At a recent press conference, White House Press Secretary, Jan Psaki, was asked about the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on prices in America. Psaki responded, “Standing up for our values is not without cost.” U.S. citizens need to realize that Biden’s values are not traditional Bible-based Christian values. Biden supports the UN Sustainable Development goals (abortion, the LGBTQ agenda, wealth redistribution, government control of production, UN control of schools, etc.).
Concerning Biden’s values, we must understand that he supports the New World Order (NWO), and those who support that want a global ethic that ignores Jesus, the cross, the Bible, the Ten Commandments, and Christianity. Biden’s values (the global ethic and the NWO) are playing a role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
So, the world is witnessing a struggle over two things: One, global power, and two, Global Values (the rise and structure of the ten regional leaders known as the Ten Kings, and the Global Ethic known as the one-world religion). If Russia gets away with expanding her regional group of nations before the Ten Kings arrive, China will quickly expand her regional group of nations. Just know that following the Battle of Gog and Magog, the EU region will be in control, and don’t expect Biden’s prayers to carry much weight with God because he is trying to establish a global ethic that ignores God. To be honest, I believe God has already started sending strong delusion upon some world leaders, and we see the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (wars and rumors of wars; hyperinflation, economic collapse, famine; pestilence) getting ready to charge out of the stall. The World Economic Forum (WEF) tells us that by 2030 we will own nothing and be happy under their God-rejecting world government. Many of the people in Ukraine now own nothing, but they are fearful, miserable, running for their lives, and wondering how they are going to take care of their children and themselves. Putin knows that the larger, more populous, more prosperous a regional group is, the more influence their leader (one of the Ten Kings) will be, and he wants his kingdom to be like the old Soviet Union. Two, enough wheat for one meal will cost the equivalent of a day’s wages during the Tribulation Period (Rev. 6:5-6). Russia and Ukraine are two of the world’s largest wheat producers. On Mar. 2, 2022, it was reported that Ukraine’s farmers are out of the fields, Ukraine’s ports are sealed off by Russian warships, and the price of wheat has soared to the highest level in 13 years. (More: On Mar. 4, 2022, it was reported that Hungary has announced a ban on all grain exports effective immediately.) (More: On Mar. 6, 2022, it was reported that the head of International Grains Council said the price of wheat has gone up 55% since one week before the Russian invasion of Ukraine started.) Three, concerning famine: depending on the source, fertilizer prices have tripled, fuel has more than doubled, some equipment repair parts are unavailable for months, and more. On Feb. 28, 2022, Michael Snyder, publisher of The Economic Collapse Blog, wrote that Russia is one of the world’s largest exporters of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (13% of America’s fertilizer comes from Russia). A reduction in the export of fertilizer will cause crop production to decline and food prices to soar. Here are some more reports.
Four, concerning Russian shipping, on Mar. 1, 2022, Britain and Canada banned all ships that are owned or flagged by Russia from using British and Canadian ports. On Mar. 2, 2022, it was reported that 3 of the largest shipping container companies in the world have temporarily suspended all non-essential deliveries (everything except food, medical and humanitarian supplies) to Russia. Five, it is common knowledge that world leaders are trying to punish Russia for invading Ukraine by applying severe economic sanctions (restrictions on Russia’s economy, banks, oligarchs, etc.). On Mar. 4, 2022, an article by Rev. Michael Bresciani, editor of new.americanprophet.org, was posted by canadafreepress.com that says, “There is coming a day when economic sanctions will become personal.” Bresciani rightly points out that Scripture teaches that everyone on earth will either participate in the global economic system by taking the Mark of the Beast or be sanctioned by it (denied the right to buy and sell). Economic sanctions are the tool that the Antichrist will use to try to subjugate everyone on earth, and they are being used to try to subjugate Putin and Russia right now. Six, concerning deceit and corruption in government: on Mar. 4, 2022, it was reported that U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker has ruled that 2 FBI agents accused of faking the kidnapping of Michigan Governor Whitmer and trying to pin it on 4 Michigan Militia members (the Wolverine Watchmen) must use their real names when the Watchmen’s trial begins. Deceit and corruption are characteristics of the coming world government. Seven, concerning the decline of America: on Mar. 8, 