Dramatic Increases in Travel and Knowledge - By Britt Gillette - https://www.raptureready.com/2020/10/22/dramatic-increases-in-travel-and-knowledge-by-britt-gillette/
Twenty-six hundred years ago, God provided the prophet Daniel with a number of visions concerning the future. In one of these visions, God revealed several events set to take place just prior to the Second Coming. But an angel told Daniel to seal up his vision until the end times, "when travel and knowledge will increase" (Daniel 12:4). That means one of the clearest indications of the end times (and thus, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ) is a general worldwide increase in travel and knowledge. As we survey the world today, do we see such an increase in travel and knowledge? Absolutely. In fact, we see a dramatic and undeniable increase in travel and knowledge. It's so dramatic, it's best described as exponential. Why? Because from the time of Daniel (6th Century B.C.) to around A.D. 1800, we didn't see any noticeable increase in either. Then, something happened. The speed and frequency of travel started to pick up, and the pace of change continues to this day. And human knowledge? It took off as well, and it shows no sign of slowing down. The pace of change has been so rapid and consistent, people take it for granted. But if you take a moment to reflect on where we've been, where we are now, and where we're going, I promise you one thing - it will astound you. Increased Travel In the days of Daniel, most people traveled less than 50 miles from where they were born - not in the course of a year, but in the course of a lifetime. As a slave carried away into captivity hundreds of miles from where he was born, Daniel was the exception, not the rule. After arriving in Babylon, he spent the remainder of his years in and around the city. In the ancient world, routine travel from one part of an empire to another was not commonplace. It was extremely rare. And sometimes these trips took months if not years. In Daniel's time, a horse was the fastest way to travel over land. This remained true for over two thousand years. During all those centuries, the speed of human travel didn't change in any noticeable way. In the year 1800, the fastest land-based mode of transportation was... still a horse. The War of 1812 offers an excellent example to illustrate just how slow early 19th Century travel was. The Treaty of Ghent ended the war on December 24, 1814. The famous American victory at the Battle of New Orleans occurred on January 8, 1815 - fifteen days later. Travel was so slow, it took weeks for news of the treaty to reach the United States. But this shows something important - in terms of travel, things stayed relatively unchanged from the days of Daniel to the Battle of New Orleans. Then, it all changed. Human travel exploded, and the change was both swift and dramatic. What caused this change? The Industrial Revolution. In the 19th Century, the Industrial Revolution gave birth to the steam locomotive. This revolutionized the speed of travel. While the average horse galloped at 30 mph, by 1900, trains routinely traveled twice that speed. Then, in the early 20th Century, the horseless carriage (the car) took the world by storm. In 1908, the Ford Motor Company produced the first Model T - a car with a top speed of 40 mph. By the 1920's, race cars topped 100 mph. For thousands of years, the horse dominated land-based travel. Yet within the span of a single century, trains and cars completely replaced horses as the dominant mode of travel. And the speed and power of human travel continued to increase throughout the 20th Century and right up to our present day. Similar advances took place in both water and air travel. For instance, in 1952, the ocean liner Blue Riband crossed the Atlantic in less than four days - a voyage that took Christopher Columbus and his crew five weeks. In 1998, that record fell. A passenger ship crossed the Atlantic in under three days. And air travel? No other mode of travel better illustrates Daniel's long-ago foretold increase in travel and knowledge. For several thousand years, men dreamed of controlled flight. But for centuries, that's all it was. A dream. Then, in 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright put together an airplane that flew for 12 seconds and traveled 120 feet. Just 66 years later, Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon. Do you think that qualifies as a notable increase in travel and knowledge? Increasing Knowledge About three hundred years before Jesus, the Ptolemaic dynasty in Egypt constructed a library. Known as the Ancient Library of Alexandria, many consider it to be the greatest collection of written knowledge in the ancient world. While we don't know for sure how much knowledge was housed there, some estimates say as many 500,000 papyrus scrolls. This means the library probably housed tens of thousands of original works comparable to today's books, although some of these may have been duplicates. Two thousand years ago, this was the height of human knowledge. Today? You probably have a bigger library on the phone in your pocket. Today, the number of books in the world is orders of magnitude larger than in ancient times. Ten years ago, Google estimated more than 129 million books are in print, and UNESCO claims 2.2 million new books are published each year. The emergence of ebooks and self-publishing has only accelerated that number. Today, you can buy a Kindle for less than a hundred dollars and hold a library larger than the Library of Alexandria in the palm of your hand. In terms of books alone, we've seen an