Months of negotiations have proved fruitless, and it appears that we really are about to get a “full-fledged war” in the Middle East. Sadly, I don’t think that any of the parties involved have really thought this through. Both sides have been arming themselves to the teeth since the last war ended in 2006, and both sides are willing to literally do whatever it takes to win. Of course Israel will not just be fighting Hezbollah this time around. The IDF will be facing an entire alliance of enemies, and in order to win such a conflict the Israelis will be forced to do things that they would rather not do. On Tuesday, Israel and Hezbollah just continued to pummel one another… Israel announced dozens of new air strikes on Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon Tuesday, a day after Lebanese officials say 558 people, including 50 children, were killed in the deadliest bombardment since a devastating war in 2006. Israel’s latest strikes on southern Lebanon came after it said it had killed a “large number” of militants as it struck about 1,500 suspected Hezbollah targets around the country. Hezbollah said Tuesday it had launched volleys of missiles at Israeli military bases, hours after 180 of its projectiles and an unmanned aerial vehicle crossed into Israeli airspace, sending people in the city of Haifa running for shelter. The Israeli military said more than 50 projectiles were fired into northern Israel in less than 10 minutes on Tuesday morning, most of which were intercepted. In addition to projectiles, Hezbollah also sent drones deep into Israeli territory. In fact, it is being reported that drones actually targeted a naval base which is located quite a bit south of Haifa… Sky News and others are reporting that for the first time of the conflict, Hezbollah has launched a drone attack on a navy base which lies south of Haifa. The Atlit navy base which was targeted lies 80 kilometers from the Lebanese border. This is an attack significantly deep into Israel and reveals an extended range of Hezbollah missiles. Likely as things slide further, and with Israel keeping up its intense airstrikes on Lebanon, Hezbollah missiles will begin reaching further and further. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said late in the day Tuesday (local time) on X: “We will continue striking Hezbollah. Anyone who has a missile in their living room and a rocket in their garage will not have a home.” Hezbollah just keeps escalating matters, and this is a huge mistake, because it is just going to make Israel even more determined to take action. IDF forces are being deployed to northern Israel, and a spokesperson for the IDF has told the press that the army is at a state of “full-scale readiness”… Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the IDF, insisted military chiefs were “not looking for wars” but would do “whatever is necessary” to ensure Israel’s security. He later clarified the army was at “full-scale readiness”, meaning an invasion could be on the cards. My personal opinion is that Israel will not launch an operation in southern Lebanon this month. But Israeli President Isaac Herzog is warning that “we will do whatever it takes to bring our citizens back home and enable calm in our cities”… “Israel is not interested, did not want this war, and is not interested in going to war with Lebanon,” Herzog told CNBC’s Dan Murphy on Tuesday. “But Israel has been attacked from Oct. 8 from Lebanon endlessly. And if you look at the situation today, Hezbollah has launched missiles and rockets all over the northern part of Israel. So we will do whatever it takes to bring our citizens back home and enable calm in our cities. That’s the situation.” “We’ve shown our capabilities, and we have much more on the way, if they will continue,” Herzog added. For now, I expect that Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah targets all over southern Lebanon, and thousands upon thousands of local residents are fleeing north in order to escape the violence… Cars choked Lebanon’s highways as people fled into the night, trying to escape north toward the capital Beirut. “It was a day of terror,” 41-year-old housewife Thuraya Harb told AFP at a makeshift center for displaced families in Beirut after fleeing her home in south Lebanon. “I didn’t want to leave my home, but the children were scared,” the mother of four said, adding that the family fled “with nothing but the clothes on our backs.” So many families and so many children on both sides are being affected by this conflict. That should deeply sadden all of us. But this is just the beginning. So much death and destruction is ahead, and a top EU diplomat is admitting that we really are “almost in a full-fledged war”… “I can say that we are almost in a full-fledged war,” European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told reporters earlier. “If this is not a war situation, I don’t know what you would call it.” As I discussed earlier, when an all-out war erupts it won’t just be Israel fighting Hezbollah. Every day, there are more reports of Iranian-backed militia groups sending troops to Lebanon. Here is just one example… Most of the leaders of the Iranian-backed militias have left the city of Mayadeen, east