We are living in an unprecedented time, and although no one knows the day or the hour, the Rapture could occur at any moment, and people need to be ready. This list of unprecedented events with prophetic implications is just a small indication of why I believe the Church could be removed soon. One, in Pennsylvania on Nov. 25, 2020, a court judge stopped the certification of Biden as the winner of the Pennsylvania election pending a hearing on Nov. 27. On Nov. 27, 2020, a panel of judges ruled against Trump, leading his attorneys to say they are headed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Also, in Pennsylvania, on Nov. 25, 2020, at a hearing held by the State Legislature, an expert witness testified that at one point, information shows that Biden was credited with about 570,000 votes and Trump was credited with a little more than 3,200 votes, which is statistical evidence of voter fraud. Attorney Rudy Giuliani told the State Legislature, the state reported that 1,823,148 mail-in ballots were sent out, 1.4 million mail-in ballots were returned, but officials recorded 2.5 million votes. Giuliani also said 22,686 ballots returned on the day they were put in the mail, about 20,000 ballots were supposedly returned on the day before they were put in the mail, and 8,021 ballots were supposedly cast by people who are deceased. On Nov. 26, 2020, 26 Republicans in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives introduced a resolution to decertify the election of Biden because of “substantial irregularities and improprieties associated with mail-in balloting.” In Georgia on Nov. 25, 2020, Attorney Sidney Powell filed a 104-page complaint with 30 allegations asking for the results of the 2020 General Election to be set aside because of “evident fraud and multiple violations of the Constitution and Georgia’s laws in the running of the election.” One piece of evidence that Powell presented was an affidavit from a highly respected Cyber-Crime expert that has worked for the CIA that says hundreds of thousands of votes were shifted from Trump to Biden in the battleground states. There seems to be little doubt that the greatest Cyber-Crime in the history of the world has been used against the U.S. by U.S. citizens with outside help. On Dec. 1, 2020, it was reported that billionaires George Soros and Michael Bloomberg are funneling $300,000 to the Democrats in the Georgia runoff election in an effort to take over the U.S. Senate (some say Democrat Warnock is a socialist). In Michigan, Powell filed a similar complaint (Powell asked people to pray for her). On Nov. 30, 2020, it was reported that a recount in Antrim County, Michigan, switched the election victory back to Trump. According to the report, thousands of Trump’s votes were incorrectly given to Biden (nothing was said about how this will ultimately come out). In Wisconsin, there was a 105% turnout in one Milwaukee District. In Nevada, on Nov. 27, 2020, a judge ruled that the Republican legal team can issue subpoenas, depose witnesses under oath, etc. The Democrats appear to fear what will be uncovered because it was reported that they have sent in a team of about 10 attorneys to try to stop the litigation. It is impossible to predict how the judges will rule on the many cases, and it is a longshot for Pres. Trump, but until every lawsuit is dropped or litigated (including at the U.S. Supreme Court because there are questions about the constitutionality of some state laws), the election is not over. (Note: It has been reported that Twitter is blocking the posting of some of Sidney Powell’s charges of widespread voter fraud and information on her lawsuits). Two, on Nov. 25, 2020, it was reported that Biden’s special envoy for climate, former Sec. of State John Kerry, has assured the World Economic Forum (WEF) that Biden will advance the Great Reset (a globalist scheme to control the world) faster and harder than many might imagine. On Nov. 26, 2020, it was reported that several of Biden’s cabinet picks share one thing in common: they are members of the Council on Foreign Relations (evidence that the new normal will include the old shadow government if Biden wins). On Nov. 27, 2020, it was reported that Trump suddenly fired 11 members of the Pentagon’s Defense Policy Board (Henry Kissinger, Madeleine Albright, and 9 more swamp creatures). It is about time. Biden and Harris are just small-time players (puppets) in the Shadow government. It is not enough to drain a puddle when the real pollution is coming from a lake. Three, on Nov. 29, 2020, Amir Tsarfati showed about 40 seconds of a video produced by the WEF’s Global Future Councils that says, “The U.S. won’t be the world’s superpower. A handful of countries will dominate.” Don’t forget that the Bible teaches that 10 Kings (heads of 10 regional groups of nations; a handful of countries) will rise before the Antichrist rises (Dan. 7:7; 24). Be aware that Phase I of the U.N. quest for a world government is to create 10 regional trading groups of nations (10 trading blocs; E.U., USMCA, etc.; an economic NWO); Phase II is to transform the 10 regional trading groups of nations into 10 political groups (a political NWO); and Phase III is to merge the 10 political groups into a one-world government (the NWO). This explains why the shadow government is trying so hard to bring down Trump. Their goal is to replace the U.S. as the world’s only superpower with a handful of countries (10 Kings). Also, do not forget that the Antichrist can’t rise to power while the Restrainer (Church and Holy Spirit) is here. By the way, according to the video, people will not own property in the future (wealth distribution; everything will belong to the