The number 137 or 1/137 is well-known in the scientific community, especially in the fields of physics and quantum electrodynamics (QED). There's a unique, non-dimensional atomic constant in physics known as “alpha” or the “Fine Structure Constant.”
 
Here is how Wikipedia describes it: In physics, the fine-structure constant, also known as the Sommerfeld constant, commonly denoted by α (the Greek letter alpha), is a fundamental physical constant that quantifies the strength of the electromagnetic interaction between elementary charged particles. It is a dimensionless quantity, independent of the system of units used, which is related to the strength of the coupling of an elementary charge e with the electromagnetic field, by the formula 4πε0ħcα = e2. Its numerical value is approximately 0.0072973525682 ≃ 1/137.035999206.
 
The brilliant physicist Richard Feynman (1918-1988) thought that this special number may well be the key to the fundamental structure of the universe around us. He called it “one of the greatest mysteries of physics: a magic number that comes to us with no understanding by man.” That magic number, called the fine structure constant, is a fundamental constant, with a value that nearly equals 1/137, or 1/137.035999206, to be precise. It is denoted by the Greek letter alpha – α.
 
What’s special about alpha is that it’s regarded as the best example of a pure number, one that doesn’t need units. It actually combines three of nature’s fundamental constants: The speed of light, the electric charge carried by one electron, and Planck’s constant. Appearing at the intersection of such key areas of physics as relativity (the velocity of light), electromagnetism (the electron), and quantum theory/mechanics (Plank’s constant) is what gives 1/137 its allure.
 
I am not a physicist or a mathematician, so the physics of the fine-structure constant is beyond my limited knowledge to explain. Since I can’t explain it adequately, I will just borrow this information (below) from Why the Mysterious Fine Structure Constant 137? | Evidence To Believe.
 
“One use of this curious number is to measure the interaction of charged particles like electrons with electromagnetic fields. Alpha determines how fast an excited atom can emit a photon. It also affects the details of the light emitted by atoms. Scientists have been able to observe a pattern of shifts of light coming from atoms called “fine structure” (giving the constant its name). This “fine structure” has been seen in sunlight and the light coming from other stars.
 
The constant figures in other situations, making physicists wonder why. Why does nature insist on this number? It has appeared in various calculations in physics since the 1880s, spurring numerous attempts to come up with a Grand Unified Theory that would incorporate the constant. So far no single explanation has taken hold. If you’d like to know the math behind fine structure constant, more specifically, the way you arrive at alpha is by putting the 3 constants h (Planck’s constant), c (speed of light), and e (charge of electrons) together in the equation --
 
As the units c, e, and h cancel each other out, the “pure” number of 137.035999206 is left behind. For historical reasons, the inverse of the equation is used 2πe2/hc = 1/137.035999206. If you’re wondering what is the precise value of that fraction – it’s 0.0072973525682.
 
Why is this Number so Important?
 
The fine-structure constant controls how strong chemical bonds are, how we see light , and the vast majority of the things in the world. It also controls fusion in stars, which is important as that’s how all the chemical elements are created. It also governs the energy levels of an atom formed from negatively charged electrons and a positive nucleus. When electrons jump between these energy levels, they absorb and emit light of particular frequencies. These frequencies show up as lines (dark for absorption; bright for emission) in a spectrum. When many different energy levels are involved, as they are in the spectrum of a chemically mixed star, the result is a fine, comb-like structure—hence the constant’s name.
 
The fact that α is dimensionless has led some physicists to speculate that its value has some fundamental significance. It describes a fundamental property of the universe, and the question is whether its value is just an accident of how the universe happened to be put together, or whether its value is determined by some deep principle that we have yet to discover (could this be a hint at the Creator Himself?}.
 
Scientists ask: “What is the reason for this peculiar number which appears to underpin the whole of nature?” I submit that alpha takes on the precise value it has so that this universe, the solar system we abide in, and the earth itself and the laws which govern it, can be delicately fine-tuned for life. Our life. If the value of α varied even slightly more or less, life as we know it could not exist on this planet.”
 