exponential explosion in the amount and availability of knowledge. But Daniel's predicted increase in knowledge is not limited to books. The 20th Century witnessed an explosion of information via newspapers, magazines, radio, television, 24/7 cable networks, the Internet, and smart phones. Think of all the knowledge and information available on the Internet. In 1990, there was only one website. Hard to believe, isn't it? Six years later, the Internet had over 100,000 websites. A decade later? One hundred million. As of right now, estimates say two billion websites are in existence. And that number will be out of date by the time you read this because each day sees another 500,000 websites come online. In fact, more information is added to the Internet every day than existed in the Ancient Library of Alexandria. The world today features more than 25,000 universities. And according to University World News, over 30,000 scientific journals publish a total of two million articles each year. Think we're witnessing a significant increase in knowledge? I think so, and the Bible says this means we're on the cusp of seeing significant world events. Where We're Headed The Book of Daniel says an increase in travel and knowledge will immediately precede the Second Coming (Daniel 12:4). That's exactly what we see today. For thousands of years, the horse remained the fastest mode of transportation on land, while the world's most celebrated libraries contained at best a few hundred thousand papyrus scrolls. Today, jets travel faster than the speed of sound, and handheld devices store hundreds of times as much information as the Library of Alexandria. It's clear the world we live in has transformed dramatically since the days of Daniel. Critics mock this idea. They say, "Oh, Jesus is coming back, is He? Christians have been saying that for 2,000 years. Yet, the world goes on just the same as it ever has. What's so different now?" This is the same argument Peter warned about almost 2,000 years ago (2 Peter 3:3-4). But it's an absurd argument. Do you believe the world of today is "the same as it's always been"? I don't. For centuries after the crucifixion of Jesus, the world was very much the same. Not one of the signs of the Second Coming Jesus and the prophets said to look for was present. But today? It's clear travel and knowledge have exploded. And all the signs Jesus and the prophets said to look for are present. They include, but aren't limited to:
These signs point to the soon return of Jesus. He's right at the door. Jesus told us to "look up" when we see all these signs converge (Luke 21:28), and they're converging right now. That means we're on the cusp of the end times, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is close at hand. Strange Election "Coincidences": 1 Blue Moon, 2 Asteroids And 3 Simultaneous Lightning Strikes - Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/strange-election-coincidences-1-blue-moon-2-asteroids-and-3-simultaneous-lightning-strikes This has already been one of the most bizarre presidential election seasons in U.S. history, and it gets stranger with each passing day. So it seems appropriate that nature is getting into the act as well. Some very unusual natural events are happening, and many are speculating that some or all of them may have some sort of deeper meaning. For example, there will be a "blue moon" on the Saturday before the election, and of course Halloween just also happens to fall on that particular Saturday. The following comes from the Jerusalem Post... The events of 2020 have been strange enough that some might quip they would only happen once in a blue moon. But this year will even have one of those: At the end of October, an actual, rare blue moon will occur - on Halloween. What makes this even more unusual is the fact that this will be the very first Halloween blue moon to occur in all global time zones since 1944... This year's is particularly unusual as it is the first full moon to occur across all time zones since 1944, although there is a full moon on Halloween somewhere in the world every 19 years - meaning that the next one to occur will be in 2039, followed by 2058 and 2077. In 1944, World War II was reaching a crescendo, and in 2020 we have definitely had our share of trouble as well. But a blue moon is not the only odd natural event that is taking place during this time frame. On Thursday, an asteroid that is the "size of London's Big Ben clock tower" zoomed past the Earth just minutes after the final presidential debate ended... In what is perhaps yet another signal of end times upon us, an asteroid that is the "size of London's Big Ben clock tower" is going to fly past the Earth tonight, moments after the end of the next Presidential debate. It'll pass the Earth safely on Thursday at 10:49PM EST, Fox News reports. The asteroid is called 2020 TGI and is traveling at an estimated 30,700 miles per hour. It's going to miss the Earth by about 7 million miles. Perhaps that is just a "coincidence", but another asteroid is scheduled to make an extremely close pass to Earth literally the day before the election. The following is what Neil deGrasse Tyson tweeted about this asteroid the other day.... Asteroid 2018VP1, a refrigerator-sized space-rock, is hurtling towards us at more than 40,000 km/hr. It may buzz-cut Earth on Nov 2, the day before the Presidential Election. It's not big enough to cause harm. So if the World ends in 2020, it won't be the fault of the Universe. You have to admit, that is pretty bizarre. And on top of everything else that I have just shared, the Trump Hotel in Chicago was hit by "three simultaneous