We are being told directly and indirectly that this is "the age of enlightenment" where the freedom of expression is not bound by "old folksy traditions" and outdated standards of morality based on a nonexistent deity who would limit our rights to be what we want to be. Like the Dead Sea, where waters of a once pristine river find their way to a pool of detestable, lifeless corruption, this darkness seems to point its way from all directions ultimately into a cesspool of sexual immorality that is condemned by the God of Holy Scripture. The sexual revolution that is a constant reminder in current events tells us that homosexuality is good and wholesome, and everyone should embrace it as normal, even to be included in its practice. Gender identity is no longer readily recognized by the apparent physical condition of a person, but parents are to let the child decide what "he or she" wants to be. Or, should I say, what "they" want to be? School boards across the nation are struggling with bathroom rights for "trans-genders" and dress codes that allow girls to have more physical exposure, if they want to; and boys can wear makeup, if they want to. On the other hand, if the enticing appeal of a female results in a male's active attention, as she evidently desires, he is charged with "sexual harassment" or rape, if it goes that far. But what does God say about this sexual confusion and its ultimate end? There can be no misinterpretation of Romans 1:18-32: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man-and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. "Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them." The previous discussion in no way has exhausted full coverage of the topic, for it seems to be the root of most, if not all, of the "enlightenments" our modern culture would have us believe we now have embraced. Related to that is the gigantic fight to hold onto the right of abortion as a woman's choice. It is "pro-choice" or "pro-life" that is the issue in elections. One of the elements of darkness that is overshadowing the issue is this: If the 60 million or more abortions since Roe V. Wade in 1973 had not been performed, those people would have been working and paying into the dwindling Social Security fund so that it would not be facing looming bankruptcy. It is absurd to hang onto an excuse that the woman's health was at risk for every one of them. It is more obvious that it is merely a manner of birth control, in most cases. (Do you see how that issue dovetails into the sexual revolution trend?) It is also interesting how well this elimination of 60 million or more, just in America, fits into the intention of the New World Order proponents to effect the reduction of the world's population to a billion or less individuals in order to better control them. That is, if their plans come to pass. Solomon wrote, in Proverbs 9:10, "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom," and in Proverbs 8:13, "Fear of the Lord is to hate evil." The indictment of the Psalmist in Psalm 36:1: "Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God at all." John says, "...God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil" (John 3:19). Isaiah labeled his generation of Israelites as those who "call evil good and good evil" (Isaiah 5:20), and there has been no improvement over all the generations of the world's people ever since. Look at the evidence in this time in America. Intent on lawlessness seems to be like a shroud of darkness upon the land. In the political scenario today, the left-those self-acclaimed intellectuals who have thought themselves wise, as mentioned in the quotation from Romans 1:18-32 above-are desperately seeking to destroy President Trump and reverse his policies that have turned the nation around from the destruction obviously planned. Whether or not they are knowingly intending such actions is not a reason to excuse their behavior, for it seems to be the basic theory of the leftists. They say they want to impeach Trump on anything that will work without impacting them directly, then raise taxes on all people, and cancel the provisions that have returned factories and opened up the economy to the United States. That would result in many more people without jobs and sending them back to food stamps and welfare. But they hope to get their votes for such "benefits." Let's be clear on this: Donald Trump is not a man of God, but it is apparent he is God's man for this hour! If there is any reality of what is right and what is wrong in the whole world today, his opposition is vividly displaying those contrasting ideologies in their collective embrace of all that is unlawful and without moral integrity. It is as Jesus described the opposition to His offer in John 10:10: "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." But do not respond to this quote that I am saying everything of President Trump's changes of direction for the nation are holy and righteous. Just as with an individual, repentance at the national level is not instant and without struggle. The condemnation from the Psalms and in Romans 3:18 is that "there is no fear of God before their eyes." In the prophet Ezekiel's account of the anger of God upon the Israelites and His promise of a resulting judgment, he ends the many declarations from the Lord with these words: "Thus shall they know that I am the Lord God!" Ours is a culture that has written God out of its consideration as a viable entity, yet He is Sovereign of the Universe, the Creator, as Psalm 90:2 says: "Before the mountains were brought forth or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God!" The Scripture says in Psalm 75:6-8 that God sets one up and puts down another for the purpose of his judgment to come. Jesus prophesied that he would come to take His own to be with Him as the Day of the Lord begins with its judgments. In Luke 17:26-37 He says it will be a time of a surging economy and social well-being, not in a distressed, grinding down economy such as that of the Obama administration and that of the stated intention of the Hillary Clinton reign. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life" (John 8:12). When the Rapture occurs and Jesus comes for His own "as a thief in the night" and in the "twinkling of an eye," the promise to believers is that written in 1 Thessalonians 5:4: "But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief." Contact email: [email protected] Caroline Glick: Russia Raises the Stakes in Syria with S-300 Missiles -https://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2018/10/09/caroline-glick-russia-raises-the-stakes-in-syria-with-s-300-missiles/ Russia's sudden deployment of S-300 surface-to-air missiles in Syria last week raised the stakes in Syria significantly for the U.S. and Israel. While it is easy to conclude things have become far more dangerous, the fact is that there are certain important aspects of the situation on the ground that we just don't know. Before we consider what we don't know, it is important to understand what we do know about what has happened since a Syrian surface-to-air missile crew shot down a Russian IL-20 spy plane on September 17. Russia deployed forces and aircraft to Syria in 2015 to prevent the defeat of the Iranian-backed regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad in the Syrian civil war. Shortly after Russian forces arrived in Syria, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew to Moscow to work out a deconfliction mechanism with Russian President Vladimir Putin. That mechanism enabled the Israeli Air Force (IAF) to continue attacking Iranian military targets in Syria, as it had been doing since the outset of the war in Syria without coming into direct conflict with Russia. On September 17, the IAF bombed Iranian-Hezbollah targets in Syria's Latakia region. According to Israel, the IAF informed the Russians of its plan to attack 12 minutes before the raid took place, sufficient time for all Russian air and other assets to avoid danger. Ten minutes after the time that Israel claims its jets completed their mission and returned to Israeli air space, a Syrian crew manning a Russian-made S-200 surface to air missile battery shot down a Russian IL-20 spy plane. 15 Russian crew members on board were killed. Rather than carry out an investigation of the Syrian action, the Russian Defense Ministry and some Kremlin spokesmen immediately blamed Israel for the attack. Israel insists the attack was the result of indiscriminate missile fire by the Syrian crew. Putin, for his part, made no comment about the incident until the next day. In stark contrast to his Defense Ministry, in a statement he issued after speaking with Netanyahu, Putin absolved Israel of responsibility. In his words, "It rather looks like a chain of tragic accidental circumstances. An Israeli jet did not shoot down our plane." Following Putin's statement, Netanyahu sent a delegation led by IAF commander Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin to Moscow to personally brief the Russian Defense Ministry about the findings of Israel's own investigation into the incident. Norkin provided the Russians with detailed proof that Israeli aircraft were not in the area when the missile strike occurred. The Russian Defense Ministry rejected Norkin's data and stood by its own conclusion that Israel, not the Syrian S-200 crew, was responsible for the incident. Three days later, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that within two weeks, Russia would provide Syria with the S-300 surface to air missile system. He also said that Russia planned to jam radars of military planes striking from off the Mediterranean coast. In his words, "In regions near Syria, over the Mediterranean Sea, there will be radio-electronic suppression of satellite navigation, on board radar systems and communication systems of military aviation objects on Syrian territory." Eight days later, Shoigu announced that Russia had completed delivery of the S-300 system. These new Russian assets can undermine Israeli air assaults in both Syria and Lebanon while bringing Israel into direct confrontation with Russian forces. Moreover, with a tracking range that includes Europe, according to military analysts, the Russian electronic warfare and surface-to-air missile systems in Syria may threaten the U.S. operations in Syria and Iraq as well. The immediate implications of the Russian move are dire. On the one hand, Shoigu said that Russia will be training Syrian crews to man the systems. But given Syrian incompetence (as revealed by the S-200 strike), and the long training period, it is clear that for at least the next three months, the S-300 system will be operated directly by Russian crews. The electronic warfare systems he described will likewise be Russian operated. In other words, Russia is taking over direct responsibility for Syria's air defense. All operations within Russian-controlled air space will be met by Russian air defense teams. Russia's immediate and vicious response to the September 17 incident indicates that it was preplanned. Russia's Defense Ministry seem to have seized on the incident to take actions it had long intended to carry out. Indeed, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced in April that Russia was considering transferring the S-300 system to Syria following the U.S.