Remember how we said that alpha (α) or the fine-structure constant’s numerical value is approximately 0.0072973525682 ≃ 1/137.035999206. Here’s something I found in The Mysterious 137 - Bible Gematria that is very interesting and can’t be a coincidence:
 
The number is required to know how specific wavelengths of light interact in precise ways with atoms and how electromagnetic forces hold atoms together. Hence we know that this number is one of the core factors that determine the size of the atoms and, therefore, the form and structure of the universe.
 
 To calculate α, you start with the square of an electron's charge, divide it by the speed of light and Planck's constant, then multiply the whole lot by two Pi. The units of this number are coulombs, meters per second and joules per second but they cancel out, leaving a dimensionless ratio, applicable in any measurement system.
 
The inverse fine-structure constant is essentially equivalent to 1/137, although the precise figure is 137.035999206… Remarkably, it can be approximated by these elegant equations: α ≈ 1/(cos(π/137)/137), and α ≈ 4π³ + π² + π, both with a 99.999% accuracy.           
 
The close relationship between π and the fine structure constant can be seen by adding the sum of the squares of the first 7 digits of π: π = 3.141592... 3² + 1² + 4² + 1² + 5² + 9² + 2² = 137.

Britannica.com defines photosynthesis as the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured by a pigment and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds. The total number of atoms in the chlorophyll molecule, C55H72O5N4Mg, is 137 (55 + 72 + 5 + 4 + 1) = 137. All life on earth depends on this process of converting light into energy for its survival.
 
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth by His power (ul – Strong’s H193) and wisdom (hakma – Strong’s H2451). These two Hebrew words have a gematria of 37 and 73. 73 is the 37th odd number. The gematria of Genesis 1:1 is 2701, which is 37 x 73. 2701 is also the 73rd triangular number. The four-letter Hebrew word for wisdom, hakma, has a gematria of 5 + 40 + 20 + 8 = 73, and the place value of 5 + 13 +11 + 8 = 37. “The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens” (Proverbs 3:19).
 
In John 1:1, the Greek word Logos is translated as Word, which has a gematria of 373. The Word spoke the heavens and the earth into existence. The words “And God said” are used 10 (3² + 1) times in the creation account, 21 (3 x 7) total times in Genesis 1, and 30 total times in the Old Testament.
 
Genesis 1:1-4 has 39 Hebrew words. Genesis 1:4, “And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness,” has 12 Hebrew words. The word “ the light” (the Hebrew word is “ha o wr”) is the 10th word in verse 4 and is the 37th word from Genesis 1:1. This 37th word starts with the 137th letter from the beginning of Genesis 1:1. Light is a very important part of the creation process. You have to remember that this was before the Sun was created on the fourth day. The light on the first day was supplied supernaturally by God Himself. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
 
The Hebrew gematria of Genesis 1:4 is 1776. The 37th word in Genesis is “ha o wr”, the light. The Hebrew word “hayil” is used throughout the Old Testament and is translated as “strength or power.” Its gematria is 48. 37 (light) x 48 (power) = 1776, which is 2 x 888. The Greek word Jesous (Jesus) has a gematria of 888. By the Word’s (pre-incarnate Jesus) power, He brought forth light to start the creation process of life that was to follow.
 
Britannica.com describes String theory, in particle physics, as a theory that attempts to merge quantum mechanics with Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity. The name string theory comes from the modeling of subatomic particles as tiny one-dimensional “stringlike” entities rather than the more conventional approach in which they are modeled as zero-dimensional point particles.
 
The number for Pi (the symbol is π) appears in many formulae across mathematics and physics. Pi is defined as a mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, approximately equal to 3.14159……(into infinity). So far, with the help of supercomputers, pi has been calculated to 62.8 trillion digits (and still counting). It’s interesting that when you divide 22 (the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet) by 7, you get 3.14285…, which is close to pi.
 
The number Pi (3.14159…) has its own “string theory” of numbers, if you will. It has an infinite number of digits after the decimal point. With the help of supercomputers, it is now possible to explore and analyze these digits that are strung together (seemingly in a random manner) and see if there are any significant groupings of numbers. The Mysterious 137 - Bible Gematria has several examples of patterns and groupings of numbers that correlate with the gematria of some Bible verses. I highly recommend this website as it has some amazing gematria and scientific information. Below are some examples from their site.
 
