“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” (Revelation 12:1-3) In the last three parts of this study of Revelation, our Savior has revealed to us the history of the church leading down from Pentecost until the coming of our Lord for His Church and beyond. We have read and understand that from chapter 6 when Jesus opens the first seal while standing before the ABBA Father in heaven, with the saints of God that are seated on thrones and the angelic host giving God glory, each seal has given us a futurist view of the judgment that befalls the earth dwellers that are still on this planet and the judgment that rains down upon them. We have seen the first four seals reveal the use of mankind as the hammer to bring death and destruction over the entire earth, leading into Divine judgment and the unleashing of demonic forces designed for nothing else, but to enact vengeance on a God rejecting world, and the only source of salvation, found in Jesus Christ our Lord. We have come to the chapter that I have spoken of in past messages, that divides the Tribulation from the coming Great Tribulation, as now the Abomination who Causeth desolation will be revealed quickly in the next chapters. But here God focuses our attention on the actors in this spiritual drama that is being playing out in the physical world. Many believe that this chapter appears to somehow be out of place, but here God reveals what His plan is for the people who are His chosen from ancient times and God will purge them as silver is refined in the fire. 3 “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. 4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. 5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts. 6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” (Malachi 3:3-6) But let us work our way through this chapter and see what God is trying to reveal to us for the coming time known as “Jacob's Trouble”. SIGN OF A WOMAN CLOTHED WITH THE SUN Looking at the first verses that begins this chapter..we know that in Genesis, Jacob clearly understood that he was the sun, his wife was the moon, and his twelve children were the stars, as Joseph had a dream. 8 “And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. 9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? 11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.” (Genesis 37:8-11) This is the root of the nation of Israel. In Revelation, these symbols are used for two reasons. One is to signify the root of the woman portrayed there, that she is Israel: the sun, moon, & stars—Jacob, Rachel, and the twelve sons. But the sun, moon, and stars also have a secondary meaning: to indicate glory. She is a glorious woman—one that can be associated with the glorious things in the heaven—the sun, moon, and stars. Note this allusion to glory because, as God is looking at Israel at this time—that is, in the prophetic sense, in the time within the prophecies—Israel is glorious. Israel's beginning was glorious—glorious as the heavenly bodies. Israel’s end will be just as glorious, because of the promise made to the fathers of Israel, not because of anything they have done, but because of God’s Holy Name and His promises to Israel. God fulfills His Word. Some denominations erroneously try to paint this as the church, but that is replacement theology and as Paul told us in Romans: 17 “And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.” (Romans 11:17-25) Here the apostle Paul reveals that Israel has been set aside till the “fullness of the Gentiles be come in”, then the focus of God's attention will be turned completely on the redemption of Israel. She has not been replaced by anybody or by any Church, or the Bride of Christ. God's Holy Spirit has been working with the church for nigh 2000 years and when the body of Christ is completed, then Israel will be brought to bear and as Paul told us in the same chapter. 26 “ And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” (Romans 11:26-29) The Roman Catholic Church tries to make it appear that this is Mary and she is pictured here as the “Queen of Heaven. It is common in Roman Catholic art to represent Mary as standing on a crescent moon with twelve stars around her head. As this cannot be, as the woman is revealed to be in pain, which is a sign of the persecution that Israel faced during the Roman occupation and oppression. v. 2 of this chapter. I make no apology when I say that Replacement Theology is a lie of the adversary, designed to those who believe such a lie, to forsake Israel and her rightful place according to the promises God made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Not for their sake, but for God's Holy Name, as God keeps His promises. The woman has been identified as Israel, even if others try to distort who she really is, and as the first player in this future drama that is part of the coming tribulation. Then we have the next player in this drama in the next verses. 3” And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”( Revelation 12:3-4) Clearly,this is a sign of old “slewfoot” that in ancient times, even before mankind, drew a third of the angelic host in rebellion against God and was cast to the earth in judgment for his rebellion. Satan is pictured as a great red dragon who has tirelessly waged war against the children of Israel in an effort to usurp the plan of God and prevent the fulfillment of the prophecy at the Garden of Eden: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15) Here the prophecy of the coming Messiah was proclaimed by God, and Satan has attempted to thwart God’s plan from the very beginning. He hates mankind as they were made in the glory and image of God and given dominion over the earth, instead of giving it to Satan, (Lucifer in the beginning) and his pride just could not stand it. The adversary stands before the woman waiting to devour her child upon it being born. Of course, this is not literally a dragon, but a symbol of the nature of this fallen cherub who was once an ark angel. His description “symbolically suggests his fierce power and murderous nature . . . a