With things heating up in the Pacific northeast, people are wondering what a potential war with North Korea means' in the prophetic picture. Let me be upfront and state that I believe a war with North Korea will transpire, and that they are about to experience fundamental regime change. Let me be clear in saying that the North Korean regime under Kim Jong Un (KJU) will collapse through divine action. Now God may use the military, diplomatic, or economic means, but it will happen because He allows it. As a result, the Gospel will go into North Korea even if for only a brief period of time. But the Gospel will go none the less and reap a harvest of souls. Note what Jesus Christ stated in His Olivet Discourse: And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14 The last time I checked, North Korea was included in that "all the nations" category. Consider these two points. The first of which is since 1949 North Korea has remained belligerently and militantly closed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christianity, along with any other religion has not been tolerated. Rather, the Kim's are held up in messianic-type worship putting themselves before even God. Secondly, of the world's totalitarian regimes, North Korea is the last remaining one which has not allowed the Gospel in in any meaningful way since the 20th century. Consider the following: Soviet Union: 1922-1991= 69 years The Soviet Union killed an estimated 20 million of its citizens with atheistic and communistic purges through Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev, and other Soviet premiers. But that regime finally collapsed in 1991 and allowed around a ten-year window for the Gospel to go in and the Russian Jews to come out and back to Israel. Christianity is still allowed, although the Putin regime is starting to clamp down again on anything other than the Russian Orthodox Church. The Peoples Republic of China- 1949-2017= 69 years After Mao Zedong's disastrous Great Leap Forward and bloody Cultural Revolution, along with his death in 1976, China began to change the direction it had been headed. This fundamental shift came 27 years into their original communistic platform shortly after President Nixon opened the communication channels with the Chinese. They had seen the failures under Mao of his experimentation economics and social policies, along with the estimated deaths of 55 million deaths that had occurred and decided to go a different path. Although not a true democracy or republic, China at the presents tolerates in varying degrees, Christianity. Some estimate that there are currently over 100 million Christians in China which is why it hasn't collapsed as of yet. North Korea: 1948-2017=69 years Paraphrasing this article, North Korea is not an atheistic nation, but rather probably the most religious country on the planet. That religious worship is not directed toward God or any other deity, but to men. Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are both revered as "gods" in the sense that all North Koreans are required to direct their prayers toward them for everything. The Kim's have set themselves up much in the same vein as some of the ancient Roman Emperors (i.e., Nero, Diocletian, etc.) who either acted as a "god" or demanded worship of themselves. Kicking the Can As I noted in Rumors of War Part II (June 4th, 2013), North Korea already had the capability then to miniaturize a nuclear warhead and put it in a "weather" satellite. In fact, they've had that technology since at least 2008. I said this while most of the so-called paid "experts" scoffed and repeated the same old mantra that North Korea was '10-15 years away' from this technology. This was the same old mantra that had been regurgitated by swamp-agents in the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations for decades. Yet, two satellites were launched under then-president Obama's tenure: Kwangmyongsong-3 launched on April 13th, 2012 (the truth was buried by the Obama administration) and Kwangmyongsong-4, which launched January 2016. (KW4 can be tracked daily by following the hyperlink) Since US intelligence agencies have known since 2008 that North Korea could successfully miniaturize a nuclear warhead, it's not entirely unreasonable to believe that this is the reason why Kim Jong Un is even more unhinged and belligerent than his father. It is because he knows what he currently has flying over the earth at this very moment. Contrary to most press reporting, that North Korea has nuclear missiles is old news. Previously, the DIA (2011), European intelligence agencies (2009), and a CIA official (2008) have all stated publicly that North Korea has miniaturized nuclear warheads and deployed them on its Nodong medium-range missile. This is a conservative, sound assessment, since North Korea has been working on nuclear warheads for nearly 20 years, and has had three nuclear tests. (Washington