2022, it was reported that Biden tried to call the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to urge them to help contain surging oil prices, but they declined to take his call. Eight, on Feb. 25, 2022, Rev. Franklin Graham wrote these words of encouragement, “The chaos and destruction that mark the end times is actually an occasion to celebrate the soon return of our Lord and King…. So as you hear of the continuing chaos and turmoil that now marks our days, don’t yield for a moment to pessimism or hysteria. Straighten your back, lift up your head and look up, for your full redemption is about to take place. What a day that will be!” Finally, are you Rapture Ready? If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this. It is the conclusion I wrote to our book Discerners: Analyzing Converging Prophetic Signs for the End of Days I believe it is more relevant to this hour even than when it was published a few years ago. Certainly we are now nearer that spectacular moment when the Lord Jesus Christ will call us to Himself in an atomos of time. Our weekly column on the raptureready.com website is called “Nearing Midnight,” named so because we discern that planet earth has almost reached the midnight hour of the Church Age, or Age of Grace. Whereas the geopolitical humanist powers that be frame their view of human history’s closing minutes within their “Doomsday Clock,” we observe these fleeting times before Christ’s call to the Church by placing the template of Bible prophecy over the converging of prophetic stage-setting. The political scientists and other scientists can only guess at what will happen to the human race. Most all believe that humankind will meet its end from nuclear holocaust or by climate-change disasters. We who give total credence to what God’s Word has to say about the consummation of the age can know for certain, through a detailed preview by God, Himself, how the end of all things will unfold. We don’t know precisely when the end will come. We can know, however, the general time when it will begin to manifest. We can know for certain when the midnight hour of God’s prophetic timeline is approaching. The Lord Jesus gave His family (born-again believers) explicit instruction about how and when to discern the nearing midnight hour. And when you see all these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your head, for your redemption draws near. (Luke 21:28) Note that Jesus didn’t say to watch for when these things “come to pass.” He said “when these things begin to come to pass,” we are to “look up and lift up our heads, for our redemption is drawing near.” At that time, He will be on His way to rescue His Bride, the Church, from the carnage that is about to take place on earth. The blackness of the midnight hour will descend following that rescue of the Church. Seven years into the Tribulation, complete evil will have engulfed the planet with satanic darkness. The first bright gleaming that pierces that most horrendous time of all of human history will then burst through the billowing storm clouds of Armageddon. Brilliant light will part the heavens, and Christ and His army will appear. So, discerning the times in which we find ourselves is all-important to the believer. If it wasn’t possible to discern the times, Jesus wouldn’t have told us: “What I say unto one, I say unto all. Watch” (Mark 13:37). He promises in Revelation 3:10 that we’re not appointed to God’s wrath and will be kept out of the very hour of that wrath. So, what are the things the Lord forewarned would be taking place—beginning to come to pass—that we see happening at this very moment? Exactly what are the things for which we are to look? Remember, the whole Bible is the Word of God. And, Jesus is that Word (John 1:1). Every prophecy, whether already accomplished or yet to come, is attributable to Him. God, the Holy Spirit, inspired the Old and New Testament prophets to give the prophecies. So, we don’t have to consider just what the Lord Jesus, Himself, said by way of prophecy to discern the times in which we live. We can and must consider every prophecy yet to be fulfilled, presented in the Bible by all Bible prophets, as part of the process. I am of the camp that believes we’re seeing the stage being set for fulfillment of prophecy yet future rather than fulfillment itself. The one caveat concerns the nation Israel. My view is that Israel again being a nation after millennia of dispersion across the world is fulfilled prophecy. That said, however, everything we see happening around us at this very hour has significance. Some things involved are profoundly significant. One such profound sign of stage-setting for fulfillment is the coalition of nations forming to Israel’s north. Russia (land of Magog), Iran (much of ancient Persia), and Turkey (the land of Togormah) coming together in a coalescing alliance is a spectacular example of God’s foreknowledge of things to come. These, of course, are exactly the central actors scheduled to come against God’s chosen nation, Israel, according to Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. It must be agreed