Is Iran About to Start World War III? - by Michael Snyder - https://endoftheamericandream.com/did-iran-just-start-world-war-iii/
Have we reached a point of no return? As I write this article, the world is waiting for news that Iran has attacked Israel. If it happens, it is likely to be a significantly larger attack than the last one. Of course once Iran attacks, then everyone will be watching Israel to see if they strike back or not. If Israel chooses not to strike back, this could be the end of it for a while. But ultimately this is a war that is still just getting started. It is just a matter of time before all-out war erupts, and when we finally reach that point the death and destruction that we will witness will shock the entire globe. Everyone pretty much understood that there would be no Iranian attack until after the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Wednesday. Following that meeting, Iran’s acting foreign minister warned that Iran “has no choice but to exercise its inherent right to legitimate defense”… Iran has no choice but to respond to Israel’s “aggressions,” Iran’s acting foreign minister said on Wednesday, as the Middle East awaits Tehran’s response to Israel over the killing of a Hamas leader in the Iranian capital last week. “In the absence of appropriate action by the Security Council against the aggressions and violations of the Israeli regime, the Islamic Republic of Iran has no choice but to exercise its inherent right to legitimate defense against this regime’s actions,” Iranian media quoted Ali Bagheri-Kani as saying during an extraordinary session of the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The meeting was convened partly at Iran’s request, following the killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last Wednesday, an attack that Iran has attributed to Israel. Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack. Elsewhere, the head of the Iranian Army also seemed to indicate that a decision to attack Israel has already been made… Chief Commander of the Iranian Army Abdolrahim Mousavi did not sound consolatory when he spoke of Israel’s pending destruction on Wednesday. “The Zionist regime will soon receive a strong and definite response, and there is no doubt about it,” Mousavi reportedly said, according to IRNA and Tasnim. “It is clear that they themselves have realized the speed of their own destruction, and by doing so, they want to save themselves from the quagmire, but they definitely cannot save themselves from annihilation.” It certainly appears that an attack will be coming. We just don’t know exactly when that attack will take place. Egypt made headlines when it issued instructions for its airlines “to avoid Iranian airspace for a three-hour period in the early morning on Thursday”… Egypt instructed all of its airlines to avoid Iranian airspace for a three-hour period in the early morning on Thursday. The NOTAM, a safety notice provided to pilots on Wednesday, said the instruction would be in effect from 0100 to 0400 GMT. It provided no further details as to why the notice was issued. An Egyptian official was quoted by the state-affiliated Al Qahera News TV as saying that the Iranian authorities said to avoid flying in Iranian airspace because of “military exercises.” “Based on a report from Iranian authorities to all civil aviation companies, flights over Iranian airspace are to be avoided,” the unnamed official was quoted as saying. Now that the period of time in that warning has passed, it seems clear that this was just a false alarm. And there are many that are hoping that Iran will ultimately decide not to attack at all. If you can believe it, that even includes the new president of Iran. It is being reported that the president of Iran specifically asked Ayatollah Ali Khamenei not to launch an attack… Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has reportedly asked the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to refrain from attacking Israel, according to a report by Iran International on Wednesday. Pezeshkian warned Khamenei of the potential attack’s effects on his presidency, with Iran International quoting sources familiar with the development. The new Iranian president cautioned that an Israeli retaliatory attack could cripple Iran’s economy, infrastructure, and even lead to the country’s collapse. I really wish that the Ayatollah would listen to him. On the other side, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is assuring the Israeli people that his government is prepared for whatever might happen… “We are prepared both defensively and offensively,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated during a visit Wednesday to the IDF induction base at Tel Hashomer. “I know that the citizens of Israel are concerned, and I ask one thing of you: Be patient and level-headed,” he said. “We are striking our enemies and are determined to defend ourselves.” And of course the U.S. stands ready to defend Israel as well. In fact, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is sending additional military assets to the region… “To maintain our carrier strike group presence in the Middle East, I’ve ordered the USS Abraham Lincoln to replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt later this month,” he said. “I’ve also ordered more cruisers and destroyers capable of ballistic missile defense to the region,” Austin stressed. Another fighter squadron has also been deployed to the Middle East “to reinforce our defensive air support capabilities here,” he added. We better hope that an all-out war does not erupt in the Middle East any time soon. Because the truth is that the U.S. military is definitely not prepared to fight a major war. Our military is in such bad shape that we were not even able to conduct a successful withdrawal from Afghanistan. We really need to get our act together, because it is just a matter of time before thousands of missiles start being lobbed back and forth in the Middle East. It isn’t going to happen yet. But as I have been