This week I received a thought-provoking email and sense I should explore its contents with you. We continue, of course, in the midst of this Covid-19 or coronavirus, or whatever you want to call it. That is literally all we can find in terms of news. If news providers or pundits move away from the topic at all, it is only for a brief moment. They are then right back to giving all the statistics and feared statistics. The pandemic's effect on both the health of the populations of the world and the economies of the world are news-fodder 24/7. For the prophecy student of the pre-Trib sort, many questions arise. Why was the economy moving upward as if it had JATO (forgive my old US Air Force term, for "Jet Assist Take Off")?Then, why did that booming economy descend so dramatically as to make many believe a catastrophic crash is surely coming? The depictions by even many of the prophecy prognosticators are so dire as to put forward that we are now into the Tribulation-the time of Daniel's seventieth week. And why should this not be the fear? The abject fear-mongering by mainstream news is at a near bloodcurdling level in some instances. Here is a brief excerpt from a writer who analyzes and points to things posited by two major newspapers that can be designed to do nothing less than engender trepidation. The New York Times claims that "the specter of death speeds across the globe, 'Appointment in Samara'-style, ever faster, culling the most vulnerable." Others are claiming Trump will cancel the election to rule as a Jim Jones. "Every viewer who trusts the words of Earhardt or Hannity or Regan could well become a walking, breathing, droplet-spewing threat to the public," opined the Washington Post. ("Wake Up! Your fears are being manipulated," by Peter Van Buren, AmericanConservative.com, Rapture Ready News, March 27, 2020) This writer has received a number of emails expressing fear that all of this means the Rapture of the Church has somehow now been pushed back. Since I have written on numerous occasions that Jesus said that it will be like the days of Noah and days of Lot when He next catastrophically Intervenes in the affairs of mankind, the plunging economy and pandemic conditions around the world must mean the Rapture cannot be imminent. Jesus prophesied that people will be buying, selling, building, planting, marrying, etc., when He next breaks in on this rebellious world. Just like in the days of Lot in Sodom, God's judgment will begin falling the very day the people of the Age of Grace are called by Christ into His Presence (Revelation 4: 1). Well, folks, guess what? People are still buying, selling, building, and marrying. The farmers will be planting this spring. While it is true that all of these things are on a frightening, downward trajectory, they are still taking place. This is not the time of Armageddon when none of these things will come close to being done as they are currently. The great Rapture event can literally happen at any moment. And it is my opinion that, despite the pandemic and the subsequent plunge of economy, the Rapture is more likely than ever to be at any moment. The Rapture is still imminent! My own view is that this economy will move back into the upward trajectory. But whether it does or not, we will still be buying, selling, and all of the other things mentioned by the Lord Jesus. His Words, like God, Himself, do not change. He is the same today, yesterday, and forever. So we get back to the purpose of the thinking we are doing based upon the email I received. It was a missive that was meant to salve some of the hurting from the abrasiveness of the fear-mongering we've all been subjected to. Like the Matthew 24:36-42 and Luke 17:26-30 passages about the days of Noah and days of Lot, the 2 Chronicles 7: 14 passage is declared by seminaries and their graduates' scholarly commentaries to be for the Jews only, and for the time of Tribulation only. These, the "experts"-many of which are my good friends-say we must accept that these portions of God's prophetic Word don't apply to the Church. Nor are they for the Church Age, the Age of Grace. I do not accept these interpretations. I believe these words of Christ in the Olivet Discourse are for the whole world, in every age, but particularly for the end of this present dispensation, in regard to the days of Noah and of Lot prophecy. The 2 Chronicles 7:14 directive from Heaven was indeed for the Jews, the emailer was pointing out. However, it is not exclusively to the Jews. The Heavenly Father gives the prescription for how to deal with problems of a sin-nature that bring God's correction and judgment on His people. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14) Murray Lorance, the emailer, wrote in part: While some still argue this is a message directed at only the wayward Jewish people of the Old Testament times, that same theme is introduced from the start of the Christian era in Acts 2. Verse 38 says, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 3 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself." I interject here: The words of this Scripture about being baptized for your sins, remember, is preached to the new believers in Christ before Paul's teachings of belief only in the death, burial, and resurrection for salvation (Romans 10:9-10). Murray continues: This heart of this initial message is carried consistently through the gospels and the epistles, as well as the final Revelation Word from Christ Himself. But, to completely appreciate the application of the Second Chronicles passage we have become familiar with, let's reconnect the prior verse to suddenly see its application to today's pandemic crisis. II Chronicles 7:13-14 "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, of if I send the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now, just to understand how earnest God is, back up to Chapter 6:28-31 for Solomon's prayer of request to God. "If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, if there is locust or grasshopper, if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities, whatever plague or whatever sickness there is, whatever prayer or supplication is made by any man or all of Your people Israel, each knowing his own affliction and his own pain, and spreading his hands toward this house, then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and render to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know for You alone know the hearts of the son of man that they may fear You, to walk in your ways as long as they live in the land which You have given to our fathers." This prayer brought the response of Chapter 7:12 "Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, I have heard your prayer..." So, will we repent to seek God's relief, or will just a remnant plead for mercy? Could it be He is stirring hearts everywhere to seek Him? Will you be the watchman on the wall to guide that one back to truth, repentance and His righteousness? [I was delighted when I saw Franklin Graham on an advert on Fox Channel-a one-minute plea, and leading the audience in the sinner's prayer! How bold! How badly needed in this secular culture.] "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest....! Be that faithful laborer! If you know the Lord Jesus, you are His person. We are His People. Let us pray the prayer of 2 Chronicles 7:14 as we look for the any-moment intervention of the Lord Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13). The bible talks about taxes, and when it does it is nearly always connected to end times events. Daniel 11 tells us that Antichrist will be a 'raiser of taxes', and it tells us that at the First Coming of Jesus Christ, there was a global tax in place. So it makes sense that one of the signs connected to His Second Coming, at the end of the time of Jacob's trouble, will be a global tax as well. The United Nations announced yesterday that in order to 'deal effectively' with the global coronavirus pandemic, a global tax of %10, a tithe, needs to be levied. Well, hello Caesar, welcome back! "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city." Luke 2:1-3 (KJB) The idea of a global tax is not new to NTEB readers, click the image below to read our previous article on an idea floated for a global tax back in November of 2019. Of course, a lion's share of the money, should it be raised, will go to funding 'sexual reproductive health services', a Liberal dog whistle for abortion on demand. But can you just imagine what the United Nations would do with $8.7 trillion dollars, or even with one trillion dollars? I can. "Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. Daniel 11:20,21 (KJV) Population control advocate Bill Gates and his eponymous foundation are listed on the UN Sustainable Development 'partnership platform' meaning he gives them untold millions of dollars to 'carry out the work'. What is some of the 'work' Bill Gates is passionate about? Event 201, ID2020, the Certified Mark, and vaccinations that come with a digital ID. Yep, that's what the United Nations will do with monies raised from a global tax, vaccinate and chip the whole world. United Nations wants 10% of entire planet's annual income in fund for coronavirus response FROM LIFE SITE NEWS: The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, has announced the creation of a fund for addressing the global coronavirus pandemic - and he is simultaneously asking nations to contribute the equivalent of at least 10 percent of the annual income of the entire planet to a massive "human-centered, innovative and coordinated stimulus package" that would be administered at the international level. Although Guterres doesn't state it explicitly, he seems to be connecting the new fund, which he calls a "dedicated COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund," with the massive stimulus package plan, announcing both measures in the same press release. If countries were to accept the plan, the United Nations or some similar coordinating agency would be given the equivalent of approximately 8.7 trillion USD, an unprecedented amount that would be 2,900 times greater than the UN's annual budget of 3 billion USD. The proposed plan would effectively place a global agency, presumably the UN itself, in charge of propping up the economies of the world during the coronavirus crisis, placing it in charge of 10% of global income. THE ORGANIZATION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN TALKS AT PARIS FORUM DISCUSSING A GLOBAL TAX SYSTEM POSSIBLE PROPHETIC HARBINGER Guterres also wants 100 billion USD for the World Health Organization, whose president has been blamed for helping to cause the coronavirus pandemic by repeating in January the Chinese government's false claim that COVID-19 is not transmissible to humans. He also wants the same organization to build an "interconnected Global Health Emergency System for