http://rev310.com/2019/06/the-sound-of-a-trumpet Guess what? The feast of Pentecost is right around the corner. This year it occurs on June 9, 2019. The fourth Feast of the Lord is celebrated 50 days after the feast of Firstfruits in early summer. Pentecost (Feast of Weeks), or Shavuot to the Jews, celebrates the end of the barley harvest and the beginning of the wheat harvest. The name Pentecost comes from the word penta meaning fifty. And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete. Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord. Leviticus 23:15-16 Since the feast of Firstfruits always occurs on a Sunday, so must Pentecost. It is another day-specific feast and can occur on different dates of the Hebrew calendar. Originally, Pentecost was celebrated because it was the beginning of the summer harvest. However, in A.D. 135, after the final defeat of the Jewish nation under the leadership of Simon ben Kosiba (popularly known as Bar Kokhba) by Roman legions, the Sanhedrin changed the focus of Shavuot from the summer harvest to the giving of the Ten Commandments and the Law of Moses. They did this because Shavuot was one of the three feasts in which all male Jews were required to observe and gather together (the Feast of Unleavened Bread and Tabernacles were the other two according to Exodus 23:14-17); and the defeated and dispersed nation of Israel would no longer have any national harvests to celebrate. From that time on, the Jewish leaders decided that Pentecost would occur fifty days after the feast of Unleavened Bread (instead of the feast of Firstfruits). So now, in their eyes, Shavuot can come any day of the week and always takes place on the 6th day of the Third Hebrew month of Sivan. This dating method for Pentecost is not biblically correct. The Ten Commandments couldn't have been given to Moses on the 6th day of Sivan because of the following verses in Exodus: "In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai" (Exodus19:1). The children of Israel left Egypt on Nisan 14, 1446 BC and came to Mount Sinai on Sivan 14. "And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes, and be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai." (Exodus 19:10-11) The Lord gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Sivan 17, 1446 B.C., approximately 63 days after the Exodus from Egypt. Pentecost had not been declared yet as a Feast of the Lord. If there would have been a feast of Pentecost that year it would have been on Sivan 9. Pentecost should always fall on Sunday and can come on different dates other than Sivan 6. Pentecost should always come fifty days after the feast of Firstfruits and not the feast of Unleavened Bread. Seven, God's special number, is in focus, as seven Sabbaths must transpire between these two feasts of the Lord. The starting point is the first Sabbath (Saturday) after Passover. The next day, Sunday, is the first day. The seventh Saturday is the 49th day. The next day, Sunday, is the 50th day...from Sunday to Sunday. The feast of Pentecost is very significant to Christians as well as to Jews. Pentecost, or Shavuot to the Jews, celebrated the end of the grain harvest, the summer harvest. Nevertheless, what it is most remembered for is the giving of the Holy Spirit to Jesus' disciples. Precisely fifty days after the feast of Firstfruits (the day the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead), during the feast of Pentecost, 120 of His disciples gathered together in one place to await the promise of Christ. He had told them not to depart from Jerusalem for they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days. But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8) On the 7th day of Sivan on the Hebrew calendar, in AD 33, the Holy Spirit manifested Himself and "they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (verse 4). "Those ordinary people, His disciples, were transformed on that day into men of extraordinary spiritual power who would challenge their world of abject paganism with a dynamic Christian movement that not even the might of Rome could stop. Within a few days, over three thousand Jews became believers. Reliable reports suggest that despite horrible persecutions, tortures, and massive executions, within 70 years over 10 million believers had joined the underground Christian Church throughout the Roman Empire. Jesus fulfilled his prophecy to his disciples, and God baptized them with his Holy Spirit. The feast of Pentecost began the Dispensation of Grace, and the Church was born. It consisted of Jewish and Gentile believers in Jesus as the Son of God and the Savior of mankind." {1} This year, AD 2019, Pentecost is once again on Sivan 7, just as it was in AD 33. The date on our modern Gregorian calendar is June 9, 2019. Did Jesus fulfill the fifth Feast of the Lord by sending the Holy Spirit to his disciples on this day; or is it a future event to occur, such as the Rapture of the Church? By tradition Enoch, one of the patriarchs from Genesis 5, was born on the day later to be known as Pentecost. Enoch's name means "teaching", a primary function of the Church (Matt. 28:19-20). For this reason, many scholars see him as a "type" of the church as well. Genesis 5:21-23 indicates that Enoch was very close to God and was actually taken live (raptured) into Heaven before the Great Flood. Pre-Trib scholars see this event as one of several Old Testament hints that the Church will disappear from Earth