The name Hezbollah has been all over the news. Hezbollah was founded by Iran in 1982 by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). Iran has many proxies in Iraq; however, the three major terror organizations they control are Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis in Yemen. Hezbollah means “Party of Allah,” and it is Iran’s strongest proxy. Hezbollah has been firing rockets into Israel almost nonstop since October 8th—a day after the Hamas militants stormed into southern Israel and committed its atrocious massacre. Cross-border fighting has gone on almost daily for nearly ten months, as both sides are firing back and forth. Israel has taken out several key Iranian and Hezbollah leaders during this exchange of fire, and many thousands of Israelis have been displaced in the country’s north. I was reading this week that northern Israel is littered today with what we could call “ghost towns.” Israel has been fighting against Hamas in Gaza, down to the south, but the ongoing question is: when will this northern front with Hezbollah break out? For ten months now, there’s been a great deal of back and forth, but all-out war has been avoided. Israel and Hezbollah have been pursuing a long campaign of almost “low-level hostilities” along the border. However, last Saturday, it appears that Hezbollah may have gone too far. We all saw news of the missile strike in the Golan Heights that killed 12 children between the ages of 10 and 20 who were practicing out on a soccer field. The Hezbollah rocket, fired from Lebanon, hit this soccer field in a Druze-Arab village. The Druze are a people who live in northern Israel, as well as in Syria and Lebanon. There are about a million Duze people today. They are an Arab sect, considered separate from Islam, that believes in a conglomeration of several religions and philosophies. Really, they are an offshoot of Islam. Despite Iran denying any connection whatsoever, the deadly rocket that hit the Druze soccer field was unequivocally proven to have been made in Iran. Tehran’s fingerprints are all over this brutal attack. As mentioned earlier, the missile was fired at a community in the Golan Heights. You may wonder, what is the Golan Heights? The Golan Heights is about a 500 square mile-area in northern Israel that borders Syria. It was captured by Israel in the 1967 war. While it is claimed to be a disputed territory, when Donald Trump was President, it was recognized as part of Israel. Because of its location in proximity to the borders of Lebanon and Syria, it is more accessible to rocket fire. In light of this missile attack, Israel’s security cabinet approved a military response, giving Prime Minister Netanyahu full leeway to respond to this attack. CNN has a headline that says, “The Israel-Hezbollah War That No One Wants Could Finally Blow Up.” Hezbollah’s attack could be the final trigger for this war. Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Monday, “Our response is coming, and it will be severe.” Over the course of a few hours, Israel this week carried out the targeted elimination of Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah’s military chief, who ordered the deadly rocket attack, and Ismail Haniyeh, chairman of Hamas’ Political Bureau, who was in Tehran for the inauguration of Iran’s new President. The world right now is holding its collective breath. Will Hezbollah unleash a full offensive, and what part might Iran play in this war if it breaks out? Hezbollah has at least 150,000 missiles and rockets pointing south into Israel, and many of those projectiles are locked on Tel Aviv. A war would certainly devastate Lebanon, but would also do serious damage to Israel. Now, at the same time that Israel is facing this potential Northern Front war with Hezbollah in Lebanon, Turkey is turning up the heat on Israel in a major way. Earlier this week, they issued a threat of invading Israel. This is a stunning development. A headline from Fox News reads, “Turkey’s Erdogan Threatens To Invade Israel Over The War In Gaza, As Regional Tensions Grow.” This is a shocking and significant escalation by Turkey, which is a member of NATO. Reuters reported: President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Turkey might enter Israel as it had done in the past in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh, though he did not spell out what sort of intervention he was suggesting. Erdogan, who has been a fierce critic of Israel’s offensive in Gaza, started discussing that war during a speech praising his country’s defence industry. “We must be very strong so that Israel can’t do these ridiculous things to Palestine. Just like we entered Karabakh, just like we entered Libya, we might do similar to them,” Erdogan told a meeting of his ruling AK Party in his hometown of Rize. “There is no reason why we cannot do this … We must be strong so that we can take these steps,” Erdogan added in the televised address. Erdogan has also said that Hamas is not a terrorist organization but instead a “liberation group” who are “waging a battle to protect their land and their people.” Meanwhile, he calls Israel a terror state. In a statement on