government, and they will use it to control everyone), and the WEF is openly admitting it. They will submit their Great Reset recommendation to the World Bank, IMF, G-7 and G-20 for approval, and that will take a little time. Four, on Nov. 20, 2020, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she looks forward to working with Washington (the Biden administration) “on a new rulebook for the digital economy and digital society.” This digital economy and society are a forerunner of the cashless society, and it will lead to the tracking of all buying and selling. Five, concerning an economic collapse, some Democrats are proposing a universal income (everyone that pleases the government gets a monthly check); the cancellation of all debt; free college tuition; free healthcare; a two trillion-dollar stimulus package; a lockdown in the U.S. for up to six weeks (even though it will destroy many businesses and put millions of people out of work); and the cancellation of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” policies. I know very little about economics, but this looks like a deliberate attempt to weaken the U.S. and boost the Great Reset. One-third of the small businesses in New York and New Jersey have closed in 2020. Six, concerning a rebuilt Temple, on Nov. 26, 2020, it was reported that Jordan is concerned that Trump may transfer control of the Temple Mount to Saudi Arabia in exchange for Saudi Arabia normalizing relations with Israel, and so Trump can further enhance his legacy as one who blessed Israel. According to the article, Trump has not said anything about this, but the warming relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia has Jordan concerned that this is going to happen. Seven, concerning the Mark of the Beast, on Nov. 26, 2020, it was reported that Israel’s Chief Innovation Officer was talking about mandatory vaccinations in Israel when he said, “Government won’t force you to take the vaccine. Amazon will. Airlines will. Banks will. You won’t be able to buy, sell, or trade without the vaccine” (Israel expects to start Covid vaccinations in Jan. 2020; it is being reported that they will start sooner than that in the U.S. and U.K.). Christians should thank God that we won’t be here when the Antichrist and False Prophet demand that people take the Mark of the Beast if they want to buy and sell. Eight, many Americans have good reason to be concerned about mandatory Covid vaccinations and what is in the vaccines (in addition to cells from fetal tissue, chemicals to change one’s DNA, etc. — some require two vaccinations that producers claim are 95% effective or should I say 5% ineffective?). On Nov. 4, 2020, it was reported that Shi-Hua Xiang, a virologist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is in the early stages of developing a nasal spray to deliver a vaccine to the mucosal system in one’s nose and mouth. If successful, the vaccine will cause one’s immune system to produce antibodies to attack the Covid virus before it moves to other parts of the body. Hopefully, people will not have to go to a doctor and take a mandatory injection. Pray that God will provide something that does not use cells from fetal tissue or change one’s DNA, and believe that with God all things are possible. Nine, concerning the dangers of ministry, Jesus said, “the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death” (Matt. 10:21). These words appear to extend from the time of His disciples to the time of His Second Coming. Anyway, on Nov. 26, 2020, it was reported that Vermont’s governor asked the state’s schools to question students about the size of their family Thanksgiving gatherings so those that had been in large gatherings could be tested, quarantined, and forced into remote learning (those that test positive for 14 days; those that test negative for 7 days). Asking citizens to snitch on each other is becoming another part of the new normal, and another sign of where we are on God’s calendar. Ten, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog, there has been a lot of speculation that Trump may launch an attack on Iran before he leaves office. · Trump recently asked the military about his options for an attack on Iran and decided against it; · Prime Min. Netanyahu and U.S. Sec. of State Pompeo flew to Saudi Arabia for a secret meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; · Saudi Arabia has given Israel permission for Israeli military aircraft to use Saudi airspace if Israel wants to; · Trump sent several B-52H Stratofortress planes to the Middle East; · Trump dispatched an Aircraft Carrier Strike Group to the Persian Gulf; Iran’s top nuclear scientist was assassinated; · Iran is threatening to attack Israel; · Jared Kushner has scheduled a trip to Saudi Arabia this week to discuss a normalization treaty between Saudi Arabia and Israel; · and an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander was assassinated in Syria this week. It is impossible to predict what will happen, but this shows a flurry of activity and threats in recent days. Finally, God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this. This is the question that has heated up debate within Tehran's ruling Khomeinist circles for almost a week. The debate was triggered by the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a shadowy figure in the top echelons of Tehran's murky establishment. Despite an avalanche of obituaries and reports on the event, it is not yet quite clear who Fakhrizadeh was and what he was doing. The official narrative started by introducing him as a military figure. He was, we were told, a brigadier-general and bore that title of Deputy Defense Minister. Then the Defense