All of us were heartbroken at the images coming out of Maui in early August. Everyone said it was like the end of the world. It was apocalyptic. The scenes remind us of images from WWII when dozens of cities looked like Lahaina, Maui. But this wasn’t a wartime ordeal. This was a peaceful day in paradise that was interrupted by the unthinkable. A wildfire of suspicious origin violently ended the lives of hundreds, and potentially thousands, of people whose day started like any other and ended in a hellish ordeal. We see why the Bible says, “Today is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2) Life can end abruptly and unexpectedly. No one is promised a tomorrow. The word “apocalyptic” is being used all over the world as the planet groans, awaiting the liberation of Jesus Christ when He will set it free. Elsewhere in Europe, a month of rain fell on parts of Slovenia in a single day. China experienced devastating floods. Crops throughout the region were completely wiped out, and the property damage that has been done is off the charts. Devastating heat has tormented millions of people around the world. Hail pounded Germany. Fires in Portugal created an “apocalyptic inferno.” This, and much more, as we are in a run-up to the Rapture—the ultimate apocalyptic event. And divine judgment must also be considered as we see reprobate activity. “Go Gay Hawaii” welcomes everyone to gay-friendly Maui on a website built for just such promotion. The website says, “The Maui gay community is substantial and accepting. There are numerous LGBT and gay-friendly businesses on the island, exclusive Maui gay resorts and plenty to see, do and experience on this magical island. Maui Gay Pride is a staple event taking place each year around the first weekend in October.” The promotion continues, “In 2011, when Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie signed legislation legalizing gay marriage in Hawaii, he sealed the State’s fate as one of the top gay destinations in the world. We welcome you to plan your Maui gay vacation or wedding today!” And interestingly enough, about the only structure in Lahaina not destroyed was a church, though it was not a gospel preaching church. During the seven-year Tribulation, every city and nation will look like Maui. Can you imagine? I cannot. The city of Lahaina is a preview of things to come. The earth will reel from earthquakes, meteor showers and asteroids, stars falling from heaven, and the moving of mountains. One- third of the trees will burn up. The sun will go dark and the moon will turn to blood. Mankind will hide in caves and rocks and plead, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” (Rev. 6:12-17). When things are at their worst, Christ will suddenly appear on planet Earth during His second coming or “no flesh would be saved.” (Matthew 24:22) God is warning the unbelieving world about what is coming. Billions perish during that unprecedented time, and modern-day disasters are a pale foretelling of things to come. If you have Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life, none of this is of concern. Believers escape the wrath to come in the Tribulation. (Rev. 3:10) But all of us have loved ones who know little about God’s plan of the ages. They have never been told about eternal life. They are unaware that God’s wrath is not destined for true believers—unless you tell them. And, unless you outline the plan of salvation to them. Do so today. We all knew what Rosh Hashanah was. Half the kids in school took the day off. It was the Jewish New Year. Right? Not so much. The Jewish feast was started by men back in Babylon. This is the day of the Feast of Trumpets. Few Jews know a thing about it – and neither do Christians. That's odd because this is the date most associated with the Messiah's return. Jesus says this in Matthew 24:30 and 31: "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." And, since it's the Feast of Trumpets, there's the ram's horn, the shofar, the Hebrew word for trumpet. The blowing of the shofar signifies the beginning of the 10 days of repentance leading up to Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement, the holiest date on the Hebrew calendar. But if that's not enough, later in Matthew 24:36 and 37, he adds: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Why don't they know the day and the hour? Because this is the one feast that has an anomaly, a forgotten feast of the Jews and one that is completely a mystery to Christians. Think about the Messiah's relationship to the Jews when you read this next verse in Zechariah 12:10 about when He returns: "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." Who does that resemble? Jesus. The people are waiting for their Messiah. He's coming to save his people. Yet they start their greatest hour of mourning. Why are they confused? Because it's the time of starting the traditional 10 days of mourning. And why are Christians caught unawares? Because they are not expecting Him because they don't know their Scriptures. These are God's appointed holy days for all his people. They are called in the Bible "the Feasts of the Lord." They haven't been forgotten by God. They weren't forgotten or forsaken by Jesus, who observed them all. They weren't forgotten by His apostles, who observed them all. They were forsaken only by those who chose to separate the "church" from the practices of the Hebrews – divorcing followers of the Hebrew Messiah from their Hebrew and biblical roots. How do I know this? Because these holy days will be observed, again, in the Kingdom Jesus-Yeshua institutes upon His return to earth. It is prophesied just as surely as His return is prophesied. In fact, the Hebrew calendar is a foreshadowing