‘The Die Has Been Cast’: There is No Going Back From What Iran Set Into Motion On October 7th – By Mike Spaulding - https://harbingersdaily.com/the-die-has-been-cast-there-is-no-going-back-from-what-iran-set-into-motion-on-october-7th/
The origin of cultural idioms is an interesting study. Take, for instance, the phrase “The elephant in the room.” The phrase is of American origin, possibly as recently as the 1950s. It has come to refer to any subject that requires a conversation but one that is being avoided by all parties with an interest in said conversation. Likewise is the idiom, “The die has been cast.” According to one researcher, this phrase was first spoken by Julius Caesar when crossing the Rubicon. The first known usage of the phrase in print goes back to 1626 and Sir Thomas Herbert. The “die” in this phrase is not referring to the modern-day process of die-casting metal. Instead, the “die” is the singular of dice, and therefore, the phrase means “the dice have been rolled.” In other words, once the dice have been rolled, there is no turning back. I thought of this latter phrase in relation to the first anniversary of the barbaric, murderous, depraved actions of the Islamic terror group Hamas toward the nation of Israel and the Jewish people on October 7, 2023. No amount of obfuscation, misdirection, political double-speak, or demonic moralizing can excuse what took place on that day. This is not how civilized people conduct their affairs. Sometimes war is inevitable, but in those instances, there is a formal declaration after efforts have been made to avoid it. Americans especially should be sensitive to this after December 7, 1941, and September 11, 2001. Yet, without warning, Iran’s terrorist proxy Hamas, in a well-planned surprise attack, murdered, raped, and assaulted civilians, taking captive hundreds of innocent people. This was not a declaration of war; this was a declaration that when uncivilized people are propagandized long enough, they become the willing tools of demonic barbarian slaughter. There was great celebration throughout the Shia Muslim world at the devastation rendered to what Shia Muslims refer to as the “little Satan,” Israel. The atrocity inflicted upon the Jewish people on October 7, 2023, was seen by a jubilant Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthi Shia Muslims as a blessing from “Allah” and surely a sign of his granting a forthcoming victory over all Jews. At long last, “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” was within grasp. No one knows, except the ayatollah’s themselves, what the desired outcome of their barbaric invasion was. One thing is for certain: neither Iran nor any of its aforementioned proxies understood that pushing Israel to the degree that they did would result in an all-out war. We can be certain about this because, for all of their bluster and saber-rattling, Iran has been exposed as a “paper tiger” with neither the means nor the will to enter into a direct military conflict with Israel. Along the way, the “elephant in the room” conversations are now taking place. Terrorist sympathizers are being exposed at the highest levels of government in the US, UK, France, and elsewhere. Their repeated calls for restraint on Israel’s part and a continual call upon Israel to accept a cease-fire exposes them as cowards in the least and radical Islamist mouthpieces that are not worthy of office. This kind of behavior and moral blindness by elected representatives is not a mere disagreement over policy. Their support of Iran terrorism through Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and every other group around the world shows a fundamental lack of understanding about what makes us all human beings. There is no scenario where rape as part of an ideology, murdering babies, infants, and toddlers in their cribs, defenseless old men and women in the streets, and taking captive hundreds of people and subjecting them to the worse imaginable treatment for over a year is acceptable. And yet, that is the argument being advanced by Islamists and their sympathizers. International organizations have attempted to stop Israel’s response through lawfare (The International Criminal Court of Justice comes to mind), or through the United Nations. Why would any nation ever support the United Nations after it has been proven that the United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA) was riddled with Islamic terrorists who participated in the October 7 massacre? The latest blindness and abject lunacy come from the Nobel Peace Prize Forum which declared their complete moral bankruptcy just days ago by nominating for their highest honor the same terrorist UNRWA mentioned above, the International Criminal Court of Justice mentioned above, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who has been so openly biased against Israel that Israel’s Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, recently banned him from entering Israel. It was Guterres who demonstrated his own inability to comprehend basic morality by declaring soon after October 7, 2023, that the Hamas barbarity “did not happen in a vacuum.” What Iran does not understand is that they rolled the dice on October 7, 2023, thereby casting the die for what will soon come upon them. They cannot walk back what has already been set in motion. In their obsession to destroy Israel, the ayatollahs started the process of their own demise. My prayer is that Israel will not hesitate to strike Iran. Israel must cut off the head of the snake. What governments in the US, UK, and France did not count on was the support for Israel’s right to exist and defend itself among their citizenries. These kinds of conversations are out in the open now. The elephant has run out of the room. There is no returning to business as usual, regardless of the number of high-ranking government officials beholden to the filthy Islamic lucre given to them. