Apocalypse Now – Pete Garcia - https://www.rev310.net/post/apocalypse-now
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:6-8 (Emphasis mine) If you’re anything like me, attending a church that pretends bible prophecy doesn’t exist, can be a weekly exercise in frustration. However, I’ve come to think about it as my mission field where my job is not only to proselytize to the lost but also to wake up the sleeping-saved. Unfortunately, with the way the world is going these days, my job is finally starting to get a little easier. It has become rather apparent that 21st century Western Christendom has largely regressed into a theological dumpster fire. With an ever-evolving world of technology and rapidly decaying cultural norms, congregations and denominations across the nation who are not grounded in God’s word, are wandering off the theological reservation at an alarming rate. Either they are busying themselves by tilting at social justice windmills (as popularized by Don Quixote and mainstream propaganda), or they are no longer content remaining within the boundaries of traditional Christianity. Therefore, the irony is not lost on me that at a time when the greatest prophetic signs are coming to pass, a majority of Christians are either too sleepy or too disinterested to bother. While the sum total of all the varying shades of heresy and apostasy we could talk about exceeds the scope of this particular brief, there are five primary categories of Christians I would like to address. For all their differences, all of these groups all share a common thread with regards to how they view and understand Christianity- and that is in how they handle the topic of eschatology (or the study of last things). Group 1: Pre-Wrath- Post Tribulation believers. Many of the more rural and/or isolated churches have come to embrace a bunker-mentality believing they can somehow ride out the coming hell-on-earth with their canned beans and shotguns. They are witnessing the rapid decay of our world and have been falsely led to believe they will have to ‘endure to the end’ (or halfway) in order to receive their rapture. Group 2: Kingdom Now believers. Many within the more heterodox-charismatic circles (i.e., health and wealth, new apostolic reformation, and prosperity gospel groups) believe America is on the brink of revival. They believe it is their job to set the conditions for Christ to return. While these groups vary on a lot of things, they all seem to be drinking the same purple, post-millennial Kool-Aid. Group 3: Amillennial/Preterist believers. The majority of modern denominations have begun the lemming-like, suicidal march over the cliff of theological orthodoxy in their transition away from traditional Christianity. These denominations generally tend to lean left (politically), and would never utter the words prophecy or eschatology within the confines of their dwindling congregations unless it was to slander it. They generally tend to abhor Bible prophecy (and those who believe it). Group 4: Luke-Warm believers. These tend to be generously intermingled with Group 3. These are the believers who, for the most part, ride the middle-ground of the Christian life. They like going to church, and even better, being seen going to church, but don’t want people thinking they are “too religious.” They know just enough of the Bible to be dangerous, but not enough to contend for the faith when it matters. If there were an eschatological group we could put them in, it would be the “it will all work out in the end” camp. Assessment And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:27-28 Just thinking about the glaring divergence within Christianity today got me thinking about how polar opposite it was to the first-century church. There are many prominent Christian teachers and leaders today who routinely teach that we should not study prophecy at all. For them, it is a waste of time and energy. Instead, they say, we need to spend more time trying to be inclusive and diverse and having conversations about ways the Church can accommodate the shifting values in our culture. They earnestly think we need to turn our focus away from heaven and back to the earth, so we can learn how to be better people. Unfortunately, this has led many denominations down the rabbit holes of critical race theory, LGBTQ+ normalization, open borders, socialism, and many other distractions. But as history has borne out, we know the early church was very fruitful (obviously right, since we are still here some two thousand years later). But what made the early church so successful? What was it about them that caused Christianity to spread like a wildfire throughout the largely pagan Mediterranean? I think the answer to this was their unified belief in apocalypticism. It was the very fervent belief that Christ would soon return, and given that knowledge, decided to live with that idea at the very center of everything they did…and it showed. Apocalypticism is the belief that this world will end, usually in dramatic fashion as foretold in some prophecy. As a description of end-times beliefs, widely varied types of