The Feast of Tabernacles - A Bible Study by Jack Kelley -
https://gracethrufaith.com/topical-studies/holidays-and-holy-days/the-feast-of-tabernacles/ The Feast of Tabernacles takes place each year beginning five days after Yom Kippur and lasts for over a week. Adherents to tradition make a shelter in their back yard of branches and leaves decorating it with fruit and vegetables to commemorate the time when the Lord dwelt with them in the wilderness. Then they at least take their meals in the shelter and perhaps spend a night or two as well. For this reason, Tabernacles is sometimes called the Feast of Booths. Being a fall feast, Tabernacles also celebrated the harvest in ancient Israel and in fact was the inspiration for the Thanksgiving Day celebrations held in the US and other countries. Let's Have A Party Additionally, Tabernacles was the crowning event in the series of fall feasts that began with Rosh Hashanah, or New Year, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. As Yom Kippur was a solemn and awe-inspiring day, Tabernacles was a time of celebration and thanksgiving. The Lord had freed their forefathers from the bondage of slavery in Egypt, He had given them a bountiful harvest, and He had accepted their annual sacrifice for the sins of the people. It was time for a party. And what a party it was. The Israelites came from all over the nation to Jerusalem to celebrate for an entire week. They built their booths on every available piece of ground and the aroma of delicious foods cooking over open fires permeated the whole city. For seven days where ever you went, there was an air of joy and festivity as the people remembered El Shaddai (God our Provider) and gave thanks. You might wonder how they could drop everything and take a whole week off to celebrate. Simple; the Lord picked up the tab. In three passages from Deuteronomy, He explained how He was going to do this, commanding the people to put aside one-tenth of their annual production for Him. (Deut. 8:6-18, 12:4-7, 14:22-29). He called it their tithe. Then they were to take the Lord's tithe to Jerusalem each fall after the harvest and use it for a big feast to celebrate His blessings upon them. The reason He commanded them to separate the tithe was that He wanted to remind them it was His. Also if He hadn't required them to do so, most wouldn't have set anything aside for the feast. It would all have been absorbed into their living costs and they would have missed out on the celebration. Obviously, the Lord didn't need their money. He only wanted them to remember Who had blessed them. By celebrating, they were reminded. Further, He commanded that the celebration be at His house, not theirs, so they wouldn't start thinking they had created their own blessings. What about the Poor? Every third year, instead of celebrating they gave the tithe to the priests in their city to help the poor and indigent, first within the community and then from among their visitors. There was always enough to last until the next contribution three years later. Because it felt good to obey, they learned the joy of giving. When it came time to donate the tithe to the poor, they did so with a generous spirit, knowing that they were giving away the Lord's share, not theirs. (It's always easier to be generous with someone else's money.) Because each community helped its own poor directly everyone got the help they needed, and the people could see the effect of their generosity. What About Now? Contrast that with the way of giving today. We no longer believe that one-tenth is the Lord's and we no longer credit Him for our blessings. We think we're being asked for some of our own money, and we're not clear about the benefit. We're told that the Lord's work will be hindered without our help. He's portrayed as a cash-poor beggar in some circles and as an inflexible creditor in others. This approach makes us feel bad. We resent being made to feel guilty so we give only as much as is necessary to ease our guilt. No wonder the joy has gone from our giving. Some "religious" groups even require 10% of their members' income and conduct periodic audits to make sure they're getting it all. Some even teach that tithing is evidence of salvation. It's the most glaring example of man's religion working at cross-purposes with the intent of God's laws. A Blessing or a Curse? Today, tithing is thought by many to be a curse for believing rather than a celebration for blessing. People go around looking for a church that "doesn't talk about money all the time." Because they never learn the true purpose of their giving, they are deprived of the blessings of abundance the Lord promises to those who "bring the whole tithe into the storehouse." (Malachi 3:9-10 & Luke 6:38) For its part, the church merely survives when it should thrive. (The church would actually receive more income and their members would be a lot happier doing things the Lord's way) And perhaps most sadly, those in need don't receive the help from the church they