There has been much discussion as of late on whether or not the United States is found in Bible prophecy. How does the world's most powerful, Christian, and Israel-friendly nation not warrant a mention as a key player in the last days? If the US is in Bible prophecy, what role does she play? If she is not, then why not? What happens to her vast natural resources, advanced technology, military arsenal, and able-bodied citizens? Considering these questions, there are biblically sound and astute teachers on both sides of the issue who either believe that the US is Mystery Babylon, or that we are not in the picture at all. Those in the camp of us being Babylon (mystery or otherwise), seem to make good points for that case (see here). Probably the strongest reason why we could be is that the Jews are told to come out of her. As of 2017, the largest concentration of Jewish people outside of Israel is in the United States. While at the same time, there are practically no Jews in what was traditional Babylon (Iraq) thanks to the likes of Al Qaeda, ISIS, and other militant Islamic groups. So how could they come out of her (Babylon), if they are not in there, to begin with? Those in the camp who believe we are not in the prophetic picture at all (see here) believe so for a variety of reasons. The most obvious reason for saying the US is not in Bible prophecy is that there is no explicit mention of any nation (in the geopolitical sense) that matches our description in the prophetic texts concerning the last days. While a number of doomsday scenarios could pose an existential threat to the United States, none (in my opinion) threaten to so suddenly upend the traditional global order as the Rapture of the Church. The threat has been gravely underestimated in books like the "Left Behind" series and other popular eschatological material. Underestimated not because of the percentage of how many Americans are raptured up, but by what immediately follows. Assessment Speculation abounds as to what the percentage will be for those believers who will be caught up. Some think as low as one percent while others think as high as twenty-five percent. The percentage then has become sort of a measuring stick by which we could determine whether or not the US survives the Rapture event and go on to play a major role in the 70th Week of Daniel. I tend to think around ten percent of the US population will be raptured, but even then that means around thirty million Americans (by current population standards) would instantaneously disappear. But regardless, the how is less important than the why in regards to our potential role in the Tribulation. What is of utmost importance is realizing that once the Rapture does occur, the restraining ministry of the Holy Spirit is also removed (2 Thess. 2:6-8). This does not mean that the Holy Spirit disappears from the earth altogether. The Holy Spirit is omnipresent and cannot, not be everywhere. The Holy Spirit was on the earth prior to the day of Pentecost and He will be here after the Rapture event. What it means is that the mystery of iniquity (or lawlessness) that is active in the world today, is at the same time actively being hindered by God's power through His people. We are salt and light to a world that will quickly be engulfed in darkness once the Rapture occurs. But after the Rapture, lawlessness will no longer be hindered. Lawlessness will go unchecked and the world will quickly move in one accord under the direction of Satan who will rapidly form that final world system. Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours." Luke 4:5-7 The idea that the world first experiences the Rapture then sees the unleashing of the four horsemen matches perfectly with what Paul is shown concerning the order of events. The man of sin cannot be revealed until we (the body of Christ) is removed. This is why we see John record the Revelation in the manner which he does (Rev. 1:19):
Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. Revelation 6:1-2 The first horse out of the gate is the man of sin riding the white horse. He seemingly takes advantage of a crisis already in progress. How long the crisis lasts between the Rapture and his arrival is unknown. We know that the actual 70th Week does not start at the Rapture, but with a covenant that is signed between Israel and the nations (Dan. 9:27) which he will ultimately violate halfway through. The man of sin will then become the son of perdition once Satan physically possesses him at the midway point. At present time, it is impossible for us to know who this man will be. We only know what the Bible says about him. However, his arrival likely comes at a point of great turmoil. So if the world's agenda is currently being hindered by God the Holy Spirit through the body of Christ on the earth, what does our removal then signify? A total lack of restraint. Unchecked restraint will result in turmoil and conflict and crisis. It should mean that the floodgates of hell are opened and there will be a short period of chaos immediately following the removal of the body of Christ (the Church) from the earth. This will force the power structures of the former world-order (pre-rapture) to realign themselves post-rapture. The old saying is that