A Tale of Two Kings – Randy Nettles - https://www.rev310.net/post/a-tale-of-two-kings
This is a tale of two kings of Israel/Judah. One began his kingship well, but it ended badly; the other began his kingship bad, but it ended well (relatively speaking). But first, let’s go to the very beginning before there were any kings. During the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, God gave Moses and the children of Israel various commandments, statutes, rules, regulations, worship and offering instructions; as described in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. One of the commandments God declared for the Israelites is found in Deuteronomy 7: “When the Lord your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, and when the Lord your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them. Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son. For they will turn your sons away from following Me, to serve other gods; so the anger of the Lord will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly. But thus you shall deal with them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire. For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth” (Deuteronomy 7:1-7). The Lord God also gave the Israelites principles for kings to govern by. Of course, there were no kings during this time, only the great judge and leader, Moses. God, knowing the end from the beginning, gave them these rules anyway, as He knew the people would eventually ask for a king to rule over them. These principles governing kings are found in Deuteronomy 17: “When you come to the land which the Lord your God is giving you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me, you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the Lord has said to you, You shall not return that way again. Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.” “Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites and it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes, that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel” (Deuteronomy 17: 14-20). Sure enough, during the time of the prophet Samuel, the last Judge of Israel, all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel demanding a king to judge them like all the nations around them. This demand displeased Samuel, so he prayed to the Lord. The Lord told Samuel to heed the voice of the people, for they had not rejected him (Samuel), but they had rejected the Lord Himself from ruling the people. The Lord then told Samuel to warn the people about the negative aspects of having a King who will reign over them. Samuel told them: “This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariots and to be his horsemen, and some will run before his chariots. He will appoint captains over his thousands and captains over his fifties, will set some to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and some to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers. And he will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them to his servants. He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage, and give it to his officers and servants. And he will take your male servants, your female servants, your finest young men, and your donkeys, and put them to his work. He will take a tenth of your sheep. And you will be his servants. And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day” (1 Samuel 8:11-18). The people would not be persuaded and told Samuel that they still wanted a king. The Lord God eventually chose Saul to be the first king of Israel in about 1050 BC. Even though Saul began his kingship well, and it ended very badly, this story isn’t about him. After Saul and his sons were killed in battle, David became Israel’s next king in about 1010 BC. David was Israel’s greatest king. He started out good and ended good (with the exception of the Bathsheba, Uriah incident), so this story isn’t about him either. David reigned until about 970 BC. Before his death, he gave instructions to Solomon, his son, regarding being king of Israel. Yes, this is one of the main characters of this story. Here is David’s advice to his young son, who would become king: “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn; that the Lord may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, He said, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel” (1 Kings 2:1-4). Solomon, the son of David and Bathsheba, became king of Israel (all 12 tribes) in 970 BC. “And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statues of David his father; only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, Ask what I shall give you” (1 Kings 3:3-5). Solomon told the Lord to give him an understanding heart (wisdom) to judge the people, that he might discern between good and evil. This answer pleased the Lord, and God said unto him: “Behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked; both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So if you walk in my ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days” (1 Kings 3:12-15). God granted Solomon’s request for wisdom. “And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding and largeness of heart like the sand and seashore. Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. And men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon” (1 Kings 4:29-30;34). God also added great wealth to Solomon for he was pleased with Solomon’s request for wisdom. “The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was 666 talents of gold, besides that from the traveling merchants, from the income of traders, from all the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the country. So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom” (1 Kings 10:14-15;23). Solomon’s first act as king of Israel (and before his dream) was to marry the daughter of the Pharaoh of Egypt. This was in essence seen as a pact or treaty between the two nations. This act of marrying wives of foreign nations started a habit that would last for the rest of Solomon’s life. This was after hearing his father’s last words to him, which was to keep the charge of the Lord your God, and to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes and commandments, and His judgment, and His testimonies, as is written in the law of Moses. One of these statutes is found in Exodus 34: “Take heed to yourself, beware lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, wherever you go, lest it be a snare in the midst of you; and you go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call you, and you eat of his sacrifice; and you take of their daughters unto your sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make your sons go a whoring after their gods. You shall make you no molten gods.” (Exodus 34:12-12). Solomon initially proved to be a wise and understanding king. His greatest achievement was building the Temple in Jerusalem, which began in 966 B.C. (1 Kings 6:1-9) and was completed seven years later in 959 B.C. The Temple was one of the most magnificent structures of the ancient world. It was built on Mount Moriah in the very spot where Abraham almost sacrificed Isaac and where David had built an altar to the Lord. Unfortunately, Solomon did not heed the last words of his earthly father, David; nor did he obey the word of the Lord regarding this matter: “Solomon loved many foreign women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites – from the nations of whom the Lord had said to the children of Israel, You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods. Solomon clung to these in love. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.” “For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidionians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the LORD, as did his father David. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the hill that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon. And he did likewise for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.” “So the LORD became angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned from the LORD God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not keep what the Lord had commanded. Therefore the LORD said to Solomon, Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant. Nevertheless I will not do it in your days, for the sake of your father David; I will tear it out of the hand of your son. However I will not tear away the whole kingdom; I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen” (1 Kings 11:1-13). This was the beginning of the end for the united kingdom of Israel (12 tribes) due to their rapidly approaching fullness of sins against the Lord their God. Solomon ruled Israel for 40 years (as did David and Saul) before his death in 930 B.C. Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, assumed kingship after his father’s death. Shortly afterward the people revolted against him and 10 of the 12 tribes formed their own kingdom and called it Israel. Rehoboam ruled the southern nation of Judah (with the tribe of Benjamin). God’s prophecy had come true, as it always does. The sins of Solomon, the wisest man in the Old Testament, would leave a lasting legacy on the future generations of the kings of Israel (and Judah). Most of them would emulate Solomon and multiply themselves with wives, horses, and gold & silver, in direct rebellion against the commandments of the Lord God. Solomon traded the wisdom of God for the foolishness of man (and women). It reminds you of the modern age we are living in now, doesn’t it? It was Solomon himself that said, “That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). King Solomon evidently didn’t remember his own words when he blessed the assembly before the dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem: “May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us, that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers. And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the Lord, be near the Lord our God day and night, that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day may require, that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD IS God; there is no other. Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day” (1 Kings 8:57-61). Solomon did not receive the conditional promise of the Lord regarding living a long life. “So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days: (1 Kings 3:14). The Bible doesn’t record his age at death, but he was probably 60 or younger. I assume this because of the following verse in 1 Kings during the time of Solomon’s dream and conversation with God: “Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am only a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in” (! Kings 3:7). How could Solomon, the wisest man in the Bible (other than Jesus), be so foolish? And how could he have started out so great as king of Israel and ended his reign so terrible? He made extremely bad choices in his later years. He chose to please his heathen wives instead of the Almighty God of the universe. The choices one makes in this life reverberate in the afterlife for all eternity. Some of these choices, such as the salvation issue, have the utmost consequences, not only in this life but in the one to come. I think Solomon repented in his later years, and once again acknowledged and remembered the Lord God of his youth. Here are the last words of King Solomon that are recorded in the Bible: “Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:6, 13-14). Wise words indeed! In contrast to King Solomon, let’s look at the life of King Manasseh, who was the 13th (unlucky number) generation from Solomon. 