Pastor Greg Laurie points out people no longer mock 'mark of the beast' scenario History, as we know it today, will end where it basically began - not on the battlefields of the United States or Asia or Europe, but in Israel. The final battle that will be fought between the nations of the world will take place in Israel. This battle will rage around one city, where more wars have been fought than any other on earth: Jerusalem. Its very name, ironically, means "city of peace." Known as the Battle of Armageddon, it will bring to a conclusion the horrible time known as the Great Tribulation period. And it's all going to come down in the Middle East. During the Gulf War, I happened to be teaching through the book of Revelation at the church where I pastor. This fascinated a few members of the media, who came to the church to do stories about it. The question I was asked repeatedly was, "Is this Armageddon?" I told them, "No, but it could be a dress rehearsal." Watching how quickly the events unfolded in the Middle East shows us how quickly the last day's events God describes actually will begin to happen. In my understanding of Bible prophecy, the next event on the prophetic calendar is the rapture of the church, that time when the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and Christians will be caught up to be with him in the air. Then the Antichrist will come onto the scene. Initially, the Antichrist will be a great man of peace. Not only will he bring a peaceful solution to the constantly troubled Middle East, but he also will bring global peace. And what is the cry we hear from the nations of the world today? It is a cry for peace. We want wars to stop. The Antichrist will do what no one else has ever been able to do: he will endear himself to do the Jewish people by helping them rebuild their long-awaited temple. He will be so popular that some even will hail him as the very messiah. He also will introduce a system of buying and selling, no doubt through digital technology. Revelation 13, speaking of this cashless society the Antichrist will inaugurate, says, "He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name" (verses 16-17 NKJV). People once mocked the Bible because of that statement, downplaying it as futuristic nonsense. They would say, "How could anyone possibly function in a cashless society? How could anyone keep track of everyone else?" Well, they aren't mocking anymore. The Antichrist will utilize this technology for his own gain. No one will be able to buy or sell without his mark. But the problem is he will be more than a bad man; he will be Satan's man. If the devil ever had a son, this will be him. The Bible also tells us that in the last days "many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase" (Daniel 12:4 NKJV). People are constantly busy and moving around so quickly today. You can cross the Atlantic Ocean in a matter of hours. You can solve complex mathematical equations in milliseconds. You can send messages around the world at the speed of light. Imagine just 100 years ago how far-fetched it would have seemed if you had said, "Within 60 years, man will walk on the moon." But in 1969, that's what Neil Armstrong did. Now it's old news. Knowledge has increased, we are running "to and fro" like never before, and we continue making leaps in this technology. But in case you have been hoping for a wonderful utopia that mankind will build, I have some bad news for you. The Bible also says, "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand" (Daniel 12:10 NKJV). It seems as though we go from bad to worse. It was always the hope that we would do away with wars and have global peace, but we haven't come any closer to world peace. In fact, we're farther from it. In a 1948 Armistice Day address, Gen. Omar Bradley said, "We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount. ... Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants." If that was true in 1948, then how much truer is it today? With all of our sophistication, with all of our knowledge, we have only become more base, more perverse and more wicked. Jesus said, "When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day" (Luke 17:26 NLT). One of the prominent sins of Noah's time, according to Genesis 6:11, was that the earth was corrupt in God's sight and full of violence. That is a description of our times. We are a violent culture, and it just gets worse. But the good news is that God will still be at work, and "many shall be purified" (Daniel 12:10 NKJV). The same passage in Daniel also says, "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt" (verse 2). There is a final judgment that is coming to every person. Yet it breaks the heart of God to have to say to someone, "Depart from me, I never knew you. ..." The Bible says that God has "no pleasure in the death of the wicked" (Ezekiel 33:11 NKJV). This is why he took such radical measures in sending his own Son to come to this earth, be nailed to a Roman cross, and have all of my sins and your sins placed upon him. He bore that horrible agony for us so we wouldn't have to face this punishment. That is what God did for us. Everyone will face death sooner or later. The statistics on death are really quite impressive: one out every one person dies. We will all face it, no matter who we are. It doesn't matter how famous you are or how wealthy you are. You leave it all behind. And then you stand before God.

