The ‘Gloom and Doom’ Factor - By Jack Kinsella - https://www.raptureready.com/2020/11/17/the-gloom-and-doom-factor-by-jack-kinsella/
A reader emailed me… saying, “the closer I look at prophecy and fulfillment, on an every-day basis, the gloomier it all seems. I know I can’t be the only one feeling that – we all must struggle with that…” The prophecies of the Bible for the last days ARE a lot of doom and gloom — the very purpose of the Tribulation is to judge a Christ-rejecting world. It is called the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, the Day of Wrath, etc. It is the time of God’s judgment on the world — and there isn’t much cheering going on. Three-quarters of the world will die of the plagues and judgments during this period (Revelation 6). One third of the trees on earth will burn up (Revelation 8:7), a third of all sea life will die, a third part of the ships will be destroyed in a sea turned one-third to blood (v.9). The judgment extends from the earth to the heavens: “And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise” (Revelation 8:12). It isn’t a pretty picture to contemplate. Especially in light of the very next verse: “And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!” (Revelation 8:13). No wonder much of the Church prefers the replacement theologian’s view that all prophecy was fulfilled with the Destruction of the Temple in AD 70 and that Revelation and Daniel are figurative or allegorical rather than predictive. Sir Isaac Newton is reputed to have observed, “About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamour and opposition.” Now that we live in that time, Newton’s observation sounds almost prophetic. There is a HUGE clamor surrounding the study of Bible prophecy. And any of you who’ve read the forum debates over replacement theology know how strongly they oppose studying Bible prophecy. In any case, the prophecies for the last days are so terrifying, many would rather allegorize them away. We are not living during the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. But our world is preparing itself for that time as we sit back as astonished eyewitnesses. The chaos that seizes the planet during the Tribulation has its beginnings during the last days of the Church Age. Jesus warned that there would come wars, rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes, pestilences and so on. He warned that, “All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:8). The signs of the times are all around us, and they are scary. They are scary even to many saved Christians who know the signs mean the Day of the Lord is at hand. They are scary to Christians who believe the Rapture will occur before the Tribulation begins. There is nothing in Scripture to suggest that the Church Age will escape bad things in the last days — just that it will be removed before the beginning of the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. Bad things are already happening. The wars. The rumors of wars. Famines. Earthquakes and pestilences. All on an ever-increasing scale of frequency and intensity. But Jesus said, “all these things MUST come to pass, but the end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6). The ‘end’ He refers to is the ‘end of the [Church] age’ (Matthew 24:3), so we know it’s going to get uglier. Assessment Those are all good reasons to get depressed with the ‘doom and gloom’ of Bible prophecy. It’s easy to get caught up in it — especially when examining the ‘nuts and bolts’ of how things fit together, and what Scripture says should be next on the global agenda. Since nothing particularly pleasant is prophesied to come upon the earth, studying it in detail gets pretty depressing. And there are all the people we know that are not yet saved — we know that time is running out, that they won’t listen, and that is even more depressing. We see all the tiniest details of God’s plan being played out before our eyes, but the details obscure the bigger picture. This is GOD’S PLAN! Before the world began, God knew exactly how things would play out. He told us in advance of each event. He told us that fulfilled prophecy was His Signature; “Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me” (Isaiah 45:21). Also, “Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear” (Isaiah 59:1). In this generation, we live in an age of miracles. There appears that there is nothing that science won’t be able to accomplish eventually, thanks to the advent of computers. We can replicate almost any miracle except one. We cannot predict the future. It simply can’t be done. No computer could calculate every detail of every life in advance, which is what would be necessary. Should one person do something unexpected, then the whole course of future history would change. Bible prophecy was given to the Church in the last days for the same reason that the Apostles were given miracles, signs and wonders following Pentecost. In both instances, God’s Authority is proved by God-given signs. It was by the Authority of God, authenticated by miracles, that the Apostles proclaimed the birth of the Church Age at Pentecost. It is by the Authority of God, authenticated by fulfilled prophecy, that the Bible proclaims the end of the Church Age in this generation. Taking into account the bigger picture, Bible prophecy isn’t ‘doom and gloom’ at all. It is incontrovertible evidence that cannot be shaken by modern scientific ‘miracles.’ When the skeptic argues for evolution and random selection, trotting out fossils, skeletons and diagrams, it seems pretty convincing – maybe the Bible isn’t all that literal, after all. Maybe science has got something there…maybe…(!) But when one compares the accuracy of the Bible’s account of the unknowable future to the ever-changing scientific ‘explanations’ for the distant past, doubts melt away. The skeptic has multiple explanations for static events that have already happened. The Bible gives a single explanation for a fluid, changeable series of events predicted to happen thousands of years in the future — the events that define our present day. Which is more convincing? Bible prophecy proves Jesus was the Son of God, regardless of the latest scientific, archeological or historical discovery. No matter what else might be offered as ‘evidence’ to the contrary, there is no other explanation for Bible prophecy. It is our generation’s unique miracle. It proves that He remains in charge of the affairs of men. Scripture records His Promise in all three Gospel accounts: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33). “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19). Bible prophecy is proof positive that God remains on the Throne, that His Word will NOT return to Him void, and that all the chaos and terror of the world notwithstanding, all continues to go according to His plan. Given the unbeliever’s explanation of uncontrolled chaos, Bible prophecy isn’t all that depressing, after all. What WOULD be depressing would be to be among the lost, not knowing what this world is coming to, and believing the world is in a state of uncontrolled chaos. For the believer, Bible prophecy can be pretty encouraging, which is what the Lord intended for the last days’ Church all along: “But these things have I told you, that WHEN THE TIME SHALL COME, ye may remember that I told you of them” (John 16:4). The One End Times Prophecy You Can Take to the Bank Today! - Olivier Melnick - https://www.newantisemitism.com/antisemitism/the-one-end-times-prophecy-you-can-take-to-the-bank-today The words “end times”, “prophecy” or “prophetic” usually get people’s attention when uttered, and they should! Unfortunately, a lot of false teaching is being done under the heading of “end times prophecies” and it can be very damaging. There is a proper, healthy way to look at the prophetic word, biblically. But let’s start by defining what we mean by prophecy. The word “prophecy” comes from two Greek words meaning, “to speak for or before”. Thus, prophecy means to be speaking or writing about events for someone or before they occurred. All prophecies of the Bible are from God only, and none of them were from the prophet’s origin (2 Peter 1:20Open in Logos Bible Software (if available).) The prophet of God can either be used for forth-telling (inspired telling) or foretelling (predicting). In both cases, they are directed by God Himself for the benefit of mankind. From that perspective, almost 30% of the Tenach (Old Testament) is prophetic, and almost 22% of the B’rit Hadashah (New Testament) is prophetic. More and more people are wondering why we should even study prophecy. Intimidated by apparent biblical difficulties, inconsistencies or contradictions, people give up on prophecy and miss out on about one third of the counsel of God. We should study prophecy for several reasons: • It comforts and calms: God has always been in control of all events of history. We are comforted (John 14:1-4Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) with the fact that He gave us His unchanging word, especially messianic prophecies that were all literally fulfilled in ONE person, the future unfulfilled prophecies will likewise be literally fulfilled. • It cleanses and changes: In light of the fact that Yeshua of Nazareth could return at any moment, we should strive to lead lives that are pleasing to Him. (Titus 2:14Open in Logos Bible Software (if available); 2 Peter 3:13-14Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)). In the effort to lead better lives for Him, we cannot avoid growing closer to God. • It helps us understand who Messiah is and who God is: By studying messianic prophecies in the Tenach (Old Testament), we discover that through progressive revelation, God has granted us with increasing knowledge about the person, character, timeline and redemptive career of Messiah. Eventually, as the prophecies are studied within the grammatical/historical context, they all point to the same person: Yeshua of Nazareth. But we must be careful to properly approach the prophetic word. Many approaches to the study of prophecy have been introduced over the ages. It is important to use a consistent approach when studying prophecy, as switching between approaches might satisfy our desire for an interpretation that fits our needs or understanding, but would do a disservice to God’s word. The proper study of prophecy helps us understand the whole Bible and it motivates us to live godly lives. Towards that goal, we must remember the David L. Cooper’s “Golden Rule of Interpretation”: “When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise.” The bottom line is this; a text apart from its context is a pretext! Regardless of all the warnings about taking Scripture out of context to fit the news or one’s opinion (eisegesis), people thrive on