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently taken to citing verses from the Tanakh. I remind him and all born again believers in Christ and supporters of Israel, that Psalm 21:8-11 foretells the fate of all the enemies of God and His chosen people: “Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them. Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men. For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform.” Indeed, the Islamists will not succeed. Glory to God for His unwavering faithfulness toward all believers in Christ Jesus and to His people Israel, whose own redemption draws nigh. Paving Antichrist’s Pathway to False Peace – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2024/10/07/paving-antichrists-pathway-to-false-peace/ Jesus said in His Olivet Discourse, as recorded in the Gospel according to Luke: “And there shall be…upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity” (Luke 21:25b). Now, deep into 2024, it becomes increasingly obvious that peace in the Middle East is foremost on the minds of the leaders of the major world powers. Distress over the possibility, even the probability, that nuclear conflict might eventuate in the region causes perplexity of the most crucial sort. Absence of peace in the world, and particularly in the region surrounding modern Israel, creates at this late moment in the fleeting age a vacuum into which the prophesied end-of-days leader will one day vault to power. Antichrist will climb onto a platform of peace from which to launch his most terrible campaign of conquest. We get some idea of this supernaturally imbued man’s spectacular rise and reign through the Old Testament prophet Daniel: And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many. (Daniel 8:23–25b) A strange, deadly peace is prophesied to serve as launching pad for the Beast, as he is termed in Revelation chapter 13. Paul, the apostle and prophet, gave dire warning about that esoteric peace that will pervade in the days approaching the time of the end: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3) Paul said this murderous peace will come immediately following the “thief in the night” break-in upon an unsuspecting world of earth’s inhabitants. (Read 1 Thessalonians 5:1–7.) This refers to the resurrection and translation of the saints of the Age of Grace—the Rapture. The apostle, as he did in speaking of the Rapture in 1 Corinthians 15:51–55 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, used personal pronouns to indicate exactly whom he was prophesying about. Concerning those alive at that future time, Paul used “we,” “us,” and “our” to indicate Church Age saints and “they,” “them,” and “those” to indicate the lost—the unbelievers—who will be left behind when the Rapture takes place. There will be a cry for peace and safety leading up to this time of world-rending intervention by Christ, and an even more urgent demand for peace and safety following that calamitous event. I infer from my study that the left-behind people who “say peace and safety” seem to be saying also that “now we have peace and safety.” I’m convinced this is the peace of Daniel 8:25 perpetrated upon the earth by the “king of fierce countenance,” who will “by peace destroy many.” Today, leaders of the planet’s most powerful governments consistently fret over the boiling pot the so-called Holy Land presents in threatening to again bring the nations into world war. Other potential conflicts—like the increasing military actions between Russia and Ukraine and the nuclear threats coming from Vladimir Putin—add to the fears. But it is the building potential for all-out war between Israel and its Islamic antagonists that has the premiere diplomatic powers that be in “distress” and “perplexity.” Particularly, it is the building potential violence between the Jewish state and a soon-to-be nuclear Iran that brings forth the cry for peace and safety. Globalist leaders meeting a week ago at the UN voted on a “Pact for the Future” that lays the foundation of a “new global order” at the center of which is the declared intention to establish world peace. It was adopted by consensus, but reluctantly so. Like in so much going on these days, God’s hand of derision and restraint was manifest within that anti-God geopolitical body. “No one is happy with this pact,” said Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Sergey Vershinin. Seven countries voted against adopting the Pact: Russia, Nicaragua, Iran, Sudan, Belarus, North Korea and Syria. Additionally, 15 countries abstained from voting, including China, Cuba, Iraq, Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. (“UN’s Pact for the Future is adopted; it will serve the same authoritarian and profitable aims as COVID,” Rhoda Wilson, Expose, September 23, 2024) Heaven’s hand of restraint seemed to take from the attendees’ thoughts of working together to throttle Israel’s ongoing military action in defending itself. The leaders of that globalist get-together are frustrated over the peace that eludes all efforts, finding, in particular, Israel’s leadership exasperating—even though it is Israel’s enemies such as Iran that incessantly seek to destroy the Jewish state. But instead of pursuing their collective hate-filled goals against God’s chosen nation, their thoughts turned to self-centered individual interests for the most part. Nonetheless, the globalist would-be masters of the world