However, all total lunar eclipses tend to have a rusty-red tinge, hence the term. The blood moon spoken of in scripture will occur during the Tribulation when there will be natural disasters of unimaginable proportions. The brethren in Christ will be raptured before this occurs. And though it's relatively rare that the eclipse occurred on a supermoon, something significant did occur on January 20 that appears to be the real reminder of where we are on God's timeline. In the daylight hours (Israel time) on January 20, an Iranian missile from Syria was launched toward the southern slopes of Mt. Hermon in the Golan, which was packed with Israeli skiers. Fortunately, the Iron Dome intercepted it. In response, Israel launched an unusual daylight attack on Iranian targets surrounding Damascus in Syria, and another after sundown. The attacks were acknowledged by Israel, which is also unusual, and the strikes were said to have been quite destructive. No doubt, there has been a serious step-up lately in what is going on in the Middle East. Amir Tsarfati of Behold Israel explains it in his update at this link. Interestingly, these strikes occurred immediately before and during the beginning of the traditional Jewish holiday Tu B'Shvat (The New Year of the Trees). It is a one-day holiday that began as the sun went down on January 20. Prophetically significant? Perhaps not, but it does remind us of certain scriptures, as we will see. According to the site Hebrew4Christians, this day is associated with the beginning of spring in Israel when the earliest-blooming trees begin their fruit-bearing cycle. When the ancient Temple stood in Jerusalem, Tu B'Shvat served as the day the firstfruits of the trees that had turned 4-years-old were brought as offerings (Leviticus 19:23-25, 26:3-4). This practice was discontinued after the destruction of the second Temple in 70 AD, followed by the Romans actively driving the Jews from their homeland. This 70- to 80-year (Psalm 90-10) generation bore witness to the re-blossoming of the nation of Israel (May 14, 1948). Israel was a desolate wasteland before the Jews returned. Ezekiel 38-8 speaks of this as well as other scriptures that speak of last days events. Here are just two of those examples: "The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose" (Isaiah 35:1). "Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel... Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things" (Jeremiah 31:5). Between 1948 and 1951, the largest migration ever to reach the shores of modern Israel occurred. "Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them... Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he" (Jeremiah 31:8-11). When the Jews returned to Israel, one of the first things they did was to plant trees. Tu B'Shvat now serves as a national arbor day in which new trees are planted and the rebirth of the Jewish homeland is celebrated. It is customary to eat the firstfruits of the Land of Israel on this date. It is those who are in Christ who have the firstfruits of the Spirit. "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body" (Romans 8:22-23). Is creation groaning these days? Yes, with greater intensity and frequency. And contrary to what the global government pushers would have people believe, it's not caused by man and cows. Here is another passage that speaks of the Jews returning to Israel in the last days, which will see "the time of Jacob's trouble" (also known as Daniel's 70th week and the Tribulation): "For, lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again (reverse) the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. And these are the words that the Lord spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus saith the Lord; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it... "For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished... "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after... Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked The fierce anger of the Lord shall not return, until he hath done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it" (excerpts from Jeremiah 30). Armageddon will occur in the lifetime of those who witness the return of the Jews to their homeland after worldwide dispersion (Joel 3). Though the eclipse that just occurred is not the one since the Tribulation has not yet begun, looking up at the skies likely reminded the brethren of the glorious moment that will occur one day soon, when Christ will appear in the clouds to take us Home to glory (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). This step-up in activities regarding Israel and Syria would appear to be leading up to the eventual fulfillment of Isaiah 17 when Damascus will be annihilated in one night. Other parts of Syria and northern Israel will suffer as well when this occurs. The prophesied nations will shortly thereafter attack Israel. But God will personally intervene in a spectacular way and destroy the invaders. We can assume that the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39 will occur during the prophesied "time of Jacob's trouble" (Daniel's 70th week; the Tribulation). Why is that? Because the last seven years (Daniel's 70th week) - before Christ's physical return to Earth to set up His Millennial Kingdom - is set aside to turn the still mostly secular Israel back to God. The fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39 will do just that: "So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,' says the Lord God. 'This is the day of which I have spoken'" (Ezekiel 39:7-8). All, be they Jew or Gentile, that are left to face the Tribulation will be without excuse. Israel is the key to last days prophecy. As prophesied, the attention of the whole world is on Israel (Zechariah 12). This chapter speaks of the destruction of the nations that come against Israel - and Israel's recognition of the Messiah, Christ Jesus. In the following verses in Luke 21, Jesus was speaking to the Jews, as the church did not officially begin until Pentecost (in Acts); however, we all are seeing the beginning of the prophesied convergence of signs that tell us we are in the very last days when God's wrath will be poured out on the unbelieving world during the tribulation. "And they (the disciples) asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? And he said... Ye shall hear of wars and commotions... Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven... "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. "And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled... Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (see Luke 21:7-32). As for those in Christ: "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth" (Revelation 3:10). "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:9). May we with urgency watch and warn, plant the seed of the Gospel to as many as we can (Romans 10:9-10), and pray that it bears fruit in the form of changed lives. In response, Iran issued a chilling message to arch-enemy Israel - warning it is "impatient" and ready to confront and destroy the nation in a statement issued just hours after Israel launched the air raids in Syria. The former Pentagon official Michael Maloof has warned the situation between the two states is getting "quickly out of hand" due to the "intensified Israeli attacks". Mr Maloof told RT America: "You have got to keep in mind that the alleged Iranian attack was in response to a prior Israeli attack on Syria. "So, basically, the Israelis started the whole thing by firing rockets at their sites at the side of Syria. "So what this indicates is a very rapid escalation that's occurring and Netanyahu himself basically stated that he is only going to intensify and I think this is also a prelude to something even more serious in terms of probably creating even greater uncertainty and conflict within the region itself. "And it can happen very rapidly." The war expert added: "If the Israelis begin to bring in aircraft and start attacking targets directly I think this, particularly with the Russian presence there, it's going to really escalate into something much greater and it is already becoming that." Speaking after at least four Syrian soldiers were killed in the raids carried out by Tel Aviv, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netahyahu hit back at Iran's stern warning and said he will hit back against "anyone who tries to harm us". The operation targeted the elite Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, according to Israel Defense Forces. The head of Iran's air force said on Monday the country was ready to fight Israel and destroy it. Speaking to the Young Journalist Club, a website supervised by state television, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh said: "The young people in the air force are fully ready and impatient to confront the Zionist regime and eliminate it from the Earth." The raid shook the night sky over Damascus with an hour of loud explosions in a second consecutive night of military action. Israel, which regards Iran as its biggest threat, has repeatedly attacked Iranian targets and those of allied militia, including Lebanon's Hezbollah, in Syria, aiming to push them far from its frontier. Since they control 85% of the news data that people consume each day, they have the ability to shape public opinion like no other organization. I think Satan spends more time in the media headquarters in New York and Hollywood than he does in Washington DC. To prevent people from wondering why all the news networks have a leftist agenda, the liberal media has maintained the lie that they are nonpartisan in their coverage. Never mind the polls that show the press voted Democratic 90% in each election. When they are accused of being biased against a Republican, they claim to just be doing their job. The liberal media has become so aggressive in spreading its leftist propaganda, they are no longer satisfied with the role of simply placing their fingers on the scale of public opinion. They want to control who has access to the American people. Chuck Todd of Meet the Press recently said that he was not going to allow anyone on his show who questions Climate Change: "We're not going to give time to climate deniers. The science is settled, even if political opinion is not. And we're not going to confuse weather with climate. A heat wave is no more evidence that climate change exists than a blizzard means that it doesn't, unless the blizzard hits Miami." If there is a blizzard in New Orleans in May, we're still good because Chuck Todd has set the standard so ridiculously high that Climate Change cannot be disproven. When President Trump asked to address the nation about the $5 billion asked to help secure the southern border, the press doesn't want to give him the time. They argued that Trump was a known liar, and he would expose their precious viewers to misinformation. They only relented in allowing him to speak under the condition that the two leading Democratic leaders were allowed to contradict him. Liberal 100% ownership of news and entertainment allows them to green light a project that would not have made it in a politically balanced world. Annapurna Pictures has a movie in theaters called Vice. The film is simply a cheap attack on former vice-president Dick Cheney. The giveaway to the leftist agenda came when Christian Bale was given an award for his portrayal of Cheney. He got onstage and thanked Satan for giving him the ability to play someone so evil. Showtime is about to air a series starring Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes, the deceased head of the Fox News Channel. The eight-episode program will focus on sexual harassment claims that several women at Fox News brought against Mr. Ailes. The series has been hit with a lawsuit seeking $750M because of slanderous portrayals of Laura Luhn, who in the film is essentially a pimp for the much-accused Ailes. There are no schools named after this man. Only liberals would think there is a need to create a series about a subject matter so gross. Another way that the liberal media expresses its ownership over the news is their fixation with a system that will filter out fake news. For months they have talked about some type of rating system for all news providers. The latest plan being promoted is an app called NewsGuard. It's by an organization called NewsGuard Technologies, which describes itself as simply a "news rating