before the Great Tribulation. These same traditions also hold that Enoch was taken on his birthday. So here's a model in Genesis 5 of a man identified with the church being born and raptured on the day that would become Pentecost, the day the church was also born. {2} Sivan 17 (giving of the Law to Moses) is ten days later on June 19, 2019. Some students of prophecy believe the following verses to be a comparison (and contrast) to when God came down Mount Sinai in the past on this day and the future Rapture (when we will see Jesus/God): For you are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and storm, and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard begged that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (for they could not endure that which was commanded, And is so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: and so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake: but you are come into mount Sion (Zion), and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem), and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:18-24 What a contrast between the people's terrified approach to God at Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:16-22) and their joyful approach to Jesus at Zion (New Jerusalem). After we are raptured into the sky, we will enter into our new home, the New Jerusalem; to an innumerable number of angels, to fellow Christians and believers, to God, to spirits of Old Testament saints, to Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and to sights and senses beyond our current comprehension. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: for our God is a consuming fire. This figure was recently revealed by the Action Group For Palestinians of Syria, a London-based human rights watchdog organization that monitors the situation of Palestinian refugees in war-torn Syria. This revelation, however, did not make it onto the radar of the international community or "pro-Palestinian" groups in the US, Canada, Britain and other Western countries. The most probable reason: Israel had nothing to do with the deaths of the Palestinian journalists, political activists and academics. They died in an Arab country (Syria). They were killed by their own Arab brothers, not by Israelis. Had the Palestinians been killed or injured or arrested by Israel, their plight would have been immediately criticized by the international community, foreign journalists and media outlets. Yet, why should major media organizations report on these Arabs when they are victims of Arab brutality and repression? The human rights group said that the Palestinians were killed in several parts of Syria while they were covering the civil war that erupted there in 2011. Nine were killed in shelling, five under torture in Syrian prisons, and four were fatally shot by snipers, according to the group. It named the victims as: Fadi Abu Ajjaj (photographer), Jamal Khalifeh (photographer), Ahmed al-Sahli (media activist), Bassam Hamidi (media activist and photographer), Ahmed Taha (photographer), Bilal Saeed (media activist and photographer), Jihad Shehabi (photographer), Yamen Thaher (media activist), Tareq Ziad Khader (journalist), Niraz Saeed (photojournalist), Khaled Bakrawi (photographer), Hassan Hassan (artist), Ala'al-Naji (political activist), Bilal Ahmed (journalist), Eyas Farhat (journalist), Ghassan Shehabi (media activist and academic), Ahmed Kusa (media activist), and Muneer al-Khatib (media activist). The whereabouts of scores of Palestinian journalists, also according to the human rights group, writers and media personalities who were arrested by the Syrian authorities in the past few years remain unknown. Among the missing Palestinians, who are presumed to be dead, are the following journalists and writers: Muhanad Omar, Ali al-Shehabi, Rami Hejjo, Ali Musleh, and Ahmed Jaleel. "It's worth noting that the killings of the Palestinian journalists have not drawn an official Palestinian reaction," the human rights group pointed out. It also noted that Palestinian leaders have failed to call for "bringing the perpetrators to justice on charges of murder and torture of civilians who carried cameras or mobile phones as part of their work." By wondering why Palestinian leaders were not paying attention to the plight of their people in Syria, the human rights group is either being naïve or has yet to realize that these leaders have other priorities than caring for their own people. Let us consider some of those "other priorities." Palestinian Authority leaders in the West Bank, for example, are more concerned about their salaries than the suffering of their people. Last week, Palestinian sources revealed that the ministers of the Palestinian Authority government have given themselves a $2,000 raise in their monthly salary. The decision has triggered a wave of protests among Palestinians, who say it came at a time when the Palestinian leadership is claiming that it is suffering from a financial crisis. The Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip, on the other hand, have no time to think about their people in Syria. These leaders are too busy worrying about how to silence and intimidate critics of Hamas. Recently, Hamas decided to ban the distribution of the Palestinian newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida in the Gaza Strip on charges of "incitement and fomenting discord" among Palestinians. The newspaper, which belongs to Hamas's