have solid ground for concern that the volatility could boil over at any time and ignite conflagration in the region surrounding Israel. During the UN summit, Iran’s president raved in a speech against Israel and lauded Israel’s enemies, but without overwhelming agreement from those listening. But Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, continues to declare that Islamic nations will one day watch the destruction of its most-hated enemy, Israel. He is quoted on his website numerous times as saying: “Surely, the day will come when the nations of the region will witness the destruction of the Zionist regime…when the destruction happens will depend on how the Islamic nations approach the issue.” Concerns about Israel’s objection to Iran’s nuclear development and those diplomatic elites’ frustration over not knowing what to do about the threat to regional and world peace might remind the student of Bible prophecy of another predicted situation. The current angst over Iran’s threat evokes thoughts of an apparent note of diplomatic protest that will be issued during a future Iranian (Persian) military action against Israel. Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil? (Ezekiel 38:13) The powers of the West, and even Saudi and others in the Middle East, will send a weak note of diplomatic protest. There will still, apparently, be an inability to deal with the Iranian (and the accompanying coalition of nations’) threat to world peace. The indecisiveness and the cry for peace and safety will ultimately bring the Beast to power. He will have the answers to foment the deadly peace people want. It will be such peace that will serve as Antichrist’s launching pad to absolute power. Time, Times, and Half a Time - Part 1 – Randy Nettles - https://www.rev310.net/post/time-times-and-half-a-time-part-1 Some partial preterists believe all the prophecies of Daniel 9:24-27 have been fulfilled. They think all 70 weeks were fulfilled when Jesus was crucified and resurrected. Some believe the 70 weeks (490 years) of Daniel 9:25 were from 458 BC to 33 AD. The start was when King Artaxerxes of Persia, during his seventh year of reign, sent Ezra to Jerusalem, as recorded in Ezra 7. These partial preterists believe the end of the 69th week (483 years) of Daniel was in the year 26 AD before Jesus began his 3.5-year ministry in the fall of 29 AD. Daniel 9:25 says the 69 weeks were “from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince.” Was Jesus Christ (Messiah) the Prince at this time? I suppose one could say Jesus was also the Messiah Prince during the 67th and 68th weeks (and beyond) and even since his birth. Is this verse in Daniel saying the 69th week was just the last seven years of the Messiah’s life, or is this a title given to this person because of a specific prophetic event that occurred in his life, such as when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9? I believe it is the latter. These particular partial preterists believe that Daniel 9:26, “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself,” refers to the 70th week or 490 years after Ezra was sent to Jerusalem. Yes, 70 weeks does occur after 69 weeks, but so does 69 weeks plus a day, week, year, etc. The remaining part of verse 26 refers to Titus and the Romans destroying the city and temple in 70 AD. They believe Daniel 9:27, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate,” refers to Jesus when he died on the cross for the sins of mankind. Even though the temple sacrifices continued after Jesus’s death (until 70 AD), they weren’t necessary anymore because of Jesus’ sacrificial death. In their view, Jesus’ sacrificial death and subsequent resurrection fulfilled the six objectives mentioned in Daniel 9:24 for the Jews and Jerusalem: “to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” I believe this could have been the case if the Jews had accepted Jesus as their Messiah and King, but since they didn’t, these six objectives or accomplishments will only be realized during the millennial kingdom of Jesus Christ. In other words, the partial preterists believe Daniel’s prophecy of 70 weeks has been fulfilled, and nothing else needs to occur in the future regarding this prophecy. The last seven years of the 70 weeks or 490 years (26-33 AD) consisted of 3.5 years of Jesus working as a carpenter and 3.5 years of Jesus’ ministry. Some of them believe there will be a time of tribulation for the Jews during the end times before Jesus returns; however, most do not think it is possible for the Jews to build a temple on the existing Temple Mount. Here is a peer-reviewed paper highlighting the partial preterist point of view with the 458 BC to 33 AD timeline for Daniel 9:24-27. https://rcyoung.org/articles/70%20weeks.pdf The main point in Mr. Young’s and other partial preterists’ favor is the 490 solar calendar years (70 weeks) from 458 BC to 33 AD. However, I believe the decree given to Ezra is not the one Daniel was referring to, as there is no mention of rebuilding the city and walls of Jerusalem, only directives concerning the newly built temple, enforcing the Law of Moses in Judea, and appointing magistrates and judges. I believe the decree given to Nehemiah in 444 BC, during the 20th year of Artaxerxes, is the correct start of the 69 weeks of Daniel 9:25. The end date is when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Nisan 10, 33 AD, as the Messiah Prince. This timeline is only for 476 years, not 483 years. How can this be? Most Bible scholars believe it is because of Sir Robert Anderson’s (and others before him) theory of a 360-day prophetic calendar to explain the seeming discrepancy of seven years. By using