picture of the fullness of evil in all its hideous strength. Seven diadems on his heads: This dragon had great power (seven heads and ten horns) and claimed royal authority (seven diadems). The crowns represent his presumptive claims of royal authority against the true King. He wants to be considered a king. From the similar description given in 13:1 and the parallel references in Daniel 7:7-8, it is clear that the revived Roman Empire is in view . . . The seven heads and ten horns refer to the original ten kingdoms of which three were subdued by the little horn of Daniel 7:8, who is to be identified with the world ruler of the great tribulation who reigns over this revived Roman Empire. WHO IS THE CHILD THAT IS BORN? There have been various interpretations of who this child being born in verse 4. From reading the passage in a literal sense, we know that Israel was the nation that produced the Messiah, so is this Jesus who the adversary is waiting to devour? We know that when Jesus was born, that Herod made an evil attempt to have the infant Jesus killed, thereby slaying every male child of two years and younger, as the wise men came to a house and gave gifts to a child, not an infant, so Jesus was about two years old when Herod destroyed the Hebrew babies that were born in Bethlehem at this time. I also have heard interpretations that this is the heavenly Jerusalem as well as Israel, noted by this woman and gives birth to the Church, as she has been “in utero” as Jesus said that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, but we must be “born again”...When the church was formed at Pentecost, she was not “born” but she was conceived and as a woman carries a baby to term of approximately 9 months. So has the True Church of the Living God, we have been growing as a body of Christ for the last two thousand years. If this is speaking of a dual prophecy of the church and of Christ, we are part of Christ, as we are His body, and He is the head of the Church. Some believe this is a reference to the church being born and raptured to the throne room of God. Which would be a connection between this verse and the beginning of chapter 4 when the 24 elders are seen in the throne room of God. Satan wishes to destroy the church, just as much as he wanted to destroy the child Jesus and had murdered many innocent children in the process. “She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.” Clearly this is a description of our Lord and Savior,as a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: Clearly, this refers to Jesus Christ, the Messiah. He rules the world with a rod of iron (Psalm 2 and Revelation 19:15). But coming back to the duality of this prophecy, the Church is also designed to rule the nations, right along with Jesus Christ. We will be His Kings and Priest and each of us will be given a portion of that rule. As Jesus was caught up to God the Father by ascending to His right Hand, so we will also be caught up to the throne room of God at the rapture of the church, to reign and rule with Jesus Christ for a 1000 years. This was confirmed in chapter 5 of this apocalyptic book. 9 “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:9-10) Do you see the parallel here? It is a duality of prophecy that pertains to Jesus Christ, but could also pertain to the Church that is born from the New Jerusalem that we are abiding in Her Womb at the present waiting to be born. I believe John is speaking of both. ISRAEL, THE WOMAN FLEES BEFORE THE DRAGON 6 “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”( Revelation 12:6-9) Another duality of prophecy is spoken of in these verses, as this has happened to Israel before in 70 AD, when the Temple was destroyed by General Titus who later was to become emperor of Rome. The time of the destruction of the nation of Israel began approximately in 66 AD, and continued until about 72 AD with the Temple being destroyed during that time. The historian Eusebius wrote about these dreadful events. He wrote around AD325, amazingly close to those events, and with the extensive records of Josephus to draw upon. He wrote: “For the Jews after the ascension of our Savior, in addition to their crime against Him, had been devising as many plots as they could against his apostles. First Stephen was stoned to death by them, and after him James, the son of Zebedee and the brother of John, was beheaded, and finally James, the first that had obtained the episcopal seat in Jerusalem after the ascension of our Savior, died in the manner already described. But the rest of the apostles, who had been incessantly plotted against with a view to their destruction, and had been driven out of the land of Judea, went unto all nations to preach the Gospel, relying upon the power of Christ, who had said to them, Go and make disciples of all the nations in my name. But the people of the church in Jerusalem had been commanded by a revelation, vouchsafed (transitive verb. 1a : to grant or furnish often in a gracious or condescending manner. b : to give by way of reply refused to vouchsafe an explanation. 2 : to grant as a privilege or special favor.)( my explanation) to approved men there before the war, to leave the city and to dwell in a certain town of Perea called Pella. And when those that believed in Christ had come there from Jerusalem, then, as if the royal city of the Jews and the whole land of Judea were entirely destitute of holy men, the judgment of God at length overtook those who had committed such outrages against Christ and his apostles, and totally destroyed that generation of impious men. But the number of calamities which everywhere fell upon the nation at that time; the extreme misfortunes to which the inhabitants of Judea were especially subjected, the thousands of men, as well as women and children, that perished by the sword, by famine, and by other forms of death innumerable—all these things, as well as the many great sieges which were carried on against the cities of Judea, and the excessive sufferings endured by those that fled to Jerusalem itself, as to a city of perfect safety, and