nature abhors a vacuum, and will fill itself with anything to avoid a vacuum. If the church's removal provides this vacuum, you can guarantee that something will fill this void. This is where I believe the spirit of antichrist becomes the strong delusion that sweeps over the world. Logically what comes with turmoil and change, is conflict. If we look back at World War 1 or World War 2, we see that the geopolitical realities changed significantly before and after each of these events. After the Rapture will be no different. The world will be forced to realign itself. IF the US is not impacted at all by the Rapture, then the current power structure (or the world order) will not need to change. But we do see great change coming because the next horse unleashed is the rider on the red horse. When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see." Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. Rev. 6:3-4 As I've stated in a previous briefs, that any belief system outside of true, orthodox Christianity, is from Satan. While the varying religions and worldviews may have different angles, forms of worship, terminology, etc., they are all varying corruptions of the truth. The reality then is that there is only one God, who is expressed in three Persons, who are all of the same divine essence and being, co-equal in power, and willingly submitting to each other to eternally be in one accord, according to Scripture. Anything that deviates from that is from Satan. In other words, it could have just as easily been Hinduism or Shintoism that was violently rampaging across the Middle East and Europe as it is Islam. Any view that is not true biblical Christianity, is fiercely (when confronted) opposed to the truth because of what it reveals about its corrupted nature. Without the Holy Spirit to keep the world at bay, the world will tear itself apart trying to establish a new dominant religious position. When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine. Rev. 6:5-6 When peace is taken from the earth, what naturally follows is economic disparity and starvation. The rich and powerful have the means to keep their wealth and sustenance, while the rest do not. With starvation comes death and pestilence. When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. Rev. 6:7-8 The world population is currently at 7.5 billion people. While we can't know the percentage of those taken up at the Rapture of the Church, we can know (roughly) how many perish during the first four Seal judgments. A fourth of that is around 1.875B people. This is an unprecedented number and aside from the Noahic flood, we don't have anything else that can really compare to a number that large perishing in such a short period of time. That number alone will force major geopolitical alignments that will bring about the final world system headed by the Antichrist. Conclusion I think that the biblically reasonable answer to the question of whether the United States is in Bible prophecy is that we are, but not in the way we hoped or expected. Although we are not Mystery Babylon, we will be essential to its creation. Every gentile power that has come about ultimately befriends and then betrays either the nation of Israel (and Judah) or the Jewish people. The nations will have to answer for this as well (Matt. 25:31-46). After the Rapture, the US will cease to look or be anything of like what it is today. I expect the US to become exceedingly anti-Semitic much the same way Europe rapidly became anti-Semitic in the early 20th century. The Jews will have to flee the United States back to Israel just as they did Europe between WWI and WWII. This is because the antichrist spirit will feed that supernatural hatred to a people who have been given over to a strong delusion. Satan's intent then is to gather the Jews into one place so to set a snare for destruction (Matt. 24:15-21, 2 Thess. 2:3-4). If Satan can destroy Israel, Jerusalem, the temple, and kill the Jews, then God's prophetic word will fail thus nullifying God's plan for Satan. At least, that is his plan it seems. Likewise, if the US ceases to be the world superpower, some other nation(s) will rise up to fill that void such as the revived Roman Empire. What's left of the US will be incorporated into that final world system. Without the constraints of the Judeo-Christian constitution, the US will dissolve relatively quickly. It would seem that either some catastrophic event occurs before Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38-39), or after the Rapture, the US sees no intrinsic need to come to the aid of Israel. Either way, we are not willing to come to her aid. The antichrist and the false prophet simply do not have enough time left to build the world forces it needs to dominate the planet in only seven years. They will have to rely on taking from what's left of the major world powers through some advanced digital system (AI perhaps) to impose its iron-fisted will over the entire planet. Granted, even that time will be very brief as the forces from the east will eventually rise up to challenge his (antichrist's) authority (Rev. 16:12). Unfortunately, the US will be amongst the nations who finally assemble at the Valley of Megiddo and try to challenge the physical