For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:1-8 If you are anything like me, 2020 has been an extremely trying year. Not only have we been subject to the Great Reset in real-time (e.g., faux-pandemic lockdowns, massive unemployment, riots, lawlessness, epic fraud on a grand scale, etc.), but it looks like our national leaders are hell-bent on suiciding the nation. In fact, I was tempted to title this article, The Swamp Strikes Back, given the seemingly hopeless, uphill battle Trump and his 75,000,000 loyal supporters have endured this election cycle. However, that seemed a bit too nihilistic, even for me. It would seem, the world of 2020 has become every bit as much like the world of 1914. One half pretends no existential threats exist, while the other is about to start a civil war over the former’s willful ignorance. All the world is kindling, and a single spark could set it ablaze. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 2 Cor. 4:3-4 I suppose, were I not a Bible-believing Christian, my faith in our system would have crashed on the rocks of inevitability, long ago. Nevertheless, I am a Bible-believing Christian, so my faith is not rooted in government institutions, regardless of how noble. Furthermore, I am a Bible-believing Christian who actually takes serious, the warnings Scripture affords us regarding the end times. The truth, aside from the fact bible prophecy comes from God Himself and not outcome determinative of man’s opinion, is the evidence we are now witnessing. It is not simply the signs in and of themselves, which have been present more or less in every generation since Jesus walked the earth; it is the convergence of all of them together in a single generation. · Nation (ethnos) rising against nation (ethnos) · Kingdom against kingdom · Wars, rumors of wars · Earthquakes in divers places · Pestilences · Love of many growing cold · Rise of apostasy, complacency, and luke-warmness · Rebirth of national Israel · Formation of a revived, unified, Roman Empire (EU, UfM, NATO, etc.) · Globalism, global anxiety, global crisis · Rapid advancements in travel, medicine, weaponry, global communications, etc. · The death of fiat currency, traditional economics, and the rise of digital currency · Artificial intelligence, quantum technology, Internet of Things (IoT), etc. The 20th and 21st centuries have seen more carnage, bloodshed, destruction, and ruin than the previous 19 centuries combined. There is simply no comparison between what we have witnessed in these past 120 years (or since 1900), then anything in history, with the exception of the Flood. The question many are asking now is how much longer can this go on? When is not only a great question, it is the appropriate question we are all asking and one I hope to shed some light on here today. We see so much evil and wickedness in the world today, and our souls are increasingly vexed. That is not simply our own sensibilities being offended, but the Holy Spirit who lives in us taking issue with the increasing lawlessness. Granted, there are some unregenerate (unredeemed) who are equally appalled at the wickedness they see in the world, yet that is simply the residue of the God-imprinted conscious He has put in all of humanity. Still, the unregenerate soul has no solution to the systemic problem of universal decay due to sin; all he has are man-centric, temporary solutions (politics, philosophy, war) that cannot fix what is broken. Only Jesus can make the universe right and whole again. Allow me to provide three controlling principles that will guide my thought process here moving forward. 1. Nothing physical lasts forever. Our universe (our reality) is winding down. Man cannot change this. 2. God will execute His strategy. Mankind may not like it, but there is no avoiding it. 3. The Lord is coming back soon. We may not know the day or hour of the Rapture, but we will know the season (if we are watching). Assessment Not too long ago, I came across a compelling video about the Berisheet Passover Prophecy. I tried looking it up through other ministries to see what their take on it was, but I couldn’t find anything negative about it. Quoting here from Bill Perkin’s website on the meaning of Berisheet. The very first word spoken by the Lord that is recorded in scripture is the single word Berisheet. It means “In beginning” (“the” is added in English). Berisheet is composed of six Hebrew letters. Read from right to left, “Berisheet” looks like this when written today: · Beit- House or tent · Resh- the head person or prince · Aleph- (ox) strength or strong leader · Shen- (teeth) devouring/destruction · Yod- hand · Tau- cross As noted above, each of the letters has its own meaning and numerical significance. What is compelling about what Rock Island Books has done was to draw out in painstaking detail their hypothesis of God’s millennial perspective. The millennial perspective is the theory of the divine modeling for all of creation, meaning the seven days of creation (6 work- 1 rest) will equal the seven millennia of human history. Six millennia (or 6,000 years) have thus transpired. We await one final millennium (The Kingdom led by Christ Jesus). [We use the word theory, not because it may not happen, but because it has not happened yet.] This Berisheet Prophecy centers around the idea God used