finally the general course of the whole war, as well as its particular occurrences in detail, and how at last the abomination of desolation, proclaimed by the prophets, Daniel 9:27 stood in the very temple of God, so celebrated of old, the temple which was now awaiting its total and final destruction by fire — all these things any one that wishes may find accurately described in the history written by Josephus.” Here in this passage we see the exact thing happening again, as the woman, Israel comprised of those who believe the message of the Gospel, (possibly from the two witnesses, or the 144,000 Jewish evangelist who proclaim what Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24) 15 “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 7 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.” (Matthew 24:15-22) This whole chapter of Matthew 24 is directed squarely as a warning to Israel, and also repeated here in Revelation chapter 12. A remnant of Israel will see the abomination that causeth desolation, that Jesus warned of and will believe the Gospel, and take warning and flee to the mountain fortress of Petra in the Jordanian wilderness. Many make the mistake to interpret this chapter written to the Church, but the focus is obviously Israel, as Jesus was speaking of Jews in the future, as He spoke to Jews in the present time. The Church will not flee to the Jordanian wilderness, or worry about a Sabbath day's journey, or wonder how to flee in winter, as it gets cold even in Israel as it does in the Midwest. Jesus warned the Jewish people, that when they see the Abomination that causeth desolation, to run for the hills, and run for their lives, as this evil last dictator will attempt to destroy them all. In this passage of verse 9, Satan and His demons are cast out of heaven where they have had the ability to come and go from heaven to the earth. Now they are imprisoned on the earth, and Satan know he has but a short time and he becomes frantic and seeks anyway he can devise to destroy Israel and make God out a liar. But a remnant of those of Jewish ancestry have escaped to Petra and Satan will pursue them. HEAVEN REJOICES All of heaven shouts with joy as they know that Satan and the evil committed on the earth is destined to end very shortly. 10” And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Revelation 12:10-11) The accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down: Satan’s work of accusing only ends here, when he is cast out from his access to heaven. Remember the story of Job? Today, we have (and need) an intercessor and advocate (Hebrews 7:25 and 1st John 2:1) Verse 11 remembers the many martyrs for the cause of Christ down through the ages, at the hands of the Roman Empire and the “holy Roman Empire” (sic), as there was nothing holy about her. This continues even today all over the world, into the Middle East, Africa, China, and other nations of the far east, and even to Europe. It has not reached America just yet, but it may before this is all over. Christians will be killed world wide that do not take the coming “Mark of the Beast” and especially anyone who is Jewish. THE EARTH HELPS THE WOMAN 13 “And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.” (Revelation 12:13-16) What are we to make of these set of verses? The woman runs for her very life, or the lives of every Jewish person who escapes to the mountain fortress of Petra, much as they did in 70 AD. You see metaphor after metaphor, of a great eagle that takes her into the wilderness and she is nourished for a time, times and half a time. This would be 3.5 years, which would be the sum total of the Great Tribulation. She will be sustained and nourished by Divine intervention. And this verse that says that the earth opened her mouth and swallowed some flood that the dragon cast out of his mouth. ?? Eagle’s Wings are an emblem from the Exodus deliverance (Exodus 19:4), another way of connecting these people with Israel. “Some have wondered if the reference to the two wings of a great eagle do not in fact describe a great military transport plane used to evacuate people in an emergency situation. That is a theory, but however they are swiftly taken, God will provide.” Prior verses have depicted a woman—symbolizing Israel—fleeing a dragon—symbolizing Satan. Satan's latest attempt to destroy Israel is poetically described as a flood coming from the serpent's mouth. According to this verse, the serpent's attempt to sweep away the woman fails, because God helps her. Most likely, the "river" is an army intent on invading and destroying Israel. God opens the earth to swallow the flood/river—typically identified as the northern army described in Ezekiel 38 and Joel 1—that the serpent sends to destroy Israel. This apparently refers to a natural phenomenon, possibly an earthquake. Ezekiel predicted this devastating earthquake that destroys the northern army. He wrote: "But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused in my anger. For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. … And the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. …With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment with him, and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the many peoples who are with him torrential rains and hailstones, fire, and sulfur" (Ezekiel 38:18–22). This passage also describes God’s ultimate protection of Israel from the fury of Satan and his antichrist in the great tribulation. As it says in Isaiah 59:19 , “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” Why does Satan attack the Jewish people? As it looks like they are the ones who are fleeing, and those who Jesus mentioned that they should flee, hoping that it wasn't on a Sabbath, or women who give suck, or the cold of winter that prevents them from traveling at a fast pace. This is a question for all history, not only for the Great Tribulation. The reason is because from the time of Abraham, Israel holds a critical role in God’s plan of redemption. First, it was in bringing forth the Messiah and Redeemer. Then, it was in the fulfillment of His plan, because Jesus promised that the Jewish people would exist and welcome Him when He returns in glory to this world (Matthew 23:39). If Satan succeeds in destroying the Jewish people, then God’s eternal plan is in some way thwarted. As mentioned, some try to make those who flee into the Petra fortress as Jews and the Church that is somehow still here, but note what is said in verse 17. 