"About the time of the end, a body
of men will be raised up, who
will turn their attention to the
prophecies, in the midst of much
clamor and opposition."
From the outset, we are given the most important
truth about the Book of Revelation: it does show us
the Antichrist, it does show us God's judgment,
it does show us calamity on the earth, it does
show us Mystery Babylon and all it entails -
but most of all, it reveals Jesus Christ to us.
If we catch everything else, but miss Jesus
in the book, we have missed the book.
Blessed is he that readeth, and
they that hear the words of this
prophecy, and keep those things
which are written therein:
for the time is at hand.
-Lord Jesus Christ
Have you ever tried to read the book of Revelation? A lot of people start reading the bible and skip to the end to find out what happens. If you don't know what you are reading, this can be really scary.
Dragons, bowls, trumpets, seals, all kinds of signs and symbols, sights and sounds. How does it all fit together, and what is it trying to tell me. Can we understand the book of Revelation?
The answer is yes! Not only can we understand the book of Revelation, but in doing so, we can receive a blessing from the Lord. How many books do you know that can do that?
"Blessed is he who reads aloud the words of the prophecy, and blessed are those who hear and who keep what is written therein: for the time is near." (Revelation 1:3)
So, dive in and trust the Lord, that he will give you wisdom and understanding as we go verse by verse through the book of Revelation.
This study and commentary is not the final answer, it is done through much prayer, and study, over the last 32 years. I do hope that I wet your appetite enough to do your own homework and study. I will try to stimulate you, paint you a good picture and leave you thirsty for more.
Always remember Acts 17:11, "...in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether these things were so."
