https://www.raptureready.com/2019/05/22/eve-destruction-alice-childs/ Unless one has one's head stuck in a hole the depth of the Grand Canyon, it's as plain as daylight in July at high noon that conditions are rapidly reaching a boiling point in the Middle East. When once reached, prophetic events will spill over into the coming Tribulation. The world right now is on the cusp of the fulfillment of Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38-39. The Biblical support for both of these conflicts (Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38-39) occurring PRIOR TO the beginning of the Tribulation are these: (1) The stranglehold of radical Islam must be broken BEFORE the Tribulation begins so that Israel can be able to rebuild her Temple on the Temple Mount where currently the Al Aqsa mosque now stands. This does NOT mean that Islam itself will be destroyed, but that the stronghold of radical Islamism in the area of the Middle East, at least, must be curtailed in that region. (2) The event that BEGINS the 7-year countdown is the "confirmation" of a covenant made between Israel and the man who will be the Antichrist. This man CANNOT come onto the scene until the Church is taken out and conditions in Israel and the surrounding area are stable so that the Muslim threat from all factions in that area is greatly curtailed. That can only happen AFTER the Isaiah 17 (complete destruction of Damascus) and the Ezekiel 38-39 conflict is over. The aftermath of these two events will create a power vacuum in the Middle East - in fact in the entire world. With the Islamic threat greatly curtailed, and with Russia being resoundingly defeated and the USA completely missing in action, that power vacuum will be filled with a new leader - the Antichrist whom the Bible calls "the Man of Sin." According to the Ezekiel prophecy, NO NATION will come to Israel's aid; this includes the United States. Exactly what will prevent America from being able or willing to come to Israel's defense, we do not know but can only speculate. However, it's this writer's OPINION that the rapture itself and the subsequent aftermath of it will likely cause the complete collapse of the United States almost immediately - but that is opinion only. Something else may occur to remove the United States from global power and prominence. Only God knows. When the Ezekiel invasion occurs, it will be God Himself alone who will destroy, not only the stranglehold of Islam in the Middle East, but also utterly annihilate Russia and greatly destroy all of the Ezekiel coalition forces who will be part of this invasion: Russia, Iran (Persia), Turkey, Libya, Sudan, et al. This destruction, along with the complete absence and inability of the US to ever again be a power player on the global stage, will leave a HUGE, worldwide power vacuum into which the Antichrist will step and begin his rise to global power. In the beginning, the Antichrist, with the backing of the 10 kingdoms of a revived Roman Empire, will have the requisite strength to ensure a false "peace" in the Middle East. The Antichrist, backed by these 10 "kingdoms" who are likely conglomerate parts of the old Roman Empire from both the Eastern and Western "legs," will have the power to make and enforce this covenant (Daniel 7:24; Revelation 17:12). The Antichrist will begin his meteoric rise to power by guaranteeing Israel peace for a 7-year period of time (Daniel 9:27), also making it possible for Israel to rebuild her temple, thus allowing the religious sacrifices and oblations to resume in the rebuilt Temple according to Judaic law. These things MUST be accomplished BEFORE the Tribulation begins, because it is the confirmation of the covenant between the Antichrist and Israel that ALLOWS FOR and GUARANTEES the construction and protection of the Temple. (3) The entire Tribulation only lasts for 7 years; and at the midpoint (31/2 years in), the Antichrist, now the undisputed global leader, breaks his covenant with Israel and defiles the Temple. Therefore, the Temple MUST be built and in operation for the entire 7 years. This means that the destruction of Damascus and the defeat of the Ezekiel invaders must occur BEFORE the Tribulation begins, because it is the aftermath of the defeat of the Ezekiel invaders that sets up the power vacuum that will enable the Antichrist to appear and "confirm the covenant with many" (Daniel 9: 27). When the entirety of scripture is put together, both dispensationally and chronologically from scripture - that is taking ALL of the prophetic scripture and putting the pieces into their proper chronology from BOTH Testaments - it becomes clear that the rapture of the Church and the preparatory events of Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38-39 must happen PRIOR TO the beginning of the Tribulation, NOT after the Tribulation begins. The Tribulation (Daniel's 70th week aka The Time of Jacob's Trouble) itself CANNOT begin until the covenant is made and confirmed, and the confirmation of that covenant cannot happen until Israel is made ready for it after God will have destroyed the Ezekiel coalition. The Church CANNOT be here when this covenant between the Antichrist and Israel is made because, according to 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10, it is the Holy Spirit INDWELLING the collective body of Christ (the Church) that is RESTRAINING (hindering, holding back) the ability for the "Man of Sin" to be revealed. Although