2 Kings 2:11 says that Manasseh was 12 years old when he became king of Judah, and he reigned 55 years in Jerusalem. He co-reigned with his father, Hezekiah for 10 years, so he didn’t actually become sole ruler until he was 22 years old. Manasseh spent his formative years under the tutelage of the righteous Hezekiah. King Hezekiah is said to have removed the high places (used to worship foreign gods) and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the wooden image, and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made (for the children of Israel had started worshipping it). King Hezekiah did what was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his ‘father’ David had done. He trusted in the LORD God of Israel, so that after him was none like him. For he held fast to the LORD; he did not depart from following Him but kept His commandments, which the LORD had commanded Moses” (2 Kings 18:3, 5-6). Hezekiah’s righteousness was in direct contrast to his father’s (Ahaz) apostasy and idol worshipping ways. How did he break the cycle of evil influence thrust upon him by his father, Ahaz? He chose to! He wisely chose to obey God and His law and commandments instead of obeying the foolish ways of his evil father. Hezekiah probably named his son after Joseph’s firstborn son, Manasseh, which means ”for God has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.” Manasseh was the complete opposite of his righteous father. Even after witnessing the righteous acts of his father, Manasseh chose evil over good: “And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the LORD had said, In Jerusalem I will put My name. And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spirits and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. He even set a carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the Lord had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever” (2 Kings 21:2-7). King Manasseh also shed very innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another. He probably encouraged the children of Israel to sacrifice their sons to heathen gods. Some of this innocent blood might have been Isaiah the prophet’s, as it is believed Manasseh might have had him killed. According to Jewish tradition, Isaiah was tied inside a sack, placed within a hollow of a tree trunk, and then sawed in two. For Manasseh’s evil deeds, the LORD sent His prophets, to speak to the king and all of Judah: “Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations (he has acted more wickedly than all the Amorites who were before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols), therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing such calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle. And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. So I will forsake the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become victims of plunder to all their enemies, because they have done evil in My sight, and have provoked Me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day ” (2 Kings 21:11-15). There were several evil kings of Judah before Manasseh (such as his grandfather Ahaz) but none surpassed him in disobeying the Laws of Moses and shedding innocent blood, His acts were so egregious, God’s patience with the kingdom of Judah finally ended (as it did with the kingdom of Israel and the Amorites before that) and He sent His prophets to prophesy Judah’s doom. Will this be the same destiny for America? There are no longer Jewish prophets of the Lord that are sent by Him to deliver His personal messages. We do, however, have His word, the Bible, that speaks of the demise of all the kingdoms of the world that have (or will) ignored His laws and commandments. If past history is an indicator of future consequences, then I think America and its leaders can expect the same result. It’s not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when.’ The average age of empires is 250 years, according to Sir John Bagot Glubb, a specialist on the subject, who wrote a short treatise called “The Fate of Empires and Search for Survival.” The united (12 tribes) kingdom of Israel lasted for 120 years before God divided it up into two kingdoms. The northern kingdom of Israel survived for 208 years as a kingdom before they were conquered by the Assyrians. Judah lasted for 344 years as a kingdom before they were conquered by the Babylonians. God gave the Amorites over 400 years to repent, as He told Abram when the covenant was made, “But in the fourth generation they (children of Israel) shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete” (Genesis 15:16). America has been an official nation (not empire) for 246 years now. I wonder sometimes if the iniquity of the Americans is yet complete. If not, it is probably getting close. The Lord spoke to Manasseh, and to his people, but they would not hearken. “So the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns [nettles], and bound him with bronze chains, and carried him to