of Deir Ezzor, over the past two days, for the Qusayr area in the Homs countryside and from there to Lebanon, according to a local reporter of the DeirEzzor24 Network . Our reporter said that among those leaving were the so-called “Hajj Najaf”, the official in charge of the Iranian “Al-Shifa” hospital in the city of Mayadeen, and “Hajj Malik”, the military commander in the Revolutionary Guard militia, with some leaders remaining in the city to complete some administrative matters, with the possibility of joining them. The departure of the militia leaders from Deir Ezzor for Lebanon comes amid an Israeli military escalation against the Hezbollah militia in southern Lebanon. Many of these troops are quite eager to participate in a “final showdown” with Israel. Of course there are a lot of experts that believe Iran could be pulled directly into the conflict as well, and Iranian leaders are issuing some very ominous statements… Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said today that its ally Hezbollah ‘cannot stand alone’ against Israel, which he said was ‘being defended and supported and supplied by Western countries, by European countries and the United States’. He said Iran had ‘never started a war in the last 100 years’ and was ‘not looking to cause insecurity’. But he insisted that Iran ‘will never allow a country to force us into something and threaten our security and territorial integrity’, while his foreign minister Abbas Araghchi posted on X that ‘Iran will NOT remain indifferent’ to the conflict. Iran and Hezbollah both possess vast arsenals of highly sophisticated missiles. And the combined ground forces of Iran, Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed groups throughout the region would greatly outnumber the ground forces that the IDF is able to muster. So as the Daily Mail has pointed out, we could eventually be facing a scenario where the U.S. military has to get directly involved and Israel feels forced to use weapons that it does not want to use… The Islamic Republic has thousands upon thousands of long-range and precision-guided missiles alongside hundreds of thousands of mid-range cruise missiles. This appears to be the worst-case scenario feared by Israeli defence experts – a coordinated attack in which Iran, Hezbollah and other members of the so-called Axis of Resistance launch wave after wave of missile and drone strikes that overwhelm Israel’s air defences and devastate towns and cities. Several analysts told MailOnline that terrifying prospect is unlikely because it would prompt the US to come to Israel’s defence – and could even raise the spectre of Israel turning to its secretive stockpile of nuclear weapons. We really are on the verge of the unthinkable. But nobody will be able to say that we weren’t warned. It has taken decades for us to reach this point, and even though we are on the brink of an apocalyptic war nobody seems to want to back down. This is not going to end well, and vast numbers of people are going to die. Soldiers are killed. Families are devastated. Cities are destroyed. Economies are ruined. In direct economic cost, Israel’s war against Hamas is estimated to come out at $67 billion. But there is a mounting hidden cost which is likely to plague Israeli society for some time to come. I mention these points so that when we pray for Israel, we might not only pray for their war effort but also for many of the societal challenges they face as a result of the wars they are fighting. Tourism Aside from the overall population itself, the sector which has been hit the hardest is tourism. In peak years, where Israel usually expects close to five million tourists, the value to the economy is in the billions of dollars. According to the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, a little over three million tourists entered Israel during 2023. That is, until October 7, 2023. Since the war began, tourist numbers have plummeted. For those who rely heavily on tourism income, it has been devastating, particularly since they were just starting to recover from the COVID-19 lockdowns. Fluctuating violence is nothing new to tour operators. Nor is the last-minute cancellation of incoming tour groups due to unexpected war and terrorism. They usually have a financial reserve to help them survive challenging times. However, the COVID-19 lockdowns depleted those reserves and as a result, many businesses are now in a very precarious position. Although many pivoted to helping with relief efforts, if tourism does not recommence soon, many will face financial ruin. Tourism operators are also growing concerned at rising antisemitism throughout the world, which they believe may not only dissuade some tourists from visiting, it may also result in commercial boycotts and a lack of viable air transport for tourists. Businesses According to a Times of Israel report in July 2024, 46,000 Israeli businesses have had to make the heart-wrenching decision to close due to the poor economic environment. Sadly, that number is expected to rise to 60,000 by the end of 2024. Personnel is another key challenge for businesses. Reservists undertaking their military service had to be suddenly removed from their work commitments, leaving little