rivals in the Palestinian Authority, has long been critical of the rulers of the Gaza Strip. Hamas sources said the ban came after the newspaper allegedly "incited" Palestinians during last March's widespread protests over economic hardship in the Gaza Strip. Hamas, they added, is also considering banning the Palestinian Authority's Palestine TV from operating in the Gaza Strip. Hamas is apparently furious because Palestine TV reported that tons of meat donated by Saudi Arabia to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were stolen by Hamas officials. According to the human rights group, 3,987 Palestinians have died in Syria since the beginning of the civil war in that country in 2011. The 18 journalists, activists and academics were among the victims. It is probably safe to assume that the total figure of those killed will reach 4,000 very soon. Hardly a day passes without another Palestinian reported killed in Syria. The latest victim died under torture in a Syrian prison last week. The victim's family has requested that his name not be published out of concern for their lives. Their son, they say, was held in prison for five years before he died under torture. The Syrian authorities gave the family a death certificate, but the body has yet to be delivered to them. His death brings to 606 the number of Palestinians who died under torture in Syrian prisons in the past eight years. One doubts whether Palestinian leaders in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are even aware of these disturbing figures. When was the last time a senior Palestinian official talked about the torture and arrest of Palestinians in an Arab country? They really don't have the time: they are too busy condemning Israel and the US administration to take note of the fact that thousands of their people are being killed, displaced and tortured in Arab countries. Palestinian ministers take yet more money for themselves from the pockets of their own people. Hamas leaders are obsessed with gagging anyone who dares to call them out for their violent and despotic behavior -- even when it has to do with the meat that they stole from the plates of their own people. This is the Palestinian leadership in action. When, one might ask, might we see some reaction on the part of the international community and media? The primary question being "Why would the elites ruin a system that is already working in their favor...?" The answer is in some ways complicated because there are multiple factors that motivate the globalists to do the things they do. However, before we get into explanations we have to understand that this kind of question is rooted in false assumptions, not logic. The first assumption people make is that that current system is the ideal globalist system - it's not even close. When studying globalist literature and white papers, from Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, to H.G. Wells' book The New World Order and his little known film Things To Come, to Manly P. Hall's collection of writings titled 'The All Seeing Eye', to Carol Quigley's Tragedy And Hope, to the Club Of Rome documents, to Zbigniew Brzezinski's Between Two Ages, to former UN Director Robert Muller's Good Morning World documents, to Henry Kissinger's Assembly Of A New World Order, to the IMF and UN's Agenda 2030, to nearly every document on globalization that is published by the Council on Foreign Relations, we see a rather blatant end goal described. To summarize: For at least the past century the globalists have been pursuing a true one world system that is not covert, but overt. They want conscious public acceptance of a completely centralized global economic system, a single global currency, a one world government, and a one world religion (though that particular issue will require an entirely separate article). To attain such a lofty and ultimately destructive goal, they would have to create continuous cycles of false prosperity followed by catastrophe. Meaning, great wars and engineered economic collapse are their primary tools to condition the masses to abandon their natural social and biological inclinations towards individualism and tribalism and embrace the collectivist philosophy. They created the current system as a means to an end. It is not their Utopian ideal; in fact, the current system was designed to fail. And, in that failure, the intended globalist "order" is meant to be introduced. The Hegelian Dialectic describes this strategy as Problem, Reaction, Solution. This is the reality that many people just don't seem to grasp. Even if they are educated on the existence of the globalist agenda, they think the globalists are trying to protect the system that exists, or protect the so-called "deep state". But this is a propaganda meme that does not describe the bigger picture. The big picture is at the same time much worse, and also more hopeful. The truth is that the old world order of the past century is a sacrificial measure, like the booster stage of a rocket to space that falls away and burns up in the atmosphere once it is expended. If you do not accept the reality that the globalists destroy in order to create opportunities for gain, then you will never be able to get a handle on why current events are taking the shape they are. Of course, in public discourse the elites have learned to temper their language and how they describe their agenda. Public knowledge, or at least general awareness of the "new world order" is growing, and so they are forced to introduce the idea of a vast societal and economic shift in a way that sounds less nefarious and is relatively marketable. They also have a tendency to hint at events or warn about disasters that are about to happen; disasters they are about to cause. Perhaps this is simply a way to insulate themselves from blame once the suffering starts. The International Monetary Fund began spreading a meme a few years ago as a way to describe a global economic crash without actually saying the word "crash". Managing Director Christine Lagarde and others started using the phrase "global economic reset" in reference to greater centralization of economic and monetary management, all in the wake of a kind of crisis that was left mostly ambiguous. What she was describing was simply another name for the new world order, but it was one of the first times we had seen a globalist official actually hint that the change or "reset" would be built on the ashes of the old world system, rather than simply built as an extension of it. Lagarde's message was essentially this: "Collective" cooperation will not just be encouraged in the new order, it will be required - meaning, the collective cooperation of all nations toward the same geopolitical and economic framework. If this is not accomplished, great fiscal pain will be felt and "spillover" will result. Translation: Due to the forced interdependency of globalism, crisis in one country could cause a domino effect of crisis in other countries; therefore, all countries and their economic behavior must be managed by a central authority to prevent blundering governments or "rogue central banks" from upsetting the balance. The IMF and the CFR also refer to this as the "new multilateralism", or the "multipolar world order". I believe the next stage of the economic reset has now begun in 2018 and 2019. In this phase of the globalist created theater, we see the world being torn apart by the "non-cooperation" that Lagarde and the CFR warned us about in 2015. The trade war is swiftly becoming a world economic war drawing in multiple nations on either side. This scenario only benefits the globalists, as it provides perfect cover as they initiate a crash of the historically massive 'Everything Bubble' which they have spent the last ten years inflating just for this moment. As I predicted in my article 'World War III Will Be An Economic War', published in April of 2018, the tariff conflict between the US and China has become an excellent catalyst for the global reset. In my article 'America Loses When The Trade War Becomes A Currency War', published in June of 2018, I stated: "One question that needs to be addressed is how long the current trade war will last? Some people claim that economic hostilities will be short-lived, that foreign trading partners will quickly capitulate to the Trump administration's demands and that any retaliation against tariffs will be meager and inconsequential. If this is the case and the trade war moves quickly, then I would agree - very little damage will be done to the U.S. economy beyond what has already been done by the Federal Reserve. However, what if it doesn't end quickly? What if the trade war drags on for the rest of Trump's first term? What if it bleeds over into a second term or into the regime of a new president in 2020? This is exactly what I expect to happen, and the reason why I predict this will be the case rests on the opportunities such a drawn out trade war will provide for the globalists." The economic world has a very short attention span, but a year ago in the alternative media the trade war was being treated by Trump cheerleaders in particular as a novelty - a non-issue that would be resolved in a matter of a months with Trump victorious. Today, those same people are now vocal trade war fans, waving their pom-poms and screaming for more as they buy completely into the farce. Mentioning the fact that the trade war is only serving as a distraction so that the globalists can complete their economic reset agenda does not seem to phase them. They usually make one of two arguments: Trump is an anti-globalist that is tearing down the "deep state" system and the trade war is part of his "4D chess game". Or, the globalists don't have enough control over the current system to achieve the kind of "conspiracy" I describe here. First, going by his associations alone, it is clear that Donald Trump is controlled opposition playing the role of "anti-globalist" while at the same time stacking his cabinet with the very same elites he is supposedly at war with. As I have outlined in numerous articles, Trump was bought off in the 1990's when he was saved from possible permanent bankruptcy by Rothschild banking agent Wilber Ross. Trump made Ross his Commerce Secretary as soon as he entered the White House, and Ross is one of the key figures in the developing trade war. At this point I have to say that anyone arguing that Trump is "playing 4D chess" with the banking elites while he is surrounded by them on a daily basis must be clinically insane. Every economic and trade policy Trump has initiated in the past two years has served as a smokescreen for the globalists controlled demolition of the economy. As the reset continues in the midst of the trade war, it will be Trump and by extension all conservatives that get the blame. Trump is a pied piper of doom for conservative movements, which is why I