The World is About to Tremble - Joseph Chambers -
www.pawcreek.org Matthew 12 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. The judgment that is about to engulf this world is awesome. God cannot be blasphemed but for long enough to fill His cup of wrath. Our Father is patient but just so the two great expressions of His character must meet together. Believe me, the time is near when this world will tremble. I have never seen a World condition so clearly on the brink. One miscalculation could send the Middle East into an all out slaughter. The Russians have become belligerent and aggressive. The Muslim World sees all of the upheaval as an opportune time to pursue their One World Kingdom. The threats against President Trump have us afraid for his life and we should be. The Media is afraid to report the truth about the threats to America least it play against the Democrats in the coming election. We have a political party in America that has become the "Homosexual Party." Every presidential candidate in that party has endorsed the "Sodomy Agenda." Same-sex marriage has practically been made a constitutional mandate by our activist Supreme Court. Using precedents set by the United Nations and European Union, six of our nine justices voted to strike down the "Sodomy Law" of Texas. America is the world's last hope for civility and common sense. The Sovereign God, Whom we love and serve, will not forsake the righteous and Godly citizens in this nation. If we are courageous enough to make a stand, He is faithful to defend our Biblical position. There is a point in every culture, civilization, or age when the cup of God's indignation is full. When that happens, and only He knows the time, the wrath of God will be manifest. Our God never judges the righteous with the wicked. He is absolute, just, and holy, and no act of His hand can be seen as malicious and mean. The Bible says that when men or women are reproved and reproved and reproved and only become hardened, that sudden judgment is inescapable. America needs a wake-up call that we failed to hear on nine eleven, two thousand (9-11-2000). There are tens of thousands of Godly men and women in this nation and the hand of our faithful God will vindicate us. The Holy Ghost said, "He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy." (Proverbs 29:1). God will not be mocked. He is intimately involved with His universe, and it is His universe. "For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof." (I Corinthians 10:26). The Standards of God's Coming Judgment God never acts maliciously. He is not vindictive, neither does He act to get even or to pay back those that disobey His commands. His actions of judgment are rooted in His holy character and are redemptive towards His world and His kingdom. He judges to cleanse and protect instead of judging to vindicate. Often ungodly men have accused our God of vengeance and maliciousness, but He is not guilty. His world, which is also our world, would disintegrate into a filthy quagmire were it not for His actions of judgment. He judges sin to return civility to His and our world. His action is determined by the "cup of sin" when it is filled to an unbearable level. He always allows sin to fill its own cup and when the cup is full, He searches among the guilty to be certain that the righteous is not unduly judged with the wicked. His acts are always that of a loving Father, who acts perfectly just. Let's visit Abraham and listen to his and God's conversation. First, listen as God talks to Abraham. "And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous. I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD." (Genesis 18:20-22). Then, Abraham responded to God. "And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" (Genesis 18:23-25). As the conversation continued, Abraham pursues God to reconsider by reducing the number of righteous persons needed to save Sodom and Gomorrah from swift destruction. What a picture of the Father's compassion and willingness to prevent judgment if possible. Yet, when it was clear that the cup of filth had prevailed, nothing could stay the hand of God. When the cup is full, when His indignation is without mixture or when the righteous and those in authority become so wimpy and compromised that they will not take a stand, His judgment is manifest. When God uses the term, "without mixture," He means, "when wickedness is coddled by those in authority or by the religious." America is perilously close to this sad state of mind. Look at what Jesus gave John to write in the last book of Holy Scripture. "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb." (Revelation 14:10). "Judgment to the line" is another standard of this coming judgment. Slowly the church of America has been reduced in its Biblical concepts to believe the Bible is relative and debatable. Our nation's conscience used to be strong in Judeo-Christian absolutes. If the Bible said it, we believed that settled it. This truth is one of the casualties of this apostate time. Everything about God is so fluid and changing that no real conviction guides most of our ministries and preaching or our living. This will change when judgment begins. The Bible is infallible and pure. Every commandment and truth will play a part in the Day of Judgment. Look at this breathtaking statement by the Holy