warning for years, it is definitely coming. So don’t get too comfortable. This war in the Middle East will eventually blow up in a major way, and once that happens there will be no going back. Scanning a Fearful Future XII – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2024/08/04/scanning-a-fearful-future-xii/ I believe the Holy Spirit speaks to those who are attuned to God’s prophetic Word and who are doing as Jesus commanded: “What I say unto one, I say unto all. Watch” (Mark 13:37). The Lord is speaking dramatically at the moment: “Watch! Watch the issues and events that are exploding all around you at the moment!” This is the message we’re receiving each minute of the day. Therefore, it’s time for a “Scanning a Fearful Future” update. Jesus said when we see all these “things” begin to come to pass, we’re to look up in anticipation of Him coming to take us home (Luke 21:28 and John 14:1–3). These “things” we’ve been seeing come to pass for some time are now flowing in like the end-times flood Daniel described (Daniel 9:27). Great deception is in every direction, with deceivers at the highest levels of governments and religious circles prevaricating with power straight from the father of lies. The latest deception being foisted by Lucifer’s propaganda arm, the news media that assists him in his “prince of the power of the air” position while he spreads lies that mesmerize, involves the president of the United States. Whether the shooter who almost took the life of the Republican candidate was a hireling of a globalist, deep-state cabal, or was simply a young man turned into a crazed fanatic by the months and years of the media’s brain-washing hatred, the source of the evil is the same. Satan continues to do all within his power to remove the obstacles blocking him from fulfilling his plan to set himself up, through the coming Antichrist, as destroyer of God’s order of things. While these constant attempts to bring in the Antichrist regime accelerate at every level, those with Holy Spirit discernment can also see the truth of the mighty, restraining hand of God at work through all that’s taking place. God has promised that He will restrain evil right up until the moment believers are taken out of the way. With the Holy Spirit, who lives in every believer, ceasing the restraint of evil, the spiritual wickedness in high places of Ephesians 6:12 will have the run of the planet for a limited time. The current battle–Lucifer’s forces versus God’s forces—is destined to become more intense by the minute. The future indeed would look fearful if not for that Great Restrainer controlling all that happens. God continues to have the evil forces in derision, as promised in Psalm 2. The Lord is almost assuredly laughing at the wicked forces of corruption that see practically every one of their plans disrupted. The following describes some of the restraining we are witnessing. It’s important to understand that The Powers That Be (TPTB) themselves have never been so disunited and confused, incohesive and disordered. In point of fact, all of the major implementation plans on their New World Order agenda have gone awry. Every nefarious scheme to foist a One World Government on the world community of nations has been thrown into disarray. Just look at their crazy Covid [expletive deleted] to understand their current stewpot. Nevertheless, the power elite will continue to carry out their Great Reset since so much of their world takeover project greatly depends upon it. Toward that end, CYBER POLYGON plays an integral role in that global controlled demolition of cyberspace as a necessary precursor to their long planned CBDC roll-out… CYBER POLYGON: WEF Commences with a Global Simulation to Collapse the Internet It ought to be obvious that such a massive and far-reaching international outage just doesn’t happen by accident; rather, this was a classic MIHOP event. MIHOP = Made It Happen On Purpose But just how do we know that? Because, CrowdStrike is involved—THAT’S WHY! [CrowdStrike is a global cybersecurity leader with an advanced cloud-native platform for protecting endpoints, cloud workloads, identities and data.] For the dark side to successfully execute their plans for a total planetary lockdown, they must exert complete command and control over all of cyberspace. That’s where the WEF’s CYBER POLYGON comes in. Welcome to the second July Surprise! he utterly staged false flag Trump assassination hoax being the first one. (Cyber Polygon 2024: “Great Reset begins with engineered Internet breakdown followed by CBDC roll-out,” posted on July 19, 2024 by State of the Nation) While I don’t believe, as the article concludes, that the assassination attempt on former President Trump was a hoax, there is no doubt the wicked forces in high places, both demonic and human, continue to do all within their dark-dimensional power to bring America down in order to remove the holdup to their Great Reset. The recent (I believe) deliberately contrived massive breakdown of vast cyberspace technology, controlling, for example, airline scheduling and safety, is proof. If you don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, when scanning the future for the terrifying things that are coming, you indeed face the prospect of a fearful exercise. You don’t have to remain outside of Christ’s protection against the uncontrolled satanic wickedness about to burst upon the world. Here again is how to be assured of safety–being kept from the time that is coming upon the world of unbelievers (Revelation 3:10). That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10) PROPHECY UPDATE VIDEOS