return of Jesus to the earth (Zech. 12:3). They nations armies are quickly and effortlessly destroyed as Jesus brings His armies from heaven to watch Him single-handedly destroy the world's system (Dan. 2:44-45). Unlike earthly empires and kingdoms, Jesus does not have any weaknesses. He is the infinite source of all wealth, all power, and does not rely on consensus to conduct His will, because He and the Father, and the Spirit are One in purpose. To this, Revelation 19:15-16 states- Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Even so, Maranatha! Syria fires missiles at Israeli Air Force flights as Russian Defense Minister heads to Israel - https://www.debka.com/syria-fires-missiles-israeli-flight-russian-defense-minister-heads-israel/ Syria's surface-to-air SA-5 missile attack on Israeli reconnaissance flights over Lebanon on Monday, Oct. 16, was a demonstration that Damascus, like Tehran, is not totally dependent on Moscow. It was the first time that Syrian SA-5 missiles had been launched against Israeli flights over Lebanon, although Damascus is sure that it would not curtail the air force's freedom of action in the skies of Lebanon and Syria It was staged as Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, one of President Vladimir Putin's closest associates, was on his way to a visit in Israel. This visit had long been planned, but it gained considerable weight by its occurrence three days after President Donald Trump unveiled his new strategy for Iran, and on the day that armed hostilities over Kirkuk erupted in northern Iraq, when the Iraqi army and Shiite militias under Iranian Revolutionary Guards command attacked the Kurdish Peshmerga. The timing also added extra significance to the Syrian missile fire on Israeli planes, especially after the recent merger of Syrian and Russian air commands at the Russian Hmeimim Air Base in Latakia. Gen. Shoigu was therefore briefed on the incident in real time without waiting for an Israeli update. DEBKAfile's intelligence sources have strong grounds to assume that Damascus and Tehran were closely coordinated in their actions in the last 24 hours. The Assad regime was sending a message that, notwithstanding massive Russian military assistance, Syria was not totally dependent on Moscow and would not hesitate to act alone if it so decided. Our sources added that Syrian ground-to-air missiles were last fired against Israel flights on March 17, when they were heading back home from a bombing mission. The Syrian battery waited for a nod from Russia's Syrian command before the launch, but, by then, the Israel jets were over Israel's Sea of Galilee. This time, Damascus did not delay and fired the SA-5 missile without asking for permission. IDF sources report that the four Israel missiles fired in its retaliatory air strike Monday destroyed the Syrian battery. A military spokesperson said that "a number" of Israeli planes were flying over Lebanon as part of a "routine reconnaissance mission" on early Monday morning, when they came under attack by the Syrian anti-aircraft battery. The targeted Israeli reconnaissance aircraft were not hit by the Syrian interceptor missile and returned to base safely, according to IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus. He would not elaborate on the number or type of aircraft, nor on where exactly they were flying over Lebanon, the home country of the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist group. A few hours later, the IAF sent out a separate sortie to attack the anti-aircraft battery - an SA-5 model - which was located some 50 kilometers east of Damascus, Conricus said. The Russian military, which is allied with Syria and operates in the war-torn country, was notified "in real-time" ahead of the Israeli airstrike on the SA-5 battery, the spokesperson said. Conricus said that while the army will continue to defend itself, it was not looking to "destablize" the situation with Syria. "Preserving the relative stability is a common interest," the lieutenant colonel said. The Israeli jets launched four bombs at the Syrian anti-aircraft system. According to an initial IDF assessment, the strike destroyed the SA-5 battery, or at least "incapacitated" it, Conricus said. The IDF believes the Syrian battery that was struck was the same one that fired at the reconnaissance planes. The SA-5, also known as the S-200, is a Russian-designed anti-aircraft system that has been in use since the late 1960s. The IDF said it holds Syrian dictator Bashar Assad's regime responsible for the fire. There was no immediate confirmation of the Israeli strike in Syrian state media. According to the official government Sana news outlet, Monday was "Air Force and Air Defense Day" for Syria. The incident came hours before Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was due to meet with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Liberman in Tel Aviv. When Shoigu arrives in Tel Aviv "he will get a full briefing on the matter," Conricus said. The spokesperson acknowledged the sensitivity of the timing of the incident and the potential for it to cause tension during Shoigu's visit, but said the military was "confident it won't influence anything else." "This was obviously not a preplanned event," he