a “prophetic” 360-day calendar there are 483 years from 444 BC to 33 AD. Likewise, there will be a future seven years (the 70th week) or 2520 days reckoned by the prophetic calendar. I believe these years (444 BC-33 AD) are correct for the timeline of Daniel 9:25. I used to accept the 360-day calendar as the correct calendar the Jews used for reckoning timelines in specific prophecies. I no longer believe this, as the Jews have only used one calendar throughout their history (until modern times with the Julian and Gregorian calendars). They use a lunisolar calendar, especially for reckoning dates for their religious holidays (Feasts of the Lord), which aligns with our modern solar calendar over time. The Jewish lunisolar calendar was used to reckon the timeframe between prophetic events in Daniel’s prophecies and John’s prophecies in the Book of Revelation (IMO). The first step in deciphering the 69 weeks is to replace the word “weeks” with “sevens” as the correct translation. In this scripture in Daniel, I believe “sevens” refers to the seventh year of the Shemitah cycle as described in Leviticus 25:3-7. The next step is to realize that Daniel was not counting years (483 years) or days (173,880 days), or even weeks or cycles (69-70 cycles), but only the Shemitah years themselves. From 445-444 BC (first Shemitah seven) to 32-33 AD (69th Shemitah seven) is 476 years. See Sevens (rev310.net) for more details. There is no mention of a 483 or 490-year timeline in Daniel’s prophecy, only 69 and 70 weeks. Regarding Daniel 9:26, Jesus Christ is cut off or killed on Passover, which is four days after Nisan 10 in the year 33 AD. The general timeline for this event is given in the second part of verse 26, which is when General Titus and the Romans destroy Jerusalem and burn the temple to the ground in 70 AD. That is 37 years between these two consequential events. 37 is a significant number in biblical gematria and isopsephy. See I AM, the Great Mathematician (rev310.net) I believe Daniel 9:24-27 is a dual reference prophecy, with verses 25 and 26 occurring during the first advent of Christ, and verses 24 and 27 are yet future and will occur during the second advent of Christ. The person in verse 27 that “shall confirm a covenant with the many” is the same beast Daniel saw (in his visions) in Daniel 7:7 and the wicked king in Daniel 11:36-45. He is called the man of sin, the son of perdition, in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 and the antichrist in 1 John 2:18. The ending of sacrifices and offerings and the mention of abomination and desolation spoken of in Daniel 9:27 are mentioned again in Daniel 12 in the future time of trouble (“such as never was since there was a nation” – Daniel 12:1). “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days” (Daniel 12:11). This same future “abomination of desolation” is mentioned again by Jesus in Matthew 24:15-16 and also by John Mark in Mark 13:14. Scripture is clear that there will be a third temple built in Jerusalem, and it will be desecrated by one who opposes Christ (the Antichrist). This is a hard fact for preterists to wrap their minds around. “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). This event never happened between when it was written by Paul and the Temple’s destruction in 70 AD. It is destined to occur in the (near) future time of great tribulation (Matthew 24:21) or Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7). I have written several articles about the Hebrew calendar of old (based on observations of the stars, sun, moon, and crops compared to the calculated Jewish calendar put in place after the Jewish diaspora throughout the world. The last two articles, The Passage of Time (rev310.net) and The Flaw in the Calculated Jewish Calendar (rev310.net) demonstrate how the calculated Jewish calendar needs to be revised so the Feasts of the Lord can occur on the proper days and months as determined by Passover occurring on or after the vernal equinox (in the northern hemisphere). This means determining which new moon of spring (the first or the second) to use as the first month of the new year. It should be the one closest to the vernal equinox. Based on the tables in AstroPixels - Six Millennium Catalog of Phases of the Moon for reckoning the moon’s phases throughout the millennia, I have written several articles regarding the timing (with hypothetical dates) of Jacob’s trouble or Daniel’s 70th Week, otherwise known as the Tribulation. The last article on this subject was called The 1290th & 1335th Day of Dan. 12:11-12 (rev310.net), in which the events that occur in “the midst of the week” in Daniel 9:27 occur in 2030. 2030 is not a random year pulled out of a hat. It has been in the news and a topic of conversation for some time now. It appears the global elites believe this will be the year to bring in the much-vaunted New World Order of the United Nations. Could 2030 be the year of the Antichrist? He will only be king of the world for 3.5 years, the same duration as Jesus’ ministry, but he will have gained enough power to “confirm a covenant with the many” 3.5 years earlier. “The global elites who are determined to bring in a New World Order seem fixated on the year 2030. The United Nations has set a deadline for achieving its Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development by the year 2030. Agenda 2030 for S.D. has 17 goals for curing all of the world’s problems under the leadership of the unelected officials of the United Nations. All nations must follow their guidelines to bring about this new utopia on Earth. They are to relinquish their national sovereignty and become a member of the New World Order. All members will be required to submit to the authority of the one-world government of the United Nations. I believe something significant will happen regarding the third temple of the Jews in the year 2030. It could be the year of the start of its construction or its completion. There are 1,960 years between 70 AD, when the second temple was destroyed, and 2030 AD. That is twenty-eight 70-year periods (28 x 70 ) or four 490-year periods (4 x 490). I believe this temple will be built before 2030, so I think it could be the year of the abomination of desolation and the ceasing of sacrifices and offerings mentioned in Daniel 9:27. 