The first three words in the Bible are Bereshith (In beginning), bara (created), and Elohim (God). Bereshith has a gematria value of 913. Bara’s value is 203. Elohim’s value is 86. When they are strung together, they are 91320386. The first occurrence of 91320386 in Pi is followed by the three digits 232. In the Bible's third verse, God said, “Let there be light.” The gematria value of יהי אור ("Let there be light") is 232. This numeric string of 91320386232 occurs at the 136,010,766th decimal of Pi. Coincidence? I’ll let you be the judge.
 
As I mentioned above, the Hebrew gematria of Genesis 1:1 is 2701 and the Greek gematria (Isopsephy) of John 1:1 is 3627. The first occurrence of this linked gematria, 27013627, in Pi, begins from position 62,418,439. If you add these digits (6 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 8 +4 + 3 + 9) together you get 37.
 
The Greek word for Jesus is Jesous (Χριστός), and has a value of 888. The Greek word for Christ is Christos (Χριστός), and has a value of 1480. 2701 (the gematria of Genesis 1:1) x 888 = 2,398,488. And therefore, 2 + 398 + 488 = 888. Also, 2701 x 1480 = 3.997,480. So, 3 + 997 + 480 = 1480. 
 
Another remarkable proof from the gematria of Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 is the discovery of the values of key mathematical constants to a high degree of accuracy. The calculation of transcendental numbers π and e, along with the fine structure constant, also known as alpha (α), attest to the authenticity of the text. The identical method to obtain π and e from separate creation accounts from different covenants is evidence of the oneness of the Bible, and the hand of the Creator in its compilation.
 
To find the approximate value of Pi from Genesis 1:1, you take the total letters (28) x the product of the Hebrew gematria letters and divide that amount by the total words (7) x the product of the gematria words. The equation is: π =
 
(28*2*200*1*300*10*400*2*200*1*1*30*5*10*40*1*400*5*300*40*10*40*6*1*400*5*1*200*90) / (7*913*203*86*401*395*407*296) = 3.14155E+17. Compare this number with the exact number for Pi of 3.14159…. Amazing!
 
To find the approximate value of e from John 1:1, you do basically the same thing as above only with the Greek gematria of John 1:1. It would equate to this: 4.38685E+77 / 1.61381E+37 = 2.71831E+40. Compare this with the exact number for e of 2.71828… Amazing!
 
To find alpha or the fine constant structure from the Bible, you link together the total Hebrew gematria values of Genesis 1:1 (2701) and the Greek values of John 1:1 (3627) and square them, which is 270136272, which = 7.29736E+14. Compare this with the number for alpha of 7.29735… Truly amazing! The words of the first verses in the Books of Genesis and John may have been written by Moses (in Hebrew) and John (in Greek), but is there any doubt that the Holy Spirit was influencing their exact words, so the gematria numbers would align as they do, to prove the word of God is true and undisputable? God is the Great Designer/Mathematician of the eons!
 
I have only scratched the surface with this study. I recommend you check out the linked articles/websites I have mentioned if you can withstand the information without your head exploding. However, there is one more matter regarding the number 137 that I will leave you with. In a previous article, Going Forth of the Word to Return and Build Jerusalem :: By Randy Nettles - Rapture Ready, I presented my case for a 444 BC date for when the commandment or word was given to Nehemiah to go and build the city and walls of Jerusalem. In my opinion, this is the terminus a quo (start) for Daniel’s 70 weeks (sevens) prophecy in Daniel 9:24-27.
 
With this in mind, let’s examine the Hebrew gematria of some keywords in Daniel 9:25. “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.” The Hebrew word for “going forth” (KJV) is מוֹצָא or “mosa” (Strong’s H4161) and has a gematria value of 137. The Hebrew word for “word”(or matter) is דָּבָר or “dabar” (Strong’s H1697) and has a gematria value of 206. As I said in the article, dabar (words) matters, and therefore, numbers too.
 
It’s interesting that in my article, Sevens (rev310.net), I show where the start of Daniel’s 70 sevens prophecy begins in the 137th Shemitah year since the children of Israel entered the Promised Land. So, in other words, in 444 BC, the going forth (mosa -gematria of 137) of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem occurred in the 137th Shemitah year.   
 