speculating on end times events. Newspaper eisegesis is running rampant today. Especially in the era of the Internet and social networks, it is easy for someone to become a self-proclaimed prophecy teacher, throwing a bible verse here and there to impress their online audiences. Trying to identify the Antichrist or pinpoint the exact date of the Rapture of the believers are two favorite topics for a lot of people. There have been more potential candidates for the office of antichrist over the ages, than we can count or list here. Some say that he will be a Muslim, others say that he will be a Jew or a Gentile. People are divided on that topic, but it preaches well, and it sells books even better. A thorough study of the prophet Daniel and the book of Revelation will equip us to understand that the Antichrist will be a Gentile leader (read “totalitarian dictator”) who will appear on the world scene after the Rapture of the believers, as soon as the Great Tribulation starts (Daniel 9:27Open in Logos Bible Software (if available).) As to the Rapture, people have been speculating on the exact date when it will occur, when in fact nobody knows the day or the hour. These, as Ed Hindson and Mark Hitchcock state, are “calculated guesses based upon interpretive assumptions” at best. We can learn from a study of God’s word that the Rapture will happen, and that it will be before the Tribulation, although not everybody agrees on the timing, but nobody should set a firm date. I often imagine Yeshua, currently at the right hand of God, looking down on us and each time someone sets a new date, He shrugs and says: “They set a new date for the Rapture, I got to postpone again!” I say this tongue-in-cheek of course, but there is some truth in that statement. Now, I promised you at least one end times bible prophecy that you can take to the bank, I will actually give you two. This doesn’t mean that the rest of the prophetic word cannot be trusted or is with error. It simply means that we should tread the prophetic landscape carefully, lest we have to back pedal on some unfounded dogmatic statement we made. As to the currents events that we can know for sure are part of the prophetic future, they are the apostasy of the Church and the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel. The apostasy of the Church is promised in the Bible. Paul said that the Antichrist will not be revealed to the world until “the apostasy comes first” (2 Thessalonians 2:3Open in Logos Bible Software (if available).) Additionally, Yeshua prophesied that “many will fall away” and “most people’s love will grow cold” (Matthew 24:10Open in Logos Bible Software (if available), 12Open in Logos Bible Software (if available).) It is not difficult to see that much of the Church today is increasingly shifting towards that toxic behavior. Revelation 2 and 3 also give us some examples of the great falling away. Are we in the midst of the great apostasy? Will it get worse before it gets better? Are we not there yet? I think that we have started as a Church to see the falling away but it will get worse, and I am not even talking about the Great Tribulation, but what must take place before it. Now, let’s look at the one world event that we are living through today that is a guarantee that we are in the last days. I am speaking of the regathering of the Jewish people to the land of Eretz Yisrael. God promised to restore the land of Israel and He did when He allowed for the birth of the modern state of Israel on May 14, 1948. Beyond the restoration of the land, He also promised in Ezekiel that the Jewish people would return to it in the end times. Ezekiel 36:24Open in Logos Bible Software (if available) is clear, “For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land.” This speaks of the physical restoration of Israel and it has literally been happening in front of our very eyes for the last few decades. Additionally, In Ezekiel 37, the prophet is given a vision known as “the vision of the valley of dry bones”, in which he is told that Jewish people will return to Israel. This is about Israel’s national restoration, which is controlled by the God of Israel. Jews have been coming to Israel under “the Law of Return” since 1948, but even more so in the last few decades. God is directing His chosen people back to His land for the final days before the return of the Mashiach. France has lost 50,000 Jews in the last 30 years, most of them in the last 15, due to the increased antisemitism that we have been witnessing lately. Is God behind this surge in antisemitism? He is not, but He can easily allow it as part of His divine plan. After all, He allowed for Satan to mess with Job at a level that most of us cannot even comprehend, but God did not hurt Job Himself. Can God allow for antisemitism to increase so that His chosen people will return home to Israel? Can God allow us to get into difficult and dangerous situations to draw us closer to Him, the answer is yes to both. But, the national physical restoration is only part of this world event, because we will also see the spiritual rebirth of Israel as we read in Ezekiel 36:25-27Open in Logos Bible Software (if available), “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.” Frankly, the national regathering of Israel is nothing short of a miracle. We, the Jews should not exist, if it was not for God’s grace and the fact that He made promises to