The World is in Convulsions - Pastor Mike Taylor -
http://pastormiketaylor.blogspot.com/2017/09/the-world-is-in-convulsions.html "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken". (Luke 21:25-26) Has the environment become hostile to the world's population that we don't know what to expect next? I know that the news channels are all talking about the hurricanes that we have just gone through, including Harvey and Irma with the greatest wind speeds and the size of the storm surpassing what has ever been recorded in modern weather forecasting. I am saddened by the destruction that was leveled on the Texas gulf coast with 50+ inches of rain that flooded most everything in Houston and the surrounding areas. I noted that the hurricane with its winds and rain just stalled and unleashed massive amounts of precipitation that is beyond my mind to comprehend that much rain. Then came Irma that was just another onslaught to the gulf coast..Thankfully, she steered to the west of Florida and didn't ravage the highly populated areas of the Eastern Coast of Florida. And now we hear of new hurricanes brewing in the Atlantic...what in the world is going on? I'm sure most of us look at the weather and remember that the sun's total eclipse made this same path across the USA from Northwest to the Southeast and passed over the areas that these hurricanes have come from. Next we speak of fires out of control. THE WORLD IS ON FIRE I was reading how the southwest and all along the western part of the USA is burning millions of acres and spreading into Montana and up into our neighbor up north, Canada in unrelenting damage and destruction. The Forest Service is reporting that 2017 is shaping up to be a worse than average fire year based on acres of federal, private and state land burned. So far, 5.6 million acres of land has burned this year, or 1.8 million acres more than the ten year average of 3.8 million acres burned by this time. Some states like Nevada are saying that 2017 is the worst fire season in 15 years, while Montana has already used up much of its firefighting budget, even as much of the state remains in drought conditions according to the US Drought Monitor. The state may have to tap into reserve and federal funding. Speaking of our neighbor to the north, fires are also currently scorching Canada's British Columbia. This is the province's second worst fire season on record and NASA satellites have identified the conflagration from space. It's unsurprising that the smoke is billowing over the border into nearby Seattle in Washington state which for much of last week was also under a heat advisory. On Thursday, the city hit a record breaking 94 degrees at the Seattle Tacoma airport. The regular high for the region at this time of year is 77 degrees. Between the heat and the fact that the region has been, according to US Drought Monitor is unnaturally dry that wildfires are knocking on their door is unsurprising. Across the big pond of the Atlantic , if you load up the European Commission's fire map, it looks like the end of the world, especially in Italy and Romania. So far, an area just slightly smaller than the state of Rhode Island has burned. The total is already roughly three times the normal amount of summer wildfires. Back in June, 60 people died over the course of one weekend in Portugal due to wildfires. Thirty people were killed when the fires reached roads on evacuation routes. And as the map makes clear, those fires don't seem to be abating, in part because of the hotter, drier temperatures ...this has also spread to Russia and Siberia which an image NASA has managed to capture on satellite footage, along with large swathes of Brazil. Back in June, South Africa was ablaze, and in New Zealand in February (during their summer) the city of Christchurch called a state of emergency after a wildfire sent thousands running from their homes and destroyed homes, and killed a pilot. In January, Chile, for whom like New Zealand January is summer, battled a similar unusual number of wildfires due to a combination of drought and high temperatures. The world wants to blame this phenomenon on Climate Change and will take any change in climate to further the mantra of a global New World Order. EARTHQUAKES COVER THE GLOBE It was just in the news of another earthquake that hit Mexico City with 7.1 quake that struck near the town of Raboso in Puebla, approximately 76 miles southeast of Mexico City, at a depth of 35 miles. This USGS reading is preliminary, but Mexico's National Seismological Service released similar numbers for the earthquake's strength. A USGS official told the Associated Press that Tuesday's earthquake was not an aftershock of the disaster that struck near Chiapas on Sept. 8, due to the large distance between the two events. These earthquakes have spread all over the planet, along the ring of fire in the Pacific and has caused great Tsunami's, the like of the one that killed a quarter of a million people into Japan and Southeast Asia According to a number of Christian writers and teachers (including this writer) on Bible prophecy, Jesus predicted in the Olivet Discourse that a pronounced increase in the frequency and intensity of earthquakes would occur just prior to His return to the earth. Many of the same writers and teachers claim that the decade of the 1990s and accelerating into the 21st Century, that we have experienced a pronounced increase in both the frequency and intensity of earthquakes as compared to the earlier decades of the twentieth century. This coincidence of Jesus' prophetic statement and recent seismic events is viewed by these writers and teachers as clear demonstration of the nearness of the return of Christ. Earthquakes continue to increase in frequency and intensity, just as the Bible predicts for the last days before the return of Christ. History shows that the number of killer quakes remained fairly constant until the 1950s - averaging between two to four per decade. In the 1950s, there were nine. In the 1960s, there were 13. In the 1970s, there were 51. In the 1980s, there were 86. From 1990 through 1996, there have been more than 150 and in the last 10 years, we have witnessed an annual number of "great" earthquakes nearly tripling over the last decade, providing a reminder to Americans that unruptured faults like those in the northwest United States might be due for a Big One. Between 2004 and 2014, 18 earthquakes with magnitudes of 8.0 or more rattled subduction zones around the globe. That's an increase of 265 percent over the average rate of the previous century, which saw 71 great quakes, according to a report to the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America this week in Vancouver, British Columbia. Jesus spoke of this time, that He called the beginning of sorrows: "6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24:6-8) and Paul confirmed the time we live in Romans chp. 8: "19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body."