Considering Emerging End-Time Signs: Part 2 - By Gene Lawley - https://www.raptureready.com/2023/08/30/considering-emerging-end-time-signs-part-2-by-gene-lawley/
There is a unique passage of Scripture that has displayed openly for centuries the outline of God’s plan for major events of the Christian gospel’s duration. It is the presentation of the seven feasts of the Lord, which God told Moses to put on the Jewish calendar, recorded in Leviticus 23. The world has basically ignored those seven days as something the Jews do, but others have no interest in them. As outlined in Leviticus 23 and again in Numbers 28, they are spread across the annual calendar, starting with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the first three feasts or festivals. They start on the fourteenth day of their first month, Nisan, the Passover feast; the fifteenth day, Unleavened Bread for seven days; and a third holy day. These are Passover, Unleavened Bread, and the third one not named. They parallel the historical events of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. They occur on the Gentile calendar about the middle of March. These feasts, called convocations (meaning rehearsals), picture the highlights of a farmer’s annual growing and harvest seasons—planting, cultivation, early harvest, and late harvest for the first five of the seven festivals. Those first three festivals picture the planting of the seed. Jesus related Himself to that in John 12:24: “Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone, but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.” Jesus died (was planted), and the seed of His gospel has been reproduced in millions of believers in the world over the centuries since. Some Bible Prophecy experts believe the fifth feast represents Jesus’ return in the clouds to receive those in resurrected form who have believed in Him. This year, it occurs on September 16-17. It is followed this year by the UN Security Council meeting on September 18-19 in New York to establish a seven-year Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) plan. “It will mark the beginning of a new phase of accelerated progress towards the SDG high-level political guidance on transformation and accelerated actions leading up to 2030,” so says the plan. In other words, the New World Order advocates intend to transform the world’s population into submissive slaves of that elite, self-appointed, and “more equal” leadership. In Daniel 9:26-27, the prince of Roman heritage will take over and will (no doubt with many UN members) provide a seven-year peace covenant with Israel. (It was the UN Security Council that established the new state of Israel in 1948, and it appears that it could be those again who will set up the peace agreement.) Why would they do that? The goal of the SDG above is to bring unity to the world under a one-world government. Peace in the Middle East would likely be the first item on the list. Entry into the mix shortly thereafter will come the Gog-Magog invasion of Israel, to be discussed later. It is my understanding that the lawless one who is coming will not be one now in an obscure European country but one who is well known and readily acceptable by those left behind when the Rapture occurs. Back in 1954, the UN leadership was desperate for “a man, be he god or devil, who will lead us out of these difficulties, and we will accept him.” Waiting in the wings is that man, waiting until the falling away leaves the world ready for his brand of law and order and acceptable living principles. We know what that will be like as we observe the rapidly dwindling moral integrity in the world. Jesus said, in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I am come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” Another sign is the consistency of God’s method of allowing the evil leaders to pronounce and activate the death of children and then people of all ages as His plan heads toward a major change in its forward movement. As He was ready to move the children of Israel out of Egypt, and an evil pharaoh demanded the Israeli midwives to kill any male child at the birthing as they assisted in it. They reported to Pharoah that the Hebrew women were so able with birthing that the babies were already born when the midwives arrived. Moses, as you know, was saved by his mother when she left him in a basket in the river where Pharoah’s daughter found him and claimed him for her own son. It did take eighty years for the Jews to be willing to leave Egypt’s slavery and hardship. Then, when Jesus was born and the wise men from the East came two years later to worship Him, Herod learned of their timing and ordered that all Jewish boys under two years were to be killed, lest this new “King of the Jews” could rise up and take over his domain. God told Joseph to take Mary and the Child to Egypt for safety. After Herod died, he was told to return to Judea. The great change in God’s operative plan was to introduce the New Covenant in Christ’s blood, leaving the Old Covenant of obedience to the law for acceptance by God. Israel had vowed to keep that Covenant, but it never worked, for their