Times, April 2013) IF North Korea does have a miniaturized nuclear warhead in one or both of those satellites, KJU could detonate a low-yield mini nuke in that satellite the next time it passes over the United States literally at will, which would essentially send the US back to the 19th century. And to a nation, as addicted to our electronics as we are, that would mean the complete societal collapse of this nation. From the Gatestone Institute: A Super-EMP weapon is designed to produce gamma rays, not a big explosive yield. So a Super-EMP weapon is consistent with all the North Korean tests, including low yield tests, such as the first 3 KT test, and two other suspected North Korean tests. Those were sub-kiloton yet also showed evidence of traces of tritium. Because a Super-EMP weapon is low-yield, and not designed for blast effects, it can be easily tamped when tested. That possibility could account for America's inability to detect any plutonium or uranium from North Korea's tests. One design of a Super-EMP weapon, of Russian origin, is virtually a pure fusion weapon, so that after an explosive test, there would be little or no plutonium or uranium to detect. As a Super-EMP weapon is, essentially, a very low-yield H-Bomb, it would be consistent with North Korea's claim. North Korea's two successful satellite launches -- of the KSM-3 in 2012 and the KSM-4 in 2016 -- both look like tests of a Fractional Orbital Bombardment System (FOBS). The FOBS, a Soviet-era secret weapon, would, like a satellite, launch a warhead into low-earth orbit. The FOBS could therefore disguise a nuclear EMP attack as a peaceful space launch. It would conceal the intended target because its flight path masked that information. FOBS would also have allowed the Soviets to attack the United States from over the South Pole, the opposite direction from which U.S. early-warning radars and missile-interceptors, under the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), are oriented, both during the Cold War and today. Fire and Fury The liberal press and politicians were virtually apoplectic with Trump's strong message back to Kim Jong Un. In fact, they were more bothered by Trump's words, than North Korea's actual actions. But Trump supporters weren't shocked to hear him say this when commenting about KJU boasting on striking the US with a nuclear weapon... "North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States," Trump told reporters just before a briefing on the opioid crisis at his resort in Bedminster, N.J. "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening beyond a normal statement." Ari Fleischer, the former Press Secretary for President G. W. Bush, was interviewed on Fox News recently about this particular "fire and fury" comment and said (I am paraphrasing this sound bite) Trump has listened to what the past three administrations have said in regards to our messaging with North Korea, and how they all failed. He chose a different tone and message, which is in part why he was elected. This message was more likely intended for China (who holds the reigns on North Korea) than necessarily North Korea itself to let them know he is absolutely serious about stopping North Korea. The people didn't elect Trump to parrot the same old narrative that hasn't gotten the US anywhere with North Korea for the past 20 years. As I've noted in previous articles going back several years, I believe then as I do now, that regime change is coming. I pointed out in The Hermit Kingdom (February 9th, 2015) how technology is forcing its way into North Korea and the people there are being exposed to the outside world for the first time in a generation. The average North Korean is beginning to realize they are not the center of the universe and that North Korea is NOT the greatest nation on the planet. In Blue Sky Option #4 (April 10th, 2017) I noted what the election of President Trump meant regarding geopolitics, and that he was not willing to continue kicking the can down the road. We have run out of road. What I reiterated in both briefs, is that a collapse of the North Korea regime could mean the Gospel making its way into one of the last satanic strongholds on the planet. In recent history, there seems to be a seventy-year time limit in how far God will allow these atheistic nations to exist in their current forms...In 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed under the weight of its own corrupt and bloated bureaucracy. But in all the cases where communism collapses two things are seemingly and divinely allowed to happen. The Gospel is sent in, and the Jews that are there, are allowed out. (The Hermit Kingdom) Furthermore, as God is the one who enthrones leaders and rulers for a time and season (Dan. 2:21) it seems that seventy years is about the extent that God has allowed for authoritarian-type governments to remain in control (at least now here at the end of the age). The Iron Curtain