we cannot be dogmatic on this next point, it is easily inferred that the rapture will happen either just prior to or (as this writer thinks) simultaneously with the two prophetic events of Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38-39. We KNOW from Ezekiel 38-39 that it is God's supernatural intervention in saving Israel that opens secular Israel's eyes to their God, even though she (Israel) will not yet, at that time, recognize Jesus as her Messiah. That ultimate recognition and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Israel's Messiah is God's main purpose for taking national Israel through the Tribulation. God's ultimate purpose is for Israel to come to realize the Messiah she has shunned and has refused to accept (Zechariah 13:8-9). These three preparatory events: the rapture of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-19; 1 Corinthians 15:50-56), the destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17), and the Russia/Turkey/ Iran invasion of Israel on the Golan heights (Ezekiel 38-39), MUST occur BEFORE the Tribulation which, again, begins with the confirmation of the covenant between the man (yet to be revealed) who will become the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27). So, looking at where we are today - right this minute, the stage is already set for ALL of these preparatory events to occur. If the rapture does take place simultaneously WITH these two conflicts, as this writer grows more and more convinced will be the case, then we, the Remnant Church, are right now on the threshold of glory! On May17, 2019, Israeli forces hit several strategic strongholds in Damascus, Syria; and although Damascus has yet to be utterly destroyed in one night (made a "ruinous heap"), not to be habitable as per Isaiah 17:1, the utter destruction of Damascus that either precedes the Ezekiel 38-39 invasion into the Golan, or occurs together with the Ezekiel invasion, is already in the works. It's just a matter of time. So get ready Church! Our Deliverer is standing by and our evacuation from the hell-hole, this fallen world, has become closer than "imminent." Keep your eyes on Damascus, Syria, because the destruction of Damascus and the Ezekiel invasion are VERY close at hand; but before that (or in concert with these two events), WE GO HOME!! MARANATHA!! This is the third book of an end times Bible prophecy series. The first book was called, The NOW Prophecies and the second book was entitled, The NEXT Prophecies. I recently explained why the infamous false covenant of the end times does not resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict in an article entitled, "Does the False Covenant End the Arab-Israeli Conflict?" Whereas there is no biblical basis to connect the false covenant with the resolution of that conflict, there is scriptural support to correlate the false covenant with the rebuilding of the third Jewish Temple. These clues are deposited in Isaiah 28:16-17, Revelation 11:1-3 and Daniel 9:27 and explained below. Before revealing the temple content within the false covenant, it's important to identify the three proof text verses about the covenant and to explain why the covenant is a false covenant. "Because you, (Israel), have said, "We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we are in agreement, (the other parties to the covenant). When the overflowing scourge passes through, It will not come to us, For we have made lies our refuge, And under falsehood we have hidden ourselves."" (Isaiah 28:15, NKJV, emphasis added) "Your, (Israel's) covenant with death will be annulled, And your agreement with Sheol will not stand; When the overflowing scourge passes through, Then you will be trampled down by it." (Isaiah 28:18, NKJV; emphasis added) "Then he, (the Antichrist) shall confirm a covenant with many, (between Israel and Death and Sheol) for one week, (of seven years); But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate." (Daniel 9:27, NKJV; emphasis added) These are the verses that identify the covenant. The reason it is called the false covenant is because it does not bring a genuine peace, but only a false sense of peace. This is because: * Isaiah 28:15 informs that it is made in lies under falsehood on Israel's part, * Isaiah 28:18 points out that it won't stand, but will be annulled, * Daniel 9:27 states that it will be annulled by the Antichrist at the midpoint of the designated seven-year term, which makes it a short lived pseudo peace. Temple Content Clue Number One - Isaiah 28:16-17 "Therefore thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily. Also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet; The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place." (Isaiah 28:16-17) The first clue is contained in the two Isaiah 28 verses above. These two verses are sandwiched in between Isaiah 28:15 and 18, which are the verses referring to the false covenant. These passages use the terms "a tried stone," "a precious cornerstone," "a sure foundation," a "measuring line" and a "plummet." These are terms that can find association with constructing a Jewish Temple. To build the Temple, you start with a tried stone that becomes the precious cornerstone. This cornerstone has a sure foundation built around it. The length and width dimensions of a building need to be calculated with a measuring line, and the vertical accuracy of a structure is determined with a plummet, (plumb-line). I