Creation to show our past, present, and future history will turn out in advance (Isaiah 46:9-10). Their timeline does not begin at Creation itself (4004BC), but with Adam’s fall (3970BC). They demonstrate the death of Jesus on Mt. Calvary is the fulcrum for which all of history rests. Therefore, if Jesus’s sacrifice is the fulcrum upon which our reality hinges upon, then they must start with Adam’s fall because before Adam sinned, he did not need a savior. Thus using Adam’s fall and the millennial perspective, the 70th Week of Daniel must begin by 2023. They do not, however, give a proposed date of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, because as Scripture states, no man knows the day or hour. Now, my two personal concerns regarding all of this are with using the year 4004BC as a start point. I know there is some debate over this, and I am not educated enough in it to make a definitive argument either way. I know this was James Ussher’s timeline, and I tend to agree with it, but if we are wrong on this exact start point, then it throws their entire hypothesis into question. My only other concern was regarding man’s recollection of time. We know that there have been at least three major calendars used in the West, and even these have changed over time. There is the Hebrew lunar calendar, the Julian calendar, and the Gregorian calendar. Again, I am not versed enough in this subject to make a definitive claim either way. However, if this Berisheet Prophecy is correct, then we are very close to the Rapture indeed. Again, watch the video and come to your own conclusions, but I think you will find it as compelling as I did. Now I mention all of this, to say how I (and others) fully believe that we are in the decade of our Lord’s return. I believed this before ever watching the video or even knowing anything about the Berisheet Passover Prophecy. However, if they are right, then perhaps Trump’s loss (or reelection) figures into the formation of the coming final world government. Let me add some of my own thoughts to this idea that this Berisheet Prophecy is in fact, correct. First, Daniel 12:4 says; “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Now, not only did national Israel cease to be a nation in 70AD due to Roman violence but also their language eventually died out during the Jewish Diaspora. Hebrew was a dead language until about the turn of the 20th-century. How is it now that we are coming to discover all these fascinating truths about the Bible after nearly two millennia? Well, it commenced when God began stirring the Jewish people in Europe to return to their native tongue, thus uniting them in purpose, decades before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the rebirth of Israel. My second thought on this is our understanding of the Olivet Discourse. As my good friend Ron is quick to point out, the Olivet Discourse is technically for the Jews, not the Church. Perhaps the main reason there are so much debate and consternation over its meanings is that it was not for the Church to understand, especially Matthew’s Gospel. Therefore, it is interesting to me that both the first and last books of the New Testament are the most Jewish-centric in all of the New Testament canon. For instance, Matthew begins Jesus’s genealogy not from Adam, but Abraham. Many things in Matthew’s Gospel are not explained to the reader, because they (the Jews) did not need it explained. Whereas the other Gospel’s (Mark, Luke, and John) do explain Jewish euphemisms and events as they were intended for more Gentile-centric audiences. The book of Revelation likewise, as given to the last-living apostle, John, in 95AD borrows heavily from the Old Testament. Perhaps, when the Jews finally do recognize who Jesus really was/is (their Messiah) it would be in the middle of the Tribulation. They will not have time to digest the entirety of the New Testament. It has taken the Church nearly two-thousand years and we still disagree on much of what Jesus and the Apostles said. How much can they understand in 3.5 years, while under extreme duress? Conclusion But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you. 2 Cor. 4:7-12 If I could paraphrase Dr. Andy Woods here, Genesis 1-2 and Rev 20-21 are the real normal. Everything else is an aberration of that. Think about that for a moment. What we see around us, is not normal. Not even, close. We exist in a broken version of what God had originally intended. He is coming back soon, to fix what we messed up. Presumably sooner rather than later, if the Berisheet Prophecy is correct. If you would humor me for a moment, I have often used the analogy to my own kids that our entire universe, is like a fish tank. God does not exist in the fish tank with us because we are bound to time; He is not. Nevertheless, He sees everything and can intervene when He deems necessary, but He has largely allowed us to manage our own tank. The results? As man is fallible, temporary, and mortal, things went downhill from the start beginning with Cain. Our tank went from pristine and clear, to grimy and spoiled so much so that God had to change the tank out once already, sparing only eight fish (the Flood). The second time He does this, He will remove His own out first, and then began a massive purging process. Upon completion, He will move into