(Romans 8:19-23) Now let us cover the signs in the heavens, that men can't explain. PLANET NIBIRU OR PLANET X Not sure what to make of the reports about a planet entering our solar system called Planet X. How are we to interpret this?..So I went and did some digging into if this report of a rogue planet heading our way. Is it fact or fiction? It has been reported that NASA had issued a terrifying advisory about the trajectory of a a "rogue planet" known as "Nibiru" or "Planet X", saying it would "intersect Earth's orbit, with potentially disastrous consequences". The report said: "NASA has known about the mystery planet for years, but declined to warn us ... until now. "Finally, after the announcement of "Planet Nine" in January, conspiracy theorists have proved to the skeptics that they have been right this entire time, and NASA finally has to admit its wrongs. "The planet, according to Caltech researchers, has a mass about ten times that of Earth and takes about 15,000 years to make a full orbit around the sun - And it's heading towards Earth." The online detective called Snopes has debunked this report, but Snopes has also been debunked as being run by a married couple in their home. The urban legend-busting Snopes.com and its proprietors, Barbara and David Mikkelson, who started the site in 1995 and still run it. They're accused of hiding their identities, doing shoddy research, producing articles with a liberal bent and bash anything that speaks of conservative principles. . So personally, I discount their opinions as being less than objective, but back to the question at hand. The report on this Planet X, is extremely convincing and even claims to quote NASA spokesperson Heather Cartwright as saying: "Although our scientists at NASA have emphasized for years that Nibiru doesn't exist, we are ready to reveal the fact that it does exist. "The truth is we have been tracking the object for at least a decade and it is definitely headed towards planet Earth. "However, we are expecting a close flyby - not the doomsday collision that Caltech researchers are predicting. There is no need to cause mass panic." The report went on to say Caltech scientists were at odds with NASA over the threat. We are not sure what to make of these reports, but we know that this planet will NOT be destroyed, as Jesus will come and rule from Jerusalem and return this planet to its Garden of Eden environment during His 1000 year reign. But I do recall what John wrote in Revelation. 8 "And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. 10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter." (Revelation 8:8-11) All these environmental disasters are the run-up to the coming Tribulation, where the seals of the wrath of God are opened in sequence. The earth is groaning and waits for its own redemption, as Paul mentioned in Romans 8. Mankind has abused the earth to such an extent, it would not be beyond imaginations to say that nature is rebelling and attempting to vomit out the pollution along with the polluters that are destroying the environment. But speaking of a mountain that falls into the sea, a asteroid burning with sulfur and iron would make much of the world uninhabitable. All this takes place in the coming Tribulation, so if there is a link between this Planet X/Nibiru, then it could be used by God to bring further judgement on this earth. God is control of every celestial body, star or planet in the universe, so He will bring judgment according to His Word. WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN? If we take the signs in the heavens, the stars, the sun, and the moon, we have had an abundance of what I feel, God is trying to get our attention. Let us recount what has happened in the last 30 years: -increase in earthquakes that grows in number each year to disastrous results. -increase in volcanic activity that has awakened mountains after years of sleep. -increase in whole species of animals dying mysteriously- -blood moons that appeared on God's Feast Days two years in a row -total eclipses that spell judgement coming on the Gentiles by interpretation. -increase in weather patterns of hurricanes and Tsunamis from earthquakes -celestial signs in the heavens of the Revelation 12 signs that may or may not be something happening this September 23rd. -push for a New World Order on the false concept of Climate Change- -Sustainable Development and Agenda 2030 being pushed by the U.N. To monitor every man and woman on the planet. -lawlessness in our streets, worldwide. Terrorism that grows unabated -Muslim invasion of Europe and immigration grown out of hand in the USA. -the world in near economic collapse, and debt beyond an ability to pay back. -abortion on demand and the demise of 70 million babies in the USA alone..with many more worldwide -Homosexuality on the order of Sodom and Gommarrah, same sex marriage ruled Constitutional and the abomination written in Romans 1 taking grip of our planet. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN? I am no prophet, but even a observant person who believes in the True God of Heaven, knows that this world cannot continue in this direction for an undetermined amount of time. God is longsuffering and not willing that any should perish. 