added. In order to avoid unwanted clashes with the Russian troops in Syria, Jerusalem and Moscow have developed a communication system. Israeli officials do not typically discuss the full extent of the coordination between the two militaries, but stress that the IDF does not seek Russian permission before carrying out airstrikes in Syria. In general, Israel's operation in Syria consist of bombing sites that are used to develop, store and transport advanced weaponry to the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist group, making Monday's strike something of an anomaly. According to Conricus, this was the first time that Israeli aircraft were targeted by Syrian anti-aircraft missiles over Lebanese airspace since the start of the Syrian civil war. However, it was not the first time that IAF jets had been attacked by an SA-5 system. In March, Assad's military fired multiple interceptor missiles from an SA-5 system at Israeli jets flying over Jordan on their way back from a bombing run in Syria. The IAF jets were unharmed, but one Syrian missile seemed to be on a trajectory that took it toward an Israeli community and so it was shot down by the Arrow 2 air defense system, in the first reported use of the system. However, in that case, Israel did not respond to the anti-aircraft attack on the IAF jets with a retaliatory airstrike on the SA-5 battery that launched it. Syria's SANA state news agency reported that the Assad regime "warned of the dangerous repercussions of Israel's repeated aggression attempts, stressing Syria's determination to continue its war against the terrorist groups, Israel's arm in the region." According SANA, the Syrian air defense "directly hit one of the jets, forcing the enemy to retreat," contradicting Israeli military claims that all planes had returned safely from the operation. The SA-5 missile battery, which was stationed some 50 kilometers east of the Syrian capital, fired at Israeli jets that were on a routine aerial reconnaissance flight in Lebanese airspace, IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis stated. Israel believes that the Syrians fired towards the Israeli jets at 10 a.m. Monday morning after thinking that they intended to attack. All Israeli aircraft returned to base safely and a few hours later responded by launching four bombs towards the same battery, destroying it. "We see the Syrian regime as responsible and see these missiles as a clear Syrian provocation, and it will not be accepted," Manelis stated, adding that while Israel has no intention to enter into the civil war in Syria, Israel will react to all provocations and is prepared for the possibility of retaliation. "If anti-aircraft fire is being carried out for any military activity, we will respond as we did now," he said on a call with journalists, adding that Russia was updated about the incident in real time and that it will be brought up during the visit of the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Moscow intervened in the Syrian conflict in September 2015, and officials from Israel and Russia meet regularly to discuss the deconfliction mechanism system implemented over Syria to prevent accidental clashes between the two militaries. Shoigu will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman and other senior officials to discuss the Jewish State's ongoing concerns regarding Iran's entrenchment in Syria and the transfer of advanced weapons to Hezbollah by Tehran through Damascus. Israel rarely comments on foreign reports of military activity in Syria but has publicly admitted to having struck over 100 Hezbollah targets in Syria, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying that strikes will continue when "we have information and operational feasibility." Netanyahu commented on the attack in Syria on Monday afternoon, hours after it was announced by the IDF. "Our policy is clear," he said in a statement. "Anyone who tries to harm us will be hit. Today they tried to hit our planes, which is unacceptable to us." Netanyahu said the IAF acted with "precision and speed" and "destroyed what needed to be destroyed. We will continue to act as is needed to protect Israel's security." During an IAF operation in March to strike a Hezbollah arms convoy in Syria, regime air defense fired three surface-to-air missiles towards IAF jets. It was the most serious incident between the two countries since the war in Syria began six years ago. Following that incident, Liberman warned against any further launching of missiles by the Syrian regime, threatening to destroy all Syrian air defenses. According to the IDF, the SA-5 missile battery destroyed by Israeli jets on Monday was the same that fired at Israeli jets in March, prompting Israel make use of its Arrow anti-missile system for the first time. The Syrians claimed at the time that one Israeli jet had been shot down and another damaged, a claim strongly denied by Israel. The Arrow system, which has been operational since 2000, was designed to intercept heavy, long-range ground-to-ground ballistic missiles. Updates to the system have expanded its capabilities to also intercept medium-range missiles and rockets. In January, the Israel Air Force received its first Arrow 3 interceptor, the most advanced