agency." NewsGuard has received considerable attention in the mainstream media of late, having been the subject of a slew of articles in the Washington Post, the Hill, the Boston Globe, Politico, Bloomberg, and Wired. NewsGuard is obviously funded by leftist interests, but my problem is not with their motivation. This app is dangerous because it's focused on controlling who has access to readers. You can't create honest journalism by having people voting on what news they like. Mankind's evil nature hates the truth. People have long feared that our nation would be enslaved by someone who sets himself up as a dictator. What has typically happened in the past is that a Hitler-like despot takes over all branches of government and then all forms of media. I think our greatest danger is the reverse being true. We already have a massive media that has an autocratic structure. All that is missing is a person who will play the role of tyrant. Former Texas Congressman Beto O'Rourke is being treated as a possible frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. Even though he lost to Ted Cruz in November, the press still thinks he has some type of JFK or Obama quality. In a recent statement, he questioned whether the United States Constitution is still relevant today. A few years ago, the liberal media would pounce on anyone who made such a remark. Today, it's not a political sin because the demonically controlled press is looking for a partner to share its evil agenda. Beto will likely crash and burn with 30 other candidates, but the environment is perfectly ready for a messiah to appear who has all the answers. "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. Exodus 19:1 (The Israel Bible™) As researchers debate the location of Biblical Mount Sinai, the Saudi Arabian government is moving forward with plans for a mega-city built on top of one of the prime candidates. Last year, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced plans to create a mega-city named Neom on the coast of the Red Sea. The plans for the city are ambitious indeed: at a cost of $500 billion, Neom will be 17 times the size of London and 33 times the size of Manhattan. The city will cover 10,230-square-miles extending 285 miles along the coast of the Red Sea and run entirely on renewable energy. The name "Neom" was constructed from two words. The first three letters form the Ancient Greek prefix neo- meaning "new". The fourth letter is from the abbreviation of Arabic Mostaqbal meaning "future." Though the designated area in northwest Saudi Arabia near the Jordanian border is relatively desolate and empty, conflict arose when several people asserted that one mountain, Jabal al Lawz (Mountain of Almonds) was where Moses stood when he received the Ten Commandments from the hand of God. In a recent documentary, Finding the Mountain of Moses, Ryan Mauro, National Security Analyst for the Clarion Project, warned of the dire consequences should the Saudi mega-city be built. Many scholars claim that Mount Sinai is in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt but Mauro rejected that claim based on the "more than 70 times the Bible says the Israelites went out of Egypt." "If all of us don't take action, Saudi construction in the area may destroy key evidence and prevent excavation for the foreseeable future," Mauro said in his movie. Mauro is not alone in his assertion that Jabal al Lawz is the Biblical Mount Sinai. After visiting the site in 2018, Bible scholar and bestselling author Joel Richardson told WND, "If those on the fence actually could visit the site, I guarantee they would be fully convinced, or 95 percent there." "This is a mountain with a dark-colored basalt rock on the top, as well as a cave on its front - 'the Cave of Elijah' - with an altar at its base with bulls carved all over it, 'the Golden Calf altar,' he said. "It also has an animal corral and altar, and pillars at its base, consistent with God's command to Moses to build at the base of the mountain," said Richardson. Researchers have proposed about 20 different locations for Mt. Sinai and there is no consensus of opinion. Scholars fall into two camps: those who suggest sites found in the modern Sinai Peninsula and those who favor locations in Saudi Arabia. Of the five proposed locations in the Sinai Peninsula, Jebel Musa (Moses' Mountain), the site of St Catherine's monastery, is the most popular. In addition to the conflicting opinions, there is also some confusion as the location of the precise mountain. Jabal Maqlā (Burnt Mountain) located about four miles to the south, is often misidentified as Jabal al-Lawz by various authors such as Bob Cornuke, Ron Wyatt, and Lennart Moller as shown by local and regional maps. Mauro will be posting a website with a petition calling on the U.S. State Department and Saudi government to preserve the sites and have them put on UNESCO's World Heritage list. Due to Saudi restrictions on visitors, the site is difficult to research and if the Saudi plans go through, it will be impossible. Newly discovered petroglyphs at the foot of mountain depict archers which Richardson claimed are based on a warning by Moses that anyone who set foot on the mountain would be shot with arrows. Another petroglyph depicts a seven-branched menorah which Richardson maintained indicates the ancient Hebrews visited the site. Consistent with the biblical account of water pouring out of the rock, there are clear signs of water erosion in an arid area where such erosion is evident nowhere else, said Richardson. Rabbi Harry Moskoff, the author of the A.R.K Report, concurred that Mount Sinai is in Saudi Arabia but disagrees with the theory that Jabal al Lawz is Mount Sinai. "The theory that Jebel al Lawz is the location of Sinai is very low on Biblical facts," Moskoff told Breaking Israel News. Moskoff explained that the theory was first made popular by a book, The Gold of Exodus, published 20 years ago. "Other researchers followed that lead but there were a lot of errors in that theory. In order to research this subject, it is necessary to go back to the original sources which are Biblical and Jewish." As an example, Moskoff pointed out that Cornuke based his theory on the Hebrews leaving Egypt 