Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. Luke 17:25-30 Many Christians who are interested in eschatology (the study of last things), often inquire of teachers and each other, as to when they should reasonably expect our Lord Jesus Christ to return for His bride, the Church. In regards to this question and by way of a disclaimer, I don't have or pretend to know a specific time or date. Jesus stated that 'no man would know the day or hour'. Nor do I have a specific window of time in mind for the Rapture...ie...Blood Moons, planetary alignments, Jewish holidays or key political events, because frankly our departure via the Rapture isn't necessarily linked to any of those things. So in regards to specifics, we shouldn't be dogmatic on the exact timing only that it happens prior to the beginning of the 70th Week. The Rapture could happen on a Blood Moon, or during Rosh Hashanah, or it may not. We only know that at a certain point the Church will have arrived at its specific number (known only to God), and that will be when it happens...in the twinkling of an eye. (Romans 11:25) But there is something interesting that I've come to think about recently that just struck me in a particularly new light today. I know I've talked about it before, (as have many others), but more often than not, we usually only consider it as either a contributing factor, or causation of some other sign, and not the main point. But consider this in regards to the opening passage from Luke 17 as Jesus gave three key markers on this: 1. Christ also being rejected also by this generation. (vs. 25) 2. The days surrounding the time of His return, would be like the days of Noah, in which, if we were to go back to that passage in Genesis 6, would reveal an overarching key indicator that I think is very much in play today, and a dead giveaway of our enemy's agenda. ...that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (vs. 5) for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. (vs. 11-12) 3. When referencing it, Jesus didn't mention the above points, but noted the normality of everything, implying that His return, would catch the world by surprise. ...they ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage... they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built... (vs. 27-28) Assessment Many well intentioned teachers and ministries seemingly get side-tracked by some of the more sensational aspects to Genesis 6 (Nephilim, giants, men of renown), but treat the above situation of 'widespread wickedness' only as an obvious side-effect of the angelic/genetic corruption that had been ongoing. Certainly, the fact that fallen angels were cohabitating with humans, warrants discussion, but if we were only looking at that as THE sign for the end of the age in our day, one would spend a great deal of time and energy focused on chasing inconclusive conspiracy theories. Granted, those Nephilim-esque conditions may return but most likely not before the Rapture of the Church. But here in Genesis 6:5, 11-12, there are two, bright-neon signs for the overall condition of the world, and that is, the intent of man's heart was only evil, and that all flesh had become corrupted, so much so, that God repented having made man. (vs. 6) The overarching problem at hand then, was that everything God had made in perfection (it was good), had now been tainted by sin and corruption. Satan tempted Adam and Eve into sinning, thus ushering in sin and death, but what the fallen angels did between then and the Flood, certainly expedited that corruption. But consider our day... We are now currently living in an age, where nothing is sacred. It is the 'mystery of iniquity' coming into full effect. Every institution, whether it be marriage, the family, technology, commerce, worship, sexuality, etc...everything is already, or is in the process of being corrupted. We are witnessing an all-out assault on everything that God considers good, and/or at least necessary for humanity to continue. Not only are the foundational pillars of our society being attacked, but people seemingly can't trust anything anymore. Every source has bias and everyone seemingly has an agenda. Those figures in the media who people had trusted for decades, have now proven every bit as corrupt as they people their supposed to be 'watchdogs' against. Coaches, priests, military leaders, politicians, ministries, charities, and every other sector and section, has gotten black eyes recently from the scandals surrounding them. People are questioning everything today...even the very common sense things that the most primitive of tribes going back millennia, don't have difficulties with. There are reportedly some 58 different sexual identities people are now claiming. Marriage has been redefined to mean only that it is ethically acceptable to marry what one loves (and one can hypothetically love anything, human or otherwise). Abortion has been redefined as a constitutional right, not murder. Euthanasia is now both a convenience and morally commendable. Nation states should be borderless. Islam is portrayed a religion of peace, while Christianity is portrayed as that of hate, violence, and bigotry. Every tragic event now turns into a conspiracy. The Earth being round is now a conspiracy. Criminals are the victims, and the victim's, criminal. Corruption, violence, globalism, greed, and pay-for-play politics are becoming the norm. Corrupt leaders are above the law, and the law's now are becoming solely aimed at stripping away freedoms from the individual. Common