apocalypticism are found in different religious traditions. Even within a specific sect, there can be significant differences of opinion over details of the coming apocalypse and when it will occur. The early church was not as divided over how they believed the end would come as we are today. In fact, we don't really see the paradigm shift away from premillennialism (or chiliasm) until after the Edict of Milan in 313AD. The reason for this was the early church still had the apostles alive who routinely helped guide and steer them back into the truth. When the apostles were gone, they had the disciples of the apostles. By then, much of what would become the New Testament had been distributed vis a vis multiplicity throughout Christendom. [Author's Note: please read this fantastic article Theology Adrift: The Early Church Fathers and Their Views of Eschatology for an in-depth discussion on the topic] When we read through the account of Acts, beginning in chapter 1, we see there was some initial confusion on the disciple’s part who thought the resurrection would trigger the arrival of the Kingdom as promised throughout the Old Testament. However, Christ gently corrected their understanding regarding the subject of the kingdom and did so without rebuking them for asking the question, as "America's Pastor" erroneously taught. An even greater testimony of this first-century apocalyptic harmony was in the fact they largely didn't have a New Testament (at least for the first twenty years or so). All they had to go on was the Old Testament prophets, Christ's teachings, the apostles, and the Holy Spirit. In fact, Jesus' parting words (knowing the last days would still be a great deal later) told them to get busy sharing the Good News with an increasingly outward focus- first Jerusalem, then Judea, then Samaria, and then to the ends of the earth. Alternatively, what was the increasing fallout like toward the end of the first century when Christ hadn’t yet returned? Was Jesus to blame for “leading people on” as if He would return within days, weeks, months, years? Clearly, the Apostle Paul thought He would return in his lifetime. Clearly, the men and women who watched the death, burial, and post-resurrection appearances by Christ, must have thought the end was at hand, hence, the timing-based questions posed to Jesus in both the Olivet Discourse and in Acts 1:6-8. Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11 Side note: I believe this message by the two angels served as both a directional point of reference (where Jesus would be) and as a proviso in how He would return. Anyone who would later come along claiming to be Christ and didn’t arrive in like manner (i.e., personally descending from the sky) should have their messianic claims immediately disqualified. To be fair, Jesus never told them the end would come in the first century. In fact, when you go back through certain parables and in the Upper Room Discourse (John 14-16), you start to see a pattern with His language indicating "the master" only returning after a long journey. Furthermore, when Jesus' inner circle of disciples had asked Him when the Temple would be destroyed, what the signs would be, and when the end of the age would come (Matt. 24), Jesus began listing things and events that seemed to imply much time would first have to transpire.
Even still, what was more pressing to the early church was the promise of the blessed hope, especially in light of the growing persecution from both the Romans and the Sanhedrin. These double-edged attacks must have served as Satan’s attempt to both crush the early church, as well as divide the Jewish people from their Christian heritage. Then the sacking of Jerusalem, the destruction of the Jewish Temple, and the beginning of the Jewish diaspora in 70AD would have clearly added fuel to the apocalyptic fire. Needless to say, the first century was rife with apocalypticism. You and I would have thought the same thing had we been living through those days. Conclusion And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:18-20 (emphasis mine) Now, given all the supernatural and cataclysmic events of the first century, as well as the growing persecution, confusion, and skepticism as time wore on, it only makes sense why God gave mankind the book of Revelation near the end of the first century. He wanted to ensure the early church (and us) knew He had not abandoned them. Furthermore, He wanted them to know and have clear guidance regarding what is to come. This is why He gave the last living apostle, John, the book of Revelation. This is also why the book of Revelation (or the Apocalypse of Jesus Christ) is the only book in the Bible in which God gives special blessings to those who read and understand it. As cryptic and scary as the book of Revelation is often portrayed to be, the name Revelation itself comes from the Greek word apokalypsis (ἀποκάλυψις). Apocalypse simply means a revealing or a revelation. In this case, God is revealing to mankind His plans for the future. He even divided the book up into three sections for us so we could understand it easier (Rev. 