that much of the stage-setting itself is likened to fulfilled prophecy in some ways. For example, the Apostle Paul’s “perilous times,” presented in 2 Timothy 3, is almost a vivid snapshot of these spiritually darkening days. While prophecy yet future, for the most part, seems reserved for the Tribulation (Daniel’s seventieth week), developments in our nation and world today are becoming ever more like those given in God’s Word for that last seven years immediately preceding Christ’s Second Advent. Luciferic darkening has so infected this generation in America and throughout the world that we who “watch” in order to discern the times are brought face to face with end-times insanity born of greatly increased rebellion against God. Other than the fact that Israel itself is what most discerners view as the most dramatic sign of where this generation stands on God’s prophetic timeline, there runs a deadly septicemia throughout humankind that marks this as a generation at the end of its prophetic rope. The infection proves we’re in the terminal stage of rebellion. The Apostle Paul explains very clearly that infection, satanically injected into humanity’s collective bloodstream. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:18–32) Carefully reread the above block of prophecy. It is astonishing how much it says about the human condition at the time of Christ’s next catastrophic intervention into mankind’s rebellion. In my view, no descriptive could be more vivid or accurate of what has taken place in America over the past decade. This nation, despite its founding as a Christian nation—and it was so founded regardless of whether anyone wants to dispute the fact—has served as the prototype for the human condition and comportment given here by the Apostle Paul. The most recent presidential election and the era surrounding it encapsulates practically every nuance of condemnable points about rebellious man herein characterized by the great apostle. It shows where we currently must stand on God’s prophetic timeline. Paul points out that the culmination of all the rebellion against the God of Heaven results in the Lord turning the rebels over to a “reprobate” mind. This is where this generation, as a collective, stands. A reprobate mind is one that cannot think clearly. These rebels turn everything upside down. Good is called evil and evil is called good in their convoluted world. Even Christendom—all religious entities that claim Christianity as their base—has become terminally infected with this end-times lunacy. These are false-teaching, apostate wolves in sheep’s clothing who cannot (and do not even want to know) truth. They’re of the totally reprobate mind Paul described. An example of this religious septicemia during our time is provided by my close friend and colleague, Daymond Duck. Daymond writes the following: On June 16, 2019, the building caretaker at Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan Davidson, dressed up as a drag queen called Sparke Leigh. Sparke wore a purple dress, make up and high heels. Sparke stood at the door of the church to greet people as they entered. (It seems to me that Auburn is a church in name only.) During the children’s portion of the worship service, Sparke went on stage and read “The Story of Harvey Milk and The Rainbow Flag” (possibly the opposite of training up children in the way that they should go). Sparke could have read Scripture and shared a Bible Story with the children (such as what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah), but Sparke preferred to talk about Harvey Milk and the rainbow flag (days of Lot, departing from the faith, even worse, turning evil into good and flaunting it at church, etc.). Indeed, in consideration of a worldwide cultural and societal 180-degree turn away from God, the spirit-filled discerner of these prophetic end times cannot but conclude that the moment of Heaven’s judgment must be very near at hand. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Since Joe Biden entered the White House, the deterioration of Chinese relations with the United States has accelerated. Meanwhile, Chinese relations with Russia have tightened, and that should deeply alarm all of us. Because now that war has started, many are deeply concerned that the U.S. could eventually find itself in a direct conflict with a Russian-Chinese alliance. Jake Sullivan and other foreign policy officials in the Biden administration desperately want China to denounce the Russian invasion of Ukraine and to participate in economic sanctions against Russia. But neither of those things is going to happen, and this is making Biden’s foreign security minions very angry. Of course the Chinese have their own agenda. They are watching how western powers are responding to Russia very closely, because the Chinese believe that it will give them clues about how the western powers will behave when they pull the trigger on an invasion of Taiwan. And an invasion of Taiwan is most certainly coming sooner or later. In fact, the Chinese likely understand that they have now been given a tremendous window of opportunity for a