sense is being abandoned at a record pace, and political correctness is choking the very life out of a nation bound by its Constitution. Violence and murder is plaguing every major urban center, and this is all just in the United States, the supposed leader of the free world. But why is this significant? Because the US is currently at the top of the geo-economic-political-militaristic food chain. If the US goes morally astray, it has the potential to drag the whole world with it...and it is. What we are witnessing today is the world racing towards becoming only evil continually. No longer content with being that 'shining city on a hill', we are consenting as a nation to the reality that evil is now the new normal. But here's the rub... Satan KNOWS his time is running out and he is not pulling his punches anymore. It is full-throttled, pedal to the metal, highway to hell evil being rammed down everyone's throats. Even though the removal of the Church at the Rapture will certainly expedite the reality for all flesh becoming corrupted again (this happens with the 'mark of the beast'), God will still have His remnant. Meanwhile, the whole world is seemingly being turned on its head and readying itself to embrace this coming 'mark' and the beast system. Consider this; if we went back 100 years ago, would the issue of a man having the legal right to use a women's restroom, even remotely be an issue the US government would decide to waste its time with? No of course not. Any politician who would even support such a notion would have been thrown out of office and locked up in the loony bin. How about 50 years ago? 40 years ago? 20 years ago? No, no, and no. It's only been in the last ten years (or less) that evil has so gained a foothold in our culture and political mindset, that this even warrants discussion. It only warrants discussion because those who want to enforce it, have both completely lost their ability to reason and are the ones in control of the system. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. Matthew 24:12 In the Olivet Discourse, Jesus lays out the global problems growing exponentially in the last days, of note, is that lawlessness will cause people's hearts to 'wax' cold. Paul, Peter, James, and Jude also warned of this deteriorating condition on the earth as time wears on. The fact that things progressively move from bad to worse is the key indicator that time itself is drawing down. The fact that things have rapidly begun to deteriorate on a global scale, means the window for this age is closing very soon. Mankind has moved through various ages and stages throughout history. The Bronze Age. The Iron Age. The Dark Ages. The Age of Reason. The Industrial Age. Seeing as we are now living in the Age of Information, Satan has saved the best for last, and has begun reintroducing deception on a grand scale, to increasingly confuse an already confused generation. This, tied in with lawlessness, has caused man to be both blindingly ignorant, and obsessively skeptical about anything and everything to do with Christianity. This is why we find ourselves living in a generation which has by and large, rejected Christ's sacrificial work on the Cross as the only means' of salvation. We have entered into a new dark age, where truth is suppressed, reason has been outlawed, and ignorance applauded. Granted, this rejection is primarily in western societies where the Gospel has long been available...but the window is closing fast in other parts of the world. In the East, Far East, and Africa where atheistic and/or Islamic dictators and governments are in charge, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is finding the attacks against it ramped up to levels not seen since the days of the Roman Caesar's. But even still... ...this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matt. 24:14 Conclusion One thing I'm curious about, is why none of the disciples ever asked Jesus about life before the Flood? I know I would have been extremely curious about this had I been there. Part of me thinks that because either they weren't completely understanding the timing of the Kingdom (see Acts 1:6) and weren't all that concerned about what had happened thousands of years prior, or they already had a decent understanding of that time, thanks to the non-canonical books like Jasher and Enoch as well as the common knowledge taught by the Sanhedrin and others. So either they asked and it's not recorded for us, or they never asked...we simply don't know. We only know definitively on what Scripture itself portends to the issue. So I find it interesting that what Jesus had to say about those Antediluvian days, is so different from the Genesis accounts, either for Noah or Lot. The Genesis account records the earth was at breathtaking levels of evil and wickedness. While Jesus doesn't discount that, He adds that life will be normal...or at least have a sense of normality to it...assuming that the world has reached a point where evil is the new normal. We can reasonably deduce that since Jesus is God and was intimately aware of the conditions in Noah and Lot's day, that His description focused not on the sensational aspects of Noah's day (i.e...the Nephilim), or Lot's (rampant sexual deviancy), but on suddenness of judgment that will come, and the propensity for wickedness to spread and contaminate everything...so much so, that He asks the question He clearly already knew the answer too... And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" John 18:7-8 Even So, Maranatha!

