Distress of Nations - By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2021/05/02/distress-of-nations-by-daymond-duck/
Concerning the signs of His coming, Jesus said there will be distress of nations on earth (Luke 21:25). On Apr. 23, 2021, on his Middle East Update, Amir Tsarfati said, “I want you to know one thing; in my entire lifetime, I have never seen such chaos militarily, politically, spiritually – and I’m talking about all across the world – outside of the Church, inside of the Church, in Europe, in America, in the Middle East, in the area of China, in the Philippines, all of that area.” Here are some recent events. One, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: Pres. Biden has now offended the three main players in this great latter years and latter days war.
This great end-of-the-age war is coming, and Biden seems to be stumbling right into it. Two, concerning world government and the Great Reset: on Apr. 20, 2021, conservative writer Dave Hodges wrote in part:
Three, on Apr. 19, 2021, U.S. Sec. of State Antony Blinken noted that Pres. Biden has directed his department to put “the climate crisis at the center of our foreign policy and national security.” Climate Change is a hoax that globalists use as a scare tactic to get people to accept world government. The climate is changing, but deception, famines, earthquakes, etc., are signs that the Tribulation Period is approaching (Matt. 24:4-8). God uses the weather to fulfill His Word, and globalists cannot change that (Psa. 148:8). If globalists want to change the weather, they need to urge those that are called by God’s name to humble themselves, pray, seek God and repent of their sins (II Chron. 7:13-14). But that is probably not going to happen because most globalists want to ignore God, and many people that are called by God’s name (for example, Pope Francis) do not seem to know or care what the Bible says. Put another way, the U.S. can put the climate crisis at the center of its foreign policy and national security if it wants, but the natural disasters are still going to happen because God’s Word is going to be fulfilled. Four, concerning permission to buy and sell: on Apr. 22, 2021, it was reported that an Alaskan village of almost 500 people requires their citizens to be fully vaccinated, be on a list of vaccinated citizens, wear masks, and abide by social distancing guidelines to enter the community’s two stores. Citizens that cannot meet these requirements cannot enter the stores, but they can call in an order that will be delivered to their home. The grocery store limits the number of customers to four at one time. Five, concerning whether people might be forced to take the Mark or not: on Apr. 19, 2021, it was reported that the government of Saskatchewan has approved a training course for social workers on vaccinating mentally challenged people for Covid. If everything else fails, mentally challenged people that do not want to be vaccinated can be sedated and vaccinated against their wishes. Six, on Apr. 22, 2021, it was reported that a judge in Florida blocked access of a mom to her son until she gets vaccinated and starts wearing a mask, and another judge in New York reversed a mother’s custody of her daughter because she was not wearing a mask in the presence of her child (the mom is allowed to have supervised visits with her child in her home if the mom is wearing a mask). Seven, last week, my article mentioned an Op-Ed that said the Covid Crisis and The Great Reset are beginning to sputter, and globalists may come up with an alternative crisis to give their desired world government a boost. This week, it was reported that only 28% of those in the U.S. have been vaccinated, and requests for vaccinations are slowing. One TV commentator suggested that the government may have to give more privileges to the vaccinated than to the unvaccinated to motivate more people to be vaccinated. Incidentally, if vaccinations keep people from getting Covid, why is Pres. Biden still wearing a mask? Also, on Apr. 23, 2021, Professor of Epidemiology at Yale University, Dr. Harvey Risch, told Steve Bannon’s War Room that about 60% of people that are being infected with Covid today are people that have already been vaccinated. Eight, on Apr. 20, 2021, the Connecticut House of Representatives passed a bill to eliminate religious exemptions from vaccination for students as of the 2022-23 school term. It still needs to be voted on by the Senate but is expected to pass. Nine, this writer watched Pastor Tom Hughes’ Apr. 22, 2021 interview of Dennis Swick, founder of His Channel TV, on “World News Briefing.” Hughes read a quote from a 2015 article (I missed the name of the writer) that said, “We already have the technology necessary to enforce the Mark of the Beast, but we don’t have the will to enforce the Mark of the Beast.” It now seems that history has reached the point, even in the U.S., where many would support enforcement of the Mark of the Beast. Ten, concerning global famine, hyperinflation, and an economic collapse during the Tribulation Period (Rev. 6:5-8): on Apr. 24, 2021, Bloomberg reported that global food prices have reached their highest level since 2014, they are surging and beginning to threaten the global economy. Finally, if you want to go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this. [email protected] How Bad Will the Tribulation Be? – Dr. David Jeremiah - https://www.davidjeremiah.org Our culture has embraced the idea of suffering for a cause, but it has cheapened the concept of martyrdom in the process. Terms like social change martyr, digital martyr, work martyr, and political martyr have expanded the meaning of martyr to include any inconvenience resulting from