Coronavirus: Manmade or God-Ordained and Imposed? - By Jim Towers -
https://www.raptureready.com/2020/03/05/coronavirus-manmade-or-god-ordained-and-imposed-by-jim-towers/ Regarding the coronavirus, this is a complex situation with so many conflicting reports and speculations. What we do know for sure is that it is causing widespread panic across the globe, with some wondering if this is part of the end-times signs prophesied in the Bible. It began in Wuhan, China. Surprisingly enough, it happened just as there were uprisings against the Chinese government. The protesters were being rounded up and imprisoned, and the news media was shut down - as well as other news organizations. But the virus infections didn't happen until it seems that things were getting out of hand. Could it be that the virus was unleashed on the protesters in an attempt to quell their protests? We all know that communist China is fully capable of killing off dissidents. If that be the case, then perhaps the government acted irrationally and without forethought - not knowing the ramifications if this untried biological weapon were used indiscriminately. Panic of the public has sent stock prices plummeting, and there are fears that commerce may soon come to a standstill. They know that with commerce coming to a standstill because of this illness that it's only a matter of time that the marketplace will falter and goods will become scarce. Meanwhile, Rush Limbaugh says, "It looks like the coronavirus is being weaponized as yet another element to bring down Donald Trump... The drive-by media hype of this thing as a pandemic, as the Andromeda strain, as, 'Oh my God, if you get it, you're dead,' do you know what the - I think the survival rate is Ninety-eight percent. Ninety-eight percent of people who get the coronavirus survive. It's a respiratory system virus. It probably is a ChiCom laboratory experiment that is in the process of being weaponized. All superpower nations weaponize bio-weapons. They experiment with them.... Do not misunderstand. I'm not trying to get you to let your guard down... But we're not talking about something here that's gonna wipe out your town or your city if it finds its way there." What about the SARS virus that hit from late 2002 to the summer of 2003? That was contained. The death rate was also said to be higher than what we're seeing with the coronavirus. But that virus only spread to 17 countries, whereas the coronavirus that began in December has already spread to 67 countries and territories as of early March 1. Just the night before, that number was 64. And some say the number of infections and deaths may be higher than what's being reported. Then there's this: CDC walks back coronavirus panic: 'US risk remains low' days after saying outbreak will happen & 'could be bad' In a news conference on Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control warned the public that the coronavirus outbreak on American soil is inevitable. "We are asking the American public to prepare for the expectation that this might be bad," said CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases Director Dr. Nancy Messonnier," as reported by the New York Times. "It's not so much of a question of if this will happen in this country anymore but a question of when this will happen." Then on Friday, just three days later, Messonnier suddenly downplayed the virus and asserted that the risk to the American public "remains low." Which report are we to believe? Coronavirus may be "Disease X,' World Health Organization expert warns The deadly coronavirus is looking a lot like the theoretical "Disease X" that officials have long warned could spark a dangerous pandemic, a World Health Organization expert said. Marion Koopmans, a member of WHO's emergency committee, said the virus is the first to meet the criteria of the so-called "Disease X" - defined as a quick-spreading and unpredictable illness caused by a previously unknown pathogen, Daily Express reported. Researchers Find 61.5% Of Coronavirus Patients with Severe Pneumonia Won't Survive According to a study published in the Lancet on Friday, February 21, patients who are especially vulnerable to severe COVID-19 infections - a group that includes the very old, very young and those with co-occurring conditions - die at a higher rate from COVID-19 than they did from SARS and MERS. The Coronavirus May Have Leaked from a Lab The People's Liberation Army's top expert in biological warfare, Maj. Gen. Chen Wei, was dispatched to Wuhan at the end of January to help with the effort to contain the outbreak. According to the PLA Daily, Chen has been researching coronaviruses since the SARS outbreak of 2003, as well as Ebola and anthrax. This would not be her first trip to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, either, since it is one of only two bio-weapons research labs in all of China. The novel coronavirus, now known as SARS-CoV-2, may have escaped from that very lab, and the deadly SARS virus has escaped - twice - from the Beijing lab where it was (and probably is) being used in experiments. Both "man-made" epidemics were quickly contained, but neither would have happened at all if proper safety precautions had been taken. As I said, the virus is now affecting 67 countries and territories. The vast majority of infections and deaths are in China with nearly 80,000 cases and close to 2,900 deaths. You can see figures in other countries at World meters. These are scary numbers, and they're rising hourly, but the Wuhan coronavirus is not considered a pandemic... yet. The flu is still killing more people. Thank God we have a degree of immunity in our country. So, is this virus man-made or God-ordained and imposed? It could be both. Is it part of the end-times signs prophesied in the Bible? The plagues in the book of Revelation will be worse. But the end-time signs given in the Bible have converged like never before, and appear to be a foretaste of what's coming during the last seven years before Christ's return for those who are left behind to face it. Jesus said, "When you see these things begin to happen, look up, for your redemption draweth nigh [your redemption is coming soon]." YBIC Jim Towers [email protected] , www.propheticsignsandwonders.com . and www.dropzonedelta.com The Undemocratic Alliance Bent On Toppling Netanyahu - By Alex Traiman/JNS.org - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=3890 In Israel's third election in less than one year, embattled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defeated his closest challenger by three Knesset seats (36-33), and his bloc of right-wing allies defeated the opposing left-wing bloc supporting challenger Benny Gantz by a stunning 18 seats (58-40). Yet, similar to the first two election contests, Netanyahu still remains precariously shy of a parliamentary majority. Coalition negotiations have yet to officially begin, and just three of the remaining 62 Knesset members from outside of Netanyahu's bloc could push Israel's tenured premier over the 61-seat majority threshold. By doing so, they would bring much-needed stability to a convoluted parliamentary political system whose efficacy is now being rightfully questioned. The parliamentarians who refuse to join the right-wing bloc are united by a singular goal: to dethrone Netanyahu. Yet these 62 opposing members of Parliament are incapable of forming their own governing coalition. In addition to their unwillingness to sit with Netanyahu, they have all repeatedly stated that they are ideologically opposed to sitting with one another. This opposition includes the Blue and White Party, a mini-coalition of center-right and center-left parties that came together to challenge Netanyahu, the seven-seat far-left Labor-Meretz alliance, the seven-seat secular right-wing Yisrael Beiteinu Party led by Avigdor Lieberman and a 15-seat Joint Arab List. Since the establishment of the modern State of Israel, no Arab party has ever joined any Israeli government right or left, and the Joint List has expressed no intention of joining a coalition led by either Netanyahu or Gantz. Furthermore, Lieberman has vowed not to sit in any government that includes the anti-Zionist Arab parties. Excluding the self-stated anti-Zionist Joint List, the opposition totals an underwhelming 47 mandates--well short of a 61-seat majority and a whopping 11 seats smaller than Netanyahu's bloc of 58 seats. By hook or by crook For years, Netanyahu's opponents have been trying to replace Israel's longest-serving prime minister by hook or by crook. And since they have failed to remove him at the polls, they now seek to create a parliamentary putsch to remove their political nemesis from office. Blue and White has announced its intention to advance a parliamentary bill, with the backing of the 62-member opposition, to prohibit a prime minister from serving while under indictment. Meanwhile, Israeli law explicitly permits a prime minister to remain in office while facing criminal charges under indictment. The law even permits a prime minister to continue in office if convicted, until all legal appeals are exhausted. In response, Netanyahu stated that Blue and White leader Benny Gantz is attempting to "steal the elections," and that advancing such a bill "undermines the foundations of democracy." The highly questionable cases against Netanyahu have been openly simmering for the past two years with numerous pieces of police evidence being illegally leaked for public consumption. Netanyahu has maintained his innocence in each of the cases. More than 2 million Israelis have voted again and again for Netanyahu and his allies, believing that the charges are either contrived or not serious enough to warrant removing the successful leader from office. Each vote has been a democratic referendum on Netanyahu's ability to serve under indictment. Just prior to the elections, Blue and White pasted large billboards across Israel likening Netanyahu to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, an