I noticed this week that as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was visiting foreign dignitaries in Europe, one in the receiving line put his hands behind his back as Netanyahu made his way down the line, shaking hands. Bibi simply gave a slight shrug and moved on. This same week, Australia's foreign minister warmly invited Netanyahu to be the first Israeli premier to visit her country. The visit is scheduled for early next year. Only a couple years ago, Israel seemed dangerously close to being totally isolated internationally. Many, including myself, felt that the famous prophecies describing this very reality were very close. That is a lesson that we shouldn't look too far out, but "let the prophecies come to us." Still, there are other interesting developments taking place. It is now being reported that Moscow has invited both the Israelis and Palestinians to sit down for talks. No date is set, but it would present a fascinating turn of history if this plays out. Remember, one of the clever aspects of Jimmy Carter's Camp David talks with Egypt and Israel involved prying the Arab world away from its client-state status with the Soviet Union. The Russians had worked for decades to oppose the West in the Middle East, and two disastrous wars paved the way for the Arabs to look elsewhere. We were the elsewhere. Now, however, with the deliberate strategy of Barack Obama to bolster his Muslim friends, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood, the Russians have seen an opportunity once again. They are back to their old role as an opponent of the U.S. in the Middle East. We have Obama to thank for that. It is here I should say that it is my view he is himself a totalitarian in the Marxist tradition. Whether he is actually a Muslim is debatable, but the stone cold fact is, he helps jihadists and hinders freedom. He is doing it on purpose. This has created a very dangerous vacuum in the Middle East, and look for the Russians to exploit it far more than their current involvement in Syria. Just today, there is an amazing interview in the Times of Israel with neocon Norman Podhoretz, who has raised the possibility that Iran and Israel will engage each other in a nuclear war in the future. This of course is not based on his view of eschatology, but geopolitics and the catastrophe Obama has brought on all of us. However, I think it's interesting to note that the Zechariah prophecies are tinged with reality in light of such stories in the media. Keep in mind, too, the Russians are working closely with Iran, particularly in their missile defense systems and anti-aircraft systems. This is designed specifically to blunt any Israeli attack. John Kerry has just met with his Russian counterpart in Geneva, to discuss each country's operations in Syria, but no breakthroughs in cooperation occurred. Too, there are reports of closer cooperation between Turkey and Russia, leading some to speculate that Gog-Magog is about to break out. We must remember, though, that Turkey's Erdogan in notoriously difficult to deal with, and follows his own drumbeat. It is a mistake to assume that what exists today will exist tomorrow. Tomorrow might see a deep freeze in Russian-Turkish relations. All in all, current geopolitics is volatile and astonishing to watch. Let us resolve to "let the prophecies come to us," without too much speculation on our part. [email protected]

In another move to grab control of the Syrian arena, the Kremlin marked the start of the US-Russian brokered ceasefire in Syria on Sept 12 with a push for the United States to dissolve the war room that has been running anti-Assad operations from a venue north of the Jordanian capital Amman. debkafile's military and intelligence sources report that the demand was handed down from the Russian presidential office and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The US Central Command Forward Command in Jordan has for three years run the command and communications functions of select rebel ground operations against Bashar Assad, especially insofar as US special operations units and air force were involved. Jordanian, Saudi, Israeli, Qatari and United Arab Emirates officers serve alongside American commanders. This forward command has evolved, according to our sources, into the nerve center of the military campaigns waged by this coalition against the Syrian army and its allies in southern Syria and also against the Islamic State in southeastern Syria and parts of western Iraq. In January 2016, President Vladimir Putin had the Saudis talk King Abdullah into establishing a Russian-Jordanian forward command outside Amman alongside the American war room. His pretext was the necessity to avert accidental