-British-French air strikes carried out in retaliation for a Syrian chemical warfare attack. Russia's aggressive action has intimidated Israel into suspending its airstrikes in Syria. Although Israeli leaders have said repeatedly that Israel will not be deterred by the S-300 and will continue to attack Iranian targets to block Iran from entrenching its forces in Syria or transferring precision weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon, a senior Israeli official acknowledged to Breitbart News Sunday that Israel has not carried out any strikes in Syria since September 17. The S-300 deployment's impact on the U.S.-Russian balance of power in Syria is less clear. In late August, the Institute for the Study of War reported that at the time, Russian, Syrian and Iranian forces had deployed in the Deir Azzour region on the western side of the Euphrates River in preparation for an assault on U.S. and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) deployed on the eastern side of the river. U.S. forces at Tanf air base along the triborder area joining Jordan, Syria, and Iraq block Iran from transferring weapons and fighters to Syria overland from Iraq. U.S. forces in the Deir Azzour region block Russia from taking control of Syria's oil fields. In February, U.S. forces and allied SDF forces in the Deir Azzour area east of the Euphrates came under direct attack by a combined force comprised of Russian mercenaries from the private Wagner group; Syrian and Iranian forces; and Iranian-controlled militias. U.S. special forces in the area, assisted by Kurdish and Arab forces and reinforced by Marines, defeated the assault. Hundreds of Russian contract fighters were killed by a range of U.S. air and ground forces. In response to the renewed buildup of Russian, Iranian, and Syrian forces on the western bank of the Euphrates in late August, hundreds of Marines were deployed to Tanf, where together with U.S. special forces and SDF forces they carried out eight days of intense, live fire ground and air exercises. The exercise had the desired effect. The Russian, Iranian and Syrian forces stood down. But less than a week later, the Russians exploited the IL-20 downing to upgrade and take direct control over Syria's anti-aircraft systems in a manner that threatens both Israeli and American air operations. What we know about recent events highlights what we don't know. The following are two issues that require clarification before drawing any strategic conclusions about the current crisis. 1. What is going on with Putin? On the surface, it appears that Putin is a minority faction in the Kremlin. His friendly disposition towards Israel and Jews is clearly not shared by the Russian Defense Ministry. Israeli officials say the vicious attacks on Israel emanating from the Russian Defense Ministry show that Soviet-styled anti-Semitism remains the dominant view in Russian military circles. Was Putin overruled by the Defense Ministry? If so, what does that mean about his hold on power? What does that tell us about his capacity to make deals with Israel or the U.S. regarding Syria, Iran and other key issues? If Putin wasn't overruled, does that mean his apparent moderation is a ruse? Has he been playing a good-cop, bad-cop routine with his Defense Ministry to lull the U.S. and Israel into complacency and set the conditions for Russia to threaten U.S. operations and interests in the Middle East? It appears that at present Putin is becoming more hostile to Israel and the U.S. For instance, the Russians are reportedly seeking to use the new situation in Syria, where they are intimidating Israel into ceasing its offensive operations against Iran to force Israel to accept Russian mediation of the conflict between Israel and Iran. Given that Iran is Russia's ally, and that it seeks Israel's annihilation, it is impossible to imagine that Israel would be able to secure any of its strategic interest through such Russian-mediated contacts. Certainly the Russian initiative is designed to undermine U.S. leadership to curtail Iranian power. So long as Putin's position is unknown, it is impossible to estimate the likelihood of reaching a peaceful accommodation with Moscow. 