collapsed in 1989 after 44 years of control. The Soviet Union (1922-1991) collapsed after 69 years. Both China and North Korea formed communist governments in 1949 and 1948 (respectively), which puts them right about the 70-year mark in 2017. (Blue Sky Option # 4) North Korea will not be allowed to continue as is going forward. Seeing as both Russia and China have signed on to the latest round of economic sanctions that actually put a bite into KJU's cash flow, this may be for one of two reasons. Both Russia and China have finally come to their senses and realize that North Korea is every bit the failed state the West has said it was. Both Russia and China are using North Korea as the attack dog they helped create, and are finally comfortable using North Korea to take out the United States by way of EMP. While this may initially destabilize the world markets and the like, it potentially sets themselves up in a far better position going forward to reshape the world as they see fit. Conclusion We have run out of road. The can we've been kicking is now the size of a barrel and filled with plutonium, and all we are doing is bruising our feet. The US can't sweep the threats under the rug anymore, or else we are no longer the world's superpower. North Korea doesn't follow the Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) doctrine any more than Iran does. This is why then President G.W. Bush labeled them as part of the axis of evil. They don't care about the consequences because their leadership has lost the ability to reason. This is why diplomacy doesn't work with them because they will lie to your face and continue doing whatever they deem necessary to destroy their enemies. In the West, we have relegated the Korean War (1950-1953) to the dustbin of history. But for North Korea, the war is as alive today as it ever was. That war is all they have because the Kim's didn't "exist" before it. The threat of war for them is all they have to preserve the status quo which places them as "gods" to their average citizen. They need their arch-nemesis to continue to cement their control. Unfortunately for them, they have finally developed the technology that allows for the justification for the West to finally finish what should have been done six decades ago. That is not to say that the US will survive unscathed whatever comes of this action. If we are hit with an EMP, it may very be the key to setting up the Gog-Magog Alliance (Ezekiel 38-39) that comes to power here at the end. The US may not be in a position to help Israel when Russia, Turkey, Iran, and the other confederate nations come against her. So of the three major communist regimes of the 20th century, only North Korea has remained unchanged. God has pried upon the other nations through a variety of means, and North Korea will be no different. This is why I feel very confident that God is about to tear down the house of Kim and allow the Gospel in for the first time in decades. Light will come into that oppressed nation full of misery and darkness which will bring millions of North Koreans to know Jesus Christ just before the Rapture of the Church. While a preemptive North Korean nuclear attack on the U.S. and/or America's Pacific allies sounds like a plot ripped from my 2008 novel, Dead Heat, it may no longer be a fictional scenario. U.S. intelligence agencies are now convinced that "North Korea has successfully produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit inside its missiles, crossing a key threshold on the path to becoming a full-fledged nuclear power," reports the Washington Post, based on a confidential analysis by the Defense Intelligence Agency. "The United States calculated last month that up to 60 nuclear weapons are now controlled by North Korean leader Kim Jong In," notes the Post. This week, Pyongyang threatened to attack the island of Guam with ballistic missiles that could be armed with nuclear weapons. With 160,000 residents and two U.S. military bases, the Pacific island territory now appears to be in Pyongyang's crosshairs. President Trump immediately warned the leaders of North Korea not to dare even consider attacks against the American people or their allies, saying they would experience American "fire and fury like the world has never seen." "Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely," the President added. "Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path." We need to pray for peace, and for our leaders to have wisdom to know how best to contain the North Korean threat and ratchet down tensions. We need to pray that countries like China will use their considerable leverage to persuade the North Koreans to back down. As a protective measure, the U.S. needs to be urgently bolstering its naval and air assets in the Pacific theater, as well as its missile defense assets, closely coordinating both defensive and offensive capabilities with allies like