But One Mark of The Beast - By Joe Southerland -
https://www.raptureready.com/2020/04/16/but-one-mark-of-the-beast-by-joe-southerland/ "...and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands..." (Revelation 20:4). There exists a great deal of speculation churning amidst the watchers concerning the technology that is now mature enough to rapidly implement the mark of the Beast. We must remember, however, there is but one mark of the Beast. As a watcher and pre-tribulation rapture Believer, I am watching for the signs of Christ's return as we draw ever closer to the blessed event of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture.* While I do watch the signs of the times intently, one thing I am not personally concerned about is the mark of the Beast arising before the pre-tribulation rapture. Why? Because the scriptures clearly show that: Taking the mark of the Beast will be a spiritually "black and white" decision. No one will accidentally take the Beast mark. No one will be tricked into taking the Beast's mark. As always, God will not deny Mankind free will to choose, for as Abraham rhetorically asked in Genesis 18:25, "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" And He will. For if Jesus shall not judge justly, Mankind has no hope. The mark of the Beast is specifically relegated to a known period of time within the Seven-Year Tribulation. There is no time outside this period in which the scriptures indicate this Beast mark Could there be trial runs and foreshadowing? Of course. However, these do not THE mark of the Beast make. Stick to the Scriptures As the Church Age draws to its dramatic close and the mysterious mark of the Beast looms closer on the horizon, we must educate ourselves in knowing what the scriptures specifically say concerning the mark of the Beast. We need to take our role as modern Bereans to heart, educate ourselves concerning the scriptures, and then stick to the scriptures. A caution: it is far too easy to take a little of God's scriptures and pepper them with current events and then create extra-biblical speculation laced with the Word of God. So, let's turn to the scriptures and see what they say concerning the Beast's mark. Enter the Beast If you are new to the Bible End-Times study, the Beast is but one of many names given to a Satanically-empowered global dictator. He shall rise from the darkness and come to power during a tumultuous seven-year period of time which comes to an end as Jesus Christ returns to take full dominion over the earth. The Beast is also known as the Antichrist, the Son of Perdition, the Little Horn, the Wicked, and many other names. Isaiah 14:13; Ezekiel 28:2,6,9; Daniel 7:25, 11:36; 1st Corinthians 8:5; Revelation 13:6; 2nd Thessalonians 2:3, 2:8. When does the Beast come to full power? Like his father, Satan, who attempted to usurp the throne of heaven in Isaiah 14:13, the Beast will proclaim himself God in the yet-to-be-built Third Temple in Jerusalem. "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God" (2nd Thessalonians 2:4, KJV). From Daniel 9:27, which Jesus references in Matthew 24:15, we know that this occurs in the midst of the Seven-Year Tribulation. Where We Find the Beast's Mark in the Scriptures The Beast's mark is only found in the Bible's Book of Revelation. It is found seven times, in five locations, and we will examine all these instances. It is first mentioned in Revelation Chapter 13, once the Beast has taken both supreme rulership and godship over the world's government, economic and religious systems. Revelation 13:15-17 is referencing the False Prophet (the Beast's evil religious leader) "...and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Notice here the Beast mark is tied directly to the choice of worshipping the Beast or not worshipping the Beast; a very personal, and eternal spiritual decision. The next location we find the Beast mark is from an angel sent by God to warn Mankind about taking the Beast mark. Revelation14:9-10a "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God." Notice God provides no doubt that the Beast mark is tied to Beast worship. Next, we find that not taking the Beast mark brings honor, praise and reward from God. Revelation 15:2 "And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God." The "them" here are those in Revelation 13:15 who DID NOT worship the Beast nor take his mark. They are now in heaven for they have won a spiritual victory over the Beast, though it cost them their physical life on earth to do so. Up next we find, yet again, the Beast mark is related to judgment. Revelation 16:2 "And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image." Notice again, the mark is tied to worshipping the beast. Finally, we find the Beast mark related to honor, praise and reward. Revelation 20:4 "...and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands;..." These souls, like those in Revelation 13:15, HAD NOT worshipped the Beast nor taken his mark. They too had won a spiritual victory over the Beast, though it cost them their physical life on earth to do so. Thus, concludes the Holy Spirit-provided scriptural references concerning the Beast's mark. That is it. There is no more scripture. What We Can Conclude from the Scripture The Mark of the Beast will only be valid in the time of the Beast's reign of power and carnage; during a very specific period within the Seven-Year Tribulation. There is absolutely no time recorded in the scripture, external to this period, that the Beast mark will be used by God to judge people's salvation. The Beast will demand a quid pro quo for his mark: his worship. As we saw in every instance, the Beast's mark is directly related to worship. God even goes to the point of