collisions between the Russian and Jordanian warplanes operating in Syrian air space. But over the past months, the Russian-led command center has gradually nudged the US war room into an inferior role in the control of ongoing operations. Last week, in the course of the marathon talks on a Syrian truce held by US Secretary of State John Kelly and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Geneva, the American delegation was suddenly confronted with a demand to shut down the Centcom forward command in Jordan and reassign the US officers staffing it to the Russian-Jordanian command center. Although taken aback, the US delegation in Geneva did not immediately reject the demand, but agreed to give it due consideration provided that the 10-day truce in Syria holds up and can be extended. If President Barack Obama submits to Moscow's demand, our sources point out, it would mean curtains for Israeli, Saudi, Qatar and Emirate officers participation in the Amman command. They would be sent home and their governments would find themselves out in the cold in relation to coordinated Russia-US and Jordanian operations in Syria. According to debkafile's intelligence sources, Israel and Gulf Arab military chiefs have concluded that Moscow's move has the opposite goal of a ceasefire, and is in fact designed to clear the way for a major Russian-Syrian operation to seize Daraa, the main town of southern Syria, and drive all anti--Assad forces out of this region. Since most of the rebel groups in control of the South are backed by Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Emirates, their expulsion would eliminate those nations' influence and involvement in that part of Syria and sever their operational links with the United States. This theory gained substance from the Syria ruler's declaration Monday at the Daraya mosque: "The Syrian state is determined to recover every area from the terrorists," Assad said in an interview broadcast by state media. He made no mention of the ceasefire agreement going into effect that day, but said the army would continue its work "without hesitation, regardless of any internal or external circumstances".

The firing of two missiles at Israeli aircraft bears witness to the growing confidence of Assad's army. It is still too soon to determine if the Syrian Army's firing of missiles at IAF aircraft before dawn on Tuesday in the Quneitra region signifies a policy shift by the Assad regime in regard to Israeli military activity in the area. This determination can be made if similar fire is carried out the next time the IAF or IDF gunners attack in response to mortar shells or artillery fire that lands in Israeli territory. However, one thing is already clear: The firing of two S-200 surface-to-air missiles was not a coincidence. The Syrian Army released an official statement on the incident. This is the first known instance of Assad's army retaliating to Israeli military activity in Syrian territory since the country's civil war began some five-and-a-half years ago. For the past several years, according to foreign media, the IAF has acted unmolested in Syrian airspace in violation of Syria's sovereignty and the March 1974 Disengagement Agreement that the two countries signed after the Yom Kippur War. The IAF, according to foreign reports, with both fighter jets and unmanned aerial vehicles, has been flying in Syrian airspace in order to take photographs and gather intelligence. On more than ten occasions, the Air Force attacked Syrian Army targets, including some on the outskirts of Damascus: warehouses, factories and convoys bringing advanced weaponry (precision surface-to-surface missiles, anti-aircraft missiles and radar and anti-ship missiles) to Hezbollah in Lebanon. In the face of all of these attacks, Assad's army swallowed its pride and did not respond. The Syrian Army did not respond either when Israel shot down a Syrian Sukhoi warplane that neared its border a few years ago. Israel also attacked on several other occasions, according to foreign reports, including assassinations by air strike of senior Hezbollah officials (among them the January 2015 strike that killed Jihad Moughniyeh, the son of former Hezbollah "defense minister" Imad Moughniyeh, and later, arch-terrorist Samir Kuntar in his safe-house in the Damascus suburbs), as well as an Iranian Revolutionary Guards general. This came amid attempts by Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force commander, General Qassem Suleimani, to establish a military infrastructure in the Golan Heights, with Assad's knowledge, to launch attacks against Israel. These alleged Israeli attacks thwarted this plan by the Hezbollah-Iran-Syria axis. In addition, the IDF also