2030 could be the start of the 3.5-year “Great Tribulation,” whereas the Antichrist becomes the sole ruler of the world. This will not be the idealistic “great reset” and “new world order” envisioned by today’s global elites. It will be hell on earth.” {1} Seven Times More (rev310.net) In the calculated Jewish calendar, four out of the 19 years of the current Metonic cycle begin in the wrong month due to intercalary months being added when they shouldn’t be (IMO). This is because those years are determined by the pre-calculated second month of spring when it should be the first month/s of spring, as these first new moons are closer to the vernal equinox (astronomical spring). This makes it more likely that the barley crops would be in a state of “aviv’ (and not overripe) during the first new moon of spring and would be harvest-ready within two to three weeks. If not too early in the season, the first new moon of spring should always be used, just like it was during the original Passover when the Hebrews left Egypt. However, 2030 is not one of these four years, and the Jewish calculated calendar is most likely correct for this year, unlike what I wrote about in The 1290th & 1335th Day of Dan. 12:11-12 (rev310.net). In 2030, the choice of which new moon to use for the first month is March 4 or April 3. If you take the time that the new moon of spring is in conjunction for each date, April 3rd is actually three days closer to the vernal equinox (March 20 at 5:06 pm Jerusalem time) than March 4th is. So, without knowing the barley crops state of aviv, the second new moon of spring would be used for reckoning Nisan 1. This means 2029 has an intercalary month, and Passover would indeed be on April 17, 2030, and not March 18, 2030. Regarding the above-mentioned article, this revision for the date of Nisan 1 throws my hypothetical dates off for the biblical events that will transpire during Daniel’s 70th week, especially the last 3.5 years. It turns out that my earlier two-part article, The End of the Age – From Firstfruits to Hanukkah (rev310.net) and The End of the Age – From Firstfruits to Hanukkah: Part II (rev310.net), most likely contained the correct dates and didn’t need to be changed. Let’s review these dates, as I have slightly revised them and will include some new information. I believe the starting date for Daniel’s 70th week (the Tribulation) can occur on any day, as it is not a “moed” or appointed time like the Feasts of the Lord (Nisan 14, Tishri 10, etc.), and It doesn’t have to occur on the first day of the month, Nisan 1 or Tishri 1. I think it will be “as the days of Noah were”(Matthew 24:37) in more than one way. Genesis 7:1-10 says it took Noah seven days to lead the animals into the ark. There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah. And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened” (Genesis 7:10-11). Before God had Moses change the start of the yearly calendar to the spring season, the original calendar of the Hebrews began in the fall. The first month was originally Tishri, and the seventh month was Nisan (these are not the original names…the original names were changed after the Babylonian captivity). Today, the Jews have two calendars. The religious calendar begins in the spring, and the civil calendar begins in the fall. So, in Noah’s time, the calendar started in the fall. Genesis 7:11 states that the flood began “in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month.” This would coincide with Heshvan 17 on the modern Jewish lunisolar calendar. Seven days earlier would be Heshvan 10. This is the date for the start of Daniel’s 70th week in this possible scenario. Note: The dates used in this article are based on the astronomical new and full moons and not the Jews’ pre-calculated calendar. Daniel’s 70th week (aka Jacob’s Trouble or the Tribulation) will last for seven years (2569 days) by the Jewish calendar’s reckoning. Jacob’s Trouble will not be reckoned by a so-called 360-day prophetic calendar, in which there are two equal halves of 1260 days, but by the Jewish lunisolar calendar, which they have always used. DANIEL’S 70TH WEEK Heshvan 10, or October 20, 2026, will be the start of Daniel’s 70th week when the Antichrist confirms a covenant with Israel and the many (Daniel 9:27). I believe Israel will make a covenant with the Antichrist for seven years in which the Jews will be allowed to build their third temple in exchange for giving up land for a two-state solution with the Palestinians. The end of the Tribulation will be 2569 days later on Heshvan 9, or November 1, 2033. Here is how Isaiah describes this terrible deal: “Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then you shall be trodden down by it” (Isaiah 28:17-18). The first seal will be loosened by the Lamb of God in heaven as described in Revelation 6:1-2. The rider of the white horse is the Antichrist, beginning his ride of world conquest. The two witnesses of Revelation 11 appear upon the scene in Jerusalem fifteen days later on Heshvan 25, or November 4, 