"For the priest's lips should keep knowledge and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Hashem of hosts." Malachi 2:7 (The Israel Bible™) A significant step was recently taken towards reinstating the Temple service when the nascent Sanhedrin selected Rabbi Baruch Kahane as the next Kohen Gadol (high priest). The selection was made as a precaution for Yom Kippur. If the political conditions should change, allowing the Jews access to the Temple Mount, they will be required by Torah law to bring the sacrifices. Rabbi Kahane is confident that if that should happen, Temple service could begin in less than one week. Rabbi Kahane is a prominent scholar, knowledgeable in the complicated laws pertaining to the subject of the Temple Service. He is part of the Halacha Berurah Institute, established by Rabbi Avraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, the first Chief Rabbi of Israel, which deals with the elucidation of Jewish law from its Talmudic sources (Oral Law) and commentaries. He has played a prominent role in all the reenactments of the Temple services performed to date. This year has already seen much Temple-oriented activity: the Temple Institute has created a registry of kohanim; established a school for educating men of the priestly class in the details of the Temple service; and performed reenactments on all the holidays, including the especially significant Passover sacrifice. Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the nascent Sanhedrin, explained to Breaking Israel News the necessity for choosing a High Priest, even in the absence of a Temple. "We do not need a miraculous occurrence like the sudden appearance of a Temple descending from heaven onto the Temple Mount to make this decision relevant," explained Rabbi Weiss. "The only obstacle preventing the Temple service today is the political issue. If that should suddenly change, as it very well could, we would be required to begin the Temple service immediately. It is therefore necessary that we have a candidate prepared to fill the role of the High Priest, especially now that we have kohanim prepared to serve in the Temple." Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, founder and and head of the Temple Institute, is a member of the Sanhedrin but did not rule in this decision. He told Breaking Israel News that it was necessary for the Sanhedrin to choose a Kohen Gadol. "This is certainly something we should do now as religious Jews. Choosing a high priest and all of the preparations for the Temple Service are mitzvot (commandments) that are incumbent upon us according to the Torah," said Rabbi Ariel. "It is not a matter of opinion. It is written explicitly in the Torah and, just like any of the other mitzvot written in the Torah, we have to choose a Kohen Gadol, and make all the preparations, regardless of whether there is a Temple standing right now." Rabbi Kahane was reluctant to discuss the Sanhedrin's decision. "This may not be the time to choose a Kohen Gadol. There are no sacrifices required," he said to Breaking Israel News. However, he added, "That could change overnight. In any case, it is clear that we need to be prepared, to prepare the priests, to have everything ready." When asked how long it would take to begin sacrifices if it suddenly became permissible, he considered carefully before answering. "If the government decided to permit it, it would only take a few weeks to make preparations, even to do the Yom Kippur service," he said. "The structures can be temporary and prepared almost overnight. The biggest obstacle is educating the kohanim, which we are taking care of already. Once the priests are thoroughly educated, choosing a Kohen Gadol and teaching him what he needs to know for the Yom Kippur service is relatively simple and will take one week. The Temple Service performed by the Kohen Gadol is very demanding, but for an educated kohen, it is not overly difficult to learn to serve as the Kohen Gadol." Rabbi Weiss explained the importance of advancing Temple initiatives even when it seems that reinstituting the Temple service is not a matter of urgency. "There are many Torah laws that are not sacrifices or Temple service but are nonetheless dependant on the Temple and the kohanim. We recently reenacted the Omer Wave offering, which has ramifications for when Israel can eat the current wheat harvest. In addition, we also reenacted the giving of the shoulder, two cheeks, and stomach of an ox to the priests." And this shall be the Kohanim's due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the Kohen the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw. Deuteronomy 18:3 "This is not only part of a sacrifice, but is also an issue of kashrut (kosher laws), which we should be doing today," explained Rabbi Weiss. "Instead, it is treated in a rather shabby, symbolic manner." While it seems unlikely that the political climate could shift within a few weeks to the extent necessary for Jews to establish an altar and begin preparing sacrifices on the Mount in time for Yom Kippur, the world can rest assured that as the moment those changes should occur, the Jewish people are prepared.