specifically sending Mankind an angel from heaven to warn them of the eternal spiritual consequence of taking the Beast's mark. According to the scriptures, it is clear that the Beast Mark is an outward physical indicator of a person's internal spiritual state. Each person alive during this time will be forced to make a free-will decision to either be in league with the Beast or with God. They must choose to WORSHIP THE BEAST in order to take the MARK OF THE BEAST. If they take the Beast mark, it will be a deliberate and conscious, eternally impactful, and an irrevocable decision. In this day, Satan may indeed be softening up Mankind to the idea of taking chips and marks into their bodies in preparation for the Beast's mark. However, there is only one timeframe in which Beast worship and receiving the Beast mark is a quid pro quo demand. There is but one mark of the Beast. While we can watch for the technological advances, which allow the implementation of the Beast mark, we must remember and be responsible with God's scripture. Then we can inform others that the Beast mark is only valid for judgment within the Beast's final reign of terror during the Seven-Year Tribulation. That said, I personally will never tattoo my body, nor take a chip into my body...though it is not a salvation issue. Why? Jesus to the Church of Philadelphia, Revelation 3:12: "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name." I want to make sure whatever space Jesus wants to write on is not already taken by another mark. Time is short! The harvest fields are ripe! Shine forth with the light of Christ. Come, Lord Jesus, come! Prepare to read some shocking quotes. But first, let me set the stage. The events surrounding the coronavirus have demonstrated how quickly the status quo can be overturned, how dramatically the fortunes of nations can shift, and how a call for one-world cooperation can arise. And what if there was a worldwide economic collapse, accompanied by plague and famine? Is it too farfetched to imagine that a powerful, problem solving leader could gain an international following? I do not believe we are at that point. But I do believe that, in front of our eyes, we're seeing how quickly the table can be set, even from an entirely secular point of view. All the more does this become feasible when we add in religious beliefs. Jesus famously warned His disciples, saying "Be careful that no one leads you astray! For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Messiah,' and will lead many astray." (Matthew 24:4-5 TLV) He also warned that, "Many false prophets will arise and lead many astray." (Matthew 24:11, TLV) So, from a Christian perspective, before the true Messiah (= Christ) will return in the clouds of heaven, there will be counterfeit Messiahs (= antichrists) who will deceive many. And this leads us to the promised, shocking quotes. In the Islamic world, the belief in the Mahdi, the hidden Imam waiting to be revealed, could easily prepare the way for a counterfeit Messianic figure. Muslims believe that Jesus is the Messiah (although, quite plainly, they do not believe in the Jesus of the Bible). So, technically speaking, the Mahdi is not the Messiah. On the other hand, since he functions in Islamic lore as the end-time redeemer, he could be the perfect counterfeit Christ type of figure. And here's where it gets very interesting: there are Muslim leaders today who claim to have met the Mahdi numerous times. Writing in the Jerusalem Post on January 20, Brian Schrauger explained that the Mahdi "is Islam's messiah, the 12th of 12 Imams who are successors to Mohammed. Said to have been born in 879 CE, the Imam Mahdi is believed by Shi'a Muslims to still be alive, but hidden from mankind in 'occultation' until a time of such upheaval on the earth that only his reappearance will rescue mankind and, in fact, usher in an age of global peace; Islamic peace, that is; a kind of peace in which all mankind is living in submission to the Allah of the Koran." He continues, "Crazy to Western ears, this messianic creed is the raison d'être for the Islamic Republic of Iran according to its founders and leaders. It is also the basis of Tehran's foreign and military policies; and it is impossible to overemphasize the Iran regime's visceral commitment to it. The Imam Mahdi is invoked in every public gathering, both civil and military; he is the singular inspiration for every policy, every tactic, every mission; indeed, he is nothing less than the regime's reason for its existence and, as such, its singular and unwavering motivation for the future." And Schrauger can provide documentation for every single claim he has made. In the words of Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Khamanei, "The Iranian nation, enjoys a great privilege today: the atmosphere of the country is an atmosphere of Imam Mahdi. . . ." And, Khamanei states, "many of our great scholars have personally met with this beloved [Imam] of hearts of the admirers during his occultation; many have made a pledge to him in person; many have heard from him some heartwarming words; many have been caressed by him and many others have received his kindness, care, and love." The Islamic Mahdi is here, he is known to many insiders, and he is about to be revealed. And remember: this article was written before Iran was smitten with COVID-19. What are the leaders thinking today? But there's more. A February 20 headline in Israel Today stated that, "Israeli Rabbi Says He's Already Holding Meetings With Messiah." And, "Israel's biggest rabbis are all afraid to leave the country lest they miss Messiah's coming." The article, by Ryan Jones, cited a three-hour radio interview in which Rabbi Yaakov Zisholtz "told religious