1:19). These sections are: what John saw (chap. 1), what is now (chap. 2-3), and what is to come (chap. 4-22). Similar to the first century, we are once again, living in prophetically charged times. After nearly 2,000 years, there is even more confusion, skepticism, and outright scoffing about our Lord’s return. Christendom is divided like no other time in history, especially on how and when Christ will return. Not to give the devil his due, but it is a testament to Satan’s cunning strategy in how successful he has been in confusing the Christians in these last days. So successful has he been that only a small handful of believers would even be watching and waiting for Christ's return (reminiscent of Christ's birth). Similarly, there is also much confusion about how the end comes because scoffing and skepticism have crept into the churches disguised as higher criticism and liberal progressivism. Much false hope has also been dealt by foolish date setting, as well as false claims of revival and restoration as if we can somehow will the kingdom back to the earth in our own power. Although a kingdom is coming, it won’t be anything the church can do to bring it to the earth. In fact, there are so many doctrines of demons floating around today, it is a testament to the Holy Spirit's power that anyone is watching at all. All of these devilish doctrines are designed specifically to attack the authority of the Bible and dismiss with the utmost extreme, the possibility of Christ’s promised return. It reminds me of the quote by Phil Johnson in which he said, "The gospel’s most dangerous earthly adversaries are not raving atheists who stand outside the door shouting threats and insults. They are church leaders who cultivate a gentle, friendly, pious demeanor but hack away at the foundations of faith under the guise of keeping in step with a changing world.” Ironically, these wolves in sheep clothing, through their soft-spoken belittling of Bible prophecy, have become guilty of fulfilling the very prophecy Peter gives us in the third chapter of his second epistle. Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” As previously mentioned, there are five categories of believers in these last days. The fifth category is the faithful remnant who are eagerly watching and awaiting His return. We may not agree on every specific point, but if we believe Christ has to return for the church before the Tribulation (Daniel's 70th Week) begins, then we are holding to the only, biblical, explanation for how the end begins. While our blessed hope is not rooted in the sensational headlines or in the rapid decline we see dismantling our world, but in the very promise of Jesus, who said, when these things begin to happen, look up, lift up your heads, for your redemption draws near (Luke 21:27). Christianity is, by its very nature, apocalyptic. Just as there was a definite beginning, there will be a definite end to life as we know it. Furthermore, we expect the end to come because God's word spends nearly 30% of its literary real-estate telling us it will come. Those believers who either deny or pervert this truth will suffer the consequences (Rev. 3:3). We are told not just to watch, but to eagerly watch and wait for His return. We can still do this and occupy until He returns. Let us be the good stewards and servants of our master, and He will reward our faithfulness accordingly. And you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. Luke 12:36-38 Poking God in The Eye - Biden Administration Supporting PA Claims To Jerusalem – Eugene Kontorovich - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=4999 The Biden administration is trying to partially undo one of Israel's greatest diplomatic achievements of recent decades--the recognition of Israel's sovereignty over all of Jerusalem by the United States, followed by numerous other countries. The good news is unlike many diplomatic attacks, the Israeli government has the power to stop this one. The United States is pushing to open up a new diplomatic office in Jerusalem--one that would be directed to the Palestinian Authority. The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem already provides consular services to the Palestinians. It is unheard of for a country to have an independent consulate in the same city where it already has an embassy. The point of creating a separate consulate is to undermine former U.S. President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem. But under international law, the United States would need Israel's permission for this move. The United States does not want to open a consulate merely to have a place for diplomatic liaisons with the P.A. If that were all they wanted, they could easily accomplish it by opening a mission in Abu Dis or Ramallah--where most other countries conduct their relations with the P.A. Or they could reopen the Palestinian mission in Washington, D.C., which Trump also closed. By instead demanding that Israel accede to a consulate in Jerusalem, the administration is showing that this is not just about having a convenient place for coffee with P.A. leader Mahmoud