https://www.raptureready.com/2020/09/07/rapturous-by-jerry-mcdermott/ Considering the worldwide fear that the virus is creating, it is no wonder people are searching the Bible for answers. The major question is whether the reality of the current pestilence/virus is really as Jesus indicated in the birth pangs. The simple response is that a pestilence is mentioned for the End Times (Matthew 24:7). Once you start a deeper search within the scriptures, it is difficult to not believe we are the final generation leading to the Rapture of the Church and, later, the horrors of the Tribulation. However, you will soon realize that, as a believer, you will neither be present for the actions of the Anti-Christ nor the Wrath of God that is meant for the unbelievers. "For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:9). The Body of Christ, the Christian church believers, will be instantly changed and brought to Jesus who will be waiting in the clouds, and then they will be taken to the heavenly kingdom. Our Lord prophesied that He was preparing a place for us in heaven, that we might be with Him (John 14:3). John also told us that we will be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is (1 John 3:2). Therefore, as we receive our glorified body, we will see Jesus in a similar glorified body. This wonderful gift is called the Rapture of the Church. Once you realize heaven could be so near, curiosity rises, and you may wonder whether scripture gives any preview of what it will be like. Our Lord, again, shows his love for His people by the Holy Spirit by revealing particulars that will answer our quest. There are so many indications, so let's start. We will begin with Jesus being transported as our first example. After His temptations by Satan, scripture states, "Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee and His reputation spread throughout the region" (Luke 4:14). The other major example involves Phillip who joined the other apostles in Jerusalem after conversion experiences in Samaria. An angel gave Phillip directions that he was to take the desert route to Gaza. On the way, he came across a carriage with a eunuch court official. The Spirit told Phillip to catch up with the carriage, as the man was having trouble understanding scripture. Phillip's explanations were so realistic that a baptism resulted. As they came out of the water, Phillip was snatched away by the Holy Spirit to Azotus (North of Gaza along the coast), eventually reaching Caesarea. For this gift, a new body is not required. The travel is instantaneous. It is like the rapture change, which is described as the Twinkling of an Eye. You are here and suddenly you are there as the Holy Spirit has subjugated gravity, time, and distance. Also, there is no feeling of motion. Perhaps the sacred scriptures' examples of being transported were the origin of "Beam me up, Scottie" in the Star Trek series. Before examining the next example, we need to reaffirm our belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that "Nothing is impossible with God" (Luke 1:37). The apostle John related the time the disciples left Tiberias, heading toward Capernaum, via boat. They rowed about halfway (approx. 3.5 miles), but the journey was becoming difficult due to the strong winds and rough sea. Suddenly, they saw Jesus walking on the water. Approaching the boat, Jesus said, "It is I; do not be afraid" (John 6:16-21). They wanted to have Jesus come in the boat, but suddenly they and the boat reached the other shore. Moving on to the Rapture, before joining Jesus in the clouds, a spiritual body is necessary. One such body is an incorruptible immaterial body, as the resurrected Jesus Christ experienced. Paul certainly knows how to get our attention when he says he is going to reveal a mystery (1 Corinthians 15:51), as he indicates that the dead will be the first to receive a new body, followed by extant believers in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Here's a thought. Have you ever considered that our parents and so many others in heaven do not have a body? After their demise, like thousands of others, their spirit joined Jesus in heaven but without any body, which will be given at the time of the earthy rapture. That is why Paul indicated the dead with corruptible bodies would be the first to receive incorruptible bodies. Have there been any examples of being raptured in sacred scripture? Yes. The first book of the Bible, Genesis 5, lists the first rapture. It was the prophet Enoch who walked with God, did not die, and was lifted to heaven. In 2 Kings 2:11-12, we are treated to an incredible sight as Elijah was lifted to heaven in a fiery chariot with fiery horses in a whirlwind. Too bad he didn't have an opportunity to race Ben Hur. Other notable examples were Isaiah, Paul and the Apostle, and John, who visited heaven but returned to earth in their normal bodies. Paul reminded us that, "There are in the end three things that last: faith, hope, and love" (1 Corinthians 13:13). In heaven, there is no need for faith and hope, as it has been