Monday, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry compared Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, claiming his actions in Gaza are “genocidal.” I think we can safely say that the Middle East powder keg is being ignited like never before. The fuse of the Gog-Magog war is beginning to burn, and here we see two of the key players heating up that the Bible says will attack Israel in the end times. In Ezekiel 38:5, we have Persia, modern-day Iran, mentioned, as well as four ancient nations that are located in modern-day Turkey. Iran and Turkey today are in the headlines with the will, the desire, the means, and the motivation to attack Israel. In addition, Hezbollah could easily be part of the “many peoples with you” mentioned in Ezekiel 38:6 that will join Russia, Iran, and Turkey to invade the Jewish State. Iran wants to attack Israel and invade Israel. They already have, and it’s doing so through its proxy, Hezbollah, as we speak. Now, the President of Turkey is threatening to invade Israel. Russia, of course, is the other key player in all this; they are “Rosh” mentioned in Ezekiel chapter 38. It would take little convincing at this point for these nations to join together to form this coalition. These developments show that we’re far down the road to the Gog-Magog war, and ultimately, to Armageddon. It’s another sign to us of the nearness of the coming of Jesus Christ. We need to be ready in how we live our lives each day and what we do to prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ. Netanyahu planned to wait until the end of the Sabbath (Saturday in Israel), but he left the U.S. early to rush back to Israel to deal with a heartbreaking Hezbollah attack on his nation. Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that the end of the age is near: One, concerning the tracking of all buying and selling: Ancestry.com was founded in 1996. It now has more than 22 million people in its AncestryDNA network, plus it has more than 20 billion records on people. In Dec. 2020, a company called Blackstone (not Blackrock, although there are connections) bought Ancestry.com. On July 25, 2024, it was reported that Blackstone CEO Steven Schwarzman is a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum (WEF). This makes him a board member of the WEF and positions him to help fulfill the WEF’s global agenda. This means the WEF now has access to millions of DNA records and billions of other records that will enable them to identify people if they get control of the world’s healthcare, finances, food consumption, etc. Two, the coming New World Order will be a godless world government and false religion under the Antichrist and False Prophet, and I believe the Antichrist will come out of the EU (Revived Roman Empire). On July 26, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris, France (one of 27 nations in the EU) featured a repulsive godless parody of the Last Supper with gays dressed in drag. This blasphemous, unbiblical ceremony was broadcast globally (perhaps viewed by more than 3 billion people). (My opinion: It was not necessary for these transgender people to mock Jesus – or for the Olympic committee to allow it – but they did, and they will regret it for all eternity if they do not repent of their sins and accept Jesus as their Saviour. Jesus left heaven, lived a hard life, allowed Himself to be beaten, stripped naked, and crucified for their sins, and what they did is an affront to an all-powerful God that loves His Son with an unimaginable passion. For Mark Hitchcock’s excellent comments on this, watch a 7 min. video (here) Three, concerning corruption or ineptness in the U.S. Secret Service: it has been reported that agents allowed a man with a rifle to climb a 16-ft. ladder onto a roof with a clear shot at Trump’s speaker’s stand, they let that armed man stay there for about 20 minutes, they let Trump go to the speaker’s stand, and allowed the shooter to shoot for about 16 seconds before they took him out. It is reasonable to think that heads would roll, but on July 23, 2024, it was reported that the Secret Service suggested that Trump’s campaign should stop holding large campaign rallies. The Secret Service blamed Trump, but one of his supporters suggested they need to focus on doing their job. Senator Ron Johnson suggested that Trump’s campaign should hire an independent security expert to oversee security provided by the Secret Service. (My question: If the Secret Service is so corrupt or inept that Trump’s campaign needs to hire someone to oversee what they are doing, why are they needed?) Five, concerning war and rumors of wars: on July 27, 2024, Hezbollah fired an Iranian-made missile from Lebanon that fell in a soccer field in a Druze village on the Golan Heights (now part of Israel). 12 children were killed, about 40 people were injured, and:
The U.S. said it fears that this incident could turn into an all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah. Iran has said it will get involved on Hezbollah’s side if Israel launches an all-out war against Hezbollah. The U.S. and UK have promised to support Israel in an all-out war with Hezbollah:
(Note: In 12 hours, Israel assassinated important terrorist leaders in the capital of Lebanon and in the capital of Iran. Haniyeh was killed in a house about 150 meters from the residence of the Pres. of Iran. Israel is on high alert.) (My opinion: Shukr and Haniyeh already realize they are not in paradise with 72 virgins and wishing that no more members of their family join them. Sad.) Six, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others will attack Israel in the latter days and latter years. On July 28, 2024, Turkish Pres. Erdoğan appeared to threaten to invade Israel in support of the Palestinians and to put an end to the nearly 10-month-old war Israel is fighting against Hamas in Gaza. Erdoğan said: Turkey must be very strong so that Israel can’t do these things to the Palestinians. Just as we entered [Nagorno-]Karabakh, just as we entered Libya, we might do the same to them. There is nothing we can’t do. We must only be strong. (My opinion: There is a lot that Turkey can’t do, and one of them is defeat Israel. God made a covenant to protect Israel, and no nation can destroy them.) (More: On July 29, 2024, Israel’s foreign minister urged NATO to expel Turkey. It probably won’t happen, but we are seeing a growing animosity between Israel and Turkey.) Seven, concerning deceit: on July 22, 2024, it was reported that Kamala Harris is talking like she supports Israel, but she has clearly aligned herself with and supported the anti-Jewish Palestinian protestors in the U.S. that shout “from the river to the sea” and call for an intifada. Eight, concerning the coming global economic collapse, the U.S. debt has now officially topped $35 trillion, and interest on that is close to $5 billion a day. The Biden administration and the mainstream media just kept insisting that everything was just fine even though everyone could clearly see that it wasn’t. But now reality is setting in. Last week we got some numbers that Wall Street really didn’t like, and a massive temper tantrum ensued. The panic that we witnessed on Friday was quite breathtaking, and many are concerned that it could bleed over into the new week. Investors are desperate for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, but so far the Fed has not moved. On Friday, many were surprised when the employment numbers were much worse than anticipated… U.S. job growth cooled sharply in July while the unemployment rate unexpectedly rose to the highest level in nearly three years. The Labor Department on Friday reported that employers added 114,000 jobs in July, missing the 175,000 gain forecast by LSEG economists. The unemployment rate also unexpectedly inched higher to 4.3% against expectations that it would hold steady at 4.1%. It marked the highest level for the jobless rate since October 2021. Please keep in mind that the U.S. economy must produce at least 150,000 new jobs each month just to keep up with population growth. So even if we did add 114,000 jobs last month, we would still be losing ground. But the only reason why the official figure showed an addition of 114,000 jobs last month is because the birth/death model added 246,000 jobs to the final number… Of course, we can’t possibly forget that every jobs number is highly manipulated and rigged, and July was no difference with the Birth/Death model adding a ridiculous 246K “statistical” jobs to the unadjusted print. Which it does not translate apples to apples, one can confidently say that the actual adjusted payrolls number would be far, far smaller had it not been for this ongoing fabrication. It isn’t difficult to get a positive employment report every month when you are “adjusting” the final number by about a quarter of a million jobs that you just “assume” are being created somehow. In any event, even if we take the government’s report at face value, the Sahm Rule has still been officially triggered… That’s because the rise in unemployment triggered the so-called Sahm Rule, an indicator that is used to provide an early recession signal. The rule stipulates that a recession is likely when the three-month moving average of the jobless rate is at least a half-percentage point higher than the 12-month low. Over the past three months, the unemployment rate has averaged 4.13%, which is 0.63 percentage points higher than the 3.5% rate recorded in July 2023. The Sahm Rule has successfully predicted every recession since 1970. Even though this indicator has successfully predicted every single recession since 1970, Fed Chair Jerome Powell insists that it may not be correct this time around… Fed Chair Jerome Powell responded to a question about the rule at a news conference Wednesday following the Fed’s decision to keep the key interest rate unchanged. “It’s not like an economic rule where it’s telling you something must happen.” He continued, “what we think we’re seeing is a normalizing labor market and we’re watching carefully to see if it turns out to be more.” Unfortunately, it appears to be inevitable that the unemployment rate will go even higher because large companies all over America continue to shed workers. In fact, last week Intel announced that it will be “cutting 15% of its workforce”… Months after the federal government gave Intel $8.5 billion in grants to help bring back chipmaking to the U.S., the company said it is cutting 15% of its workforce, which translates to around 17,000 jobs. The tech company announced the job cuts as part of a massive cost-cutting and restructuring plan. Of course Intel is far from alone. Businesses from coast to coast have fallen on hard times, and business bankruptcy filings have risen by more than 40 percent during the past 12 months… Over the past year, business bankruptcy filings are up 40.3 percent, and have now reached a number not seen since the second quarter of 2020, at the peak of lockdowns. American households are following along, with total bankruptcy filings up 16.2 percent in the past year, including 132,710 new filings in the second quarter of 2024 alone. The last time business bankruptcy filings were this high was during the lockdowns in the early days of the COVID pandemic. But we don’t have any lockdowns to blame the current wave of bankruptcies on. What we are witnessing now is really quite scary. Hordes of businesses are failing, and commercial real estate values have been crashing hard… Brookfield owned Gas Company Tower in Downtown LA has plummeted over $400M in value The skyscraper was recently valued at $214.5M It was appraised at $632M just 3 years ago This is a commercial real estate apocalypse Right now, our banks are sitting on gigantic mountains of commercial real estate loans that have gone bad. For many of those banks, it is just a matter of time before they go belly up. But don’t just take my word for it. Recently, a number of prominent experts have been warning that a tsunami of bank failures is on the way… The echoes began in May. Barry Sternlicht of Starwood Capital Group predicted a regional bank failure “every day or every week.” Days later, Newmark Chair Howard Lutnick warned, “Every single weekend a regional bank is going to go bye-bye,” and predicted 500 to 1,000 failures in 2025 and 2026 — as did alternative lenders speaking at the same event. In June, PIMCO’s head of global private commercial real estate joined the chorus. Yes, this is really happening. A tremendous amount of financial chaos is in our future, and most people are going to be completely blindsided by it. There is one thing that the Federal Reserve could do to mitigate the damage. If the Fed started cutting interest rates immediately, that would certainly help. But so far, the Fed has refused to budge. We are being told that the Fed “might” give us a rate cut in September. That isn’t going to do the job. We need help now, because major problems are already starting to erupt all around us. Don’t Stay Silent as The World Runs Headlong Into The Judgment Of God – By Hal Lindsey - https://harbingersdaily.com/dont-stay-silent-as-the-world-runs-headlong-into-the-judgment-of-god/ The Bible isn’t kidding when it says in Romans 1:28, “Just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind.” We see it in the Olympics, and I don’t just mean the Paris Olympics of 2024. The opening ceremonies of several recent Olympics have been religious events, with representatives of the whole world exalting man and the demonic, while demeaning God and those who trust in Him. This year’s Olympics may best be exemplified by “the pale horse” seeming to run on water, up the River Seine. It was even more dramatic than they intended… because it foreshadows God’s judgment coming to earth. Revelation 6:8 says, “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” Judgment is coming to the world. God said it, and you can count on it. The ugly aspects of these Olympics should not surprise us. Instead, they should make us weep. We should weep for humanity as Jeremiah wept for the Children of Israel. He watched them running headlong into the judgment of God. Jeremiah wept for them because he loved them. But he did not moderate his message. His love and compassion compelled him to tell them the truth. No one wants to be a prophet of doom. It’s much more fun to talk about the wonders of knowing God and the eternal joy of being His. I still hope that America and the world will have a great awakening where vast numbers come to Christ before He raptures His Church out of this world. I hope to see wayward churches (and even whole denominations) reformed, revived, and restored. I haven’t given up, and you shouldn’t either, but we need to understand that the world stands under the judgment of Almighty God. He is slow to anger. 