works were never sufficient. Faith through grace was, and is, and always has been the way to God’s acceptance. The next major change in God’s operative came as a result of His promise to “scatter them into all the countries of the world” as punishment for their rejection of Him in constant disobedience over the Old Testament period of Jewish history. As the Prophets declared that punishment, they also told of God’s plan to restore the Jews to their own land that was promised to Abraham. The scattering into all the world took place when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D., taking 65 years until the city was left empty of Jewish people. It remained a totally desolate province for 1,800 years. The Turks tried to homestead the land for 300 years but could not because annual rainfall was practically absent. Mark Twain, visiting there in 1853, called it “the most desolate place on earth.” It was God’s method of keeping the land intact for His promised restoration of His Jewish people there. During the First World War, Jewish people befriended the British, who were engaged in warfare in that region, and they were rewarded by the British with the Balfour Declaration in 1917 that set aside the land of Palestine as the land of the Jews. It was not until May 14, 1948, that the UN Security Council voted to establish a sovereign nation known as Israel, the permanent home of the Jews. But this is where that method of God’s operative again came into action. How was God going to arouse Jewish people in all of those scattered nations to want to return to their new nation? They would have become deeply embedded into the cultures, even the political fabric of those different countries. Just as God had allowed Satan to test Job’s faith integrity, He allowed a man to rise up with a hatred of the Jews, Adolf Hitler, who would create a Holocaust of death to six million or more Jews wherever they could be found in the European countries the Nazis had conquered. I suspect that many do not put the two issues together in this way, but God knew by foreknowledge that the new nation would soon be available for their return. It was a horrible time for Jewish people and those Gentiles who helped them hide from the Nazis. All during those years of disobedience in Old Testament times, when the Jews turned away from the Lord, He allowed others to conquer them with bloodshed and resulting slavery. It was God’s method to turn their hearts to Him. So now you ask, “What is the current possible sign?” What is the next great movement of God in His plan for the ages? It seems to be that the bigger the coming movement, the greater the “awakening method” turns out to be. The incessant cry for total abortion rights without any restrictions, billed as “a woman’s reproductive health” issues, has reached a level of about 62 million deaths in America, the supposed citadel of liberty and justice for all. No one in that movement of pro-abortion wants to accept the basic truth that a child is begun at conception. It is living a lie and perhaps is the sign of a change in God’s ongoing plan when millions more will be taken to meet the Lord in the air when the Rapture occurs. That event will include all who have been saved in Christ since His resurrection, all who are still alive, and, by God’s great mercy and justness, all those who have been aborted in the womb or have died before they could have known to acknowledge the Lord. His promise to that end is in Matthew 18:14, as He said in precise words: “Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” Jesus said, “You do not know the day or the hour of His coming, neither the angels nor the Son of Man.” After He rose from the grave, He was given all judgment by the Father, so He, Jesus, knows what day He will come “as a thief in the night.” When Paul was writing to the Thessalonians in his first epistle, he finished his thoughts on the manner of the Rapture in verse 18 of chapter 4, then went on with this: “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you.” Why not? Perhaps it’s because the evidence of telling events will show in their own timing, as Jesus said in Luke 21:28, “When these things begin to happen, look up, for your redemption draws near.” Then he writes, “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night,” and there seems to be a break in the continuity of events. His attention is switched to those who can only be the Jews who have been looking for peace for years, especially since May 14, 1948. But there is another major sign to be explored before looking further into the Jewish people’s coming events, in Part 3. Nothing else appears – no other words, no symbols, no pictures. Just the word “Redeemed”. One day, whilst shopping at a local grocery store, another man saw my shirt, smiled and said, “Me too!”