Could It Be Today? - By Holly Spate - https://www.raptureready.com/2022/04/12/could-it-be-today-by-holly-spate/
There is a dark cloud hanging over America… a dark cloud that extends beyond our borders, reaching into every country on earth. Never before, since the days of Noah, has the world been in so much chaos. Everything appears upside down… good is called evil, and evil is called good. It is a time of uncertainty… an unsettling time, driving people to a perpetual state of fear and panic. It seems every day that a new crisis is unfolding both at home and abroad. It is difficult to keep up, as things seem to be racing forward. We are hearing of wars and rumors of wars as the Bible talks about. We are being told to prepare for food shortages and continued inflation. We are hearing plans of open borders and the demise of the dollar. Those who are paying attention to true news sources (although hard to find these days) are learning a little more about our leaders and their backdoor deals, secret agendas, planned chaos, and obsession with riches, control and power. Critical race theory is being pushed, history is being erased, men are being invited into women’s locker rooms, and the nominee for Supreme Court Justice can’t define what a woman is. Rioters get rewarded while peaceful protesters are targeted. Sanctuary cities are forming, not to protect the unborn but to protect those who wish to abort their unborn child. Things are truly upside down and inside out. Aside from salvation in Christ, life is the greatest gift God has ever given. A society that no longer values life is a society that is the most depraved and darkest imaginable. This is a prime example of “love waxing cold”…very cold. Matthew 24:3-14 speaks of the condition of the world right before Christ’s return: “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. “All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” We are seeing all these things converging at increased speeds. Every day, selfishness takes center stage, and the love of many is freezing over. We are witnessing the unraveling of morality in the world and seeing, with our own eyes, scripture jumping out of the Bible and into our everyday newsfeeds. Believers and unbelievers alike know something is happening. Evil appears to be in full swing and on steroids. We are learning of nefarious plans by those who have hidden in the shadows for years and are now emerging from the dark to implement their desires in broad daylight. We are told a new world order is coming full speed and we will one day, very soon, be enslaved and own nothing and be completely happy about it. Those who plan for the demise of all things good are wide awake…. they seem to never rest or sleep. Psalm 36:1-4 says, “The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.” The blatant sin and war against all peoples and things good and godly are evident and in our faces 24/7. As evil waxes worse, we are reminded that these things must happen before the time of the end of the age. As Jan Markell likes to say, “Things aren’t falling apart; they are falling into place.” So thankful for God… who knows the beginning from the end and is in full control at all times! If we have Him, we have everything and nothing to fear. In the midst of all that’s taking place in the world around us, we are lovingly reminded in scripture that we are not to be surprised or fearful at what we are seeing. We are to be at peace and not afraid as we put on the armor of God and continue to trust our heavenly Father in ALL things. He is our provider, comforter, protector, healer and Father. He promises to take good care of His children despite what’s going on around us. Be Encouraged: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10). “For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee” (Isaiah 41:13). “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1). “But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine” (Isaiah 43:1). “And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8). “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” (Psalm 118:6). The Bible is clear…. Jesus is clear and tells us in advance what is expected. Therefore, we should not be alarmed. All we are seeing in the world today should confirm clearly to us that God’s Word is 100% true. As we see all these things coming together, it should stir us to get our houses in order, pray for the lost, and share the gospel while we still can. Brothers and Sisters in Christ… our time on this earth may be fast approaching. No one knows the day or hour, but we do know the rapture is imminent. Our King is coming; our redemption draweth nigh. Are you ready? Could it be today? [email protected] Can you imagine a world without Israel? Jonathan Tobin Islamists, Palestinians and leftist peddlers of intersectional ideology and critical race theory dream of destroying the Jewish state. These are not harmless fantasies. It was in 1896 that Theodor Herzl published his groundbreaking book, The Jewish State, which launched the modern Zionist movement. Though his project was, as he noted in his book, “very old” and indeed rooted in the prayers of Jews for nearly 2,000 years, it would only be 52 years later that his vision was brought to life with the birth of modern-day Israel in May 1948. (Read More) The Cornerstone of Islamic Replacement Theology By Jonathan Feldstein When Palestinians amass rocks in Islam's third holiest site, the Al-Aqsa mosque, and use them as weapons to attack Israelis, they provide us with an apt metaphor. This is because, in the end, the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, in particular, and Islam, in general, comes down to a rock. When one thinks about Jerusalem, one of the most prominent images that comes to mind is the huge gold-domed building located at the center of the Temple Mount--the Dome of the Rock. In architectural terms, it's a striking structure, but it does not represent what Jerusalem is or should be. It's part of a landscape that misrepresents history. (Read More) Revealing the truth behind al-Aqsa and 100 years of lies By Emily Schrader More times than can be counted, misinformation regarding the Temple Mount has been used to incite antisemitic violence by Palestinians. You would think that after nearly 100 years of history repeating itself, the media would