time to organise replacements. Additionally, 85,000 Palestinian workers have disappeared from Israel’s construction industry as they have not been allowed into Israel to work due to security concerns. Couple that with the fact that many foreign workers working at building sites left the country and it means that many building sites have had to shut down completely due to a shortage of workers. Mental Toll Not surprisingly, the mental health trauma directly and indirectly related to the events of October 7 will take time to accurately assess. However, there are already key signs that many Israelis are struggling to cope with the trauma. A recent Jerusalem Post report indicated that one out of every three women and one out of every five men report having a high level of post-traumatic stress following the events of October 7. According to the Israel Centre on Addiction and Mental Health this is an increase of 150% among women and 65% among men, compared to data from 2022. Unfortunately, the trauma has translated into substance abuse (whether prescription drugs, alcohol or recreational drugs). In 2018, 1 in 10 Israelis had substance abuse disorders. In 2022, that number rose to 1 in 7 (which medical professionals directly attributed to the COVID-19 crisis). However, by November 2023, substance abuse rose to 1 in 5 and by December 2023, it was up to 1 in 4. Sadly, the 1 in 4 statistics relates to the general population. Among those who have been evacuated from conflict zones it is approximately 1 in 3 and among the survivors of October 7, it is 1 in 2. That is a devastating ratio. If, as anticipated, there is a long, complex and deadly war in the north against Hezbollah, these statistics are expected to worsen. Farming Terrorists who infiltrated the Gaza Envelope on October 7 didn’t just take lives, they severely damaged the Israeli agricultural sector. Chicken coops were incinerated. Hectares of crops were ravaged. Irrigation systems were dismantled. Greenhouses were burned to the ground. Orchards were flooded. Farming equipment was either burnt or stolen. According to a recent report in The Jewish Chronicle, more than half of the 45 communities attacked on October 7 were agricultural kibbutzim and moshavim in a once-arid region that now produces approximately 70 percent of the country’s vegetables, 20 percent of its fruit and six-and-a-half percent of its milk. Furthermore, the Hamas attacks damaged 40,000 hectares of agricultural land and cost $500 million in lost farmer income and infrastructure damage. Yuval Lipkin, deputy director general of Israel’s Agriculture Ministry, declared last November that, “Israel’s agriculture is in its biggest crisis since the establishment of Israel.” For example, consider the steep cost of replacing equipment alone. Most insurance companies don’t cover physical assets destroyed during war. However, the Israeli government’s assistance programs only reimburse the depreciated value of the equipment at time of destruction. Therefore, if you had a four-year-old tractor, its depreciated value might be $100,000 but the cost of replacement is $300,000. Jewish philanthropy, displayed in full leading up to and after 1948, may well need to be called upon once again to rebuild farming communities. In Conclusion Right now, many nations of the world are actively opposing Israel, whether that be through war and terrorism (by Middle Eastern nations) or through political opposition (by Western and Asian nations). Many are tearing at the fabric of Israel, believing that if Israel disappeared, the world would be a better place. Yet, we are reminded of the promises of God as spoken through the prophet Isaiah. In the future, nations will not come to Israel with war or political pressure, they will come because the Lord is there. Isaiah 2:2-3 says: “Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.’ For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” In that time, Israel will no longer be a hated and rejected pariah. The controversial declaration approved by the UN General Assembly, known as the “Pact for the Future,” is seen by the UN and its member governments as a great leap forward for the cause of globalism. In short, the UN is becoming “UN 2.0,” as top leaders of the organization put it. However, in the United States, at least, lawmakers, governors, and grassroots leaders are growing increasingly restless about what they perceive as a historic power grab, putting many attendees at the UN summit on edge as Donald Trump prepares for a possible return to the White House. UN General Assembly President Philemon Yang of Cameroon claimed the UN deal would “lay the foundations for a sustainable, just, and peaceful global order – for all peoples and nations.” Other leaders of the organization echoed the sentiment. According to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, former leader of the world’s preeminent alliance of socialist and communist political parties, the UN Summit of the Future represents “an essential first step towards making global institutions more legitimate, effective, and fit for the world of today and tomorrow.” “Transforming” (read: empowering) the UN with vast new authorities and responsibilities has been one of the