(From World War One: First war was impossible, then inevitable; Anatole Kaletsky) Although I have used this quote in the past, I've found myself drawn to it again due to its precise accuracy describing the seemingly incredible and often unpredictable nature of geopolitics. Prior to World War I, who would have believed it? Yet after it was over, the warning signs of impending trouble were so obvious that most could not believe they had missed it. Even though the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand could not have been predicted, it simply became the right crisis at the right time the old powers used to set the world afire. World War I itself then became a forcing function by the old world who were stubbornly clinging to the dying vestiges of the world as it was. However, change came nonetheless and no one could stop it. Juxtaposed to the seemingly unpredictable (and unbelievable) nature of global geopolitics, is the inevitable march towards a future, one-world system. We can see early efforts for this in moves like the League of Nations and later, the United Nations (UN). The UN, along with its cornucopia of bureaucratic offshoots, continue to try to gain global influence and power through treaty and peer pressure. What it lacks at present is a military force capable of enforcing any of these treaties. Even more so, is the combined financial, informational, and military efforts across the world, solely concentrating on consolidating more and more power into fewer and fewer hands. This is made possible by the snowball-effect of the technological advancements in the 20th century. In fact, so much innovation has transpired over the past century that the technological advancements of the 20th century alone have eclipsed all the progress of the previous six thousand years of human history combined. Our dependence on technology has all but ensured that an ultimate centralized power controlling everything is already a foregone conclusion. Assessment When asked about the last days, Jesus told His disciples that the end of the age would be recognizable because of the many signs those days would present themselves. Although these signs in and of themselves were not unique (as signs are meant to point to something further down the road), what would be unique was the manner of their manifestation. Jesus likened these signs to 'birth pangs' a woman goes through leading up to the birth of a child. In pregnancy, the first and second trimesters have few (if any) contractions (pangs). But as a woman enters into the third (final) trimester, the pangs first come sporadically but soon come in rapid-fire regularity finally reaching a crescendo in both frequency and intensity to the point where the child is coming and she must seek immediate care for delivery. So too would the generation that enters into this final "trimester" of human history be witness to the delivery of 'the child.' For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:20-23 Just as Rome's founding was many centuries before it became a world power, the same is true for the United States. The US was founded in 1776; but did not become a world power until the end of World War II. For a brief period following WWII, the US remained the world's lone super-power. It was here in this tiny window of time, that she became instrumental in providing the global and political influence the newly formed nation of Israel would need in order to survive as an island of democracy in a sea of tumultuous Islamic theocracies. But like everything else, the world's corruptive and persistent influence has/is forcing the United States to concede to its demand to divide Israel. This is primarily due to our dependence on oil from said Islamic theocracies. Inevitably, our betrayal equates to a "ratcheting-up" of seemingly insolvable problems due to the Abrahamic Covenant effect, which God both promises and warns that I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. We view this covenant in a global sense, (since God was speaking to the nation who would come from Abraham) as the prophetic fulfillment we know simply as the convergence. In other words, the more the world turns against Israel, the more problems the world is going to have. "For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. Joel 3:1-2 The convergence then is simply the visible escalation and divine approval of natural calamities and man-caused problems since 1977. The land for peace agenda began this year between Egypt, Israel, and the United States with the Camp David Accords. Since then, there has been an ever-increasing series of tragic and horrific events overwhelming the entire world. For those watching, the rapid uptick has been startling. For the rest of the world, the normalcy bias has set in and the world has been lulled back to its slumber. Presumably, Satan learned his lesson post-Calvary (1 Cor. 2:6-7) and now understands (Rev. 12:12) that his time is running out. The conflict we then see in the world is one in which the world that is currently controlled by Satan (Luke 4:5-6) is trying to stay the way it is, rather than allow God to press forward with His divine timeline. This then results in wars and rumors of wars, which inevitably allows for rapid innovation. Man's technological, financial, and political progress careens forward then