lightning strikes" on Thursday. One photographer was fortunate enough to capture that moment, and you can view that photograph right here. Everyone has heard of lightning "striking twice", but what does it mean when lightning strikes three times? I don't know, but as I am writing this article I am reminded of the fact that if Donald Trump loses the popular vote but wins the Electoral College, it will be the third time in the last six elections that this has happened. Many of the pundits in the mainstream media are counting Trump out, but they did the same thing in 2016 and he still won. And on Thursday, Rasmussen had some really good polling news for Trump... With just 12 days to go before the election, @realDonaldTrump's approval rating has popped over 50%, considered the holy grail of reelection numbers. In less then two weeks, the voting will be over and the results will start coming in. It is going to be absolutely fascinating to watch what happens, and I have a feeling that the events of the next several weeks will be very dramatic. Coup - By Grant Phillips - https://www.raptureready.com/2020/10/22/coup-by-grant-phillips/ A coup is a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government. It is also called a coup d'état. A few synonyms for a coup are: overthrow, takeover, ousting, revolution, insurrection, mutiny, insurgency and rioting. The United States of America is neck deep in a coup by the Democrat party to take total control of our country. This election of November 3rd, 2020, is the most important election this country has ever faced. At the very least ... the most important in 160 years. The following is a SHORT list of liberal, far left, Democrat objectives (in alphabetical order): Abortion Continued murder (butchering) of babies, even after they are born Border Wall Removing border wall between USA and Mexico Churches Continued and intensifying harassment of our churches and pastors Deviant Sexual Laws Think homosexuality, transgenderism, open restrooms to both sexes Environmental Laws Elimination of coal, oil, fracking Filibuster One-party control of Congress Guns Attack on the second Amendment Health Insurance Private insurance replaced with government-controlled insurance with penalties Israel Forsaking the best friend (as a country) we have and the apple of God's eye Lying Continued deception (telling us what we want to hear and doing the opposite) Police Little to no police protection Retirement Accounts Government confiscation of private accounts Supreme Court (packing the Court) One-party control Taxes Up, up and up Violent Mobs Mob rule and little to no police protection Voting Corruption Continued ... to retain one-party rule (think Russia, China, etc.) President Trump is not perfect (raise your hand if you are), but God is using him to retain some sanity in this country and to provide us more time to repent prior to His judgment. President Trump has kept his promises even throughout nearly four years of constant harassment by the Democrat party. John and Robert Kennedy would turn over in their graves if they could see how anti-America their party has become. This coming election is not about Democrat vs. Republican. It is about some sense of continued freedom for the American people versus satanically inspired people who want to totally control our lives. I honestly don't see how any true born-again Christian can support any of the items I have listed above. That said, voting Democrat is showing support for all of these items and more. Granted, some are more important than others as a Christian; i.e. abortion, churches, deviant sexual laws, Israel, etc. Even the other items shown are critically important because they will determine what happens to us spiritually and as citizens. Every Christian should join Franklin Graham in praying for our country. We are at a crossroad that will determine the fate of our existence as free Americans. Jeremiah kept warning Judah over and over and over again, but they would not listen. Their problem in Jeremiah's day was their rebellion against God. We too are in rebellion against God, and He has been warning us that we need to repent and turn to Him. God allotted us extra time by allowing President Trump to win the election in 2016. I can't judge President Trump as to whether or not he is a man of God, but he has been placed here by God for such a time as this. God will install whomever He wishes as leader of a nation and use them for His purpose. God used Nebuchadnezzar to bring down judgment on Judah. He used Cyrus to liberate His people and to rebuild the temple. He used Alexander the Great to assure the Bible be written in koine Greek. He used President Harry S. Truman to recognize Israel as a new nation on May 14, 1948, even against much opposition. Now is the time to pray that God is still willing to continue His use of President Trump and Vice President Pence to protect us from the wolves at the door. Let us clearly understand that God isn't interested in our "keeping up with the Joneses." He is interested in our repenting and turning to Him. He wants our worship, not our sharing Him with other gods in our lives. My wife and I pray about this situation almost daily, but we always close by saying "Your will be done." We pray that if it is God's will that evil be allowed to have its way (Romans 1:24, 26, 28), that He just see us through it. If the Democrats are allowed to succeed next month, I'm even more convinced of the shortness of the hour. America is not a major player during the Tribulation. Therefore, we must fall from our perch. Could Democrat success at the polls be the beginning of our