Israel that He ratified in His covenants. The fact that Jewish people are moving to Israel in droves from the four corners of the world should encourage us about God’s promises. It is the one current end times prophecy that we can claim is happening in front of our very eyes. What it does, is that it confirms that the word of God is true, tested and guaranteed. We do not need to know the exact identity of the Antichrist (if you do know his identity, it actually means that you were left behind and are suffering through the Great Tribulation, and you don’t really want that to happen to you!) We also do not need to know the exact date for the Rapture, we just need to know that it will happen for sure (it is actually the next prophetic event on God’s timetable and could happen anytime now.) What we need to know, is that as we see the Jewish people repopulating their ancestral biblical land, we are living in the end times for sure and this should encourage us and motivate us to share the Gospel with people. Lawlessness Abounding - By Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/2020/11/18/lawlessness-abounding-by-terry-james/ I was listening to John Schneider—movie, TV, and recording star—on NewsMax, now my channel as opposed to Fox for TV news programs. Schneider said some things I certainly agreed with. He and the NewsMax host discussed the election process and the tremendous amount of cheating the mounting evidence is beginning to present, even though mainstream news types—including those on my former favorite, Fox—have declared Joe Biden president-elect. Fact is, as of this writing, Mr. Biden is nowhere near being officially the president-elect. The electors can’t even be seated from each state until the matters being investigated and adjudicated run their course. But, in one area of all this blatantly false narrative by the pro-Biden news outlets that are supposed to be unbiased (don’t laugh too much), we can find a silver lining. The anarchists, the arsonists, the looters, the destroyers of businesses, and even the murderers of police personnel and others are relatively tranquil. They believe Biden has won and they are waiting to celebrate. Some among the side who voted for Biden have celebrated in the streets, but for the most part have been peaceful. But the looters and destructive elements lurk somewhere just below the surface of civility. We received many reports of stockpiled quantities of bricks and other objects to be thrown, as well as other weaponry, in case Biden didn’t win. John Schneider has come far from being the rebel-rousing, General Lee-driving Bo Duke character on The Dukes of Hazzard. He eloquently assessed what the nation faces regarding the proliferation of lawlessness leading up to presidential election 2020. Schneider said that he wasn’t nervous or too concerned about the status of things. He very much believes that the president will, when all is said and done, be shown to be the president for four more years. He and the host went through the many technical reasons involving the voting process and the many checks and balances to prevent the other side from getting away with the obvious fraud being perpetrated. But he added that one thing gives him a great deal of reason for concern. Like many of us who have endured the reports of the evil being inflicted, particularly in major cities, Schneider said he is extremely worried about what will happen when the election goes the other way after the final accounting. He believes, as do most of us, that we will see an explosion of lawlessness the likes of which has never been seen in our nation—not even the previous lawlessness leading up to this election. This, however, shouldn’t come as surprise, regardless of how the final results turn out. This nation and world is in for unprecedented lawlessness, according to the words of the greatest of all prophets, who just happens to be God, Himself. His words as recorded in the KJV are: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matthew 24:12). Another version is more appropriate to our understanding of these times so near the end of this wicked age: “And because lawlessness shall prevail, the love of the most shall grow cold.” The word “iniquity” simply means “lawlessness.” It is a synonym that in biblical terms means lawlessness of a serious spiritual nature. Jesus was foretelling a time when there would be lawlessness of a wicked, spiritual sort that would mark ”most” people of that generation. Anyone who has witnessed things going on with spiritual discernment, with even black businesses and livelihoods being destroyed by those who claim that black lives matter, will recognize these as highly likely those our Lord spoke about. He was prophesying mostly the time of the Tribulation era, the last seven years of human history leading up to His Second Advent. However, included in His foretelling was the buildup to that time and the sort of lawlessness that would manifest the nearer the time of His return draws. Even the prophets of the Old and New Testaments foretold this end-of-the-age lawlessness in their time. Paul, for example, predicted that “evil men and seducers would grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13). Certainly this election period over the past four or five years has made obvious this prophecy in process of fulfillment. Despite the dark winter predicted by Mr. Biden, we can see yet another