major focuses of the massive gathering and is woven into the pact. “We can’t create a future fit for our grandchildren with systems built for our grandparents,” continued Guterres, a line that was printed out on giant signs throughout UN headquarters as delegates discussed “reform” of the powerful UN Security Council with a goal of eventually eliminating veto powers of the permanent members. The final agreement adopted at the Summit for the Future formalized those ideas with the backing of virtually every national government and dictatorship on Earth. “We recognize that the multilateral system and its institutions, with the United Nations and its Charter at the center, must be strengthened to keep pace with a changing world,” reads the Pact for the Future, which was adopted by “consensus” featuring token opposition from a handful of governments. “We renew our commitment to multilateralism and international cooperation,” the Pact adds. “We will transform global governance and strengthen the multilateral system.” Only more globalism can handle the real and imagined problems facing humanity, according to the document. A “recommitment to international cooperation based on respect for international law,” the pact says, is “required,” with international cooperation, like “multilateralism,” serving as a synonym for globalism. “This is not an option but a necessity,” it continues. In fact, the agreement specifically claims that nations and their governments cannot possibly handle the alleged problems that face humanity without the UN. “Our challenges are deeply interconnected and far exceed the capacity of any single State alone,” the pact states. “They can only be addressed collectively, through strong and sustained international cooperation.” The term “global governance,” often used as a less-ominous placeholder for global government, is mentioned repeatedly throughout the document, always as something positive to be advanced. Under the heading “transforming global governance,” for instance, the pact calls for a dramatic expansion of these mechanisms for governing all of humanity. “Today, our multilateral system, constructed in the aftermath of the Second World War, is under unprecedented strain,” the pact says, pointing to supposed (and undefined) “remarkable achievements” over the last 80 years. “But we are not complacent about the future of our international order, and we know that it cannot stand still.” One of the institutions that received a shoutout is the would-be global Supreme Court known as the “International Court of Justice,” often ridiculed by critics as a “kangaroo court.” “We will fulfil our obligation to comply with the decisions and uphold the mandate of the International Court of Justice,” the Pact states. Another area where the UN hopes to expand its power is on taxation, vowing to “explore options” for “international cooperation” on taxes and in particular, on taxing “high net worth” individuals. “We are committed to strengthening the inclusiveness and effectiveness of tax cooperation at the United Nations,” the UN deal explains, one of many efforts to eventually implement global taxation. Ultimately, though, globalism must expand across the board. “We will take action to strengthen and reinvigorate multilateralism and deepen international cooperation,” it continues, offering “unwavering commitment to international law” for dealing with supposed challenges. “A transformation in global governance is essential to ensure that the positive progress we have seen across all three pillars of the work of the United Nations in recent decades does not unravel. We will not allow this to happen.” However, as highlighted by The New American in another article, the UN recognizes that humanity — and especially American taxpayers who pay the bulk of the bills — are growing weary of the UN. “We must renew trust in global institutions by making them more representative of and responsive to today’s world and more effective at delivering on the commitments that we have made to one another and our people,” the agreement reads. One of the major tools to help the UN “renew” trust in globalism is controlling information, as the pact makes clear. It calls on governments to “address” so-called “disinformation, misinformation, hate speech and content inciting harm, including content disseminated through digital platforms.” Of course, “hate speech” was a term introduced into the UN lexicon by the mass-murdering Soviet dictatorship to describe speech it hated. “We will work together to promote information integrity, tolerance and respect in the digital space,” governments vowed in the UN agreement, followed by a dizzying array of actions they intend to take. “We will strengthen international cooperation to address the challenge of misinformation and disinformation and hate speech online and mitigate the risks of information manipulation in a manner consistent with international law.” It is not just restricting information that counters the UN narrative. A confidential memo sent to communications executives across the UN system earlier this year and obtained by The New American magazine included provisions on how to propagandize humanity on the Summit of the Future and its agenda. “The