data, workforce, and supplies." Guterres says that the money would be channeled "not only to the business sector and lead firms, but to the workers and SMEs worldwide that underpin the global economy." "It is not enough to protect major businesses: we need to protect their suppliers, and the global consumer demand - the household income - that will usher the global economy back to life," writes Guterres in his report, called "Shared responsibility, global solidarity: Responding to the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19. To be effective, the stimulus package will need to focus on direct and targeted transfer of resources to the most vulnerable households and scaling up health emergency preparedness, social protection, tax abatement, low interest rates, access to credit, insurance and wage support schemes," he writes. Among the objectives of the plan, Guterres includes "attention to continued delivery of sexual reproductive health services, such as access to contraceptives without prescription during the crisis." "Sexual reproductive health services" are a euphemism often used by international organizations to refer to abortion and contraception. United Nations and World Health Organization helped to create the pandemic, says expert Steven Mosher, president of the Population Research Institute, noted that the UN's World Health Organization (WHO) helped to create the pandemic by repeating communist Chinese government's false propaganda denying the health risks of COVID-19, and said he was against giving them or the UN in general any additional money for the crisis. "The UN bureaucracy primarily exists to perpetuate itself and various Left-wing causes that are inimical to liberty and sovereignty," Mosher told LifeSite. "If the China coronavirus teaches us anything, it is that in moments of global crisis we can only trust our fellow citizens not a distant and detached group of bureaucrats who are better compensated than nearly all Americans." He also noted that "reproductive sexual health," in reality "means forcing contraception, sterilization and abortion on peoples who have not asked for it," and added that such priorities have left poorer countries unprepared to deal with COVID-19. "If the clinics in Third World countries had been stocked with medicine instead of abortifacients and contraceptives, they would be better able to cope with the current pandemic," said Mosher. "In other words, population control programs cost lives." There will be NO second chance for those who choose Antichrist as their god. Those who have the mark (666) will be the only people who are allowed to buy and sell on the earth. Going Back to the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals in 2015: Here is an article I wrote back then which shows clearly that the U.N. implemented "Forced Migration." This was clearly stated in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of 2015. Many did not realize that the migration of Muslims into Europe and other parts of the world was part of what we are seeing today. Before I continue, here is the best article on the U.N. But right now seems like an especially good time to put power into perspective. Ultimately, we do not depend on a rugged physique, government programs, or human systems of power. We depend on the Lord God Almighty - the omnipotent One. Our situation can be illustrated by an episode of the classic TV comedy, "The Dick Van Dyke Show." Van Dyke played a television writer named Rob Petrie. He had just repaired, or tried to repair, a toaster. He put in bread to test his work. Watching the toaster with self-satisfaction, he tried to give his wife Laura the big picture of what was happening. "Just think," he said, "at this very moment, the mighty Niagara, harnessed to giant generators, its energy racing along 400 miles of copper wire, just to heat our toaster. All we have to do is wait." Laura asked, "Don't we have to plug it in?" A bit crestfallen, Rob walked over and plugged it in. He said, "You'd think with that 400-mile running start it could jump the last two feet by itself." The power he described was there - two feet from the toaster - waiting to be tapped. And that can be us. Power flows within reach, but we sometimes fail to connect. Ephesians 6:10 tells every follower of Christ, "Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might." It is impossible for the human mind to fully comprehend the power we're talking about when we say, "the strength of His might." Remember, He is omnipotent, meaning "all-powerful." In Numbers 11:23, God asked Moses, "Is the Lord's power limited? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not." Because His power has no limit, His every word must come true. It was with His words that He created all the cosmos. Psalm 33:6 says, "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made." Someone might point to Hebrews 6:18 - "It is impossible for God to lie" - and say there are some limits on His power. But the fact that God is always Himself, and never acts outside of His character or purpose does not represent a limit on His power. It is an expression of it! His power flowing in us also works in accordance with His character. He does not grant us supernatural power to fulfill "the lust of the flesh," "the lust of the eyes," or the "pride of life" (1 John 2:16). Rather, he empowers us to do His will. And that's the amazing thing. When we do His will, He makes His power available to us. We