2 Peter 3:9-10 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come….” “The day of the Lord” is defined in scripture as a period that begins after the rapture, at a time when humanity believes it has entered an era of peace and safety on its own and without God. But the peace and safety will be an illusion followed by an outpouring of the judgment of God. We need to tell the world. Judgment is coming! Petty virtue signaling saves no one. Human beings can ignore Him for a while or try to mock Him. They can rage against Him. Or they can turn to Him and be greeted with open arms. We must tell them! We are God’s ambassadors to this world. We do not make up the message, but we pass on His message to the people of earth. Turn to Him now. Even if He delays His judgment of the world for a while, every individual life has an expiration date. His arms are open wide, but at death, that opportunity ends. No one knows how many days he or she has left. That’s why 2 Corinthians 6:2 says, “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” If you have never turned to Him, do it now. If you have, tell others. Share the good news! People need to know, and it’s our job to tell them. Daily Jot: The promises we make - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Anytime we promise to do or not do something, we are making a vow. It is important to follow through with it. For example, if parents don’t follow through on what they say they will do, children can get the idea that they can lie. When we don’t follow through on what we promise, it’s a reflection on our character. There was a time when someone could get a loan at the bank on his word and a handshake. His word was his bond. But nowadays there is not that level of trust. How many times have we found ourselves bargaining with God saying, if you only do this Lord, I will …. Our words have meaning and consequences. Society has become very casual about the words we use. Vow making, however, is a serious matter. Numbers 30 begins with the discussion of vows to the LORD, and gives permission for a woman to be released from a vow by the authority of her husband or father. Numbers 30:2 says that whoever makes a vow “is not to break his word.” The Hebrew word for “break” comes from the root chalul, meaning to profane or make unholy. This is the same root used in the phrase chillul Hashem, which means to desecrate the Name of the LORD. Leviticus 22:32 says, “And you shall not profane (chillul) My holy name; but I will be sanctified among the children of Israel: I am the LORD who sanctifies you.” Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “From this you know that the LORD your God is indeed God, the faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him…” The LORD will always keep His word, and so He wants us to keep ours as well. Jesus is the Word of God, just as His words are true and life giving, so should ours be also. The sages say that the words we speak, either good or bad, call for a response in the heavenly realm. The Hebrew for “word,” devar, also means “thing.” The words we speak or keep in our hearts can and do define the course of our lives—and things. We’ve discussed lashon harah (evil tongue) many times, and the weight that our words carry before God. This is why Jesus warned not to make an oath or vow, since our words should be enough. He says in Matthew 5:37, “Let your ‘Yes’ be a simple ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ a simple ’No,’; anything more has its origin in evil.” Let us remember Jepthah in Chapter 11 of Judges who made a vow to the LORD, that whatever came out of his house to meet him when he returned from battle would be sacrificed to ADONAI, and his only child, a daughter, came to greet him–An extreme case, yes, but it was included in scripture for our benefit. Our words are meant to glorify God, and strengthen and build up one another. Ephesians 4:29 exhorts, “Let no harmful language come from your mouth, only good words that are helpful in meeting the need, words that will benefit those who hear them.” Ecclesiastes 5:5 says, “It is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it.” This is referring especially to making a vow before God. She said that people were afraid of losing their health, their wealth, and their loved ones. All too often, Christians haven’t found the comfort, strength, and contentment that God wants them to have because they are paralyzed by fear. Yet Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures” (John 10:7–9 NLT). In Jesus’ day, a sheepfold was an enclosed area with walls that provided protection for defenseless sheep, especially at night. Predators such as wolves or lions walked around the sheepfold, looking for a way in. Yet the only way in was through the door of the sheepfold. And that so-called door was the shepherd. We see this pattern elsewhere in Scripture. On one occasion, Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers” (Luke 22:31–32 NLT). Jesus essentially was saying, “I’m standing in the gap for you.” The devil cannot pick us off at will, though some Christians may think that. Rather, he must go through the Good Shepherd because we are under His divine protection. Jesus also said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand” (John 10:27–29 NLT). Although this passage is a promise of God’s protection, it is not a promise that we never will fall into sin. No one will snatch Jesus’ sheep out of His hand, but we, as sheep, can still go astray. Not only has God given us His protection, but He also has given us freedom. We don’t have to stay in the sheepfold. We don’t have to stay in His protection. And when we make a mess out of our lives, God will do what He can to find us, restore us, and bring us back to Himself. Yet God is looking for our cooperation. He wants to protect us, provide for us, and bless us. He wants us to find contentment. But we must follow the Good Shepherd’s voice.