17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 12:17) But if the woman represents all the people of God (the church and faithful Israel), then who are the rest of her offspring described in verse 17? It is best to see her as Israel in general or Messianic Jews in particular. SATAN COMES AGAINST SECULAR JEWS Satan has been defeated in the ability to harm those who belong to God and he comes after a remnant of her seed. What seed? Those who have not been able to escape, or that didn't believe the two witnesses and their preaching. It was as it was in 70 AD, and history is repeating itself. I have preached for some time, that the Tribulation is designed for two things only. 1. the refinement of Israel is as silver in a hot furnace to remove the impurities within her and prepare her to receive her Messiah (Malachi 3:3)...our Messiah that saved a people who were not His people, but Israel are His people, and God will fight for them, as we will see in future chapters. 2. God will destroy all rebellion on this earth and wiping it totally clean of all unrighteousness and lawlessness, making this earth to become again like the Garden of Eden for a 1000 years before He finally creates a New Heaven and a new earth. I want each of you to see the commonality of events that presents itself in this chapter and every chapter that God reveals to those who seek His Truth found in this revelation. God will destroy all mankind on this earth who don't accept His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Along with it, the Anti-Christ will be hunting down all who do not worship him or take his mark. Even if you are not Jewish (as they will be marked for extermination), you will be hunted down because you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, and my friend, it will cost you your life in martyrdom, and the suffering of your family and friends, whatever is left to be family or friends. Otherwise, you will succumb to the coming Mark of the Beast and be doomed for all eternity, as it is spoken of in Revelation chapter 14, v. 9-11. 9 “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”(Revelation 14:9-11) Revelation is a continued warning to all who will listen that a time is coming that no one wants to live or go through if they only knew what the time will produce for all who are still here. As mentioned numerous times, the Church is being judged now, and we “are not appointed to wrath”, so to place the church in the middle of being refined or martyrdom is to say that the blood of Jesus was just not quite good enough to save us utterly. That doctrine is found in Catholic purgatory and is not found in the Bible anywhere. I throw you a life line, His name is Jesus Christ. He is the only One who will keep you from this coming time and He wants to save all men, not willing that any should perish. Will you accept this free gift of His mercy and grace found in his death, burial and resurrection? It is oh, so simple a child can do it. There are many places that speak of this act of faith, but there are two passages that brought me as a child to the knowledge of my need for a Savior and I understood it as a child, then you can too. 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18) 8 “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” (Romans 10:8-11) See? I told you it was simple...believe in your heart the above verses, repent, and ask Jesus to come into your life as Lord and your example of how to live. Then confess to others, your family, your friends, or your co-workers, and you shall be saved...it's that simple...Make that decision for Jesus Christ this side of the Tribulation, while you still can..Next time we will continue to explore thehorror of the coming Great Tribulation that will slay most of mankind. Deuteronomy 23:12 (The Israel BibleTM) After deliberating a curfew as an anti-pandemic measure, the Israeli government opted out, inadvertently bringing about a prophecy of Hanukkah remaining in place while the other, Biblically mandated holidays will disappear in the era of the final redemption. GOVERNMENT BACKS DOWN; CURFEWS DEEMED ILLEGAL The Israeli government was planning on imposing a nightly three-week curfew beginning Wednesday evening and extending throughout the Hanukkah holiday but encountered legal difficulties from the “Coronavirus law”. The law stipulates weighing different alternatives only if they guarantee clear benefits in curbing morbidity rates. At a special meeting concerning the pandemic, public health experts stated that a nighttime curfew may be ineffective in reducing the spread of COVID-19. “At the end of the day, we try to balance all of the considerations — health on the one hand and, on the other, the economy and people’s lifestyles,” Prof. Arnon Afek, a medical adviser to the government on the pandemic, told the Ynet news site. Afek suggested that the most that could be hoped from a curfew would be a placebo effect, assuaging the concerns of the public. “I think it makes sense to try a nightly curfew,” Afek said. “Do I think it will work? I’m afraid not. We may end up at a full lockdown, but at least we’ll have proven to all those people who are hurt by it that we made every effort.” Israel’s chief coronavirus manager Nachman Ash stated that the most that could be hoped from a curfew was that it would only “delay the inevitable.” Despite the doubts and legal impediments, the government is still trying to shutdown the public. “Following the legal difficulties that have arisen in approving a nighttime closure, which is intended to prevent a general lockdown, alternatives are now being examined that will make it possible to prevent gatherings on Hanukkah and toward the end