of redemption, with Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the Feast of First Fruits in the spring, followed by Shavout, which Christians call Pentecost, 50 days later. In the fall come the Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and Tabernacles. They all have significance and meaning with regard to the life, death, resurrection and return of Lord Jesus. It's just that most Christians haven't been taught these things. They don't know what they don't know. They've been robbed of their own Hebrew roots – even their Christian roots! But one thing is undeniable: Christians still worship a Jewish Messiah. That's what our faith is all about. And, someday soon, a Jew is going to rule the world. Then it will all be clear, once again. How will He return? Let's look at what the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." That "trump" or trumpet could very well be on the Feast of Trumpets, one of these years. That would be the most likely time. Then there would likely be 10 days of awe, leading up to the Day of Atonement, followed by Sukkot, when we truly tabernacle with Him. Is it beginning to make sense? It's extremely rich and meaningful and will make your faith come alive if you take the time to study the Hebrew calendar and these Feasts of the Lord. They weren't just for yesterday. They are for today and tomorrow. They're not just Jewish traditions. They are God's appointed times for all His children. Forty authors over 1500 years on three different continents, most of whom never met or spoke, could not have come up with such a detailed and proven record of man’s history with a track record of 100% accuracy when speaking of future events through Bible prophecy. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV – “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” Bible critics say, “Any book can claim that of itself.” However, this breaks down quickly when you consider that what the Bible says it will do, it does. Moral standards around the world have long been established on Biblical precepts. Profitable doctrine that reproves and corrects errant thinking and practices comes from a study of God’s word. Students of Scripture are equipped for every good work. Psalms 138:2 KJV – “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” If God has magnified His word even above all His name, how foolish is it to trifle with it? To reject portions and accept others, or to assign some to a place of cultural irrelevance, is to hold the Bible, and thus the God of the Bible, in low esteem. The fact is that the book of Daniel was so stunningly accurate in its predictions of future events that many have said it couldn’t have been written beforehand, but must have actually been written after the fact. And Psalm 119 is such a literary masterpiece that it is studied by secular scholars for its sheer poetic beauty. Psalm 119 is what is known as an octadinal acrostic. Octad refers to “eight”, and an acrostic is where each line begins with sequential letters of the alphabet. What makes Psalm 119 unique is it uses each of the 22 consonants of the Hebrew alphabet eight times in a row before it moves to the next letter. Eight times for each of the 22 Hebrew letters make up the 176 verses of Psalm 119. God had to be involved in such a literary masterpiece! Psalms 119:160 KJV – “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.” The Bible isn’t outdated or out of step with man; man is out of step with the Bible, and the condition of the world is proof. The entirety of God’s word is truth. Think about it, Ezekiel predicted the return of the Jews to their national homeland followed by a prophecy of a coalition of nations forming together to invade Israel from the north. Ezekiel also records voices of protest to this invasion. The invading nations prophesied about are currently in coalition together, and the protesting nations, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, are establishing diplomatic ties with Israel. Man is incapable of such a prediction. Most of the time we don’t even know what we’re having for lunch later in the same day let alone something that is going to happen over 2500 years in the future. John 1:1 KJV – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Hebrews 13:8 KJV – “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Jesus is the Word. Jesus doesn’t change, so the word doesn’t either. It, too, is the same yesterday, today, and forever. James 1:21 KJV – “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” This is what makes denying the inspiration and integrity of the word of God so dangerous. The Bible contains the only message about the only person who has the capacity, through His shed blood as recorded in His word, to save the human soul. That should tell us who is behind all efforts to disparage the Bible – Satan. The Bible does not “contain” the word of God, it “is” the word of God. The entirety of it is truth, and its truths have been proven time and again, including through the millions of saved souls who have heeded its message. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 – “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” That time has come! Jesus is coming for us soon! A Draconian New Law Went Into Effect On August 25th That Institutes Extreme Censorship Of The Internet On A Global Basis - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/a-draconian-new-law-went-into-effect-on-august-25th-that-institutes-extreme-censorship-of-the-internet-on-a-global-basis/ The Internet just changed forever, but most people living in the United States don’t even realize what just happened. A draconian new law known as the “Digital Services Act” went into effect in the European Union on Friday, and it establishes an extremely strict regime of Internet censorship that is far more authoritarian than anything we have ever seen before. From this point forward, hordes of European bureaucrats will be the arbiters of what is acceptable to say on the Internet. If they discover something that you have said on a large online platform that they do not like, they can force that platform to take it down, because someone in Europe might see it. So even though this is a European law, the truth is that it is going to have a tremendous impact on all of us. From this point forward, nothing will be the same. It is being reported that the DSA literally makes large tech companies “legally accountable for the content posted to them”… The European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA) has officially gone into effect. Starting on August 25th, 2023, tech giants like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and more must comply with sweeping legislation that holds online platforms legally accountable for the content posted to them. Even though this new law was passed in the EU, we’ll likely see far-reaching global effects as companies adjust their policies to comply. Initially, there will be 19 giant online platforms that will be forced to comply with this new law… Ranging from social media platforms to online marketplaces and search engines, the list so far includes: Facebook, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Amazon, Booking, AliExpress, Zalando, Google Shopping, Wikipedia, Google Maps, Google and Apple’s mobile app stores, Google’s Search, and Microsoft’s Bing. But starting on February 24th, 2024, the Digital Services Act will start applying to a much broader spectrum of online platforms that have fewer than 45 million monthly users. We are being told that this new law will establish clear rules that online platforms must follow. That will include censoring anything that is deemed “false or misleading” under the Strengthened Code of Practice on Disinformation… So what kind of speech is the DSA expected to police? Last year’s Strengthened Code of Practice on Disinformation defines disinformation as “false or misleading content that is spread with an intention to deceive or secure economic or political gain and which may cause public harm.” The code has already been put to work during elections and to “respond to crises,” such as COVID and the war in Ukraine. And it really doesn’t matter if material that European bureaucrats consider to be “false or misleading” is actually “false of misleading” at all. What matters is that if online platforms do not comply with what they are being told to do, they will pay dearly… Online platforms that don’t comply with the DSA’s rules could see fines of up to 6 percent of their global turnover. According to the EU Commission, the Digital Services Coordinator and the Commission will have the power to “require immediate actions where necessary to address very serious harms.” A platform continually refusing to comply could result in a temporary suspension in the EU. Big tech companies will be desperate to avoid such penalties, and so they will obey. And so that means that “hundreds of unelected EU bureaucrats” will be in control of speech on the Internet now… Under this Orwellian regime, a team of hundreds of unelected EU bureaucrats will decide what constitutes disinformation and instruct Big Tech firms to censor it. The firms themselves, faced with reputational risk and financial penalties, will have little choice other than to comply. This can be done in all manner of ways: simply by human moderators removing content, by shadow-banning problematic creators to reduce their reach, by demonetizing certain content, and by tweaking algorithms to favor or disfavor certain topics. And though, legally speaking, the DSA only applies in the EU, once installed inside Big Tech firms, this vast content-regulation apparatus will surely affect users in the rest of the world, too. We are being told that these EU bureaucrats will also be working with “trusted flaggers” to help identify content that needs to be censored… The DSA’s “trusted flaggers” are entities with proven expertise in flagging harmful or illegal content to platforms. The new regulation provides that their content flagging shall be prioritised by platforms when moderating content. You might be tempted to think that you will be able to avoid all of this censorship because you do not live in Europe. Unfortunately, that is simply not true. If you post something that someone in Europe might see, your content comes under the jurisdiction of this horrifying new law. So you need to brace yourself for a level of Internet censorship that none of us have ever seen before. In addition, most of the large tech companies that must comply with this new law are based in the United States. And it turns out that the Federal Trade Commission actually sent officials to Europe in March to assist with the implementation of this new law on U.S. soil… U.S. Senate Commerce Committee Ranking Member Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today sent letters to Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairwoman Lina Khan and the head of the European Union’s San Francisco office, demanding answers regarding the degree of coordination between the FTC and the EU to enforce the EU’s Digital Services Act (“DSA”) and Digital Markets Act (“DMA”) on U.S. soil. Both foreign laws were written to weaken American tech companies, particularly in Europe. There are no corollary federal laws to the DSA and DMA, making the FTC’s efforts to conspire with foreign regulators against U.S. businesses unprecedented. The FTC announced in March that it