responded with artillery fire, rockets and symbolic air strikes against Syrian Army outposts almost every time that errant shells from the fighting between the Syrian Army and rebel groups near the border, "spilled over" and landed in Israeli territory, for the most part not causing injuries or damage. The IDF's responses were measured and were mainly intended to send a message to the regime - the IDF said so expressly in its statements - that no matter what the source of the errant fire was, whether it came from the Syrian Army or the rebels, Israel sees the Assad regime as responsible and the sovereign power in charge of its territory. Up until last night's events, the Syrian Army did not respond. In the most recent episode, it responded forcefully, backed up by an official statement in which it took responsibility. However, the IDF denied the Syrian Army spokesman's claim that the missiles downed an Israeli warplane and drone, and said that the missiles had not even come close to the IAF aircraft. But, it is clear that the missiles were intended to send a signal to Israel that this was not accidental fire ordered by a junior commander in charge of an anti-aircraft battery, but rather, it was the result of orders from the senior command. The incident bears witness to the growing confidence of Assad's army, which is succeeding, for the most part because of Russian help, to expand its control in Syria (which is still only some 30 percent of the territory) and to cement the regime's place as the opposition weakens and ISIS is at the beginning of the end. As the regime's army intensifies its assault on the rebels, including in the Golan Heights, not far from Israel's border, the chances for more errant shells landing in Israeli territory increase. Two additional shells fell on Tuesday afternoon. The IDF is expected to respond, likely with increasing levels of force. If Assad's army decides to retaliate like it did last night, the chances for an escalation of tensions and descent into violence on what has until now been a relatively quiet Golan Heights border also increase, despite the fact that most of the sides involved - Israel, the Assad regime, Russia, and some of the rebel groups - have no interest in heating up the border and sparking a military conflict.

Doomsday talk is on the rise. It brings to mind the 1964 movie filmed in stark black and white on the topic of nuclear war, entitled Dr. Strangelove. This was a darkly humorous film that captured the fearful times at the height of the Cold War involving America and the Soviet Union. A U.S. general, in this fictional account, went a bit nutso and ordered a strike on the Soviet Union by the B-52 bombers under his command. (Yes, Hollywood was liberal and saw the U.S. as more evil than the Communist world in those days, too.) The president, played by Peter Sellers--who also played Dr. Strangelove, the former Nazi scientist in the employ of the U.S. Department of Defense--did all he could to direct the Soviets to bring down the final B-52 as it began its assault. But, alas, the bomber, although crippled by a nearby anti-aircraft missile strike, managed to unleash a multi-megaton hydrogen bomb. This strike set in motion all-out nuclear war because the Soviets had developed a doomsday machine nobody within the U.S. Defense Department knew about. It became at that point a final war that could not be controlled or stopped. Back to reality... President Ronald Reagan's peaceful defeat of Soviet designs for world domination was believed to bring the Cold War to an end. Immediately the cries by the "progressives" went up to convert all of the Cold War military spending to social, do-good causes. This call for ever-decreasing spending in America's military roared during the Clinton years and again during the Obama administrations so that the U.S. military, in many of its aspects is now said to be at pre-World War II levels. But, it is obvious to those who view things through the lens of reality that America's old, Cold War foes--Russia and China--are building military war-making machinery. They are doing so technologically, if not in war-capable hardware, and now are reaching out to achieve super-power status. Other diabolist states are doing their best to establish their niches in the world's nuclear power structure. We know all about Iran wanting to develop nuclear weaponry and the missile capability to deliver them. The Ayatollahs have even forewarned time after time just who these weapons when completed will be used against. North Korea makes no bones about wanting to hit any target they can when they achieve the capability to accurately launch them. All of this has brought the world to renewed fears of the world possibly