catch on, but alas the last few weeks proved otherwise. It’s time for the world to understand what’s really going on at al-Aqsa Mosque and stop buying into the propaganda games of Palestinian leaders. The media have a responsibility to show the full story of al-Aqsa, and the public deserves to know. The Bible consists of 66 books by 40 writers over a period of 1,500 years. Think of biblical history as a centuries-long bus ride which began when God created Adam and Eve as the first drivers of the “Bible Bus.” (See my CP op-ed titled, “When Did God Create Adam and Eve?”) Adam and Eve were given specific instructions, (Genesis 2:15-17) but they decided to steer off course and crashed the bus into a tree (Genesis 3:1-24). Nevertheless, God enabled the Bible Bus to continue the journey in a world suddenly marked by sin, guilt, pain and suffering. The Russians were aiming for the TV tower right in front of her house. “The first time, only the windows of the house blew out. The second time, the front door was demolished by a blast,” Oleshko told us. She lost both of her legs a few years ago, making it difficult to escape to a shelter. One of the most prolific hymn-writers was a lady named Fanny Crosby. She loved the Lord, and in spite of the fact that she was blind she wrote songs that honored God and help us to see Him better. One of my favorites is Praise Him! Praise Him! I find myself singing it quite often. Sometimes when I’m having a bad day, or lots of stress, I sing this song, because it’s not enough to praise Him only when things are going to my liking. PRAISE HIM! PRAISE HIM! Words by Fanny Crosby Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer! Sing, O earth His wonderful love proclaim! Hail Him! Hail Him! Highest archangels in glory; Strength and honor give to His holy Name! Like a Shepherd, Jesus will guard His children, In His arms He carries them all day long. Songs of praise to the Lord are not new. The Book of Psalms were songs written by men who faced great challenges, especially King David, but in their troubles, they always found reason to praise God. The psalmists wrote many psalms of pure praise of the Lord. “Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.” Psalm 146:1-2. This psalm goes on in praise of the Lord. We need more of that in these worrisome days in which we live. God is still worthy of our praise. All of the heavenly host praise God. The Prophet Isaiah was shown a vision of God on His throne. “Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings with twain he covered his face, and with twain, he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts, the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:2-3. The Apostle John was also shown the Throne Room of God. He described four beasts around the throne “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is and is to come.” Revelation 4:8. I get chills when I think of how beautiful that praise will be when I hear it for myself. The Rapture is on the near horizon, so it won’t be much longer until we are in His presence and hear the heavenly host praising the Lord God Almighty. Will you be there? You will if you have put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. Jesus is our Shepherd; His rod and His staff lead, protect, and comfort all who turn to Him. “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” John 10:11. Jesus did give His life on the cross. He laid His life down willingly because He loves all who follow Him. Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer! For our sins He suffered, and bled, and died. He our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation, Hail Him! Hail Him! Jesus the crucified. Sound His praises! Jesus who bore our sorrows, Love unbounded, wonderful, deep and strong. Jesus is our Redeemer. He has redeemed us from the wages of sin. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23. A wage is something you work for, but a gift is something someone else paid for. Jesus paid an enormous price in order to make the only way for us to live eternally with Him in Heaven. He left His glory in Heaven and entered His creation. He was mocked, beaten, and crucified to bring salvation to sinful man. Christ was fully God, because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and fully human, because his mother Mary was simply a human woman. He would not qualify as our Kinsman Redeemer if Mary had been anything other than human. Jesus took our sin upon Himself and paid our price with His blood. He was crucified, and dead, and buried, but He conquered death when He was resurrected on the third day. If you haven’t thought long and hard about what Jesus did for you, then you should do some Scripture study. When you realize that Jesus took the wages of your sin upon Himself in order to save you from spending eternity in the lake of fire that never stops burning, you will feel deep gratitude in your soul, and turn from the sin in your life. Your desire should be to live your life to honor Him. Hail Him! Hail Him! Jesus the crucified! “ I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make know thy faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.” Psalm 89:1. Sing His praises with your mouth and in your heart always. His love knows no boundaries and has no end. If you’ve rejected His free gift, you still have time to accept His free gift of salvation. You never know when you will die nor do you know when the Rapture will occur. Give your life to Him before either of those events take place. One or the other will happen to all of us. Don’t delay, either could happen at any minute. Accept Him and praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer! Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring! Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever; Crown Him! Crown Him! Prophet and Priest, and King! Christ is coming! Over the world victorious, Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong. There is no salvation without Jesus. The only way to live eternally with Him in Heaven is to accept His sacrifice. Repent of your sin and give your life to Him. Repent means to change your mind. Sin is acceptable to the world which is ruled by Satan, but not acceptable to God. When you come to a saving faith in Christ, things that once seemed so much fun and not at all evil, will become disgusting to you. Change your mind bout clutching at worldly sin and desires that bring no satisfaction. Find true peace and contentment in the things of God. When you accept Christ for salvation, you will be sealed with the Holy Spirit and your life should begin to bear fruit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:22-25. Walk with Him and talk with Him and praise His holy Name. Jesus is Prophet, Priest, and King for ever and ever. The veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom when He died and there was no more need for the separation between God and humans who have accept Christ for salvation. “And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.” Mark 15:38. Instead of human men who hear your confession, and give you a punishment to do in order to work for your salvation, we have Jesus, our eternal High Priest, who put His own blood on the altar in Heaven. Jesus fulfilled all things and He is our only Prophet and Priest and King, for ever and ever amen. Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness; Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song! If you’ve come to a saving faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, then you need to tell your friends and family. Witness to the people around you at work. Witness to your family. You don’t necessarily need to use words, but let them all see how Christ has changed your life; let them see the joy of your hope and salvation as you praise Him in joyful song! Daily Jot: The Farm Chronicles: The Richard Chamberlain Story - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Many people remember Richard Chamberlain as the beloved actor starring in Dr. Kildare and miniseries Shogun and The Thorn Birds, but the Richard Chamberlain I knew was definitely a different man. It was the July 4, 1967 week when we took our annual beach vacation with the Heft’s to Myrtle Beach, SC. It was during that trip that I met Richard Chamberlain and his friend Mac. Dick and Mac. At first, they seemed far more interested in the beautiful sisters Jean and Nancy Heft than they were in me, but it didn’t take long to figure out that the sisters were remaining loyal to their boyfriends back home. Having pretty much struck out, Richard Chamberlain kind of adopted me as his little brother. Dick and I had a friendship that lasted well into my high school years until such time we sort of lost track of each other. You see, the Richard Chamberlain that I knew was a Captain in the United States Special Forces. Our friendship, beginning in 1967, spanned two tours in Vietnam and Dick’s several promotions from sergeant to lieutenant to captain. We wrote each other during his time in Vietnam. The letters were brief and often referring to nameless missions in which he participated. He often sent me packages with patches and uniforms and his green beret. He would draw little pictures in the letters about where the patches should be located on the uniform. It was as if I was living his tour with him. One time, he was on leave in September 1967 and he and his mother stopped by the farm on his way from New York to Michigan to see his sister. I can’t tell you how excited I was to see him. It was as if God had sent me a big brother as a comfort for the one I had lost to a horrible accident in 1965. One of my last letters from Dick was in July of 1969 after he had married and had a daughter. He wrote: “Our daughter Laurie is fine. She’s walking around now and is really little terror. I plan to get out of the Army for good after this tour. Otherwise I’ll just end up being sent back to Vietnam for another year or so. And I wouldn’t care for that at all. I have my own “A” team now and enjoy my work, but will still be glad to get home. So now I’ve got to start scouting around for a job. Good grief!” Richard Chamberlain was in my life for a season. He inspired me to patriotism, to academics, to an understanding of war and mission, to knowing certain survival skills. His friend Mac was killed in action during a Viet Cong attack on his special forces camp. Dick had escaped that attack having been sent to Hawaii for R and R. Those years of knowing Dick were precious. I still have his green beret (it’s on display in my office) and many of the patches he sent, but most of all, I have the memories of a fellow farm boy and a fine American. I tried to find Richard a few years back, but no one had a record of where he might be. But he gave me hope and encouragement at a critical time in my life. Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity.” It’s true. Never underestimate the power of friendship. Daily Devotion: Focus on the Finish Line - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 3:14 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/focus-on-the-finish-line/ - Listen When you’re running a race and coming toward the end, you’re exhausted. You don’t feel as though you could go on another moment. But you realize that you’re almost at the end and have to finish the race you’ve begun. When I was in high school, I was a good short–distance runner, and my oldest son, Christopher, was a runner as well. I took him to various track meets, and then I heard a little rumor that after one of the meets, there would be a race for the fathers. I had a new pair of running shoes in the trunk of the car, just in case the rumor was true. And sure enough, it was. I put on my shoes, went to the starting line, and started sizing up my competition. And then the starter pistol went off. Suddenly older guys were passing me; I couldn’t believe how fast they were. I was pouring it on, but about halfway into the race, I realized that not only was I going to lose, but I was going to lose horribly. So I just walked off the track. Writing to the believers in Philippi, the apostle Paul said, “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14 NKJV). He also made this statement in 2 Timothy: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (4:7 NKJV). Paul used the Greek word agōn for “fight,” which translates to “struggle” or “struggling.” This reminds us that we need to keep going and finish our race, even when it gets difficult. How are you doing as a follower of Jesus? How are you doing in the race of life? Are you winning or losing? Are you gaining ground, or are you losing ground? Press on. Keep running.
