Back in my early Sunday school days, we sang The B-I-B-L-E. I still remember jumping to my feet at the words “I stand alone on the Word of God, the B-I-B-L-E.” Little did I know at the time that the words to this song would characterize my ministry so many decades later. If you were to ask me why I believe what I do about Jesus’ imminent appearing and His future reign over a gloriously restored Israel, I would reply that the words of Scripture are my source of confidence. I stand on the promises of God’s Word. I love how the words of Psalm 119:105 speak to the light that comes from Scripture. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. The Bible guides us through life; it lights our way. We rely on its promises for our hope of eternal life. Its words give us hope in perilous times and comfort us amid all our affliction. The Reformers of five hundred years ago summarized the importance of sound Bible interpretation with two principles: Sola Scriptura and Scripture interprets Scripture. Although the Reformers remained steadfast in their rejection of a literal millennium (amillennialism), which John described in Revelation 20:1-10, those two principles later led to the revival of premillennialism as well as to the emergence of teaching in support of a pretribulation Rapture. This happened as students of God’s Word allowed Scripture to speak for itself and did not retrofit the biblical text with meanings foreign to the original intent of the author. They adhered to Sola Scriptura. Though the modern-day scoffers will surely say otherwise, they have ceased allowing God’s Word to be their sole light when it comes biblical prophecy. It’s been the casting aside of sola Scriptura as well as the principle of Scripture interprets Scripture that has directly led to the reemergence of amillennialism and the rejection of teaching related to the Rapture. Rather than allow God’s Word to illumine their way, they have lit their own fires and allowed their own light to guide them. What are the dangers of interpreting Bible prophecy with one’s own light? AN UNWILLINGNESS TO INTERPRET SCRIPTURE BY THE LIGHT IT PROVIDES In Isaiah 50:10-11, we find these insightful words: Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who equip yourselves with burning torches! Walk by the light of your fire, and by the torches that you have kindled! This you have from my hand: you shall lie down in torment. I recognize that the context of Isaiah 50 refers to those who dismiss the Lord and all of His ways. Rather than trust the Lord and walk by the light of His revealed Word, including what came through the prophets of their day, the ancient Israelites used the light of their own fires, or torches, to illuminate their paths. However, I believe we can apply the words of this text to those who dismiss the words of Scripture regarding the future restoration of Israel and Jesus’ imminent appearing. When it comes to Bible prophecy, many pastors and teachers obscure the original intent of authors at the time God inspired them. Instead, they light “the torch” of human wisdom and allow that to illuminate their way through the prophetic texts. They walk by the light that they themselves have kindled. Over the past several decades, I have heard or read a wide variety of arguments as to why people follow the path of their own fires when interpreting the prophetic texts of God’s Word. They all have three things in common:
Pride in their personal paradigm of reinterpreting prophecy keeps them from submitting their ideas to the words of Scripture. Those who light their own way through the prophetic texts of the Bible exhibit an unwillingness to interpret Scripture by the light it provides. I have reached the conclusion that the lit torch of allegorical interpretation is the only way that one can arrive at the destination of amillennialism because it retrofits the words scriptural prophecy with meanings foreign to the authors at that time they wrote. 2. THE ALLOWING OF ALLEGORY TO TRUMP THE CLEAR MEANING OF WORDS The meaning of the words of Scripture matter greatly when we look at the promises regarding our salvation and hope of eternal life in heaven. Why shouldn’t that be the same for the prophetic texts of the Bible? After I graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary in 1978, I worked as a language specialist for the Lockman Foundation on their New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. For an entire year, I worked with the Hebrew and Aramaic text of the Old Testament identifying which words in the original matched up with their English counterpart in the concordance. I also worked with the Greek text of the New Testament toward the end of my time with the Foundation. Spending eight hours a day for a year in original text of the Old Testament gave me a deep appreciation and love for the words that God inspired its human authors to use. Over the years, I have forgotten a lot about the Hebrew