couple of reasons. Number one, events in Afghanistan and Ukraine have exposed the weakness of American leadership. If the Chinese are going to launch an invasion, they will almost certainly want to do it before Joe Biden is voted out in 2024. Secondly, the attention of the western world is on Ukraine right now. So if China invades, the ire of the western world will be split between both Russia and China. And since the U.S. would be forced to maintain a strong military presence in Europe to protect NATO allies, it would make it even less likely that the U.S. would be able to intervene effectively in Taiwan. Unlike the situation in Ukraine before the war, a diplomatic solution with China simply will not be possible. The Chinese believe that Taiwan is Chinese territory, and they are absolutely determined to bring it back under their control one way or the other. The only question is timing, and the timing has never been better than it is now. The following are 11 signs that U.S. relations with China are deteriorating and that an invasion of Taiwan is drawing near… #1 Jake Sullivan is warning that China “will not go unpunished” if it helps Russia get around U.S. economic sanctions… China will not go unpunished if it helps Russia evade economic sanctions enacted in response to its invasion of Ukraine, national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday on CNN. The White House official made it clear that such actions would “absolutely” have consequences for Beijing and explained that the U.S. is closely monitoring any and all support China is currently providing Russia. #2 Hu Xijin is a very important figure in China, and he is very close to officials at the very top of the Chinese government. In response to Jake Sullivan’s threats, he stated that Sullivan is going to be “disappointed”… Hu Xijin, former editor-in-chief of the state-backed Chinese Global Times newspaper, said on Twitter: “If Sullivan thinks he can persuade China to participate in sanctions against Russia, he will be disappointed.” #3 U.S. officials are accusing Russia of asking China for military equipment for the war in Ukraine… Russia has turned to China for military equipment and aid in the weeks since it began its invasion of Ukraine, U.S. officials familiar with the matter told The Washington Post. The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, did not describe what kind of weaponry had been requested, or whether they know how China responded. #4 The Chinese responded to this new U.S. accusation very bluntly… According to Reuters, when asked about claims that Russia is requesting military help from China, the spokesperson for China’s embassy in Washington responded “I’ve never heard of that.” #5 The Chinese have steadfastly refused to call Russia’s military action in Ukraine an “invasion”. #6 The Chinese have blamed the U.S. and NATO for pushing relations between Russia and Ukraine to a “breaking point”. #7 As China continues to make preparations for a potential invasion of Taiwan, the Chinese are warning that any nation that supports Taiwan militarily will face the “worst consequences”… Any country supporting Taiwan militarily would face the “worst consequences,” China’s government warned Saturday, adding that “no one and no force” would be able to stop the Communist Party if it took action against the island country, according to a report. China’s relationship with Taiwan has come into focus against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with the island bolstering its own defenses since the war started in case of aggression from the mainland. #8 In recent months, China has flown fighter jets into Taiwan’s air defense zone time after time… China has taken a more aggressive stance against the Democratic island nation lately, sending a record number of fighter jets into Taiwan’s air defense zone late last year. And last month, as Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine, nine Chinese aircraft entered Taiwan’s air defense zone, prompting a broadcast warning from the island nation. #9 Taiwanese authorities are very much aware that the invasion of Ukraine makes an invasion of Taiwan much more likely, and some of them believe that hostilities are already beginning. Just recently, one official actually accused the Chinese of engaging in “cyberwarfare” against his nation… National Security Bureau Director-General Chen Ming-tong (陳明通) said that China, taking advantage of the conflict in Ukraine, has heightened its political and economic pressure on Taiwan. “This includes military threats, with China continuing its united front tactics and cognitive warfare to spread disinformation and penetrate our society. China is also engaging in cyberwarfare, stepping up hacker attacks and other tactics to intimidate us,” Chen said. #10 The president of Taiwan visited army reservists over the weekend in an attempt to send a strong message to the Chinese… Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen visited army reservists training under a new scheme to bolster war readiness on Saturday, a programme that has gotten added impetus