the tank, expanding it, and keeping it pristine for one-thousand years. Beyond that, I believe, He takes the walls off the tank and allows the water to spread in every direction infinitely, continually exploring, building, discovering, and creating an infinite realm of worlds, dimensions, etc. This might be a silly analogy, but apply the truth of it into our world and we can put in perspective, all the wickedness and injustice we see all around us today. If we can apply this to what is going on today, it seems the entire world system is hedging against Trump. Either one of two things will happen: either God will pull out a last-minute victory for him and continue to use him to set the prophetic stage, or God will allow the wicked to steal this election in the egregious manner they have done, and expedite our rendezvous with divine destiny. Either way, God’s will, will be done. To be clear- Trump is not our savior. He is simply, in my mind, a barometer, of the world’s wickedness. He is representative of the average man, who, with a God-given conscience, can see something is deeply wrong with this world. We have never had a president who has so brazenly taking on, not just the American deep state, but also the global deep state. Think of all the things he has exposed in just four short years. Look at all he has exposed as complicit in the destruction of western civilization and the advancement of Luciferianism: the media, the bureaucracy in D.C., the courts, the U.N., academia, Hollywood, the military-industrial complex, big pharmacy, etc. Did we really expect they would let him stay at the top? I am beginning to believe God just used Trump (aside from his prophetic dealings with Israel), to expose the level of corruption (grime and muck) we have come to accept as normal in this world. Despite all the evidence that he overwhelmingly won this election, the world does not care. The world wants him out so they can continue, mucking up the fish tank unimpeded. Well, if I am correct and Trump is the symbolic weather vane in God’s prophetic dealings, Trump’s fraudulent defeat can only mean the winds are changing, and something terrible this way comes. To my fellow believer do not be dismayed, even if Trump loses and the world, which hates you, ramps up its persecutions against you…. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Cor. 4:16-18 Nearing Midnight: God’s Warning to Evildoers – Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ Never-ending reports bombard our radios, television sets, computers, and personal devices every second of every day. They continuously bring to light (to the spiritually attuned) the evil that comes from every direction. We have had to agree with Lot, who endured evil that perhaps eclipsed even that of our time. We, like Lot, are sorely vexed. One Christian friend emailed me her vexation—voiced through the synthesized speech program I have to use due to being blind. She indicated she shared the note with many others as well, including whomever looks at email at the White House. She says the following, in part: Terry: Below is an excerpt from your commentary today. You are right. My own anger and indignation just keeps building, just as you describe. Still, as the battle rages, the force that resists is largely hidden, spiritually speaking. But it is there, and it is a pent-up force that I sense is about to be unleashed in ways those of us within whom it resides can’t fully fathom. This is the Lord’s Day, which I normally devote to sweet communion with Jesus in the Lord’s Supper and meditation and prayer, but I woke up with angry words in my mind this morning and before I could find peace and solace with our Lord I had to vent—and the result is what I just emailed off to our do-nothing Attorney General… TO: Bill Barr Rudy Giuliani says Bill Barr does NOT want to know the truth, which has been painfully obvious to us all. The causes of Lot’s vexation as compared to Mary’s vary only in terms of the issues: those of ancient times versus those of our own times. The chief architect of the evil of Lot’s day, our day, and all other times in human history is the same. Satan invades with his surreptitious insidiousness the minds—the very souls—of fallen humanity. He foments rebellion, brings forth false accusation, and implants hatred within the thoughts of “earth dwellers,” as people are called in the KJV. Yet the most egregious of the vexing evil is the same, and is front and center in these times as it was back then. Political wickedness filled ancient culture in Sodom, in that all of society obviously was mad with sensuality and lust that was permitted—even condoned, no doubt by government. However, homosexuality reigned supreme, it’s obvious from the Genesis chapter 19 account. The LGBTQ lobby today, although population-wise is small, has managed to politically/legally all but silence those who would oppose their assault on the morality of the nation. The past four or five years have given rise to evil that threatens to unleash total debauchery like that out of which the Lord took Lot, whom He called “just” (meaning “righteous”). The God of Heaven says the following by way of warning for those who follow the pernicious ways of the evildoers of Lot’s day. The Lord, through the Psalmist, begins by giving those who are “sorely vexed” great