Islamist dictator who has been incrementally rolling back democratic freedoms in Turkey. Yet it is Netanyahu who has consistently returned his mandate to govern to the people. And while the public has chosen to stand with Netanyahu even as he is about to face trial on March 17, it is an opposition concocted of disparate agendas that is prepared to ignore the will of the public and twist democratic norms for their own machinations of power. Meanwhile, the stakes have never been greater for the State of Israel. Iran is racing towards nuclear breakout and regional hegemony across Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. Gaza has increasingly stepped up rocket attacks on Israeli population centers. Syria continues to remain a state of disarray, while Egypt and Jordan's leaders struggle to maintain control in the face of growing extremism. In a released recording, adviser Israel Bachar, who was fired after the leak, reported that fellow Blue and White Party member and MK Omer Yankelevich "says he is stupid and a complete nobody and she says 'he can't be prime minister.' " Bachar also said Gantz "doesn't have the courage to attack Iran" and would be "a threat to the Israeli nation" as prime minister. Perhaps more important is the rollout of the Trump administration's "Peace to Prosperity" Mideast plan. In the coming weeks, following completion of a careful bilateral mapping process, Israel will be permitted to apply full sovereignty to every settlement and outpost in the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria, as well as the strategic Jordan Valley. Despite tepid approval of the U.S. plan by Gantz, the left-wing Labor-Meretz Party is staunchly opposed to Israel's application of sovereignty over any of the territories, as is the Arab Joint List. Furthermore, Gantz and his advisers have been repeatedly antagonistic to the Trump administration, some comparing the U.S. president to Adolf Hitler. Both Gantz and party No. 2 Yair Lapid have repeatedly attacked Netanyahu for his close relationship with the president, which they say has cost Israel bipartisan support in Congress. As such, Israelis cannot count on Gantz as prime minister to carry out the application of sovereignty over territories central to Israel's security and biblical narrative. And while Gantz has significant military experience, he has zero political experience, with the exception of losing three successive election campaigns that have been peppered with numerous rhetorical gaffes. These are the considerations that Israelis have weighed when going to the polls. And while the overwhelming majority of the Jewish candidates chose to keep the man who has arguably been the most successful prime minister in Israel's history at the helm, it is an undemocratic alliance that will use any tool at their disposal to send Netanyahu packing, even if the means they apply spit directly in the face of Israel's democratically elected outcome. Nearing Midnight: Denying Climate Change While Declaring Changing Weather - Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ It's a thing one might accurately say is a prophetic paradox. Some even might claim it's being two-faced, wishy-washy, or hypocritical. But, it is fact. To declare that the world is in the midst of climate change is a truism. But that change isn't out of ordinary for our planet. It is something that happens continually; the climate goes from one season to the next. The Bible edicts that there will be changes in the seasons until God remakes the heavens and earth one eternal day. The globalist, progressive purveyors of the "global warming" mantra, now altered to the mantra of "climate change," mean by their diatribes that mankind is wrecking the environment. Mankind alone, therefore, can fix "Mother Earth." Only humans, not some existential God, at best (who probably isn't there at any rate), can save the environment. Those who observe Bible prophecy, especially from the pre-Trib perspective, almost always come down on the side of the view that people are not destroying the planet's ecology-at least, not through physical activity. We can't destroy the earth, because we haven't got the power to do so. Like all of His creation, including human history, God ultimately has His almighty hand on it. He is in complete control, even though He granted us volition, the right to self will. Those who believe that humans are here by happenstance, such as in the theory of evolution or some other model, believe that we, following our random placement in the sphere of the living, are masters of our own destiny. Many among these religiously believe that through our technological development, using fossil fuels that contaminate and corrupt the geophysical elements, we're making life unsustainable. America is seen as the greatest culprit in all of this, even though China, India, and others put far greater amounts of pollutants into the atmosphere. America is held as chief culprit by the globalists elite, of course, because