from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, given China’s bellicosity against the island. #11 Experts all over the western world agree that China is moving closer to Russia because the Chinese are convinced that an eventual showdown with the United States is inevitable… “China’s policy is based on Xi Jinping’s view of China’s interests, and he sees the United States as implacably hostile,” Bonnie Glaser, a China scholar at the German Marshall Fund, told me. “He sees Russia as his only ally against the United States and the other democracies…. I don’t think China can in any way be neutral.” “At a strategic and diplomatic level, they’ve clearly leaned toward Russia,” agreed Evan Feigenbaum, a former State Department official now at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. “It’s a deliberate choice.” Let us hope that a Chinese invasion of Taiwan can be put off for as long as possible, because once that happens the U.S. and China will essentially be in a state of war from that point forward. And considering the fact that both sides have nuclear weapons, that is not something that we should want. Not too long ago, an article that was posted on Yahoo News envisioned what a Chinese invasion of Taiwan might look like… Airstrikes would quickly aim to kill Taiwan’s top political and military leaders, while also immobilizing local defenses. The Chinese military has described some drills as “decapitation” exercises, and satellite imagery shows its training grounds include full-scale replicas of targets such as the Presidential Office Building. An invasion would follow, with PLA warships and submarines traversing some 130 kilometers (80 miles) across the Taiwan Strait. Outlying islands such as Kinmen and Pratas could be quickly subsumed before a fight for the Penghu archipelago, which sits just 50 kilometers from Taiwan and is home to bases for all three branches of its military. A PLA win here would provide it with a valuable staging point for a broader attack. It would be a horrible, horrible conflict, and of course the Russians would fully support the Chinese invasion. So what would the Biden administration do in such a scenario? Some believe that the Biden administration would just sit back and let China take Taiwan, but I believe that the Biden administration would feel compelled to intervene. And that would mean the kind of shooting war with China that I have long warned about. If the Biden administration would have been willing to work out a diplomatic solution with Russia regarding Ukraine, the Russian invasion never would have happened. And if the Russians had never invaded Ukraine, a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would be far less likely. But now the dominoes are starting to fall, and if China invades Taiwan that will actually make a North Korean invasion of South Korea far more likely. We are at such a critical turning point, and we are trusting Joe Biden and his minions to guide us through this crisis. Needless to say, we are holding a losing hand, and time is running out. Events today eerily mirror those that led to the first two World Wars. Nations align. A big country attacks a smaller one. The rest of the world struggles to know what to do. Both sides keep ratcheting up the provocations. 2 Timothy 3:1 says, “In the last days, perilous times shall come.” We’re there. These are those times. The anger in western nations has reached a boiling point. It was bad enough for Vladimir Putin to start a war with his peaceful neighbor. But in that war, he has shown boundless cruelty. Imagine calling a ceasefire in a town, then relentlessly bombing a huge children’s hospital there. Imagine promising refugees that they can safely evacuate a city, then slaughtering them as they make the attempt. He has shown no qualms about bombing hospitals, schools, civilian apartment buildings, and a host of other nonmilitary targets. His actions have enraged nations and individuals the world over. As a result, pundits and diplomats are advocating things that would have been unthinkable a few weeks ago. Politicians seem intent on proving their mettle by thinking of new, more devastating ways to “punish” Russia. I get it. Vladimir Putin deserves to be punished. Innocent blood cries out for vengeance. But should vengeance be our goal? Remember Romans 12:19: “‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.” In these circumstances, if we choose to steal from God that which He says belongs to Him, we endanger the whole world. Western governments are right to pressure Putin and arm Ukraine. But as we ratchet up the tension, we must do so with an endgame in mind. For the moment, I’m not hearing much about how to bring peace. The talk is about further cornering Putin. Do we really want to push him into a position where he sees expanding the war as his only recourse? I am not for appeasement. In fact, coddling and appeasing Putin put us in this present danger. Since the beginning of this century, he has gotten away with every outrageous thing he tried. So, when the United States and Europe told him that the invasion of Ukraine was a red line he could not cross, he didn’t