language, but the beauty of how the Lord put together all the words of Scripture has remained with me. In this way, my experience at the Lockman Foundation safeguarded me against accepting allegorical interpretations of prophecy. I cannot look at the words that God inspired and say they have different meanings than what I see on the page. I cannot accept allegorical interpretations. The words of Scripture do matter. When God says that His covenant of Land with the Patriarchs is an “everlasting covenant” (Psalm 105:8-11), you can be confident that promise doesn’t have an end date. It’s still in effect today! The land belongs to the descendants of Jacob and someday they will fully possess all the territory that God promised to them. Count on it. When the Lord says that the Messiah will someday sit on the “throne of David” (Isaiah 9:6-7; Luke 1:32), you can take those words to the bank. Jesus will most certainly rule for a thousand years over the nations of the world seated on the “throne of David” in Jerusalem. Don’t let anyone mislead you in regard to Christ’s future millennial reign. The New Testament affirms that the Lord’s inspiration of prophecy applies to the very words of the text. Notice the words of the apostle in 2 Peter 1:20-21: “. . . knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” Just as the prophets of old did not speak from their own understanding, in the same manner we must not apply our own private “interpretations” to what they wrote; we must let the words speak for themselves. We dare not light the fires of our own human understanding, but trust the path that the Lord illuminates. The Greek word for “spoke” in verse 21 is laleo. According to Trench in in his book Synonyms of the New Testament, the “prominent notion” of this verb is “the fact of uttering articulated speech. . . it is the words uttered, and that these correspond to reasonable thoughts . . . .”[i] Biblical prophets, in both the Old and New Testament, expressed objective truths in words as God moved them through the Holy Spirit (see 2 Tim. 3:16; Proverbs 2:6). The biblical prophets did not speak in riddles or symbols that only the wise torchbearers among us can interpret for us. No, they spoke God-breathed words that communicated objective facts regarding our future as well as the restoration of Israel. The Lord’s instructions to Jeremiah confirm this emphasis on the place of words in conveying clear and objective realities: “Then the LORD put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the LORD said to me, ‘Behold, I have put my words in your mouth’” (Jer. 1:9). My emphasis We also see the importance of words in Proverbs 8:8-9, which exalts the words of the Lord who is the personification of wisdom: All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them. They are all plain to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge. (My emphasis) Trust the words that you see on the pages of God’s Word. Do not allow those who walk through its prophetic texts with their own fires tell you that the words you see on the page do not communicate what they appear to mean. Do not allow allegorical interpretations to trump the clear meaning of words on the pages on the Bible. 3. BIBLICAL TRUTH BECOMES SUBJECT TO THE LIGHT THAT OTHERS BRING TO THE TEXT Those who walk by the fires that they themselves kindle function as arbiters, or judges, of what’s allegory and what’s literal. In other words, the words in the prophetic sections of God’s Word becomes subject to the light that these torchbearers bring to the text. In Revelation 20, for example, the amillennialists tell us that verses 1-10 are allegory; there is no literal thousand-year reign of Jesus before the eternal state. But what about the verses that follow? Does that also mean that the “white throne” judgment in verses 11-15 is also symbolical and not real? What about the precious promises of 21:4? What about the New Jerusalem that the apostle John wrote about in Revelation 21? Do you see the problem? Once someone begins dividing Scripture on the basis of what’s allegory and what’s literal, it becomes a task based solely on human wisdom, the torch in the interpreter’s hand. The end result is that biblical truth regarding the future becomes subject to the whims of the light that the torchbearers bring to the text. They do not let God’s Word speak for itself nor co they allow the the clear words of other passages to shine upon their misguided interpretations. FOLLOW THE LAMP OF GOD’S WORD Please, please let God’s Word speak for itself rather than rely upon human wisdom to reinterpret its meanings. Follow the lamp of God’s Word as we read in Psalm 119:105: Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. There’s no better light than God’s Word for what lies ahead in this troubled world during these perilous times. There’s great comfort and tremendous encouragement in knowing that we can jump to our feet and loudly sing, “I stand alone on the