have always said any attempts to impeach Trump (before the crash is completed) will fail. The globalists like him exactly where he is. Second, there is a globalist controlled central bank in almost every nation in the world, including supposedly anti-globalist countries in the East like Russia and China. All of these central banks are coordinated through the Bank For International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland. The globalists covertly dictate the economic policy of nearly the entire planet. They can easily create an economic collapse anytime they wish. This is a fact. However, what they do not control is how elements of the public will react to their reset agenda. And this is where we find hope. They do not have their "new world order" yet, which is why they have to resort to elaborate theatrics and psychological operations. They know that an awake and aware segment of the population could annihilate them tomorrow with the right motivation, and so, they continue to distract us with a swarm of other concerns and calamities. The purpose is to convince the masses to focus on all the wrong enemies while ignoring organized and psychopathic elites as the root of threat to humanity. We are supposed to hate the Russians, or hate the Chinese, or hate people on the left, or hate people on the right, and so it goes on. But these conflicts are just symptoms of a deeper disease. The great danger is that the focus on globalists as the virus will fade from public consciousness and conservative circles in particular as the trade war becomes a world war and economic collapse results in financial pain. The reset is upon us. The narrative of the collapse is being written before our eyes. The end game rests not on the globalists, though, but proponents of liberty and sovereignty. Either we keep our crosshairs on the true enemy, or we get sucked into the maelstrom and forget who we are and why we are here. If the latter occurs, then the globalist reset will be assured. Prayer Wars - By Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/2019/06/07/prayer-wars-terry-james/ Never in American history has there been in presidential politics a time that more fits within the descriptive given in Ephesians 6:12 than the time we are currently experiencing. That spiritual battle describes succinctly, in my opinion, the time that has led up to where America and Planet Earth stand at this moment. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. " For decades it has been as if the dark, hellish forces of the ages have been turned loose against this nation, which has been so openly blessed by Heaven. The cultural and social "progress" thought to have been made, according to those who want to detach America from the Judeo-Christian mooring the founding fathers provided, are threatened by a significant challenge. We the people of God just might have decided we don't wish that progressive agenda to proceed further. Thus, the war is on in a way perhaps unseen in the annals of U.S. presidential elections. We as God's people are told how to fight such warfare as that in which we are presently engaged. We are to "put on the whole armor of God" (Ephesians 6:11). The Bible provides a description of that spiritual armor with which we are supposed to adorn ourselves in order to wage war against this most powerful and wicked enemy force. Once we are fully, spiritually armed, we are told we are to be "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints" (Ephesians 6:18). How well most Christians these days have fully armored up is in question. The dumbing-down by the godlessness of the secular world and-even more troubling-by the compromising churches of recent times, has taken a heavy toll. However, the one weapon mentioned in the apostle Paul's spiritual battle preparation of Ephesians chapter 6 is in play during this war for the survival of this once-great republic. I am believing that the core of the people in this nation who hold to the truth of the Word of God-the Bible- are "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" that the Lord will intervene in this war that is raging. It is a "prayer war" to be sure. I'm aware of the seminary and other positions that say 2 Chronicles 7: 14 was only for Israel and doesn't apply to America. But, the God of Heaven does not change. Jesus Christ, who is God, is the same yesterday, today and forever, the Scripture tells us. I am trusting, therefore, that that great promise given to Israel during their direst time of need applies equally to those of this day and time who are "called by His name." Although the nucleus of God's people who hold fast to the Heavenly Father's precepts and promises might be a dwindling number, we are still here in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. We are engaged in this Prayer War for a restoration of sanity in America's government, society, and culture. We are praying specifically that the evil forces that are raging to make this nation into a state totally apart from all godliness will be, at least on an interim basis, kept from their luciferian goal. I say "on an interim basis" because Bible prophecy plainly foretells that the satanic, globalist forces will for a time one day achieve establishment of a one-world order as Antichrist's platform of power. It will happen. It's just a matter of time. Meantime, however, while the Church of Jesus Christ is here, thus the Restrainer (the Holy Spirit) resident within that Body holding back evil, it is right and proper-and I believe expected-that God's people, called by His name, are to pray the prayer of 2 Chronicles 7:14. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Millions, I'm convinced, are even at this late hour leading up to the 2020 presidential election praying this prayer to the best of our ability. I believe movements and revelations of corruption within the political processes of late reflect directly the Lord's attentiveness to the genuine prayers of His spiritually attuned prayer warriors. If America is again -like in the 2016 presidential election- to be so blessed by a positive answer to those prayers by Heaven's throne room, I believe it will mean that the battle like that described in Ephesians chapter 6 will, after the election, intensify even more than if God's answer is otherwise. And, it will, in that case, be this nation's final dispensation of liberty, if there is not a turning back to God in a major way. The war of the ages as this Church Age dispensation moves into its final stages will be fought most effectively by God's people in the prayer closets of America. Let's be sure to put on the whole armor before engaging in the battles we face. Daily Jot: Iran, the bomb, and prophecy - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com Olli Heinonen, the former Deputy General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the agency that is supposed to hold accountability on nuclear nonproliferation, told Israel's Army Radio that despite assertions to the contrary by the current leadership of the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency, which he left in 2010, Tehran has not been adhering to the 2015 nuclear deal. Heinonen said that Israel and the Gulf states have reason to worry because Iran has been enriching uranium at a pace to have a nuclear bomb in six to eight months. What did the world expect when America's immediate past "president" gave the terrorist state a free pass on nuclear development and $1.7 billion in cash delivered on pallets in 2016? On September 11, 2015, Republicans in Congress were meekly trying to break a Democratic filibuster aimed at stopping a "no" vote on the "president's" Iranian nuclear deal, which eventually unleashed some $100 billion in sanction money to the terrorist state. The "president" said it would bring peace. But at the same time the debate was taking place, the Ayatollah in Iran was calling America "The Great Satan" and vowed that Israel would be a mere memory within 25 years. For a decade, the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency played cat and mouse with Iran on its development of nuclear weapons, saying Iran was not a threat because it didn't have a missile delivery system. That has changed. In May 2016, the US "president" effectively cleared the way for billions of dollars to be pumped into Iran in reward for agreeing to delay its nuclear program for at least ten years. Many analysts believed Iran would instead accelerate nuclear development. Within months, Iran proved that the White House narrative was deadly deceptive with prophetic implications. In the end of days, Iran will need to be in submission to Gog of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (all in Turkey), for the fulfillment of the Ezekiel 38 prophecy of Gog leading a coalition of Persia (Iran), Libya; and Ethiopia (Sudan) against Israel. When we see Iran being brought into such a coalition with Turkey and these prophetic nations aligning against Israel, we know this time is near. The Lord says in Zechariah 12:3, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Many find it hard to imagine how, for example, the United States would be gathered prophetically against Israel. This is why leadership is so important. The US had supported Israel since it became a nation. The immediate past "president" reversed this backing and by supporting the enemy of God, Islam, who manifests on earth its rebellion against the one true God by terrorizing Israel. The current US president is now faced with what many say is an imminent threat from Iran, bringing with it prophetic consequences of past leadership alliances with principalities of darkness. At the same time, I have seen people who claim to have discovered special Bible codes and to have determined the day of Jesus' return. Yet Jesus said, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Mark 13:32). As the book of Acts opens, Jesus is alive, and the disciples return to an old idea: "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:6). They still didn't quite get it. They were excited that the Lord was alive again, but they were saying, in effect, "Okay, we are back to business as usual. It's really weird the way You got crucified, but You're alive, and it's wonderful. Now, let's get the kingdom established." They still thought Jesus was coming to establish an earthly kingdom and overthrow the power of Rome. But Jesus responded, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority" (verse 7). He was saying, "This is not the thing for you to be concerned with right now." Jesus was saying to them (and to us), "Don't be so worried about when I am coming. Rather, focus on what you are to be doing while you await My coming. Don't worry about the when. Just be ready, because it could happen at any moment." As we look at history, we see that the Roman Empire eventually crumbled . . . but the gospel prevailed.