9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." (2nd Peter 3:9-10) Even our God who is longsuffering, has patience that runs out. He gave the Canaanites 400 years to come to repentance and turn from their wicked ways, then He commanded that they be destroyed, every man, woman and child. Israel was given this command. The world has been moving to higher levels of evil that wax and waned in times past, but the 20th Century after WW2 into our "modern" era has seen an exponential increase in lawlessness, Godlessness, and wickedness that God will judge but will give man one last chance during the coming 7 years of Jacob's trouble. We have discussed that Satan will be given a free reign over this earth to do whatever evil he wishes to impose on mankind. It will be the final judgment of Satan that God will bring judgment on the fallen ark angel called Lucifer before he fell and became the "adversary" called Satan. When will this happen? The only Power that has held Satan in check, is God's Holy Spirit, which resides in every truly born again believer who has received a deposit of God's promise of future glorification. "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders," (2nd Thessalonians 2:1-9) Many have tried to hypothesize who the "He" is in the verses above. It's a personal pronoun and denotes a Person, not an angel or any other created being, but God's Spirit who is the only Power that is doing the withholding. WILL JESUS COME SOON? The question everyone on the internet is asking, "will Jesus come this weekend?"...many have proposed that the sign of Revelation 12 and the total eclipse August the 21st was a super sign of the coming of our Lord...Not so fast. Jesus said that no one would know. 33 "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matthew 24:33-39) We have discussed that Jesus was referring to a coming "Feast of Trumpets" by the idiom of speech that each Jewish man would have recognized, BUT...we don't know which year that will be. But we know that the signs are all around us, and the signs on earth and in the heavens are screaming His soon return. You feel it, I feel it, and the secular world knows that something has got to give and sense something big is about to happen. Now this 23rd of September could be another sign that the end is close, right at the door. Also, noting that we have ended the 70 years generation of those who were alive when Israel was made a nation. But I will not predict, nor should anyone that Jesus is coming this Saturday. We can pray, we can hope, and we can watch as I will be watching and listening on that day for a trumpet sound, but if it doesn't come, I won't become depressed, as God has His plan and it is right on time. I just have to stay faithful and keep working for Him, until He actually sends Jesus to claim what He bought with His own blood 2000 years ago on a roman cross. He has ascended to the Father in Heaven and sits at His right hand, and waiting for the signal to "go get my children"... WILL YOU BE READY? No matter when that trumpet sound breaks the atmosphere and Jesus calls with a sound of a trumpet "come up hither", will you be ready? Will you be found with faith in God and His plan for mankind. Clothed with the rightousness of His Son? Make no mistake about it, friend, Jesus is coming...and He will come when the world least expects Him. That is why I'm a little skeptical that it will be this Saturday, because the hype is saying Jesus is coming....but what did Paul write ? 5 "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness" (1st Thessalonians 5:1-5) This Saturday, Jesus could come, but to the world, He will come as a thief...to those of us who are looking at the signs and know that His return is imminent, we will be watching, waiting, and in prayer. But the point is, no one knows, no one alive that is. But my warning to all who read this message, "Be Ready". You ask, "how do I get ready"...easy. Two sets of verses that even a small child can grasp. 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18) Belief in the only Begotten Son of God in your heart, in your mind, in your life, and then express that belief with your mouth to others of your belief. 8 "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." (Romans 10:8-11) The world is in convulsions. The environment is turning deadly. The heavens and the earth is being shaken, but not to the extent that God will shake this Creation when He comes to bring judgment on this fallen earth. You don't want to be here. I won't be, WILL YOU? 14 "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (1st Thessalonians 4:14-18) This is Pastor Mike Taylor, praying you will be ready to meet Jesus in the air. It could come this weekend, or in the near future. Just be ready. If you need prayer, counseling, or just a listening ear, email me at [email protected] , God bless you all, TILL WE MEET AT JESUS FEET Abbas tells UN it's responsible for ending Israeli 'apartheid' - https://www.timesofisrael.com/abbas-tells-un-its-responsible-for-ending-israeli-apartheid/ Palestinian leader says two-state solution in jeopardy; demands apology from UK over 1917 Balfour Declaration Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday told the United Nations that Israel is not a peace partner, and said its "colonial occupation" of the West Bank and East Jerusalem was breeding incitement and violence in the region. In an address to the General Assembly, Abbas said the international community was responsible for putting an end to Israeli policies that "incite religious tensions and could lead to a violent religious conflict." "We are entrusted and you are entrusted to end apartheid in Palestine," Abbas said in a nearly 45-minute speech." Can the world accept an apartheid regime in the 21st century?" "Has the international community surrendered to the fact that Israel is a country above the law?" he asked. "The continuation of the occupation is a disgrace for the international community." "There is no place left for the state of Palestine and this is not acceptable," he said. "The two-state solution is in jeopardy," he said, warning, "We cannot as Palestinians stand still in the face of this threat." "Our choice is the two-state solution on the 1967 borders," Abbas said, "and we will grant every chance for the efforts being undertaken by President Donald Trump and the Quartet and international community as a whole to achieve a historic agreement that brings the two-state solution to reality, enabling the state of Palestine with its capital East Jerusalem to live in peace and security side by side with Israel." The Quartet refers to the grouping of the United States, Russia, the United Nations and the European Union guiding the Middle East peace process. Abbas said that failing the re-establishment of talks, he would