Minister, Brig. Gen. Amir Hatami spoke as if he hardly knew Fakhrizadeh while praising him for his unspecified "immense services". The narrative then switched to presenting Fakhrizadeh as a nuclear scientist and thus a victim of "enemies who do not wish to slow down Iran's progress in peaceful use of nuclear science." In other words, Fakhrizadeh joins the lengthening list of Iranian nuclear scientists assassinated by unknown assailants over the past 10 years. But then Ali Akbar Salehi, the man who heads Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IEAO) made it clear that Fakhrizadeh was working on a parallel project not connected with the mainstream nuclear program. More intriguingly, Salehi revealed that Fakhrizadeh's work was linked to "nuclear defense", thus having a military aspect. Then it was the turn of Maj. Gen. Hussein Salami, chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to add his layer of mystery by praising the "key role" that Fakhrizadeh played in the Islamic Republic's missile development project. But that was not all. The Islamic Foreign Ministry spokesman Khatibzadeh brought in a shade of his own by claiming that Fakhrizadeh had been a member of the Iranian team negotiating the infamous JCPOA (the Obama "nuke deal" with the then US Secretary of State John Kerry.) Finally, and perhaps because they realized that the persona initially depicted for the "martyr" might not generate the desired degree of sympathy, the regime's propagandists started presenting Fakhrizadeh as a scholar, poet, philosopher, and moral guide. They even broadcast a videotaped speech in which he offers a comprehensive plan for defeating Covid-19 and curing those affected. Whether or not Fakhrizadeh was a scholar, scientist, soldier, diplomat, philosopher, epidemiologist, and moral guide, in other words, a quintessential Renaissance man, we don't and perhaps can never know. But two things are clear. First, that Fakhrizadeh was a member of the inner circle of "Supreme Guide" Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has created a parallel government structure that wields the reality of power while "elected" presidents and their ministers provide the façade behind which power is exercised. In a number of "special interest" domains, Khamenei relies almost exclusively on his handpicked and tested aides. Thus, when it comes to relations with Russia, for example, he relies on former Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Velayati. On relations with China, Khamenei has just put former Islamic Majlis Speaker Ali Ardeshir Larijani in charge. Relations with Arab neighbors and Afghanistan was handled by the late Gen. Qassem Soleimani. (Not clear whether Soleimani's successor Brig. Gen Esmail Qaani has also inherited that distinction.) Relations with Turkey and Pakistan seem to be handled by Maj. Gen. Muhammad Baqeri, Chief of Staff of the Islamic armed forces. Thus, it seems that while Salehi, and others before him, were in charge of the civilian aspect of the nuclear program, it was Fakhrizadeh who orchestrated the military part. If that reading is correct, the second thing that becomes clear is that the Islamic Republic has always had a parallel military nuclear program, kept secret even from its own official government. Saleh says he didn't know much about what Fakhrizadeh was doing because what he did "could not be made public even in scientific papers." This does not necessarily mean that the Islamic Republic has been building a bomb in secret. We have no means of verifying that. But it may indicate that the parallel project could have the limited aim of ensuring progress towards what nuclear scientists describe as "the threshold to breakout", a point at which a nation has all the scientific and industrial means of making the bomb but stops before making it. This is like building a kitchen and providing all the ingredients needed to make a soup but not start the cooking until you want to give a dinner party. Such a scenario may also dispel some mysteries surrounding the Islamic Republic's bizarre missile program. For example, why would anyone spend huge sums of money and effort to develop long-range missiles capable of carrying payloads of no more than 75 kilos of classical explosives that would do little harm to any target? However, the scheme could make sense if the payload in question comes in the form of a nuclear warhead. This is why Fakhrizadeh is presented as the man who had a crucial role in both the nuclear and the missiles projects. Let us return to the question that started this piece. Tehran these days is full of voices calling for "revenge" and "punishment" of those responsible for Fakhrizadeh's martyrdom. The daily Kayhan, reputed to reflect Khamenei's views, is even calling for a full-scale attack on the Israeli port of Haifa, insisting that we should make sure that large numbers are killed. Other voices, especially from the "New York Boys" around President Hassan Rouhani, call for restraint so as not to jeopardize the hope of leading the Americans up the garden path through talks with a would-be President Joe Biden. In talks with President Barack Obama, Tehran was prepared to offer concessions on the civilian side of its nuclear project because the military side of it was never even raised. Nor did Obama pay any attention to Tehran's missile program. We may be proved wrong, but our guess is that Tehran will do nothing to raise the degree of tension even by one notch -- something that could make it hard to sell the Americans another bill of goods. Two facts may support that view. First, the US is not presented as the main culprit in Fakhrizadeh's assassination, as it was when Soleimani was obliterated. Some