broadcaster Radio 2000 that Khamanei recently told him that he (Kanievsky) is already in direct contact with the Messiah." Rabbi Kanievsky, now in his early 90s, is considered to be the leading authority in the ultra-Orthodox (haredi) community in Israel, and he has often spoken of the nearness of the Messiah's coming. But it seems he is saying even more today. According to Rabbi Zisholtz, "...the process of redemption is about to start happening very quickly and at a fast pace. It is important that people remain calm and steady to act properly in the right time. "There is a potential Messiah in every generation and there are righteous men who know precisely who it is. This is, of course, true in this generation. "Getting the word out now that the Messiah is closer than ever is a matter of life and death. Haven't you heard of Gog and Magog? That is what is going to happen very soon. Right now, the situation is explosive more than you can possibly imagine. Everyone needs to know whether they are on the inside or if they are going to be left out." Yes, these are the words of an ultra-Orthodox rabbi in Israel, not those of an evangelical Christian, Bible in hand, with end-time prophecies heavily underlined. While Rabbi Zisholtz was careful to say he couldn't promise anything, he was certainly raising the bar with specific predictions and events. And again, he claimed that certain religious Jews knew exactly who the Messiah was and have even met with him. Adding to all this was the statement of Israel's Health Minister, Yaakov Litzman, himself ultra-Orthodox, as reported in HaAretz on March 26 and with reference to COVID-19: "We are praying and hoping that the Messiah will arrive before Passover, the time of our redemption. I am sure that the Messiah will come and bring us out as God brought us out of Egypt. Soon we will go out in freedom and the Messiah will come and redeem us from all the troubles of the world." The Messiah would be the cure to the coronavirus, and he would come (meaning, be publicly revealed, since in Jewish thought, he could already be here) by Passover. Well, Passover ended on April 16. And, in case you missed the news, the expected Jewish Messiah did not come. Ironically, Litzman himself contracted the virus, although he has since recovered. And for a number of reasons, including heavy criticism of his handling of the crisis, he is reportedly considering quitting. But all this talk about the Mahdi being here, ready to be revealed, along with the traditional Jewish Messiah being here, ready to be revealed, underscores the point I have been making. It would not take much for a counterfeit Messianic figure to arise and deceive many. And so, while I believe the table has not yet been set for this grand finale, it could clearly be set on very short notice. Let us, then, keep our focus on the Second Coming of the true Christ (= Messiah). But let us not forget the warnings about that false Messiah (= antichrist) who will come first. Nearing Midnight: The Environment Is Set on the Mark of the Beast - Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ The Coronavirus pandemic has caused many students of prophecy to wonder if world governments' efforts to combat the virus will involve the implementation of the Mark of the Beast. If they're going to make all the citizens of earth line up to get a vaccine, it would be convenient timing to also dispense a microchip implant that will link them up to the 666 financial system. Microsoft co-founder and billionaire "philanthropist" Bill Gates has legally separated himself from his old company, but both entities are engaged in a mission that could work together. Gates is champing at the bit to implement his long-awaited mandatory vaccination agenda. And what better catalyst for making it happen than the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis? Microsoft has created a device that could add a tracking code to a mass vaccination. It interacts with the pulse, temperature and brain waves of the human body in order to engage in the buying and selling of cryptocurrency. The ID2020 implant would interact with a computer network system. Oddly enough the publication number of this Microsoft patent is #W02020060606. WO? Could that stand for World Order? WO/2020/06/06/06. News about Gates and a potential vaccine for the novel coronavirus has been circulating for weeks on social media platforms. Gates got the ball rolling in mid March as he participated in a Reddit "AMA" ("Ask me anything") Q&A, where he encouraged a "national tracking system" for the coronavirus and "some digital certificates to show who has recovered or been tested recently or, when we have a vaccine, who has received it." Scientific American reported in December that Gates had been funding efforts to create an invisible ink that could go into people's skin to see who has been vaccinated. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology bioengineer said the ink could provide data that is useful in fighting disease around the world, noting, "If we don't have good data, it's really difficult to eradicate disease." A review by Media Matters stated that the conspiracy theory first seemed to gain traction around March 17 when a YouTube video about the virus "mischaracterized" Gates' work to develop trackable vaccine data as "implanting everybody with a global ID," and compared it to tattoos on Holocaust victims. Newsmax White House correspondent Emerald Robinson recently claimed that Gates wants to use "vaccines to track people," while Fox News host Laura Ingraham-who has met with Trump to discuss the coronavirus-tweeted that Gates and other "globalists" want to use the crisis to track people. Gates' name appeared on protest signs