fully consummated in Jesus whose love is evident everywhere in heaven. Here's a verse that came to me, to the tune of "Unforgettable" by Nate King Cole: Incorruptible, that I shall be Incorruptible, you so can be Incorruptible, accept Jesus and see Incorruptible, as free as can be. Why not join me and sing this prophetic word, as scripture confirms a new heavenly body: "Just as we resemble the man from earth, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven" (1 Corinthians 15:49). "The body is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption" (1 Corinthians 15:42). "He will give a new form to this lowly body of ours and remake it according to the pattern of His glorified body by His power to subject everything to Himself" (Philippians 3:21). Though he is taken away from the presence of evil, the just man enters into peace (Isaiah 57:1). Remember the scripture where the risen Jesus suddenly appeared to the apostles and disciples in a room. That was also the gift of being transported. Aren't you curious what it feels like to walk through a door or a wall (Luke 24:36)? We have mentioned the Rapture, so let's take a closer look. It is one of the pivotal happenings in the world's history, as it is the end of the Church Age. This era began with Pentecost and extended to these thousand years. One of the consistent concerns of some Christians is how they will survive the Tribulation. Such fear is evidence of scriptural ignorance. Biblical followers know they won't have any problem during the Tribulation with the wrath of God, as the church won't be here. The church of believers and the restraining power of the Holy Spirit will be snatched away in the Rapture, which happens before the Tribulation. When I limit this to believers, I mean those who have accepted Jesus as Savior and redeemer and have changed their lifestyle. Knowing about the Bible, Jesus, or even going to church will not necessarily credit you as being saved. As for the rapture of the Church, scripture scholars or readers will immediately refer us to Elijah and Enoch, but maybe they have never considered that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was clearly a rapture. You might have said, "What in blazes is going on?" during the biological warfare/pandemic starting in 2020. That was political, whereas the Rapture is a heavenly reward for believing Christians. If you are not raptured, you may say that again, as you wonder why some people, calling themselves Christians, were not in the Rapture which took millions away to heaven. That is because that may have been only a claim and not a reality. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ. Some folks are church goers but have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. That is the difference. The world will change due to the Rapture of the church. The work force will be substantially lessened, and the business world will be up for grabs at the end of the Church Age, as the restraining power of the Holy Spirit also does not remain. There might be rumors that the disappearance of Christians was due to an alien invasion. There are aliens all right, but not from some planet or anywhere else. They are demonic beings from their habitation in the second heaven. Scripture explains that we wrestle against these demonic beings in heavenly places. As predicted throughout the Bible, it was finally time for Christ to call His followers home. The Christian disappearances will be due to the calling of Christ to meet Him in the clouds. Without the steadying hand of the Holy Spirit, the fractured world will look for a leader to solidify the world's business and religion. His name is the Anti-Christ with a prophetic helper. Far from establishing peace, this ruler is led directly by Satan and will conquer the world with one third to one fourth of the world's people being killed, as he proclaims himself as God. Soon after, the one true God will release His angels with His wrath upon the world for not accepting His Son and deliverance from the world system. If you are still alive after the Tribulation, you will certainly, again, wonder what in blazes is going on? You will shortly know, as a judgment separating the sheep and the goats will take place. This is also known as the judgment of the nations, which separates believers (sheep) and unbelievers (goats) to their eternal destinies (Matthew 25:46). Everyone would be wise to read the book of Revelation, which details the Tribulation and the next one thousand years, before the glory with our Lord. Continuing the tradition, the inspired scriptures always have additional details for our questions. Jesus Himself describes what will happen to people who are not in the Rapture: "For then there will be great tribulation such has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be" (Matthew 24:21). As you picture the horrors, pray for the gift of faith for you to discover Jesus Christ, become a Christian before the Rapture, and guarantee your participation. Salvation is a gift by the heavenly Father who gave His son, Jesus, to die for us and