could otherwise have-help that could have come in the name of the Lord, and perhaps prompted a life change in the heart of the recipient. Satan wins again. The Rainmaker Because it doesn't rain in Israel from about the end of May till the middle of October, somewhere along the way a Water Libation Ceremony was incorporated into the Feast of Tabernacles celebrations. Each day a contingent of priests all dressed in white would go out from the Temple to the Pool of Siloam and with a silver pitcher would take some water from the pool back to the Temple. There a paving stone beside the altar had been removed just for this event. Arriving at the altar, a priest would pour the water from the silver pitcher upon the ground where the paving stone had been. As the dry ground absorbed the water the priests would pray for rains to moisten the fields in preparation for the fall planting. Thousands of people watching the ceremony would join in, praying and singing praises to God. On the last day of the Feast, the High Priest Himself would officiate in all his finery, and the entire priesthood would follow him to the pool and back, singing and playing their instruments. On this day the pitcher was golden and the whole nation would be in attendance. Compare it to a sports stadium of today, packed to the rafters with spectators, all watching as the High Priest lifted the golden pitcher high over his head to pour the water into the ground near the altar. And then as with one voice, they would break into song praising God and praying for rain. Talk about a joyful noise! Then one year something happened as the priest was pouring the water that stunned the crowd and literally shocked them into silence. Listen to John's eyewitness account. "On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ' If anyone is thirsty let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.' By this He meant the Spirit Whom those who believed were later to receive." (John 7:37-39) On hearing His words, some of the people said, " Surely this man is the Prophet." Others said, "He is the Christ." (John 7:40) Even the Temple guards were impressed. Being rebuked for letting Jesus disrupt the ceremony, they declared, "No one ever spoke the way this man does." And so on the Feast of Tabernacles, it's fitting that we remember Jesus, the God Who dwells within us, the Giver of every good and perfect gift, and the Source of living water. O Lord, save us! O Lord, grant us success. Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord. From the House of the Lord we bless you. (Psalm 118:25-26) 'Smokescreening' - Israel's False Friends - By Manfred Gerstenfeld/Algemeiner.com - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=3526 Smokescreening, the false pretense of friendship toward Israel, is a common practice. Practitioners include US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, former US president Barack Obama, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. There is also a mirror phenomenon in which Israeli leaders identify smokescreeners as friends, as when Israeli president Reuven Rivlin called German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier a "true friend of Israel." Smokescreening is a widespread activity in both politics and society, yet it is mainly looked at as an individual hypocrisy rather than analyzed as a systematic phenomenon. Israel is regularly subjected to smokescreening. Sanders is a super-smokescreener. He claims he is 100 percent pro-Israel and says Israel has every right in the world to exist in peace and security and not be subjected to terrorist attacks. He also says the US must be more "evenhanded" in how it approaches the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He implies, but does not state outright, that the US should avert its eyes from genocide-promoting Hamas, the largest Palestinian Islamist movement, and from Palestinian terror attacks supported by financial rewards from the Palestinian Authority. Sanders has said, "It's not antisemitic to criticize Israel for electing a right-winger like Netanyahu," and has called Netanyahu's government "racist." Yet he does not address the racism in large parts of Palestinian society. Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority (PA), is an extreme racist. He has pledged that there will be no Israelis in the prospective Palestinian state, saying, "In a final resolution, we would not see the presence of a single Israeli -- civilian or soldier -- on our lands." Sanders is silent on this. Sanders has said that the Palestinians deserve to be treated with "dignity and respect." He does not explain how people who are 93 percent antisemitic, according to a 2014 global study conducted by the ADL, merit that dignity and respect. Sanders' smokescreening of Israel warrants a full article of its own. Another major smokescreener toward Israel is Barack Obama. While president of the US, he visited Israel in March 2013. He said at the Jerusalem Convention Center, "I bring with me the support