hope. “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” (Psalms 37:1–11) To understand fully God’s pronouncement against evil and His promise to the righteous, read the entire passage of Psalm 37. But for those who are presently entrapped in evildoing, there remains hope—Jesus Christ, the “Blessed Hope.” “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) A Nation Divided Shall Surely Fall - by Michael Snyder - http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/a-nation-divided-shall-surely-fall/ It is often said that a house divided will surely fall, and the same thing can now be said for the United States as a whole. If there is anything that this election has made clear, it is the fact that there is little hope of healing the very deep divisions that exist in our country. Most of those on the political left absolutely hate those on the political right, and most of those on the political right absolutely hate those on the political left. But it isn’t as if the two opposing sides are even united. The radical left is absolutely disgusted with “moderate Democrats” such as Joe Biden and is very much looking forward to the day when their “progressive revolution” finally triumphs in America. Meanwhile, the right is hopelessly divided into countless political, religious and economic factions, and there is endless conflict between “conservatives” that are pro-Trump and those that are anti-Trump. Over the past 30 years, not much has actually gotten done in D.C., but what little has been accomplished has almost always involved more spending, more debt and more socialism. One of the reasons why the United States became such a great nation is because originally we were united by a core set of values and principles. In the beginning, everything was about faith, family and freedom. Our notions of right and wrong were defined by the Christian faith, the family was the most important institution in our society, and early Americans were desperate for freedom after experiencing deep oppression over in Europe. But now we have completely abandoned all of that. The Christian faith has been relentlessly pushed to the fringes of public life, the traditional family unit is mocked while rampant sexual immorality is celebrated all over America, and with each passing day our freedoms are being eroded even more. At this point, our Constitution has essentially been relegated to being “just a piece of paper” that sits in the National Archives. It has been trampled on over and over again in recent years, and the courts do not seem to care. In fact, much of the time it is the courts that are doing the trampling. We have now gotten to a point where our nation is almost ungovernable. When Barack Obama first entered the White House, millions upon millions of Americans did not consider him to be a legitimate president. Then when Donald Trump won the election in 2016, even more Americans did not recognize the legitimacy of his presidency. Of course that trend is only going to intensify now that Biden is being installed as president. According to one brand new survey, a whopping 82 percent of all Trump supporters do not believe that Biden is the “legitimate winner of the 2020 election”… A strong majority of Donald Trump supporters reject the legitimacy of Joe Biden as President-elect, with many citing election irregularities and the most pervasive censorship campaign in American history in support of Biden on the part of Big Tech companies. A poll released Sunday by CBS News reveals that 82% of self-identifying Trump supporters do not recognize Biden as the “legitimate winner of the 2020 election.” Of course if the election results were reversed and Donald Trump was given another four years, a similar percentage of Democrats would almost certainly not be willing to recognize the legitimacy of Trump’s victory. No matter who is in the White House from now on, tens of millions of Americans are not going to accept that individual as being legitimate. And thanks to the events of the past several weeks, the election fraud that has been going on for decades in this country has now been exposed for everyone to see. From this point forward, a very high percentage of Americans will not have any faith that our elections are fair. If people don’t believe in the system, it is just a matter of time before it completely fails. John Adams once made the following statement… Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. Today, the American people are neither moral nor religious. Instead, we have evolved into an “idiocracy” that is dominated by power-hungry control freaks. If you go back and read the extremely eloquent things that our founders had to say in their time, you will quickly realize that the way that we speak and write today is completely different. If they could have traveled to our time and interacted with us, we would have seemed like cavemen to them. Most of us can barely hold conversations with others, and when we do it is mostly just a bunch of unintelligible gibberish. But even though we have been dramatically “dumbed down” over the decades, if we could at least try to get along with one another we could still have a functional society. Sadly, I have never seen more hatred in our country than I am seeing now, and it just keeps on growing. You would think that Democrats would have an interest