Abbas. Indeed, the purpose of opening the consulate is to recognize Palestinian claims to Jerusalem. If the P.A. has no legitimate claim to Jerusalem, there can be no reason to have a consulate there. To be sure, this is why opening the consulate is the main Israel-related policy demand of radically anti-Israel Rep. Ilhan Omar. Point of fact: Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro made it clear prior to the last U.S. election that opening a separate consulate to the Palestinians would signal U.S. support for a Palestinian capital in that city. It is true that the United States had a consulate in Jerusalem since 1844, which was separate from the embassy. But that is because the United States had not recognized Jerusalem as even being in Israel (and obviously that consulate was established without any relation to the Palestinians). When Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital and moved the embassy, he had to close the consulate because its separate existence was simply inconsistent with this recognition. Reopening the consulate would thus turn the clock back to before the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem. The Biden administration knows it does not have domestic support to completely "unrecognize" Jerusalem--so it is catering to far-left demands by undoing the natural consequences of recognition. This would be a big deal: Since the creation of the state, no Israeli government, of any political inclination, has allowed the opening of a diplomatic mission not to Israel. To do so would be unprecedented. While there are a few European consulates in Jerusalem not accredited to Israel, these predate the creation of the state. If Israel allows the opening of such a consulate, it is hard to imagine how any country in the future would be diplomatically capable of opening an embassy in Jerusalem without opening a parallel mission to the P.A. This would then cement the notion that "both sides" have legitimate claims to the city. Fortunately, the current government understands how fundamental an issue this is and has strongly rejected the U.S. proposals. Foreign Minister Yair Lapid has expressed his opposition even more firmly than then-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did when the new U.S. administration first raised the issue. Netanyahu never had to withstand the significant ongoing pressure the U.S. State Department continues to exert. Lapid has made it clear that he understands this is not about a diplomatic office; it is about the status of Jerusalem. But the story is far from over, as the United States has recently doubled down on its insistence. The real test of Israel's government lies in action--in ensuring that no consulate opens even as Washington turns the diplomatic screws. The U.S. administration is attempting to intimidate Israel by describing the consulate as a "campaign promise" of Biden's--though it is hard to find any public statement on the issue by Biden during his election campaign. Israel's government must make it clear that sole Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem is not a "campaign promise"--it is a fundamental, obvious axiom. The Americans are indicating they may just try to brute-force the issue, declaring that they are opening the consulate and counting on Israel to go along. Israel needs to spell out now that it will not accept a fait accompli. A diplomatic mission needs many things from the host government, from diplomatic visas and license plates to security coordination. If Bennett and Lapid want to deter the United States from attempting hardball tactics, they should declare now that the government will in no way recognize a new diplomatic mission opened without its consent. Nearing Midnight: The Breakdown of Supply Chains – Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ All over the world, multiple supply chains have become dysfunctional. A common explanation for why they have broken down is that they all related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and once we get past it, all things will return to normal. Some are related to COVID-19, but many have zero connection to the virus. They have been building for years, and only now are they starting to manifest. The key reason is that people are making decisions that defy basic logic. There is a direct relation between evil and insanity. As the world gets more evil, people make more insane choices. For several years the price of uranium sold at $20 per pound even though it cost $60 to mine it. China and India are building dozens of reactors that will increase demand for a uranium market that already has a deficit between supply and demand. The price for uranium languished at $20 because the world decided nuclear power was bad, and few financial firms wanted to invest in this industry. Everyone in 2021 has suddenly realized that having electricity is a good thing, and so we now have a new love for nuclear power. The price of uranium is now at $40 per pound, and the stock prices of many uranium miners have risen several-fold. Since it will take many years to restore supply, the price of uranium