interpret Isaiah 28:16-17 as a warning to the scornful rulers of Jerusalem in Isaiah 28:14 to not drag Israel into being a signatory of this dreadful covenant. These leaders seem to think that they are going to build a Temple and hasten the coming of the Messiah. Among religious Jews today, this is considered one of the main motivators for rebuilding the temple. Isaiah cautions them to not hastily enter this covenant, because the Messiah, Jesus Christ, has already come as the, Tried Stone (1 Peter 2:4-8), Precious Cornerstone (Matthew 21:42, Ephesians 2:19-22) and Sure Foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11). The scornful rulers of Jerusalem believe that the false covenant will permit them to build their temple. They believe that this pact will enable them to lay down the precious cornerstone for the sure foundation of the third temple. However, Isaiah contradicts their thinking by saying, "Therefore thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I, (not the scornful leaders of Jerusalem), lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes, (that I accomplished this over 2000 years ago through Jesus Christ), will not act hastily." (Isaiah 28:16; emphasis added) Temple Content Clue Number Two - Revelation 11:1-3 A second interesting clue is in the book of Revelation. Several important details are provided in these passages below concerning the benefits to both parties of the covenant. These verses describe what happens in the immediate aftermath of the ratification of the false covenant. "Then there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, "Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it. Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months. And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." (Rev. 11:1-3, NASB) The time frame of "forty-two months" is associated with one-half of the seven years of tribulation. The same increment of time is used in the ensuing verse but worded differently as, "twelve hundred and sixty days." It is commonly taught that both usages in these verses allude to the first half of the Trib-period. Thus, the very first thing that appears to happen as part of the implementation of the covenant, is that the Temple gets measured for its construction. The apostle John is given a measuring rod and instructed to measure the temple of God, alluding to the Third Temple. So, if the covenant called for the construction of the Temple, then this would be one of the first order of events. Measure it so that it can be built. Notice that there are some significant restrictions placed upon John's measuring of the Temple that benefit the other covenanting party. The other party are Gentiles who must have some claims to the Temple's outer court and Jerusalem because they are given authority over the outer court, and access to trample through the holy city of Jerusalem. In order for the leaders to build their Temple they will need to negotiate with these Gentiles. This will be a first for them. Historically, the Jews did not negotiate with any Gentiles when they built their first and second temples. The Greek word used for "Gentiles" in Rev. 11:2 is "ethnos." It is used over 150 times in the New Testament and can be translated as Gentiles, nations, pagans or people. The Greek word in that same verse used for "trample," is "pateo," which can also be translated as "tread under foot." Thus, another possible way to translate this verse is, the pagans will tread under foot, the holy city of Jerusalem. They will need this access to make their way to the outer court of the Temple mount, which is given over to these pagan Gentiles. This is an important concession for these pagans. It implies that whoever they are, that they have valid claims to these sacred areas. Presently, the Old City of Jerusalem is divided into four quarters: Christian, Armenian, Jewish and Muslim. The Christian category includes Roman Catholicism. When the covenant gets confirmed and the Gentiles get awarded access to Jerusalem and authority over the outer court, several Bible prophecies will have likely happened. Two important ones will be Psalm 83 and the Rapture, not necessarily in that order. After Psalm 83, the Muslims will probably lose substantial control over their quarter in the Old City and after the Rapture some Christian and Armenian sections will be vacated by many true believers that resided there. This leaves the Jews and probably a strong Vatican contingency. On a side note, the Catholics are amillennial and not looking for a Pre-Trib Rapture. Below is a quote from the respected Catholic apologist, Tim Drake, about the Catholic Church's view of the Pre-Trib Rapture. "The Catholic Church is "amillennial," meaning that it believes that Christ's second coming and the last judgment will happen at the same time. According to Colin Donovan, theologian at EWTN, the Church "teaches that Christ already reigns in eternity (1 Cor 15:24-27) and that in this world his reign ... is found already in the Church."