in at least trying to pull the country together, but instead they just keep rubbing their “victory” in the faces of their enemies. For example, just consider something that Debra Messing just said… The “Will & Grace” star — one of Hollywood’s most vocal Trump critics — expressed a desire for the president to “live a long life in prison” in a tweet to her more than 677,000 followers last week. She called Trump “a weak, scared, stupid, inept, negligent, vindictive, narcissistic, criminal” before writing she hoped he became “the most popular boyfriend to the all inmates.” Can you feel the love in those words? Yes, let the healing begin. More blood was spilled on the streets of D.C. over the weekend, and the left and the right will continue to go after one another in the weeks and months ahead. We have now entered a period of semi-permanent civil unrest in this country, and what we have experienced so far is just the beginning. If we would return to the values and principles that our nation was founded upon, our future could be very different. But that is not what the American people seem to want. So we will continue to steamroll toward oblivion, and there is no future for our nation if we stay on the road that we are currently on. When 2-year-olds are thrown off planes, you know America has changed – Dennis Prager - https://www.wnd.com/2020/12/2-year-olds-thrown-off-planes-know-america-changed/ You may have seen the video of the family thrown off a United Airlines airplane because the 2-year-old daughter would not wear a mask. Though the family wore masks and the father promised to cover his daughter's face with a mask that he placed on her face, it made no difference. Though the child was completely asymptomatic, and though it is exceedingly rare for a child to transmit COVID-19 to an adult – that is why Sweden kept its schools open all spring and summer, with its students not wearing masks – the airline had its orders, and the flight attendant duly obeyed them. As I watched the video, I wondered what the flight attendant thought. For example, did he think this was absurd, not to mention cruel? Did he know that 2-year-olds present virtually no health risk? Did he wonder why adults can sit without masks inches from other passengers while eating but a 2-year-old seated only next to family needed a mask? Or did he think he was performing a noble service in kicking a family off an airplane because their 2-year-old wouldn't wear a mask? I hope he thought he was enforcing an idiotic rule and had no choice. Then there is hope for him and for America. Otherwise, he's an irrational automaton, among the scariest people in any society. Does United Airlines think it's enforcing a rational and humane policy, regarding 2-year-olds as dangerous disease spreaders? Here is what we can assume: United Airlines has made the calculation that if it doesn't enforce every directive from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, two bad things will result: 1) People will be too scared to fly United; 2) If anyone gets COVID-19 after a United flight on which a 2-year-old was allowed to fly without a mask, the airline will be sued. Regarding children and mask-wearing, the CDC website states, "Masks should NOT be worn by children under the age of 2." The CDC capitalizes "NOT." So, while the CDC is adamant children under the age of 2 must NOT wear a face mask, a child who just turned 2 constitutes a mortal danger to others on the plane – and must be ejected from the plane if she just won't cover her face. Welcome to America 2020. It is not overstated to declare the year 2020 the year it became legitimate to question whether America could still declare itself either "the Land of the Free" or "the Home of the Brave." Maybe it really is time to replace the national anthem with some other song that doesn't have us singing what so many of us no longer believe in. When half of America sings those words, they are no longer referring to themselves or what they want America to be. About half of us – more or less, the half that voted Donald Trump for president – still believes that America should be the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. But half of us, including the entire elite – the major media; the entire educational system from elementary school through graduate school; national, most state and all major city bureaucracies; and the Democratic Party – neither value freedom nor seek to be brave. When I see Americans walking outdoors with masks on, my first reaction is to mourn the death of reason and my second is to wonder what college they attended. Because one of the many other awful things colleges do to most of their students is make them afraid: afraid not only of dying if they pass another human being while walking their dog but also of dying from global warming, and afraid of any ideas not inculcated into them by their school. That's why they and most of their professors object to conservatives speaking at their school. To the brainwashed, different ideas are frightening and make them feel "unsafe" (hence, "safe spaces" at so many colleges). When viruses killed the equivalent of about 165,000 Americans in 1968 and about 225,000 in 1957 (numbers adjusted based on the current U.S. population), healthy Americans did not quarantine; no one hid behind masks; no school