forgive all our sins (John 3:16). [email protected] Turkey's 'Filthy War' Against Syria, Libya - by Khaled Abu Toameh - https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/16466/turkey-war-syria-libya Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is committing "horrific violations" against civilians in northern Syria, according to a report in the Abu Dhabi-based newspaper Al-Roeya on August 30. As a result of these violations, a million civilians living in the area, parts of which are controlled by Turkey, are facing "an unprecedented humanitarian crisis." Arab political analysts and human rights advocates who spoke to Al-Roeya said that the Turkish regime, about a month ago, cut off the water supply to the residents of the region, where the temperature in August easily reaches more than 39° Celsius (103° Fahrenheit). It is a move, they said, that "amounts to crimes against humanity." They called for launching an international investigation into Erdogan's violations and "crimes." Syrian political activists said that Erdogan's "filthy war" comes as a punishment for the residents of the city because they live under the administration of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which Ankara considers its enemy. According to Hawar News Agency (headquartered in Al-Hasakah, Syria), the Turkish authorities have been in control of the areas of Ras Al-Ayn and Tell Abyad since last October. The area includes the Alouk water station, which used to supply the city of Al-Hasakah and its environs with water. Since the occupation of Ras Al-Ayn, the Turkish authorities have stopped pumping water from the Alouk station eight times, depriving more than a million people of water and threatening a humanitarian catastrophe there, especially in wake of the outbreak of the coronavirus. Syrian lawyer and human rights activist Khaled Ibrahim said that cutting water to nearly a million people in the city of Al-Hasakah comes as a continuation of Ankara's hostile policies in northeastern Syria. Ibrahim pointed out that the coronavirus pandemic requires hygiene measures to prevent it from spreading. "The civilians are being punished by Turkey, which is fighting the aspirations of the Syrian people and committing war crimes against humanity," he said. Human rights activists in the region, Ibrahim added, have been documenting Turkish crimes against civilians in order to hold the Turkish authorities to account for their crimes. Political analyst Mayyar Shehadeh said that Turkey is "pouring gasoline on the fire and exploiting the state of weakness in the Middle East to extend its influence." Shehadeh added that the Erdogan regime is trying to "flirt with the Sunni Muslims in the region to have them submit to its control and use them in the war against the Shiites and the Kurds." He pointed out that although the European Union has objected to Erdogan's "provocations", it has not taken any effective action to stop him from pursuing his violations against the civilians in northern Syria. Egyptian lawyer and human rights expert Saeed Abdel Hafez said that the occupying Turkish authorities "continue to blackmail about a million citizens (of Al-Hasakah) by cutting off the water supply -- a crime against humanity that requires an urgent investigation by the United Nations bodies to protect civilians." Another report in the pan-Arab newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi about the situation along the Turkey-Syria border revealed that Turkish troops in recent years have killed 464 Syrian civilians, including 59 women and 87 children under the age of 18. "Ankara has switched from a pledge to return the Syrians to their country to the shooting of any Syrian trying to approach the border separation wall between Turkey and Syria," according to the report. "In recent months, incidents of violations, including beatings, insults, and racial discrimination, outside the framework of the law and international treaties on the rights of the displaced, have increased almost daily... The Syrians are subjected to beating and insults, and at the end of their detention period they are deported to Syria, with the revocation of temporary protection cards for refugees." The report also revealed that Syrian refugees held in Turkish detention centers do not get any meal within two days of their detention and are forced to drink water from bathrooms. "Prison guards take turns insulting the detainees as they enter the prison. The detainees are beaten for trivial reasons, such as looking at the guards. In addition, there are recurring reports that the Turkish soldiers steal the belongings and money of the displaced Syrians caught at the border." Erdogan's human rights violations against Syrian civilians come amid increased indications that Turkey is stepping up its involvement in the civil war in Libya. According to some reports, Erdogan continues to assist "mercenaries" and Syrian militiamen heading to Libya to participate in the fighting between the warring parties there. Ankara deliberately attracted elements from the Syrian border into