silver lining. Evidence of lawlessness mounting and abounding is sure proof that Jesus is about to step out on the clouds of glory and shout, “Come up here!” (Revelation 4:1). And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:28) Rabbi warns ‘The Messiah should arrive anytime between September 2021-22″- Ricky Scaparo - https://endtimeheadlines.org/2020/11/rabbi-warns-the-messiah-should-arrive-anytime-between-september-2021-22/ Another Rabbi is making headlines today, as Rabbi Alon Anava recently shared a calculation that he has come up with that reveals a significant window of opportunity for the imminent arrival of what he is calling the Moshiach or (Messiah) and how we as humanity should be preparing ourselves for his arrival. In a 50-minute lecture, titled “Is the end of the world near”? The Rabbi claims that in a Torah secret it is revealed what is coming! The video was published on YouTube a few days ago and, at the time of this writing, has been viewed close to 27,000 times according to a report from Israel 365 News. In the video, Anava addresses the common misunderstanding that it’s forbidden to estimate the time of the arrival of Moshiach and claims that this teaching applied 3,000 years ago when the coming of Moshiach was very far away but “Now that we are very close to Moshiach,” he said, “we’re allowed to calculate.” I have to interject here that this is contrary to the Word of God that states: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” – Matthew 24:36 God does not change his mind concerning his written Word. In fact, the Bible says “For I am the Lord, I do not change” – Malachi 3:6. Despite this the Rabbi goes on using the Hebrew spelling of the name Adam, which is alef-daled-mem, Anava explained that the Hebrew name Adam is an acronym for Adam, David (as in King David), and Melech ha Moshiach (literally the messianic king). He introduced and elaborated on the teaching that Adam, King David, and the Melech ha Moshiach share the same soul, according to the kabbalistic (mystical) teaching that souls reincarnate. According to the video, The rabbi claims that the role of King David, he taught, is to connect Adam at the beginning of history with the Messiah at the end of history. King David occupies the exact middle position between Adam and the Messiah. This concept underlies the rather simple mathematical calculation he presented. He goes further to say: “In the year 0, Adam was born. David was born in the Hebrew year 2854. Since King David is in the middle position between Adam and Moshiach, doubling the year of his birth should tell us when to expect Moshiach. Multiplying David’s birth year by two gives us 5708, which was 1948 in the Gregorian calendar. Obviously, Moshiach didn’t come in 1948, but something else significant happened in that year. The modern Jewish State of Israel declared independence on May 14, 1948. In Jewish liturgy, the State of Israel is referred to as reishit tzemichat geuulatenu (the first flowering of our redemption). Now, David, the shepherd might have been born in 2854, but he didn’t become David haMelech (King David) until 37 years later. For seven years, he ruled only over the Tribe of Judah from Chevron.” Again, if King David is the middle point between Adam and Moshiach and he became the King of Israel in the Hebrew year 2891, we double that year and we get 5782. The current Hebrew year, 5781, began on Rosh Hashana, September 18-19, 2020. The Hebrew year 5782, when, according to this calculation, Therefore the rabbi says that the timeline of the Moshiach’s arrival begins on September 6-7, 2021 – less than a year from now. Regarding the coming of the Messiah, Anava concluded by asserting that the exact date of the arrival of Moshiach is less important than how we prepare for his arrival and the Rabbi states that by refraining from evil speech, meaning gossip and slander, and by learning as much Torah as possible we can properly prepare for his arrival. “We are holding right before the end. This is not the time to go into despair. It’s time to say, ‘It’s our last push. We’ve been struggling with this for the last 3,000 years. What’s another half a year or a year? Nothing. It’s the end” “What we need to increase is joy and happiness, is unity, and increasing in learning Torah and spreading good and kindness. That’s the power. “We’re literally almost over. Don’t get hiked up by the news, by the media. It’s fake news. Ninety-nine percent of it is fake. It’s nonsense. They don’t even give you the right news. When it comes to Trump or Biden, it’s irrelevant. Hashem (God) decided who is going to win.” One thing is for sure, this rabbi is not alone in his expectation of the “Messiah” making his soon appearance and many are now echoing the same thing. Buckle up folks, I believe things are about to get really interesting in the next couple of years. Daily Jot: Dominion fraud denial hides behind Homeland Security – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Dominion Voting Systems, the electronic voting machine company that is central to voting fraud charges, categorically denies all accusations of voter fraud associated with its systems and points to the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to back it up. Dominion’s website cites a joint statement by CISA and other organizations saying “there is no evidence any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.” What