closed; no store or restaurant went out of business. Why? Because people understood that viruses and death are tragic parts of life, and it never occurred to them to deprive children of their studies, their friends and their childhood. It didn't occur to Americans that because some people contracted a virus and died, 99% of the population should stop living and earning livelihoods. In that America, the news media were not singularly dedicated to frightening Americans. And most important, the left had not yet succeeded in ruining the country; after all, far fewer Americans went to college at that time, and high school and elementary school teachers still viewed their vocation as a call to teach, not indoctrinate. All of this explains how we got to the place where United Airlines could throw a 2-year-old girl off an airplane while presumably half the passengers supported her eviction and the other half was cowed into silence. There will be a political and legal solution. Many will not like it. Some will. But the bottom line is that what we value as a Constitutional Republic has been morphed into some socialist hybrid over the years. The Republic is no longer, nor has it been for decades, a Republic in the eyes of the Founders. There has been a long, slippery slope of the government becoming the provider and enslaver of the poor, the enabler of the rich, the mediator of the cunning, and the arbitrator of the moral. For many, government has already replaced God. And when we are looking for solutions, government seems to be the first place to go. People get all riled up when they are challenged that a dictator, from any political viewpoint, is still a dictator and must not be entrusted to “fix” what is broken. “Oh,” they say, “We are going to have a civil war. The enemy is the Democrats and Socialists.” That’s exactly what the Democrats and Socialists have been saying—only conservatives and Christians are the enemy. And guess what? They have already declared a civil war and have been fighting it fiercely with the help of corporate media giants and allies in Russia and China. The casualties are obvious to some—we can’t even hold a fair election. People are so confused by the lack of truth that they can’t make a common sense decision. But the casualties are even worse. People are dependent on government. They are addicted to propaganda. They wring their hands over every move the politicians make. They live and breath political intolerance—on all sides of the political spectrum. They practice ideological bigotry—if someone disagrees with someone’s views, they are seen as enemies, not fellow humans. Nobody trusts anybody. Everyone is looking for solutions, but unwilling to sit and reason because of mutual distrust, lack of respect and, quite frankly, hate for fellow man. No longer is the solution to problems found when the crucible of ideas from respectful dialogue is poured out onto the problem. There is no generation of dialogue, respectful or otherwise, to fill the crucible of ideas. Do you really want a solution? The “church” should abandon its self-indulgent, emotional and extra-biblical response to society and teach without judgment the precepts of God, and that will change things. But it will take time because the “church” has abrogated its authority to a government that provides what the “church” once did, robbing both the “church” and the recipients of the manifest blessings of the Lord. Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Thus says the LORD: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” If we will not walk in it, hate and persecution will greet us on this current path. In the absence of the Lord, solutions are but vapor feeding a soulless hoard that is never satisfied. The solution begins with seeking the Lord, not political solutions, and taking action. She was living in Nazareth, a nowhere town in a nowhere place. Nazareth was known for its wickedness. In fact, when Philip invited Nathanael to see Jesus, Nathanael asked, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” (John 1:46 NKJV). Roman soldiers stopped in Nazareth on their way from one place to another. And more than one young girl living in the city ended up pregnant out of wedlock. Despite this immoral backdrop, Mary lived a godly life. She wasn’t some princess; she was just an ordinary peasant girl. But God handpicked her to be the most privileged woman to ever walk the earth. God chose her to be the mother of the Messiah and sent the angel Gabriel to tell her. Two angels stand out in Scripture: Michael and Gabriel. And when one of them shows up, you know something big is going down. Gabriel said to Mary, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” (Luke 1:28 NKJV). Loosely paraphrased, he was saying, “God has handpicked you to be the mother of the Messiah.” Mary was surprised because she had true humility. In fact, the more spiritual you are, the more aware you’ll be of your own sinfulness. Later, in what is known as the Magnificat, Mary said, “My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant” (Luke 1:47–48 NKJV). Maybe you’ve thought, “I’m living in obscurity, nobody cares about me, and my life doesn’t matter.” Your life does matter. It matters a lot. God is at work in your life. And just as He was preparing Mary, He’s preparing you for the plans He has for you.