. A true brother or sister in the faith knows exactly what that word represents, and it is always great to meet others who are excited to share their redemption story. Of course, to be redeemed we must have a Redeemer! Though sometimes overlooked, we actually learn of this Redeemer early on in the Book of Genesis 3:15 reads: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” As we see from that passage, God intended the Redeemer to be at the heart of His strategy in the defeat of Satan. But Satan also has a strategy. The heart of his strategy is to blind mankind to the fact that God’s judgment will soon fall upon this world. This denial has a purpose – Satan is using it to prepare the world for his coming attempt to establish the visible, political form of his evil kingdom on earth led by an emissary we refer to as the Antichrist. Given what we know about the coming Millennial Kingdom (with Christ ruling and reigning from Jerusalem in truth and righteousness), Satan will also enact a counterfeit plan to establish a theocracy built upon lies and spiritual darkness. In fact, consider these similarities: 1. Both Jesus Christ and the Antichrist have a coming (2 Thessalonians 2:1, 2 Thessalonians 2:9) 2. Both Jesus Christ and the Antichrist are revealed. (2 Thessalonians 1:7, 2 Thessalonians 2:3) 3. Both Jesus Christ and the Antichrist bring a message which underscores their mission. (2 Thessalonians 2:10) 4. Jesus Christ was sent by His Father (John 6:38). The Antichrist will be sent by his father, the father of lies (2 Thessalonians 2:9). Throughout the Tribulation Period (or Daniel’s 70th week as we often refer to it), Satan will use various strategies in an attempt to establish himself as the permanent ruler of heaven and earth. These strategies evolve in four stages, each more serious and intense than the last. First and foremost, he will seek the permanent establishment of a visible, political form of his kingdom by raising up an unholy trinity – Satan, Antichrist and False Prophet. This kingdom will not be one of love and light, but of evil and darkness. Secondly, as any “king” would do, he will insist that only those who swear allegiance to this kingdom be permitted to live within it. Therefore, he will seek the destruction of all testimony which gives glory to God, the true King of the Universe. Of course, the best way to destroy a testimony for God is to kill those who have a personal testimony of God (see Revelation 13:7, 15; 17:6). Satan’s third strategy in the Tribulation Period is to destroy Israel once and for all. He has attempted to do this throughout history but in the Tribulation Period, realising his time is short, he will attack the nation of Israel with extreme intensity (see Revelation 12). Finally, the last and most desperate strategy of Satan is to gather all the armies of the world to make war against the Lord with the express goal of stopping Him returning to institute the Millennial Kingdom. Revelation 19:19 testifies of this time: “And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.” Satan’s evil plans will fail – that much is certain from Scripture. In fact, even though Satan will appear to have success in establishing a permanent kingdom throughout the Tribulation Period, God reminds him that his efforts are futile by declaring this in Revelation 11:15: Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Only one kingdom will be left standing after the Tribulation Period – and it isn’t the one led by Satan! Outside of the remnant church, there are not many people who are taking seriously the warning of God’s judgement which will soon burst forth upon the earth. Sadly, though the church as a whole should bear witness to this truth, many are blind to the prophecies which speak of this future time. The world will reel in collective shock at how terrible this time will be, notwithstanding the efforts of many wonderful remnant believers worldwide who are doing all they can to sound the alarm prior to the rapture. How terrible will it be? Zephaniah 1:15 provides an insight: “That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,” There was an old medieval Latin hymn based on this passage. The first two verses read: “Day of wrath! O day of mourning! See fulfilled the prophet’s warning, Heav’n and earth in ashes burning! O what fear man’s bosom rendeth, When from Heav’n the Judge descendeth, On whose sentence all dependeth.” To deal with mankind’s sin a redeemer was required, and, to the glory of God, a Redeemer has been sent. But if you are not willing to accept the truth of Jesus Christ, you will soon come face to face with the lies of the Antichrist. These lies will not only lead to a life of difficulty on this earth, but they will lead to an eternity of punishment if you remain outside of a saving faith in Jesus Christ. John 3:17-18: “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Prophecy Update Videos Must Watch Videos! The assault on the children of America and the world hasn’t abated. It is ramping up dramatically. And the true nature of its origin is being made known. The following news item sheds light to some extent on the source of the assault: The Walker Art Center, a taxpayer funded museum in Minneapolis, held a “playful demon summoning session” for families and children, with a performance called “Lilith the Empathic Demon.” “Demons have a bad reputation, but maybe we’re just not very good at getting to know them,” an event description reads. “Families are invited to create a vessel to