Word of God, the B-I-B-L-E.” Colossians 1:4 says, “When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” When Jesus appears, we will “appear with Him in glory.” We do not stay on earth; we will go to be where He’s at in heaven just as He promised us in John 14:2-3. Our destination at the time of the Rapture is heaven, or glory. It’s as simple as taking the Lord at His Word and believing His promises. Trust the words of Scripture, not the human wisdom of torchbearers seeking to lead you astray from your hope in Jesus’ imminent appearing. Maranatha!! No previous generation has experienced the number, frequency, and intensity of signals so similar to things prophesied to be witnessed by the generation alive at the consummation of human history. Daniel’s last-days’ floodgate indeed seems now open and the foretold torrent of evil seems to be deluging the planet, while the prophet’s words in Daniel 12 resound hourly. Knowledge now increases in geometric progression. With the advent of the Internet and other communication technologies, that pace continues to increase at a rate impossible to comprehend or harness. We run to and fro at breakneck speed. We do so literally through travel that enables us to cover millions of miles of space in just a matter of days. We do so electronically, our communications running like lightning in a fraction of a second to every point on earth-and even to distant worlds. Jesus’ words about the signs of the times just before His return at the time of Armageddon are becoming reality before our eyes as we move through our daily lives. False christs, false prophets, wars and rumors of wars, and all the other signals our Lord said will be happening concurrently in birth-pang fashion convulse our world with continuing regularity.
The nations of prophecy appear ready to play out the final, violent scenes of this Earth Age. Mankind grows worse and worse, just as the Apostle Paul prophesied. Perilous times are here as the fierce, heady, high-minded lovers of pleasure more and more dominate societies and cultures. Current ecumenical movements to bring all religious systems together into one configuration prove Paul’s prediction that end-time man will have a “form of godliness, but [deny] the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5). Human intellect continues to produce technology that Antichrist will no doubt use to subdue, control, and ultimately force all people to worship him or be killed. Last-Days Deluge No matter which way we look on earth’s horizon, we see thunderheads of the approaching end-time storm. Despite rosy predictions by politicians, scientists, religionists, and philosophers that earth’s Golden Age lies just over the next hill or just around the next bend, we hear rumblings and see the lightning that signal ominous things to come. While it is true that an infinitely magnificent golden future lies just beyond earth’s stormy horizon, such a future will not be produced by fallen mankind, but by Jesus Christ upon His return to put down satanic rebellion and establish His Kingdom. No matter what the people of the World Economic Forum or any of the New World Order builders believe, human beings will never produce Heaven on earth. A brief examination of the direction the humanistic flood is sweeping this generation documents that we are gushing down a sin-darkened ravine toward apocalypse. Wars and Rumors of Wars War has been a continuing plague within human interaction since the day Cain slew Abel. Rumors of wars are always with us, because, as James wrote, “From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?” (James 4: 1). The world’s concept of peace is never true peace, but merely a lull between episodes of warfare. When so-called peace is enforced, threats of wars and murmurings of hostilities bubble just below the surface of civility. Jesus, in His Olivet Discourse on final prophecies, however, was talking about warfare that will come with greater frequency and ferocity the closer the end of this earth age comes. Wars, followed by rumors of wars, will come much like contractions increase for a woman who is about to give birth. We do not have to go back very far in the historical record to document that we live in an age of such convulsive activity. Wars on a global scale are the ultimate manifestations of man’s fallen nature, which cannot find peace apart from Christ’s atonement. Natural man harbors violence capable of producing great destruction. One-on-one violence, families warring against each other, gang warfare in our cities, ethnic group against ethnic group—all these confirm that ours is a generation witnessing one of the key final prophecies foretold by Jesus Christ. The frightening fact that mankind now possesses, through nuclear weaponry, the capability to destroy all life on earth is proof that God’s prophetic Word is truth (see Mark 13:20). We are currently witnessing the floodgate of Daniel’s prophecy being opened as