2. Can the U.S. or Israel - or the two in conjunction - take action to defeat Russia's takeover of Syrian airspace while averting a direct confrontation with Russia? As Stephen Bryen explained at the Asia Times, the Syrian crews that may operate the S-300s are ill-equipped to handle the system. The system has no friend-or-foe identification (IFF) system. And it has a range that places Israel's Golan Heights in easy striking distance. A Syrian missile attack on Israel from the S-300 will likely cause a full scale war to break out. The Syrian crews' incompetence and the lack of friend-or-foe guidance makes the prospect of such a strike on Israeli territory, as well as further incidents of friendly fire against Russian aircraft, more likely. The Russians have warned Israel not to try to take out the S-300 systems. An Israeli move to do so under the current hostile conditions could easily spark a war. A U.S. strike could also make Russia feel compelled to unleash its Iranian and Hezbollah partners to attack Israel and U.S. forces. Israel and the U.S. have both claimed that they are capable of operating around the S-300. And in response to the S-300 deployment in Syria, according to some reports, the U.S. has moved F-35 stealth fighter jets to the region and agreed to provide Israel with additional F-35s from U.S. Air Force stocks. If the U.S. and Israel wish to avert the conflict that a direct assault on the S-300s would likely precipitate, they could conceivably simply use the F-35s to discredit the system. If the F-35 is capable of evading the S-300, then such operations would not only defeat Russia on the ground, but they could also potentially cause significant harm to Russia's reputation as an arms seller. Last week, India signed a deal to purchase Russia's S-400 surface-to-air missile system. How likely is that deal to come to fruition if the U.S. and Israel expose the failings of the S-300? What about Turkey's agreement to purchase the S-400? While these key issues remain unknown, there are low-risk moves the U.S. can take in response to Russia's adoption of a new, far more aggressive posture towards Israel and the U.S. that could serve to deter Russian adventurism and empower any moderate voices in Moscow that may have been sidelined since Sept. 17. First, the administration could recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. The move would empower Israel diplomatically and weaken the diplomatic position of Russia, Iran, and the Assad regime they control. Second, the U.S. can launch a campaign to withdraw international recognition of the Assad regime. Iran and Russia both base the legality of their operations in Syria on the fact that the Assad regime asked them to intervene in Syria. But the Assad regime only exists because of their support. In truth, they are foreign aggressors asserting control over Syria and using a local Syrian proxy to legitimize their aggression. A U.S.-led campaign internationally to withdraw recognition of the Assad regime and remove regime representatives from international forums, including the UN, could weaken the Russian-Iranian political position in significant ways. Third, the administration could ask Congress for a new, updated authorization for the use of force in Syria. Current authorization is based on the Obama administration's strategy in Syria. The Obama administration's strategy was to deploy U.S. forces to fight ISIS and take no action against Iranian or Russian forces in the country. A revision of the authorization of force to reflect the changing strategic challenges on the ground, including the entrenchment of Iranian and Iranian proxy forces, and the offensive posture that Russian forces in Syria have adopted against the U.S. and its allies, could have a deterrent effect on Russia. It would also enable more flexibility over time for U.S. forces both to defend themselves and advance the wider U.S. objective of bringing about the withdrawal of Iranian and Iranian proxy forces from Syria. Without clarity on Putin's position, the relative threat that the new Russian systems in Syria pose to Israeli and U.S. operations, and Israeli and U.S. options for evading and indirectly defeating the S-300 and the auxiliary electronic warfare systems Russia has now deployed in Syria against them, it is hard to assess the overall strategic balance of power in Syria. There are low-risk moves the U.S. can take to diminish Russia's appetite for conflict. But more must be known to develop a comprehensive strategy for contending with Russia's newly aggressive stance in Syria. Watchman Warning: Mob Brutality - By Hal Lindsey - https://www.hallindsey.com/ww-10-10-2018/ Senator Ted Cruz made a reservation for himself and his wife at a local Washington, DC restaurant. Someone at the restaurant told an Antifa group called "Smash Racism DC" that he would be there. Protestors gathered an hour before Senator Cruz arrived. They sat covertly in the restaurant's bar area while they waited. As the Senator and his wife approached their table, Antifa sprung its ambush. They chanted, "We believe survivors!" And they kept on robotically chanting those words throughout their attack. Those words, by the way, are almost meaningless. We all believe those we know to be survivors. But the rest of us have to measure evidence when deciding the validity of accusations. Here's what the group really means with that chant. "We believe all accusers." But even that's not entirely true. They apparently do not believe the accuser of Keith Ellison - the first Muslim elected to the US Congress and Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee. The protestors were in the faces of the Senator and his wife. They blocked the way, even as the couple tried to quietly leave the restaurant. But, of course, they shouldn't have had to leave at all. According to the Washington Post, waiters struggled to get the door open for the couple to leave. "Finally, the waiters got the door open, then slammed it shut again as soon as the Cruzes had walked out into the night. The crowd inside whooped. 