of the American people, and the friendship that binds us together." He added, "As the president of a country that you can count on as your greatest friend, I am confident that you can help us find the promise in the days that lie ahead." In that same Jerusalem speech, Obama openly bent the truth. He said, "But while I know you have had differences with the Palestinian Authority, I believe that you do have a true partner in President Abbas and Prime Minister Fayyad. Over the last few years, they have built institutions and maintained security on the West Bank in ways that few would have imagined a decade ago. So many Palestinians -- including young people -- have rejected violence as a means of achieving their aspirations." A few months later, Abbas would push Fayyad out. In 2008, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Abbas discussed a peace agreement. Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, who was present at the negotiations, told PA TV that Olmert accepted all the PA's demands. He even offered Abbas a little more than the full area of the West Bank. Erekat said he told Abbas to accept the extremely generous proposal, but Abbas rejected it. In December 2016, in one of his last acts as president, Obama had the US abstain from voting on a major anti-Israel UN Security Council motion. The proposal demanded an immediate halt to all settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Through the abstention, Obama enabled the measure to pass. Donald Trump had already been elected president and would be installed a few weeks later. Trump had made it clear that he opposed the resolution and notified the White House, to no avail. American law expert Alan Dershowitz said the former president told him he would always protect Israel, yet he believes Obama hurt the Jewish state with the abstention. He said, "President Obama's decision on the way out to allow the United Nations to condemn Israel for occupying the Western Wall, the holiest place in Judaism, the Jewish Quarter, Hebrew University, the Hadassah Hospital bypass road, was abominable." In Europe, German politicians are among the foremost smokescreeners in regard to friendship with Israel. In view of the genocide of six million Jews in the grandfather generation, some leading Germans feel they cannot easily express negative opinions about Israel. A fully researched article about smokescreening by Germans, including leading individuals, is needed. German politicians often appear to feel the need to pretend that their country is an almost unconditional friend of Israel. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a Christian Democrat, has said Israel's security is part of Germany's national ethos. The reality is far from that. As head of the German government, Merkel leads German policymaking. The German daily Bild pointed out that Berlin regularly sides with Israel's enemies at the UN. In November 2018, of 21 UN General Assembly resolutions against Israel, 16 were supported by Germany; it abstained on four. Merkel is also a smokescreener as far as the fight against antisemitism is concerned. Despite significant German right- and left-wing antisemitism, she has welcomed far more than a million refugees since 2015 -- many from the Arab world. The percentage of antisemites among these immigrants is much higher than that of the indigenous population. There are probably more prominent smokescreeners of friendship toward Israel in the other German government party, the socialists (SPD). A current example is Foreign Minster Heiko Maas. He has often said Auschwitz inspired him to go into politics, yet many German votes against Israel in the UN General Assembly have taken place under his authority. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, has attacked Maas' behavior frontally: "Before he invokes Auschwitz again, he should go back and reread history. We expected much more from Foreign Minister Maas. Unfortunately, we find him on the wrong side of the tracks of the existential threats that Israel is facing every day. " Cooper added, "With all due respect, it is time for the German foreign minister to drop his assertion that it was the lessons of Auschwitz that propelled him into public life. He clearly has not applied any of the lessons to the current situation. Instead of weakening the tyrannical, genocidal regime in Tehran, he is doing everything to strengthen Iran. His instructions to the German UN ambassador are not those of a friend of a Jewish state." The "mirror" or "reverse" phenomenon also exists. Some Israeli leaders make the huge mistake of calling people who are smokescreeners "friends." President Reuven Rivlin called German socialist president Frank-Walter Steinmeier "a true friend of Israel" during his visit to the Jewish state in 2017. While FM, Steinmeier was responsible for a flood of German condemnations of Israel at the UN. More recently, Steinmeier "congratulated the Iranian government cordially on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the