downward slide of national importance? I think so. The next event on God's calendar is first removing His Church (Rapture) from the earth prior to His judgment, and then the Tribulation will follow. When these two events will happen, I haven't a clue, but I do realize we are in the season of our Lord's return. How long is a season? I don't know, but this I do know: my ears are tuned to the call, "Come up here." My prayer, and I'm sure yours too, is that many, many more will come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord before these events take place. Jesus tells us to pray for our enemies. When I think of this, I can see the faces of so many who are filled with hate for all that is of God. I see the faces of those who seek to destroy our Constitution and thereby our country. Should we pray for them? Most definitely, "Yes!" They are just sinners who need to repent and be saved. All of us are sinners, except some of us are saved sinners. No true Christian would want anyone to experience God's judgment, even though we know most will not repent. The Bible is very clear about the seven years just prior to Jesus' return to earth. It isn't pretty at all. The Tribulation will be the most horrible time the earth has ever experienced. Even though we can read about it in God's Word, we can't imagine just how hellish it will be. There is definitely an attempted coup taking place in this country, but the real problem is our rebellious heart as a nation against God. In my opinion, judgment is coming on us as a nation, but there is a sure hope for us individually in Jesus Christ. Let us pray for our country. Let us pray for our president and those who assist him. Let us pray for our enemies. Let us pray that hearts will be softened and be saved. Every Christian needs to understand the book of Revelation. It, and other books that support it, tell us in very explicit language what is ahead for this world. As a Christian, you will see the urgency for others to be saved. God told Israel in Deuteronomy 28 that they would be blessed for obedience (verses 1-14) and they would be cursed for disobedience (verses 15-68). No other nation has a covenant with God except Israel, BUT we would be wise to carefully listen in on that announcement and heed His words. God has blessed us as a nation because we honored Him. However, we no longer do so; we show every day our contempt and hatred for Him. The Democrat party doesn't even want His name mentioned at their convention. This country is sinking like the Titanic, and the Democrat party is sabotaging the life boats. I just pray God's patience hasn't run out, especially for the sake of so many who are goose-stepping their way toward hell. As a nation we are circling the drain. Will God intervene again as He did in 2016? We'll know soon enough. "Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him" (Psalm 33:8). "The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men; From His dwelling place He looks out On all the inhabitants of the earth, He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works" (Psalm 33:13-15). "Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness, To deliver their soul from death And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in Him, Because we trust in His holy name. Let Your lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us, According as we have hoped in You" (Psalm 33:18-22). Grant Phillips Email: [email protected] Pre-Rapture Commentary: http://grant-phillips.blogspot.com Rapture Ready: https://www.raptureready.com/featured/phillips/phillips.html 5 Things You Should Know About How God Sees You - Jack Kelley - https://gracethrufaith.com/topical-studies/spiritual-life/5-things-you-should-know-about-how-god-sees-you/ I'm convinced most Christians don't have a very good understanding of how God sees us. I'm not surprised about this because it's really hard for us to comprehend. God sees us so differently from the way we see ourselves and the way others see us, that there's really no comparison. It's like He and we are looking at two different people. And in a way that's true because we can only see ourselves from our past experience, but He has chosen to see us now as we will be in the future when we're with Him forever. So let's set aside how we see ourselves for a moment and take a look at five things the Bible says about how God sees us. You Are His Child Forever "Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God"(John 1:12-13). How many times have you heard someone say, "We're all God's children." Did you realize that's not a true statement? Only a born again believers can legitimately call themselves children of God because one of the things that happens when we become born again is that God actually adopts us as His own. Galatians 4:4-7 says the way to our adoption into the family of God was opened with the death of Jesus. As soon as we were born again we received the adoption to sonship, and the Spirit of God's Son came into our heart. So we are no longer slaves, but God's children; and since we are his children, God has also made us His heir. This is why Ephesians 1:13-14 tells us the Holy Spirit was given to us as a deposit that guarantees our inheritance. As heirs of God we have an inheritance that no one can take from us. From 2 Cor. 1:21-22 we learn that when we were born again, God set His seal of ownership on us and put His Spirit in our heart guaranteeing what is to come. Since then it's God Himself who makes us stand firm in Christ. Having freed us from the one who held us in slavery, He set His own seal of ownership on us. We are no longer slaves but sons and