Senior PLO official Wasel Abu Yousef told the Jordanian daily al-Ghad that the US had been informed of the PLO's "firm stance" for two requirements to be met before any meeting with the Israelis: a freeze of construction in the settlements and the release of the fourth batch of prisoners promised to the Palestinians during negotiations in 2014. A separate PLO official close to the negotiations department told The Times of Israel he hadn't heard of any such American proposal for a trilateral summit. A senior official in the Palestinian Authority President's office contacted by The Times of Israel also said he hadn't heard of the proposal. The PLO official close to the negotiations department, who wished to remain unnamed, said the US is trying to figure out something to bypass the French initiative, but said the Palestinian requirements for resumption of talks are still the same: a freeze on settlement construction and release of prisoners. Israeli officials say they are willing to hold talks, but rebuff Palestinian demands for preconditions. The Palestinians are currently focusing their efforts on the French peace initiative - a regional approach to bringing an end to the conflict and to create a clear time frame for the establishment of a Palestinian state. Jerusalem opposes Paris's plan and argues that only direct bilateral negotiations would be effective. On Sunday, the Israeli Haaretz daily reported that talks on peace negotiations had been hosted by Moscow, citing Palestinian officials. However, Ahmed Majdalani, a senior member of the Palestine Liberation Organization, said the Palestinian demands remain the same, indicating that little progress had been made. The Moscow talks were first brought up by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi last week, when he said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was willing to host Israeli and Palestinian leaders for direct talks. In July, it was reported that Egypt itself was seeking to host a trilateral meeting in Cairo. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has demanded that Egyptians force Israel to freeze settlement construction and release the fourth batch of prisoners before he would consent to attend the summit in Cairo. Abbas also demanded that Israel acquiesce to negotiations based on the pre-1967 lines and pledge ahead of time to implement any agreements reached in the talks. The PLO official close to the negotiations department denied earlier reports in the Israeli press that Abbas had relented on the requirements toward Israel in regards to the Cairo summit. Netanyahu in July reportedly told Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry - on a rare visit to Jerusalem - he would be willing to meet with Abbas in Cairo for talks hosted by Sissi. The Prime Minister's Office did not deny the report by the Saudi-owned, pan-Arab news outlet Al-Arabiya. It said in a statement that "whether the issue was discussed or not, Israel has always said it is prepared to conduct direct bilateral negotiations with no preconditions."

An all-out Turkish-Kurdish war has boiled over in northern Syria since the Turkish army crossed the border last Wednesday, Aug. 24 for the avowed aim of fighting the Islamic State and pushing the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia back. Instead of falling back, the Kurds went on the offensive and are taking a hammering. This raging confrontation has stalled the US-led coalition offensive against ISIS and put on indefinite hold any US plans for campaigns to drive the jihadists out of their Syrian and Iraqi capitals of Raqqa and Mosul. The Kurdish militia ground troops, who were backed by the US and assigned the star role in these campaigns, are now fully engaged in fighting Turkey. And, in another radical turnaround, Iraqi Kurdish leaders (of the Kurdish Regional Republic) have responded by welcoming Iran to their capital, in retaliation for the US decision to join forces with Turkey at the expense of Kurdish aspirations. The KRG's Peshmerga are moreover pitching in to fight with their Syrian brothers. Together, they plan to expel American presence and influence from both northern Syria and northern Iraq in response to what they perceive as a US sellout of the Kurds. debkafile's military analysts trace the evolving steps of this escalating complication of the Syrian war and its wider impact: Since cleansing Jarablus of ISIS, Turkey has thrown large, additional armored and air force into the battle against the 35.000-strong YPG Kurdish fighters. This is no longer just a sizeable military raid, as Ankara has claimed, but a full-fledged war operation. Turkish forces are continuing to advancing in three directions and by Sunday, Aug. 28 had struck 15-17km deep inside northern Syria across a 100km wide strip. Their targets are clearly defined: the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northwest Syria and the Kurdish enclave of Qamishli and Hassaka in the east, in order to block the merger of Kurdish enclaves into a contiguous Syrian Kurdish state. Another goal was Al-Bab north of and within range of Aleppo for a role in a major theater of the Syrian conflict. To reach Al-Bab, the Turkish force would have to fight its way through Kurdish-controlled territory. The Turks are also using a proxy to fight the Syrian Kurds. Thousands of Syrian Democratic Army (SDF) rebels, whom they trained and supplied to fight Syria's Bashar Assad army and the Islamic State, have been diverted to targeting the Kurds under the command of Turkish officers, to which Turkish elite forces are attached. A Turkish Engineering Corps combat unit is equipped for crossing the Euphrates River and heading east to push the Kurds further back. Contrary to reports, the Turkish have not yet crossed the river itself or pushed the Kurds back - only forded a small stream just east of Jarablus. The main Kurdish force is deployed to the south not the east of the