because crisis demands action and solutions. In other words, Satan can't stop God's agenda no matter what he tries. The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. Luke 16:16 Therefore, in the macro-sense, the world continues to press forward in all aspects, and the drama involving all its nation-states seems to be ever fluid and unpredictable. The issues of death, eternity, the kingdom of God, heaven, hell, God, the angels, etc., all seem to be distant things no one wants to talk or even think about, yet it will not go away. Inarguably, there have been moments in time where mankind's mortality (in the collective sense) has been so shaken, that it unintentionally makes the world wake up, even if only for the briefest of moments. Such has been the case with 9/11 or the 2011 Japanese Tsunami. Even then, a little time passes and said-event passes into mankind's short-term memory. Conclusion The election of Donald J. Trump was in a sense, the last gasp of a free American people. Here is a man who by all accounts (at least according to every expert and think tank on the planet) should not have won the election. His election was as unthinkable and as impossible, as the scenario found in the start of World War I. Yet, win he did, and he did so with as Steve Bannon called it, the island of misfit toys team. Let me explain. For eight years, both Christians and conservatives had been force-fed the incessant mantra of the big three lies by the Obama administration. It was done with an intensity and zealotry that was shocking to anyone who had an ounce of common sense. For brevity's sake, the big three whoppers were man-made climate change, aggressive historical revision (whitewashing or rewriting historical facts), and that all cultures and religions are equal. It was piped through all the Sunday news shows and by all the academic panels with their "experts." These were they who all created the perfect echo chamber to make sure this message was beaten into our heads day after day. By the time 2016 rolled around, the last vestiges of American common sense found itself electing a man who was so far removed from the mainstream political fray out of sense of rebellion against having to endure another four years of the democrat propaganda machine. Nevertheless, elections have consequences and the lies that were pumped via airwaves and Wi-Fi for eight years have unfortunately stuck in Western culture. This has us Christians are looking around the world today and finding ourselves increasingly at odds with the mainstream narrative. Even worse, is that there is a growing rift in Christendom between those congregations who are acquiescing to a culture in decline (accepting of gay marriage, transgenderism, abortion on demand, illegal immigration, cultural relativism, etc.), and those who are not bending the knee to popular consensus. Pretty soon, those not bending the knee will be as popular (and numerous) as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego on the plain of Dura (Daniel 3). But are we Christians guilty of the same type of wishful thinking that those in the old world were guilty of by believing we can keep the world as it was? Are we guilty of actually thinking we can Make America Great Again? The Bible does not predict any great revival in the last days before the Tribulation (i.e., the 70th Week of Daniel). America is far too diverse today to ever make that an eventuality. I do not mean ethnically diverse, but politically, religiously, and ideologically. Ten people in a room could not agree on where the moon was in relation to the earth. Furthermore, President Trump is finding out the hard way that the swamp does not want to be drained, and will do everything in its power to prevent it. The same could be said for our brothers and sisters across the pond in Great Britain with BREXIT. I do not believe it ever will happen because the EU and British swamps cannot let that happen. My intent is not to be Mr. Doom and Gloom (Doug Woodward already owns this title!), but to simply make one point. The reason that the born-again Christian is finding himself or herself increasingly at odds with the world is that the world is the swamp, and is in the process of giving itself over to a strong delusion. Instead of draining it, God is going to purge it through judgments and with fire before He makes it great again. However, before He does any of that, He is going to remove His people by way of the Harpazo (i.e., the catching up or the Rapture). Then the world will be forcibly cast headlong into the final week of years. So fellow believer, do not get too sentimental on the world is it was, or frustrated at what it has become, because it is about to change. For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:16-17 Palestinians: "No Place for the Zionist Entity in Palestine" - by Bassam Tawil - https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/13796/palestinians-zionist-entity A Palestinian terror group says that its engineers have developed "accurate and destructive" missiles that can reach the "occupied" cities of Tel Aviv, Netanya and Jerusalem. Abu Hamza, spokesman for the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Iranian-funded Islamic Jihad organization in the Gaza Strip, threatened that his group's "rocket unit" would turn Israeli cities into "hell." "There is no place for the Zionist enemy on the land of Palestine," Abu Hamza said. "Either they leave this blessed land, or they will be dealt one painful strike after the other." Islamic Jihad is the second-largest Palestinian terror group in the Gaza Strip, after Hamas. Neither group recognizes Israel's right to exist. Both say they are committed to the "armed struggle until the liberation of all Palestine, from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River." The leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad see Israel as one big settlement to be uprooted from the Middle East. For them, there is no difference between a Jewish settlement in the West Bank and any other city inside Israel. As far as they are concerned, Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Haifa and Nazareth are all "occupied" cities. Palestinian weather forecast bulletins often publish names of cities inside Israel on a map that does not mention the word Israel. The Palestinian leaders say that the conflict with Israel will end only when Israel is annihilated. "We won't give upon one inch of the land of Palestine," said Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. "We will continue to fight until all the refugees return to their homes" -- meaning areas in Israel within the "green line" 1949 armistice borders. In 2017, Hamas published a document of "General Principles and Policies," in which it claimed that it was ready to accept a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines (West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem) -- but without Hamas recognizing Israel's right to exist or Hamas "giving up all of Palestine." In other words, Hamas is saying that it would not oppose the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem; it would use these territories as a launching pad to "liberate the rest of Palestine." The Hamas document clearly states that "no part of the land of Palestine shall be compromised or conceded, irrespective of the causes, the circumstances, and the pressures, and no matter how long the occupation lasts." It affirms that Hamas "rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea." The document also states that Hamas will never recognize the "Zionist entity" or relinquish any Palestinian rights. Although Hamas says in the document that it is ready, for now, to accept a Palestinian state alongside Israel, it nevertheless considers "Palestine, which extends from the River Jordan in the east to the Mediterranean in the west, and from Ras Al-Naqurah in the north to Umm Al-Rashrash [Eilat] in the south, an integral territorial unit. It is the land and the home of the Palestinian people." The Hamas document has been misinterpreted by some Westerners as a sign of moderation and pragmatism on the part of the terrorist group. Reuters, for example, claimed in a May 1, 2017 dispatch that Hamas has "dropped its long-standing call for Israel's destruction." This claim is completely false. Reuters, like several other Western media outlets, ignored those parts of the Hamas document that mentions the need to eliminate Israel. Here are other parts of the document that reveal Hamas's true intentions: "The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas is a Palestinian national liberation resistance movement. Its goal is to liberate Palestine and confront the Zionist project. Palestine is an Arab Islamic land. It is a blessed sacred land that has a special place in the heart of every Arab and every Muslim. There shall be no recognition of the legitimacy of the Zionist entity. Whatever has befallen the land of Palestine in terms of occupation, settlement building, Judaization or changes to its features or falsification of facts is illegitimate. Rights never lapse." Worse, some Westerners have gone so far as describing the document as the "new Hamas charter." Again, that claim is false. The Hamas charter, which was published in 1988, continues to exist; it has never been changed or amended. This charter states : "... the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. Neither a single Arab country nor all Arab countries, neither any king or president, nor all the kings and presidents, neither any organization nor all of them, be they Palestinian or Arab, possess the right to do that... "Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious. It needs all sincere efforts. It is a step that inevitably should be followed by other steps. The Movement is but one squadron that should be supported by more and more squadrons from this vast Arab and Islamic world, until the enemy is vanquished and Allah's victory is realized." For the past three decades, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have been major players in the Palestinian arena. They are not splinter factions than can be dismissed as irrelevant. The two groups control nearly two million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip. Each group has its own political leadership , as well as militias that possess various types of weapons, including rockets and missiles. The two groups also have thousands of militiamen in the Gaza Strip who consider themselves "soldiers" and "freedom fighters" in the war to eliminate Israel and kill Jews. Those who think that Hamas and Islamic Jihad will vanish one day are living in an illusion. The two groups continue to pose a real threat, not only to Israel, but also to Mahmoud Abbas's Palestinian Authority (PA) in the West Bank. Were it not for Israel's security presence in the West Bank, Hamas and Islamic Jihad would have toppled Abbas's regime long ago. Hamas and Islamic Jihad despise Abbas and consider him a traitor because of his purported support for a two-state solution. Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar was recently quoted as saying that when his movement "liberates Palestine," it will bring Abbas to trial for betraying the Palestinians. Hamas and Islamic Jihad should be given credit for their clarity and honesty regarding their ambitions. The two groups are clearly saying that their ultimate goal is to see Israel removed from the region and replaced with an Islamic state. As far as they are concerned, the conflict with Israel is not about a settlement or a checkpoint or even Jerusalem. Instead, it is about the presence of Jews in what they regard as their own homeland and State. Any Middle East peace plan that ignores what Hamas and Islamic Jihad are saying is doomed to fail. Moreover, ignoring the two groups will pose a massive threat to security and stability in the region. The US administration, which says it will unveil its plan for peace in the Middle East after the Israeli elections in April, ought to think and think again about the plan's possible repercussions. This is what members of the US administration needs to ask themselves: What will happen the day after a Palestinian state is established? The answer, according to Hamas and Islamic Jihad (and other Palestinians) is that the Palestinians will use this state to continue the "armed struggle" until the liberation of the occupied cities of Tel Aviv, Nazareth, Tiberias, Jaffa and Haifa. Under the current circumstances, a Palestinian state will pose a clear and present existential danger to Israel. The Islamic Jihad threat of turning Israeli cities into "hell" by firing missiles at them needs to be taken seriously by those who are working on the upcoming US peace plan. Any land that is given to Abbas and his Palestinian Authority in the West Bank will be used in the future by Hamas and Islamic Jihad as a base for launching rockets and missiles into Israeli cities. Then, the terror groups will not need accurate, long-range rockets to achieve their plan to destroy Israel's population centers: they will be sitting right across the street from them. It is the deeper state of depravity into which America has entered that demands to be addressed. That being said, the former matter, like the latter, is part of the same depraved nature of man. It is rebellion against the Creator that is moving the nation and world ever downward toward the abyss where sin will be incarcerated for all eternity. We witness daily all the madness and say with a shake of the head: "It's just insanity." We have seen it in the political realm. The party of the ideological left continues to seemingly self-destruct. They do things that make no sense from the perspective of what under the norms of times just past would seem rational. For example, New York City leaders, desperately in need of revenue to fund their "progressive" giveaways, let a 29-year-old, first-term congresswoman-who most often speaks like a teenager-cause $27 billion in taxes from Amazon to be lost. The company instead moved to another state. The neophyte politician, who has an economics degree from Boston University or one of those schools, thought the city was going to give $3 billion to the company to come to the city. But that wasn't the case. The company would have paid $30 billion annually to the city, with the city government agreeing to give the company a $3 billion tax break, meaning they would pay $27 billion. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez convinced her constituency and hundreds of thousands of other "progressives" that they didn't want their city paying $3 billion to Amazon, because one of their key hatreds in their ideology is hatred for the rich. Donald Trump, after all, is a billionaire... This hatred could not be contained, even though Amazon leadership is totally left on the ideological spectrum in every sense of the anti-Trump political war. In addition to the lost $27 billion in tax revenue annually, New York City lost what would have amounted to 25,000 jobs. The top officials in Ms. Cortez's party hierarchy aren't happy about this matter. So, as we say here in the South, they cut off their noses to spite their faces. It shows the growing spiritual dementia, I think. It is an ever-deeper state of depravity into which this generation is descending. Other symptoms of this dementia-malady can be seen in the same political party in which Ms. Cortez is considered the up-and-coming darling. For example, more than 70 percent of all Americans, which includes those strongly in favor of abortion, say they are against after-birth infanticide. And, infanticide is exactly what a growing number of progressively run states are proposing following in the footsteps of New York City's decision to let just-born infants die if they were intended for abortion but continue to live after the birth. Despite this large percentage against such horrendous action, the Democrat Party continues to expand the