trap the demon that knows them best—perhaps the ‘demon of overthinking’—and then participate in a playful ceremony to summon and befriend their demon,” the website explains. The event was designed for families, with children encouraged to participate, and finished with a “playful demon summoning session.” This is a free country. If adults want to dabble in the black arts in their free time, that is up to them. But family friendly? For children? Taxpayer funded? Really? It’s not even exaggerated… Why would anyone play with things like this? (“Taxpayer Funded Museum in Minneapolis Holds ‘Demon Summoning’ Event For Children,” Baxter Bitri, The Voice, August 15, 2023) “We are coming for your children” is a chant that has been at the center of some elements within the LBTQ movement for a number of years. They sometimes claim the chant is done just to make fun of the stiff-necked religionists—especially Christians—who oppose the freedom to live without some deity’s restrictive morals. And from the story coming out of Minneapolis, we are apparently expected to believe the “playful demon-summoning session” is to further the fun-poking. However, the ceremony is, I believe, opening the portals of the demonic realm even wider. That opening is exposed by the ratcheted-up activity of wickedness here and across the world. I’m aware that many who observe these times in light of Bible prophecy castigate author Jonathan Cahn for his recent book, Return of the Gods. But I believe it is on the mark in helping expose what’s going on in the supernatural realm, as that realm seems to be infusing a profound increase of evil into the world. This assault is particularly virulent in attacking even the smallest children. What is mind-boggling is that parents would actually, even playfully, bid demons to interact with their children. This is the point to which Satan has been able to delude these parents and others into believing the demon world is just a myth, something to consider as fodder for foisting spoofs. This demonic ploy can thus convince people that because he—Satan—is a myth, God must be, too. Seems to me the devil is making significant inroads in bringing about such deception. Take, for example, how Satan has convinced doctors, school boards, teachers, and even parents in some cases to embrace the transgender madness. As I’ve written previously, with regard to the transgender perversions going on, even die-hard feminists are beginning to see the insanity and detriment caused by the Satanic attempts to blend the genders. I use the word “Satanic,” because it is Satan who places the ideas from which these perversions flow into activity that is meant to take children’s innocence. The attack on children has taken on much more sinister movement toward satanic control. You can almost hear the demons hissing within their human minions’ voices as they chant, “We are coming for your children…We are coming for your children.” The ever-increasing assault on children is a primary reason I believe God is about to say, “Enough!” The devil’s war against the most innocent–the little ones who haven’t reached the age at which they’re accountable for decisions in the matter of salvation—might just be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. This might be one indicator of just how near the Rapture might be to taking place. Be certain you are not left behind when that great event occurs. Here is how to be ready: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10) Baby Steps - Nathele Graham - [email protected] When we give our lives to Jesus, we sometimes expect everything to be easy. God never promised us smooth sailing, but be assured that we can count on Jesus for help when Satan attacks. The disciples followed Jesus and learned from Him, but they also had some very trying times that stretched their faith. They had to learn to trust Jesus by taking baby steps. One day early in His ministry, Jesus had been teaching a multitude of people, and His body needed rest. He told the disciples that He wanted to go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. What should have been an easy trip because Peter, Andrew, James, and John were experienced fishermen and knew how to handle a ship, suddenly turned dangerous. “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.” Mark 4:37. I can understand why the disciples would be concerned. The ship was sinking. They didn’t have enough experience to know that they could trust Jesus to get them through the storm, and this was a step in building their faith. All they could see was the danger, and not the hope found in Jesus. Where was Jesus? “And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?” Mark 4:38. Although they had spent some time with Jesus and were learning from Him, they categorized their faith. There were some things that faith in Jesus would help, but other things, like a major storm, that they felt was up to them to deal with. Their faith was new and they had to learn to truly trust Him, even in storms. Do you ever find yourself in a situation like that? All you can see is the danger, and fear rules your reasoning instead of faith. Maybe the storm is a