2026. According to Revelation 11:3, they will prophesy in the holy city for 1260 days, clothed in sackcloth. If they are clothed in sackcloth, they must be in mourning. They are in mourning because this covenant is unholy as it is not a covenant that God sanctioned, according to Isaiah 28:15. The Antichrist will enter Jerusalem approximately 3.5 years later on Nisan 14, the Passover. Sometime earlier, the Antichrist had recently been killed and resurrected. He was killed in his wars with the ten kings. “And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him” (Daniel 11:45). “And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed.” (Revelation 13:3). The 1260 days of the two witnesses prophesying will end on Wednesday, Nisan 14, or April 17, 2030, when the Antichrist kills them. Nisan 14 is the biblical Passover. It is thought that the Antichrist and the false prophet (with the help of Satan) will be able to summon a beast from the bottomless pit to overcome and kill the two witnesses. “When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them” (Revelation 11:7). He will be able to kill the two witnesses on this day as their God-ordained 1260-day ministry has ended. The killing of these two powerful prophets by the A.C. will convince many people to worship him as a God. The last 3.5 years, or “time, times, and half a time,” of Daniel’s 70th week will be reviewed in Part II. It includes the 1260 days of Revelation 12:6, the 1290 days of Daniel 12:11, and the 1335 days of Daniel 12:12. Isn’t it interesting that the number 12 symbolically represents Israel in the Bible and the two end-time bookends of the Bible, Daniel and Revelation, have these specific timeframes for Israel in the 12th chapters? Randy Nettles [email protected] The Crazy Beast! The Vision of Daniel 7 – Tyler Robbins - https://sharperiron.org/article/crazy-beast-vision-of-daniel-7 Daniel 7 has the same message as Daniel 2 (see the article here). But, whereas Daniel 2 quickly sketches God’s victory over Babylon, Daniel 7 expands the message by way of more fantastic visions. It’s like how Genesis 2 expands on Genesis 1. But as we sit comfortably—far removed from the anxious times in which God revealed these visions to Daniel—we can make a mistake. We can obsess over unimportant details and miss the larger point. God didn’t give us these incredible visions so we’d bog down in irrelevant questions. Obsessive focus on the identity of the four beasts might be interesting and profitable, but they’re not the point. God gave this vision to Daniel as hope for desperate people—so what’s the point of this vision? Daniel’s angelic guide tells us plainly: “16So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things: 17The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth. 18But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever” (Dan 7:17-18). The point is that God wins. He wins big. And even the most fearsome nations will fall before Him. Whatever else you take away from Daniel 7, make sure you get that right. Daniel 7 easily divides into two sections; (a) the dream (Dan 7:1-14), and (b) the interpretation (Dan 7:15-28). First, here is the cast of characters from the vision with my identification for each:
Second, forget the first three kingdoms. Daniel is simply not interested in the first three kingdoms in this vision—he only asks the angel for clarification about the fourth (Dan 7:19-20)—so they are not relevant. I believe the “four beasts” in Daniel 7 are parallel to the four-fold statue at Daniel 2, which means the first kingdom remains Babylon (Dan 2:36-28; cp. Dan 7:2-4, 17-18). A different vision addresses the second and third visions (Daniel 8), but they are not the issue here. So, this article will not address the first three kingdoms at all. Third, focus on the fourth kingdom. The remainder of the article will do just that. The fourth kingdom is “terrifying and frightening and very powerful.” Like the character Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me, it has “large iron teeth.” It crushes and gobbles up everything in its path. It also has ten horns (Dan 7:7), about which the angelic guide later explains. As Daniel stares at this awful creature, pondering the meaning of the 10 horns, “there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it” (Dan 7:8). This “little horn” emerges from among the 10—it is not an outsider. Whatever this “little horn” is, it doesn’t represent a revolution from without but the gradual rise of a new power-center from within. This last horn “had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully” (Dan 7:8). The angelic guide will soon elaborate on this, but we get the impression of intelligence, shrewdness, and arrogance.2 As Daniel looks on in horror, he spies another vision in the heavens above. This one seems parallel to the rise of the fourth beast—it takes place at the same time. “[T]hrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat” (Dan 7:9). This is a solemn, choreographed event. The Ancient of Days has snow white hair, a flaming throne with wheels ablaze, a river of molten fire flows from the chair, and “thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened” (Dan 7:10). This is the same imagery Ezekiel used (Ezek 1), and that the apostle John later re-purposes (Rev 5:11, 20:11-15). In other words, the Ancient of Days is God, and the setting is a courtroom. Then, like a person watching two screens at once, Daniel looks back to the first vision “because of the boastful words the horn was speaking” (Dan 7:11). He keeps looking “until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire,” (Dan 7:11). Its doom resembles that of the antichrist from John’s apocalypse