Ghost of God. "Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it." (Isaiah 28:17-18). Our God is not pernicious. Judgment will not vary by one's position in this ife or his/her standing in political or religious circles. It will be exact and pure by the Word of God and the field will be level before the Judgment Seat of Christ and the White Throne Judgment. Romans 1 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. There will be no place to hide. Most sins are undiscovered to us in our present world. Many people hide their carelessness for years and go unnoticed by those outside their intimate circles. That is soon to end. The Bible is full of warnings about hiding one's sins. Solomon taught us, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13). Jesus warned us, "For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops." (Luke 12:2-3). Another important standard of judgment deals with the idea that says, "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required." (Luke 12:48). Those in the church who have every privilege to know the truth will be judged first and more severely. The American church is playing with fire by our careless treatment of truth. Our political world would not be such a mess if the church had not already become so filled with compromisers and self-serving religionists. The Bible says, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (I Peter 4:17). When people that know what the Bible says, or those that should know but are too busy for themselves, trifle with His truth, they are going to pay the price. This lack of accountability to the message of Scripture is why the church in America is filled with people that live just like the world. How can the church speak effectively to the holocaust of abortion when the percentage of abortions is the same in the church as in the world? It's all insanity and the judgment of God is about to sort out the compromisers and truth rejecters. The Time of God's Judgment No one has the right to set the day that judgment at its final level will begin. Already there are signs of judgment as the whole world is shaped by Biblical prophecies given by His prophets thousands of years ago. It is impossible for the current alignment of nations to have occurred without the Hand of God. To watch our soldiers march up through the ancient land of the Garden of Eden right through Ancient Babylon into Baghdad and up to Ancient Ninevah (Mosul) made my spirit dance with joy. The world is shaping up for finalities as our God has proclaimed by His servants. There are several clear indications of coming judgment. The weather patterns are a small matter but clearly described in Scripture. Jesus said, "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." (Luke 21:25-27). The media has started using the term "wicked weather." It amazed me the first time I heard them use that analogy. Peter used language that was extremely descriptive. "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?" (II Peter 3:10-12). As the weather continues to develop in erratic patterns, all of us will soon get the message. The earth is running down. Sin has left a scourge over this planet. The blood of millions of babies' cries from the ground, and God is listening. Do not forget it, God is listening. The Lord Jesus gave us a powerful indication of the "End Times." He said, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matthew 24:36-39). If we use this description of the end and take the whole picture from Genesis of Noah's day, the picture is overwhelming. We have surpassed the evil that Scripture declared characterizing Noah's day the, and yet we continue as though we think God is not looking. Open your eyes, my friends. "When Jerusalem is under siege," we are warned that the end is at hand. Watching the peace process in Israel is a lesson in Biblical theology. Zechariah prophesied over 2,500 years ago exactly what is occurring right now. He said, "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness." (Zechariah 12:2-4). What is happening in the Middle East is perfect Biblical fulfillment. As long as Jerusalem and Israel was the center of attention in the Middle East, time was on hold. As soon as Iraq, where Babylon is located, was ushered into the mix, then the picture became complete. The whole balance of nations is on a Biblical timetable, which is impossible to ignore. Nothing sets the clock on the wall of time more clearly than what is happening in the Middle East. That clock is on a race to midnight. When the wicked are blind, arrogant, and totally oblivious to judgment, it's a sign of impending judgment. Nothing speaks of judgment more than when men laugh at judgment. When the angels came to Sodom and Gomorrah to prepare for judgment, the godless crowd tried to break down the door at Lot's home. These sodomites were ready to rape angels in their belligerence and rage. Angry wicked people always explode in their godlessness as the judgment hangs in the balance. Their rage is usually the force that tips the balance and then God acts. 2 Corinthians 5 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. David wrote eloquently of this day in which we live. He declared the deliverance of the righteous and the connecting judgment of the wicked. Judgment always embodies both elements. God never judges the righteous with the wicked