financial one, or a health problem. These things can bring fear into your mind. I think of stories I’ve heard of wealthy people committing suicide during the financial collapse that led to the Great Depression. People had to decide about their priorities. Did they love their money so much that it was their god, or did they have faith in Jesus to see them through the storm? It wasn’t an easy time in history, but those who placed their faith in Jesus were far better off than those whose god was earthly treasure. The disciples could only see the storm. They were in the baby steps of their faith and had to learn. It was Jesus’ will to cross the sea, and that should have assured them they would make it safely. “And he arose, and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39. The disciples were in awe as Jesus calmed the storm. “And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?” Mark 4:40. Jesus asked them about their lack of faith, and we need to have an answer to that question when we face the storms in our life with fear instead of faith. “And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mark 4:41. What manner of man, indeed! He was God incarnate, and He had stepped into His creation as a man. Only He can calm the storms in life. The above event happened early in Jesus’ ministry, and the disciples were just beginning to grow in their faith. We have the same problems as we stumble through this life. When we first meet Jesus, we have to take baby steps in faith and learn to trust Him. We all face uncertain times in life, and we feel our faith being tested. “I trusted Jesus, but now I face this great crisis. Is He sleeping while my ship sinks?” No, Jesus never sleeps and He is always there. So many of the troubles we face in life are caused by our own choices and actions, but we blame Jesus for not saving us from the consequences of those choices. Possibly you’ve chosen to smoke cigarettes, and now you face lung disease. Maybe you’ve chosen to live a deviant sexual lifestyle, and now you’ve contracted a deadly disease. Jesus isn’t to blame. Are you facing prison because you were driving recklessly and had an accident where someone died? It was your choice to be irresponsible. The thing we must remember is that no matter what mistakes or bad choices we make, Jesus never turns away from those who repent and truly accept His free gift of salvation. He will see you through the storms in life. That doesn’t mean it’s ok to keep making the same mistakes. Repent means to change your mind and turn away from sin. Whatever happens in this life, faith in Jesus will bring eternal salvation. Of all the great men in Scripture, most people can relate to Peter. He meant well, but he made many blunders. With one breath he declared Jesus as the “Christ, the Son of the Living God”, but in the next breath he was pridefully telling Jesus what to do. Jesus very plainly told His disciples that He was going to Jerusalem and He would be killed there. Prophecy would be fulfilled there, but sometimes prophecy being fulfilled can cause confusion and anxiety. Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke Him. Jesus knew what had to happen, and no man could hinder the events that had to take place. “But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.” Mark 8:33. Peter had followed Jesus, but didn’t really know Him. Many Christians have the same problem. They say “I’m a Christian”, but when their faith is tested, they turn to human solutions. Instead of studying Scripture in order to know Jesus better, some try to mold Him into what they want in order to justify their sins. We also see frightening world events happening and forget about studying prophecy. If we study Scripture, we can see that prophecy is being fulfilled exactly as God told us in His word. Sometimes we feel that Christ came to make life easier for us. He came to open eternal life for us. Peter kept taking those baby steps and growing in faith. There was another storm and we see that Peter had learned some lessons about faith. Once again Jesus had been teaching a multitude of people. “And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.” Matthew 14:22. They didn’t question Him as to why they were to set sail without Him, but they obeyed. When the multitude was gone, Jesus went up on a mountain to pray. He was able to see His disciples as they struggled to cross over. “But the ship was now in the midst of the sea tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them walking on the sea.” Matthew 14:24-25. The fourth watch was around 3 AM, and that’s when the disciples saw a marvelous sight. They were frightened as they saw Jesus coming towards them walking on the water. His disciples thought He was a spirit, and He told them not to be afraid. Peter was excited, and true to his character, he spoke up “And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” Matthew 14:28. This is a good lesson for all of us. Rather than just jumping into the water, Peter first asked Jesus for permission. Peter was learning, and the baby steps were becoming more confident. “And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.” Matthew 14:29. Can you imagine the thrill! Peter stepped out in faith, but then made a mistake “But when he saw the wind boisterous he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying Lord, save me.” Matthew 14:30. Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, and saw the storm. His human “logic” told him that it was impossible to walk on water. Nothing is impossible with God. As always, Jesus answered his plea. “And immediately, Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” Matthew 14:31. Peter took a big step of faith by getting out of the boat, but his fear caused him to sink. Had he kept his eyes fixed upon Jesus, he would have kept walking. Peter was learning to trust Jesus, and in the years to come, those baby steps would be confident steps of faith. Brothers and sisters, we are headed into a storm. Are you still taking baby steps in your faith? If so, you need to get into God’s word and study. Prophecy is being fulfilled, but too many Christians feel fear as they hear of all the major things that are happening in the world. Israel is at war with the Muslim nations around them, and many prophecies are on the verge of being fulfilled. The Jewish people are wand to build their temple, but the evil that surrounds them won’t allow it. It will be built in spite of the storms trying to stop them. If you study prophecy, you’ll know that the temple is an important part of end-times prophecy. It must be built before the halfway point of the Tribulation. That’s where the Antichrist will set up the abomination. All of the necessary items to fill the temple are ready, but there has to be ashes from a red heifer in order to purify the Temple and the priests, “This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke.” Numbers 19:2. It’s very rare for a cow to have no white hairs. Today, there are 5 red heifers in Israel and, so far, they seem to qualify. The sacrifice will be made and the only thing missing is permission to build the temple. It will happen when God says it will happen. As bold as Peter was, he really had many fears. When Jesus was arrested, Peter hid and denied knowing Christ. Even though a few hours before that awful arrest, Peter had declared that he would lay his life down for Jesus. Sadly, he couldn’t live up to his proclamation. Aren’t we like that? We walk up to an altar and profess faith, but at the first sign of trouble we go back to our sin. Maybe your friends mock your faith, or the temptation of living a life of sin is strong, and you return to your old ways. Remember that Jesus didn’t come to ruin your life, nor does He look for every chance to condemn you. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18. After the crucifixion, all of the disciples felt as if they had put their faith in the wrong man. His death, to them, was a tragedy, but in reality, it was the ultimate victory. He conquered death for all who truly believe in Him. The Roman tyranny would end one day, but everlasting life is forever. One day soon, true Christian believers will be taken to Heaven in the Rapture, but those left on earth will face unimaginable horrors. We need to share the Gospel with everyone we can. Time is getting short. Stop taking baby steps in your faith, and start walking strong in Christ. The disciples continued to be together, which is what Christians should do. If we continue to hold onto old friends, it’s easy to fall back into old ways. One day they were together at the sea of Tiberias. Even though Peter had denied knowing Jesus, he was still a part of the group. He was probably pretty down on himself for his failure. Like Peter, we often we get tired of waiting for Jesus to give us direction in life, and that’s when we return to old ways. For Peter, it was fishing. That’s not a sin, but it wasn’t what Jesus had planned for Peter. The whole group went fishing together, but they caught no fish until Jesus appeared and they followed His directions. They caught more fish than their boat could handle. That’s another lesson we learn through Peter. Our own efforts are all for naught, but when we follow Jesus’ directions we are blessed abundantly. Peter had been stumbling around taking baby steps in faith, and failing. It was now time for Jesus to restore Peter and to give him his purpose in life. Jesus asked him three times “Do you love me? In English we miss the full meaning of the question. Jesus asked if Peter loved Him with a godly love. Peter could only say that he had a friendly love for Him. Jesus understood, but He gave Peter a purpose. Peter was to feed the flock, both sheep and lambs. The baby steps were over, and it was time for Peter to start walking like a man of God. Jesus told him to feed the flock…both sheep and lambs. There wasn’t a flock to feed at the time, but when the day of Pentecost came, it was Peter who stood up and boldly gave a sermon that convicted about 3.000 men, and they gave their lives to Jesus. Peter had to take baby steps and experience some failures in order to become the leader of Christians in Jerusalem. That took courage. He wrote letters that are filled with prophecy and encouragement. It was the storms he faced that made