meeting its end in fiery, nuclear doom within a decade or sooner. European doomsday worry-warts are ginning up ultra-Cold War fears by warning citizens to prepare for disaster. With the prospect of the influx of millions of hostile militants migrating to Europe, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, as I reported last week, said, "We must give priority to security, so let's start setting up a joint European army." The German government has instructed its people to prepare for disaster by stockpiling ten days' worth of food and five days' worth of water. Berlin is also considering re-instituting conscription (a military draft) in view of the tremendous surge of Muslims entering Europe. One thing we haven't heard much about in this volatile political season is that President Obama is also speaking in such terms. In June he said that Americans must be "prepared "--by having an evacuation plan," as well as "having a fully-stocked disaster supply kit." All of this comes with increasing alarm by some military analysts who report that Russia is developing and testing new "hyper-weapons." Russian TU-22M3 long-range Backfire bomber aircraft will now be armed with the new Russian Kh-32 cruise missile. The capabilities of this missile are astounding: It can fly at speeds of up to 600 mph to an altitude of almost 25 miles, and when it reaches the proximity of its target, fly downward at a speed of almost 3,000 mph with a total range of almost 600 miles. There are unsubstantiated reports within some fear-forewarning supposition that "doomsday bunkers" have been prepared for Russian citizenry. Some of the fearful postulation is that many within Russian officialdom are taking to the especially prepared doomsday bunkers in the Yamantau Mountain complex that has been constructed. Add to this increasing reporting that Russian President Vladimir Putin is in the process of purging all upper-echelon officers within his military that oppose future war with Europe and the U.S. Turkey is said to be making tremendous changes within its military planning, in conjunction with Putin's own maneuverings, as preparations for an eventual war in the Middle East and beyond are becoming more manifest. Chinese leaders are all but declaring war on China's neighbors in creating islands in the South China Sea--which it now claims for the most part to belong to China. The Chinese navy consistently challenges any commercial and other ships that want to pass through what the world still considers international waters. China, like Russia, is believed to have produced weapons of a defensive nature that are designed to thwart nuclear missile strikes in retaliation for their own offensive assaults--thus in violation of longstanding agreements against such military technological development. So, it looks like the old Dr. Strangelove Cold War fears are back. Despite the hyperbole and conspiracy theories, there is enough reality-based concern to be alert to the worries wrought by all this doomsday speculation. All that said, the bottom line is that the God of Heaven will have the final say about the fate of nations--of planet earth. As a matter of fact, He has already given us all we need to know about that which this generation is now facing so far as the likelihood of doomsday is concerned. This world is not at its end. It won't be at its end until at a minimum 1007 years from now--and that is if the Rapture occurred within the next fifteen minutes. "Doomsday" is a matter that must be viewed in terms of degree. It is true, biblically, that earth's total obliteration will never take place by human use of the hydrogen bomb or any other device or doomsday machine. It is equally true, prophetically speaking, that earth as we know it will one day be done away with, then remade. That will perhaps take place through nuclear fission or some other phenomenon of natural physics. However it is done, it will be God who remakes the heavens and the earth. To most all of those who will be left behind and live through the Tribulation era following the Rapture of the Church it will be the time of doom. Most believers (those who accept Christ after the Rapture) will be martyred. Theirs will not be "doom" but severe persecution--and, in most cases, death. But, those who die will go instantly to an eternity of bliss beyond all imagination. To the reader: You don't have to concern yourself with "Doomsday." Jesus Christ died on the cross at Calvary two thousand years ago to assure that your place of heavenly safety is forever secured. Again, the following is the way God has provided for you to escape the terrors the doomed unbelievers of the ages must face: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10: 9-10). 