of the year,” a government statement said. According to Channel 12, the Health Ministry will now recommend pinpoint closures based on local rates of infection, while specifically cracking down on Jewish areas with more serious outbreaks over Hanukkah and highly infected Christian-majority areas over Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Deliberations of shutdowns and curfews come when the Israeli Health Ministry announced they will begin vaccinating the public on December 20. MOSHE FEIGLIN: “CURFEWS ARE LIKE FASTING BETWEEN MEALS” One of the few (if not the only) politicians speaking out against seemingly random and clearly ineffective government policies concerning the pandemic is Moshe Feiglin, leader of libertarian Zionist party Zehut. Feiglin has come out strongly against proposals for mandatory vaccination, advocating instead for a “herd immunity” policy accompanied with a parallel policy protecting the elderly and at-risk population. In September, Feiglin wrote about the ineffectiveness of curfews, describing it as “fasting, but only between meals.” “In simple words – the government understands that it is unable to deal with the Corona because it has lost (and rightly) the public’s trust and the public’s willingness to be disciplined,” Feiglin wrote. He noted that too many factions and segments of societies strayed from government mandates for their own agendas, each justifying their actions above others. He suggested that there were two possible models; full closure as in New Zealand or a complete return to routine. “There is no half pregnancy, no half-filling a cavity in a tooth, and there’s no halfway for the pandemic treatment,” Feiglin wrote. “And because we are not prepared to do this all the way, we have no choice but the second option.” More recently, he wrote a post critical of the government. “For the past several weeks, I have published several posts concerning the faulty management of the corona crisis,” Feiglin wrote. “I have tried to alert you to this mistaken strategy, to speak about the extent of the failure and to point out the serious damage. I have alerted you to the terrible bite that has been taken out of our personal rights – like the right to earn a living with dignity, the freedom to travel and have a social life, the right to an education, and so on.” “I have spoken about the terrible costs associated with the policy of lockdowns – the tests and restrictions, about the collapse of a significant number of small businesses, about the nation-wide and personal depression afflicting hundreds of thousands of Israelis, about the way Israeli schoolchildren are falling behind and the emotional damage they have suffered, about the mental anguish of parents who watch as their children lose all contact with their normal lives – all this even before we began to speak of the sharp increase in cases of family violence and of the suicides, the loss of human dignity, the increase in hatred between groups and factions within Israeli society.” “We haven’t even begun to talk about the enormous theft of public funds – a debt with which we burden our children.” He labels his solution, as described above the “common-sense solution.” RABBI: PANDEMIC MAY LEAD TO END OF DEMOCRACY Rabbi Nachman Kahane, the founder of the Center for Kohanim, suggested one possible outcome of the government’s reaction to the pandemic. He began with a disclaimer. “I am not advocating for rebellion,” Rabbi Kahana said. “But in the long run, the pandemic could create a chaotic situation in the country and the government will have no choice but to use the army to keep control of the democratic institutions. In the end, these institutions will be unworkable and will be canceled. The democratic institutions are, essentially, anti-Torah. Democracy is built on equality but the Torah is not. The Torah is built on identity; the Jews being the chosen people, Kohanim serving in the Temple, each tribe being in its specific portion of the land. This is why the people who say that everything is the same hate the Jewish state and hate Torah.” POST-REDEMPTION: NO MORE HOLIDAYS EXCEPT HANUKKAH AND PURIM In a previous article, Israel365 News examined the Jewish tradition that after the Final Redemption, all of the holidays will be diminished or disappear except for Hanukkah and Purim; the two holidays that have no basis in the Torah. Pertaining to Hanukkah, a Midrash which stated, “In the future, all sacrifices, with the exception of the Thanksgiving-sacrifice, will be discontinued. (Midrash Vayikra Rabbah 9:7)”. Remarkably, this prophecy seems to be manifesting as, indeed, the holidays of Rosh Hashanna, Yom Kippur, and Sukkoth were all conducted during a pandemic shutdown. Similarly, the Yalkut Shimoni, a compilation of rabbinic commentary on the Bible believed to have been composed in the 13th century, states that “All the holidays will be canceled in the future, but the days of Purim will never be canceled.” This is based on a verse in the Book of Esther. Consequently, these days are recalled and observed in every generation: by every family, every province, and every city. And these days of Purim shall never cease among the Yehudim, and the memory of them shall never perish among their descendants. Esther 9:28 Purim will begin this year on March 10. Only time will tell if, as the prophecy predicts, Purim will be celebrated in all its glory. "2021 is literally going to be catastrophic based on what we're seeing at this stage of the game," said Beasley, adding that for a dozen countries, famine is "knocking on the door." He said 2021 was likely to be "the worst humanitarian crisis year since the beginning of the United Nations" 75 years ago and "we're not going to be able to fund everything ... so we have to prioritize, as I say, the icebergs in front of the Titanic." Beasley is feverishly trying to raise more money to meet the rising tide of hunger that he is witnessing all across the planet, but he feels like he is fighting a losing battle. Freakish weather patterns, crippling droughts and colossal armies of locusts have devastated crops