attempted legalization of this infanticide. Other states continue to attempt to pass laws allowing this satanic practice. Excerpts of a recent news item frames the depravity. The newly elected Governor JB Pritzker has promised to make Illinois the abortion capital of the world, and he's making good on his word... Illinois is taking extreme measures to ensure women are free to...abort their babies, even when they're partially born... [The legislation, if enacted] repeals the Illinois Abortion Law of 1975, the Partial-birth Abortion Ban Act, and the Abortion Performance Refusal Act. That means doctors and medical facilities can be sued for NOT performing an abortion. You have a religious objection to abortion? Too bad Dr. Mohammad! You better suck that fetus out or you're through! ("Illinois Democrats propose laws expanding abortion access - including repeal of parental notification for minors," https://t.co/XHk6k2hQiq, Rapture Ready News, Feb 16, 2019) The genuine madness continues to rage. The Apostle Paul's spiritual truth as given in Romans chapter 1 is coming to pass every day before our eyes and ears. Turning from God leads to reprobate (upside-down and evil) thinking and action. A stunning example of this is manifest in a recent news story. A group of grandmothers in Maine is causing quite a stir for a little group they've formed "GRR!" which advocates for their children and grandchildren to have the right to abort any further progeny According to LifeNews.com, GRR!, or "Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights," seeks to "educate women at the local level about the pro-abortion agenda, and encourage women to speak with their local government officials about supporting abortion and other reproductive health issues." About 40 grandmothers participate in GRR!, according to a report. ("Pro-Abort Grandmas in Maine Form Group to Promote Aborting Grandkids," By ISRAEL WIRE, Rapture Ready News Feb 16, 2019) Just the acronym for the "grandmas" organization alone should clue us. "GRR!" They are obviously angry at someone or something. Paul indicated the anger of this rebellious generation at the end of the age would be directed toward the Creator of all things. This prophecy has proven true. It seems that more than half of the U.S. is growling forth their hatred like an angry bear just out of hibernation. We recall one of Paul's key "perilous times" prophecies in 2 Timothy, chapter 3. He foretold that people will be without "natural affection." For those grandmas and grandpas reading this, does this make a profound statement as you think of your love for your grandkids? America and the world are moving swiftly down the road of Sodom and Gomorrah-like depravity. When the Church and the restraining power residing within Christ's Body goes to the Lord Jesus when He calls, that movement will become an instant free-fall into the Tribulation abyss. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Watchman Warning: Eternal Hallelujah - By Hal Lindsey - https://www.hallindsey.com/ww-2-25-2019/ Jonathon Edwards said, "You contribute nothing to your salvation except the sin that made it necessary." That's a humbling statement, but true. It's humbling because we like to pay our own way. But when it comes to salvation, we can't. We don't have the resources. So, Jesus paid the price for us. We can either accept that gift or reject it. But we need to know that it is a gift. Jonathon Edwards helps put that in perspective, too. He said, "If there be ground for you to trust, as you do, in your own righteousness, then all that Christ did to purchase salvation, and all that God did from the fall of man to prepare the way for it, is in vain." Why would God go to all the trouble? Why would Jesus bother to die a horribly painful, cruel, and humiliating death on the cross if we could be good enough on our own? If we could pay our own way, why did He have to pay with His life? God is perfectly just. It is an essential part of His nature. As humans, we are only partly aware of the extent of evil in any sin. When we hear of child molesters, or terrorists beheading their innocent victims, we get but a glimpse of sin's awfulness. God sees it fully. He sees all of it for what it is. And He has pronounced judgment on it. But God also loves us. Jesus, God the Son, came to earth as a human being, lived a perfect life, and then took the full weight of God's judgment against sin onto Himself. That's why John the Baptist introduced Jesus to the world with the words, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." (John 1:29) His audience should have understood from centuries of animal sacrifice the meaning of the words, "Lamb of God." Jesus would cover our sin with His blood. The first verse of the Book of Revelation tells us its true title - "The Revelation of Jesus Christ." The English word "revelation" is a translation of the Greek word, "apokalupsis." That's where we get the word, "apocalypse." "Revelation" is a good translation. It means "unveiling" or "disclosure." It is a revealing of Jesus. Here's one of the things it reveals. Twenty-four times in the Book of Revelation alone, Jesus is referred to as "the Lamb." Revelation 19:1 says, "After these things I heard, as it were, a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, 'Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.'" Salvation