and He always reserves His deliverance of the righteous for the day when He prepares to judge the wicked. Let's hear this prophet of the past, "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book." "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." "Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." (Daniel 12:1, 12:4, 12:10). Our world is sitting on ready. All The World Will Recognize The True God Finally, all arguments will end in the debate on who is the true God. Today, anyone that is so narrow as to believe that the God of the Holy Bible is the only true God is viewed by the world as a bigot. The politically correct view is to worship a smorgasbord of gods. Our children that are protected from the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, are being taught about the many gods of many cultures. The entertainment world teaches our youth to be entertained by demons, spirits, and occultic ideas. Biblical words and thoughts are integrated with satanic ideas just to denigrate truth. The Bible is powerful to warn us that the true God will soon be evident to all. Isaiah proclaimed, "For when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness." (Isaiah 26:9b). When this earth is reeling and rocking by the hands of judgment, there will be no atheists. They won't pray to the moon god or Allah or Krishna. The wickedest of men will cry out to the eternal God revealed to the Jews and now known by Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son. "And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Revelation 6:13-17). Hebrews 9 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Conclusion The world is about to tremble. Judgment hangs in the balance and the next wicked event could tip the scales. God does not judge the sinner, but He judges the sin. Anyone can escape today by repenting. The moment you turn from sin to the cleansing power of His shed blood, you will escape the coming holocaust of unspeakable sorrows. Our God never rejoices in the sorrows of judgment. We are forbidden to rejoice when the wicked are judged of their sins. God said He would turn their judgments back if His people rejoiced. "Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him." (Proverbs 24:17-18). He is a Heavenly Father with great mercy to the sinners, but holy and pure and cannot allow sin to continue. "...Prepare to meet thy God..." (Amos 4:12). Will Israel launch a military ground operation in Gaza? - By Israel Kasnett - https://www.jns.org/will-israel-launch-a-military-ground-operation-in-gaza/ The question many are asking: Does Israel have the ability to tackle that right now, and if so, why hasn't it taken this course of action? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has come under attack for his perceived inaction on the Gaza front with some saying that he is more concerned with election polling calculations. Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip again attacked Israel, this time firing three rockets into the southern city of Sderot over the weekend, with two of them being intercepted by the Iron Dome air-defense system. Some Israelis are calling for a military ground invasion into Gaza to damage, or even eradicate, Hamas. The question many are asking: Does Israel have the ability to do so, and if so, why hasn't it taken that course of action? According to Efraim Inbar, president of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security, the government is certainly capable of conducting a large-scale operation. "The issue is not capabilities, but political will," he told JNS. "The political calculations are complicated," he added. "It is possible to argue that a demonstration of determination can be helpful to Netanyahu in the elections." But does Netanyahu have the political will? According to what he told the media ahead of his flight to Kiev this week-the first in 20 years for an Israeli prime minister-it would seem he does. He said, "If it is required, we will embark on a large campaign with considerations to the elections-with elections or without elections." Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman was among those who voiced their frustration with the prime minister. "He is an excellent presenter but a weak leader who lacks leadership and is incapable of making decisions in times of crisis," he wrote on his Facebook page. Blue and White chairman and former Israel Defense Forces' Chief of Staff Benny Gantz said "the deterrence hasn't been eroded, it's been erased." Former Education Minister and now Yamina Party member Naftali Bennett called for more drastic action. He said, "We need to move on to a policy of persistent attacks, chasing after the terror leaders. They have to start fearing for their lives." Inbar seems to disagree with Bennett. He said Netanyahu "is not trigger-happy, which is commendable." Inbar also said that going for a victory over Hamas "is naive." "We should remember that we cannot eradicate a well-rooted Hamas," he said. Israel should "debilitate Hamas's military capabilities," he insisted, but admitted that the terror group would rebuild as soon as Israel leaves. "It is a long, repetitive struggle," said Inbar. He believes that Israel's ability to conduct a war of attrition "shows our strength." 