On June 9, 2022, the House Select Committee held a staged meeting under the direction of a TV executive to present a partial and distorted picture of what happened when people entered the capitol on Jan. 6, 2020 (Democrat law professor, Alan Dershowitz, called it “a kangaroo court” and “a fixed jury”). Some officials reported that this committee has just one goal in mind: Stopping former Pres. Trump from running in 2024. In a TV interview on Jan. 10, 2022, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives said there is more to it than that. According to this member of Congress, before the first meeting of the House Select Committee was held on June 9, 2022, the committee started rewriting the rules for the next election to legalize some of the tactics they used to steal the election in 2020. A pre-determined response means the committee has a pre-determined outcome, and it has at least two goals, not one:
For those who might not believe this, it will be confirmed if the House Select Committee ultimately recommends changes to U.S. election laws. Some of those changes legalize corrupt practices that were used to steal the 2020 election. Hopefully, the Rapture will happen first, but voters will have no hope of changing things in Washington if this scheme to secure one-party rule succeeds. In addition to honest elections, many things are at stake (freedom of speech; freedom of religion; our Judeo-Christian heritage; stopping abortion; stopping the LGBTQ agenda, stopping the woke culture, etc.). Here are more stories that recently made the news. One, concerning election fraud: on June 8, 2022, it was reported that Mark Zuckerberg gave millions of dollars to a group that was involved in suspicious activities during the 2020 election. That group is planning to spend $80 million on the elections in the next five years, and they are planning to start as soon as the upcoming 2022 midterms. My Thoughts: I wonder if this is why it is so hard to reign in social media. Two, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on June 1, 2022, Israeli Prime Min. Naftali Bennett announced that Israel plans to deploy its new “Iron Beam” laser-defense system next year. For about $2, Israel will be able to shoot down a drone, mortar, rocket, or anti-tank missile. Bennett called it a “global game-changer.” God said, “No weapon that is formed against thee (Israel)” will prosper (Isa. 54:17). The bombs, rockets, and missiles of Iran and her allies will damage Israel, but they will not succeed in destroying Israel. Three, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: following Israel’s criticism of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Russia started calling the Golan Heights occupied Syrian territory. On June 6, 2022, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) fired missiles at targets near Damascus. Hours later, Russia and Syria responded by flying joint air patrols near the Golan Heights along Syria’s border with Israel. Russian and Syrian jets and bombers flying near the Golan Heights along Israel’s border is a major escalation of the conflict between Israel and Syria. Four, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: the Israeli military has spent about a month training for an attack on Iran and for a counterattack by Iran and her allies. In addition to this month of intensive training (now over), on June 8, 2022, it was reported that:
More: One prophecy teacher recently said Israel has informed several nations, including the U.S., that the Israeli government now believes it has a military plan that will succeed. The big question is whether Israel will attack Iran and when. It is possible that only God knows. Just a Reminder: Israel attacking Iran is not the Battle of Gog and Magog, but Iran has threatened to retaliate, and a retaliation that included Russia, Turkey, and the other prophesied allies would be the Battle of Gog and Magog. Israel attacking Iran could also trigger the destruction of Damascus (Isa. 17) and perhaps a war with Israel’s neighbors (Psa. 83). The fulfillment of these prophecies would be a clear indication that the latter years and latter days have arrived (the very end of the age). Five, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on June 10, 2022, Syria reported that Israeli rockets struck several targets near Damascus, and there was significant damage to civilian and military runways at the Damascus International Airport. All flights, incoming and outgoing, were suspended until the runways can be repaired. Russia condemned the “provocative airstrikes” on Syrian territory, called them “absolutely unacceptable,” and demanded that Israel stop this “vicious practice.” Israel won’t stop because Iran has been flying weapons and supplies (missiles, GPS systems, etc.) to that airport for use by Iranian forces and allies against Israel. Six, concerning Jerusalem: on June 12, 2022, it was reported that sources in the U.S. State Dept. have confirmed that the Biden administration intends to open an Office of Palestinian Affairs in Jerusalem without Israeli permission. Biden intends for this office to carry out the duties of an embassy without being under the U.S. embassy. According to the article and U.S. Sen. Bill Hagerty, Biden’s actions are a violation of international law. According to the U.S. ambassador to Israel under Trump, Biden is setting the stage for an attempt to give the Palestinians control over part of Jerusalem and to implement the Two-State Solution without Israel’s permission. If this is true, and I don’t doubt it:

Now consider this: If the 13 amendments that Pres. Biden wanted the WHO to adopt at its May 22-28 meeting (the decision on 12 of them has been delayed until this fall) had passed, Ghebreyesus could call monkeypox a global pandemic and force every nation on earth to impose lockdowns, vaccine mandates, passports, tracking of everyone, or whatever he wants on their people. It was, they explained, something called the "oil weapon." The Arab countries were sitting upon lots of oil and could raise prices sharply and without warning if they were affronted by something that Israel said or did. They did exactly this in the fall of 1973, when Israel fought another war of survival against a combined Arab military force. During that conflict, the Arab exporting nations hiked the price of oil by 70% and cut back on production in a bid to wean those countries supportive of Israel away from the Jewish state. From this episode, a narrative was born. Israel was a plucky new arrival on the international stage, equipped with a capable army and a highly educated, motivated population, but not much more. Meanwhile, its Arab adversaries were soaked in oil revenues and reaping the political as well as the economic benefits of this advantage. So, while the 1973 war proved that Arab ambitions of wiping Israel from the map would not be easily realized, at the same time it underlined what many people believed would be a permanent situation: Arab wealth and the reliance of Western countries on Arab oil meant that Israel's interests would be an afterthought as far as international diplomacy was concerned. It's very rare for any situation to be frozen in space and time, instead of evolving and changing. Nearly 50 years after the 1973 war, the Middle East's resources of energy are still highly prized by outside consumers, but the advantage is no longer weighted entirely to the Arab side. Last week, what the European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen called a "special moment" was marked in the Egyptian capital of Cairo. A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was agreed between the European Union, Israel and Egypt to enable the export of Israeli natural gas to European nations for the very first time. The E.U. is rightly concerned with reducing its dependency on natural gas supplies from Russia. At the moment, about 40% of the natural gas consumed in Europe comes from Russia, providing Moscow with badly needed leverage at a time when it is facing Western ire over its brutal invasion of Ukraine. Israel is one of the countries to whom the E.U. has turned for a solution. The signing ceremony in Cairo was "even more impressive when one looks at the string of significant agreements we have signed in the past year, positioning Israel and the Israeli energy and water economy as a key player in the world," remarked Karine Elharrar, Israel's Energy Minister. Five decades ago, the notion that an Israeli politician could say words like these with a straight face would have been laughed at. No more. The deal is worth $290 million annually and will draw from the two natural-gas fields off Israel's Mediterranean coastline, which contain an estimated 690 billion cubic meters of natural gas. By the standards of past energy deals, this one is relatively modest in fiscal terms, but it's a firm platform to build on. The once outlandish idea of Israel as one of the world's energy powers is gradually taking shape. That's why it's important for Israel to grasp the political advantages of its new status, which are potentially far greater than photo opportunities, warm smiles and mutual reassurances with E.U. leaders. Prior to the signing of the deal in Cairo, von der Leyen visited both Jerusalem and Ramallah for talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. While in Ramallah, she announced alongside Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh that following a vote of the European Commission the previous evening, more than $200 million of aid to the Palestinian Authority that had been frozen would now be released. Unlike the natural-gas deal, this was a retrograde step. The reason that the funding was frozen in 2021 was because Brussels had finally registered that its money was being spent in Palestinian schools where children's textbooks are filled with grotesquely anti-Semitic images and messages; math problems featuring suicide bombers, grammatical exercises where the sentence under examination involved an act of violence against Israelis; and, of course, historical and religious lessons emphasizing that Jews have no historical right to the land and demonizing them as colonists and interlopers. According to the Palestinians, the E.U. funds are being disbursed free of any conditions. The Europeans themselves, however, have not made this claim. As IMPACT-se, an Israeli NGO that monitors the Palestinian curriculum, pointed out, given "the importance of P.A. textbook reform to the [European] Parliament and Commission, one can only assume that a partial funding freeze over textbook incitement remains on the table." If the E.U. wants to reduce its dependency on Russian gas by turning to Israel as an alternative supplier, then Israel is entitled to attach some political conditions to the arrangement. Refraining from financing an educational system that encourages Palestinians to attack and murder Israeli citizens should be, one would think, an uncomplicated decision for the Europeans. In attaching this particular condition, Israel would not be seeking a financial, territorial or any other advantage that might tempt another country in a similar position. It would merely be asserting, as it has done since its foundation, its right to be treated with respect as a sovereign state. The E.U. is committed to a two-state solution and to engineering the transformation of the P.A. into a fully-fledged state alongside Israel. Under the principle of "pay to play," the bloc needs to maintain its position as the main financial backer of the P.A. if it is to preserve its influence. But where the school textbooks are concerned, that principle is perhaps better understood as "pay to slay" because E.U. taxpayers have been subsidizing the violent rejectionism taught in Palestinian schools. Now that Israel has its own version of the oil weapon, there is no reason to tolerate that situation any longer. For extra punch, Time added the legend of “Last Call” under their logo masthead, but guess what? It actually is their “last call”, but in a way that none of them could ever comprehend. Pope Francis has marshalled 40 leaders of the world’s religions to preach the gospel of Gaia, protect Mother Earth, calling for ‘radical action’ to deal with the ‘unprecedented threat’ of Climate Change. Time Magazine says it’s the ‘last call’, and so it is. As of June 2022, the average price of a gallon of gasoline had doubled since January 2021. That’s a staggering rate of growth and completely unsustainable. For a lot of people in Washington, it’s just a matter of politics. But for the rest of us, it’s about life. Can you imagine what this does to a single mom or dad, struggling to get by? Think of what it does to an elderly person living on a fixed income when he or she spends almost a hundred dollars (maybe more) for a tank of gas? For one thing, it leaves less money to buy food — the cost of which is also going through the roof. The cost of everything is going up fast, and it looks like that trend will continue for at least the immediate future. The