the book that the prophet was long ago told to “shut up” until “the end” is seemingly now wide open. This generation watches while peace talks between Israel and her hate-filled enemies are in the news hourly. At the center of those talks is pressure by the nations making up the New World Order efforts that demand Israel give up God’s land for a promised peace. But it is a demand that, when met, will bring destruction, according to Joel 3:2. The Lord will not abide this taking place without great, catastrophic response. He will bring all nations of the world to the killing field called Armageddon. All this means that Jesus Christ is, perhaps very soon, going to step out upon the clouds of glory and shout with the voice of the archangel and the trump of God, calling all believers to Himself. You don’t want to be left behind on this judgment-bound planet when He takes believers out of harm’s way. Here is how to be part of that blessed rescue: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. As Statista's Katharina Buchholz details below, central bank digital currencies are controlled by governments like traditional currencies are and therefore represent the polar opposite of the idea of decentralized, non-traceable bitcoins. Several small nations have launched central bank digital currencies, and several more populous countries are getting ready to jump aboard a different crypto hype train. According to the Central Bank Digital Currency Tracker by Atlantic Council, CBDCs have launched in several Caribbean nations such as the Bahamas, Grenada, Dominica and Saint Lucia. The Sand Dollar of the Bahamas was the first central bank digital currency of the world upon its launch in 2019 and cleared the way for a rapid adoption around the region's small nations. The Chinese digital Yuan pilot made headlines in April 2019, but the project has not moved on since. Like Nigeria, China has a solid digital and mobile payment infrastructure. Large parts of the two countries' populations leapfrogged card payments and went straight from cash to digital payment options, which became hugely popular - may they be app or text-based. In developing countries, central banks also consider the potential of digital currencies reaching the unbanked. Another reason for some governments to champion official digital currencies is the collection of data. Ubiquitous digital payments and tight government surveillance have led to a plethora of payment data already available to Chinese administrators. This knowledge on how people spend money will only grow with the implementation of the digital Yuan, even though the country's central bank has said it will limit traceability and create what it calls "controllable anonymity." With the launch of the digital currency, every Yuan in circulation will either exist as physical or as digital currency. Analysts expect the Chinese government to raise the amount of digital currency in the future, thereby lowering the amount of physical currency available in the market. Some even think China plans to make all Yuan digital at one point. Other countries which are in a CBDC pilot phase include Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. It is unclear, however, which program could see a proper launch next. Concrete plans to launch a CBDC were recorded by the source in Canada, Australia, Brazil and India, among others. The digital Euro is also in its development phase, with a pilot scheduled for 2023 in participating nations. As Alt-Market's Brandon Smith detailed previously, with the introduction of CBDCs in the wake of a stagflationary crash, the central banks could call for a new global network of currencies to "stop such a crisis from ever happening again." The BIS and the IMF will be ready and waiting in the wings with the SDR basket, or something very similar. The bankers will remove all physical money over a short period of time and a global digital system will take over. All privacy in trade will be gone, except for those people involved in barter, black markets and commodities. The advent of CBDCs could also mean that money and economic participation will become privileges, not rights. Digital trade could be tied to a social credit system, much like the one that exists in communist China. Want access to your checking and savings accounts? Better not say anything critical of the establishment, or you could be reported by a neighbor or stranger by cell phone app and have your money disappear in seconds. The onus will then be on you to prove that you are "loyal" and get access back. You are guilty until proven innocent. Maybe you don't want to take the next untested mRNA vaccine for the next dubious pandemic threat? You'll have little choice if your ability to function economically is controlled digitally. This is the world we are facing if we allow central banks to fully digitize money and trade. It is a nightmare environment of complete authoritarianism. The public at large