believe them. He had crossed red lines before, never paying more than a token price for his actions. Nothing in his experience as the leader of Russia prepared him for the global backlash he now faces. I am not for appeasement, but I am for finding an offramp. We must stand up to Putin, but we must do so in a way that will end the war on Ukraine without creating World War III. This is not 1941. This is the era of thermonuclear weapons and ICBMs. The Bible gives uncannily accurate descriptions of both regional and global nuclear war. As a student of Bible prophecy, I know these things are coming. But in the meantime, we should heed the words of our Lord when He said, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” Remember Romans 12:18: “So far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” That does not mean “peace at all costs,” but it should give us an impetus to find ways to make peace where we reasonably can. 1 Timothy 2:2 instructs us to pray “for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life.” So, consider this a prayer request—an urgent and vital prayer request. A March 4-6 Quinnipiac University poll asked that if Americans were in the same position as Ukrainians are now, would they stay and fight or leave the country. Quinnipiac reports, “A majority (55%) say they would stay and fight, while 38% say they would leave the country.” Only a little over half say they would defend the country rather than run away, but a closer look at the demographics reveals the population segment of true countrymen, and the results may or may not be surprising. Some 68% of Republicans and 57% of Independents say they would stay and fight, but only 40% of Democrats would remain to defend the country. A majority of Democrats surveyed, 52%, say they would leave the country. Among the 18-34 age group, only 45% said they would stay and fight, while 48% said they would flee. In the 35-49 age group, 57% say they will defend the homeland while 37% said they would leave. Of the age group that is most patriotic, 50-64, 66% say they would stay and fight, while 28% would leave the country. Some 52% of the 65+ age group will stay and fight while 37% would leave. By race, 57% White, 38% Black and 61% Hispanic said they would stay and fight. If this poll is accurate, it gives insight into whether Americans think their country is worth fighting for. Republicans and those in the 35-64 age range strongly believe in defending the nation. Democrats, and those in the 18-34 age range believe it is better to leave the country than to defend the homeland. While the specific demographics of the poll were not published, it is a fact that the greatest concentration of Democrats is in the big cities. The majority of city dwellers do not own real property, and most 18-35 year-olds may not own homes or land. The Founding Fathers believed that real property ownership was key to national security because if you owned property, you had a stake in the country. According to Quinnipiac, Democrats, in general, do not feel a patriotic affection to the nation. But property ownership is not the only indicator. Pew Research reported the share of Democrat voters who are Christian in 2020 was 52% while 79% of Republicans said they were Christian. A 2021 Worldview Study by Arizona Christian University found that 43% of the 19-38 age group “don’t know, don’t care or don’t believe God exists.” Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whom God is the Lord; and the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” God forbid that America ever be attacked, but from these polls we can see who can be counted on to defend the homeland, and who will cut and run. But they could. Any believer can. Jude wrote in his epistle, “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life” (Jude 1:21 NKJV). Though God’s love is unsought, undeserved, and unconditional, we can be out of harmony with it. So, what does it mean to keep ourselves in the love of God? It means we should keep ourselves in a place where God can bless us. It also implies that we keep ourselves out of the places where we would not receive the blessing of God, perhaps through our disobedience. We don’t keep ourselves saved, but we do keep ourselves safe. We all are vulnerable to certain things, and we know we could fall into sin. And even Christians will go through hardships. Actually, Christians will face unique hardships and challenges because they’re Christians. God never promises to airlift us out of all our problems, but He does promise to be with us through them. Remember what David wrote in Psalm 23: “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me” (verse 4 NLT). But what about when an accident or tragedy happens in the life of a child of God? Where’s the keeping power of God then? In asking a question like that, we’re assuming that somehow, we have the inherent right to live long, easy lives and die peacefully in our sleep one day. The Bible, however, says that our times are in His hands (see Psalm 31:15). That means the Lord will walk with us through life, no matter what we’re facing. And we’ll never be alone.