continue to seek recognition of Palestinian statehood outside the framework of a peace process - a posture Israel has rejected repeatedly as sabotaging chances for peace. In a first for a Palestinian president since the launch of the Oslo peace process in 1993, however, Abbas also suggested that the Palestinians might, in the face of the collapse of hopes for two states, agitate for full rights in a single state. Likening Israel's control of the West Bank to a "one-state reality," Abbas warned that in the failure of a two-state solution, "neither you, nor we, will have any other choice but to continue the struggle and demand full, equal rights for all inhabitants of historic Palestine. This is not a threat, but a warning of the realities before us as a result of ongoing Israeli policies that are gravely undermining the two-state solution." Abbas said withdrawing the Israeli presence from the West Bank and East Jerusalem, by contrast, would be a blow to Palestinian terror groups, which continue to call for the use of violence as a strategy of resistance. Abbas went on to urge the British government to correct the "historic injustice" it inflicted on the Palestinian people by issuing the Balfour Declaration in 1917, a document that espoused London's support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. The PA president criticized the United Kingdom for marking the 100th anniversary of the declaration, and demanded compensation. Abbas also told the Assembly that Israel's refusal to recognize a state of Palestine along the 1967 lines "put into question" its commitment to the Oslo peace accords signed in 1993. "We recognize the state of Israel on the 1967 borders, but Israel's refusal to recognize these borders has put into question the mutual recognition of the agreement signed in Oslo," he said. Afterwards, Israel's UN ambassador slammed Abbas for his remarks, saying they "spread falsehoods" that "encourage hate." "Today's lies and excuses have proven once again that the Palestinian leadership is a serial evader of peace," Ambassador Danny Danon said in a statement. Earlier on Wednesday, Abbas met with US President Donald Trump and, in a markedly more conciliatory tone than his UN General Assembly speech, expressed optimism of the US administration's efforts to broker "the deal of a century" between the Palestinians and Israel. Abbas said the 20-plus meetings PA officials have held with US officials since Trump took office in January "gives us the assurance and the confidence that we are on the verge of real peace." Trump, in response, told the Palestinian leader that "we have a pretty good shot - maybe the best shot ever" at achieving peace in the entire Middle East. "I certainly will devote everything within my heart and within my soul to get that deal made." "Israel is working very hard toward the same goal, and I must tell you, Saudi Arabia and many of the different nations are working also hard," Trump told Abbas. "So we'll see if we can put it together. Who knows? Stranger things have happened." Trump, who has made resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict one of the "highest priorities" of his presidency, failed to mention the decades-long dispute in his address to the UN a day earlier. During his speech, Trump trashed the deal to curb Iran's nuclear program and dubbed North Korean leader Kim Jong-un a "rocket man" on a "suicide mission." Also on Tuesday, Trump met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and told the Israeli leader that a regional peace deal would be a "fantastic achievement" and that "we are giving it an absolute go." In his own remarks to the General Assembly, Netanyahu said that Israel was ready for peace with Palestinians and the rest of the Arab world. However, his commitment to the principle of "two states for two peoples," expressed last year, was absent from his speech. Netanyahu later hailed Trump's remarks as the most "courageous speech" he had ever heard at the world body. Hezbollah has 10,000 fighters in Syria ready to confront Israel, commander says - By Judah Ari Gross - https://www.timesofisrael.com/hezbollah-has-10000-fighters-in-syria-ready-to-confront-israel-commander-says/ Iranian-backed Lebanese terror group is an army with 'infantry, rockets, tanks, elite forces,' building tunnels, military bases for future war Hezbollah has more than 10,000 fighters in southern Syria ready to confront Israel, a commander for the Iranian-backed Lebanese terror group has said. "Hezbollah has over 10,000 fighters deployed in southern Syria. Hezbollah is an army of infantry, rockets, tanks, elite forces," the Hezbollah official told the Middle East Eye website this week, amid tensions surrounding the shooting down by the Israeli Air Force on Tuesday of an Iranian-built drone launched by the group as it attempted to cross into airspace. The commander said the fighters were based in areas surrounding the Golan Heights and that tunnels and military bases were being built for a possible confrontation with Israel "We are operating as we do in south Lebanon, but of course in a veiled manner," he said. Speaking of the truce in southern Syria, under the auspices of Russia and the United Nations, the commander said that the "de-escalation plan is better for us. We are working with more freedom, there are no more bombings." The commander said that the next war with Israel may start from Syria but "what really matters is where will it end, will it be in Netanya, Haifa or Kiryat Shmona?" On Tuesday, Israel used a Patriot missile to shoot down the drone launched by Hezbollah and scrambled fighter jets to the area where the device was set to cross into Israeli airspace, but ultimately did not need to use them as the interceptor missile was able to destroy the target. The Patriot interceptor missile was launched from a military installation in northern Israel, near the city of Safed. After the drone breached the "Bravo line" that marks the Syrian border and entered the demilitarized zone - but not Israeli airspace - the IDF "decided to intercept it," army spokesperson Lt. Col. Yonatan Conricus said Tuesday. In a statement, the IDF said it "will not allow any infiltration or approach toward the Golan Heights area by terrorist figures from Iranian forces, Hezbollah, Shiite militias or Islamic Jihad." According to Conricus, the