South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and Taiwan, among others. At the same time, we need to reexamine the disastrous nuclear deals both President Clinton and President Obama made with North Korea. Both men promised the American people that their diplomacy would make us all safer by persuading Pyongyang not to pursue nuclear weapons or the long-range ballistic missiles to deliver them. Both could not have been more wrong. Such serious misjudgments have helped get us to this exceedingly dangerous moment. In October of 1994, President Bill Clinton cut a deal with North Korea in which Pyongyang agreed to "freeze and gradually dismantle its nuclear weapons development program," reported the New York Times. "This agreement will help achieve a longstanding and vital American objective - an end to the threat of nuclear proliferation on the Korean Peninsula," Mr. Clinton told the American people. "This agreement is good for the United States, good for our allies, and good for the safety of the entire world," Mr. Clinton added. "It's a crucial step toward drawing North Korea into the global community." In return, the Clinton administration gave North Korea $4 billion in energy aid. In addition, the Clinton deal gave North Korea two nuclear power plants, for which American taxpayers helped foot the bill. "This is a good deal for the United States," Mr. Clinton said at the time. "North Korea will freeze and then dismantle its nuclear program. South Korea and our other allies will be better protected. The entire world will be safer as we slow the spread of nuclear weapons." But Mr. Clinton and his senior advisors couldn't have been more wrong. In February of 2012, President Obama was similarly duped. Mr. Obama agreed to a deal in which Pyongyang promised (again) not to build nuclear weapons and stop testing long-range ballistic missiles. In return, the Obama administration agreed to give North Korea 240,000 metric tons of food. Experts warned the Obama team at the time that "it is naïve at best for the administration to herald a North Korean 'commitment to denuclearization' after the many years of North Korean actions definitively proving the contrary." Less than a month later, Pyongyang tested another long-range rocket in clear violation of the agreement, and a humiliated Mr. Obama had to suspend the food aid program. Clearly, the policy of "strategic patience" (read: "do nothing and hope for the best") run by Mr. Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been a colossal failure. If all this weren't bad enough, it's made worse by the fact that the insane Obama nuclear deal with Iran was essentially patterned - and sold - after the Clinton deal with North Korea. As I warned in this Fox News interview and elsewhere (see here and here), the ayatollahs in Tehran are working closely with Pyongyang on nuclear and missile technology. They're also watching how the U.S. and the world powers handle a nation aspiring to become a nuclear armed power. So far, they're learning the West can be played for fools, and a small but aggressive nation can build a nuclear arsenal without much fear of being stopped. Concerning North Korea, the nation has clearly tested ICBM's, threatened to nuke New York, boasted of having missiles that can hit anywhere in the U.S. and more. Some in the U.S. doubt North Korea's ability to nuke a desired target in the U.S. (other than Hawaii or Alaska). But many of these doubters agree that the rogue nation could be just a few weeks or months away from being able to reach other cities in the U.S. Vice President Mike Pence warned North Korea that the era of patience is over, and Kim Jong-un warned the U.S. that we are sitting on the knife's edge of life and death. The U.S. has banned travel to North Korea starting on Sept. 1, 2017 and it has advised all Americans in that nation to leave by that date. Concerning Russia, as I understand it, Israel warned Russia that it would not accept Russian, Iranian or Hezbollah troops on its border with Syria and Mr. Putin agreed to keep them away. Russia now has a few hundred fully outfitted troops a few miles from Israel's border, but Mr. Putin says he is keeping his agreement because they are police, not troops. On Aug. 2, 2017 DEBKAfile reported that Russia has airlifted 2,000 mercenaries into Syria to join 3,000 others that were already there. Russia has also brought in an unspecified number of Muslim troops from the Republic of Ingushetia. So, Russia has new troops in Syria that are not Russian, Iranian or part of Hezbollah. Concerning world government-leaders from all over the world have agreed to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This is basically a globalist scheme to create a world government by 2030. On July 25, it was reported that the UN has started advancing its plan to establish a one-world, one-track school system with textbooks that promote the 2030 globalist agenda. Concerning America's need for