Federal Reserve’s response seems to be to take the nation into a recession to try and stop inflation. But that’s a little like killing a patient to get his blood pressure down. Yes, death is an absolute cure for high blood pressure, but it seems a little extreme. Somehow, they have to try to keep the economy moving forward while also getting inflation under control. It’s a job I don’t envy. Meanwhile, the stock market has been going down. Real estate values have been falling. Retail sales are in decline. And it looks like there will be increasing global shortages of everything from food to the fertilizers needed to grow that food. With stocks down, 401(k) and other investments are down among, not just for the rich, but for regular people. This is forcing many to delay long-planned retirements. All that’s bad news for the United States, but it’s also bad news for the world economy. Planet earth finds itself in an increasingly desperate financial situation. And that’s just one facet of the global condition. We could look at any number of other topics that are also discouraging or even depressing. But these things are merely the news. And the news changes day by day. The Good News in Christ Jesus, however, does not change. 2 Corinthians 1:18 (NKJV) says, “God is faithful.” His faithfulness does not fluctuate with the markets. His faithfulness is like a great rock — solid, dependable, something you can safely build on. His faithfulness does not change, but will remain eternally constant. In 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV), just two verses down, the Bible says, “All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen.” His promises do not depend on who occupies the White House or who sits on the Supreme Court. They depend only on the trustworthiness of Almighty God and the efficacy of the blood Jesus shed on the cross to save us from sin. When you hear the wind howling and the surf pounding, remember that if you are building your life on the firm foundation of Jesus and His word, He will care for you no matter what comes. The storms of life will pound into ruin those structures built on sand. Jesus warned about the dangers of building on unstable things — that is, building on anything less than Him and His word. But He also gave comfort to all who build their lives on Him. In Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) He said, “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” If you have not yet placed your life in His hands, it’s not too late. Meantime, all of America is suffering from high fuel prices and the resulting hyperinflation on food and consumer goods. Joe Biden has tirelessly worked since his first day in office to make good his campaign pledge to a climate activist in New Hampshire on Sept. 6, 2019, “I guarantee you we are going to end fossil fuel and I am not going to cooperate with them, OK?” Biden stopped the Keystone pipeline, rejoined the Paris Climate Accord making fuel production more costly because of unnecessary regulations, and cut back on oil and gas leases. In a June 14 letter to oil company executives, Biden blamed oil companies for price gouging Americans during time of war. Biden claimed that oil company profits have tripled since he took office. He showed a chart that indicated refining prices and profit margins sharply increasing since he took office. Then Biden said in his letter, “There is no question that Vladimir Putin is principally responsible for the intense financial pain the American people and their families are bearing.” He also blamed the COVID pandemic. And then he demanded that oil refiners increase their production. Kind of hard to do when he has limited the drilling of oil to refine. This letter appears to be a rabbit trail to divert America’s attention from Biden’s real goal of pushing fuel prices higher to force Americans to buy electric cars. It has been his plan all along to end fuel production. In a 2020 Democratic Party primary debate on CNN, Biden said, “No more subsidies for the fossil fuel industry. No more drilling including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill period. It ends. ”On May 24 during a press conference in Japan, Biden said: “[When] it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over.” On June 10, Biden’s special envoy for Climate Change John Kerry said there’s no need to drill for more oil and implied that anybody who disagrees should be censored, “We have to prevent a false narrative from entering into this.” Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said higher gas prices were a compelling case for buying electric cars, “If you filled up your EV (electric vehicle) and you filled up your gas tank with gasoline, you would save $60 per fill-up by going electric rather than using gasoline but it’s a very compelling case.” Granholm also admitted that she had recently served as director of an electric car company and held millions in the firm’s stock. See how this works? Kerry makes millions on his false climate change narrative. Granholm makes millions on electric cars. Biden’s family makes millions on energy deals with Ukraine and China. It was lunch time, and they were still sitting there. So, He turned to Philip and said, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” (John 6:5 NLT). Was Jesus really asking Philip for help, as if He didn’t know what to do? Clearly not. In fact, the next verse tells us, “He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do” (verse 6 NLT). Philip basically said it would require a small fortune to feed all those people. There was no way they could do it. Then Andrew said, “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?” (verse 9 NLT). This was a test. Could they trust God? Jesus already had performed miracles. They knew what He was capable of. But could they trust Him to provide food for a lot of hungry people? Apparently not because Andrew didn’t know what to do, and Philip didn’t know what to do. But Jesus multiplied those five barley loaves and two fish to feed 5,000 people, with twelve baskets of food left over (see verses 10–13). We might say His disciples didn’t pass that test. Yet haven’t we been in times of testing as well? A big financial issue comes up, and we wonder how we’re going to pay that unexpected bill. We wonder how we’re going to make ends meet. I can tell you that after walking with the Lord since the age of 17, God always has come through for me. And I believe that He will come through for you (see Philippians 4:19). But He will test us.