Turkish territory and then to Libya to fight alongside the militia of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Maj. Gen. Ahmad Al-Mismari, spokesman of the Libyan National Army (which is fighting against the Turkish-backed GNA), said last week that the Turkish armed forces are using four military bases in Libya: "Turkey has both air and naval bases in Misrata. One of the largest naval military bases in Libya-Khoms - is also under control of Turkey, as well as the Al-Watiya airbase, where the Turkish air forces are deployed with its personnel and equipment." In July, Al-Mismari disclosed that Turkey was also involved in smuggling mercenaries from Libya to Europe, specifically Italy. "There are about a thousand Syrians who fled via Zuwara and Sabratha towards Europe," he said. He warned Europe against the escalation of illegal immigration across the Mediterranean, and indicated that this migration may not be innocent: there may be terrorist elements among them that cause unrest in Europe. Recently, Al-Mismari accused Erdogan of "exploiting the poverty of some Syrian youths" to recruit them as mercenaries in the civil war in Libya. On September 5, Egyptian journalist Mohammed Musa revealed that intelligence reports suggest that Erdogan is involved with the Islamic terror group Al-Qaeda "as part of a scheme to destroy the region and control its resources." Intelligence documents obtained by Musa showed that Erdogan was in contact with the Al-Qaeda-linked Ben Ali terror group, headed by Abdel Azim Musa Ben Ali. After the announcement of the normalization agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Erdogan threatened to pull back his ambassador from Abu Dhabi in protest of the deal. "The move against Palestine is not a step that can be stomached," Erdogan said. The thirst-ravaged Syrian civilians near the border with Turkey and the victims of the civil war in Libya, however, do not seem to be worried about the Israel-UAE deal. Erdogan's victims want to see him held to account for his crimes against innocent civilians. According to Costas Mavrides, a Cypriot member of the European Parliament and committee chair at The Union for the Mediterranean: "In modern neo-Ottoman Turkey, government officials, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ministers, make statements with complete contempt for international and European Union law while dissenting voices are silenced or persecuted... The spirit of conquest is dominant in the modern Turkish political scene and their regional interventions. Rooted in the Ottoman 'law of the sword' - or the idea that the conqueror can rule a conquered country or territory according to his desires - Turkey has returned to its Ottoman ambitions." Nearing Midnight: The "Sudden Destruction" Prophetic Reference - Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ It seems that every interview I've heard lately contains words along the lines of: "We just want peace in our neighborhood/city. We want to be safe when we go from our homes. We want security that is afforded by the police-not chaos and danger to our family, to our children." The cry for "peace and safety" at this present hour might not be the same as we've traditionally thought as being centered around potential Mideast war threats or even world peace. The term has nonetheless leaped to the forefront of life in America (I realize I'm perhaps being too America-centric again in my analysis). However, it's most relevant to examine in prophetic terms considering the many significant signs of these last days that have converged and are proliferating. Each news cycle brings about worries as expressed in interviews with those who have just experienced threats from Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other violent anarchist organizations. Some of the threats are terrifying. A number of such interviews came following the wrap-up of the Republican National Convention August 27. Many people, when they were leaving the White House grounds that evening after President Trump's acceptance speech as his party's nominee for president, were threatened by large mobs of rioters. Senator Rand Paul, for instance, told in several interviews how he, his wife, and a couple of friends were all but physically assaulted. As I understand, Paul has even begun legal movement to get the FBI involved in going after those who hurled the nastiest kind of invective-threats to kill-at himself and those with him. Another Fox News pundit-a former police officer and secret service agent-said that he and his wife were also verbally assaulted and threatened when they left the grounds following the speech. The mob threatened to rape and kill them, according to the officer, as well as to do the same to others who were leaving at the same time. Yet another man told in a studio interview that he and his neighborhood had to face-down a mob of threatening anarchists who shouted that they were out of the cities and now were intent on destroying "your communities and places you live." He called for increased "security" in the suburbs