godly leaders, on July 31, 2017, it was reported that Ralph Drollinger of Capitol Ministries is conducting a weekly Bible study at the White House and about a dozen members of Pres. Trump's Cabinet are attending. The article mentioned several Cabinet members by name, but I will just mention one: Education Sec. Betsy DeVoss. Mrs. DeVoss attended a Christian school that was established by her church. She is a committed Christian and a strong advocate for school choice. She and her husband have a foundation that has giving millions of dollars to hospitals, schools, missions and more. God is good. He often meets the needs of His people before they even ask. The White House Bible Study caused me to wonder if God put these Christians in office at such a time as this because He knows all about America's great needs? Did God give America a strong Christian secretary of education that advocates school choice because He knew that the UN will be pushing a one-world, one-track, non-Christian, no-choice school system, and we need someone that will resist it? Daymond & Rachel Duck [email protected] "ISIS out: Iran in" doesn't apply to Syria - www.debka.com Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the Mossad Director Yossie Cohen asserted separately on Sunday, Aug. 13, that wherever the Islamic State is thrown out, Iran moves in. This assessment was borrowed from American evaluations of the situation in Afghanistan and Yemen. It does not work as a guiding principle for Israeli security in its immediate neighborhood - certainly not for Syria. Cohen was correct in stating in his briefing that Iran presents Israel with its greatest peril, and that the Islamic Republic has used its 2015 nuclear accord with the six world powers as an accelerant for developing nuclear weapons. But that does not make the situation in Syria analogous to Afghanistan, as an examination of the facts show. ISIS was pushed out of parts of northern Syria by the Syrian army, Turkish troops, Syrian rebel groups and Kurdish militias. But neither Iranian forces, nor Hezbollah or the Shiite militias, imported from Afghanistan and Pakistan to fight under Iranian officers, have moved in to take their place. Neither have they been allowed a role in the ongoing offensive for the capture of Raqqa. And no Iranian or Shiite presence is to be found in Tabqa, northwest of this former ISIS capital in Syria, or Al-Bab north of Aleppo. Both towns were wrested form the jihadists by other forces. Had Netanyahu and Cohen noted that Iranian and Hezbollah took part in some of the battles fought by Russian and Syrian army forces, they would have been correct. However, it must be said that the pro-Iranian forces' participation in battles against ISIS was never more than a by-product of their overriding objective, which was to preserve Bashar Assad in the presidential palace in Damascus. Today, they are closer than ever to achieving their goal in view of the crumbling resistance: the US, Saudi Arabia and Turkey this month signaled they were pulling their support from the Syrian anti-Assad insurgency. The Netanyahu government's fundamental misconceptions on the Syria question dates back to 2012, the second year of its civil war, when Israel's security and intelligence chiefs insisted that Bashar Assad's days in power were numbered. This misjudgment prevailed. It was repeated only a few months ago by Maj. Gen. Hertzi Halevy, head of AMAN (IDF military intelligence). It led to another fundamental error, which was Israel's decision not to impede Hezbollah's entry into the Syrian war in 2013 to shore up Assad's rule. The thinking then was that Hezbollah would come out of the brutal conflict weakened and in no shape for waging war on Israel. To the contrary, Iran's Lebanese surrogate has come out of the Syrian conflict as a hardened terrorist legion, in better shape than ever before and, moreover, rewarded for its critical support for the ruler with a say in Syria's post-war future and the strategic asset of an anti-Israel warfront stretching out of Lebanon across into Syria. Paradoxically, the Russian air force and special operations units are helping Syrian, Iranian and Hezbollah forces to vanquish Syrian rebel and ISIS groups, while latterly US special forces began helping Syrian, Lebanese, Iranian and Hezbollah forces cleanse the Syrian Lebanese border of the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front presence. Two world powers are therefore backing the Syrian-Iranian-Hezbollah lineup against the extremists. Iranian and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah are being enabled to reach Israel's borders - not as a result of the removal of ISIS but the open door provided them by the coordinated actions of two world powers. The ratio of one enemy (Iran) replacing another (Isis) is not just an over-simplification of the situation, but a misreading. Netanyahu certainly meant what he said Sunday that "Our policy