who is tossed into the lake of fire at Jesus’ second coming (Rev 19:20). Daniel now looks back at the second “screen” depicting the heavenly courtroom. He sees “one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven” (Dan 7:13). “Son of man” is a woodenly translated phrase which means “person” or “human being.” Jesus often identifies Himself as this mysterious human figure in the context of His triumphant return to this sphere (Mt 16:27, 24:30; Lk 17:30). Once the Son of man arrives, He receives His eternal kingdom: “His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed” (Dan 7:14). Jesus is the rock from Daniel 2 which smashes the evil kingdom and fills the whole earth (Dan 2:34-35, 44-45). Christians have strong opinions about when this happens—at His ascension or later? The evidence suggests both are correct. Jesus hints that He arrives at the holy court immediately after His death (i.e., at His ascension).3 He tells the Sanhedrin that “from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven” (Mt 26:64). Jesus says His “arrival” to rule His kingdom will be a reality from here on out, and this “seeing” is repetitive—“from here on out, you’ll be seeing …”4 That is, the Sanhedrin will be seeing Jesus rule and reign “from now on.” The irrefutable evidence will be that the good news about His kingdom cannot be stopped. This is the comforting vision Stephen saw just before he was murdered (Acts 7:55-56)—meaning it’s a reality right now. Yet, in Daniel’s vision, the Son of man arrives in the divine courtroom to receive His kingdom after or as the terrible beast is slain—suggesting an enthronement in the last days. This is the future great arrival for which the apostle Paul waits (1 Thess 2:19, 4:16-17)—meaning it hasn’t yet happened. The apostle John refers to this Daniel passage as a future event: “Look, he is coming with the clouds …” (Rev 1:7) and pairs it with a Zechariah quotation about a divine victory over evil (Zech 12:10)—an event that closely resembles those of Revelation 19 (cp. Zech 12:10–13:6). Evidence suggests:
The distinction is like an incident from World War 2. Admiral Chester Nimitz took over his duties as Commander-in-Chief, US Pacific Fleet in December 1941—just after the Japanese attack on the naval base at Pearl Harbor. His headquarters remained at Pearl Harbor, HI. However, as the war went on, Nimitz’s Central Pacific campaign re-took territory the Japanese had captured earlier in the war, and he became further and further removed from the center of action. Eventually, Nimitz moved his headquarters from Pearl Harbor, HI to Guam in January 1945. He had always been the Pacific Ocean Area theater commander, but his move to the scene of action allowed him to exercise more direct and convenient control over his forces. In a comparable way, while God declared Jesus to be His eternal Son and King at His ascension (Acts 13:32-37; cp. Ps 2, 110), the time will come when Jesus moves His headquarters from heaven to earth. Unlike Admiral Nimitz, Jesus is not hindered by distance, but the concept is similar. He wants to be with His people—it’s why one of His titles is Emmanuel (Isa 7:14, Mt 1:23). His people are here, and so when the time comes Father, Son, and Spirit will shift their flag to Jerusalem. Daniel is confused. He asks the angel who (as we saw earlier) gives him the bottom line: “17The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth. 18But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever” (Dan 7:17-18). But Daniel is still troubled. The fourth beast terrifies him. Who is it? What does it mean? When will it happen? It’s so fearsome—what does it signify (Dan 7:19)? We’ll turn to that question in the next article. Notes 1 I’ll wait until the second article to briefly defend this claim. I am following Edward J. Young, The Prophecy of Daniel: A Commentary (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1949), 147-50. For a very compelling argument from a conservative that the fourth beast is the kingdom of the Syrian madman Antiochus Epiphanes, see Moses Stuart, A Commentary on the Book of Daniel (Boston: Crocker & Brewster, 1850), 205-11. For the old saw about the fourth kingdom being the papacy, Albert Barnes does an excellent job (“Daniel,” in Barnes Notes, vol. 7 (reprint; Grand Rapids: Baker, 1998), 76-99). Leon Wood’s wonderful commentary advocates the dispensational perspective of a “revived Roman Empire” (A Commentary on Daniel (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1973), ch. 7). 2 See Barnes, Daniel, 58. 3 See especially Andrew Steinmann, Daniel (St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 2008), 359-60. 4 Gk: πλὴν (contrasting conjunction) λέγω ὑμῖν ἀπʼ ἄρτι (temporal preposition + temporal adverb = marks the time at which something changes) ὄψεσθε (iterative future) τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου. “But I’ll tell you all this—from here on out you’ll all be seeing the Son of Man … arriving on heaven’s clouds.” Daily Jot: Consequences of bad leadership - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The world is demonizing Israel for its retaliation of last year’s October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas. Those who oppose Israel decry the loss of “Palestinian” civilian lives to justify saying that Israel has gone too far. They largely ignore that the terrorists use civilians, schools, hospitals, and UN buildings as human shields, which increase civilian casualties. Even Israel’s so-called allies continue to demand Israel stop its military operations against the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. The Biden-Harris Administration has pressured Israel to end