'This is what'll happen to you if you support Kavanaugh!' a man warned the other patrons as they passed back through the bar." Smash Racism DC put out a statement later that night. It ended by saying, "This is a message to Ted Cruz, Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump and the rest of the racist, sexist, transphobic, and homophobic right-wing scum: You are not safe. We will find you." This is a violent threat made by violent people to violent ends. Last year, a man with a similar mindset attacked members of Congress practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity. He shot four people, seriously injuring Steve Scalise of Louisiana. Later, Senator Rand Paul was attacked by a neighbor, and beaten within an inch of his life. He had several broken ribs and a damaged lung. Over time, he developed pneumonia in that lung. His wife, Kelley, wrote, "The average person takes 20,000 breaths a day. Since November 3, my husband, Rand Paul, has not taken a single one without pain. He has not had a single night's sleep uninterrupted by long periods of difficult breathing or excruciating coughing." In recent days, US Senators have been threatened and accosted in the very halls of the US Capitol. A few days ago, a candidate for the Colorado State Senate was shot at while sitting in her vehicle. In Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, and other countries, violence has become a significant factor in elections. And now the United States stands oh-so-close to that same terrible reality. Jesus said the last days would be like the days of Noah and Lot. Genesis tells us that Noah's time was characterized by violence. We often associate the time of Lot with the prevalence of homosexuality. But it wasn't just that. It was also a time of violent mobs. Pray for America. And don't forget to pray for Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, and those other places living under the growing threat of political violence and mob brutality. Nearing Midnight: The Dollar's Amazing High-Flying Act - Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ The European Union has said the US dollar needs to be replaced as the global trading currency. The Russian government has said a switch to a new monetary trading system is needed. China has been working with several nations to supplant the greenback with one based on its currency. As hard as these nations try to replace the dollar, it still remains the central mechanism unit of global trade. The dollar is by no means a perfect currency. The government that controls the quality of dollars spends money like there is no tomorrow. On Sep 30, fiscal-year 2018 came to an end, and during that 12-month period, the debt load of the federal government increased by $1,271,158,167,127; feds borrowed $8,172 per every American with a Job. This has been the largest spike in red ink since the dark days of the 2008 Subprime Crisis. It is amazing that we have such a huge shortfall during a time of positive GDP growth. During a recession, tax revenues decline because millions of people lose their jobs and because companies lose money or go bankrupt as their sales collapse. Also during a recession, government expenditures surge because of an increase in support payments such as unemployment compensation and food stamps. The next time we have a recession, the deficit will likely be between $2 to $3 trillion. The ability of the US government to produce massive deficits without any impact on the dollar has calmed concern over deficit spending. I was shocked when I learned that Trump had quietly signed last week a spending bill that allowed the government to continue the red ink. In the past, there would be a great amount of debate over the raising of any major debt ceiling. Some people would argue that deficits never matter, because the U.S. has a monopoly creation of dollars, and it isn't at risk of being forced to default on its debt. So as long as inflation remains low, there's room to buy all the iPhones we want from China. The only reason why the dollar has value is because of trust. By having a trade deficit of $500 billion each year, we have put $10 trillion in the hands of our trading partners. US banks have made another $10 trillion in loans that are based on the greenback. The world is so flooded with dollars, no other currency can achieve the same level of liquidity. Sea shells are very abundant, and they would make a great currency in term of liquidity. In order for a currency to have value, it needs to be in limited supply. The reason why we don't use Monopoly money alongside the dollar is because Parker Brothers would run their printing presses 24/7 if people actually applied value to their currency. I think it is an absolute miracle that the US dollar has not already collapsed. It is a basic law of economics that if you print too much debt, your national currency goes down in value. There are several nations that are currently suffering massive devaluation of their currency. The Argentine peso has been in sharp decline. That nation's central bank rate has hiked interest rates to 60% to prop up the currency. Argentina's currency problems are the result of