could rise to $400 per pound. Germany is creating its own electrical production problem with its fixation on renewable energy sources like solar and wind. The German government wants renewables to cover 65 percent of the country’s electricity needs by 2030, a key target in Berlin’s campaign to drive down greenhouse gas emissions and help combat climate change. It has pledged to shut down the last nuclear power plants in 2022 and phase out coal power by 2038. The nation already has 30,000 wind turbines, and it is having trouble building any more. It has become difficult to find the right type of land to build wind farms. The power infrastructure doesn’t even allow for the flow of that much electricity. Germany’s transmission network can barely cope with the flow of electricity from the wind-intensive northern coast population centers and industrial regions further south. If Germany wants to reach the 65 percent renewables target, it will need at least 4GW new onshore wind capacity every year. This year we will probably not even manage 1GW. I fear Germany is setting itself up for a major power production crisis. A huge wind turbine collapsed just hours before it was due to be officially inaugurated. The turbine, whose rotor blades reach a height of 784 feet, toppled over last month in a forest near the western town of Haltern. Germany has cold winters that can produce bad winter storms. It would be a disaster if an ice storm locked up wind turbines for just a few days. It would be an apocalyptic nightmare if the weight of the ice caused thousands of turbines to collapse like the one near Haltern. Sometimes the breakdown in the supply chain results in too much of a product. In China, there is a massive overabundance of housing. All over China, there are thousands of high-rise apartment complexes that stand unfinished. An amazing 20% of all the apartments in China are currently empty. The giant real estate company Evergrande has been in the news because it faces bankruptcy. The firm has $300 billion in debt, built up from mania-levels of speculation in housing. If it goes under, it would be the largest bankruptcy in all of Asia. Beijing is allowing the debt-saddled property developer to fail because it realizes it needs to let the air out of the housing speculation bubble. It may turn out that what the government is really trying to do is let water out of a dam that is in the process of designation. The U.S. is currently having a record backlog of cargo ships at many of its ports. At the LA and Long Beach ports, it’s a particular problem because this is the main entry point for imports from China. On any day, there could be 75 to 90 ships stuck outside the port. Just a couple of years ago, it was unusual for more than one ship to wait for a berth. The standard explanation for the cargo ship bottleneck is that retailers are restocking from COVID-19 lockdowns. A better explanation would be that the government paid millions of people not to work, and we decided to fill our needs with greater imports from China. Our trade deficit with China only dipped a bit in 2020 because China had its own lockdowns. We import basic things like pet food, paper, and prescription drugs from China. It is amazing that people would gladly risk the health of their cat or dog with Chinese food standards. I looked through my kitchen shelves and was alarmed to find lemon juice and hand sanitizer produced outside the U.S. America has become addicted to imports because of laziness and greed. The only thing we should be importing is stuff that can’t be produced here. When we return at the end of the tribulation, I know we won’t recognize the world we left. It would probably still be true even without the supernatural plagues and nuclear warfare. Mankind is already on the path toward self-destruction. “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13, KJV). The “Year Ending In 1” Curse - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/the-year-ending-in-1-curse/ What I am going to share with you today is very strange. Just recently, a friend of mine named “Ben” suggested that I do some research on years ending in the number one. So I started to do some digging, and I just kept finding more stuff. In particular, there appears to be a pattern of great tragedies that keeps repeating every 20 years. I don’t know what it means, but it sure is odd. I will share what I have found, and you can decide for yourself what to make of it. 1841: President William Henry Harrison died from pneumonia while he was still in office. Many believe that his death was caused by “the Curse of Tippecanoe”, and I will explain what that is later in this article. 1861: This is the year when the Civil War began, and it lasted until 1865. 1861 was also the year when Abraham Lincoln first became president, and he was later assassinated in 1865 while he was still in office. 1881: President James Garfield was assassinated while he was still in office. 1901: President William McKinley was assassinated while he was still in office. 