air force monitored the unmanned aerial vehicle from its take-off at Damascus airport to the demilitarized zone that separates the Israeli and Syrian Golan Heights. "We monitor everything that flies toward the State of Israel and follow it closely for any potential threat," he said. Conricus said Military Intelligence was able to identify the drone as Iranian-built and Hezbollah-launched based on the army's arrays of sensors in the area and its years of experience monitoring the group. The spokesperson said the drone appeared to be performing reconnaissance mission in the area. It was not immediately clear if the drone was armed. Shortly after the incident, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman warned that any country or terrorist group that threatens Israel will "pay a dear price, very dear." The debris from the drone landed near the Syrian city of Quneitra so the IDF was not able to recover it, he said. The Patriot missile system was designed by the United States to intercept incoming missiles and aircraft. It has been deployed in Israel since the 1990s, but first saw anti-aircraft combat during the 2014 Gaza war, when a battery shot down an unmanned Hamas aircraft over the port of Ashdod. Israel has long been concerned by its nemesis Iran's ongoing efforts to establish itself in southern Syria, near the Golan Heights. Jerusalem fears that the Iranian presence in that area would serve as a springboard for terrorist groups to attack Israel in the future. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly been negotiating with his counterparts in the United States and Russia to establish an Iran-free area around surrounding the border, but to no avail yet. Earlier this month, tens of thousands of Israeli soldiers participated in the largest military drill since 1998, simulating war with Hezbollah for 10 days. The exercise was named "Or HaDagan" after Meir Dagan, a former Mossad chief and IDF general who died last year. Israel last fought a full-scare war with Hezbollah in 2006's Second Lebanon War, and tensions have remained high even as the northern border has remained relatively quiet since. This exercise was touted as a chance to practice failures or military shortcomings exposed during the war. Led by Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah is believed to have an arsenal of between 100,000 and 150,000 short-, medium- and long-range missiles and a fighting force of some 50,000 soldiers, including reservists. While Israeli military officers often discuss a future conflict with the terrorist group as a matter of "when, not if," the assessment of the IDF is that Hezbollah is not currently interested in renewed warfare with Israel at present, due to its active involvement in the Syrian civil war, which have caused it significant strategic problems. Moscow: US-backed SDF faces "destruction." Pro-Iranian Iraqi force crosses into Syria - https://www.debka.com/moscow-us-backed-sdf-faces-destruction-pro-iranian-iraqi-force-crosses-syria/ Israel's strategic situation took several steps back in the first week of the New Year, chiefly: The US pulled back from E. Syria under Russian threat, allowing Iran to move in. In just one week, the dire perils, which many military and political experts warned against for years, are suddenly looming on Israel's northern border. From Sept.15-17, Syrian and Hezbollah forces crossed the Euphrates to the eastern bank on pontoon bridges provided by Russia. Last Saturday, Sept. 16, Russian jets bombed the US-backed Syrian Defense Forces (SDF) in the Deir ez-Zour region, as a warning against their obstructing the eastward impetus of those Syrian and Hezbollah units. On Monday, Sept. 18, US Marines began blowing up buildings at the Zaqaf military base in eastern Syria and then retreating to the Jordanian border. The US set up Zaqaf early this year in the Syrian Desert as a barrier against this very Syrian/Hezbollah crossing to impede their advance to the Syrian-Iraqi border. The following day, on the heels of the US withdrawal, Hezbollah troops took charge of the Zaqaf base. On Wednesday, Sept. 19, the Iraqi Hashd Al-Sha'abi (Popular Mobilization Units - PMU) crossed into Syria and linked up with the Syrian-Hezbollah force. The PMU is under the direct command of Gen. Qassam Soleimani, head of Iranian military operations in Syria and Iraq. Iran, through its Iraqi, Lebanese and other foreign Shiite pawns, is now in control of 230km of the Syrian border, from Abu Kamal (still held by ISIS) in the north, to Al Tanf in the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian border triangle in the south - where, too, US and coalition special forces have begun packing up ready to exit. Iran in recent years imported some 20,000 Afghan and Pakistani Shiite fighters to reinforce the Syrian army and Hezbollah in their battles for Bashar Assad. The new Iraq arrivals boost that figure by tens of thousands and more are coming in all the time. On Thursday, Sept. 21, the growing disconnect between Moscow and Washington over Syria suddenly erupted into an open breach with a crude threat from the Kremlin: "Russia has officially informed the United States via a special communications channel that Russian forces will strike immediately US-backed forces if they attack or shell Syrian or Russian task forces operating near the Deir Ez-Zour city. Any attempts at shelling from the areas where the militants of the Syrian Democratic Forces are based will be immediately curbed. Russian forces will suppress firing points in these areas using all means of destruction." A threat of this degree of ruthlessness has not been encountered in the Middle East for decades, it may recall Moscow's threat to Israel in 1956 to end its invasion of the Sinai without delay or else... Where do these menacing steps leave Israel? The US has washed its hands of central and southeastern Syria. Russia is wholly, unreservedly and openly in lockstep with the Syrian army, Iran and Hezbollah in all their objectives in the war-torn country, and moreover, willing to threaten any pro-American entity with total military punishment. Is this an indirect message to Israel too? Iraqi Shiite forces are surging into Syria; they have given Tehran the gift of control of a 230km segment of the border. And what does the IDF chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gady