is clear. We strongly object to the military entrenchment of Iran and its surrogates, led by Hezbollah, in Syria, and we shall do what is necessary to guard Israel's security. That is what we are doing." But what exactly can he do against the jeopardy to Israeli security resulting from the process underway in Syria, which is supported not just by Russia, but by Israel's most stalwart strategic ally, the United States, and supportive Saudi Arabia? Can you imagine a world in which you would never have to stand in line at the grocery store? Or the airline ticket counter? Or TSA? Can you imagine a world in which you would never have to worry about having your identity stolen when shopping online? Or your credit cards accessed by hackers? Can you imagine a world in which you would never have to worry about filling out tax forms? Or keeping track of receipts? Can you imagine a world in which you would never have to worry about your grandmother falling and not being able to summon help? Or a heart attack or a stroke dropping you before you could call 911? You don't have to imagine. That world is here. All of these things are now possible, or will soon be possible, because of the microchip. And the incredible convenience and safety the microchip promises will be possible because of The System. The System will link all of the services and protections the citizens of the world could ever want or need and automatically provide them to the bearer of the microchip. For a world that worships at the altar of "convenience," The System will be the ultimate servant. For a world that is rapidly descending into fear, The System will be the ultimate protector. And that is how the Antichrist and the False Prophet will get billions of people to take the Mark of the Beast. It will promise the convenience and safety we all crave. Does that sound like the plot line for a science-fantasy movie coming soon to your local theater? Well, it's not. The technology to accomplish everything I have just described is already available. Granted, much of it is in the rudimentary stages, but we all know from experience that once a technology is invented, its perfection and utilization often follows at blinding speed. What's more, the Bible prophets predicted that in the final days of this Age of Grace, knowledge (technology) would increase exponentially in both breadth and speed. For the Mark of the Beast System to work as it must, it will require a cashless world and participation by most of its people. Daily, the governments of the world call for the abolition of physical cash as the world's currency. They are joined by corporations, banks, intellectuals, terrorism experts, drug trafficking experts, organized crime prosecutors, and even public health officials. And that time is closer than you may think. Today, the world's monetary structure is no longer based on gold, silver, or even boxes of paper bills stashed in the vaults of banks or national treasuries. The zeroes and ones of computer code already serve as the world's true currency. Do you doubt that people will willingly accept a microchip implanted in their hand to receive the conveniences and safety The System will provide? Last week in Wisconsin, a small firm offered to implant a microchip in the hand of any employee who chose to accept it. The payoff? The employee would no longer need an ID card to enter the building, a password to access the computer system, or cash or credit card to purchase items from the company break room. None of those activities sound too taxing or inconvenient, do they? Yet almost half of the 85 employees chose to have the chip implanted in their bodies in return for the basic and very limited "convenience" it offered. How can they refuse when the Mark of the Beast System offers lavish, almost unlimited, convenience and safety? The Bible says they won't. Also on this week's program, I'll discuss what Plato called in 488 BC, "the ship of state." Right now, the United States Ship of State is leaking -- badly. Not since the infamous "White House Plumbers" has the nation faced as critical an internal threat as it does right now because of the incessant, criminal leaking of sensitive information by individuals across our national government. This is not the work of patriots, but traitors. The U.S. government is at war with itself. And that makes the world more dangerous for everyone. Finally, this week I want to tell you about what I believe is the first and worst of the doctrine of demons: Legalism. In Hebrew, the word for "Satan" means "Adversary." In his role as "god of this age," Satan conducts a relentless, well-planned strategy to blind men's minds to the truth about God and how to know Him. One of his most effective tools is "legalism." That is, seeking to live for God by the principle of Law. It is the dent in your armor at which Satan will chip away until he has a hole big enough to drive a truck through. Satan knows that a