Arrow system which is designed to provide ultimate air defense by intercepting ballistic missiles when they are still outside the Earth's atmosphere. A Day of Wickedness - By Daymond Duck - http://www.raptureready.com/2017/10/14/a-day-of-wickedness/ Jesus was telling His Disciples about the signs of His coming when He said, "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matt. 24:37). Following the creation of Adam and Eve, we have the story of Cain and Abel. The Word of God reads, "And it came to pass when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him" (Gen. 4:8). Cain's sin weighed upon him. He told God, "My punishment was greater than I can bear" (Gen. 4:13). He went out from the presence of the Lord, got married, had a son, and established a city (Gen. 4:16-17). Five generations later, Cain's great, great, great grandson, Lamech, had two wives; and he killed two men (Gen. 4:19, 23). Time passed, "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Gen. 6:5). "The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence" (Gen. 6:11). Notice the stories and progression of sin: murder, mental anguish, lived in a city, multiple wives, multiple murders, great wickedness, minds continually thinking evil thoughts, and violence everywhere. Jesus said, "They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all" (Luke 17:27). Stephen Paddock was the son of a violent criminal that spent years in jail. He went to a city (Las Vegas, Sin City, the Gambling Capital of the World), a place with a reputation for easy marriage, easy divorce, legal prostitution, strip clubs, and more. He got a room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, overlooking a country music festival. He was divorced twice and was spending time with women he was not married to. He was overheard telling the woman he lived with that he owned her. There is evidence that he was having mental issues (like Cain, who didn't repent, but couldn't bear his punishment), because he was taking an anti-anxiety medication called diazepam (Valium). In fact, the woman that he lived with (and went on cruises with) said he would lie in bed moaning and screaming, "Oh, my God!" There is evidence that he was thinking on evil continually. Because his plan was so detailed, some authorities said he had to have had help. He murdered 59 innocent people, and more than 500 were injured because of his evil. It was only by the grace of God that it wasn't more. As great as his wickedness was, Mr. Paddock apparently had greater wickedness in mind. He tried to set off a powerful explosion by shooting at nearby tanks filled with aviation fuel. He traveled to Boston and Chicago to check out other potential targets. There were traces of bomb- making materials in his car, etc. Four days after Mr. Paddock's terrible deed, Dr. Franklin Graham, no doubt one of the world's premier preachers today, posted a Facebook message with the warning that wickedness is rising in America. His post urged people to examine the evil in their hearts. I wondered if Dr. Graham was thinking about what Jesus said, concerning the Days of Noah, when he posted that message. And something else was on my mind. On Aug. 21, 2017, the U.S. experienced a total eclipse of the sun. Because darkness was one of the Ten Plagues of Egypt and a warning from God for Pharaoh to repent, some Jewish Rabbis and several U.S. pastors said the eclipse over the U.S. was a warning from God for the U.S. to repent. For many reasons, they believed God would give America 40 days (Nineveh had 40 days, Jesus was tempted by Satan 40 days, Goliath tormented Israel 40 days, it rained 40 days in the Days of Noah, Moses was on Mt. Sinai 40 days after Israel made the golden calf, etc.). Some of these Jewish Rabbis and pastors said the 40 days would begin on the morning after the eclipse and end on Sept. 30. The first day after the 40 days ended was Oct. 1, 2017. It was a day of wickedness, and one must wonder if God had removed His hand of protection that has often protected the U.S. On that day, the wickedness of Stephen Paddock was great. For several terrifying minutes, his thoughts were continually on evil as he shot more people than one person has ever shot in the history of this once great nation. Yes of course there is a very small exception, but in general ALL Hollywood is groping, pushing, raping, extorting, seducing, molesting and destroying millions upon millions of lives (especially those of the youth) with the EXPONENTIAL promotion of their "bizarro" anti-Judeo Christian world view (Rom. 1:18-32). The movie industry and media are their portals and outlets which these reprobates and tools of Alinsky's Father use. These are zealous about making America and the world of today think as they do and seek to make the world a classroom for the promotion of and the indoctrination of ALL KINDS of deviance, decadence, lewdness, lawlessness, vice, violence and licentiousness (Rom. 1:18-32, 3; Gal. 5:19-21). The majority of these "women victims" who are proclaiming to have been violated by Harvey Weinstein make their living and millions promoting and selling the very smut they accuse Mr. Weinstien of! Oh the HYPOCRISY! The overwhelming majority of these woman victims embrace Hollywood's godless