belongs to God. It does not belong to you. God wants you to be a good person. He wants you to be moral, ethical, kind, and loving. But those things are the result of His salvation, not the cause of it. Salvation belongs to God. It was purchased fully on the cross of Christ. It can be yours only as a gift. Moments before Jesus took His last breath, He cried out from the cross, "It is finished!" (John 19:30) He used the Greek word, "tetelestai." It means "Paid in full!" Jesus took our certificate of debt and wrote across it in His own blood, "Paid in full." When we receive His pardon, we can never be tried for our sins again. It's settled forever in heaven by the blood of the only begotten Son of God. The New Living Translation says it well in Colossians 2:14. "He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross." All your sins and failings - past, present, and future - were nailed to the cross. Jesus paid the price forever. That's why we sing "Hallelujah." And that's why we will sing it forever! Daily Jot: National emergencies and tyranny - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com Democratic Party leftist primary presidential candidates Julian Castro (former HUD Secretary under the previous president), and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) both would call national emergencies over climate change and gun violence if elected. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) also said that gun violence was a national emergency. Senator Corey Booker (D-NJ) indicated he would consider declaring a national emergency on gun violence if elected. Democrats see the national emergency declared by President Donald Trump to protect national security by building a wall on the nation's border with Mexico as a precedent to banning guns, taxing for climate change and student debt. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) warned on February 14 that a president using the National Emergencies Act for such things as building a border wall would be a forerunner for a Democratic president to use the act for political reasons. Pelosi said, "You want to talk about a national emergency? Let's talk about today, the one year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America. That's a national emergency...A Democratic president can declare emergencies as well. So, the precedent that the President is setting here is something that should be met with great unease and dismay by the Republicans." Castro told MSNBC's "Hardball" on Monday that he wouldn't hesitate to declare a national emergency on gun violence and climate change. Castro said, "If I take office on January 20, 2021, that I will come into office with a strong belief that climate change is a national emergency, that the fact that so many people in this country die because of gun violence, that is a national emergency." The intent of the National Emergencies Act is to allow a president to call a national emergency when the nation's security is in jeopardy. It has checks and balances in it for Congress to act. The language of the Act, however, is ambiguous enough that these communists in the Democratic Party could well make the case for confiscating guns or outrageous taxes for the unproven and fraudulent concept of "climate change." The idea that our national security is compromised by gun violence is a stretch. The ownership of guns as guaranteed by the 2ndAmendment is protection against the very thing these leftists want to do-take over the government, or as Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) says, "complete that (political) revolution," meaning wealth redistribution by an iron-fisted dictator. Do not be lulled into thinking these people's esoteric ideas are grand because they also have one thing in common-they disdain true Christianity. Given the option of national emergencies, religious freedom would be among the first to go as it is the biggest threat to communism's tyranny. Daniel was a godly man who lived in Judah, but he had been carried away captive to the king's palace in Babylon. Daniel was so wise that the king came to really rely on him as an adviser, which aroused the anger and jealousy of the king's other counselors. They wanted Daniel out, but they couldn't find even a hint of scandal in his life. They did know one thing about Daniel, however. He prayed openly three times a day. So they persuaded the king to sign a decree that no one could pray to any God except the king, and it was made into law. Daniel knew about it, but he prayed anyway. In fact, he opened his windows as if to say, "You want to know if I'm praying? Check it out. I'm going to pray like I always do." Even the king couldn't overrule the law, so Daniel was thrown into a den of lions. Interestingly, the king was up all night. He couldn't sleep, but Daniel slept like a baby. Maybe Daniel propped up his head on one of the lions. "Come over here, Simba. Your belly looks like a good pillow. And I'm going to prop my feet up on Leo over here and have a nice nap." Meanwhile, the king was stressed out. He really liked Daniel, so he showed up early the next morning to check on him. And he found Daniel alive and well. Christians are indestructible until God is done with them. God sent His angels to deliver Daniel. And God will send His angels to deliver you.