Babylon [Assyria had at this time captured the capital city of the Babylonians]. And when he was in affliction, he sought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, and prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD He was God” (2 Chronicles 33:10-13). King Manasseh had to learn the hard way, but at least the Lord let him live long enough for him to repent and believe in the Lord God. Until death, no one is beyond God’s forgiveness. Take, for example, the thief on the cross at the crucifixion of Jesus, per Luke 23:43. If the Lord can forgive the thief on the cross or Manasseh, do you think He is unable to forgive you? Manasseh tried to make up for his evil acts for the rest of his life. “He took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city. And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed there peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel. Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only” (2 Chronicles 33:15-17). The reign of Manasseh as sole king of Judah lasted for 45 years. Can you imagine living under the rule of an evil king for that long? It’s hard enough to live under the evil rule of the Biden administration and the Democrats for only 4 years (I pray). “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan” (Proverbs 29:2). Manasseh started out bad as king of Judah, but at least he ended his reign well. It took an act of God, but he eventually turned his life around and made the right choice for the Lord. It doesn’t matter how good or bad you begin life, it is only the finish that counts. By finishing well, I’m not referring to acquiring success, wealth, power, fame, or religion. I’m talking about doing the will of God according to His word. The will of God is this: to believe in the one He sent, the LORD Jesus Christ. “And the world is passing away and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:17). “Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name” (Revelation 3:11-12). Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Randy Nettles [email protected] Placating Putin – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2022/02/14/placating-putin/ Many Bible prophecy students of the pre-trib sort have carefully watched Vladimir Putin over the past years. The Russian president’s demeanor, many believe, demonstrates that this man of relatively short stature exhibits and presents a much larger image, in possible prophetic terms. I’m referring, of course, to the belief by many that the dictator, a former KGB operative, could be the Gog of Ezekiel 38-39. That is, Mr. Putin could be the leader who will be possessed by the Gog spirit or demon who will think the evil thought described by the prophet Ezekiel. –That Putin might be the leader who will lead the Gog-Magog coalition of nations prophesied to invade toward Israel. While I find this an interesting, even fascinating prospect, I’m not prepared to totally commit to a definite postulation in that regard. However, thinking on these strange and troubling times during which we are traversing times of fortified prophetic progression, a term my partner in raptureready.com, Todd Strandberg, has coined, the possibility of Putin filling that prophetic role is certainly worthy of consideration. The lateness of these closing days of the age, while Russia threatens to invade Ukraine, brings into focus such prophecies by Jesus Himself as the following. “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” (Matt 24: 6) and “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.” (Lk 21: 25) With Putin bringing more than one hundred thousand troops and military equipment to the borders of Ukraine and his apparently wanting to invade to bring that former Soviet bloc nation again into Russia’s orb, the rumors of war are rampant. This is perhaps the greatest threat of regional and even world-wide war since the fall of the Soviet Union and the close of the cold war. With the world-wide protests across Europe and the Canadian/American truckers’ massive protests, and with despot-like leaders facing them and not knowing how to handle it all, the nations are in perplexity and the people are likened to seas and waves roaring. So, it is more than understandable why many Bible prophecy observers of the times might strongly point to Putin as the Gog possessed leader of that invading force predicted by Ezekiel. All stage-setting seems almost complete for these things to begin to come to pass. This American presidential administration has demonstrated weakness in practically every endeavor, in terms of dealing with international problems. They have dealt in evil harshness and dogged determination in confronting American patriots –the prime example being the January 6 peaceful protesters who were seduced into a march on the capitol, etc., and set up by the FBI and others as terrorists, imp my humble opinion. But in facing off with Russia and China –the truly great threats against America– this president has been, as the overused word indicates, feckless. While in SkyWatch TV studios last week doing a number of programs for Pete Garcia’s and my book The Disappearing: Future Events That Will Rock the World, I was asked the question: Do you think Putin will invade Ukraine? My answer at that time, just this past week, was, “I really don’t think Putin really wants to invade. He has things going his way without invasion.” My opinion has changed in that short period of time. His bringing more troops and military assets to Ukraine’s borders isn’t the movement of one who is bluffing. The fact