Dominion doesn’t tell you is that it and other voting system companies comprised the coalition that issued the joint statement with CISA. In other words, it used Homeland Security to ordain its defense. The Joint Statement was issued by members of the Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council (GCC) Executive Committee, the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Council (SCC), and CISA, as well as a host of other representatives from electronic voting systems companies and state governments. The Epoch Times reports that Dominion is a founding member of the SCC and a charter member of the GCC, both of which were involved in crafting the joint statement with CISA that the election “was the most secure in American history.” This implies that all the denials by Dominion are backed by the full weight of Homeland Security’s CISA. In breaking news, President Trump Tuesday fired the head of CISA for his “highly inaccurate” statement. Rather than do true journalism as did The Daily Jot and Epoch Times, USA Today’s “Fact Check” said that claims regarding voting machine deletions and switches were false. And USA Today cited the very Joint Statement that voting machine companies like Dominion helped craft with CISA. The headline: “Government, experts agree: There were no deleted or changed votes, including by Dominion” The “fact check” went on to report: “A national coalition announced Thursday that there is no evidence that any voting software deleted or changed votes in last week’s election, per USA TODAY. In fact, the security group — which includes the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the National Association of State Election Directors–described the election as “the most secure in American history.”” The USA TODAY story never mentioned that Dominion was a founding member of the very groups that crafted the statement certifying that there was no electronic voter fraud. This is just another indicator of how the narrative is controlled by a complicit media. This entire challenge of voting machines is critical to the representative republic. Enough claims of fraud have already cast electronic voting systems as unreliable. This calls into question the integrity of every election using such devices, and shakes the very foundation of the public’s confidence of fair elections. It is a threat to our freedom and must be removed. President Trump is doing the right thing by challenging this method of voting. As Ephesians 5:11 says, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” Let it be so. Daily Devotion: The Very Words of God - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. —Hebrews 4:12 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/the-very-words-of-god/ - Listen Before a shepherd discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947, the oldest completed Hebrew manuscript of the Old Testament had an approximate date of A.D. 900. But the Dead Sea Isaiah scroll has a date of 200 B.C., and when it was translated, it had no major changes from the text we already have. God gave the Scriptures to the Jewish people. That’s no small thing. The apostle Paul wrote, “What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God” (Romans 3:1–2 NKJV). The word oracles means “the very words of God.” Jewish scholars and scribes painstakingly wrote out the words of Scripture on scrolls. They preserved that Scripture, and now we have both the Old and New Testaments, which we call the Bible. There are three ways you can look at the Bible: One, you can see it as a book filled with good ideas and moral lessons—just a general guide to life. Two, you can look at it as a book from God written by man, which may have contradictions but has a lot of good things to say. Or, three, you can believe it’s the very Word of God, inspired by God and given to us by God—total truth. I hold the third position. It’s the one Paul held, and it’s the one the Bible effectively holds. Hebrews 4:12 tells us, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires” (NLT). As important and vital as the Bible is, we must do more than simply read it. If you’re a follower of Jesus Christ, you should read it, you should study it, and you should know it. FROM THE HEART

We still have time to reap a great harvest of souls for God's kingdom!" - Hal Lindsey 1) We need your prayers!- We proclaim the Truth of the Word of God and we are under constant spiritual and sometimes even physical attack. 2) We need your encouragement!- We need to hear from you, let us know how the Lord is blessing you through this ministry so that we can share it with others. 3) We need your input! - If you have a prophetic article or story or if there is a news related item we missed, let us know. 4) We need your financial support!- To put it quite simply, without your support, there would be no Prophecy Update. I ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with us to get the Word out and keep the world informed. Remember, your gift, no matter how small, does make a difference! You will be helping to touch lives, around the world, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, thanks to the internet your generosity carries a global impact! - Thanks! Our Prayer for You- "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else." 2 Corinthians 9:10-13 If you have been blessed by Prophecy Update and would like to help support this ministry financially.