was sending agency officials to Brussels to assist the EU in implementing these laws, while the EU opened a San Francisco office to pressure U.S tech companies to comply with them. From this point forward, it is going to become much more difficult to share alternative views on the Internet. Personally, there will be certain things that I will only be able to share in my books or with the paid subscribers of my Substack newsletter. I am going to need to be more careful about what I share from now on, because if I say something publicly on the Internet that offends the bureaucrats in Europe, I could get into really big trouble. And that is going to apply to every other independent journalist as well. For a long time, the Internet allowed ordinary people like you and ordinary people like me to share truth with a world that was desperate for it. But now the gatekeepers are exerting a draconian level of control, and the Internet will never, ever be the same again. Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: State-sanctioned sexual grooming of children - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The state-sponsored sexual grooming of America’s children must stop. Public schools, national, state and local government, media, Hollywood, and many large corporations support a sexual agenda aimed at confusing children about their sexuality. Who can imagine such debauchery would be allowed against kids? If adults outside of these institutions approached children with these sexual undertones, they would be labeled sexual predators because the laws protect children from such. However, public schools are, by policy, not only allowing but supporting, sexual predation, on school children. And since it is government, it appears that they can do this under legal protection. This must end. Parents Defending Education (PDE), an organization working to stop harmful agendas in schools, has compiled a list of school districts by state that have openly stated that district personnel can or should keep a student’s transgender status hidden from parents. While PDE says the list is not comprehensive, it is extremely disturbing. PDF cites 1,040 school districts with 18,335 schools affecting some 10.7 million students subjected to these kind of policies. That’s the schools they know about. There may be many more that are unreported. These districts and teachers are withholding information from parents that puts children at risk of irreversible reproductive health decisions as well as placing them at high risk of suicide. Parental rights are purposely being violated by policy directive, and the consequences are horrible. Some courts have blocked alternative policies that require parental notification of changes in a student’s sexual orientations because it would be “detrimental to transgender youth. They are ignoring the vast majority of students and the detrimental impact on their mental and physical health. Moreover, this agenda is causing tremendous pressure on kids who are normal–sorry–who know they are male or female. Case in point is a Gettysburg, Pa school district that hired a male tennis coach in 2018, but in 2022 he became “transgendered” and changed his name from David to Sasha. Even though there were incidents that he had all his male parts and not only changed in the girls’ locker room, but also followed a female student into a bathroom, trying to strike up a conversation with her. The school district rehired this guy. Virginia’s largest school district, Fairfax County Public Schools, announced it will defy the state’s Department of Education pro-parent’s rights policies requiring school activities and bathroom use be restricted to students’ sex assigned at birth. Prince William County schools also joined the rebellion. What is the solution? First, take your kids out of public school. If that’s not an option, parents, grandparents, anybody that pays property taxes, should attend school board meetings and pull an Ephesians 6:20 to “speak boldly as I ought to speak” as an ambassador to the gospel, which recognizes God in the beginning, made them male and female. Yes, trans and queers have civil rights like all human beings, but not rights that trample those of parents over their own children…that is, say it with me…Stupidocrisy. There’s something about their lifestyle that causes you to say, “I want to be more like that. I want to walk with God like that, worship like that, and share my faith like that.” Those Christians are doing their jobs because they’re stimulating a thirst for Christ in others. The greatest compliment a nonbeliever can pay to a believer is when they say, “Why are you the way that you are? I want what you have.” However, we cannot be an influence for purity in the world if we are compromised in our purity. Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless” (Matthew 5:13 NLT). These are some heavy-duty words from Jesus about unsalty Christians. Essentially, He’s saying that if we’re not making a difference, then what good are we? We can’t sting the world’s conscience if we go against our own. We cannot stimulate spiritual thirst in others if we have lost our own. And God cannot use us to stop the corruption of sin in others if sin has corrupted us. According to Jesus, if we are unsalty salt, we are good for nothing. A Christian should have flavor—zest, zing, edge. Christians aren’t supposed to be bland. They aren’t supposed to go along with everything. They are to be salt, stopping the spread of evil and stimulating thirst for Christ in others. They are there to make a difference. Otherwise, they are like tepid coffee, uncarbonated cola, or a nonfat, decaf latte. In short, they’re not living the life that God called them to live.