that he won’t talk with American officials, and barely will talk with this president is indication enough to know that he intends to fully act out the role of the Russian bear. I would now be surprised if he doesn’t invade. This is due to placating him at every turn and threatening only sanctions of the economic sort. If Putin were to deliberately attack a NATO nation, then there would be confrontation from the western alliance. But Mr. Biden observably hasn’t the nerve –or whatsoever it takes— to unilaterally face down this voracious dictator. There is increasing talk among some observers that Gog is not Putin or a Russian leader but very possibly the Turkish leader Erdogan (the most likely) or a future Turkish leader and that Magog is Turkey, not Russia. While we must never rule out possibilities so far as details are concerned, I can’t, after years of studying the Ezekiel 38-39 Gog-Magog matters, conclude that the head of the coalition against Israel will be other than Russia. It looks very much like Vladimir Putin might well be the man who could lead such a coalition. His appetite for conquest is building, and a time might come soon when Israel and its vast oil and gas reserves, a threat to Putin’s desire to be the lone supplier of Europe and other regions, might give him that evil thought that puts hooks in the jaws of Gog. By placating this ruthless Russian leader, Biden and company just might be fueling the fires of Putin’s appetite for such conquest as Ezekiel ascribes to the one who will be Gog. Globalists aren’t just coming for your cars and your cash; they also want your steaks, burgers and bacon – Leo Hohmann - https://leohohmann.com/2022/02/14/globalists-arent-just-coming-for-your-cars-and-your-cash-they-also-want-your-steaks-burgers-and-bacon/ We reported last week on how the globalists are coming for your cars and your cash, because your cars are key to you retaining your freedom of movement and your cash is paramount to you maintaining your financial independence and your privacy. But they don’t intend to stop there. If there’s one thing the globalist cabal hates, it’s free and independent people. They want everyone, from every social strata, to be dependent in one form or another on the government for their survival. But they want more than your cars and your cash, which they will replace with self-driving electric cars and digital money. They also want to nose their way into your personal dietary habits. There’s a video that’s started circulating on the Internet under the title, “Woke Activist Says Eating Hamburgers Is Sexist.” This video is powerfully symbolic of the attitude the global predators have toward we the people. I’ve said repeatedly that in the beast system they are trying to bring in under the Great Reset and Fourth Industrial Revolution, you will have no rights. Only privileges. You eat and survive and move about in society at the pleasure of the almighty state and its corporate “partners.” Klaus Schwab and his buddies at the World Economic Forum call this system “stakeholder capitalism” and it’s coming soon to a city or town near you. If we let it. So you have to watch this clip from a speech by Carol Adams, who argued for the complete elimination of meat as a food for human consumption in a recent presentation before the Oxford Union Society. She says eating hamburgers is a sign that you are sexist and maybe even a white supremacist. Do not make the mistake of dismissing her as just some crazy leftist lunatic. She is a useful idiot, but she has some very influential people behind her who are working overtime to make sure you don’t get to eat very much meat, if any, in the coming new world order. (It’s no coincidence that meat is one of the items, along with fuel for our cars, that is getting more unaffordable by the day as our economy shifts into hyper inflationary mode). Watch: https://youtu.be/gMfjm4NWkYU Adams’ is actually arguing the position of very powerful global interests. The World Economic Forum and its founder, Klaus Schwab, along with his friend Bill Gates and many other powerful billionaires are all saying that in order to “save the planet,” we need to have fewer living, breathing human beings walking the earth and those who remain must learn to cut back on their carnivore cravings. That’s no doubt why Gates has made himself the biggest buyer of American farmland and why China is also among the top buyers of U.S. agricultural properties. They hope that by taking more American ranchers out of business they can drastically cut the supply of beef, pork and chicken coming to market and create a market for their artificial lab-grown meat. And who is the world’s premiere investor in lab-grown meat? You guessed it. Bill Gates. He has said that lab-grown meat could start to show up in U.S. grocery stores by the end of 2022. But first, there’s a little more work to be done in the propaganda war against meat. They must demonize meat eaters and that’s what the woke woman at the Oxford Union was doing. Meat eaters are evil, sexist, misogynistic extremists. Anything on which the globalist predators who hate humanity want to declare war on, they simply label as racist, sexist or homophobic. They have said the same thing about the word “freedom.” Because the Truckers’ Freedom Convoy has breathed new life into the international freedom movement and is exposing the tyrants, those who finance and provide propaganda cover for the tyrants are now saying that use of the word “freedom” is a favorite choice of “racists” and “extremists.” So beware of hitching your train to