just need to plug in. The next two verses, Ephesians 6:11-12, say, "Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The verses that follow tell about the armor God provides for us. I won't go into those specifics here, but I invite you to read about them in Ephesians 6:13-18. We stand in the midst of a spiritual battle. And to triumph as He wants us to triumph, we need more than a positive attitude or a stiff upper lip. We must, "Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might." The Greek word here translated power is "kratei." It literally means "power that overcomes resistance." You will face resistance. We all do. But God grants us the power to overcome resistance. With gladness, He invites you to plug in to that unending, unlimited resource. Colossians 1:11 tells us we can be "strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience." Stay close to Him in these difficult days. Trust Him. And in all this, "walk in His glorious might." Daily Jot: The Farm Chronicles: Of freezing and firewater - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com It was a cold Ohio winter late afternoon with the wind whistling through the woods bringing with it below zero gusts that would take your breath away. We would joke that it was so cold that the words coming out of our mouths would freeze, fall to the ground and break into pieces. Dad decided to put the livestock in early that day. Even so the clouds in the sky and the cold in the air made it seem a lot later than it was. This was a winter in the tip of Ohio's snow belt in about 1969. Even though it was cold in the barn, it was a lot warmer than outside. With the cows in and the horses filing into their respective stalls, the barn was warming up. The munching on the grain and hay was like music accompanying the wind outside. But there was a pair missing. A mare and her foal, which was nearing a year old. Their stalls were empty and all the other horses were in the barn. By now, it's starting to get dark out, and that wind and cold were not letting up a bit. Dad and I went out the door and started trudging through the snow to look for them. We saw the mare standing at the far side of the deep end of the pond. Looking a little closer, there was a horse's head bobbing up and down in the pond. The pond had frozen over and apparently the young filly had wandered out on the ice, thinking she could walk across it as a short cut to the barn. She had fallen through the ice. The mother was whinnying and trying to call her back, but she couldn't turn around in the frozen ice. Dad had me run back to the barn to get a rope. While she was struggling in the ice cold water, Dad through the rope around her neck and tried to pull her toward the shallow end, hoping she would chop the ice with her feet. But she didn't. Her systems were shutting down. She didn't have much fight left in her. I got the idea that since I was lighter, I could go out to her and try to get her moving. So I walked out on the ice. With the sound of that awful noise of ice parting with itself, giving in to the water below, I broke through and was over waist deep in the freezing water. I grabbed the rope and chopped the ice as I led her out of the pond. Dad quickly took the rope and trotted her through the snow to the barn, leaving me behind to navigate about two feet of snow and a 100 yards in the freezing wind, soaking wet. The soaking wet part turned to ice pretty quickly, with my jeans freezing stiff as I hobbled through the snow back to the barn. Dad had me go in and change and bring back the bottle of Jack Daniels we kept in the kitchen cupboard for "medicinal" purposes. We kept forcing the whisky into the filly and walking her-a horse's circulation comes from the movement of their feet. She was warmed up with the whisky and blankets, and we walked her for hours. She survived and went on to be a champion when she grew up. As is written in James 3:3, "Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body." And sometimes it takes a boy falling in the ice and a little firewater, too. With around-the-clock news coverage of the coronavirus, our fears only seem to get affirmed. After all, we don't know what is coming next. But in Psalm 91, we find this promise for believers: "Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you" (Psalm 91:7 NLT). Know that God is in control of our very lives. Isn't that great to know? It isn't over until it's over. Until that time, we can live with boldness. I read the story of a courageous Christian who was standing before a king who wanted him to deny Christ. The king threatened, "If you don't do it, I will banish you." The Christian replied, "You can't banish me from Christ. He says He will never leave me nor forsake me." The king said, "I will confiscate your property and take it all from you." The Christian said, "My treasures are laid up on high; you cannot get them." "I will kill you," the king told him. "I have been dead forty years," the Christian answered. "I have been dead with Christ; dead to the world. My life is hid with Christ in God, and you cannot touch it." The king said, "What can you do with such a fanatic?" May God give us more Christians who know something of God's protection like this believer did. However, there is a difference between trusting the Lord and testing the Lord. Don't take unnecessary risks and expect Him to bail you out. Yes, He will keep us in all of our ways-but our ways should be His ways.