19 days before crossing the sea. "I don't know where he gets 19 days from," Moskoff said. He cited Seder Olam Rabbah, a 2nd-century CE Hebrew-language chronology detailing the dates of Biblical events from the Creation to Alexander the Great's conquest of Persia. "The Seder Olam Rabbah states explicitly that it was seven days until they arrived at the sea." Moskoff noted that in many cases, sites of Biblical importance were usurped or disrespected. "There is a bit of tension between the religions when dealing with sites of Biblical importance," Moskoff said. He noted that the site of Christian researchers do not typically refer to Jewish sources. Moskoff noted the irony in the religious division over the site since Jethro, Moses' non-Jewish father-in-law, joined the Hebrews at Mount Sinai. This particular multi-faith aspect of Sinai is described in the section of the Torah being read by Jews around the world this week. "There are monasteries and mosques at most of the holy sites as well," Moskoff noted. "This may be a religious conflict but it may also be just staking out territory. The Palestinians are staking out territory, trying to take over all of Israel. For the Christians, it is theological. Ideally, it should not lead to a monopoly by one religion and the exclusion of all others." Neom was slated to be completed in 2025 but construction has stalled, if not from heaven then due to political entanglements. Bin Salman's government was accused of murdering a journalist, Jamal Khashoggi. The crown prince admitted in 2018 that, as a result of the ensuing scandal, "No one will invest [in the project] for years." Daily Jot: Anatomy of deception - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com Discernment in perilous times is extremely important that we are able to heed the warning of Christ in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Last week, there was a story that originated from Buzzfeed citing anonymous sources saying that President Donald Trump directed his personal lawyer to lie about his business dealings in Russia. In particular, the story said that Trump told Michael Cohen to say that he had no business dealings in Russia. All the while, the story says, Trump was working with Russian officials to reach agreement on putting a hotel in Moscow. In the immediate aftermath, the mainstream media and Democrats called for Trump's impeachment over 200 times. Trouble is, the story is not true. The Daily Jot held back from reporting on this news because it didn't meet our criteria. First, the facts in the story didn't add up--it didn't appear that Trump instructed a lie. He had no business deal on a hotel in Moscow, although his business team was trying to reach one, according to the story. So where is the very basis for the story-the lie? Seasoned businessmen know that there is no deal until the deal is signed, raising a red flag in discerning this story. The headline said Trump instructed a lie; the story didn't support the claim. And just because someone is told to lie, the person is responsible for his own actions. Then there was a new twist. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Trump for Russian collusion in the 2016 election, rebuked the story. Peter Carr, spokesman for Mueller's office, said. "BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's Congressional testimony are not accurate." Buzzfeed also was first to publish the infamous "pee" dossier on January 10, 2017 that started the Russian election investigations. That dossier was found to have been fabricated by a former British Intelligence officer working for Fusion GPS. Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee hired Fusion GPS to produce the now discredited dossier. That Buzzfeed broke the lie instruction and the pee dossier stories was another red flag. The news media and the Democratic Party leadership went into full gear calling for more investigations of Trump and his impeachment following Buzzfeed's story. Then Mueller's office issued its statement. The news media had to pivot, but the impeachment calls and investigation threats remain. This is the anatomy of deception: Put the false story in the public, let the media cover it repeatedly, the story is found to be untrue, the damage is already done, move on to the next fake story. Neither Mueller nor the President nor anyone else can undo the damage already done. As a nation, as countrymen, we should be as David in Psalm 101:7, "He that works deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that tells lies shall not tarry in my sight." We need to banish the liars from our houses and from our sight that we are not deceived in the time ahead. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. -Exodus 3:1-2 After forty years in the desert, Moses was ready to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He just didn't know he was ready. One day as he was watching the sheep, Moses saw a bush that was on fire but wasn't burning up. When he walked over to see what was going on, God spoke to him through that bush and recommissioned him. Sometimes when you're going about your day and there's an interruption, it actually may be a divine intervention. Or maybe you've experienced a disappointment in your life. You thought you should have done a certain thing, but God said no, and you were disappointed. Sometimes a disappointment is God's appointment for you. When I was a brand-new Christian, I met a girl who I thought was amazing. As we were talking one day, I said, "Would you like to go out to dinner with me sometime?" She said no. But she happened to have a really cool Volkswagen van. My car, a Corvair, was always breaking down. One day I got into a collision, and my front headlights literally were crisscrossed. But the car kept running, so I kept driving it. Eventually, a police officer pulled me over and effectively told me to get that car off the road. I had been driving from Orange County to Riverside to speak at a Bible study that eventually became Harvest Christian Fellowship, and suddenly I didn't have a car. So the nice girl who didn't want to go out to dinner with me allowed me to borrow her Volkswagen van. Then I met Cathe. You see, Cathe was the one the Lord had chosen for me.