is mostly unaware of the incredible danger inherent in CBDCs and they must be educated before the current crisis grows so large that they can no longer focus on anything other than their own problems. Are Globalists Using Monkeypox to Stir Up Another Exaggerated and Planned Crisis? – HD Staff - https://harbingersdaily.com/are-globalists-using-monkeypox-to-stir-up-another-exaggerated-and-planned-crisis/ The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has again become the subject of criticism after declaring monkeypox to be a “public health emergency of international concern” against the recommendation of the WHO’s special advisory committee. Ghebreyesus initially had claimed that Saturday’s announcement followed an inability of the committee to reach a consensus in their meeting, prompting him to make the final decision on a tied vote. After the alert was issued, the WHO Director-General admitted that a majority, nine out of fifteen, experts in the committee did not believe that the monkeypox outbreak warranted an international health emergency, which is the highest alarm the WHO can sound. Despite his decision to make the declaration, Tedros openly stated that “the risk of monkeypox is moderate globally and in all regions” with the exception of certain areas in Europe. Furthermore, the segment of the population primarily at risk is “men who have sex with men, especially those with multiple sexual partners.” The White House Considers Emergency Declaration The White House is also considering declaring monkeypox to be a public health emergency, the White House Covid response coordinator, Dr. Ashish Jha, said on Friday. After the alert was issued by the WHO, the White House and Health Officials in the United States were reportedly deliberating over the weekend on their next steps regarding monkeypox. Congressional Democrats and White House Officials estimated to Congress that 7 billion dollars is needed in funding to combat the virus, a figure they insisted in a memo reflects “the scope and urgency of the current situation.” The progressive left, and globalist world leaders, appear to be faced with two challenges. The first problem is that they currently lack medical evidence that monkeypox is a virus that poses a significant danger to the population as a whole, making an “emergency” declaration, at the very least, an exaggeration (if not a blatantly corrupt and agenda driven measure.) The second problem deals with public perception. Former neurosurgeon and White House advisor, Dr. Ben Carson, explained on Sunday in an interview with Maria Bartiromo, that he believes “it’s going to be very hard to convince people that [monkeypox] is something that’s very serious” following the government’s response to the coronavirus. Is Monkey Pox As Agenda Driven As COVID? Many, including prominent Christian voices, have questioned whether monkeypox will become a COVID 2.0. Is monkeypox going to be the next agenda-driven crisis used to stoke fear and gain control? In March of 2021, the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) partnered with the Munich Security Conference, to simulate a fictional “global pandemic involving an unusual strain of monkeypox” occurring in mid-May 2022. According to the NTI, “participants included 19 senior leaders and experts from across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe.” The Brownstone institute, discussing this simulated crisis, wrote: The global Monkeypox outbreak—occurring on the exact timeline predicted by a biosecurity simulation of a global Monkeypox outbreak a year prior—bears a striking resemblance to the outbreak of COVID-19 just months after Event 201, a simulation of a coronavirus pandemic almost exactly like COVID-19. Event 201 was hosted in October 2019—just two months before the coronavirus was first revealed in Wuhan—by the Gates Foundation, the World Economic Forum, Bloomberg, and Johns Hopkins. As with the Event 201, the participants at the Monkeypox simulation have thus far been stone silent as to their having participated in a pandemic simulation the facts of which happened to come true in real life just months later. As Jan Markell, Founder and President of Olive Tree Ministries, explained, the globalists prior to the COVID pandemic strategized the need for a “fear-induced crisis.” The coronavirus crisis successfully “changed the lifestyle of people in almost 200 nations,” Markell explained, underscoring that the “result of this engineered crisis [was] lawless mandates and rising tyranny.” “The globalists convinced the world [that] it is worth giving up many freedoms in the name of health safety,” she wrote. “During the Tribulation, the ‘left behind’ world will have to give up everything. Tremendous conditioning has gone on since March of 2020.” “Our own FBI encouraged people to turn in loved ones who might have been violating health safety. Such betrayal is ‘Tribulationesque’ in itself,” Markell warned. “The level to which the world has cooperated has been staggering.” Although “some would say that is only medical tyranny” Markell underscored that COVID opened “the door for total tyranny.” “If one didn’t have a Biblical perspective and an end-time hope, their actions would be terrifying,” she stressed. “It is as though they intend for as much destruction as humanly possible. God has washed His hands of many of these Godless leaders and they are recklessly careening into the very last days.” Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: Selling oil to China at bargain prices - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Joe Biden was exposed last month for selling part of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to a communist Chinese company with ties to his son Hunter while Americans are suffering from his energy-policy induced inflation. Well, Biden’s at it again. According to Department of Energy disclosures, the sales to Unipec America continued in July with another 950,000 barrels for an ongoing tally of nearly six million barrels. Unipec America is the trading arm of Sinopec, owned by the Communist Chinese government, in which Joe Biden’s son Hunter has held up to a ten percent business ownership. Hunter Biden’s lawyer says Hunter no longer holds a stake in the company. Chinese documents say otherwise. Moreover, an analysis by the Epoch Times indicates that Unipec America is buying the oil from the SPR at prices less than the highest bids—meaning there is at least the appearance that the Biden family is benefiting from the sale of America’s strategic petroleum reserves to communist China while Americans suffer. The Epoch Times reports: “Sales to Unipec appear to fall in the lower price range among the successful buyers…For the 2021 contract, Unipec paid about $63 for each barrel, about $7 lower than the trading price at the time, and more than $2 short of the highest price from other buyers in the sale. The April and July purchases cost Unipec $103.30 and $119.50 per barrel, respectively. The highest prices offered, by comparison, were $111.25 and $125.10.” The Washington Free Beacon reported in June that BHR Partners, a private equity firm Hunter Biden cofounded in 2013, “bought a $1.7 billion stake in Sinopec Marketing in 2015. Biden at one point owned a 10 percent stake in BHR Partners through his wholly owned firm, Skaneateles, LLC…Chinese business records still list Biden’s firm as a BHR shareholder, and Washington, D.C., records still show Biden as the firm’s owner.” The entire escapade has caught the eye of 10 members of Congress, Led by Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC). They sent a letter to Joe Biden documenting the Unipec deal among others, and concluding: “These allegations are severely unsettling, and if true, may even constitute an impeachable offense under the “bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors” clause of Article 2 of the Constitution.” The letter asked that specific information be provided the congressmen by July 25 and warned: “Those in power, especially our commander-in-chief, must think about how their actions impact the people they were elected to serve. The purpose of the SPR is “primarily to reduce the impact of disruptions in supplies of petroleum products” and supply crude oil to Americans during times of national emergency. The oil within the Strategic Petroleum Reserve was intended for the American people, not for adversarial countries, and certainly not to make the Biden Family richer at a time when our citizens are paying almost $5.00 a gallon for gasoline and $6.00 for diesel.” 1 Thessalonians 5:22 exhorts, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” Biden’s actions not only appear evil, they are, say it with me…Stupidocrisy. It seems as though we all collectively decided to have the weirdest hairstyle of all time. Hairstyles come and go, and other styles come and go. But the Word of God is always current and always relevant. Psalm 19:7–9 tells us, “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether” (NKJV). The Word of God is perfect. There are no flaws in it. Everything we need to know about God is found in the Bible. I love what Lamentations 3:22–23 says: “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning” (NLT). Have you ever had a time when you read a familiar passage of Scripture, and suddenly that passage seemed to jump off the page because it was so relevant to your life at the time? Sometimes we wonder why life is going so poorly. Why are we making so many bad decisions? We need to open the Word of God. Doctors know that a healthy appetite indicates good health, while a loss of appetite may indicate there is something wrong. In the same way, healthy Christians are hungry Christians, and they are hungry for the Word of God (see1 Peter 2:2). We can find everything we need to know about life in the Bible, and it never goes out of date. We can trust the Word of God.