fingers have even pointed at Israel, followed by promises of revenge. But even then, the rival version, based on the claim that the crime may have been the work of Iranian opposition groups, is kept in circulation along with another version that the operation did not involve boots on the ground but was carried out through remote control. Secondly, Khamenei promised "hard revenge" for Soleimani's death but has vowed nothing but "prosecution and punishment" of perpetrators. His emphasis is on "the continuation" of Fakhrizadeh's work. In other words, as long as our progress towards the "threshold" isn't halted, we can grin and bear Fakhrizadeh's martyrdom. Scientists have discovered a way to store a patient’s vaccination history “under the skin at the same time as the vaccine” - by Michael Snyder – www.endoftheamericandream.com Researchers have found a way to leave a “mark” under the skin that will enable medical authorities to know whether someone has been vaccinated or not. This “mark” is created using a specialized dye that is not visible to the naked eye, and the dye is delivered under the skin as part of the vaccination process. If that sounds quite creepy to you, that is because it is very creepy. Scientists at MIT wanted to create an easy method for keeping track of vaccinations in parts of the world where electronic databases are not commonly used, and what they came up with is extremely alarming… MIT researchers have now developed a novel way to record a patient’s vaccination history: storing the data in a pattern of dye, invisible to the naked eye, that is delivered under the skin at the same time as the vaccine. “In areas where paper vaccination cards are often lost or do not exist at all, and electronic databases are unheard of, this technology could enable the rapid and anonymous detection of patient vaccination history to ensure that every child is vaccinated,” says Kevin McHugh, a former MIT postdoc who is now an assistant professor of bioengineering at Rice University. Unsurprisingly, the MIT article announcing this discovery stated that this research had been funded “by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Koch Institute Support (core) Grant from the National Cancer Institute”. Is Snopes covering for Pfizer when the first round of vaccines that include a fertility shut down affects woman nationwide? In order to see the “mark” that has been left behind by the specialized dye, authorities will need a “specially equipped smartphone”, and we are being told that the “mark” can be read for at least five years after the initial injection… The researchers showed that their dye, which consists of nanocrystals called quantum dots, can remain for at least five years under the skin, where it emits near-IR light that can be detected by a specially equipped smartphone. As you read this article, you may be envisioning a long needle as the delivery system, but that is not the case. The scientists involved in this research intend for a “microneedle patch” to deliver the vaccine and the dye at the same time… The researchers designed their dye to be delivered by a microneedle patch rather than a traditional syringe and needle. Such patches are now being developed to deliver vaccines for measles, rubella, and other diseases, and the researchers showed that their dye could be easily incorporated into these patches. We are being told that the “microneedles” on each patch would consist of a mixture that includes dissolvable sugar, and once applied to human skin they would “partially dissolve”… The microneedles are made from a mixture of dissolvable sugar and a polymer called PVA as well as the quantum-dot dye and the vaccine. When the patch is applied to the skin, the microneedles — which are 1.5 millimeters long — partially dissolve, releasing their payload within about two minutes. By selectively loading microparticles into microneedles, the patches deliver a pattern in the skin that is invisible to the naked eye but can be scanned with a smartphone that has the infrared filter removed. To many, this invention may sound like a much less painful method to deliver vaccines and a great way to keep track of who has been vaccinated. But for many others, this sort of technology is a giant move in the wrong direction. In addition to being a gross violation of our privacy rights, many are concerned that we could eventually be approaching the days warned about in Revelation chapter 13… 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. According to the Bible, someday people will not be able to perform basic day to day activities without the Mark of the Beast. And even now, we are being warned that those that do not take a COVID vaccine may not be able to live normal lives. Just consider what Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Williams just said… “What we can do is to say sometimes for access or ease of getting into certain settings, if you don’t have vaccination then you’re not allowed into that setting without other protection materials,” said Williams. “What may be mandatory is proof of…vaccination in order to have latitude and freedom to move around…without wearing other types of personal protective equipment,” he added. We are going to need proof that we have been vaccinated “in order to have latitude and freedom to move around”? I don’t like the sound of that at all. Will we eventually get to a point where we are not allowed to go to work and our kids are not allowed to go to school without a COVID vaccine? And could such restrictions foreshadow a day when an even more sinister scheme appears on the global stage? These are such unusual times, and right now a war for our minds is going on. If we do not