My Review of "Rapture Ready...Or Not?" Over the last 35 years, I have literally read hundreds of books on Bible Prophecy and End Time signs. I especially enjoy books on the Rapture, and I have read almost every Rapture-related book published. In all those years, devouring thousands of pages, and millions of words, I have not read a better book on the Rapture than, Rapture Ready...Or Not? Terry James might be physically blind, but he is spiritually sharp and well discerning beyond most authors. In "Rapture Ready...Or Not?" Terry has nailed the pre-trib Rapture, and removed any doubt what so ever about the Church going through the Tribulation. With great insight and Godly discernment, Terry explains with simple, yet profound words, why and how that he has come to believe the ways he does about the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the End Times scenario. Just the other day I was driving down the expressway only to take a quick glance at a billboard. It surely did not come to me as a surprise when I realized that the one of the most frightening motion pictures that impacted a generation of movie goers was now being made into a weekly television series. The caption that was on the billboard said : There is a Fate Worse Than Death. There was also an image of what looked to appear to be a distraught and disheveled looking girl sitting on the floor with her head spun in the opposite direction. Enough said. Recent programs and motion pictures have placed a strong emphasis on the supernatural. I am convinced that there is a spiritual vacuum in this nation that is being filled with much deception and manipulation. What it ultimately comes down to is that the devil knows that his time is short.....very short. I mean very, very short. 2 Timothy 1:7--For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Fear as we know it is a spiritual phenomenon, inflicted upon one by none other than the devil. I am not referring to the reverential fear that one has towards an Almighty God. I am talking about fear as the opposite of faith. Fear desires to steal and control one's faith. Proverbs 29:25-The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. As I begun to reflect on this I also came to the realization that in the most disturbing of films the victims happen to be children. In the modern world, nothing is more revered than children, as they are the embodiment of innocence. And for that innate innocence to be contaminated by something evil or corrupt or dangerous is inherently mysterious and disturbing. In the Bible Jesus often talked about children. Matthew 19:14-But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. When movies and or television programs are made depicting children as objects of horror, this can indicative of fears on a number of levels-fear of the younger generation on a broad level, being surpassed, taken over, rendered irrelevant. Or perhaps on another level, another level, there is a fear of being a bad parent, making mistakes, and not being able to control your past or your present. Some schools of thought also believe that horror is inherently a conservative genre. If one takes this approach, it is no wonder there are regulatory influences trying to scare people into controlling the younger generation. If unregulated, they may wreak havoc on all traditional structures. In today's culture, Media and television shows cater to the child's world and adults are sidelined as comic relief. Adults are no longer in control of their world. Advertising, pop culture, technology, and home life is centered around the child. In addition, it has been said that its core, horror is about the unpredictability and vulnerability of life; the knowledge that, as safe and serene as things may seem, and as much as we strive to create a bubble of safety and continuity for ourselves, around any corner and at any future moment may come death, pain, loss, psychological trauma, or another form of terror. Let me inform you as to who is responsible for this. Often God is blamed when calamity comes. But the god to blame is the god of this world: 2 Corinthians 4:3-4--But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. John 10:10-The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The Bible clearly tells us not to be ignorant of the tactics of our adversary: 2 Corinthians 2:11-Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. The true antidote to fear is the Word of God and faith in the Word of God. Because fear is caused by the devil, we need to know how to defeat the devil. Here are some practical lessons Jesus demonstrated for us in an encounter with the devil: Matthew 4:1-11-Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