'The more Machiavellian explanation' Yoram Schweitzer, a researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and head of its program on terrorism and low-intensity conflict, told JNS that Israel's current policy is that of containment. "Israel is capable of harming Hamas in a much more harsh way. There is no question," he said. However, he emphasized that "we are trying to work with mediators to try and calm the situation, and not allow it to get out of hand. ... Hamas understands Israel's limitations and is provoking Israel accordingly." Schweitzer offered that the shorter explanation for Israel's decision to adopt a containment strategy "is Israel's reluctance to enter at this stage into a more comprehensive conflict." "The broader perspective," he said, "may be that Israel wishes to maintain the conflict with Hamas on a low level, but uses it in order to prevent any Hamas-Palestinian Authority cooperation or any resumption of peace talks with the P.A." Schweitzer believes that Netanyahu is trying "to hold the rope on both sides." He said the prime minister doesn't want to allow for resumption of talks with the current P.A. government and would like to prevent Hamas from doing too much harm. "That is the more Machiavellian explanation," he quipped. A question often asked by experts and the Israeli public alike is whether or not Israel should maintain the status quo. According to Schweitzer, an Israeli ground operation has "all kinds of components." He said that "Israel would like to conduct the first operation in order to harm the Hamas leadership in a way that would be effective. This requires a much more aggressive and surprising attack." Schweitzer thinks that the basic question if Israel does indeed launch a ground operation is whether it can achieve its military goals in Gaza without having to spend more than a short time there. "This is not an easy dilemma," he acknowledged. "The solution is not optimal, but this is a dilemma that any government would have." Still, the question lingers: Will Israel launch a ground operation in Gaza? According to Inbar, "it is inevitable." Nearing Midnight: On Observing the Times - Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ Jesus looked directly and deeply into the eyes of the pious religionists and elitist-legalists (the Pharisees and Sadducees). His omniscient, penetrating, piercing, eyes saw into their very souls. These religious zealots and lawyers sought to disprove the claims by His followers that He was sent from God. They wanted Him to immediately perform a private miracle for them, thinking, no doubt, that He would fail, giving them fodder for their attacks against Him. Jesus, in answer to their probing demands that He show them a sign to prove His commission from Heaven, said: When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? (Matthew 16:2-3) Thus begins the introduction to my latest book, Discerners: Analyzing Converging Prophetic Signs for the End of Days, to be released very soon. The Lord's admonishment is one of the strongest given for those who are supposedly responsible for knowing what God's Word, the Scripture, has to say about issues and events -about circumstances-of the times surrounding their lives. The Pharisees, in particular, were supposed to know, in-depth, God's Word to Jews. Yet, these not only didn't recognize the fact that the Messiah was among them, they mocked Him and wanted to-and eventually did-kill Him. Jesus had performed miracle after miracle. The signals were in every direction that He was who He was-the very Messiah for whom all of believing Israel longed. Rather than embracing their future King, they mocked, harassed, and ultimately murdered Him, with the help of the Roman government. They wanted a "sign" from Him, yet He had done wonders that everyone in Israel knew about except, seemingly, these Pharisees and Sadducees who confronted Him. This man of Galilee represented a threat to their authority of being religionists and legalists who ran things. They couldn't have their controlling apple cart turned upside down. Theirs was a very lucrative business, and they wanted no Messiah ruining their money-making enterprises. Saul of Tarsus, of course, was, before his Damascus Road experience, one of the chief prosecutors/persecutors who sought to end the lives of those who followed Jesus-the one whom religionists and legalists considered an imposter, but whom His followers believed and claimed to be Israel's Messiah. We must wonder today about those, particularly among the so-called clergy-who cannot or will not discern the times. These totally ignore, or refuse to accept, God's Word on things to come. They spiritualize or allegorize prophecy yet future concerning Christ's soon return to put an end to this rebellious world system. Would Jesus say the same to these today as he said of the religionists of that day? "O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" The Bible consists of-as my friend, the late Chuck Missler, used to inform-about 27 percent prophecy. Of that, approximately 14 percent is yet to be fulfilled. Yet only a very few pastors in the pulpits will touch on the prophetic portions. If they do, they spiritualize it or allegorize it to such an extent that they give their congregations little indication that these are things to come, in a literal sense. They certainly don't examine the prophetic portions about prophecies yet to be fulfilled, checking