revolution, also in the name of my fellow country citizens." The daily Tagesspiegel wondered whether one had to remind Steinmeier that "Iran is a sponsor of international terrorism, threatens Israel with destruction, denies the Holocaust, oppresses women, executes homosexuals, and punishes religious conversions with death." The paper concluded: "The moral compass that should guide the words of a president of the German republic has in this case greatly failed." To put the congratulation of the Iranian government in even more perspective: When Donald Trump was elected US president in November 2016, Steinmeier, then FM, explicitly said he would not congratulate him. Israeli leaders have found many ways to express gushing praise for people who are far from friendly toward Israel. When Shimon Peres, then Israel's president, visited Norway in 2014, he stated nonsensically, "Norway is the pearl of humanity, built on human values, and seeks to keep people equal and free." A report, published in 2012 by the Norwegian Center for Studies of the Holocaust and Religious Minorities and paid for by the government, found that 38 percent of Norwegians believe Israel acts toward the Palestinians as the Nazis behaved toward the Jews. The tiny Norwegian Jewish community has suffered from substantial antisemitism in the country supposedly "built on human values." Nearing Midnight: A Restraining Force - Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ Each morning in my prayer time, I am prompted to ask that the Lord continue to restrain the evil coming against His prescription for godliness. That evil seems to be closing in like an eerie, early morning fog. But unlike such naturally occurring, gathering opaqueness, the increasingly darkening supernatural mist that is engulfing life in America today harbors genuine threat. There are real bogeymen who intend harm lurking in that satanically spawned fog. The Lord of Heaven didn't put the following in His Word without good reason: And now ye know what [restrains] that [Antichrist] might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now [restrains] will [restrain], until [the Restrainer] be taken out of the way. And then shall [Antichrist] be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. (2 Thessalonians 2:6-9) All the Christian needs do to discern that this generation is being enveloped by the end-times "mystery of iniquity" fog described in the Apostle Paul's above warning is to consider his "perilous times" forewarnings. Let us again examine just a couple of these characteristics of end-time man given in Paul's prophecy: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. (2 Timothy 3:1-8) "Lovers of Self" This characteristic is made manifest by social media. Facebook and all other forums hold captive the minds-particularly of Millennials, many of whom live daily in deep concentration on drawing attention to themselves. This "universe of self" opens their souls to invasion by the original being that had "I trouble." Lucifer and his many "I wills" (Isaiah 14: 14) wishes to infect every human with this attempt to take attention away from God and His prescription for conducting life in the proper way. The fallen one, through social media forums, has found a very effective conduit for funneling the minds of human beings into channels other than those leading to godliness. "Unholy" This characteristic made its infectious influence known just a week or two ago. We remember the thirty-one-year-old Dallas police officer who shot and killed an African-American man in his apartment. The officer claimed she thought she was entering her own apartment and found her door unlocked. A figure came at her from within the darkened apartment, and she shot what she believed to be an attacker with her service revolver. Having heard all that's been said about the case, I do believe this is exactly what happened. But, she was convicted of murder and given a 10 year sentence. In a most touching scene following the sentencing, the victim's brother, an eighteen-year-old young man, witnessed to the woman who had killed her brother, forgiving her and urging her to accept Christ. The judge who had just sentenced her, equally moved to compassion, followed suit in hugging the condemned woman, as did the victim's brother, then the judge gave the woman a Bible to take with her as she served her time. The crowd outside the courtroom was outraged at the light sentence and at the judge for her compassion. The Freedom from Religion Foundation was even more enraged in the legal sense and sought to condemn with ethic violations the judge, who happened to be an African-American like the victim and his young brother. This rage was directed at the Bible and how the judge had "crossed the line" in giving the book to the girl. This is an infection that now permeates much of American culture and society. It is an unholy characteristic that will one day bring God's wrath and judgment. This corrosive, stifling, corrupting toxic cloud of evil