meant to criticize Ohio's social distancing order, while former Trump adviser Roger Stone accused Gates of wanting to "microchip" people. Pro-Trump personalities and regular Trump White House guests "Diamond and Silk" have also pushed conspiracy theories about Gates, tweeting that the Microsoft founder was operating on a secretive "agenda" to "rule the world with vaccines," and vowing not to take any coronavirus vaccine that Gates was involved with. None of these reports about Gates will ever be reported positively by the liberal media, so few people know about his agenda. Since you would have to have an understanding of Bible prophecy to know the dangers of a vaccine that could be tracked, most people would think of it as a good idea. Much of our modern technology could become very hazardous to our liberties if it was used by a despotic government. Apple and Google are working together on a Coronavirus Tracking App. Smart phones already 'automatically exchange their identifier beacons with each other. If someone tests positive for the Coronavirus, the app can send a message to all smartphones that came in contact with that person. Apple and Google say the app is 'voluntary' in the beginning; it will not be voluntary after they build it into the operating system software. The mark of the beast is no longer something of the future. I think China's social credit system is a working model of the Number of the Beast. By the time the Antichrist comes along to make it official, the world openly embraces its financial enslavement. "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six" (Revelation 13:16-18). Could the End-Times Rapture Mean the Fall of America? - Mark Hitchcock - https://www.charismanews.com/opinion/80941-could-the-end-times-rapture-mean-the-fall-of-america The United States, while still prospering financially and wielding great military might, seems to be in trouble on numerous fronts. The status of the world's greatest superpower is not as firm as it has been in the past. Current events are magnifying cracks in the foundation. From the prophetic perspective, this raises important questions- questions about what role, if any, America plays in the end-time picture set forth in the Bible. When considering the showdown with Iran, and all its prophetic implications for Israel, the world and the Middle East, it's fitting to briefly assess America's future. The place of America in Bible prophecy is probably the most asked question about the end times. America is never explicitly mentioned in the pages of Scripture. The Bible never uses the word "America," nor does it say, "the United States." However, through the years, prophecy teachers have isolated several Scriptures they believe could be symbolic references to America. Some of the more notable ones are: -Isaiah 18: the unnamed nation. -Ezekiel 38:13: the "young lions" or "merchants of Tarshish." -Revelation 17-18: Babylon the Great Having examined each of these views in detail, I don't believe any of them directly refer to America. I don't believe America is mentioned directly or indirectly in Scripture. America's absence from the end-time picture raises the "why" question. Why is America missing in action in end-time prophecy? One obvious possibility is that America is simply not mentioned, just like most other nations. End-time prophecy shines the spotlight primarily on Israel and the Middle East, so America may just be omitted for that reason. While that's certainly possible, end-time prophecies do include Russia, Turkey and the kings of the East, all of which lie outside the Middle East, so including America would not necessarily be a stretch. So what are we to make, if anything, of the scriptural silence concerning America in the end times? While there is certainly room for disagreement on this point, I believe the lack of any mention of America in the end times is a clue that something must happen to America to lower the nation from superpower status before the end times begin. After all, it would be strange to omit any reference to the world's greatest superpower in end-time events if America is still the greatest nation on earth. Assuming it's true that America's absence from end-time prophecy is an indication that America is no longer the world's dominant power, what will happen to significantly decrease America's influence? While a multitude of scenarios are possible alone or in a deadly combination, taking all the facts into account, my view is that the final fall of America will occur as a result of the rapture of all believers to heaven. The Bible predicts that a day is coming when the bride of Jesus Christ will be suddenly whisked away to heaven in the time it takes to blink. All over the earth, believers will suddenly disappear. When the rapture occurs, every believer in America and all over the earth will be immediately transported to heaven, leaving those who are left behind to pick up the pieces of a shriveled workforce and shattered economy, not to mention the psychological trauma and fear that will prevail. While there are believers in every nation, about 5-10% of Americans profess faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation from sin. The sudden removal of 20-30 million people from the United States would be apocalyptic (literally). While no one on earth knows for sure what will happen to the United States in the end times, the lack of any biblical mention of America as a key player does not bode well for continued American greatness and dominance. Knowing this should not cause us to give up and do nothing-to throw up our hands in despair. We need to continue to do three main things. First, fervently pray for our nation and its leaders every day (1 Tim. 2:1-2). Second, we