The terminus ad quem (end) of the 69th seven (Shemitah years) of Daniel 9:25 occurred in 33 AD, which I have listed in my article as in the 205th Shemitah year. If Jesus would have been accepted as king of Israel on Nisan 10, 33 AD, the 70th seven would have started and seven years later the terminus ad quem would have been in the 206th Shemitah year. That would have been 70 sevens since the word (dabar – gematria of 206) went forth from the king of Persia to rebuild Jerusalem. Instead, the last seven years of Daniel’s prophecy have been on hold for 1990 years so far.
 
The same Hebrew word for “going forth, ”mosa” (gematria of 137), is found in Hosea 6:3. “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. Jesus (as represented symbolically with the number 33) came to us the first time as the latter rain (during the spring season), He will return (go forth) to the earth the second time as the former rain (during the fall season). Isn’t it interesting that 137 is the 33rd prime number? My, my, so many coincidences!
 
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
 
 
The Universe, and God’s word through biblical numerology and gematria all declare the number of God is 137.

Recently I wrote an article titled ”Are You Hungry Yet?” about the many evils setting the stage for fulfillment of prophecy—the signals of the coming Apocalypse, Tribulation, etc.
 
I hoped that article would stimulate the believer’s spiritual appetite for the moment we all sit down together at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. I hope it made you look forward to that magnificent banquet with great anticipation, as I do.
 
Our appearance before our Lord and Savior in the clouds of glory could be in the very next moment, and we will then find ourselves before the bema—the judgment seat of Christ. With the rewards presented by Christ for the work we did in His holy name while we lived on earth, we will then accompany our Bridegroom and Lord of all lords in an exhilarating mission. We’ll go with Him to put an end to Armageddon and the wickedness that will have, by that time, completely engulfed planet Earth.
 
Then we’ll take part in the greatest of all banquets on a supernaturally refurbished planet. We will sit down at the Marriage Supper in honor of Jesus Christ, the Son of God who died for us and resurrected so that we could be redeemed from sin and become the Heavenly Father’s intimate family for eternity.
 
This great promise from God’s Word is contrasted by what will first take place. The great famine that is already in view will be just the opposite of the blessed Marriage Supper that will satisfy every need and satiate every hunger forever.
 
All people who turn their backs on God and his righteous Rx for living will experience famine. This is a principle understood through God’s archetype people/nation, Israel. The following describes what happens to people who become anti-God in comportment and instead go their own way, adhering to doing what is right in their own eyes.
 
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again. (Amos 8:11–14)
 
The prophecy above did indeed take place on God’s chosen people. They have refused to hear God’s Word and have suffered—to this day—a spiritual famine. We know they suffered a literal famine in the Holocaust through starvation and every sort of atrocity, as they are prophetically scheduled to again suffer during that last seven years before Christ’s return. They have a disease that has blinded them to their true Messiah and His love for them. This we see in Romans chapter 11.
 
But it isn’t only a spiritual famine that’s coming for those who reject God’s call and prescription for life on His planet. There is coming a famine of the literal sort. And, according to Jesus’ own Words, it will be the worst of famines—the worst time in all of human history. The hunger it will produce will be deadly, but that will be only part of the Tribulation that God-rejecters will suffer.
 
That hunger is symbolically described as the third horseman and his black steed found in Revelation chapter 6.
 
The spiritual famine is already underway. Dr. David Jeremiah reported in his morning broadcast the other day that 52 percent of evangelical Christians no longer believe the Bible is inerrant. So, it is not hard to extrapolate from that astonishing statistic the degree to which anti-Bible attacks are occurring and will soon be underway by the unbelieving world.
 
As Dr. Jeremiah said, questioning spiritual authority is in vogue; heritage is being lost. He said Mark Twain, even in his day, said: “The Bible is a book praised, but rarely read.”
 
So, mankind is well down the broad way of biblical famine that leads to hunger, starvation, and, ultimately, eternal separation from the Creator-God who has moved Heaven and Hell to bring the only truth that can provide sustenance that assures eternal life.
 
Again, the best proof I can think of that shows specifically where the world is at present in that regard is this matter of Pride month.
 
The entire world is caught up at the moment—in June, 2023—in activity that can only be described as like in the days of Lot. Those with the loudest media voices declare through the transsexual and homosexual rants that God doesn’t have the right to declare the gender or deportment of His human creation.
 