on and including issues and events of the times that are unfolding-times that even a modicum of examination and exploration would divulge are absolutely ripe with prophesied things on the very cusp of taking place. Such things to come are bulging at the proverbial seams, trying to burst forth. Looking at the political situation in America today, as well as at the moral comportment of so many, what discerner from a believer's perspective can deny that evil men and seducers are growing worse and worse? Seeing the battles, with the nation divided almost down the middle, who with a discerning spirit can deny that rebellion against the God of Heaven is raging, or that that same God, the Holy Spirit, is acting as never before as Restrainer against the evil that is ramping up moment by moment? Who that has been given discernment by that same Holy Spirit can but recognize that worldwide hatred for Israel is coming to a head, just as the prophet Zechariah foretold? All prophetic signs are in process of converging at this very moment during these strange and troubling, although exciting, times; they are exciting because it all means the Lord Jesus Christ must be about to call all believers into the clouds of glory to be with Himself. The believer that Jesus Christ is who God's Word says He is must be dedicated to observing these matters unfolding so near the time of His return to establish His righteous kingdom on this rebellious earth. It's time for Christians to be discerners. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:15-17) Latest Antics from the Israel-Bashing Industry - by Andrew Ash - https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/14753/israel-bashing-industry US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D- Michigan) decided to pull the plug on the trip to Israel she was due to make, originally with her fellow "Squad" member, Ilhan Omar, after they both were invited on an official congressional trip but declined. Although both Tlaib, and the equally outspoken Ms Omar, had initially been refused entry because of their radical views promoting the obliteration of Israel by boycotting it, being boycotted back was not part of the plan, it would appear. Tlaib was finally granted permission on "humanitarian grounds", after an emotive plea to Israel's Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, in which she set out her reasons for wanting to visit her Palestinian grandmother in the West Bank. The newly minted congresswoman then back-tracked and has now decided to cancel the trip altogether. Her grandmother, Tlaib tweeted, would not want her to come under the conditions she had already agreed to, that is -- to refrain from using the opportunity as an attention-seeking political platform. "Silencing me & treating me like a criminal is not what she wants for me," Tlaib thoughtfully wrote. Ms Tlaib's grandmother is 90 years old, so this might be the last opportunity they get to see each other again. For Tlaib, however, it appears, this lost opportunity is merely collateral damage when it comes to the advancement of an anti-Israel political agenda. Having to show some restraint for a day or two is, it appears, an affront to her conscience. Considering that both Tlaib and Omar had been invited to -- and turned down -- a scheduled trip to Israel, along with other freshmen members of Congress, just two weeks earlier, the whole episode looks more like a smokescreen to hide her primary motivation: to agitate. Tlaib had initially asked to go to "Palestine," which so far does not exist, on a trip arranged and co-sponsored by a Palestinian not-for-profit organization, Miftah, headed by a longtime Palestinian spokesperson, Hanan Ashrawi. Miftah is described by Becket Adams in the Washington Examiner as "an exceptionally anti-Semitic group that praises Palestinian terrorists and claims Jews used the blood of Christians in the Jewish Passover. The organization also publishes Neo-Nazis and calls for the destruction of Israel." Miftah has also called female suicide bombers heroes. It must take quite a bit of effort to be "exceptionally anti-Semitic." So, for Israel, it seems clear, any decision was, from the start, jerry-rigged to be lose-lose. Where is Tlaib's criticism of China for occupying Tibet, or Turkey for occupying northern Cyprus, or Pakistan for occupying Kashmir, or for criticizing England for refusing entry to the esteemed scholar Robert Spencer while hate preachers are welcome? Tlaib's revealing behaviour quite possibly exposes the real motivation behind her proposed visit, which now looks far less like a desire to visit her grandmother, and a whole lot more to do with an apparent penchant for bashing Israel and limelight-chasing. What seemed an attractive proposition to travel to Israel and stir things up in front of the cameras evidently became less appealing after having to pledge to behave. It seems that if she cannot combine the trip with some controversial coverage, there is, for her, no point in it. Tlaib has a well-documented history, in her bid to highlight her political concerns, of making a spectacle of herself. In 2016, at rally in Detroit for then presidential candidate Donald Trump, Tlaib's "protest" soon deteriorated into mayhem. As she was filmed grappling with Secret Service agents, and Trump's own security detail, she is heard screaming -- "You are all crazy!" -- before being forcibly escorted from the auditorium. In 2018, whilst still a congressional candidate, she arrived, mob-handed, at a supposedly "peaceful" demonstration outside a McDonald's restaurant in Detroit. Once again, Tlaib was escorted out -- and this time arrested -- while protesting for a $15/hour minimum wage. When she is not busy being physically removed from a venue, she seems to find it patriotic to rail against the Capitol Police for doing the job assigned to them by Congress: arresting protestors who display a similar disregard for law and order. "I have never felt more Palestinian, than I have felt in Congress", she defiantly declared to the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights in April 2019. That does seem a bit rich, coming from the same woman who has taken succour in tweeting that Senators who supported a pro-Israel bill "forget what country they represent." The double-standards contained in her soundbites unfortunately diminish any credibility she might have had in being a Palestinian woman fighting for the rights of her grandmother's homeland. Her behaviour only serves to dilute the seriousness of the issues she claims to represent. She simply seems uninterested in any type of protest that does not involve either noisy eviction or arrest, or in which she cannot get attention or be regarded as a victim. It is hard not to wonder what she is doing for her constituents. Is the wish to bash Israel actually what keeps the good voters of Michigan awake at night? And is anti-Semitism now the accepted new face of the Democrat Party? It is not surprising that her proposed visit might have been of some concern to Israel. As M. Zuhdi Jasser, author and founder of the American-Islamic Forum for Democracy, said about the incident: "I have to tell you, we have to understand first, what is the BDS [boycott, divestment and sanctions] movement? It's an anti-Semitic, basically genocidal movement that wants to see the end of Israel. So make no mistake, these are not moderates coming to visit Israel. Israel per its 2017 law has a right to prohibit activists, especially those who want to see it wiped off the map, from coming in." The latest ideas to surface from the Israel-Bashing Industry is a discussion by "around a dozen Democrats" in the US House of Representatives about censuring Israel's ambassador to the US, Ron Dermer, and the US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, over a "deep lack of confidence and trust." McClatchy quoted a congressional source saying, "We are reviewing all of our options." Tlaib in a tweet, then proposed boycotting a television program by Bill Maher, who had the misfortune correctly to observe about the movement to destroy Israel through "BDS" strangulation, "It's a bulls--- purity test by people who want to appear woke but actually slept through history class." He went on: "It's predicated on this notion-I think it's very shallow thinking-that the Jews in Israel are mostly white and the Palestinians are browner, so they must be innocent and correct, and the Jews must be wrong. "As if the occupation came right out of the blue, that this completely peaceful people found themselves occupied...Forget about the intifadas and the suicide bombings and the rockets and how many wars. "Let me read Omar Barghouti, one of the co-founders of the movement... His quote: 'No rational Palestinian ... would ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.' So that's where that comes from, this movement, someone who doesn't even want a Jewish state at all. Somehow this side never gets presented in the American media. It's very odd." US Rep. Ted Lieu (D- California), evidently not wishing to be left out, joined in, accusing US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman of "allegiance to [a] foreign power" -- but not accusing Rep. Tlaib of allegiance to "Palestine." In a weepy press conference, all inconvenient facts were distorted or omitted, such as what had actually been their planned itinerary, and why Israel had felt compelled to build a security barrier in the first place? Could it have had anything to do with countless Palestinian terrorist attacks in which "more than 900 people were killed" and "thousands injured'? Did the security barrier in Israel work to stop them? According to then Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, Israel saw "over a 90 percent reduction in terrorist acts in that country that they attribute to having an effective fence... If Israel can do it effectively, there's no reason why America can't." Other fairy tales at the press conference included, among other calumnies, efforts to compare Israel to apartheid South Africa, when in fact Arabs are by and large treated equally to Jews; are Supreme court judges and members of parliament, have political parties, and are admitted to any profession. Rep. Omar also called checkpoints dehumanizing, when the only reason for their existence is to stop Palestinian terrorist attacks. Of course, no mention was made at the press conference that the Palestinian Authority, under its leader Mahmoud Abbas, now approaching the 14th year of his four-year term in office, has "banned a Palestinian LGBT rights group from organizing any activities in the West Bank and threatened to arrest them, saying such activities are