has the effect of dividing America. The political effects are the ones that are usually at the heart of my asking for the Lord to restrain the evil. Never in my memory-and, I believe, never in American history- has there been such a powerful, all-out assault against a president. The attackers are almost as one in opposing anything that the God of Heaven has given in His Holy Word about how life should be conducted. These who assault, for the most part, want to cast aside America's founding principles-principles the early fathers used to form this republic. To the discerning spirit, this is an alert pointing to which side of this national divide is the right side to join. Recently, Hal Lindsey wrote of this divide. He said that so far it isn't as bad as the Civil War in terms of guns actually being turned on each other. However, he said the following: But in one way, our situation is worse. Even though divided over slavery, Americans of 1861 held to a similar set of values. In his second inaugural address, President Lincoln said that northerners and southerners, 'read the same Bible and pray to the same God.' Not anymore. The Bible doesn't list the United States as a major player in world politics during the Tribulation. For that reason and others, I have been saying for a long time that the United States will be drastically weakened by the time of the Tribulation. Some prophecy teachers have predicted nuclear war, or that some other weapon of mass destruction will be used against America. Many of us have hoped that between now and the Rapture, so many Americans will come to Christ, that their disappearance at the Rapture will cause the problem. ("Divide and Destroy," Hal Lindsey, https://www.hallindsey.com/ww-10-3-2019/) I am one of whom Hal writes. Rather, I was one of whom he writes. By that, I mean that I no longer believe it is simply the number of Christians inhabiting America that keeps America afloat as a nation-state-i.e., it isn't the loss of Christians in large numbers that will bring America down into catastrophic collapse. We seem to be a diminishing segment of American culture in the sense of governing influence. It is rather that invincible, supernatural Restraining Force alone, who resides within each believer in Christ, whose voluntary removal from earth will allow that noxious cloud of mysterious iniquity to, for a time, seemingly take over planet earth. That Restraining Force indwells each person who names the Holy Name of Jesus Christ-that is, each person who is born again from on high. Invoke His Name in your time of prayer. Ask that the Restrainer continue to hold back the fog of evil trying to swamp this generation, thus to choke any possibility of eternal life from every unregenerate human being. Thankfully, that Restraining Force, the Holy Spirit, is alive and well, and is not willing for anyone to perish, but wants all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Trump's Syria Pullout: Great for Israel says Jerusalem's Top Middle-East Expert - By David Sidman - www.breakingisraelnews.com Shaul and the troops with him assembled and rushed into battle; they found [the Philistines] in very great confusion, every man's sword turned against his fellow. (Samuel 1 14:20) While many in the pro-Israel community have been decrying President Trump's decision to withdraw US troops in northern Syria to make way for a Turkish invasion, Guy Bechor, one of Israel's most respected Middle East experts says that ironically, Israel stands to benefit significantly from the move in an interview on Channel 13's Morning Show. In the interview, Dr. Bechor argues that most pundits in Israel don't understand what's really going on regarding the whole Trump/Kurd saga and that many of them are biased because they hate President Trump. "If Erdogan would have invaded Syria and killed US troops, they would have said that he dragged the US into an unnecessary war" Bechor explains "He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't". Bechor then went on to explain that the balance of power between Sunni states like Turkey has been offset by Shiite powers like Iran. "But what Trump did was impose sanctions to weaken Iran, thus weakening the Shiites. However, there is no one to fight on the ground to stop those same Shiites. Then Erdogan told Trump that he is entering Syria as a Sunni power and to send thousands of Sunni soldiers inside." Those troops he noted, are the Turkish backed Syrian Rebels. This presented a great opportunity for Trump Bechor added. That's because the decision to withdraw troops in Syria kills two birds with one stone. On the one hand, Trump is "evacuating the US troops, which was (Trump's) campaign promise. I am also injecting a Sunni force into Syria that will challenge (Syria's Shiite affiliated leader) Assad." And since Syria is Iran's client state Iran is very concerned by the move noted Bechor adding that the Islamic Republic even announced that they will fight Erdogan's forces. This means that Iranian proxies like Hezbollah are going to have to refocus their efforts to fight the Turkey's Sunni forces in the North which is "good for Israel" he explained. Regarding the Kurds, Bechor reminded the show's host, Avri Gilad, that the Kurds in northern Syria are currently colluding with Assad and that the Kurds always flee when the going get tough. "As Napoleon once said: 'Never interfere with an enemy while he's in the process of destroying himself.'