throughout 2020, and the COVID pandemic is putting an extreme amount of stress on global food distribution systems. As a result, food prices are surging and hundreds of millions of people living in impoverished countries now find themselves unable to afford enough food to eat on a regular basis. Here in the United States, approximately 50 million people have experienced food insecurity at some point in 2020. According to PBS, this hunger crisis is even worse than what we went through during the last recession... Those fighting hunger say they've never seen anything like this in America, even during the Great Recession of 2007-2009. After the initial wave of fear caused by the COVID pandemic started to subside, a lot of Americans thought that we were out of the woods, but now a new wave of lockdowns is being instituted and CNN is reporting that the hunger crisis in America is actually "getting worse" as we approach the end of the year... Hunger skyrocketed at the pandemic's onset because of record high job losses, school closures and strained food pantries. But at that point, Americans were better positioned to make ends meet with support from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or food stamp, benefits. Yet, as we near year's end, the problem is getting worse, not better. With the expiration of CARES Act benefits and without any hint as to when the next round of federal aid will hit people's pockets, families around the country are suffering and will likely continue to do so throughout the holiday season. Could it be possible that 2021 will end up being even more painful for hungry Americans than 2020 was? That is difficult to imagine, because the numbers from this year have been truly horrific. The AP analyzed Feeding America data from 181 different food banks, and they found that those food banks had given out 57 percent more food in 2020 than they did in 2019. If the demand continues to skyrocket, eventually there simply will not be enough food for everyone. We are all familiar with the photographs from the Great Depression that show men waiting in very long lines for free food. Well, the same thing is happening now, but with a twist. Needy people are lining up as early as 2 AM and are waiting in their vehicles for up to 12 hours just to get a few bags of provisions from their local food banks... The history books are filled with iconic images of America's struggles against hunger. Among the most memorable are the Depression-era photos of men standing in breadlines, huddled in long coats and fedoras, their eyes large with fear. An overhead sign reads: "Free Soup. Coffee and a Doughnut for the Unemployed." This year's portrait of hunger has a distinctively bird's eye view: Enormous traffic jams captured from drone-carrying cameras. Cars inching along, each driver waiting hours for a box or bag of food. From Anaheim, California to San Antonio, Texas to Toledo, Ohio and Orlando, Florida and points in-between, thousands of vehicles carrying hungry people queued up for miles across the horizon. In New York, and other large cities, people stand, waiting for blocks on end. Of course my readers were warned in advance that all of this was coming. For years I have been warning my readers that economic collapse, civil unrest and global famine were approaching, and I strongly urged everyone to stockpile food and supplies. Now we are constantly being bombarded by headlines that declare that the days that I have been warning about are here, and 2021 threatens to be even worse than 2020 was. Today, I came across a news story that I think is an appropriate metaphor for what we are potentially facing in 2021. Hundreds of black vultures have invaded the town of Marietta, Pennsylvania and they are causing tremendous problems. They are tearing up rooftops and garbage cans, they are defecating all over the place, and they "spew vomit that smells 'like rotting corpses' on sidewalks and homes". Residents have been desperately trying to scare them away, but they can't shoot the vultures because they are protected by law... More permanent solutions are in short supply, as the black vulture is federally protected and can't be exterminated without permission. It's illegal in the US to trap, kill or own black vultures without a permit and violators can face a fine of up to $15,000 and up to six months in prison. So those vultures will get to stay in Marietta for as long as they wish. Sadly, vultures are now circling over America too. I have written countless articles about the rotting, decaying carcass that our society has become, and those that hate traditional American values have increasingly gained more and more power. Now we are just a few weeks away from the start of 2021, and there is every indication that it is going to be an exceedingly painful year. I love America and the freedom we once had to worship freely, work hard, and pursue happiness, but our Constitutional rights are being trampled on and it seems we’re moving towards destruction. America had its beginning when the Pilgrims fled their homes in order to enjoy religious freedom. Eventually, it became necessary to declare independence from the tyranny of England, a war was fought, and a Constitution was written which guarantees rights and limits government. Today, evil is strong and Satan seems to be winning the battle for America. What’s causing this fall into destruction? “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34. God is being rejected and sin is being exalted; Godly values are laughed at and sin is legalized. I remember the United States from a more Christian time. When I was in 8th grade my class spent time before our Christmas break (not winter holiday) practicing songs like “Silent Night”, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”, and “The First Noel”. On the final day of school before Christmas break, we went out into the community and sang these songs house to house. Today, we don’t want to offend anyone by saying Merry Christmas, schools teach evolution as fact, make it seem OK for Tommy to have two mommies, and ask transgender