This nation is guilty to the maximum extent in this wickedness. That is, America is, as I see it, at the very heart of this Sodom-like festival on a global scale. America is leading the way in pride fully showing out in total anti-God, back-turning as never before.
 
Again, David Jeremiah reminded that spiritual appetite for God’s Word has been greatly damaged on this fallen sphere. Mankind has thus lost the moral compass meant to keep humanity from starvation, both spiritual and literal.
 
The Bible is now being called hate speech by even governmental auspices and court systems here in the United States. Atheists now have stickers they place on Bibles in hotels and other places that proclaim: “Caution, this book is hazardous to your health.”
 
But God is not mocked, as Paul proclaims.
 
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:7–8)
 
The horsemen of the Apocalypse are about to mount their terrifying steeds. They will go forth to put an end to the mockery of the God of Heaven and His Beloved Son Jesus Christ.
 
You don’t want to be a part of this increasing spiritual famine or the coming literal famine the black horse of Revelation chapter 6 will bring. Here is how to be kept from that horrendous time of judgment and wrath and instead sit down at the Marriage Supper to be filled with God’s righteousness and be within God’s family forever:
 
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

Our world is becoming a creepier place with each passing day. Most of us just want to live our lives in peace without excessive governmental interference, but unfortunately the control freaks that are running things just can’t help themselves. Ultimately, they aren’t going to be happy until they are able to watch, track, monitor and control virtually everything that we write, say and do. This is one of the big reasons why they are gearing up to introduce “central bank digital currencies” all over the western world. Such digital currencies will make it much easier for them to control us financially. And a new tool that was just introduced by the UN will make it much easier for them to control what we write on the Internet…
 
The iVerify System Is Here
 
The UN’s new fact-checking system is going to be a game changer, but so far the mainstream media is being really quiet about it.
 
Perhaps that is because they don’t want millions of us to object to this sort of tyranny.
 
The UN developed iVerify in conjunction with big tech companies and Soros-funded organizations, and it will be used to crack down on “disinformation” and “hate speech” all over the globe…
 
The United Nations has unveiled an “automated” fact-checking service to counter so-called disinformation and hate speech on the internet in a project partnered with Big-Tech and Soros-funded organizations.
 
In response to what they brand as “online information pollution”, which they claim is a “global challenge”, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has launched its iVerify platform to counter alleged disinformation and hate speech online.
 
The global body’s “automated fact-checking tool”, was developed in partnership with the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC), Facebook and Google-funded fact checker Meedan, the Meta-owned CrowdTangle, and the Soros-funded International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN).
 
Needless to say, this tool will not be used to crack down on points of view that Big Tech and George Soros agree with.
 
Instead, it will be used to crack down on those that choose to be independent thinkers, and that should greatly alarm all of us.
 
Of course iVerify is not the only very strange development that has been in the news in recent days…
 
“Hail The Size Of Softballs”
 
On June 14th, some areas of Arkansas were absolutely pounded by “softball-sized hail”…
 
Parts of Arkansas were affected by large hail as severe thunderstorms moved through the region on Wednesday, June 14.
 
Video recorded by Lailah Spearman from her porch in Royal, Arkansas, shows large hailstones littering her front yard as loud banging can be heard.
 
Spearman told Storyful that she was in her living room when the hail started. “It sounded like bombs going off, and we looked outside and saw huge softball-sized hail,” she said.
 
And it turns out that some parts of northern Texas were also hit by “hail as large as softballs”…
 
Severe storms brought large hail, caused power outages, and delayed flights in North Texas. Some people reported hail as large as softballs.
 
In the old days, it was very rare for this sort of thing to happen.
 
But now it is no big deal because it happens all the time.
 
When hail gets this big, it can do some really serious damage.
 
We were warned that this was coming.
 
Now it is here.
 
“Record High Temps Accompany Record Drought Swept South”
 
Unfortunately, all of that hail did little to ease the drought conditions in the middle of the nation.
 
Extremely hot temperatures quickly returned, and in some areas the heat index actually exceeded 120 degrees…
 
Parts of Texas and southern Louisiana are feeling like a steam room amid a dangerous heat wave that’s set to last more than a week. Blistering heat and stifling humidity have already combined to push the heat index above 120 degrees in spots, posing a significant danger to vulnerable populations and those without adequate access to cooler environments.
 