1921: Warren Harding became the 29th president of the United States in 1921, and he died while he was still in office in 1923. This was also the year when Adolf Hitler became the chairman of the Nazi Party. 1941: This was the year when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and the U.S. entered World War II. President Franklin D. Roosevelt began another term of his presidency in 1941, and he later died of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1945 during his fourth term in office. 1961: This was the year when John F. Kennedy entered the White House and the Cold War really kicked into high gear. It was the year when construction of the Berlin Wall commenced and it was the year of the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion. Of course the Bay of Pigs ultimately led to the Cuban missile crisis in 1962 and the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963. 1981: This was the year that Ronald Reagan was inaugurated. Later that same year, he was shot and almost killed by an assassin. 2001: This was the year that George W. Bush was inaugurated. Later that same year, 9/11 changed the world forever. 2021: This was the year when Joe Biden entered the White House. This has also been the year of the fall of Afghanistan, vaccine mandates, an unprecedented crisis on the southern border, “Bidenflation” and widespread shortages. And needless to say, this year is still far from over. So if there is a clear pattern in what I have just shared with you, what could have caused it? Well, some historians have pointed to a curse that was placed upon William Henry Harrison before his death. Because Harrison caused so much immense suffering for his people, a Shawnee leader known as “Tenskwatawa” placed a curse on all future U.S. presidents that would be elected in years ending in a zero… While governor of the Indiana Territory, Harrison negotiated a treaty with Indigenous peoples in which the Shawnee ceded large tracts of land to the U.S. government. Angered by what he considered Harrison’s unfair tactics in negotiating the deal, Tecumseh and his brother organized a group of local tribes and attacked Harrison’s army, thus starting the Battle of Tippecanoe. During the War of 1812, Harrison furthered reinforced his anti-Indigenous reputation when he defeated the British and the tribes that aided them in the Battle of the Thames. This additional defeat and the loss of more land to the American government is purportedly what drove Tecumseh’s brother, Tenskwatawa—known by the Shawnee as “The Prophet”—to place a curse of death on all future U.S. presidents elected in years ending in a zero. And it is certainly true that seven U.S. presidents in a row that were elected in a “zero year” did die in office following that evil curse. The following comes from Wikipedia… The Curse of Tippecanoe (also known as Tecumseh’s Curse or the 20-Year Presidential Curse) is the supposed pattern of deaths in office of presidents of the United States who won the elections in years that are evenly divisible by 20,[1] beginning with the 1840 election. Because of the timing of presidential elections, these are also those taking place in years ending with 0. The presidents fitting this description were William Henry Harrison (elected in 1840), Abraham Lincoln (1860), James A. Garfield (1880), William McKinley (1900), Warren G. Harding (1920), Franklin D. Roosevelt (1940) and John F. Kennedy (1960). Ronald Reagan (1980) was seriously wounded by gunshot, but survived more than 15 years after his second term. George W. Bush (2000) survived his terms in office, despite an assassination attempt. Thomas Jefferson (1800) and James Monroe (1820) preceded the supposed curse, and outlived their presidencies by 17 and 6 years, respectively. Since Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush did not die in office, does that mean that the Curse of Tippecanoe has now been broken? Perhaps. But tragic events have continued to happen in years ending in one that follow presidential elections that fall in years ending in zero. And I don’t have to tell any of you that Joe Biden was declared the victor of our most recent presidential election in a year ending in zero, and he was inaugurated in a year ending in one. Without a doubt, this has already been a historically bad year, and we still have a big chunk of it left. So there is certainly lots of time for even more tragic events to happen. We have entered such a chaotic time in our history, and it is at this critical juncture that Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. finds himself in the White House. It has only been about 9 months, and already so many horrible things have happened during his time in office. This year has definitely felt “cursed” so far, and the months ahead are not looking promising either. Daily Jot: Mandates as a civil rights issue - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com In what is becoming a crucial civil rights issue, vaccine mandates are being opposed across the country. The Biden Administration ought to sit up and take notice that police, health workers, teachers, transportation workers and a host of unorganized pockets of citizens are standing up for their