A woman on a train remained focused on her smartphone despite widespread chaos outside her window. As she smiled at the images on her phone, only a pane of glass separated her from the destruction and fires along the path of the train. The short video aptly sums up modern life for many in the U.S. The many distractions of modern life keep the majority of people oblivious to the dangers of our fallen world. In contrast to the short video on social media, the view outside my window this morning is one of a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. If this was all I saw, I might conclude that all is well with the world. However, a world of turmoil, violence, and lawlessness lies beyond what I can see outside my office. Sadly, it’s a view that most people choose to ignore or simply cannot see. The View The conflict in the Middle East is just one of many hotspots that could quickly easily explode into the next world war. I hear threats of impending nuclear warfare almost every day. The national debt level in the U.S. just passed the thirty-five Trillion-dollar mark with almost all of the money collected from individual tax returns needed to cover just the interest for it. I cannot explain how we could reach such a mark without it completely obliterating our economy. As it is, we have an inflation rate that’s significantly higher than what the government admits, one that’s severely hurting most families. The deception and gaslighting of our day are off the charts. The book of Revelation tells me that it will get worse once the antichrist arrives on the scene, but that’s more than I can comprehend at the moment. Lawlessness and violence have become commonplace across America. Protestors fill our streets in support of the most demonic, despicable, and horrendous terrorist group imaginable. Why the tolerance for demonstrators calling for the elimination of Israel as a nation and the death of all Jews? A sign from the streets of San Francisco sums up the anarchy of our day. It warned people not to steal goods in excess of a total of $950 because if they did so, they would face prosecution for their crime. Smartphones are merely symptomatic of how easily we can become addicted to modern life with its pleasures, entertainment, sports, and travel. There’s nothing wrong with these things by themselves as long as they don’t keep our focus inside the train and anesthetized to the perils outside the window. The Comfort I couldn’t endure all that I see happening apart from the Bible which tells me about Jesus and my hope of His imminent appearing. He is the sum total of my security and hope for tomorrow. Sometimes, my morning quiet times end with my arms wrapped around my Bible. I hug the words of Scripture because they alone comfort and encourage me when I look beyond the peaceful scenes of my neighborhood. I’m grieved by churches that tell us that matters of Bible prophecy are tertiary, or those of lesser importance than other matters of faith. This assertion defies a realistic view of our current world, which screams with the message that Bible prophecy is of the utmost importance for our time. Believers today desperately need to hear what the Bible says about the future. It’s not debatable, not even close. Bible prophecy is most certainly not a tertiary matter. The passion that keeps me writing is that of offering hope to the saints in these last days. I don’t know how much longer we have until we meet Jesus in the air, but all the signs tell us that the sudden destruction that will mark the start of the Day of the Lord will soon fall on an unsuspecting world, people too distracted to view the chaos of our world. Our hope does not rest in politics or in getting the right person elected. The church will fail us; we dare not place our hope in it or in the Lord somehow subduing the evil around us through it. That’s not the purpose of the church. We are the body of Christ; we are not a kingdom that will succeed in bringing peace to the world. God’s Word tells us that evil and violence will increase in the days before Jesus’ return, just as we now see happening. Believers who possess the discernment of a biblical worldview, one bathed in Bible prophecy, see the world for what it is. We know that the devil’s domination of the nations will continue until Jesus’ all-glorious and spectacular Second Coming. The distractions are many; I know all too well how easily they can take my eyes off the prize of the pre-Tribulation Rapture (Philippians 3:13-21). The verses below are two of many that enable me to view life today through the lens of a biblical worldview: John 14:2-3 KJV – “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” Colossians 3:4 KJV – “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Jesus is coming to take us to glory, where He now resides with the Father. When He comes, we will appear with Him in glory. That’s not an earthly locale. Don’t look out the window! That is, unless you do so through the lens of Bible prophecy and specifically that of our “blessed hope” (Titus 2:11-14), our expectation of Jesus’ imminent and hopefully soon appearing to take us home. If you don’t yet know Jesus as your Savior, please respond to His call today. In Jesus is the Only Path to Eternal Life, I explain how you can know that God has forgiven all of your sins and that you possess eternal life. Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Get To Work - Nathele Graham - [email protected] First, we must understand that we cannot work for our salvation. Jesus did all the work, and what a price He paid for us. We can’t do anything to add to what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross. That’s a blessing, but too often we are ungrateful and take it for granted. We need to share our faith with everyone. Why are we so selfish with our salvation? “I’m saved, but too bad for you”. That’s a very wrong attitude. The joy of our salvation should be a driving force in our life. We can’t earn our salvation, but we can show our gratitude to Jesus by sharing salvation with others. We all know people who mock and ridicule our faith, but worse than mocking us, they mock Jesus. Instead of getting angry at their ignorance, we need to put in some work. Ask yourself why you believe what you believe? Can you defend your faith? Most of us just parrot what somebody told us. Ask yourself if the person who taught you had a true grasp of Scripture. There was a TV show many years ago where the mother was a Christian