The Lone Star State broke heat records on Thursday and Friday, and many more are expected to fall over the coming days.

Infrastructure in the United States has been at a breaking point for decades. The recent collapse of an overpass on the I-95 interstate in Philadelphia created a traffic nightmare for one of the country’s busiest highways and shined a light on America’s ongoing infrastructure problems.

“A Man Getting Pregnant”
 
The last item that I want to mention today is a very controversial trend in motherhood.
 
The following comes from a recent NPR article that profiled a 37-year-old transgender man that just got pregnant…
 
Kayden Coleman, 37, was surprised to learn he was pregnant.
 
In 2013, he had just had top surgery — a double mastectomy — and had temporarily stopped taking hormones for the procedure. Coleman, who is transgender, said doctors had told him he couldn’t get pregnant. A few years later, assuming that he’d been taking hormones long enough to avoid another pregnancy, he found he was expecting again.
 
Today, he is raising two young daughters.

The pace of change in our society has accelerated to an absolutely blistering pace, and things are only going to get wilder in the years ahead.

Scary Censorship Logic Spreading Worldwide - 'Restricting Freedom' To Save It – Jonathan Turley - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=6164
 
The Irish Green Party followed many on the left around the world, including our own Democratic Party, this week and came out for censorship and speech controls. Indeed, the party went full Orwellian as its chairwoman Pauline O'Reilly called for "restricting freedom" to protect it.
 
O'Reilly's comments are part of the introduction of the Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Bill 2022. We previously discussed this massive assault on free speech.
 
The legislation that would criminalize "incitement to violence or hatred against" people with "protected characteristics," as well as "condoning, denying or grossly trivialising genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes against peace."
 
Limiting free speech has become an article of faith for many on the left. I have written about my distress (as someone who grew up in a liberal, politically active Democratic family in Chicago) in watching the abandonment of free speech values by the party.
 
Democratic leaders now uniformly call for censorship and speech regulations. President Biden even charged that companies who refused to censor opposing views on social media were "killing people." Others have denounced free speech as "a white man's obsession."
 
The anti-free speech movement has become openly Orwellian in claiming to protect freedom by limiting freedom. It also employs using terms like disinformation, misinformation, and malinformation to obscure their effort to silence those with opposing views. Rather than use "censorship," they refer to "content moderation."
 
That effort was on full display this week in Ireland with this anti-free speech legislation.
 
Speaking before the Irish Senate this week, Green Party chairwoman Pauline O'Reilly declared "when one thinks about it, all law and all legislation is about the restriction of freedom. This is exactly what we are doing here. We are restricting freedom but we are doing it for the common good."
 
It is the same message of New York democrats calling for limiting speech as a way of protecting democracy. Indeed, former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich has declared free speech is "tyranny."
 
O'Reilly assured citizens that giving up freedom was nothing new or threatening:"Throughout our Constitution one can see that while one has rights they are restricted for the common good. Everything needs to be balanced."
 
What is particularly chilling is how low the threshold is for denying free speech, according to O'Reilly. It now appears that "deep discomfort" is enough:
 
"If a person's views on other people's identities make their lives unsafe and insecure, and cause them such deep discomfort that they cannot live in peace, our job as legislators is to restrict those freedoms for the common good."
 
What is interesting is that O'Reilly admits that there is nothing new about hateful views but it is time to clear out such voices: "Social media has fuelled hatred but it has also put on display for all of us the dirty, filthy, underbelly of hatred in Irish society. That hatred has always existed." Of course, she and the majority will determine what views create "deep discomfort."
 
The Irish legislation is likely to be replicated around the world if the free speech community cannot hold the line against the anti-free speech movement. It is part of an unrelenting movement in Europe, particularly by the European Union, to rollback Western free speech values that once defined countries.
 
We have been discussing efforts by figures like Hillary Clinton to enlist European countries to force Twitter to restore censorship rules. Unable to rely on corporate censorship or convince users to embrace censorship, Clinton and others are resorting to good old-fashioned state censorship, even asking other countries to censor the speech of American citizens.
 