rights in a true to life “my body, my choice” moment. Meanwhile, Biden’s Build Back Better economy is fraught with inflation, shortages due to supply chain disruptions, and the inability for businesses to find workers. The back-door federal vaccine mandate using Occupational Safety and Health Administration fines to foment a “no vax, no work policy” may create the perfect storm of consequences against all American citizens. The Biden talking points are full of hypocrisy, if not outright lies. Biden himself said that the government will not mandate vaccines and masks. This was repeated on July 23 by his press secretary Jen Psaki. Which was repeated a week later by the Director of the CDC Rochelle Walensky. Then in August, chief COVID czar Anthony Fauci said, “you’re not going to get mandates centrally from the federal government.” Then in September, Biden announced his back door attack on the unvaccinated and antibodied (those who have survived COVID)—that the government would require all employees, government contractors, and businesses of 100 employees or more to be vaccinated. If not, they will be fined out of existence. Meantime, anyone who tries to blow the whistle on vaccine efficacy or safety is censored by media platforms. There are legitimate research and CDC statistics now indicating that vaccine efficacy and safety are not as advertised. Airline pilots, who could be susceptible to blood clots, are at risk because the vaccines can cause thrombosis. Is it coincidence that thousands of flights are being canceled or delayed at Southwest Airlines after a vaccine mandate deadline was announced? The pilot’s union is fighting the mandate. Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) issued an executive order banning enforcement of any vaccine mandate. Other states may follow. Notwithstanding, pockets of resistance are being organized across the country. Even doctors and nurses are pushing back as hospital systems dig in by trying to enforce vaccine mandates on employees and patients, using the “no vax, no work” policy or fear factor against patients. This is become a civil rights issue. If not handled properly, it will also be an economic issue at a time when the economy is fragile and pressured by Biden’s and the Democratic Party’s toxic policies. IF this is a civil rights issue, then it is supported by the First Amendment (free speech/religious expression) as well as the Fourth Amendment (right to privacy) and the 10th Amendment (conveying to the states or the people powers not enumerated in the Constitution). If Biden and the Democrats are successful in pulling this off, the precedent will be established that any dictatorial power can be advanced on the basis of “health and safety” of the public, including your faith expression. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.” Now, more than ever: Speak boldly and stand. Daily Devotion: When You Face Opposition - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? —Exodus 5:22 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/when-you-face-opposition/ - Listen Moses knew it wasn’t going to be easy. But I think he was a little shocked by how unresponsive Pharaoh was. Despite the many miracles that God did through Moses, Pharaoh’s heart became hard. So what did Moses do? Disappointed and disillusioned, he called on the Lord. He said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all” (Exodus 5:22–23 NKJV). That’s a pretty honest prayer. And by the way, there’s nothing wrong with complaining or lamenting in your prayers, as long you’re crying out to God and not against Him. It’s okay to say, “Lord, I don’t get this. I don’t know why You’ve allowed this to happen to me.” That’s exactly what Moses did. Moses discovered for himself that being in the will of God doesn’t mean you’ll be free from opposition. Sometimes we think that once we commit our lives to Christ and choose to follow Him that we’ll have green lights and smooth sailing. Instead, we find ourselves facing opposition. We experience pushback from unexpected places. It may be from our families, our friends, and certainly from nonbelievers. That’s called spiritual warfare. It’s been said that conversion has made our hearts a battlefield. The moment you become a Christian, you enter into a spiritual battle. Either you will choose to fight and win, or you will choose not to fight and ultimately lose. Either you will gain ground in this battle, or you will lose ground. There are no other options. So when you face opposition, it doesn’t mean you’re doing the wrong thing. It probably means you’re doing the right thing. America is in more danger of falling than at any time in its history. But I believe Bible prophecy predicts this very decline. From this point on, we believers have to get serious. We are going to face discouragement, disillusionment and, most certainly, persecution in the time between now and the Rapture. But don't be discouraged or disillusioned. The coming turmoil will provide us unrivaled opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel. So be ready to share your faith and your hope with those who need Christ.