and tried raising her children to believe. The problem is, she didn’t have a clue about what she believed. All that mattered was that she was a Baptist. It takes work to study Scripture, but that’s the way to know God. Study Genesis chapter 1 and look up the Hebrew words. By doing so, you will understand that God created everything in six literal days. Yes, Peter says “But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:8. Sounds like evolution could have happened, right? First, “scientists” think it took millions or billions of years, not a thousand. It might take some work on your part to study, but it's worth it. If you read a little further in that passage, you’ll see Peter is talking about God being outside of time and the Lord coming back. It seems long to us, but to God it isn’t long at all. Scoffers laugh at us for thinking Christ will take us Home, but the Rapture isn’t a new idea. Paul taught about it and God gave “pictures” in the Old Testament to show us. For example, Enoch was Raptured prior to the judgment of the Flood. Why would God wait so long to return? That’s an easy question. His delay will allow more people to come to faith and not spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. If you study Scripture through prayer and guidance by the Holy Spirit, you won’t be confused by Satanic lies; you’ll be able to share God’s truth and hopefully bring someone to faith in Christ. Prophecy is a very good tool for witnessing. Yes, it takes some work to study and understand, but there are many upsetting reports in the news that show us that prophecy is quickly being fulfilled. It takes work to study it and sort through misinterpretations. A very wrong misinterpretation of Scripture is replacement theology. You can’t find a passage in Scripture where God states He is done with Israel. Prophecy is easier to understand when you put Israel in the right focus. God has been angry with them at times, but He has never replaced them. Today we are living in an “in between” time, a pause if you want to look at it that way. The prophet Daniel was given a prophecy that covers seventy weeks. That doesn’t sound like a long time, but a little study will reveal that in Jewish reckoning, there is a week of years. Just like if I say “I’ve lived 7 decades”, you know I’m 70 years old. So, this prophecy in Daniel is speaking of 70 weeks of years. That is 490 years. As you read through the prophecy, you will understand that Israel is very much still in God’s sight. “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” Daniel 9:24. Daniel was Jewish, so when this prophecy says “…upon thy people…” we can be certain it isn’t talking about Christians, but is talking about the Jewish people, and “…thy holy city… “is talking about Jerusalem. The One who will accomplish the things in this prophecy is Jesus. Only He can “…finish the transgression…make an end of sins… make reconciliation for iniquity…bring everlasting righteousness...” This is talking about their Messiah, Jesus Christ. Sadly, they rejected Him. The prophecy goes on to say that the Messiah will be “cut off” (crucified). This “in between” time in which we live is the time for Christians to get out and work for the Kingdom of God. We need to spread the Gospel to the lost. God doesn’t want anybody to perish, no matter what their sin. True repentance of sin will bring salvation through faith in Jesus, but people need to hear about Jesus. Daniel 9:27 gives a quick look at what will happen soon. “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Daniel 9:27. The “he” in this verse refers to the man of sin whom we call the Anti-Christ, The Anti-Christ is described in many prophecies throughout Scripture, including Revelation. If you study this verse of Daniel, as well as the following chapters, you will see that time is drawing to a close. In order for this evil person to stop the sacrifice and the oblation, there must be a Jewish Temple in place. This is going to happen very soon. The Jewish people have everything they need in order to build and use the Temple. We also know that the Anti-Christ will defile the Temple by setting himself up in the Holy of Holies. We all need to get to work sharing the Gospel so fewer people will be left behind. During the time between the Messiah being “cut off” and present day, we are living in the “church age”. Christians have a job to do, and I think we have been shirking our duties. It’s up to us to spread the Gospel. Jesus was crucified, dead, and buried, but He conquered death and rose from the grave. That is what we need to share with this fallen world. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23. Sin in this world is beyond comprehension. Only faith in Jesus can bring everlasting life. The governments of this world are trying hard to silence Christians, and they are accomplishing their goal. Brothers, and sisters, we can’t allow that to happen. Jesus Christ is the hope of the world, but the world is blinded by Satan. Just before He ascended to Heaven, Jesus gave His disciples a mission. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20. Does that mean all of us need to go to deepest, darkest Africa or the Amazon jungle and spread the Gospel? Some people are called to do that, but our own neighborhoods are a mission field. You may be the only person who can reach a family member, or a friend with the Gospel. Remember the Rapture will happen only after a certain number of Gentiles accept the Gospel of Christ. The Jewish people are, for the most part, blind to the Gospel. “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.” Romans 11:25. It takes work to plant seeds of the Gospel, and we all need to start working for the Lord. There is a certain number, known only to God, that must come to faith before the Rapture. The best thing we can all do is get to work and share the Gospel with everybody we know. Prepare yourself to work for the Lord, so you can answer questions and be confident in your faith. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman, that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15. Start studying to make sure you have a good understanding of God’s word. How can you teach a non-believer if you don’t understand the Gospel yourself? One day, after Jesus had healed a blind man, His disciples had a question about if it was his sin or his parent’s sin that caused the blindness. “Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:3-5. Today we are the vessels through whom the Light shines. We will soon be taken out of this world. If you study prophecy, you will understand that Christians will not go through Daniel’s 70th week, but will be Raptured prior to its start. Revelation makes it clear that we will be called Home prior to the Anti-Christ being revealed and prior to the horrors of the Great Tribulation. The only way to be taken in the Rapture is to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Repent of your sin and be born again. Study of prophecy will show you that we are extremely close to the Rapture. When that happens, the Light will be gone from the world. Start studying now. Share the Gospel. Get to work. Daily Jot: The battlefield of the mind - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The headlines these days are alarming. The world seems to be in a panic over the election and a possible recession. The narrative seems to be pointing toward economic, government, political, and social disruption. Disruption on all levels. There is no rest from disruption. It is so, because the media and the disrupters make it so. So there they are making their noise, accusing others of what they are doing, judging people from the content of their own hearts, spewing forth hate, derision, suspicion and darkness. What is it to us? Why do we have to allow them to occupy the battlefield of our minds? Does their darkness overcome the light of Christ and the Holy Spirit in each of us? I stand to say “NO.” In John 8:12, Christ said, “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” In Matthew 5:14-16, Christ affirms this transfer of light, saying, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Philippians 2:14-15 says, “Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” Proverbs 4:14-18 says, “Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day.” Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” There is a path we all travel, but we do not have to travel in darkness because Christ is the light for the just. He transfers it to his disciples that they might also be the light of the world. As you engage friends and family, even strangers, you do not have to take part in the darkness around us. You can be that light to others, that joy in the midst of sorrow. Everyone seems to be at everyone else. Peace is but a fleeting moment like an insincere greeting. Remember, though, that as the light of the world, you are also an ambassador of Christ, an emissary of the kingdom of God. We don’t have to enter into the darkness because it already has been defeated by the King of Kings. Renew your mind. Have a perspective of light. As is written in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.” So let your light shine. Daily Devotion: Temporary Testing - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. —1 Peter 1:7 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/temporary-testing/ - Listen The apostle Paul had the unique experience of dying, going to Heaven, and coming back to talk about it. We don’t know exactly when that happened, but many assume that it was when crowds at Lystra stoned him and took him outside the city. Paul wrote about this experience in 2 Corinthians 12, where he described being caught up into the third heaven and hearing things he couldn’t even put into words. That would be a heavy matter for even the most seasoned believer. But Paul went on to say, “So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud” (verse 7 NLT). The apostle continued, “That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (verse 10 NLT). There are many opinions as to what Paul’s thorn was. Some believe it was a physical problem, such as poor eyesight. No doubt that could have come from the physical suffering he had endured. Or, maybe it was some other physical difficulty. Others think that Paul’s “thorn in [his] flesh” might have been difficult people in his life who made him miserable. Whatever it was, Paul essentially said three different times, “Lord, would You get this out of my life?” And God said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness” (verse 9 NLT). God will reveal Himself in unique and special ways through the valleys of life. Most of us would like to avoid the valleys. But there are some lessons we learn in the valleys that we won’t learn anywhere else. One is the lesson of compassion. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 1, “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us” (verses 3–4 NLT). When God has allowed hardship in our lives, it gives us the ability to comfort someone else who is going through something similar. God can take our past and use it for His glory today. It may be hard to believe now, but we don’t stay in the valleys forever. The Bible tells us, “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold” (1 Peter 1:7 NLT). Trials don’t last forever. David didn’t write, “Even when I crawl through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid.” Rather, he said, “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid” (Psalm 23:4 NLT). Keep moving. You’re going to get through it. America is in more danger of falling than at any time in its history. But I believe Bible prophecy predicts this very decline. From this point on, we believers have to get serious. We are going to face discouragement, disillusionment and, most certainly, persecution in the time between now and the Rapture. But don't be discouraged or disillusioned. The coming turmoil will provide us unrivaled opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel. So be ready to share your faith and your hope with those who need Christ.