former ISIS stronghold. Neither have Turkish-backed Syrian forces captured Manbij, the town 35km south of Jarablus which the Kurds with US support captured from ISIS earlier this month. Contrary to claims by Ankara's spokesmen, those forces are still only 10-15km on the road to Mabij. Sunday, heavy fighting raged around a cluster of Kurdish villages, Beir Khoussa and Amarneh, where the Turks were forced repeatedly to retreat under Kurdish counter attacks. Some of the villages were razed to the ground by the Turkish air force and tanks. At least 35 villagers were reported killed. In four days of fierce battles, the Kurds suffered 150 dead and the Turkish side, 60. debkafile military sources also report preparations Sunday to evacuate US Special Operations Forces and helicopter units from the Rmeilan air base near the Syrian-Kurdish town of Hassaka. If the fighting around the base intensifies, they will be relocated in northern Iraq. Fighters of the Iraqi-Kurdish Peshmerga were seen removing their uniforms and donning Syrian YPG gear before crossing the border Sunday and heading west to join their Syrian brothers in the battle against Turkey. The KRG President Masoud Barazani expects to travel to Tehran in the next few days with an SOS for Iranian help against the US and the Turks. On the table for a deal is permission from Irbil for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to win their first military bases in the Iraqi Kurdish republic, as well as transit for Iranian military forces to reach Syria through Kurdish territory..

The classification of diseases and causes of death has been around since the 1700s. The U.S. got involved in the 1920s. The World Health Organization (WHO) got involved in 1946 and that became part of the UN on April 7, 1948. ICD stands for International Classification of Diseases. E 978 is called the medical diagnosis code. It is an international classification for the cause of death. E stands for Execution (by legal means). The number "9" refers to the ninth revision of the code. The ninth revision was in effect from late 1975 to Sept. 30, 2015. E 978 means the deceased was legally executed and the cause of death was beheading or decapitation (probably by guillotine). WHO officials thought they needed the E-code groupings because several Muslim nations and terrorist groups behead people on a regular basis. ICD-10-CM E 978 means the International Classification of Diseases, the tenth revision of the Clinical Modification system, executed by beheading. This tenth revision replaced the ninth revision and it went into effect on Oct. 1, 2015. It is still in effect. This is the point: ICD 9 E 978 is now ICD-10-CM E 978. They are equivalent codes in a WHO international classification system. They mean the person was legally executed and it was probably on a guillotine. The WHO uses these codes to compile global statistics on causes of death. Different causes of death (beheaded, electrocuted, hanged, gas chamber, firing squad, etc.). have different E-code numbers. Guillotines are not used in the U.S. because each state (not the federal government) decides what form of execution the state wants to use. In 1996, Georgia State Representative Doug Teper introduced a bill to replace Georgia's electric chair with a guillotine. Mr. Teper argued that lethal injection and electrocution render the deceased's organs unsuitable for transplantation, but decapitation leaves the organs intact so they can be harvested for use in others. As far as I know, his bill was never voted on. But this is where it gets interesting. The Bible teaches that a world government is in mankind's future. The UN has voted to establish a world government by 2030 and the WHO will be an agency in that UN world government. The WHO keeps statistics on the cause of death, execution by beheading on a guillotine is an acceptable form of death (perhaps preferred for organ harvest), the Antichrist will rise to power over the UN world government, and he and his False Prophet will execute people by beheading (Rev. 20:4). The U.S. will be one of the members of the coming world government. There are reports that Pres. Obama and the Dept. of Homeland Security are already calling for the U.S. to use the WHO international classification system. But regardless of how that comes out, the U.S. will be required to go by the UN rules when the world government is established. Furthermore, the Antichrist and his False Prophet will execute millions of people. Many guillotines will be needed because the world already considers that to be an acceptable way to execute people. And for years there have been reports and pictures on the Internet of coffins and guillotines at FEMA camps in the U.S. Some reports say the U.S. has already purchased and stored as many as 30,000 guillotines. Finally, the Pre-Trib Rapture means the church won't be here when the Antichrist and his false prophet start beheading millions. But the fact that a world government is on the way and the UN WHO already has an E-code to classify legally beheaded people are more signs that the Rapture is getting close. My Review of "Rapture Ready...Or Not?" Over the last 35 years, I have literally read hundreds of books on Bible Prophecy and End Time signs. I especially enjoy books on the Rapture, and I have read almost every Rapture-related book published. In all those years, devouring thousands of pages, and millions of words, I have not read a better book on the Rapture than, Rapture Ready...Or Not? Terry James might be physically blind, but he is spiritually sharp and well discerning beyond most authors. In "Rapture Ready...Or Not?" At the end of last week, I discussed the fact that more Americans than ever before appear to be turning away from the Christian faith, and this is particularly true among our young people. And while it is undeniable that atheism and agnosticism are both growing rapidly, it is also important to point out that other