personal faith-walk with God is based upon the principle of "grace" instead of "law." So his goal is to slowly lead even mature believers into a sense that what was begun in faith must be perfected by the flesh. To trade "grace" for "law." He constantly seeks to keep unbelievers away from "grace." For those who have already come to Christ, he seeks to erase "grace" from your thoughts and beliefs. Satan is perfectly happy with the believer striving to live by the "law." Don't fall prey to the deceptions of the Adversary. Trust your salvation to the only one who can actually save you -- Jesus. Amos 8:9 (The Israel Bible™) The Biblical plague of darkness will be dramatically replayed next week when a rare solar eclipse transits across the full width of the United States. This astronomical phenomenon, unique in the entire solar system, is described in ancient Jewish sources which one rabbi interprets as a divine warning specifically targeting the United States. On August 21, a total solar eclipse will mark a trail from the Northwest US to the Southeast Atlantic Seaboard. The eclipse will occur on the last day of the Hebrew month Av, a day known as Yom Kippur Katan, the "small day of repentance." The morning after the eclipse, Jews will begin blowing the shofar every morning for a 40-day period of profound repentance leading up to Yom Kippur. This corresponds to the 40 days Moses was on Mount Sinai atoning for the Jewish people. The upcoming eclipse is exceedingly rare and viewed from a larger perspective, the heavenly bodies are creating a picture that clearly has divine import. Though it has been 99 years since an eclipse travelled the length and breadth of the US, the next such occurrence will be in just seven years. On April 8, 2024, another total solar eclipse will transverse North America, but the visible path will go in the opposite direction, passing from the Northeast to the Southwest. The paths of the two eclipses form a transcontinental 'X'. In a strange coincidence, the only spot in the path of both eclipses, receiving a double-dose of this modern plague of darkness, and the point of the longest duration for both eclipses, is a part of southern Illinois known, appropriately enough, as Little Egypt. Just as the original plague of darkness was meant as a warning to Egypt, Rabbi Lazar Brody, an American-born Hasidic rabbi and teacher, understands this present-day manifestation to be a divine message. "In Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism), the sun represents the nations of the world, and the moon represents Israel," Rabbi Brody told Breaking Israel News. "This eclipse is only over the United States. That is a shout from above, saying, 'America, get your act together, Come back to the Almighty and cast away all your legalization of what the Torah calls abominations'." Rabbi Brody explained that the message implicit in an eclipse is that God's light has not been extinguished. "Through man's actions, God's influence in the world is being hidden in a state of hester panim (hiding God's face)," Rabbi Brody explained. Rabbi Brody quoted the Talmud (Succah 29a) which states that if an eclipse appeared in the West, it is a sign that idol worship has prevailed. "Idol worship isn't only bowing down to idols. In the US, there are people who worship homosexuality and perversion, one of the reasons the Talmud states for a solar eclipse." The divine significance of the event is emphasized by the fact that as far as scientists can discern, solar eclipses are unique to planet Earth. Ira Machefsky, an amateur astronomer with 60 years of experience, explained this unlikely confluence of circumstances. "The moon is 400 times smaller than the sun but they appear to be the same size in the sky," Machefsky explained to Breaking Israel News. "But the moon almost precisely blocks out the sun when it passes between the sun and the earth. This is because the sun is approximately 400 times further away from the earth than the moon." Though a man of science, Machefsky sees the Hand of God in this unique placement of the sun and moon. "No other planet in our solar system has solar eclipses because the odds of this happening precisely as it does on Earth are so infinitesimally small," Machefsky explained. "Scientists have yet to discover another planet that has solar eclipses. They call this Earth's 'grand coincidence', but I call it 'the causal proof of the existence of God'." Machefsky explained that the moon is moving away from the Earth at the rate of one centimeter every year, and in the future, the moon will appear smaller in the sky, making solar eclipses a thing of the past. "Eventually, there won't be solar eclipses," Machefsky said. "This unique phenomenon will disappear from the universe." Though the nation of Israel is unaffected by the upcoming solar eclipse, spiritually and celestially, stargazers in Israel were treated to a partial lunar eclipse just one week ago. Since