must strive to live godly, righteous lives as salt and light in an increasingly decaying and darkening world. Proverbs 14:34 reminds us that "righteousness exalts a nation." Third, America needs to maintain support for Israel, so she can experience the promise to those who bless Israel (Gen. 12:1-3). President Trump has honored the Jewish people by recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Israeli territory and declaring that Israeli settlements in the West Bank do not violate international law. In spite of the United States' shortcomings, I believe God's hand of blessing remains upon this land, at least to some degree, for our support of Israel. We do all these things as we await the coming of Jesus. No one knows when He will come. We need to be ready all the time and do what we can while we can in His service. Daily Jot: The left: Take disinfectant and drop dead - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com As America begins to reopen in May, citizens should consider what this means. In reality, it means a new normal. We all need to exercise great care. On one hand, we need to take precautions that we are safe. On the other hand, we need to get this nation back to work and our economy on the road to recovery. Two things must recover-the physical health of our citizens and the economic health of our businesses. We have had a couple of months to figure out how to be responsible by keeping distance, wearing face covering, washing hands, using common sense. Don't be a renegade. Do the right thing. But there is one more healing that must take place, and I have little hope that it will. The political left needs to heal their hate. It's a visceral hate for President Trump and all those who support him or would vote for him. To the political left-which includes the Democratic Party, most of Hollywood, and most of the news media-anyone who doesn't believe like them is an enemy of the state-To the point that they will sacrifice lives to see their opposition fail. There is no better example of this than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) holding up for over a week badly needed, life-saving funding for COVID-19 relief to advance her socialist agenda with funding for pet projects unrelated to the spread of the virus. She and presidential candidate Joe Biden opposed Trump's early ban on travel from China. These people have hammered Trump, Christians, conservatives every day this year. If it wasn't impeachment allegations, it was attacks about COVID-19. And now it will be attacks on the economy, unemployment, more investigations, and sob stories about what has happened. But they will not offer any solutions. They will not offer to come along side and work together as Americans and solve this crisis and the pending challenges that will result from it. Their hate is too great. They wish to attack. They wish to criticize. They wish to obstruct. They wish to accuse others to hide their own actions of doing exactly what they accuse. They are vessels of hate, of self-righteousness anchored in political intolerance and ideological bigotry. Every day there is a new quote illustrating their hate. Celebrity Howard Stern wins this week's award for hate-mongering. On his Monday Sirius XM show he went on a rant against Trump and ALL his supporters. Stern said, "I would love it if Donald would get on TV and take an injection of Clorox and let's see if his theory works...Or hold a big rally...with all of his followers, and let them hug each other and kiss each other and have a big, big rally." Then Co-host Robin Quivers said, "A big cocktail of disinfectant." And Stern replied, "Yeah, and all take disinfectant and all drop dead." There have been similar comments from many on the left. This hatred is a huge festering sore in the soul of this nation. In Christ's prophetic chronology of the end times in Matthew 24:12, he said, "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." We can see how this prophecy can unfold. Sadly. Daily Devotion: Why We Should Study Romans - by Greg Laurie - www.harvest.org For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. -Romans 1:16 The study of the Book of Romans has transformed the lives of very significant people in church history, including Augustine, Martin Luther, John Wesley, and even a pastor named Chuck Smith. Swiss theologian Frédéric Louis Godet wrote of Romans, "The probability is that every great spiritual revival in the Church will be connected as cause and effect with a deeper understanding of this book." In all of the Bible, Romans is the most basic, comprehensive statement of what the gospel is. It's in Romans that we read, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (3:23 NKJV). If Romans does nothing else, it once and for all refutes the idea that we're not good enough to get to Heaven, regardless of how many good works we've done. In Romans, the apostle Paul systematically addresses every person and every type of argument as to why God would accept someone on their own merit. He deals with pagan people. He deals with moral people. And he deals with religious people. The conclusion is that everyone has to come to God through Jesus. Everyone has to acknowledge their sin. And Romans offers a solution to the sin. In chapter 5 we read, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (verse 8 NKJV). And verse 23 of chapter 6 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (NKJV). Then Romans 10:13 tells us, "For 'whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved'" (NKJV). It's very important we understand and appreciate all that God has done for us. If we really get this, it will cause us to want to serve Him and discover His plan for our lives. FROM THE HEART