his faith grow stronger, and his failures helped him to learn to trust Jesus more. When storms come into your life, instead of hiding out of fear and denying Christ, grow bolder in your faith. You have a testimony that can help other people to come to know Jesus. Share it with others. It’s not always easy, but it is always important. Step out in faith and don’t take your eyes off of Jesus. If you do, you’ll sink. Take those baby steps of faith, and grow. Peter did. Daily Jot: Bombshell election fraud evidence uncovered - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The Democratic Party is using its elected and appointed judges and prosecutors to harass, indict and incarcerate anyone who was involved with contesting the 2020 presidential election. The bottom line narrative is that there was no election fraud and anyone who believes there was election integrity issues is a traitor and a terrorist. If you are a public figure warning about election integrity, you better have your facts locked down or you will pay. Former FOX News employee Tucker Carlson is an example with his claims about Dominion voting machines. President Trump and his advisors are being indicted by Democrats. This is so similar to what happens in communist dictatorships. But what’s the truth? Truth is, as far back as June 2020 people were questioning about election integrity. In October 2020, The Daily Jot reported: “Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota are all states that are on the bubble regarding which way they will land in the electoral college. Michigan voters can change their vote by submitting by October 30 a signed request to have their vote nullified. Minnesota voters had until October 20 to request a new ballot. Wisconsin voters had until October 29 to request a new ballot. In New York and Pennsylvania, you can just show up on election day and cast your vote and your early vote will be nullified. All these examples allow for voter fraud in that ballots can be counted twice if election officials don’t pay attention or have nefarious designs in mind.” Then the Supreme Court voted 5-3 to allow late-arriving North Carolina mail-in ballots so long as they were post marked by election day and in a separate action allowed for counting late-arriving mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania. Wisconsin Democrat Secretary of State Doug La Follette allowed voters to claim a COVID exemption so they wouldn’t have to identify themselves when requesting an absentee ballot. Michigan Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson unilaterally voided the legal requirement that voters provide a signature when requesting an absentee ballot, AND also allowed civic groups running voter registration drives to register voters through the state’s online registration website. These, plus Georgia, were the swing states that determined the election outcome. An August 8 investigative story by Gateway Pundit reporters Benjamin Wetmore and Patty McMurray cites a Michigan State Police report and other sources that over 800,000 ballot applications were sent to non-qualified voters in Michigan. The reporters also exposed an intricate scheme and network aimed at systematic voter fraud. The reporters say the FBI did nothing with the information. Michigan was key to Biden’s victory. And we can see that similar shenanigans were taking place in the other key states. But anybody who sticks to the mantra of stolen election or voter fraud is sought out, demonized, or arrested by the Democratic political machine, which resembles the communist mafia. Luke 8:17 says, “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.” May it be so. Daily Devotion: Inescapable Light - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. —Matthew 5:15 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/inescapable-light/ - Listen When you are living for Jesus Christ, your very presence sometimes will bother others because His light is shining out of you. You may even try to hide it. But it shouldn’t be that way. Just let His light shine for people to see. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house” (Matthew 5:14–15 NLT). We’ve all heard the well-worn excuses and the so-called reasons as to why people don’t come to Christ. But here’s the reason that most people don’t come to Him. This, by the way, is according to Jesus Himself: “God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil” (John 3:19 NLT). The reason people don’t believe is they don’t want their sin exposed. They don’t want to acknowledge their shortcomings. And the more godly a Christian is, the more obviously this will take place just by that believer’s great example. Jesus went on to say, “All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants” (verses 20–21 NLT). Few things are harder to put up with than a good example. And when you live it, it really gets people’s attention. Light not only exposes what the darkness hides, but light also shows the way out. And in the same way, the light that shines from us not only shows people their shortcomings and their sins, but it also shows them the way out. It shows them the way to Jesus Christ.