Ireland now stands on the precipice of freedom. The embrace of such laws by the Irish is crushingly ironic. Frank Ryan, who fought against the treaty, spoke for many radicals in declaring "as long as we have fists and boots, there will be no free speech for traitors." Those anti-Treaty forces rejected the views of free speech that long defined Western nations. Now, Ireland is declaring "no free speech for haters" and assumes the authority to define who are haters and who are not.
 
Irelands actions follow in the footsteps of proposals by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who recently announced he wants to see a "Global Digital Compact," (GDC) to push sweeping international laws against "hate & lies" online.
 
"The proliferation of hate & lies in the digital space is causing grave global harm. This clear & present global threat demands clear and coordinated global action. We don't have a moment to lose," he wrote in a tweet announcing the compact.
 
The UN policy brief, which was released on June 12, called for handing control of the internet to international bodies, as part of the UN's 2030 Agenda.
 
Guterres also referred to another UN brief, "Information and Integrity on Digital Platforms" (IIDP), which he said will be used as a guide to coordinate global efforts against "hate."
 
The IIDP warned about what it calls, the "darker side of the digital ecosystem," which could enable "the rapid spread of lies and hate, causing real harm on a global scale."
 
Guterres said that the internet is being misused to deny science and spread disinformation and hate to billions of people, in a veiled reference to vaccine skeptics and growing populist movements.
 
The GDC blamed "hate speech" and "disinformation," on malicious hackers, criminal activity, authoritarian state controls, and "predatory business models," calling them "serious risks to human rights."
 
It believes that the only solution is to develop "robust accountability criteria and standards for digital platforms and users to address disinformation, hate speech, and other harmful online content."
 
IIDP expanded on that point by claiming that "social media-enabled hate speech and disinformation can lead to violence and death. The ability to disseminate large-scale disinformation to undermine scientifically established facts poses an existential risk to humanity."
 
However, the writers of the UN report admitted that "the distinction between mis- and disinformation can be subtle and difficult to determine," without providing any further details.
 
These statements raised alarm for those concerned with freedom of speech and in countries that have long traditions of free debate and expression.
 
Some countries with state-controlled media, like communist China, could utilize the international body's panel on online censorship to crush overseas opposition to its views and policies worldwide.
 
The UN policy brief condemned any criticism of international climate-change policy, which the international body sees as a settled science.
 
Skeptics of green policy were accused of being guilty of "greenwashing," which was defined as "misleading the public into believing that a company or entity is doing more to protect the environment, and less to harm it, than it is."
 
The report also called for banning online "disinformation" during key elections, where "the spread of mis- and disinformation can undermine public trust in electoral institutions and the electoral process itself."
 
This proposal would definitely interfere with the internal politics of sovereign states, at a time when election disputes are still being hotly debated.
 
The UN further proposed a digital code of conduct, which laid out some of the proposed rules, but provided little detail on how they would be enforced or how violators would be judged.
 
The code of conduct only suggested that member states "ensure that responses to mis- and disinformation and hate speech are consistent with international law, including international human rights law, and are not misused to block any legitimate expression of views of opinion."
 
The paper also called on major tech companies to "invest in human and artificial intelligence content moderation systems," which could be programmed to block any views in opposition to the globalist agenda.
 
"Digital platforms should move away from business models that prioritize engagement above human rights, privacy, and safety," it added.
 
"From health and gender equality to peace, justice, education, and climate action, measures that limit the impact of mis- and disinformation and hate speech will boost efforts to achieve a sustainable future and leave no one behind," the report concluded.
 
The Biden administration previously came under fire for trying to start the now-defunct Disinformation Governance Board under the Department of Homeland Security. Many Republicans argued such an initiative would act as a Ministry of Truth in a dystopian society by suppressing dissent under the guise of stopping misinformation.
 
Don't be surprised if some form of this ugly beast gets resurrected after Former President Barack Obama suggested in a new interview the development of "digital fingerprints" to combat misinformation and distinguish between true and misleading news for consumers.
 
If the globalists have their way, it will only be a matter of time until what you can say online and how you access information will be state controlled.