they want our nation's great wealth (or, I should say "perceived wealth" because of the national debt) to be brought into the internationalists' orbit so they can plunder it as they see fit. This is why, as we've looked at many times, there is such hatred for a nationalist like President Donald J. Trump. He believes American citizens should be in control of America's assets. Of course, this, too, is subject to violation by the corrupt government practices within the US. The Congress and entrenched, corrupt, bureaucratic entities siphon America's wealth unabated. All this said, the climate-change mantra continues and grows with a religious fervor that will be the feverish rallying cry around which Antichrist will one day build his regime, at least initially. So it would seem that we who look at things from the pre-Trib perspective deny climate change. Well, yes and no. We believe and report events that point to the wrap-up of the Church Age, the Age of Grace. We acknowledge that changing weather patterns are primary indicators that Jesus Christ will one day-we believe soon-step out on the clouds of glory and call all born-again believers to Himself in the Rapture! The growing weather disturbances and other strange phenomena within the natural world indicate the wrap-up of this phase of human history, setting the stage for all biblically prophetic fulfillment. However, we deny climate change taking place that is caused by our sins against nature-i.e., polluting the atmosphere, etc. Rather, we say it is our sin nature, our anti-God, spiritual transgression that is bringing on nature's rebellion against such comportment. Remember Jesus, when He came into Jerusalem riding the little donkey while the people shouted "Hosanna!" The Judaizers told Him to make them shut up. However, Jesus said that if they were to keep quiet, the very stones would cry out. Nature, itself, would shout that He had arrived as Israel's Messiah. Well, Jesus is about to arrive again, this time as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Mankind is for the most part denying Him. This anti-God rebellion is causing the very elements of creation to cry out in acknowledgment of His majesty and power. We who observe prophecy acknowledge that the proliferating weather and other strange geophysical phenomena, many stories about which you can read on any given day on Rapture Ready news, are indeed taking place. However, the earth will not be destroyed by man or any other entity. Earth will be judged by God's wrath because of mankind's rebellion. Our atmosphere and existence in general will be judged for Israel's sake and to bring about a remnant for a magnificently restored earth. The thing you and I should do with regard to observing these things is to make sure we know Jesus Christ for salvation and forewarn others after giving them God's salvation message. Then, we will one eternal day hear the Lord say, "Well done, good, faithful, servant. Welcome into the Kingdom, of which you are now joint heir." Anne Graham Lotz: Christians must rely on Holy Spirit's power amid 'moral and spiritual free fall' - By Leah MarieAnn Klett - https://www.christianpost.com/news/anne-graham-lotz-christians-must-rely-on-holy-spirits-power-amid-moral-and-spiritual-free-fall.html Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of the late Billy Graham, urged Christians to seek the power of the Holy Spirit to combat the "moral and spiritual free fall" taking place in the United States. Speaking at the Closing Gala Dinner at NRB's 2020 Christian Media Convention on Feb. 28, Lotz, president of AnGeL Ministries in Raleigh, North Carolina, highlighted the aspects of the Holy Spirit found in John 16:5-15. She stressed that the Holy Spirit is a "person," not an "it." "He's not a dove. He's not a flame of fire. He's not an ecstatic experience. The Holy Spirit is a divine, invisible person. He has a mind to think. He has a will to act. He has emotions to feel," she said, adding that the Holy Spirit is present in all believers. "When we come by faith to the cross, claim Jesus as our Savior and our Lord, open up our hearts and receive Him into ourselves, He comes into us in the person of the Holy Spirit. He will never leave us, and He will never forsake us. It's a permanent relationship. Praise God," she said. "Today, in our politically correct culture, as we're in this moral and spiritual free fall in our nation, it's going to take Holy Spirit courage, boldness, and strength to stand against that tide and hold the line for the Gospel and the Word of God," she added. In an age where truth is relative, Lotz reminded attendees that John 16:13 refers to the Holy Spirit as "the Spirit of truth." "So get out the Word, read it, take it in for yourself, and then get it out as much as you can. He works through the Word that He has breathed Himself. ... Read the Word with a heart that believes every word is from the Lord, and you listen for Him to whisper to you through the pages." The more Christians delve into