Summit of the future is a pivotal moment on our agenda,” the memo said, adding that the UN Department of Global Communications “wants to make sure we take the media with us – starting with briefs on specific parts of the agenda.” One way the UN has done that is by partnering with Google to hide information contrary to its narratives, especially on issues such as climate. “The Summit will have a narrative and key message booklet to help staff understand how to communicate on the issues,” it added. “There is an increasingly large group of people who are mobilizing to get past cynicism, but some of the issues are hard to sell. Making multilateralism work is something we should sell. Advertising agencies are happy to help – we should consider how we can ‘flood the internet’ with positive, factual campaigns.” One of the major power grabs in the final agreement inked this weekend involves the UN response to what it describes as “complex global shocks.” These could be anything from “climate” issues or economic problems to environmental crises or even unpredictable “black swan” events. Under a proposal outlined in a policy brief dubbed “Our Common Future” released by UN boss Guterres last year, Guterres himself would essentially become a global dictator to deal with real or imagined international emergencies, declared at his discretion. The proposal called for nations, business, and all sectors of society to recognize the “primary role of intergovernmental organs [such as U.N. agencies] in decision-making.” While the final agreement this week did not contain everything he asked for, it did provide a “mandate” from member states for Guterres to pursue the agenda vigorously. “We recognize the need for a more coherent, cooperative, coordinated and multidimensional international response to complex global shocks and the central role of the United Nations in this regard,” the Pact declared, calling on Guterres to devise new ways to “strengthen the United Nations system response to complex global shocks.” A key theme of the pact was reaffirming commitments to previous UN agreements and schemes such as the UN “Universal Declaration of Human Rights,” a tool of tyrants aiming to replace the U.S. understanding of God-given unalienable rights with UN-granted revokable privileges. In particular, the UN Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a recipe for global tyranny adopted in 2015 as the “master plan for humanity,” was a focal point of the new deal. “We reaffirm our enduring commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals,” the new agreement states, vowing to “urgently accelerate” its implementation with “concrete political steps” and more tax money. As part of that, the UN claims it needs virtually limitless amounts of power and money to do everything from “eradicate poverty” and “eliminate food insecurity” to deal with alleged man-made “climate change” and reduce “inequality” both “within” and “among” countries. Ironically, as this magazine has documented, many of the real and imagined evils the UN pretends to fight were created or worsened by UN policies or those of its member states. Added to the pact were annexes including the “Global Digital Compact” to have the UN take the lead on regulation of the digital realm (data, Internet, Artificial Intelligence, and more). Also attached to the final agreement was the “Declaration on Future Generations” pretending that all the efforts to usurp more power for the UN are really “for the children” and generations yet unborn. The UN summit and the resulting agreement come on the heels of U.S. Congressmen Ralph Norman (R-SC), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Eli Crane (R-AZ), Bob Good (R-VA), foreign policy experts, and faith leaders meeting on Capitol Hill last week to protest the impending UN power grab disguised as a “Pact for the Future.” “It looks like they are attempting to sell out our sovereignty once again with this agreement,” said Representative Eli Crane at the press conference. Congressman Biggs, the former leader of the House Freedom Caucus, was also blunt: “We can’t give up any more of our sovereignty, any more of our geopolitical integrity, or any more of our economic integrity to foreign actors who have no concerns for the United States of America other than to take our power and money away.” Already, more than half of U.S. governors have publicly pledged to resist UN dictates in their respective states. Meanwhile, for the first time, Congress currently has bills to end U.S. involvement in the UN in both houses of Congress: House Bill 6645 and Senate Bill 3428, both labeled the “DEFUND Act.” There has been virtually no coverage of the UN summit or the pact from the establishment media in the United States — and that is no doubt by design. If and when Americans learn what the UN is up to, Congress would be compelled by a public outcry to stop funding it all at the very least. Jesus Himself gave the prophecy as part of the Olivet Discourse while sitting with His disciples overlooking the Temple Mount: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation… (Matthew 24:6–7). The prophecy we need to look at in this fascinating time in history is Jesus’ statement that “nation will rise