now, because the rioters promise to "disturb the peace" at every opportunity. There is a call for "peace and safety" unlike at any time that I've known in the nation. As I mentioned previously, with the converging signals that this generation is nearing the end of the age, the cry almost certainly has dramatic prophetic overtones. I have no doubt that it is crucial to consider it as a key indicator of just how near we are to the end of this Church Age (Age of Grace). As the title of this piece implies, we're considering the time of "sudden destruction" that God's prophetic Word indicates will mark the dénouement of this dispensation. Let's look at two key prophetic Scripture passages that explain my point. The first is the apostle Paul's warning in his letter to the Thessalonians: For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:2-3) Recently, we posted my article, "Thief in the Night," which, of course, is a reference to the Rapture of the Church. The "day of the Lord" comes with the disappearance of those millions of believers. The Church Age or Age of Grace ends and the Day of the Lord begins, and prophecy unfolds all the way to the end of this period, which reaches its consummation with the remaking of the heavens and the earth following the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. The "thief-in-the-night" break-in upon the generation living on earth comes while there is a call for "peace and safety." Paul says that when this happens, "sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." The apostle distinguishes between "we and us" and "them and they" to specify the saved from the lost (those who will be left behind at the Rapture). The pronoun "them," in this case, refers to those who don't know Christ for salvation. Those left behind will, Paul warns, face "sudden destruction," and they won't be able to escape it, as those who were taken in the Rapture. The second passage we'll examine validates what Paul has just written, I'm convinced. They are the words of the Lord Jesus Christ, Himself: Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17: 28-30) Jesus, like Paul, said that it will be just like the time when Lot was taken out of Sodom to safety. Judgment followed that very day. "Sudden destruction" will occur when He is next revealed, and that will be at the Rapture. A key indicator prevalent at that time of Christ's call to His church, according to Paul, will be a great cry among earth dwellers for "peace and safety." DHS Issues Warning Over 'Potential EMP Attack' As Presidential Election Nears - Tyler Durden - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=4273 The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a new report warning about a "potential" electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack against the U.S. DHS's warning published Thur. (Sept. 3), with under 60 days until the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 3, indicates there are "evolving threats against the American homeland, most recently highlighting efforts to combat an Electromagnetic Pulse attack which could disrupt the electrical grid and potentially damage electronics." The department released an EMP status report via the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) that said the "key actions to address known EMP-related vulnerabilities to critical infrastructure." CISA said an EMP attack could "disrupt, degrade, and damage technology" embedded in critical infrastructure systems. Widespread blackouts could be seen if an EMP was to damage the nation's electrical grid, resulting in additional flare-ups of socio-economic turmoil. "EMP attacks are part of the emerging threats against our nation and demand a response," said Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli. "That is why DHS is taking these contingencies very seriously, working diligently to mitigate our risks and equipping our state and local partners with the resources they need to do the same. We've made significant progress and look forward to work ahead," Cuccinelli said. CISA Director Chris Krebs said top priorities of the agency is to mitigate threats associated with EMPs: "Over the past year, we have worked with interagency and industry partners to identify the footprint and effects of EMP threats across our National Critical Functions, and are developing sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective approaches to improving the Nation's resilience to EMPs," Krebs said. To combat these emerging threats, President Trump signed an executive order in March 2019, delegating power to the White House for EMP preparedness. We recently quoted Peter Vincent Pry, ex-chief of staff of the Congressional EMP Commission, who wrote an op-ed that said the virus pandemic from China has "exposed dangerous weaknesses in U.S. planning and preparation for civil defense protection and recovery, and those weaknesses surely have been noticed by our potential enemies: China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and international terrorists." Pry warned that "China has been planning