hostilities by withholding weapons and equipment and continue pushing a two-state solution for peace. Both US and Gaza citizens are suffering the consequences. In his book “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel,” author and friend Bill Koenig draws the correlation that when the United States takes action to pressure Israel to divide her land major natural, economic or political disaster follows within 24-48 hours. He documents this phenomena over the last 30 years. It is irrefutable. When you consider what has happened in Israel in the Hamas attack and all the subsequent violence here in the US driven by hate for Jews and Israel, the actions of Joe Biden in trying to once again divide the land of Israel by restoring control of Gaza to the terrorist-backed Palestinian Authority may result in disastrous consequences. Koenig told The Daily Jot: “Helene was a classic record setting Eye to Eye event. The tropical depression that became Helene developed quickly. The first advisory was on Monday at 11:00 am EDT. This was beginning as Israel’s enemies were preparing their anti-Israel speeches (for the UN) and the Biden Administration was continuing to work on an Israeli-Hamas cease-fire deal and was exerting pressure on Israel to comply. Biden and French President Macron pushed a cease-fire deal between Israel and Hezbollah in attempt to stop the war in Lebanon. Interestingly Hurricane Ian, the third costliest hurricane in US history developed and came ashore in Southern Florida during the September 2022 UN General Assembly meetings.” Remember the LORD promised that he would bless those who bless Israel and curse them that don’t. Think about this in the context of leadership—Hamas leadership, supported by some 75% of “Palestinians,” brought disaster upon the “Palestinians.” Biden-Harris leadership by giving billions to Iran, 2) giving 100’s of millions to Hamas/Palestinian Authority for “humanitarian” aid, and 3) stymieing Israel with limits on weapons has brought tremendous harm to Americans given the historical aspect of these natural disasters, political disruption, and financial disruption when opposing Israel. On top of that, Iran with the assistance of the money given to it by the Biden Admin, is trying to kill the only president we’ve had that zeroed-out aid to these terrorist entities. Proverbs 29:2 says, “when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Under bad leadership both the just and the unjust suffer the consequences. Something to think about in an election year. Daily Devotion: Interdenominational and Interfaith Are Not the Same Thing - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’ —John 14:6 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/interdenominational-and-interfaith-are-not-the-same-thing/ - Listen Revelation 17 describes “the great prostitute” who will wreak havoc in the last days. The prostitute is the image John uses to refer to the one-world religion that will dominate the end times. Because of the imagery John uses, it’s hard to say what the false religion will teach. But it’s likely that it will combine the teachings of various major existing religions. Or that it will just gloss over the differences between religions and declare them all to be equally valid. Sound familiar? It’s a message we hear a lot today: “All paths lead to God.” Instead of focusing on the differences that separate Christianity from other belief systems, we are encouraged to embrace the things we have in common: sincere faith, the desire to make the world a better place, and so on. It’s a tempting proposition. With all the divisiveness in our world today, what’s wrong with ignoring some of the lines that separate us and finding common ground, especially when it comes to spiritual things? There are two theological words we need to understand when we talk about this issue: interdenominational and interfaith. An interdenominational ministry bases its doctrine on the nonnegotiables of the Christian faith, starting with Jesus’ words in John 14:6. But in the areas that are negotiable—such as worship style, the observance of the Lord’s Supper, and the interpretation of certain Bible passages—it breaks down the walls that separate different Christian denominations. An interfaith ministry tries to create common ground among different religions. And here’s where we must be careful. There’s nothing wrong with Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and other religious groups working together to help people in need. But we can’t blur the lines that God’s Word establishes. Jesus said there is no other way to God—no other way to experience eternal life—than through Him. If He’s wrong on that point, how can we trust anything else He said? There’s value in having a dialogue with people of other religions. We see that in Acts 17, where Paul takes the gospel to Athens, the cultural and intellectual center of the world at that time. Some two thousand years later, I got to do the same thing. I walked in the footsteps of Paul. I even spoke on Mars Hill, where Paul addressed the people of Athens. Athens was an interfaith city, to say the least. It’s estimated that it housed at least thirty thousand altars to various deities. Acts 17:16 tells us that Paul was “deeply troubled by all the idols he saw everywhere in the city” (NLT). He didn’t see them as equally valid as his Christian faith. He wanted the people who worshipped those idols to know the truth about Christ. So Paul used what he’d learned about those false religions to begin a dialogue. He embraced the interfaith setting as an opportunity to share his faith. And we can do the same—as long as we understand what is nonnegotiable.