those evil “freedom” lovers. I kid you not. This is the message being put out by Canada’s state-owned media, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. The CBC actually came out with an article trying to convince its readers that to advocate for freedom makes you suspect of being a “far right” extremist and racist. Are these globalist freaks pathetic, or what? You truly couldn’t make this up, folks. Will The Next Economic Crisis Be Deliberately Engineered? – Brandon Smith - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=5209 The effective Federal Reserve funds rate (the EFFR) has been sitting at virtually zero for a long time now. It feels a little strange to think about the fact that it was 14 years ago when the central bank first helped to trigger the crash of 2008 and we are still dealing with the consequences of it today. I only started writing for the liberty movement two years before that. The amount of time that it takes for economic disasters to develop is well beyond the average person's attention span. In fact, there are many people who are adults today that have no clue what happened in 2008 because they were in elementary school when it went down. This is how the establishment is able to get away with the negative changes to our national standard of living - because these changes usually happen over the course of decades and almost no one notices. That said, there comes a point in any financial collapse where the floor is as thin as it will ever get. When the next shoe drops it's going to break right through along with all the furniture. At this stage there is no slow moving crash, everything goes all at once. We have already seen this scenario in action; and again, I don't think very many people remember the event. Here's what most people have forgotten In 2018 the Fed began hinting at the institution not only of rate hikes but also cuts to asset purchases and its balance sheet simultaneously. It's important to understand that effective rates had been sitting near zero for almost a decade and cheap overnight loans from the central bank were feeding one of the longest running corporate stock buyback bonanzas in history. Stock buybacks and easy Fed money facilitated a near endless bull market rally in equities. The lack of real price discovery and the perpetual free-for-all was so bad that the mantra for stocks became "Buy the dip!" The assumption was that the Fed was always going to step in to protect markets from falling. Why? Because they had done this for several years, creating one of the biggest spikes in the Dow and Nasdaq of all time. Why would they do anything different? But, in 2018, for short time we witnessed what would happen if the central bank was to take away the punch bowl and it was not pretty. Closing in on mid-2018 the Fed began to hike rates and cut its balance sheet more aggressively. We had seen small intermittent rate hikes since 2015, but these had not coincided with asset cuts or changes in overnight loans to major banks and corporations. The markets immediately began to reverse more than we had seen in some time, gas prices jumped and the yield curve flattened after rates rose a mere 50 basis points. It didn't take much to cause a panic among investors. So, to be clear, the major business and investment framework of the U.S. has been so dependent on cheap credit from the Fed that even the tiniest increase in interest rates was enough to almost unhinge the entire system. Of course, bull market ticker trackers in the media missed the whole purpose of this exercise. The Fed reversed course on hikes and their balance sheet in mid-2019, so the mainstream once again assumed that this meant the central bank would "never" allow markets to fall. Back in 2018 the argument was that there was no need for the Fed to hike rates or drop assets because there was no imminent threat of inflation. The average economist and the media refused to acknowledge the many warning signs that high inflation was going to hit us in the near term. But the Fed knows exactly what it is doing and they understand that the trillions upon trillions of dollars they created out of thin air after the derivatives crisis will ultimately come back to bite the U.S. economy in the rear in the form of price inflation and stagflation. Another interesting fact about the hikes of 2018 is that Jerome Powell had warned about the consequences of such actions years prior in 2012 during the October Fed meeting: "...I think we are actually at a point of encouraging risk-taking, and that should give us pause. Investors really do understand now that we will be there to prevent serious losses. It is not that it is easy for them to make money but that they have every incentive to take more risk, and they are doing so. Meanwhile, we look like we are blowing a fixed-income duration bubble right across the credit spectrum that will result in big losses when rates come up down the road. You can almost say that that is our strategy." - Jerome Powell Yet, he signed off on the policy anyway once he became chairman. Why? Because he was ordered to. Former Fed chairman Alan Greenspan once admitted that the central bank answers to no one in government, but this does not mean the Fed is independent. The Fed is only a part of a larger global central banking machine under the oversight of the Bank for International Settlements. This is not "conspiracy theory," it is simply reality. The notion that the Fed acts thoughtlessly, or that their goal is to keep the U.S. economy afloat is just not true. There are much bigger