storytellers to read to our children, yet we ask God to stop the madness that’s gripping this nation. God cannot be blamed for the evil that’s destroying this nation, because His will is being rejected. Even professing Christians keep silent instead of demanding the government return to Biblical ways. The last election was an IQ test and America failed. Shame on us. “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:19-21. Do you love the darkness of sin? We cannot live in both darkness and light at the same time. Christians must submit to God’s will and stand upon Biblical truth and moral values. If Christians don’t faithfully follow God’s will in these troubled times, then we can’t blame Him for the problems which are tearing America apart, as well as the entire world, Nations rise and fall, and the history of America seems to be coming to an end. Why? Whether you look to the Northern Kingdom of Israel, which fell to the Assyrians, the Southern Kingdom of Judah, which fell to the Babylonians, or America which is falling to the socialistic evil of the One World Order, there’s a common thread: Rejection of God’s Laws. Worshipping false gods, practicing child sacrifice, and following man’s will instead of God’s will are sins that can only lead to destruction. The only thing that would have stopped the fall of Israel’s two kingdoms would have been a return to a right relationship with God. The same is true of America. There are many Christians who cry out to God for His mercy, but our voices are drowned out by many who just don’t care or who think this madness is normal. “O LORD, how long, shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! Even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save! Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? For spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention. Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.” Habakkuk 1:2-4. Can you feel Habakkuk’s anguish? Those words, written so long ago, seem fresh today. God does listen. He hears our prayer and is willing to act, but we can’t have it both ways. We can’t have His blessings unless we repent and submit to Him. That’s what is missing today…repentance. How many Christians accept sin as a normal part of life? “One-night stands” are sin. Pornography is sin, even if it’s disguised as a movie or music. Abortion is sin. Homosexuality is sin. Why does it seem God isn’t listening? Our sin gets in the way. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20. Those words were written in a letter from Jesus to the congregation at Laodicea. They represent the final era of the “church age”. The people sitting in the pews are happy in their ignorance and are apathetic to God will. Jesus hasn’t stopped knocking on the door and waiting for each individual to invite Him in. That means turning away from the ways of the world. Will you answer His knock and submit your will to His? There’s still time to repent before America completely falls. Many are praying for revival and for God to intervene, but it’s important to understand that prayer isn’t “magic words” where we tell Jesus what He will do. When we pray for God to make America great again, we need to repent of our sins, turn away from worldly ways, and submit to God’s will. Those of us who study prophecy know that America isn’t a strong power at the end of days. God exists outside of time and has seen history in advance. He told us what will happen because He has seen it. What we do with that knowledge is up to us. By looking at the signs God gave us, we know that we are near the end of life as we know it. We can pray that God saves America, but unless we change our moral ways, we will be destroyed. An example is found in the Book of Jonah. Nineveh was a city filled with wickedness. God notices things like that, but His desire is for repentance…even in a wicked Gentile city. He sent Jonah to preach to them. “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.” Jonah 1:2. Likewise, God has seen the wickedness of America. Nineveh was the capital of Assyria and the people were very brutal and sinful. Jonah was sent to preach repentance to Nineveh “And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.” Jonah 3:4. What did they do? They repented and submitted their will to God’s will. Because they changed their ways, God spared them. There’s still time for America to reject the sin and wickedness that’s gripping this nation; there’s time to reject the evil leadership that will soon take office and lead us to destruction. Unless we submit our will to God’s, America will be destroyed. Brothers and sisters, don’t keep silent, but preach God’s. Unless our will is in line with God’s will, destruction will come very soon. I have to admit that there are times that it feels as if God is far away and my prayers go out into space and aren’t heard. I’m not the first to feel that way, and I’m sure many Christians today feel the same. “Why, standest thou afar off O LORD? Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?” Psalm 10:1. The Psalmist goes on to describe how wicked people were behaving in a despicable way against people who were less fortunate and helpless to resist. “Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.” Psalm 10:15. It’s tempting to pray that God take vengeance against the people today who are leading America into destruction. On the other hand, that’s my will, not God’s. Jesus came into this world to give everyone the chance to repent and to find eternal life through His blood. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17. Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ, and only faith in Him can change the hearts of men…and women. That means politicians also have a chance to repent and change their ways. God doesn’t condemn anyone to Hell, but the unrepentant condemn themselves. “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:18. Maybe instead of praying against the evil, we should pray for repentance and salvation of the evil doers. My will is that the wicked pay for their wickedness, but God’s will is that everyone comes to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. The last election shows just how wicked and evil America has become. Christians know that this world isn’t our home, but while we live here, we need to witness to the lost and do what we can to share the Gospel. Only Jesus Christ can change hearts, but we need to speak His truth. It should be our will, as it is God’s will, that the lost should come to redemption the Jesus Christ. We are rapidly moving towards the very end of time. Prophecy gives us the road map, and we are very close to the Rapture. Some of the events that God has foreseen are a little disturbing. For instance, America doesn’t seem to be named in the final years of history. Could it be that America is about to collapse? The destruction of Nineveh was avoided for a few years because they repented. God also gave Israel directions about avoiding judgment for their wickedness. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14. Can America avoid collapse? America isn’t God’s chosen land, Israel is. Christian’s, though, are called by Christ’s name. We need to repent of our wicked ways, humble ourselves, seek God, and allow our will to be God’s will. Many people who claim Christ as their Saviour haven’t repented of their sin. Sexual immorality, abortion, choosing ungodly companions, etc., is not God’s will. Most people who are praying for America aren’t praying for repentance and forgiveness, and many don’t want to give up their own sin and wickednesss. The end times are upon us, the Rapture is in the very near future, so don’t delay in repenting and turning from your own wickedness, and then share with others. We know that God’s desire is for everyone to come to repentance, so praying “Thy will be done” is where we need to start. How can we expect God to bless America unless Americans turn from the wickedness of their own will and wicked intents? Stop living in opposition to God. “The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.” Proverbs 19:3. Daily Jot: The false prophets of national deception – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Two days late and playing “catch up,” mainstream media is finally covering the Texas lawsuit at the Supreme Court questioning election results in Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, but they are still calling the efforts “dubious” and “baseless.” CNN, for example, used unnamed “critics” to explain its long-held political position on the election: “Critics of the President and his allies say the case reflects an audacious and legally dubious gambit to keep the lawsuits flowing in order to prolong baseless claims that President-elect Joe Biden’s victory was somehow illegitimate.” CNN said that “although all 50 states have certified their election results” SCOTUS is now “grappling” with the Texas “bid.” Fox News took a slightly different approach, jumping to the story that 17 states, led by Missouri, filed a brief with SCOTUS supporting the Texas lawsuit. Fox reported: “The brief mirrors the argument of the Texas suit in saying that the states acted unconstitutionally when either their judiciaries or executive branches changed their elections laws. The Texas suit, and the states that support it, say that only state legislatures may set laws regarding how states appoint their presidential electors.” The Fox story was straight down the line news explaining the who, what, why, where and when, although it also didn’t cover the story as breaking news, at least on its website. Associated Press, which controls most news coverage as news outlets use the wire service as their source, had no mention of the Texas lawsuit or the 17 states joining it. AP was one of the first entities to call the election for Democrat Joe Biden and has repeatedly reported that election fraud challenges were baseless. CBS News skipped the Texas story and opted for a story headlined: “Electoral College is last long-shot chance for Trump allies to challenge election results.” The story reviews dates and processes for the seating of the electoral college and bemoans that Republican congressmen and senators have not acknowledged a Biden victory, in which he received 306 electoral votes. The story does not mention the Texas lawsuit. NBC News wrote a brief story about President Trump having a closed-door meeting with state Attorney Generals “after filing a motion to join a Supreme Court challenge launched by Texas that seeks to invalidate President-elect Joe Biden’s election win in four battleground states.” The story links to an Op Ed quoting several law professors saying the case is “hopeless.” Reviewing these news stories, one can see the bias in reporting and how the news media seeks to move the public toward a certain groupthink mindset. These stories challenge common sense and discernment. 1 John 4:1 says, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” This is so true in so many ways! Home, for me, was sort of a blank when I was growing up. I never really had what you would call a home. We lived in houses, we lived in apartments, and we lived in hotel rooms. Sometimes, we stayed in other people’s houses. Because my mother was running around living her crazy life, I never had anything even resembling a home. It got a whole lot better when Christ came into my life. And then I met Cathe, and we built a home with our two sons. It wasn’t a fancy home. In fact, we had furniture from the Salvation Army that was coming apart. But it was a loving home, and it was the first time in my life that I understood what home meant. And I actually wanted to be home. I think deep down inside, we all long for home. Jesus went from a heavenly home to a barn filled with animals. All so we could have a home in Heaven. We romanticize the story of His birth in Bethlehem, yet it really was a very cold, damp, unsanitary place for a baby to be born. But that is exactly where the Lord came to us: in a humble manger. He was born so that we could be born again. Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:23 NKJV). He left His home in Heaven to make a home in our hearts.