contrary to the 'values of Palestinian society.'" By contrast, Israel, every year, holds one of the world's largest "Pride" events. Results such as these to an invitation that Tlaib herself had asked for -- "This could be my last opportunity to see her [the grandmother]. I will respect any restrictions and will not promote boycotts against Israel during my visit" -- indicate that Israel's concern was right. Daily Jot: Anatomy of a hate filled political stunt - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com On August 15, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanayau barred Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from an official visit to Israel. Netanyahu explained in his statement: "As a vibrant and free democracy, Israel is open to any critic and criticism, with one exception: Israel's law prohibits the entry of people who call and operate to boycott Israel. Congressmen Tlaib and Omar are leading activists in promoting boycott legislation against Israel in the US Congress. Only a few days ago, we received their visitation plan, and it became clear that they were planning a campaign whose sole purpose was to strengthen the boycott and negate Israel's legitimacy." Omar issued a statement: "It is an affront that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, under pressure from President Trump, would deny entry to representatives of the US government. Trump's Muslim ban is what Israel is implementing, this time against two duly elected Members of Congress. Denying entry into Israel not only limits our ability to learn from Israelis, but also to enter the Palestinian territories. Sadly, this is not a surprise given the public positions of Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has consistently resisted peace efforts, restricted the freedom of movement of Palestinians, limited public knowledge of the brutal realities of the occupation and aligned himself with Islamophobes like Donald Trump." Then on the same day, Tlaib wrote in a letter to Israel's Ministry of Interior: "I would like to request admittance to Israel in order to visit my relatives, and specifically, my grandmother, who is in her 90s and lives in Beit Ur al-Fouqa. This could be my last opportunity to see her. I will respect any restrictions and will not promote boycotts against Israel during my visit." Israel granted her request. Then, after Israel accepted Tlaib's visit based on her own conditions, Tlaib refused to go, claiming racism, oppression and injustice. She stated, "Silencing me & treating me like a criminal is not what she [her grandmother] wants for me. It would kill a piece of me. I have decided that visiting my grandmother under these oppressive conditions stands against everything I believe in--fighting against racism, oppression & injustice." Israel's Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, who granted Tlaib's request to visit her grandmother, responded: "Apparently her hate for Israel overcomes her love for her grandmother." This pretty well sums it up. Israel has experienced for decades this type of hate-filled propaganda and political stunts from the Marxist-Islamist Palestinian movement. Now that Michigan and Minnesota have elected these anti-Semetic, hate-mongers to Congress, America will be experiencing similar tactics. It is also the same hate-baiting that is occurring on a grander scale against anyone who disagrees with the Democratic Party leadership. This is like David's description of the Edomite in Psalm 52:2-3, "Your tongue devises mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You love evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness." Daily Devotion: God's Influencers - by Greg Laurie - www.harvest.org So faith comes from hearing that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.-Romans 10:17 It is worth noting that no person in the New Testament came to faith apart from the agency of a human being. Have you ever stopped and thought about that? We can find example after example in Scripture. There was the Ethiopian (see Acts 8:26-39). There are many ways that God could have reached this man from a distant country. He could have sent an angel to meet him. Instead, the Lord sent an angel to Philip and told him to go. So Philip went and proclaimed the gospel to that man, and he believed. Then there was the Philippian jailer (see Acts 16:27-34). God could have reached him in many ways. Instead, He allowed Paul and Silas to be incarcerated and to ultimately proclaim the gospel, bringing that man and his family to faith. We can think of Cornelius, a man who was searching for God (see Acts 10). An angel spoke to him and told him he needed to meet a man named Simon Peter. The angel explained where to find him. The angel could have given him the gospel. But God chose to use Simon Peter. What about Saul? While it is true that he was converted through an encounter with Christ on the Damascus Road, his conversion was sandwiched between experiences with two people who influenced him. First, it was the witness of Stephen that softened Saul's heart and made it receptive to the seed of the Word when he was confronted by Jesus Christ. Afterward, God sent Ananias to follow up on Saul and pray for him to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. So you see, God used people. And He wants to use you. FROM THE HEART