a $3.7 billion shortfall in its budget. The U.S. has a deficit 343 times greater, and our currency has been in an uptrend for several months. If I had any doubt that the hand of God was guiding the path of the American dollar, Trump's announcement of a five-way trade war with China, Europe, Mexico, and Canada made things clear. Nothing less than divine monetary intervention was required to keep a meltdown from occurring. We have a $375 billion trade deficit with China, and Trump said it is a "privilege" to trade with America. Clearly, either God has a sense of humor or Trump understands the dollar's connection to prophecy. The Bible doesn't clearly state that the Antichrist will come to power from a global financial crisis. Because the Beast of Revelation will very quickly gain total control over the global economic system, it is logical to assume that some type of calamity would aid his sudden rise to power. Our ability to see a monetary storm coming from this side of the rapture provides further evidence that the world is headed toward an end-time crash. "He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels" (Daniel 11:43). "Through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; and he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity" (Daniel 8:25a). All along the way, we have encountered Islam-harassment, threats, bullying, women and child trafficking, and very perilous situations. This is why the mainstream churches are afraid to help those less fortunate in the rural areas. Quite frankly, it's dangerous. Now the Muslims are stealing land from poor villagers-topsoil and sand, which they sell for profit. This is what William wrote me Friday: "At the Islamic front, the plot thickens, and Mary is beginning to be concerned about my safety there. Today, I went to take a look at the devastation the Muslims caused when they bulldozed the top soil away at the village. I took pictures, and the spectacle wasn't good. Muslims hold villagers in check as they strip the surrounding they do not own of all its topsoil for profit "I also traveled through various villages bringing in building materials and saw massive destruction of land all over the place. These guys come with bulldozers and begin digging sand away from buildings and structures, destroying farms and all, leaving deep craters around. It's an unbelievable happening! They came to the village on three consecutive days this week. "Today, the village church pastor told me a group of Motor-riding Muslims stormed into the village after a sand winning spree and started asking people around for him, the pastor. He was seated right there under the hut, but the village folks told the Muslim riders the pastor had gone to town. They said they would be back, and made a dramatic exit Hollywood-style. I have thought it wise not to drive there frequently. I either take taxi or ride piggyback. Above notwithstanding, duty calls and in a few hours I will be setting off again to supervise work [at the church]. I am not afraid of happenings there. What I am afraid of is not doing God's work to spread His word! The rest is up to Him!" This is where we are assisting the villagers in Busuafise with their church. William noted that these Muslims are armed with machetes and pistols, and "have formed themselves into various groups--illegal sand winners, notorious land guards, village raiders, forced marriage and child marriage contractors, harassing beasts, land jihadists, etc.--spread across the length and breadth of villages." This is why the church in Busuafise is so important. It is the light of Christ surrounded by hostility of the most anti-Christ religion on earth. These are Ephesians 6:13 people: "Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Their "evil day" is every day-they lack food, clothing, clean water, and, now, the land beneath their feet. Still they stand. And we stand with them. There was trash everywhere-trash piled on top of trash-not to mention the vermin. It was a mess. That is a little what Planet Earth was like morally and spiritually in Noah's day. It stunk to high Heaven. Genesis 6 tells us that God actually was sorry that He had made mankind. Why was He sorry? Verse 5 gives us the answer: "Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (NKJV). It was only evil, not occasionally evil. There weren't even occasional good thoughts that gripped them. It was evil layered upon evil layered upon evil. In fact, the Hebrew phrase used here could be translated to say that wickedness had reached a high degree, or the highest pitch. As a result, God was about to bring judgment on the earth. Why would a loving God bring judgment? Because not only is God loving, but He is also just. As Abraham said correctly, "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" (Genesis 18:25 NKJV). If people can flagrantly and continually break God's laws, murdering and destroying and perverting everything that is right, is it beneficial for God to turn away and do nothing? Actually, it makes no sense. God is good. God is loving. God is righteous. And God is just. When God spoke to Noah, things were as bad as they possibly could be. Noah was a last-days believer who showed us that we can live godly lives in an ungodly world. He lived a righteous life in an unrighteous place, shining as a bright light in the darkest circumstances imaginable.