the moon is the heavenly body that represents Israel, Rabbi Brody understood that as bearing a message for the Jews. "This lunar eclipse said to me that there is a blemish in the faith of the Jews," Rabbi Brody said. "And I am not talking about the non-religious. The religious Jews need to repent even more. Faith and mitzvot (Torah commandments) lift us above the stars. When we cling to Hashem above, we don't have to worry about what's happening in the world below. "But when Jews cling to the ways of the American lifestyle," Rabbi Brody warned, "We lose that connection with Hashem (God)." It is a recipe for disaster. In short it's two hate groups who hate each other, certain types of people, AND the American Constitutional Republic. This was evident in in Charlottesville, Va. over the weekend. Of course, the haters are all saying that there is no place for hate, and the leftist media and leftist politicians are taking sides. Herein lies the trouble with free speech. There comes a responsibility with all types of freedom. These people choose hate over responsibility, politics over civility. They all should be held accountable. The story begins with a movement to remove all the statues and public mention of those who led and fought on the Confederate side of the Civil War. Skin heads, white nationalists, Nazis, racists all gather together under the Confederate flag to protest such removal. They are a bunch of angry people. Antifa stands for "anti-fascist action" and, by its own definition, is an organization of anarchists and communists fighting to end fascism. In reality, they are the militant arm of the radical leftists who seek to undermine the US government and foment a socialist takeover of America. Add in Black Lives Matter, which has similar political goals and we have a gradient of hateful and wrong-minded groups converging. There really is no "Yeah, but" in this situation. All sides are hate mongers and they would just as soon end the American form of government than suffer its benefits. The trouble with free speech is that it comes with the responsibility to be non-violent and do no harm to others. When you have these groups who wish to harm one another, responsible free speech falls in the streets. That's why we have law enforcement to protect the citizens and to protect the protesters from one another. Politicians often curb law enforcement to meet their political goals. By the time Virginia's governor, leftist Terry McAuliffe, called a state of emergency, a riot had ensued leaving one dead and numerous injured. Common sense should dictate that when these types of people converge at the same point, there will be violence. Politicians need to quit playing games and protect the public safety by preventing violence rather than allowing it, and then placing blame as they play their twisted political games. Antifa, Black Lives Matter and McAuliffe all want to undermine the President. They and their media lapdogs blame the "white supremacists" for the whole thing, but they are all to blame. We all have the right to free speech and to peaceably assemble. Politicians and their pawns should be made to respect those rights for the safety of all citizens. Jesus said in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." Let us firmly promote peace and civility in our society. Be a voice of reason. As the queen's treasurer, he was a powerful man who would have traveled with an entourage. He went to Jerusalem in search of God, but found dead, lifeless religion instead. However, he obtained a scroll of Isaiah while he was there. And as it happened, he was traveling through the desert, reading aloud about the suffering of the Messiah, when God led Philip to go to him and share the gospel. Philip saw him traveling along, reading from Isaiah's scroll. So Philip walked up to him and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" (verse 30). The man said, "How can I, unless someone instructs me?" (verse 31). Philip climbed up into the chariot, took the scroll, told him what it meant, and pointed him to Jesus. And before the day was over, that man had become a believer and left with joy in his heart and a spring in his step. This is what people are still looking for today: someone to show them the way. There is one thing that Christians and non-Christians have in common: both are very uptight about evangelism. Christians are uptight about evangelizing, and non-Christians are uptight about being evangelized. But I think some of us give up way too easily. When we ask someone if anyone has ever told them about Jesus, or if we invite someone to church and they say no, we give up too easily. Instead, try asking, "Well, why do you say that? Did you have a bad experience in church?" God has primarily chosen to reach people through people. So engage them, and most importantly, keep praying for them. Give it a try, and you will discover what a joy it is to tell others about Jesus.