Eisenkott have to say about all this? In an interview to Israeli media as recently as Wednesday, Sept. 19, when it was all happening, he said: "If Iran does entrench itself in Syria, that will be bad news for the entire region, including the moderate Sunni camp, and even more for the countries of Europe." He went on to explain: "That is why we have given the Iranian threat and halting its expanding influence very high priority as an issue to be dealt with." Gen. Eisenkott underlined the IDF's focus as being to prevent [Israel's foes] from obtaining weaponry, i.e. missiles - of high targeting precision. The trouble is that, while the IDF focuses on this objective, commendable in itself, Russia and Iran are focusing and in full flight on a far wider-ranging goal, the precise and systematic deepening of Iran's military presence in Syria. Iran and Hezbollah have already established military commands at Arnaba just 6 km from Israel's Golan border. Yet the IDF chief is still talking about this as an untoward event that may - or may not - come sometime in the future. What Is It? - Nathele Graham - [email protected] The Israelites had finally had enough of captivity in Egypt. They had prospered when they first went to Egypt and over the years their population grew to the point that Pharaoh felt threatened by them and made their life miserable. As a last resort, they cried out to God. "And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage." Exodus 2:23. God should never be a last resort, but whenever we finally decide to call on Him He's always there. In fact, He anticipates our cry and has a solution already waiting. In this case His solution was Moses. Moses was born into the tribe of Levi, but was raised as an Egyptian. If you don't know the story you might want to read in Genesis how the captivity came about and in Exodus how God groomed Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. It should have been a fairly short journey from Egypt to the Promise Land, but a lack of faith in God's power kept them wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. Their lack of faith began soon after they left Egypt. They came to the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army was right behind them. God had done many miracles in order to free them from bondage, not the least of which was the blood of the lamb on their doorposts to protect them from death. Did they really think that He would forsake them at the Red Sea? He would perform yet another miracle by parting that sea so they could pass through it as if they were on dry land, but Pharaoh's army was drowned. God's miracle caused them to sing His praise. "Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him." Exodus 15:1-2. This song goes on praising God for what He had done for them. They weren't any different than us. When God does a great miracle our hearts soar and we sing His praises, but as soon as trouble comes our way we wonder why God has forsaken us. They went from the miraculous place of the Red Sea and travelled three days without water and complained. There is no mention of them praising God or asking for His guidance during these three days, but by their own efforts they came to Marah, but the water there was bitter. They murmured against Moses who finally went to the Lord. "And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, and said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee." Exodus 15:25-26. Our life can become bitter and we blame God. When we don't keep His laws we bring disease upon ourselves, such as AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, or liver problems from alcoholism, drug related craziness, and a long list of other ailments caused by our own sinful doings. God showed Moses a tree that would make the bitter turn to sweet, but hasn't He done that for us too? We have the tree of Calvary...the cross upon which our Lord was crucified and gave His life so we might live. Never forget the blood of the Lamb of God that was shed in order to bring us out of the captivity of sin and death and into new life through Him. God is always faithful and He led the Israelites to an oasis. "And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters." Exodus 15:27. This rest was short, and so were their memories. They left the comforts of Elim and where did they go next? "And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt." Exodus 16:1. The wilderness of Sin. This was a "place" not a "condition", but it is very symbolic of all people. Sin will always bring misery, and in that wilderness the Israelites became hungry. Instead of remembering the miracles, they murmured. "And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: and the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger." Exodus 16:2-3. They had forgotten the miserable conditions that caused them to cry out to God for deliverance. When things get rough we look back with selective memory to how wonderful the past was. When you're in pain from a hangover, do you remember how much fun the drunken party was? Or when the doctor says that you have AIDS do you think how bad God is because the wages of your sin is death? The Israelites had forgotten that meat and bread had been scarce in Egypt, and forgot the slavery. They blamed Moses, Aaron, and God for their troubles. Who do you blame? As always, God provided. He gave them manna. Every morning it would be there and they were to gather only enough for that day. If they gathered extra it would rot. Except on the sixth day they were to gather twice the amount they needed, because the seventh day was a day of rest. "And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat." Exodus 16:15. Manna. There's no big mystery about the definition; it means "What is it?". They hadn't seen it before, but by following God's instructions they had food every day for 40 years. We get a description of it later in Scripture. "And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium. And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil." Numbers 11:7-8. That doesn't really clear it up for me! I looked up the Hebrew word for "coriander" and it's defined as "a plant the seed of which resembles manna". Then I looked up "bdellium" and found it defined as "gum resin". Well, I still have to ask "What is it?". For the answer to that question, let's dig a little deeper. The children of Israel had taken cattle with them when they left Egypt. In fact, Moses made this part of the negotiations with Pharaoh. "And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God. Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither." Exodus 10:25-26. They took their cattle to serve the Lord, not for food. Animal sacrifice had been established with Adam and Eve and was the reason that Abel's sacrificed lamb was respected by the Lord but Cain's offering of fruit of the ground was rejected. When the Israelites got hungry they murmured, but would have starved rather than eat the cattle. God would soon establish a very strong law that required animal sacrifices as a blood offering, so for now God provided the bread from Heaven for food. The Israelites who followed Moses didn't fully understand the manna any more than the Jewish people who talked with Jesus understood who He was. "They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat." John 6:30-31. Some tried to understand who Jesus was, but their religion kept them blind. Like the children of Israel who escaped from slavery they kept murmuring and looking for signs. Jesus had just fed this crowd bread and fish through a miracle, but they still wanted signs. "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world." John 6:32-33. The Law of religion and sacrifice could never save them, but the Bread of Life will always save. Miracles and signs may get our attention, but to attain life everlasting we need the Bread of Life. That's what the people who had followed Jesus to Capernaum wanted. He had given them food for their stomachs, but now they wanted more. "Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6:34-35. He is the Bread of Life, the Living Water, the once for all sacrifice, the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world. "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:38-40. One would think that everyone who saw what Jesus did and heard what He said would immediately turn to Him for salvation, but that just isn't so. "The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven." John 6:41. They murmured in the wilderness, they murmured when Jesus walked the shores of Galilee, and they/we murmur today. This world is filled with people who are blind but in need of Manna to give them life. The manna the Israelites ate tasted like oil. Is this also symbolic of something deeper? In scripture, oil quite often symbolizes the Holy Spirit. So, the LORD (the Father) sent Bread from Heaven (Jesus Christ) that tasted like oil (the Holy Spirit). The children of Israel complained about this miraculous gift from God, but it was available to them wherever they went for 40 years. The Lord's gift began in the wilderness of Sin and sustained them until they entered the Promised Land. Today we need the Bread of Heaven to save us from sin and sustain us until we reach Heaven. Manna...what is it? Jesus Christ. Mistaken Identity - By Grant Phillips - http://www.raptureready.com/2017/09/20/mistaken-identity/ The most important thing any person can do is to make sure they know where they will spend eternity after their demise. I'm hearing more and more of people throughout the United States and in all walks of life claiming Heaven as their eternal destination after death, but having nothing to do with Christ and His Word while upon this earth. Jesus Christ is God. He is the one and only way to Heaven. There is no other way, regardless what we may think or someone else says. Jesus' Word is the Bible. It is all about Him. Every word in the Bible is from Him and He means precisely every word He says. Luke tells us that Jesus explained to Cleopas and his friend on the road to Emmaus all the things about Himself from the Scriptures (the Bible). "And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself." (Luke 24:27) From "Moses and all the Prophets" includes all the Old Testament and it is more than obvious that the New Testament is also all about Jesus in its entirety. Also the Apostle John tells us that the Word is Jesus and He is God. Therefore the Bible is the direct revelation of Jesus' Word to mankind. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1) However, many who claim to be a Christian do not live for Jesus; do not recognize Him as God; deny His virgin birth, deny His physical death, burial and resurrection; discard His Word the Bible as outdated fables; and that's just the introduction. These same people emphasize that God is love, and attempt to use that as a pretense to deny His judgment. They masquerade as saints, but live for the Devil, embracing the filth that can only come from the minds of evil beings. I say all this, not to be cruel, but to warn of the certain judgment on all who mistakenly identify with Christ but live for Satan. These folks reside in the halls of government, in front of the news prompter, on the cinematic screen, under the bright lights of sports, and let us not omit, even in the local churches, and the homes of everyday citizens. They come from all walks of life, thinking they can mouth a few magic platitudes and ignore the words of a holy God. All is lip service, but no heart service. They are mightily mistaken in thinking they stand tall before God, not accepting that only those who bow before God are His own. "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'" (Matthew 7:21-23) In my opinion, those who claim to speak on behalf of God, such as pastors, evangelists, and other speakers will receive the greater damnation because they are leading millions to hell while mispresenting a holy God. They are false prophets and their god is Baal. "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." (Matthew 7:15) The Lord tells us through the Apostle Paul to examine ourselves to make certain we are truly His. "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you-unless, of course, you fail the test?" (2 Corinthians 13:5) The Scriptures tell us that "not all who are descended from Israel are Israel, and the same is true of professing Christians. "It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel." (Romans 9:6) Not all who claim they are a Christian are a Christian. They are no more a Christian than the Devil they serve. God knows who are His, and He will cull out the pretenders from the masses and keep only