daughters of God. Having been bought at a price, the precious blood of Jesus, we belong to God now, and no one can ever change that. He has placed us under the care of His Son, as the owner of a flock of sheep would place them under the care of a shepherd. It's the Father's will that the Son should lose none of those He's been given, therefore everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life (John 6:37-40). This is not something we accomplished through any personal effort of our own. It's a work of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that cannot be undone. Nothing in all of creation can change what they have done in us (Romans 8:38-39) and no one can ever take us out of their hands (John 10:27-30). Once we are born again, we are God's children forever. You Still Sin, But He No Longer Counts Your Sins Against You Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit (Psalm 32:1-2). In Psalm 32:1-2 King David foresaw this and in Romans 7:15-24 Paul explained it. Having admitted that try as he might he just couldn't completely stop sinning, he gave us God's perspective on the matter. He said that when he sinned, it was no longer he himself who sinned, but the sin who lived within him. Here's what he meant. In Romans 7:9 Paul said, "Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died." He was talking about reaching the age when he became accountable for his sins. Before that happened he was not accountable and had eternal life. It's not that he didn't sin before then, but his sins were not counted against him. However, as soon as he was old enough to be accountable, the penalty for his sins was applied and he no longer had eternal life. Now let's look at two seemingly unrelated statements Jesus made about what it takes to enter God's Kingdom. In Matt. 18:3 He said, "Unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." And in John 3:3 He said, "No one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again." By putting these together with Paul's comments on accountability we can see the Lord's two statements really weren't unrelated at all. Remember, Paul said little children have eternal life because their sins are not counted against them. Jesus said in order to enter the Kingdom we have to become like little children again. But He also said in order to enter the kingdom we have to be born again. Therefore, the way to become like little children so our sins are not counted against us is to be born again. The proof of this is when Paul was born again God no longer counted his sins against him, but attributed them to the sin that still lived within him. He had become like a little child again, not accountable for his sins, and had regained eternal life even though he couldn't prevent himself from sinning. You Are Perfect In His Sight, As Righteous As He Is For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy (Hebrews 10:14). In Romans 3:20-24 Paul explained that no one will be declared righteous by keeping the Law because the purpose of the Law was to make us conscious of our sinfulness. Therefore, God made known a righteousness from Him apart from the Law that comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, being justified freely by His grace. From 2 Cor. 5:17 we learn that if anyone is in Christ he or she is nothing less than a new creation in Christ. "The old has gone, the new has come." This is not something that will happen some day, or that we have to bring about ourselves by changing our behavior. It's something that from God's perspective has already happened and is irreversible. It happened because we are "in Christ" or born again. This is possible because when His Son, who was without sin, became sin for us, God was able to make us as righteous as He is (2 Cor. 5:21). From His perspective we've become perfect forever because the Son's one sacrifice for sin applies for all time, covering the entire lifetime of every believer (Hebrews 10:12-14). When Jesus went to the cross He forgave us all our sins (Colossians 2:13-14). Those who had already died believing He would come to save them were in Paradise awaiting His atoning sacrifice. When Jesus died, their sins were forgiven retroactively. Other believers were alive at the time of His death and received the benefits of His sacrifice immediately. Still others would not be born for many years, meaning all their sins were in the distant future. Their sins would be forgiven as soon as they heard the gospel and believed it no matter how far in the future that happened. So even though the Lord's death took place on a single afternoon in time, it had to apply for all time-past, present, and future. It also had to apply for the entire lifetime of each believer. Otherwise the phrase "He forgave us all our sins" could not be true. But because it is true, God can now see us as if we always have been and always will be perfect. This is how He can guarantee our inheritance from the time we believed (Ephes. 1:13-14), and how He can assume responsibility for making us stand firm in Christ (2 Cor 1:21-22). Having already paid the penalty in full for all the sins of our life, He is able to regard us as being righteous, as if we never sinned in the first place. From His perspective we are innocent, like the little child Jesus said we have to become. You Cannot Be Condemned For Any Reason Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Because of this, we can no longer be condemned for any reason. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him (John 3:17). Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my words and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has passed over from death to life (John 5:24). None of the above has required anything of you except to believe that when Jesus went to the cross, He went for you. Everything was settled for you the moment you believed that. When You Stand Before God You Will Be As Perfect As He Is Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is (1 John 3:2). At the moment of the rapture we will be instantaneously changed from mortal to immortal and what we are now by faith we will become in fact (1 Cor. 15:51-53). All physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual imperfections will be gone forever. All desire to sin will be gone, as will the disappointment, shame, and guilt that accompanied it. Our spirit will be in perfect alignment with God's Spirit, our will in perfect harmony with His. The restrictions imposed on our abilities by the curse under which we've labored all our lives will be lifted as we emerge from the dark oppressive past into a bright and limitless future. No matter what kind of sinner we have been here on Earth, or how often we stumbled and fell, or how disapprovingly we've been looked upon by our peers, when we stand before our Creator every hint of our earthly self will have disappeared and we will finally be the perfect example of ourselves He created us to be, fit to dwell in the presence of the Lord forever in the most luxurious environment He has ever designed. What Should We Do About This? As you can see, none of the above has come to us as a result of our behavior. As soon as we believed, it was accomplished in our lives as the free gift of God's grace (Ephes. 2:8-9) and can never be reversed. We don't know why God chose to make this act of His Grace such a polar opposite to His requirements of those who labored under the Law before us. And from reading prophecies that describe life on earth in the Millennium, we can see that once the Church is gone no other group of believers will ever enjoy such a lavish display of His love after us. The only explanation He gave was that through us He wanted to demonstrate the incomparable riches of His Grace in ages yet to come (Ephes 2:7). But even though He placed no conditions on us other than to believe in the one He sent (John 6:28-29) I believe Paul was very clear in describing the appropriate response to such an overwhelming display of His kindness. We'll cover this next time as we discuss "Responding To Grace." See you then. Daily Devotion: A Way Through - by Greg Laurie - www.harvest.org And they said to Moses, 'Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren't there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?' -Exodus 14:11 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/a-way-through/ - Listen I spent part of my childhood living with my grandparents. Sometimes we'd go to their cabin in Yucca Valley, which is in the desert, and it was freezing cold. This cabin didn't have electricity or a bathroom, so we had to use an outhouse. Today the thought of spending time in the desert isn't all that appealing to me. When the Israelites left Egypt, they weren't excited about spending time in the desert, either. After God sent a series of plagues, Pharaoh finally agreed to release the Israelites. But as they made their way to a new land, they came to what looked like an insurmountable obstacle: The Red Sea. To make matters worse, they looked up to see Egyptian army coming after them. They went to Moses and said, "Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? . . . It's better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!" (Exodus 14:11-12 NLT). So Moses began to pray, and the Lord effectively told him, "This isn't a time to pray; this is a time to move." He told Moses to lift his staff over the Red Sea, which he did. The waters parted, and the Israelites walked through on dry ground. Then the waters collapsed on the pursuing Egyptian army. Sometimes we find ourselves in a desert of sorts, and we don't know why we're there. It's a time of trial and hardship, and we can't make any sense out of it. We're trying to figure out why this has happened, and we don't see a way through. The Bible tells us, "You do not have because you do not ask" (James 4:2 NKJV). If you have a need, bring it to God. There's nothing wrong with praying about whatever you're in need of. So pray about it, but don't complain about it. FROM THE HEART

"Folks, it's all beginning to unravel. America is in more danger of falling than at any time in its history. But I believe Bible prophecy predicts this very decline. From this point on, we believers have to get serious. We are going to face discouragement, disillusionment and, most certainly, persecution in the time between now and the Rapture. But don't be discouraged or disillusioned. The coming turmoil will provide us unrivaled opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel. So be ready to share your faith and your hope with those who need Christ. We still have time to reap a great harvest of souls for God's kingdom!" - Hal Lindsey 1) We need your prayers!- We proclaim the Truth of the Word of God and we are under constant spiritual and sometimes even physical attack. 2) We need your encouragement!- We need to hear from you, let us know how the Lord is blessing you through this ministry so that we can share it with others. 3) We need your input! - If you have a prophetic article or story or if there is a news related item we missed, let us know. 4) We need your financial support!- To put it quite simply, without your support, there would be no Prophecy Update. Our Prayer for You- "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