The Battle Takes Place In Our Minds. We Win The Battle With Scripture! This is why the Bible tells us that we should teach the Word of God to our children when we are sitting, standing, walking and lying down. Deuteronomy 6:6-9-And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. When we fear God and obey His Word the children also are safe. Where there is the knowledge of Christ and where the Gospel is taught, there is no way devils can come there. Furthermore, wherever there is deep faith in the Word of God and on the Cross of Jesus; wherever the communion service is observed not as a formality but with true reverence and holiness, remembering the death of Jesus, the devils cannot operate there at all. The devil cannot possess a truly converted believer who walks with a clean conscience before God. O the other hand, harboring hypocrisy deliberately and willful disobedience to God's Word can position one to be vulnerable to the enemy's onslaughts. I for one am grieved by the victimization of our youth and the onslaught of spiritual attacks they have been bombarded with. However, in the eyes of God these are precious souls that need more then anything to know about the love of God and the power of the finished work on the cross through Jesus Christ. As a nation we seek revival. I am convinced that the next "Great Awakening ," if you will, will begin soon and it will spread through the youth. I believe that the flames of a righteous indignation within the true Body of Christ are beginning to be fanned. At the end of the day there is a "...fate worse then death." That is eternal separation from God Himself. Luke 12:4-6-And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him

According to Webster, the definition of Unfit is: "not proper, suitable, or acceptable: not having the necessary qualities, skills, mental health, etc., to do something: not physically healthy: not in good physical condition." Hillary Clinton proves over and over again that she is unfit to hold the office of President of the United States. Both her mental and physical health have come into question in recent weeks, enough now that a former Democratic Party Chairman says there should be a contingency plan to replace the ailing Clinton if her health continues to decline-But it's not just any former Democratic Party Chair-His name is Don Fowler and he was the Clinton's hand-picked party chair during Bill Clinton's presidency. Fowler says there needs to be a plan in place and many Democratic Party leaders agree, although none will admit that Clinton's health is a real concern. Clinton herself has been seen stumbling into vans and up steps lately, and she admitted in an interview with Anderson Cooper to passing out "only twice that I can recall. You know it is something that has occurred a few times over the course of my life. And I'm aware of it and usually can avoid it." But her campaign has shrouded the health concerns in secrecy. The New York Post reports that Clinton was taken to her daughter's house instead of to the emergency room to avoid details of her health becoming public after she became immobile at a 9-11 ceremony Sunday. Another recent action by Clinton also meets the definition of unfit as she is not proper, suitable or acceptable to hold the office of President. She characterized those who would vote for Donald Trump as "deplorables." At a high-ticket fundraiser September 9, Clinton said, "To just be grossly generalist, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call 'the basket of deplorables. Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it." Clinton's campaign of characterizing those who disagree with her as racists and bigots is offensive in the least. She is demonstrating that she is unfit to hold the office she seeks because she has such a hate-filled opinion of conservative Americans who would not vote for her. Her secrecy surrounding her true health is indicative of how the Clinton's handle all issues that arise. They hide the issue and attack those who question it. Also, she is characterizing those who disagree with her as "alt conservatives," right wing extremists who are conducting a conspiratorial campaign against her. Does this sound like someone who is mentally stable enough to hold public office? She is accusing a huge percentage of American voters of being hate mongers who are conspiring against her. Luke 6:45 says, "...an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." By "generally" accusing others of bigotry and hate, she exposes her heart specifically.

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. -Colossians 3:2 Back in older times, there was a Latin phrase they would write on the top of a document. It was memento mori. It means, "Think of death." You say, "That is so morbid." It actually is not. It was a reminder to be aware of the fact that life ends. Be aware of the fact that eternity is close. Be aware of the fact that there is an afterlife. It is not a bad thing to think about these things deeply. In fact, it was C. S. Lewis who said, "A continual looking forward to the eternal world is not . . . a form of escapism or wishful thinking, but one of the things a Christian is meant to do." You should think about death, eternity, and the afterlife. If you are a Christian, you are going to enter heaven in one of two ways: either through death or through the rapture. Either we will die, or the Lord will catch us up to meet Him in the air. Imagine being part of the rapture. One day you might be walking on the street, thinking about a loved one who has gone to be with the Lord. Maybe you are thinking about your last conversation with them, or wondering what they are experiencing there in heaven. Suddenly, in the twinkling of an eye, you will be with them. Mothers and fathers reunited with sons and daughters. Husbands reunited with wives. Siblings with siblings. Friends with friends. Your sorrow vanishes and it is replaced by ecstatic joy. Not only are you with your loved one again, but best of all you are with Jesus. For the Christian, thinking about the afterlife is not a bad thing. It is actually a good thing. So go ahead and think about it. Go ahead and dream about it. Go ahead and wonder about it. It is called being heavenly minded.