against nation” in an unprecedented way just before He returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom on earth. When giving only a cursory glance at these words, we think that, yes, that’s certainly true. Many a nation has risen against another nation just during the past several decades. There have been many wars, and other wars are looming. But, is this the kind of “nation against nation” reference Jesus specifically gave? To answer this, we must look at the Greek language–the language from which the New Testament was translated into English. Jesus was in actuality saying these uprisings would be unusual in that they would be based in ethnos–the Greek word for “nation.” They would be ethnic in origin. They would pit ethnic, or racial, group against ethnic group. It is equally true that ethnic factors have been the cause of many wars throughout the centuries. The Arabs and Jews–as a matter of fact, many ethnic peoples against the Jews—marked the conflicts of Old Testament times. Almost without exception, those early wars were “ethnic” in origin. Things haven’t changed. Arabs and Jews still have the ethnos factor at the heart of their differences. And, never in history has the conflict been more virulent. Israel is hated like no other people—and by almost all of the nations of the world. The Islamic nations—mostly Arab—are blood-vowed to push the Jews into the Mediterranean Sea and wipe the Jewish race from the planet. Some Arab leaders of the past and other leaders–e.g., Iranian leaders—continue to want all Jews expunged from the region, and even off the planet, as we hear incessantly through their protesting US college-campus minions. They have made it their national policy through their oratorical invectives. There have been conflicts in the century just passed involving peoples of the Caucuses, the Balkans, etc., and horrific slaughters in Africa and other places–all based upon ethnic differences. Now, this hemisphere is experiencing the burgeoning effects of ethnic conflict. The invasion of illegal aliens from points at US borders north as well as south, welcomed by a presidential administration that seems conjoined to the globalist intention to bring America into compliance with their New World Order aspirations, is threatening to erupt into violence within even smaller cities. This invasion affecting even the smaller towns is easily discernable through reports like the following: At this moment, there is a tremendous amount of discussion on social media about what is happening in the city of Springfield, Ohio. The Haitian population of Springfield has become very large, and Newsweek is reporting that it is being alleged that “some of these people have been killing and eating folks’ pets”… Springfield, which had a population of around 60,000, has recently been at the center of the immigration debate, with its Haitian community growing to between 15,000 and 20,000 over the last four years, according to city officials. The past few days have seen locals report that some of these people have been killing and eating folks’ pets… At a recent city commission meeting, one local resident was literally begging for officials to do something. He claimed that migrants are “grabbing up ducks by their neck” and “eating them”… “I really challenge you guys to get out here and do something,” he told the meeting. “These Haitians are running into trash cans, running into buildings…they’re flipping cars in the middle of the streets…” The man added: “They’re in the park, grabbing up ducks by their neck, and cutting their head off and walking off with them. They’re eating them.” (“Are they really eating our pets?”, Rapture Ready News, September 10, 2024) Point is, Jesus said that a great, swelling uprising involving ethnic strife would grow to be a major crisis during the Tribulation era–that last seven years just before He returns to put an end to all of the conflicts at Armageddon (Revelation 19:11). This ethnic eruption we’re witnessing each day in our headlines is something to watch closely, so far as being observant for prophetic end-times signals is concerned. The unrest constitutes yet another indicator of where this generation might stand on God’s prophetic timeline. We can say with a degree of certainty based upon study of God’s Word, and belief in the pre-Trib Rapture of Christ’s Church, that because of the burgeoning ethnic unrest, in conjunction with all of the other indicators we see interjecting themselves with growing intensity and frequency, Jesus’ shout, “Come up here!” can’t be far distant. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: The Cat Lady - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com We were walking down the street in Cape Charles, Va last week and passed by the local Democratic Party headquarters. There was a huge display promoting Kamala Harris as the Cat Lady. Of course, it was a take-off of the recent debate between Harris and Donald Trump, where Trump claimed that Haitians in Springfield, Ohio were eating people’s pets—cats and dogs. He was immediately corrected by the “impartial” debate moderator, and the topic has moved front and center of the entire race for the presidency as if it were more important than toilet paper during COVID lockdowns. Kamala is now the heroic Cat Lady. I thoroughly researched the Springfield situation and my findings may surprise you. While Donald Trump often speaks in hyperbole to make his points, he rarely speaks without knowing the truth behind what he is saying. The news media and his opponents smugly “correct” him with their own version of the “facts,” but they are speaking to their own agenda. The media and his critics make Trump out to be some crazy extremists just lying to the public about the outrageous things he brings to the forefront. And while people have to suspend their disbelief to get their minds around what Trump is saying, it usually reflects some basic common sense that is far too often overlooked by the media and the very smart people who hate Trump. Sometimes it would be better for Trump if he communicated his claims differently, but he says what he says and that is what the media and his opponents twist into stupid narratives. The situation in Springfield with Haitians is dire. Interesting that the city council meeting where Trump likely got his information is a cauldron of opposites. On one side are residents of Springfield—American citizens. On the other side are a bunch of leftist politicians holding yet another Marxist-style show hearing. Citizen after Citizen testified about how the Haitians were eating the geese out of the lakes, camping without permission in front yards, causing accidents and property damage with inerrant driving, and so on. There is even a police report about Haitians stealing the geese from the lake, and pictures of Haitians carrying geese they killed for food. The cat eating Haitian was actually a body cam video from last year of a woman who ate a local cat in Canton, Oh. Her attorney claims she is mentally ill. The Springfield City Council, local and state politicians and media deny there is a problem. Nothing to see here. Trump and the citizens of Springfield are exposing the problem while the media and democrat politicians mock them. The same people who propagated the false COVID narrative are telling the eye-witness citizens they aren’t seeing what they are seeing. So who are you going to trust? The government shills or the people with first-hand experience? As the post-debate truth trickles out, we are finding Harris and the Moderators were lying, but only a small portion of the population will hear the corrections. The damage already has been done. Harris has no campaign issues and so being the Cat Lady is her best chance. 2 Timothy 3:13 warns of “evil men and seducers…deceiving and being deceived.” Cat Lady, really? People complained about too much hellfire-and-brimstone preaching. But when was the last time anyone has heard a hellfire-and-brimstone message? Sadly, the sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” that Jonathan Edwards preached in 1741 would not be allowed in many churches today. Many people have gone too far in the other direction, teaching that God is an all-loving, benign, supreme being that doesn’t seem to have any opinions about the way we live. The assumption is that as long as we’re true to ourselves, then it’s okay with Him. He accepts us the way we are. We like the qualities of God, such as love, forgiveness, and compassion, and the incredible fringe benefit of eternal life in Heaven. On the other hand, we’re appalled by a God of holiness who desperately loves us yet requires repentance as well as trust, a God who promises to judge those who refuse to come to Him on His terms. Others look at God as some kind of pagan deity who simply needs to be appeased. They think that if they go through religious rituals, they’ve done their part, and they can build up credit for sinning that week. People can follow that god as much as they want. But that is not the God of the Bible. When we start picking and choosing the things about God that appeal or do not appeal to us, we are not only diminishing our view of who God is but also believing and teaching a false gospel. Some preachers today offer weak, watered-down proclamations in the name of the gospel. They tell you to believe, but they don’t tell you to repent. They tell you there’s a Heaven, but they don’t tell you there’s a Hell. And they tell you there’s forgiveness, but they don’t tell you there’s repentance. If we don’t include those things, then it isn’t the gospel. We cannot edit the gospel according to what we like or don’t like. It’s for us to share it as God gave it. Otherwise, we strip the gospel of its power and effectiveness. We cannot control what happens in the world. But at the same time, we cannot allow the belief system of a secular society to influence the way we believe. The idea is not to conform ourselves to the world’s way of thinking. It is not to bend the Bible to the culture. When we desperately want to please everyone and not offend anyone, we will fail to make an impact on our culture. When we start tampering with the essentials of our faith, such as the Bible, the gospel, and the nature of God Himself, we are making God into a different image. The God of the Bible does love us and accept us as we are. But the God of the Bible also wants to change us. He wants to conform us into the image of Jesus Christ.