Students at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington, Ma., tore down Pride celebration signs and chanted “U-S-A are my pronouns, wearing red, white and blue clothes and face paint instead of the “Spirit Day” rainbow colors. Now the kids are being labeled homophobic and intolerant. School Principal Cari Perchase condemned the anti-Pride Day demonstration, writing in a letter to parents, “I fully respect that our diverse community has diverse opinions and beliefs. I also respect individuals’ right to express their opinions through clothing choices and freedom of speech. When one individual or group of individuals’ beliefs and actions result in the demeaning of another individual or group, it is completely unacceptable.”
 
Perchase is saying free speech is OK so long as you don’t disagree with homosexuality. Yet, Perchase allowed the middle school’s “student-led LGBTQ+ and allies “Spectrum Club” to set up a “spirt day” where rainbow banners, and posters saying “Happy Pride Month” and “Why it’s not ok to say “That’s so gay’.” They also were handing out rainbow stickers. Students and faculty were asked to wear rainbow colors for the day. Why on earth would a middle school allow such a demonstration of advocacy for a sexual orientation? Talk about inappropriate. Talk about intolerant of those who used the “Spirt Day” to celebrate their pride in America. Talk about grooming minor children for sexual purposes. This is what is “completely unacceptable” to use the principal’s words.”
 
Perchase continued, “I am truly sorry that a day meant for you to celebrate your identity turned into a day of intolerance. Schools are supposed to be a safe place for ALL students and faculty. Some community members’ actions created an unsafe environment for many of our students, caregivers, and faculty.” Unsafe? How unsafe does Perchase think it makes normal kids feel with all this Pride bullying going on? WCVB Boston reported that a parent of one of the middle schoolers, Christine Steiner, said that her daughter felt coerced to participate in the Pride event. She said her daughter was offended by a poster in the school that said “What is straight? A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it’s curved like a road through the mountains.” Safe place? For who? Coercion? We must celebrate even if we disagree.
 
The Maine Wire reported Nancy Bonassera, co-chair of the Burlington Equity Coalition, issued a statement: “Students were invited to show their pride and wear rainbow clothing in celebration of Pride month. On that same day there was a counter-demonstration in response to what should have been a day to celebrate, where students wore red, white and blue clothing, chanted ‘my pronouns are U.S.A.,’ and destroyed rainbow decorations at the school. These displays of intolerance and homophobia are unacceptable and impact the whole community. We call upon the school administration to address and provide consequences for the students who participated in the counter-protest.”
 
In order to have a counter demonstration or a counter protest, there needs to first be a demonstration or a protest. By their own words, these Pride advocators are telling everyone what they were trying to force upon minor students. And this is what happens to people, young and old, who stand against these Pride Month sexual grooming sessions, called “celebrations.” Equality under the law does not mean forced acceptance. 2 Corinthians 6:14 asks, “what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what partnership has light with darkness?” The ones who should face consequences are the adults who allowed such a “Pride” celebration to take place in the school. Nevertheless, surely they will have their reward.

J. Robert Oppenheimer, a brilliant physicist, was head of the Los Alamos Laboratory, which developed the atomic bomb. He also directed the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey.
 
Yet the year before he died, he said this about his accomplishments: “They leave on the tongue only the taste of ashes.”
 
We celebrate our dramatic advances in science and technology, and they are breathtaking to say the least. We live in a technologically advanced age, and we truly have become a global village. Still, it seems that all this technology has numbed our souls a little bit more. That’s because we have pursued knowledge without God.
 
Solomon came to the same conclusion. He wrote, “So I set out to learn everything from wisdom to madness and folly. But I learned firsthand that pursuing all this is like chasing the wind. The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow” (Ecclesiastes 1:17–18 NLT).
 
If intellectualism alone were the key to purpose and fulfillment, then our college campuses would be bastions of peace and purpose. However, on the campuses of secular universities today we can find the most bizarre, aberrant ideas available. We also can see the emptiness of academic pursuit without God.
 
I would even say this lack of belief in God, which comes from many of our colleges and universities, has led to the moral breakdown in our country today. Now our young people are taught they are not created in the image of God. And then we’re surprised when people who believe they have evolved from animals go out and act like them.
 
Of course, the pursuit of knowledge and a good education is noble and valuable. But if in that pursuit we leave God out, then it indeed will be an empty one.