stand up and object to the increasingly oppressive restrictions that are being instituted now, what will we do when even more draconian measures are instituted during the years ahead? I don’t know about you, but I will not ever allow anyone to put any sort of a “mark” on or under my skin. Others may willingly line up to be branded like cattle, but I will not be among them. It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.” Salt was, and is, used as a preservative for certain foods. When anyone presents the true word of the Gospel (good news), they are considered to be preserving the word of the Lord, and also following the Great Commission by spreading the true word without any false or incorrect messages. (any emphasis mine) Matthew 24:24; “For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” (true believers) 2 Timothy 4:3-4; “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having “itching ears,” they will accumulate for themselves, teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth, and wander off into myths.” We are seeing a lot of this today in numerous so-called evangelical churches. Entertainment sessions being performed rather than being given the true word. 2 Corinthians 11:12-15; “And what I am doing, I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claims of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission, they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles; deceitful workmen; disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder; for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants [and demons] also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” (In the Lake of Fire) The other day, I read a message in an article that stated, “The Church cannot be the salt of the earth if we keep sugar-coating the Gospel.” One quick question here: has anyone noticed a shift away from the true word of God and toward messages meant to tickle ears and give listeners a feel-good atmosphere that isn’t biblical, at least not from a true translation of the Bible? People can attend these “church services” all they want, and if they’re convinced that the “feel good” words being given are proper, they may want to read God’s word for themselves. Each person, at the end of their days here on earth, will give an account of the lives they lived while here. Each person will be responsible for where they spend their eternity. It will either be Heaven, or Hell, and no other option is on the table. There are more concerned about worldly things rather than what lies ahead for them in eternity. Satan is doing his part in drawing away souls from the truth, and leading them to destruction. Jesus said that more would accept Satan’s lies than those who would follow Him on the narrow path (Matthew 7:13-14). There are those who believe they will end up in Heaven because they were “good” people. Being good doesn’t get anyone into paradise. Receiving and accepting Jesus is the only way. Romans 10:9-13 gives the process in very simple terms. First, confess that Jesus is Lord. Second, believe God raised Him from the dead to conquer sin and death for all of us, and you will be saved. We are all sinners (Romans 3:23) and need the Savior to be kept from being sent into the Lake of Fire as given in Revelation 20:11-15. God is no respecter of persons, and “all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). Anytime Jesus preached, He gave us hope through truth in a manner such as Peter told us in 1 Peter 3:15; “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as Holy; always prepared to make a defense for the Hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” Jesus always gave the word in a straightforward manner that showed His patience and love. He would get upset mostly with the pious religious leaders of His day, who thought they were to be worshiped first, and then God. They would never admit they had any sin in their lives. There are “evangelical” groups that previously gave the true messages from God’s Holy word. Today, we see a shift toward false prophets teaching in these churches that there are many ways to Heaven without Jesus, and all previously condemned relationships are now acceptable. Thing is, the Bible I study doesn’t have these so-called new beliefs in it. God’s word means the same thing today as when He first gave it to us. In fact, my chosen life verse still says, “Jesus said to him [Philip], I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). And then there is Acts 4:12; “And there is Salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved.” Then Romans 8:1 states, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” God’s word was and is meant to give true and solid instructions for all to be able to have eternal life in Heaven. He didn’t give it in a code that only certain people could understand, and He even sent His own Son, Jesus, to give the only sacrifice for our sins – my sins – that could be accepted (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). It is fitting and just that God requires each and every one of us to accept the sin-free blood sacrifice that was made willingly on a cruel cross at Calvary. After all, the person on it in fully human form was also one third of the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is fair and just and will force no one to accept Jesus, but for those who do not, they will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire with no chance of repentance there. He allows all persons right up to their last breath here to repent and be saved as given in 2 Peter 3:9, and through the example of the thief on the cross that was crucified with Jesus in Luke 23:40-43. Joshua 24:25 gives us the proper answer