faiths are on the rise in the western world at the exact same time that Christianity is shrinking. If you are a Christian, what you are about to read should concern you greatly. Let's start with witchcraft. It has been estimated that Wicca (one very popular form of witchcraft) is now the fastest growing faith in America. Books and movies featuring Harry Potter and others that use "magic" for good have fueled a tremendous amount of interest in the dark arts these days. Just consider the following excerpt from a Salon article that was published earlier this month... Stores specializing in metaphysical sundries (think ritual candles, blended oils, sacred herbs) like Spellbound Sky and House of Intuition in Los Angeles, while not brand-new, are suddenly crowded. In Brooklyn, Witches of Bushwick has evolved from a venue on the underground party circuit to a social collective that celebrates witchcraft as a feminist art and collaborates with fashion companies like Chromat. Of course, for those who prefer whipping up potions at home, several new witch- and occult-themed subscription boxes deliver the magical arts to the doorstep. And social media has enabled young people interested in magic to connect with one another in a way that we have never seen before. Here is more from Salon... Check social media: A search for #witch on Instagram yields about 2,375,000 posts - whereas one for #kardashian scores only 1,630,000. Search next time at a boutique: Tarot decks are coming back in high style, thanks to retailers like the Wild Unknown - its artful cards are in stores across the country, from upscale meccas like ABC Home in New York City to indie hot spots like Skylark in Venice Beach, California. K-Hole was right, "mysticore" is the new norm. Yes, there are still many more Christians than witches in America. But the ranks of those that are into the occult are growing very quickly - especially among our young people - and in many churches on Sunday morning you will be fortunate to find even a handful of young adults. Meanwhile, Islam is on the rise in the western world as well. Much of this is due to immigration, and new mosques are springing up all over the United States and Europe. As Islam gains ground, there has been a concerted effort in some quarters to bring Christianity and Islam together. This movement has become known as "Chrislam", and in recent years we have seen some things that many of us never imagined that we would ever see in the Christian world. For example, earlier this year the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA was opened with a prayer offered to Allah... "Allah bless us and bless our families and bless our Lord. Lead us on the straight path - the path of all prophets: Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad." These were the words that rang out over the congregation at The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, USA meeting in Portland, Oregon. Wajidi Said, co-founder of the Muslim Education Trust, led the attendees in the prayer to the Islamic deity, a move arranged by the Ecumenical and Interfaith ministry staff at the assembly. The prayer was part of the "first order of business" during the meeting's opening session, a time dedicated to praying for those affected by the Orlando shooting that occurred just weeks before. And of course the Presbyterian Church USA is far from alone. As I have documented, Pope Francis has stated that Christians and Muslims both "worship the one God", and in 2014 he authorized Islamic prayers and readings from the Quran at the Vatican for the first time ever. But despite such efforts to "bring Christians and Muslims together", the truth is that Islamic terrorists continue to slaughter Christians on a continual basis all over the planet. The most recent attack on a church took place in Indonesia on Sunday... An ISIS suicide bomber today attacked a Catholic priest with an axe as he tried to blow up hundreds of worshippers at a church during Sunday Mass. Priest Albert Pandiangan, 60, was holding the holy ceremony at the altar when the 18-year-old fanatic rushed towards him with a backpack bomb and tried to blow himself up. But the bomb burned without setting off the explosives, so the jihadi pulled an axe from his bag and slashed the priest's arm at St Yoseph Church in Medan, the capital of North Sumatra in Indonesia. So far there have been well over 1000 Islamic terror attacks in 2016, and ISIS appears to have a renewed emphasis on attacking churches and Christians wherever they can find them. Without a doubt, we are also witnessing a huge increase in the number of atheists and agnostics in the western world. Europe is much farther along than the United States is in this regard, and many areas of the continent are rightly regarded to be "post-Christian" at this point. In the UK, the Christian faith has declined so dramatically that now we are seeing the rise of "humanist chaplains" that don't hold to any sort of faith at all... With participation in traditional faiths at near-record lows, Britain is seeing the rise of humanist chaplains providing "pastoral" support for the non-religious. Last month the University of Westminster in London broke new ground by appointing its first official secular advisor for students. The move followed efforts by the British Humanist Association since 2014 to train more than 100 volunteers to go into schools, hospitals and prisons in order to provide support for those who don't believe in a deity. Fortunately, things are much different in much of the rest of the world. In fact, the Christian faith is currently experiencing explosive growth in China, India, South America and many portions of Africa. But in the United States and Europe people are leaving the faith of their forefathers in astounding numbers, and that spiritual void is often being filled by other faiths such as witchcraft and Islam. So what does this mean for the future of our society?