Scripture, the more they will become like Christ, she added. "In Jesus, there's no meanness," she said. "There's no unkindness. There's no selfishness. There's no unforgiveness. There's no pridefulness. There's no bitterness. There's no sinfulness at all. And when the Holy Spirit comes into you and me, He begins to make us holy as He is holy." The Holy Spirit prays for us when we don't have words to pray (Romans 8:26), the evangelist said, adding: "The Holy Spirit takes my cries before the Father. He puts words to them, dresses them up, and turns them into prayers. He can take what I'm feeling and thinking - how I'm hurting on the inside - and translate it into a prayer before the Father." "The Holy Spirit's priority is the written Word of God," she concluded. "He draws us into the written Word that we might know the Living Word. His priority is Jesus, and He wants us to know Jesus, to love Jesus, to obey Jesus, to serve Jesus, to bring Him glory. So He draws us into the Word of God that we might know Him like that." Lotz, who finished treatment for breast cancer in October of last year, shares how the Holy Spirit comforted her throughout the painful process in her book, Jesus in Me: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion. As she traveled from appointment to appointment, Lotz said she felt the Holy Spirit give her a "sense of purpose." "Again and again, I was stopped by other patients or visitors who recognized me, people who said they were praying for me or who asked me to pray for them," she said. "I had multiple opportunities to share the Gospel and to pray with nurses, technicians, doctors, and many others who treated me. His whisper changed my attitude from that of being a cancer victim to being on a mission as His ambassador." After her sixth chemo treatment, the evangelist began questioning whether she should continue chemo: "The weakness and weariness were debilitating. The side effects were daunting," she explained. However, she felt the Holy Spirit confirm to her that she was to continue chemo. "My next and last treatment would be my seventh time! So as much as I resisted the 'muck and mud,' in obedience to God's leading, I committed to complete the seventh infusion," she said. Those two examples, the founder of AnGel Ministries said, are just a "few of the Spirit's whispers to my heart." "Would I have made the same decisions without what He had said? Would I have had the same perseverance, courage, comfort, and direction if I had not read my Bible, listening for His voice? I don't think so," she said. "Yes, I would have survived. But like many others, I would have been just guessing my way through life, afraid I would take a wrong turn and very probably doing so. Instead, the Spirit's whispers have enabled me to live with energetic confidence, making very few costly mistakes." Based on her experiences, Lotz encouraged others to "read your Bible. Every day. Study it. Learn to love it. Live by it." "Listen for the whisper of the Spirit, who speaks through the pages of the Word that He Himself has inspired and through the words on the pages, which are God-breathed," she concluded. Should Christians Be Anxious About the Coronavirus? - Todd Wagner - https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/christians-anxious-coronavirus/ With the increasing coronavirus cases outside of China, many believers across the United States wonder how to respond to the increasing alarm. What would God have us do in the face of a growing international health crisis? Should our churches close their doors for fear of spreading illness? Should I take my kids out of school? Cancel travel plans? How should we help a panicked world? Remember What We Know First, it's important to be reminded about what we already know. Worry is not our friend, and panic is not our way. Solomon reminds us, "If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small" (Prov. 24:10). May it never be said that God's people are governed more by fear than faith. Corrie ten Boom, along with other faithful from among the nations, led courageously in the face of the Nazi fascism-a different form of deadly virus. And she reminds us, "Worry doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrows, it empties today of its strength." In times of crisis, the world needs steady people who are strengthened by God's grace and selfless by God's power. Worry accomplishes nothing except weakness of heart and head. It's been said that 90 percent of the things we worry or become panicked about never happen, and the other 10 percent are outside our control. While we remain on alert against viruses of doctrine or disease, worrying won't change our circumstances or lower our chance of infection. It won't help us fight off illness or move us to action. Worrying about COVID-19 (or anything else) will only increase trouble. Rather than worrying and being anxious, Jesus calls us to respond with prayer and faith in him (Matt. 6:33-34; Phil. 4:6). We need not worry ultimately because we