with, “but for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Satan would love for all of us to listen to his antichrists and false prophets and be drawn away from the Savior. He knows his fate and knows it’s getting very close. There is no pathway to forgiveness for him or the angels that chose to follow him, as Jesus’ sacrifice was for all humans that would accept Him. With all the signs that are present today, and with all the attitudes that are getting more and more negative, the call of all true believers up to meet Jesus in the air (Rapture) is right at the doorstep. This will be to keep God’s promise to keep all of the Savior’s flock from going through the Wrath. Choose today as Joshua did. Tomorrow, this world could be entering the tribulation/wrath period, which will be the worst and most miserable time this earth has ever seen. All the things taking place today do not come close to being as bad as this will be. It’s totally your choice, and no one can make it for you. The best decision you can make is to ensure your reservation for eternity with the Savior by calling out for Him to forgive you and accept you as one of His own right now. [email protected] Daily Jot: Using the Bible to justify the unbiblical – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The crossroad of religion and politics came into a clear focus during a Sunday debate between Georgia Senate candidates. Democratic Party candidate and Christian mega-church minister Raphael Warnock drew fire for using the Bible to justify full-term abortion and defunding the US military. His opponent, Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler, took him to task for saying in a sermon in 2011 that you can’t serve God and the military, using as justification Christ’s words in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Warnock has also justified full-term abortion by twisting the scriptures. In an August interview, Warnock responded to a series of questions about abortion by WGAU’s Tim Bryant. Warnock said, “I believe that healthcare is a human right. And I believe that it is something that the richest nation in the world provides for its citizens, and for me, reproductive justice is consistent with my commitment to that. I believe unequivocally in a woman’s right to choose, and that the decision is something that we don’t want government engaged in – that’s between her and her doctor and her minister.” He said that his campaign has been “focused on women’s health, women’s choice, reproductive justice. That is consistent with my view as a Christian minister. And I will fight for it.” Bryant asked him, “Do you think it’s consistent with God’s view – that God endorses the millions of abortions we’ve had in this country since Roe v. Wade?” Warnock replied, “I think that human agency and freedom is consistent with my view as a minister.” This is quite frankly where many pastors abandon the Word of God for the word of man. Human agency is defined in psychological terms as the capacity for human beings to make choices and to impose those choices on the world. In other words, free will. Indeed, God has blessed us with free will. As Christians, however, that free will is informed by both personal responsibility and a code of conduct to live according to the precepts given to mankind by God. God does not advocate the killing of unborn children and no amount of inventive terms like “reproductive justice” will change that. The choice of candidates for Georgia Senate places this entire nation, not just the citizens in Georgia, at a crossroads. The Republican candidate seems like a God-fearing woman. But the Warnock, even as an ordained minister, is an extreme and radical choice. His erroneous theological and political positions threaten the lives of the unborn as well as potentially using Christ’s words to undermine national security. Cherry-picking scripture to justify one’s own ideas is called eisegesis. It is a really bad way to interpret the Bible. Trouble is, this is done a lot by pastors and politicians. It’s particularly amplified when a politician who is also a pastor takes such license. Worse yet, people believe them. Of course, we’ll be thinking a lot this month about the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. But why did Jesus come to this earth? Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem to save us from our sin. In fact, Jesus revealed the reason He came to this earth when he was talking to a man from Jericho named Zacchaeus. He was a tax collector, which means that he took advantage of people. Zacchaeus effectively ripped people off. He didn’t have a friend in the entire place. No one wanted anything to do with him. When Jesus showed up in Jericho one day, it was a big deal. Everyone wanted to get a look at Him. If that were happening today, everyone would be asking for a selfie. The problem was that Zacchaeus was too short to see above the crowd. So he climbed a tree to get a view of Jesus. Can you imagine Zacchaeus’s shock when Jesus stopped, looked up, made eye contact with him, and called him out by name? Jesus told him, “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today” (Luke 19:5 NLT). Zacchaeus was overjoyed, and he welcomed Jesus into his house. But the people of the city criticized this saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner” (verse 7 NLT). Exactly. After all, how can you reach a sinner if you don’t spend some time with him? Jesus said, “For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost” (verse 10 NLT). That’s why He came: to seek and save lost people. That day, Zacchaeus walked into his home a sinner and walked out a saint. That’s what spending time with Jesus will do.
