speak into every aspect of society. The problem is that we have failed to do so. Christianity has largely lost the cultural battle because we have disengaged with the world around us. In the mid-1900s, many Bible colleges were started but we never went any further. We started Bible colleges for those who would go into ministry and left the other 99% of young people in our churches without biblical education. Very few schools helped build a Christian view of engineering, healthcare, business, or the arts. Many of those that did have a broader offering quickly allowed theological liberalism to take over. Socially, we mostly stood by as abortion, homosexual marriage, birth control, divorce, and more took over our society. For many Dispensationalists, we were so convinced that Christ would soon return that we were thinking about the next five years instead of the next five thousand. We have no idea when Christ may return and should be thinking of our great-grandchildren and not just our immediate context. This is not acceptable because the truth of God’s Word impacts our culture here and now. We are not to expect Christ to conform to the culture around us but for the culture to be impacted by Christ. This impact always comes from Christians and should predominantly be directed by the local church. The activity of God’s people in the world is what will influence it for good or their lack of activity or even their sin will influence it for evil. The Christian is not to shy back from cultural engagement but approach it with boldness and clarity. However, this boldness must be appropriately directed. There is a sense in which Christians may cheer for political conservatives to make a difference in our culture. Generally speaking, conservatism is a good thing that benefits our society, but we must beware of the political “Absaloms” that surround us. Conservatism itself is not the goal of the cultural battle. The aim for the Christian is the righteousness of Christ and the glory of God to prevail. This does not mean that we should not vote for someone who is not a Christian, but we should never put our hope in men (Ps 146). Absalom stood outside the gate of the city to win the hearts of the people away from David (2Sa 15:2).2 Christians must beware of those that speak of things that we would approve, but not claim Christ. We can certainly agree with those who do not follow Christ, but our young conservatives hear people like Vivek Ramaswamy, Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, and others, giving these men more time than they give the Scriptures. It is a simple truth that we become most like what we give the most time to. Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: Biden’s Judicial Reject - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn was nominated on April 30 by Joe Biden to a seat on the US District Court for the Southern District. She then became the only Biden nominee for the federal courts to be rejected by the Senate Judiciary Committee. It also marked the first time in this current congress that a Democrat changed sides and voted with Republicans to reject a judicial nominee. In a 10-11 vote, Netburn went down in flames after Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) defected the party line joined a unified Republican contingency. The vote underscored so many very wrong things about the Democratic Party and the political nomination of radical extremists to the federal court system Netburn was rejected because she ruled to transfer a biological male identifying as a transgender woman to a prison that house biological women. July Justine Shelby, born William McClain, a male posing as a woman, pleaded guilty of molesting a nine-year-old boy and raping a 17-year-old girl and spend 18 years in prison, then violated parole and spent another six years in prison before being released in 2015. In 2017 the transgender pleaded guilty for distributing child pornography. After being transferred to the women’s prison, Shelby complained that the women made it clear that he was not welcome at the prison and he feared being attacked by the “violent females” there. Of the 18 Magistrate Judges in the Southern District, Netburn is the only one with a warning notice on her contact page. It reads:” *** NOTICE*** Members of the public are prohibited from contacting Judge Netburn’s Chambers about matters pending before the Court. It is a federal crime to communicate with the Court with the intent to influence, intimidate, or impede a judge in the discharge of her official duties. Any communications interpreted as such will be immediately reported to the U.S. Marshals Service for further investigation.” All the other Magistrate Judges’ pages just have their contact information. It would appear that the District Court is trying to protect Netburn from the public backlash of her extremist judicial activism that the Senate Judiciary Committee exposed during its confirmation hearing. Here is a situation where a misguided and extremist judge placed a biological male with numerous sex offenses with both male and females into an all-female prison. All but one democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee thought Netburn’s decision was fine. Moreover, Joe Biden nominated this extremist to the Federal court. Her and scores of other extremists approved to the bench are the reasons why the law and the Constitution are being twisted to persecute people who resist or dissent the leftist Marxist agenda promoted by the Democratic Party. Isaiah 10:1-2 says, “Woe to those who enact unjust statutes and issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of fair treatment and withhold justice from the oppressed of My people, to make widows their prey and orphans their plunder.” From top to bottom this is, say it with me, Stupidocrisy. Daily Devotion: Overnight Fruit? - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. —John 15:4 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/overnight-fruit/ - Listen Many people today are looking for a shortcut to spirituality. They’re looking for the quick fix, for the emotional experience that will transform their lives. But there are no shortcuts to spirituality. There is no such thing as a quick fix. There is no emotional experience that will change everything for you. If you want to grow and indeed flourish as a Christian, it will come down to a day-to-day commitment that you make. You won’t see fruit grow overnight any more than you could plant a tree on Monday and eat peaches from it on Tuesday. It takes time. But in time, you will see the results as you’re faithful and consistent in the things that you need to do. In John 15, Jesus compares Himself to a grapevine, God the Father to a gardener, and His followers to fruit. Psalm 1 reinforces the idea: “They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do” (verse 3 NLT). God has planted us, and as we sink our roots deeply into Him, He gives us permanence. Maybe that is why the psalmist David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10 NKJV). The word David used for steadfast could be translated as “stable,” “fixed,” or “constant.” God also gives us productivity. If you are a believer who is walking with God, spiritual fruit will come out of your life. And what is this fruit? Galatians 5:22–23 tells us, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (NLT). Producing spiritual fruit is not an overnight process. It takes time to grow. But in time it comes. The Bible tells us that “God has made everything beautiful for its own time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT). So be patient. It may not happen as quickly as you would like. Lastly, God gives us prosperity. Psalm 1:3 tells us, “Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do” (NLT). Our entire lives—family life, church life, personal life, business life—find balance because we are properly aligned with God. On the other hand, when we don’t have this balance, we will be unhappy people. When the droughts of life devastate others because they have no resources to draw from, followers of Christ have an unfailing source. Sometimes as Christians we grow frustrated because we see nonbelievers prospering, or so it appears. Things are going wonderfully for them, or so it seems. We see people who are dishonest and violate the standards of God, yet things seem to go along wonderfully for them. But just remember, it all evens out in the end. Be consistent. Make a commitment to sink your roots deeply into Him, and you will see spiritual fruit in your life. You also will find happiness in the truest sense of the word.