... Therefore, we believe "He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead." Our belief is that the rapture will take place at the end of the world, and not until then." (i) In The Next Prophecies book I provide the biblical basis for the Catholic Church being left behind and becoming the head of ecclesiastical Babylon of Revelation 17. The Catholic Church has a prophetic application to the letter to the Church of Thyatira in Revelation. The Church of Thyatira will be left behind and cast into the sickbed of the great tribulation period. "Indeed I will cast her, (the Catholic Church as prophetic Thyatira), into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her, (the kings of the earth commit fornication with the harlot in Rev. 17:2) into, (the) great tribulation, (period), unless they repent of their deeds." (Rev. 2:22, emphasis added) This does not mean that all Catholics are unsaved, hopefully many of them are born again and will either be Raptured or become true believers afterward. It simply means that the institution of the Catholic Church still exists after the Rapture. Temple Content Clue Number Three - Daniel 9:27 The next clue is found in Daniel 9:27, which also serves as a proof text verse in regard to the false covenant. "Then he, (the Antichrist), shall confirm a covenant with many, (Israel and Death and Sheol), for one week; (of seven years), But in the middle of the week, (after three and one-half years), He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering, (taking place in the Temple). And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate." (Daniel 9:27; emphasis added) Jesus Christ foretells that this event predicted by Daniel happens in the holy place, which represents the Third Jewish Temple at the time. "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains." (Matthew 24:15-16) The intimations in these related verses above, are that by the middle of the Trib-period the Third Jewish Temple will exist. The Antichrist will make a bold statement by entering this Temple and stopping the priestly sacrifice and offering occurring therein. This is in fulfillment of Isaiah 28:18, which says the false covenant will be annulled. "Your covenant with death will be annulled, And your agreement with Sheol will not stand; When the overflowing scourge passes through, Then you will be trampled down by it." (Isaiah 28) What better way to annul a covenant than to void out its terms? If the true content of the false covenant allowed the Jews to build their Temple and perform sacrifices and offerings inside of it, then the action taken by the Antichrist to go into the Temple and stop the sacrifice and offering terminates the contract. These three clues above seem to suggest that the true content of the false covenant has something to do with the building of the Third Jewish Temple. Rev. 11:1-3 points out that when the covenant is enacted the Jews will promptly rebuild their Temple. Isaiah 28:16-17 explains that the Jews will believe that this Temple will invoke the coming of their Messiah. Daniel 9:27 points out that the opposite will happen. They are of the mindset that all data needs to pass through a filter before it reaches the public. Because they have granted themselves a monopoly on truth, they are able to separate fact from fiction. In the past several months, several journalist institutes have released "blacklists" of media outlets they deemed as "unreliable." One list created by an employee of the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center overwhelmingly contains conservative news media outlets. This mirrors the SPLC's "hate group" list, which contains mainstream conservative organizations alongside racist organizations. The SPLC once did important work filing civil rights lawsuits against the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s. But it has become a caricature of itself, labeling virtually anyone who does not fall in line with its left-wing ideology an "extremist" or "hate group." When it was recently announced that SPLC was rampaged with institutional racism and sexual harassment of employees, the liberal media ignored the charges. The press continues to use SPLC as the go-to authority on hate. The Poynter Institute for Media Studies, a Florida-based nonprofit journalism school, released its own list that declared dozens of mainstream conservative sites such as the Washington Free Beacon, Daily Caller, Daily Signal, CNS News, and Breitbart as "unreliable" while listing a few liberal sites. After receiving complaints, Poynter conducted an audit and "found weaknesses in the methodology" used to categorize 515 news sites, according to a letter from editor Barbara Allen. "We regret that we failed to ensure that the data was rigorous before publication, and apologize for the confusion and agitation caused by its publication," Allen wrote. Facebook has been in the doghouse ever since it was alleged that Russia helped the Trump campaign. Nobody cared that the social media site was openly supporting Obama. Chris Hughes, who co-founded Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg, is calling for the firm to be broken up: "Because Facebook so dominates social networking, it faces no market-based accountability," Hughes argues. "This means that every time Facebook messes up, we repeat an exhausting pattern: first outrage, then disappointment and, finally, resignation." Facebook, which also owns Instagram and WhatsApp, lacks true competition, Hughes writes; Mark Zuckerberg has too much unchecked control over the company's direction and the content posted by its users. "Mark's power is unprecedented and un-American," Hughes says, in a strident turn. At this point, Zuckerberg would likely welcome a body to regulate Facebook's content. I'm sure the SPLC is eager to help the site to determine which members and organizations are fit to have active accounts. Facebook is