template, support Marxist politicians and adhere and promote the damnable belief of moral relativism! In their heart of hearts they despise TRUE JUSTICE (John 3:36, Acts 17:30, Rev. 20:11-15), Judeo/Christian values and any resemblance to Almighty God their ETERNAL Creator for deep down in their soul they are at war with Him (Psalm 14, Rom. 1:18-32; 3; Jude 1:10)! I am not seeking to make light of these ladies allegations but do want to point out their abundant hypocrisy! For if you want to play with and act emulate the hungry lions in their cage, you best be ready to be mauled and eaten by them as well. Woe unto you Hollywood! Woe unto all of you which call evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20)! For, in the end, you will not get by or away with it! Daily Jot: The government schools in China and America - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com In September, China introduced education reform to teach students at all levels of its public school system to be "guided firmly to support" Communist Party of China leadership and "socialist core values." All textbooks will reflect this reform even more than they have over the past several decades. The New York Times reports that a teacher of fourth grade students in Yuqing County, China asked her students "Today's life is rich, blessed, happy and joyous. Where does our happy life come from? Who gave it to us?" To which a 9-year-old boy replied to great applause: "It comes from the blood of the revolutionary martyrs! From the Red Army!' Herein lies the peril of government-controlled schools. America's Founding Fathers understood the dangers of a public school system as influenced by a federal government. It is why they insisted that schools be locally funded and administrated. Socialist and communist forces, however, found another way to attack our children. The teaching methods in public schools are deeply rooted in the Hegelian Dialectic as brought into the schools by John Dewey, co-author of the Humanist Manifesto, a socialist and considered the "Father of Education" by the National Education Association. Dewy and Horace Mann before him developed and perfected the curriculum to teach the teachers based on the socialist methods of German/Prussian philosophers such as Hegel. In his book, "Public Education Against America, The Hidden Agenda," late Christian radio host Marlin Maddoux thoroughly documented how the public school system has been commandeered by the socialist left and is using a very sophisticated "Hegelian dialectic" seven-step method to reprogram your children. The first step is to get your child to choose his own set of values independent of his parents, the fifth step is to confess those values and the seventh step is to act on them as a way of life. All the while, the child is being moved specifically away from his Christian worldview into secular humanism. Mann opened the door to secularism in public schools and Dewy walked through it with socialist methods and teachings. As evidenced by the mandate in China, progressives focus on public education because they know their success depends on shaping the minds of children, confusing them on their religion and morals, and dumbing them down to think that government has the answer to all things. This started in America by teaching the teachers these progressive methods and philosophies and populating them in local schools. The Department of Education's ability to grant federal money based on adherence to federal agendas was a natural work-around to nationalization of public schools. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Let us not be deceived into thinking public schools are bastions of truth and virtue, teaching reading, writing and arithmetic. They are socially engineering the generations very similar to communist China. I woke up one morning and just didn't have the great feeling I had before. And being new in the faith and not knowing the Bible very well, I thought, "I think God left me last night. What happened?" When I talked to a Christian friend about it, he told me, "You're going through a trial." "What? I'm on trial?" "No, you're going through a trial." "What's a trial?" My friend explained there are times in our lives when we don't feel the presence of God, but He is still there. And in time I came to realize that God will allow us to go through trials. For instance, you might walk outside tomorrow, and it's an overcast day. So you say, "The sun was here yesterday. But I don't see the sun today. I don't feel its warmth. I guess the sun must have gone away last night." No, the sun hasn't gone away. It has been merely obscured by a cloud covering. And if you don't believe that, then try going to the beach without wearing any sunscreen. When you return home resembling a ripe tomato, you will realize the sun was out. In the same way, some people falsely conclude that when they don't feel God, He is gone. He has disappeared. But He is there, even when you don't feel Him. The Bible tells us in Hebrews, "For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you' " (Hebrews 13:5). It is during these times that we must walk by faith, not by feeling, because God has promised in His Word that He will be with us. That is how we know He is there.