His own. The Apostle John had this to say: "They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us." (1 John 2:19) When John said, "They went out from us," he isn't just saying that they left the local church. I'm sure that was part of it, but there are many in the churches today who sit in the pews and stand behind the pulpits but they have not remained true to Jesus, no more so than Judas did who was in the inner circle of original disciples. There are many like Judas today who claim to be a follower of Christ, but stab the Lord in the back at every opportunity that gratifies their own selfish desires. The putrid stink of sin is filling our land while the church sits back with laryngitis, cowering under the pews and behind the pulpits to the accusations of evil men. "God is love," they say! Yes! He most certainly is love, and He is also holy, pure, and righteous. He is God, and He is not to be mocked. Know this, He also sees past all the flimflam and looks into the deep recesses of the heart of man. From what I'm seeing going on all around us today, I'm afraid not many hearts are pure. Oh, we look good on the outside, but inside we are corrupt. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness." (Matthew 23:27-28) "Then the Lord said to him, "Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness." (Luke 11:39) Isn't it worth the eternal destination of our soul to examine ourselves to see if we are really in the faith? Isn't it important to know if we have mistaken our identity with Christ? If it is true that we have been pretending, isn't it about time we right the wrong and come to Jesus for forgiveness and then really follow Him? Don't let Satan mess with you like he did with Judas. Judas is in hell. Email: [email protected] Pre-Rapture Commentary: http://grant-phillips.blogspot.com Rapture Ready: http://www.raptureready.com/featured/phillips/phillips.html Daily Jot: Good news for a change - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com Sometimes it's just difficult to write about news from a Biblical and prophetic perspective. There is so much going on that is bad. We are bombarded with it 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's relentless. Some of it is legitimate. The hurricanes, earthquakes and other natural disasters seem to be stronger and more frequent than in the past. We need to pray for those who are impacted by these events. Other news is probably hardly necessary-the kind of news that is just critical opinion, casting people and their reputations in a dark light, making up stories based on an agenda, twisting events to make something worse than it is-just to get more eyes on the story than the next guy. But there is some good news. The good news is what we need to focus on in our daily lives. It is the news that breathes new life into us. It refreshes us and gives us hope to go forward. This type of good news can be a change agent. It can be inspiring. It's the type of thing that we need to keep focused that this life is worth living, that others around us have the same struggles, concerns, challenges that we do, but because of good news we can not only handle the day to day battles, but also help others to overcome them, too. It's only good news that keeps our minds healthy, our spirits strong, and a smile on our face as we contemplate the magnificent possibilities before us. This good news changes a bad day into a good one. Many people start their day reading or listening to the news. Many people finish their day reading or listening to the news. What a way to start and end the day with negativity. The news that is reported on local and national stations is just down-right depressing. It hits you from all sides. There are many people who just turn it off and refuse to let it in because it bothers them so much. That's hard to do because as good citizens, we need to be informed. So it's not good to just shut everything out. By now, you may be asking yourself, "Where do I find this good news? What website, radio station, TV channel is it on? Is it true? There is so much bad news being reported, where can I find the good news?" In fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah, Jesus opened the book in the synagogue in Nazareth and said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the good news (gospel) to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord." When we look at ourselves or others, do we see broken-heartedness, bondage, blindness, and spiritually or physically bruised? Remember Isaiah 52:7 proclaiming how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings the good news of salvation. Open up your Bible each morning. Finish your day with your Bible. It is life changing. Truly, it's good news for a change. Daily Devotion: Start Where You Are - By Greg Laurie - www.harvest.org "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise." -Proverbs 11:30 I once read that 95 percent of Christians have never led another person to Christ. Why is that? Someone might say, "I'm not gifted to be an evangelist." That may be true. But even though you may not be called to be an evangelist, you are called to evangelize. The idea of world evangelism can seem daunting and overwhelming, but it is doable. It's sort of like that old question about how you eat an elephant. The answer is one bite at a time. How do we reach the world with the gospel? One person at a time. God can use every one of us to bring people to Jesus Christ. Start where you are in the sphere of influence God has given you. Start by sharing your own personal testimony of how you came to Christ. I think we overcomplicate evangelism. If it were not possible to lead others to the Lord, then why would He call us to take His gospel to the world? Proverbs 11:30 tells us, "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise." And Daniel 12:3 says, "Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever." God wants to use you to turn people to righteousness. But as you share your testimony, emphasize what Jesus did. He gave up His life for us. The heartbeat of the gospel is that He died for us on that cross. Conversion is the work of God and God alone, yet He has called us to be a part of the process. Without God, man cannot. But without man, God will not-for the most part. God wants to reach people through people. FROM THE HEART