. Why get interfere?" he concluded. Daily Jot: End time players in Syria--is the end near? - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com The New York Times has written a blistering critique of President Trump's pull out of troops along the Syrian border that has resulted in not only Turkey trying to eliminate Kurds, but also firing on remaining US military and placing US nuclear weapons housed in Turkey at risk. The Times says it is rare to see the impact of a foreign policy decision so quickly, and that the move helped Russia, Syria and Iran. The past three presidents foreign policy decisions, however, have caused turmoil in the Middle East-Iraq invasion by Bush; Arab Spring by Obama; and now Turkey invasion by Trump. All helped Russia, Syria and Iran continue to gain an edge. The Trump move also helps Turkey and coalesces a prophetic force. In Daniel 8:19, Gabriel says, "Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. The ram which you saw having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. And the rough goat is the king of Grecia." Strong's Concordance interprets the word "Grecia" in Hebrew as "Yavan, a son of Japheth (the third son of Noah), his descendants and their land." The Genesis 10 table of nations indicates this area was not only Greece (as Bible interpretations imply), but also the Eastern Mediterranean, including parts of modern Turkey (Magog, Tubal, Meshech). The ram would correspond with modern Iran. According to the prophet Isaiah (17:1), "The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." Many point to this verse to speculate when and how Damascus will be destroyed. There has been a lot of talk that this is the time that perhaps Isaiah's prophecy will be fulfilled. Damascus, after all, is hardly a city nowadays. It is maintaining a heartbeat after years of civil war and fighting that includes various al Qaeda terrorist groups, Hezbollah from Iran, Russian interests, American interests, Turkey, the Islamic State, and, of course the Assad government. Ezekiel 38 says that in the end of days, God will put a hook in Gog of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (all in Turkey), to lead a coalition of Persia (Iran), Libya; and Ethiopia (Sudan) against Israel. The ingredients for the end time battle are amassing, but a careful read of the scriptures in their context would reveal that the end is not yet. The words "in that day" and "on that day" are significant because they correspond to the Day of the Lord, such as Gabriel's interpretation saying "for at the time appointed the end shall be." These current events are bringing together many of the end-time players, but according to the prophets, it is not yet the end. There are many events Jesus describes in Matthew 24 that must occur. Another consideration is that in all the prophets' descriptions of these wars and battles, it is God, not men, who destroys Israel's enemies: Isaiah 17:7 and Ezekiel 38:23 both say that men will know their maker and nations shall know "that I am the Lord." Keep watching and praying. These are prophetic times. Daily Devotion: Where Fearless Courage Comes From - by Greg Laurie - www.harvest.org I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.-Psalm 63:4 The story of Daniel in the lion's den is so familiar that we can almost dismiss it as a fable of some kind. But this is a real story that actually took place. And one of the takeaway truths we discover from it is that God did not deliver Daniel out of the lion's den; He delivered him in it. Sometimes God will take us out of our problems. But there are other times when He will be with us as we're facing our problems, as we're walking through them. That was the case with Daniel. The Lord was with him in that den of lions, as were some angels, and out of the worst conceivable situation came the ultimate good. Maybe nothing stands out more in this story of Daniel than this one simple fact: Daniel was a man of prayer. Yes, he was a spiritual man. Yes, he was a purposeful man. Yes, he was a persecuted man. But let's not miss the fact that he was a praying man. And when Daniel learned about a new law that banned praying to anyone but the king, what did he do? Daniel 6:10 gives us the answer: "But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God" (NLT). Just as he had always done . . . Daniel had done this from his youth, and he still was doing it in his later years. When he knelt down on his knees, he received his fearless courage. This reminds us of a simple truth: If you kneel before God, you can stand before any man. FROM THE HEART