AFP reports that Iran has deployed Russian-supplied S-300 missiles around its nuclear plant near Qom. The system is aimed at the sky to protect the plant from attack. This comes after the revelation that pallets of Euros, Swiss Francs and other currencies totaling some $400 million were delivered by plane to Iran after the current US "president" negotiated a nuclear deal with the terrorist state. The money was ransom paid to Iran for the release of hostages the terrorist-sponsoring nation was holding during the negotiations. While the White House said there was nothing unusual with the ransom, historians are now saying it is unprecedented. The US cash likely made the Russian missile purchase possible. It has been speculated for decades that Russia is part of the Biblical end time battle found in Ezekiel 38 and 39, but there is no mention of the country in scripture. Ezekiel 38:2-3 says, "Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal." This prophecy contains only current Islamic-Arab nations as located on modern maps: Magog (Turkey), Meshek (Turkey), Tubal (Turkey), Gomer (Turkey), Togarmah (Turkey), Persia (Iran), Ethiopia/Cush (Sudan), Libya/Put (Libya), Sheba (Egypt and Saudi Arabia), and Dedan (Saudi Arabia). The United States of America is also not mentioned in the Bible. We know, however, just as Russia has played an anti-Israel role in history, America, until the past decade, has played a positive role in history toward Israel. That changed when President George W Bush politically forced Israel to abandon Gaza to the Palestinian Authority and removed Jewish settlers from their land. But the current "president" has placed America at odds with Israel by assisting the Muslim Brotherhood with Arab Spring, negotiating with the terrorist state of Iran and propping up its nuclear agenda, and many other numerous policy shifts that elevated radical Islam over the only democratic free state in the Middle East-Israel. Zechariah 12:3 says, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." While we may not be able to stop the march of prophecy, we can determine our place in it. As a nation that will also be judged, Americans need to be just as worried as Russians about where their leaders are placing them in Biblical prophecy. Jesus said in Matthew 25:32, "And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats." These nations will be judged based on how they treated the least of his brethren.

www.harvest.org "And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God's word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest." -Luke 8:15 Once when I was on a flight returning to California, the captain announced he would have to make an emergency landing. The flight attendants went through the protocol, and I listened carefully. As we went into our descent, we were told to lean forward, grab our legs, and get ready. Thankfully we landed safely, and everything was okay. When your life depends on something, you listen. That is how we should be as we listen to God's Word. In the parable of the sower, Jesus talked about seeds that fell on good ground: "honest, good-hearted people who hear God's word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest" (Luke 8:15). These are what I call fruitful hearers. Having heard God's Word, they keep it. One key is how we listen. It is not just hearing the Word of God; it is keeping it. It is no light thing to constantly hear the Scriptures preached and taught. Jesus said in Luke 12:48, "When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required." It is a great thing to read through the Bible. It is a great thing to read chapters of the Bible. But I would rather read eight verses with comprehension than eight chapters without it. Psalm 1 talks about those who "delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night." The word meditate means "to chew, to contemplate." Those who hear God's Word are made more responsible than those who did not hear. God expects us to act on what we have heard. God expects us to obey His Word, not just hear it. Good ground is made that way by the work of the Gardener and by our cooperation.