already doing everything it can to limit Christians' access to social media. The obsession with being the gatekeepers has begun to reach into the financial world. Anti-Islam activists Tommy Robinson, YouTuber Sargon of Akkad, and Alex Jones of Infowars have all been banned from various financial sites. I am amazed that people have not reacted to this fascist tactic. Yeah, I think Alex Jones is a nut job, but we are clearly headed down a dangerous path by him being blocked from receiving payments. The activist group SumOfUs has successfully forced Mastercard to hold a vote by shareholders on a proposal which, if passed, could see the company monitoring payments to global far-right political leaders. It would see the formation of a "human rights committee" at the board level, which would monitor financial transactions with designated hate groups. If you are opposed to the Progressive liberal agenda, SumOfUs thinks you should be added to the hate list. It greatly distresses me to see Rapture Ready being restricted by internet giants. Our enemies' compulsion does offer me some comfort. With the mark of the beast system rapidly taking shape, the time of the Anti-Christ's arrival must be very near. Since we leave this world 3 1/2 years before he comes to full power, the rapture is far more urgent. "He causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name...." (Rev 13:16-18). Anti-Semitism goes mainstream - by Sean Durns - https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/anti-semitism-goes-mainstream Anti-Semitism, the late historian Robert Wistrich observed, "is a highly mutable mental virus that infects cultures, movements, ideologies and religions." Increasingly normalized, anti-Semitism is spreading into the bloodstream of mainstream America. And most damningly, key American institutions are not only failing to inoculate against it - they're actually helping to transmit the virus. Regrettably, one only needs to look at Congress for proof. On May 9, 2019, Omar Suleiman gave the Ramadan invocation at the opening of the House of Representatives session. Suleiman is the founder and president of the Texas-based Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. He's also an apologist for Hamas, the Gaza Strip-based terrorist group that calls for Israel's destruction. In numerous tweets, documented by the Washington Examiner's John Gage, among others, Suleiman has compared the world's sole Jewish state to the Ku Klux Klan. He's also compared Israelis to Nazis and denied that Hamas uses human shields or missiles when carrying out attacks. In 2014, Suleiman called for another "intifada," or violent uprising, against Israel. Suleiman has also called Israel the "51st state" - an allusion, the Jerusalem Post's Ilanit Chernik pointed out, "to the anti-Semitic idea that Israel controls American foreign policy." Suleiman has been praised by freshmen Rep. Ilhan Omar, who, among her other anti-Semitic statements, has accused Israel of "hypnotizing the world," insinuated that her fellow lawmakers are purchased by Jewish money, and claimed that the Jewish Americans among them have dual loyalties. The same day Suleiman spoke in the hallowed halls of Congress, Valerie Plame, a former CIA officer, announced that she was running for Congress in New Mexico. Plame first gained fame in 2003 when her employment with the CIA was accidentally leaked by then-U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage. Plame's congressional run marks quite the comeback, both for her and for what some might interpret as her views. In September 2017, Plame received some media attention for recommending an article titled, "America's Jews are Driving America's Wars," from an avowedly anti-Semitic website called the Unz Review. Plame initially defended her tweet, writing that the story by noted conspiracy theorist Phillip Giraldi was "very provocative, but thoughtful." Moreover, she demanded of her critics: "Put aside your biases" as "many neocon hawks ARE Jewish." As criticism of Plame intensified, she finally changed her story, apologizing and claiming that she hadn't read the article and, as a result, missed the "gross undercurrents" of a piece whose very title makes its anti-Semitism clear. However, other retweets by Plame, including one that accused Israelis of dancing after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, were later uncovered. Plame subsequently resigned from the board of the Ploughshares Fund, an organization that supported the Obama administration's deal with Iran. But that was 2017. A mere two years later, Plame feels that her anti-Semitic tweets won't prevent her from being elected to Congress. Indeed, she has good reason for thinking so. After all, it isn't only politicians who are enabling and purveying anti-Semitism. Many of the vaunted watchdogs of the fourth estate are failing in their role, as well. Suleiman's troubling history went largely unmentioned by leading mainstream news organizations. And in their reports on Plame's congressional announcements, many major U.S. media outlets omitted the 2017 controversy - although the Santa Fe New Mexican, a smaller newspaper with a fraction of their budget and staff, commendably included it. Unfortunately, anti-Semitism itself continues to be underreported. Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn, for example, have experienced a frightening increase in physical assaults over the past year. Indeed, it's not hyperbolic to say that an epidemic of anti-Jewish violence is occurring. According to the NYPD, hate crimes in the city have increased by 67% in this year, with 80% being directed against Jews. The Anti-Defamation League noted an astonishing 55% increase in violent assaults on Jews in New York state in 2018, compared to the previous year. Some in the media have reported on the crisis in New York. But many more have not. Their silence is not just unacceptable - it's dangerous. History tells us that strong and judicious institutions are essential to a functioning democracy. And history is equally clear that growing anti-Semitism is the "canary in the coal mine," a sign of the decay and impending collapse of liberal values. The United States remains one of the safest places in the world for Jews. But if that is to continue, its institutions must do a better job at safeguarding against anti-Semitism. At the very least, they can refrain from promoting it. Daily Jot: No peace where there is no peace - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com Attaining the goal of peace between Israel and Palestinian terrorists has been a centerpiece of every president's foreign policy since Jimmy Carter began involving terrorist leader Yassir Arafat in the flimsy Camp David Accords. Now, the current president is taking a stab at creating peace where there is no peace. In a joint statement with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the White House announced May 19 the two countries will host an economic workshop to "facilitate discussions on an ambitious, achievable vision and framework for a prosperous future for the Palestinian people and the region, including enhancements to economic governance, development of human capital, and facilitation of rapid private-sector growth." The statement announcing the "Peace to Prosperity" economic workshop said, "This workshop is a pivotal opportunity to convene government, civil society, and business leaders to share ideas, discuss strategies, and galvanize support for potential economic investments and initiatives that could be made possible by a peace agreement... If implemented, this vision has the potential to radically transform lives and put the region on a path toward a brighter future." The summit is the opening round of what President Trump says will be a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and its enemies. Already, the key party in any peace agreement, the Palestinian Authority, has stated it will boycott the summit. This Administration has been one of the most pro-Israel on record. No doubt that Israel's economic and national security have been supported enthusiastically by the Trump White House. President Trump, unlike his predecessor, has embraced Israel for the strong ally and security partner it is in the Middle East. Notwithstanding, there are two reasons why this peace effort will not bring peace. First, nation-building in the Middle East does not work. The so-called "Palestinians," represented by the Palestinian Authority, an offshoot of the terrorist Palestinian Liberation Organization, have received billions of dollars in US and European aid over the past 40 years and their economic condition is no better and terrorism has not stopped. The old adage of "What you get for nothing is worth nothing" has been repeatedly confirmed. The other reason is prophetic. Daniel 9 foretells with extraordinary accuracy of the coming Messiah, his death, and his return. The Beast (antichrist) in verse 27, "shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (7 years): and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease..." This is the peace treaty that begins the seven years of Jacob's troubles, oft referred to as the tribulation. As Isaiah 28:18 says, "And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand." Even the peace agreement with the end-time Beast will not stand. Neither Donald Trump nor any other US President, will bring lasting peace to Israel. True peace only will come when the Messiah returns, destroys the Beast and his allies, and restores Israel. Then there are people who eat every fattening thing on earth, and when you're with them, you know it will be your downfall. This can happen in our spiritual lives as well. There are certain people who will bring you down spiritually. They don't like you to talk about your faith, but they like to tell dirty jokes or slander people. Or, they're filled with anger. And after you hang out with them for a while, it brings you down. That is what happened with the Israelites. God kept warning them to stop turning to idols. But they kept worshipping false gods because all the pagan nations around them did. God sent prophets to warn them that judgment would come, yet they continued. So the Lord allowed the Babylonians to conquer them, and they were carried off to the distant land of Babylon for 70 long years. Ultimately Babylon was conquered by the Medo-Persians, and the Jewish people were allowed to return to their homeland. After the walls of Jerusalem had been rebuilt, Ezra brought God's Word to the people. They were deeply moved and wept over their sin. The Bible tells us, "Those of Israelite descent separated themselves from all foreigners as they confessed their own sins and the sins of their ancestors" (Nehemiah 9:2 NLT). The Israelites separated themselves from ungodly influences. We need to do the same. Get away from people or places that pull you down spiritually.