plans at play. The next deliberately Engineered economic crisis My position back then remains the same today: The rate hikes of 2018 were a test run for a more aggressive and deliberately engineered crisis down the road. The Fed has its own agenda, it does not care about protecting U.S. markets, nor does it even care about protecting the U.S. economy in general. I hold that the Fed is a weapon for social and political change within America and part of its job is to greatly reduce the standard of living of the population while making it appear as if this decline is a "natural" consequence of the U.S. system. Keep in mind that none other than Karl Marx was insistent that central banks were a primary pillar of a socialist/communist system and its ability to maintain control of the public. As Marx noted in his Manifesto Of The Communist Party written with Fredrick Engels, "despotic inroads on the rights of property" would be "unavoidable as a means of entirely revolutionizing the mode of production." In other words, in order to meet their revolutionary goal, communists would need to destroy property rights. Among his ten requirements for a communism government, number five reads: "Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly." Control of the currency and credit framework means control of the population of any given nation because it allows a central authority to reduce the standard of living "scientifically." That is to say, they can create economic decline or collapse out of thin air. But why do this at all? Because financial desperation is the fastest way to create public dependence on a central authority. Every collectivist regime in history has used poverty and near-starvation, or government rationing and management of production, as a means to keep their populations under control. This is nothing new but for some reason many people think this strategy will never be attempted in America. They think the establishment "needs" the American economy intact. They are simply delusional. When the government and the elites behind government become everyone's Mommy and Daddy and the sole providers for the means of survival, it is unlikely that the citizenry will try to rebel. That is to say, people rarely bite the hand that feeds them. So, central banks and their corporate and political partners follow the Marxist model and seek to become the hand that feeds; by hook, by crook or by financial collapse if necessary. I have covered this agenda of central banking and the Fed in many articles the past year, but what we now face is the inevitability of Fed rate hikes. Yet I still see many analysts in the mainstream and in the alternative media who refuse to admit the chances are high that the central bankers will again engage in a rate hike demolition, only this time they are unlikely to have mercy as they did in 2018. What has changed since the last tightening cycle? Well, in 2022 we now have immediate and obvious stagflation with price inflation of most necessities hitting 40-year highs. This is something the alternative media has been warning about for some time and now the moment has arrived. Forget about the CPI print, it's truly irrelevant and doesn't even account for food, housing and energy. What matters is the average American's wallet and how much it is being drained. Unfortunately, it's only going to get worse. The Fed has created a Catch-22 situation in which inflation will hit hard regardless of whether they hike rates. Get ready for the yield curve to flatten again and for long term Treasury bonds to be dropped by most foreign investors. Also, get ready for the value of the dollar to plummet further, after a short initial spike, as stocks fall. I believe the Fed will stick with rate hikes this time because they have to at least be seen as "trying" to do something about inflation - the same inflation the Fed themselves created through over a decade of fiat money printing and easy credit. Price inflation will be aggressive this year and going into next year regardless of what the Fed does. Costs are going to rise exponentially for most people. This does not mean that we will be dealing with Weimar-style inflation with wheelbarrows full of Benjamins to buy a loaf of bread. I'm betting we would see government price controls before that happens (which will trigger mass shortages of goods). However, it doesn't take much in terms of price spikes to cause a breakdown. An increase of 50% in overall costs would crush a large number of U.S. households and make them desperate for aid, perhaps in the form of Universal Basic Income and ultimately a complete sea change over to some form of digital currency. The Fed has used interest rate hikes into economic weakness in the past, including at the onset of the Great Depression. We have also seen the Fed increase interest rates as high as 12.3% as they did during the inflationary crisis of 1974. These hikes crushed a lot of small and medium businesses at the time. In fact, my own grandfather had expanded his trucking company with multiple vehicles and millions of dollars and a large amount of credit in the early '70s, only to have his business destroyed by skyrocketing interest rates. The 1970s stagflation crisis was nothing compared to what we now face. Prepare today, because tomorrow will be too late The conclusion is obvious - get prepared. Price inflation is already here and I believe climbing credit costs are on the way. Getting prepared means stocking staples now that you and your family use regularly. Buy at the lower prices of today so you don't have to buy at the much higher prices of tomorrow. If you have debt I suggest dealing with it now if you can, and don't take on any new debt if you can help it. Do not expect that borrowing at fixed rates today will assure you fixed rates tomorrow. Most importantly, organize with like-minded people in your community. Trade must decentralize and localize to survive stagflation, and each community is going to need networks of producers and marketplaces to facilitate the shift. We can no longer rely on the supply chain and the global economy; as a culture we will have to relearn how to provide for ourselves and our loved ones. Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: Crack pipes and crack pots - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) have introduced the “Preventing Illicit Paraphernalia for Exchange Systems Act,” also known as the PIPES Act. This legislation is “To prohibit the use of Federal funds for local substance use disorder services for the purchase of sterile needles or syringes for the injection of illegal drugs, or to procure, supply, or distribute pipes, cylindrical objects, or other paraphernalia that can be used to smoke, inhale, or ingest narcotics.” Now, one might wonder why in the world would such a bill even need to be introduced? The short answer is because the Biden Administration, in all of its wisdom, got their hand caught in the taxpayer cookie jar to the tune of some $30 million. Yes, you read it correctly—a $30 MILLION federal grant program for what White House press secretary Jen Psaki said would be distributed among drug addicts to promote hygiene and reduce the risk of spreading HIV and hepatitis. The explanation comes on the heels of a Department of Health and Human Services source who told the Washington Free Beacon that the Biden Administration was going to spend the money in part to fund the distribution of crack pipes to drug addicts as part of its plan to advance racial equality. The Free Beacon reported that a spokesman for the agency said the kits will provide pipes for users to smoke crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and “any illicit substance.” This led to the HHS having to cover its tracks with a statement saying that “no federal funding will be used directly or through subsequent reimbursement of grantees to put pipes in safe smoking kits.” But Psaki’s further clarifications said it was misinformation that crack pipes would be included in the safe smoking kits. She confirmed, however, the program, “is focused on harm reduction strategies, including prioritizing the use of fentanyl test strips and clean syringes.” So, the Free Beacon says HHS told it that crack pipes were part of the “safe smoking kits.” Psaki says crack pipes were never part of the “safe smoking kits.” But she confirmed that syringes are part of the “safe smoking kits.” In fact, the HHS Notice of Funding Opportunity specifies the requirement for clean syringes, safe sex kits and safe smoking kits/supplies. All this language doesn’t prevent grantees from providing crack pipes. That’s why Manchin and Rubio introduced legislation to prohibit them. The legislation also prohibits “purchase of sterile needles or syringes for the injection of illegal drugs”—something seemingly overlooked in the whole crack pipe drama. Supply crack pipes to drug addicts to get them to stop taking drugs and destroying their lives. Same kind of nonsense that criminal activity will cease if there are no police to enforce laws. Or banning guns without considering that it takes someone to pull the trigger. Ecclesiastes 10:2 says, “A wise man’s heart directs him toward the right; but a fool’s heart directs him toward the left.” There you have it. This is just an example of the same old leftist crack pot politicians. Say it with me…Stupidocrisy. Daily Devotion: What Are You Building On? - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. —Matthew 13:19 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/what-are-you-building-on/ - Listen Some people get excited about a lot of different things. They’re into the latest fad or the newest this or that. But then they suddenly abandon it and move on to whatever is next. The same thing can happen in a person’s relationship with God. Sometimes people will say something along the lines of, “I tried the whole Christianity thing, and it didn’t work for me.” No, actually they never built their life on Christ. They had an emotional experience. If it was a real conversion, they still would be walking with the Lord. Jesus described people like this in the parable of the sower when He said, “But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles” (Matthew 13:20–21 NKJV). As Christians, we are all persecuted in some way, shape, or form. In fact, it’s the mark of a true Christian. As 2 Timothy 3:12 reminds us, “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (NKJV). Christianity isn’t like a product that works for some and not for others. Christianity, simplified, is a relationship with Christ himself. I think one of the reasons people fall away is because they’ve built their faith on the wrong foundation. There’s only one foundation to build your faith on, and it is Christ and Christ alone. Don’t build your spiritual life on a church in and of itself. Don’t build your spiritual life on another person or on a pastor or spiritual leader, because people will let you down. Instead, build your life on Christ. He will sustain you and be there for you. FROM THE HEART Let Us Make the Short Time We have Left, Count for ALL of Eternity!