to defeat the U.S. with an EMP and cyber 'Pearl Harbor' attack for a quarter-century." DHS nor CISA gave any more information on 'evolving EMP threats' on the American homeland. There was not mention of whether the threat could be from a solar storm or EMP weapons. However, the EMP status report did mention DHS is currently running EMP pilot tests to assess EMP vulnerability on infrastructure: Finally, DHS is partnering with other federal departments and agencies, state, local, tribal, and territorial entities and the private sector to field test a more resilient critical infrastructure. There are a number of field demonstration (or pilot) projects planned and underway by both DHS and DOE to assess EMP vulnerability and then deploy, evaluate, and validate EMP mitigation and protection technologies. One such pilot is the San Antonio Electromagnetic Defense Initiative, designed to show how an entire region can become resilient against an EMP. These pilots are multisector, multifunction efforts, seeking to ensure key capabilities continue to function in a post EMP environment and that by maintaining those key functions we can expedite a full recovery. Working with federal interagency partners, DHS will play a major role in ensuring communications systems remain operational and, by ensuring key systems which are protected against EMP, are also protected against other threats such as cyber-attacks. - EMP status report One EMP-expert and friend-of-the-site summed up the report perfectly: We recognize the threat and we're working on it and you don't need to know any more than that, thank you for asking... The warning comes with just under two months to go before the U.S. presidential election... Daily Jot: The principalities and politics of revolution - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com A Princeton study aimed at showing that the vast majority of protests across America are peaceful actually confirmed that 96% of major urban areas experienced violence and rioting. The report concludes: "Peaceful protests are reported in over 2,400 distinct locations around the country. Violent demonstrations, meanwhile, have been limited to fewer than 220 locations under 10% of the areas that experienced peaceful protests." The report downplays the violence and insinuates President Trump, politics and mischaracterization by the media as reasons Americans believe the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement is violent. It also characterizes the government response as both "violent" and "militarized." The Princeton study, however, says that actors not associated with the BLM movement such as Antifa and the Ku Klux Klan, are becoming more involved in violent "protests." The study, while extremely biased against Trump, relies on media outlets such as the Washington Post, New York Times, Al Jazeera, Atlantic, Vox, CNN, USA Today, and Bloomberg for its documentation. The report indicates, however, that 48 of the 50 major US cities suffered riots during the May-August time period. It places blame for the violence predominantly on the government and non-state actors, primarily hate groups associated with supporting Trump. The report essentially gives a pass to the Black Lives Matter Organization and Antifa. Antifa reportedly unofficially and with plausible deniability works in collaboration with the ex-"president's" Organizing for Action, which in 2017 boasted a following of protesters some 30,000 strong with 250 offices across the country. OFA, now "rebranded" as an anti-gerrymandering organization called All on the Line, was set up as the ex "president's" non-profit to signal protests across the country. On June 3, the San Diego Union Tribune reported that the "ex-president," while participating in an online round-table event from his Washington, DC home, said, "For those who have been talking about protest, just remember that this country was founded on protest - it is called the American Revolution." A week after these remarks, Antifa moved on Seattle and took control of an area called the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). Breitbart and Fox News reported the armed takeover, while CNN and the New York Times refuted the reports, siding with the Mayor and City Council, calling the takeover "part street festival, part commune." These reports were propaganda. Violence has been focused on cities run by Democratic Mayors who support defunding the police, ordering them to stand down, and refusing federal assistance to calm the violence. This all appears to confirm the 2017 reports of protest readiness facilitated by the Democratic Party as signaled by the former president, and the role of Antifa. As Christ says in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." The principalities and politics of revolution are in full swing. More than 400 young people entered full-time Christian service through the impact of her life, including Bill Bright and Billy Graham. You may not be a Billy Graham, but you could be a Henrietta Mears. A little light goes a long way. One life can make a difference.