know the One who has defeated sin and death (1 Cor. 15:55-57). Remind yourself continually: it takes the same amount of energy to worry as to pray. One leads to peace, the other to panic. Choose wisely. Love Well and Trust Him If God calls us to worry about anything, it's how to love people well. The psalmist encourages us, "Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness" (Ps. 37:3). Peter reminds us to press on in the midst of every evil. Whether persecutions or pandemics, we can trust in the Lord, knowing, "It is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil" (1 Pet. 3:17). Worry is common to man. But God has called us to face troubles and threats with courage, leaning our weight on him. Throughout history, Christians have often stood out because they were willing to help the sick even during plagues, pandemics, and persecutions. They loved people and weren't afraid of death because they understood that "to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Phil. 1:21). By stepping into the mess of sickness and disease, they were able to demonstrate their faith to a watching world. So, rather than just asking "How do I stay healthy?" perhaps we should be also ask "How can I help the sick?" Let's be quick to help and slow to hide in basements. Prayer-infused confidence, compassion, and selflessness should mark how we talk about the coronavirus. Why? Because our Savior put on flesh (John 1:14) and stepped into our sickness, sin, and death. He healed the sick and cared for the hurting. We must do likewise. We Can Be Careful, Too None of this means we should be reckless. Neither Christ's love nor God's Word encourages careless risks, but both promote obedience. Loving the sick doesn't mean we intentionally infect ourselves (Prov. 22:3). If infection becomes a legitimate risk (at the moment, the Center for Disease Control says the virus isn't communally spreading in the United States, and the health risk is low), responding to the coronavirus likely means taking small practical steps like washing our hands and staying home if we're sick. Before you think of canceling church services, ask, "How can we care for those at risk?" As others get sick, care for them. Are most of you still healthy? That's a great reason to gather for thanksgiving and prayer. Seek appropriate medical care as symptoms arise and don't forsake caring for one another. Follow the example of those who've acted faithfully in the past. In 19th-century England, when thousands were dying of cholera, Charles Spurgeon visited homes to care for people. The church of Jesus in Wuhan China, the virus's epicenter, is faithfully leading even today. Finally, as you watch the world react to this crisis-itself a stark reminder of our mortality-don't neglect to share the hope you have in Jesus (1 Pet. 3:15). Share how he rescued you from the universal epidemic of sin and the penalty of death. Share that your hope is not found in remaining healthy this side of heaven. We'll all face death eventually. Thanks to Jesus, we can come to that day with confidence. Like Paul, we can remember that to live is Christ, but to die is gain (Phil. 1:21). We truly have nothing ultimate to fear-not from the coronavirus, the Ebola virus, natural disasters, or anything else. Press on, friends. Pray for the sick. Walk in God's strength. Love the brotherhood. Do good to all men. Use your health to serve, not to hide. Jesus is sovereign over it all. And we are immortal until God's work for us to do is finished. Daily Devotion: Keep the Fire Alive - by Greg Laurie - www.harvest.org Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. -Romans 12:10-11 God does not like lukewarmness. In fact, He hates it. Jesus said to the church of Laodicea, "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth" (Revelation 3:16 NKJV). The Lord would rather have us on fire or even cold than living in a miserable state of lukewarmness. There's no room for just doing the bare minimum. We want to give people hope for this life and the afterlife. King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, counseled, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going" (Ecclesiastes 9:10 NKJV). The apostle Paul wrote to the believers in Rome, "Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord" (Romans 12:10-11 NKJV). "Fervent in spirit" can be translated "on fire" or "boiling over." And how do you keep a fire alive? You put another log on it. You continue to feed the fire so it stays strong-and gets even stronger. In the same way, we keep the spiritual fire alive by feeding it. One way we do that is by hearing the Word of God. Following His resurrection, Jesus appeared to two discouraged disciples on the Emmaus Road. After they had a long conversation with Him, they said, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:32 NKJV). Would others describe you as being on fire for Jesus Christ? If you're on fire for Jesus, then you'll want to serve God in some way and do something for His glory. FROM THE HEART