expressing an opinion. But in order to understand just how bad the Tribulation will be, we need to know what words like martyr mean in their biblical context. What Does It Mean to Be a Martyr? Revelation 6:9 makes the meaning clear: "When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held." Slain is a sacrificial term that means "slaughter, butcher, murder." God's people have always experienced persecution in parts of the world, and many have sacrificed their lives for the Gospel throughout the centuries. As the world's end draws near, persecution will rise to unprecedented levels, and many will be martyred—murdered—for their faith. When the fifth seal is opened, every Christian, whether dead or alive, will have been raptured to heaven at the beginning of the Tribulation. This suggests the martyrs in Revelation chapter 6 will be new converts to Christianity during the Tribulation period. In a world dominated by evil, their faith will lead to a bloody massacre. Jesus described their suffering in His Olivet Discourse: "Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other" (Matthew 24:9–10, NLT). There will be no room for lukewarm Christians during the Tribulation. For many believers, following Christ will demand the ultimate sacrifice. For every believer, following Christ will require carefully counting the cost. The Tribulation martyrs will weigh their earthly suffering against the greater spiritual suffering of denying Christ, and they will arrive at the same conclusion as Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German pastor who was hanged during World War II: [Messengers of the Gospel] must not fear men. Men can do them no harm, for the power of men ceases with the death of the body. But they must overcome the fear of death with the fear of God. The danger lies not in the judgement of men, but in the judgement of God, not in the death of the body but in the eternal destruction of body and soul. Those who are still afraid of men have no fear of God, and those who have fear of God have ceased to be afraid of men.1 Why Will Believers Be Martyred? The apostle John says the Tribulation martyrs will be killed "for the word of God and for the testimony which they held" (Revelation 6:9). Armed with the truth of God's Word, the martyrs will preach repentance and warn of the judgment to come. In 2 Corinthians 2, Paul describes the Christian life as a fragrance that smells like a sweet perfume to God and other Christians. But to "those who are perishing," the aroma smells like decay and death (verses 14–16). During the Tribulation, there will be few believers around to appreciate the fragrance of righteousness. Most people will have hardened their hearts and will reject the message of salvation. With the Antichrist firmly in control of world politics and religion, society will react violently to any trace of Christianity. Many will be called upon during the Tribulation to love God more than their very lives (Revelation 12:11; see also Psalm 44:22). Why Won't the World Listen? A story from the Old Testament helps us understand how humans, who were created in God's image, could hate someone for serving Him. Two kings, Ahab of Israel and Jehoshaphat of Judah, were preparing for war. Jehoshaphat insisted on consulting one of God's prophets. Ahab, who worshiped false gods, summoned four hundred prophets who readily agreed with the kings' battle plan. Jehoshaphat wasn't fooled and again asked for a prophet of the Lord. Ahab finally admitted there was one godly prophet, Micaiah, who could be consulted. Before calling the prophet, Ahab explained his disregard this way: "I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil" (1 Kings 22:8). Ahab rejected truth because it did not conform to his expectations. He preferred the flattery of pagan prophets to the sincerity of God's prophet. In 2 Timothy 4:3–4, the apostle Paul warned Timothy that a time would come when mankind "will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." Ahab's attitude is typical of what happens in a heart that has turned away from God. The Digital Age has made it possible for people to select which news they hear and how it is reported. Universities have created safe spaces where students can insulate themselves from unwelcome ideas. Recent court cases have threatened the civil liberties of Christian business owners who try to conduct their businesses according to biblical standards. When Christianity in practice arouses the dormant conscience of a non–Christian, the response is to "kill the messenger." That is why Christians have been persecuted throughout history and will be increasingly persecuted as the Day of the Lord draws near. How Will God Punish the Martyrs' Persecutors? The apostle John describes the martyrs as crying out from under an altar contained inside the fifth of seven seals on a scroll (Revelation 6:9–10). Each of these seals represents a separate judgment upon the earth. This means the world will be judged, among other things, for the blood of the martyrs. Beginning in Revelation 8, John describes seven trumpet judgments that declare the Lord's final intervention on earth. They present a picture of the world ruined by man. The final trumpet blow reveals God's final seven judgments upon the earth, which are the bowl judgments detailed in chapter 16. The trumpet judgments present the world ruled by Satan. The bowl judgments present the world reclaimed by God. The prayers of the saints crying out for justice become the punishment of the sinners. The third bowl judgment, turning freshwater to blood, declares God's retribution against those who have martyred His people. Here are the words of the angel who pours out this judgment: You are righteous, O Lord, the One who is and who was and who is to be, because You have judged these things. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due. Revelation 16:5–6 Why Will God Wait to Punish the Persecutors? In the words of 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent" (NLT). In Revelation 6, the martyrs' cries for justice were answered with white robes and encouragement to "rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed" (verse 11). As in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, God will delay His judgment until every willing soul is preserved (Genesis 18:32). Now in Revelation 16, the cries are answered with the Lord's vengeance. Freshwater rivers and lakes will turn into bloody water when the third bowl is poured. Once again, the altar is the focus of this message of retribution because the souls of the slain are held under the altar. The angel declares God's justice in judging His enemies. This bowl pours out the judgment requested by the martyrs. As terrible as the Tribulation will be, it is only a small taste of what awaits those who reject the Gospel. The days of the Tribulation are limited to seven years, but anyone who does not acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord will suffer forever. Some people dismiss the reality of hell by thinking it's where their friends are going so they might as well go there too. Jesus disproved this idea with a story he told in Luke 16 about a godly beggar named Lazarus and an ungodly, unnamed rich man. Lazarus died and was taken to heaven, but the rich man died and was tormented in Hades. The rich man begged Abraham to send Lazarus to warn his family—to testify to them about the reality of heaven and hell—because he did not want his brothers to end up in the same awful place. Abraham refused to send Lazarus to the rich man's family saying, "They have Moses and the prophets" (Luke 16:29). Like the rich man, God has told us everything we need to know about heaven and hell and how our decisions will lead us to one place or the other. He waits patiently today for each person's decision, but one day the verdict will be final. "The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty" (Numbers 14:18). How Do the Bowl Judgments Affect Christians Today? If you are a Christian, these judgments will not affect you. You will not be on earth when they occur. But, as with all Scripture, there is an application to be made, for the signs of the coming of the Lord are evident. If the Lord Jesus Christ returned today, the events described in Revelation 15—16 would probably take place no later than seven years from now. Who do you know who is young enough to still be alive seven years from now? Do they know Christ? If the Rapture occurred today, would they be left behind to endure the seven bowl judgments? 1Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship (New York: Macmillan Publishing Company, 1963), 242. How Much National Debt Is Too Much? America May Soon Be at It's Tipping Point – Jon Miltimore - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=4702 Last week, President Biden pitched a new plan to Americans before a joint session of Congress: more spending. The just-released $1.8 trillion plan, presented just weeks after Biden signed a $1.9 trillion in COVID relief spending into law, includes "free" community college as well as universal preschool for all three and four-year-olds. "Mr. Biden could usher in a new era that fundamentally expands the size and role of the federal government," The New York Times reported. How Much Debt Is Bearable? The announcement comes months after the Congressional Budget Office released a report projecting a $2.3 trillion deficit in 2021. Biden's plan will almost certainly make the deficit worse. Though the plan contains various tax increases to fund its programs, the taxes are likely to fall well short of government outlays, economists say. "The laws of economics are more rigid than the laws of the federal government, and these tax hikes are unlikely to yield the windfall Biden expects," Joshua Jahani, the managing director of Jahani and Associates, noted in a recent NBC News article. As a result, the $28.2 trillion national debt will swell even faster. Worse, when unfunded liabilities are included in the balance sheet, as private companies are legally required to do, the debt exceeds $120 trillion. How much risk these obligations present is unclear. There is a school of thought that suggests these debts pose no serious risk. After all, in theory, a government can roll over its debt indefinitely. However, in a recent article for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, economist David Andolfatto noted that ultimately the government doesn't decide how much debt is bearable. The market does. "There is presumably a limit to how much the market is willing or able to absorb in the way of Treasury securities, for a given price level (or inflation rate) and a given structure of interest rates," Andolfatto wrote. "However, no one really knows how high the debt-to-GDP ratio can get. We can only know once we get there." A Dangerous Level of Debt? Andolfatto is right that no one really knows the debt tipping point. But it's worth noting that the US debt-to-GDP ratio--essentially a country's debt compared to its annual economic output--was 129 percent at the end of 2020. In other words, the official US debt was nearly a third larger than the entire US economy. That is considerably higher than Greece's debt-to-GDP ratio in 2010, when it received a bailout from the International Monetary Fund to avoid defaulting on its obligations. The United States is not Greece, of course. Its economic potential is far greater, and it is operating under a currency it controls. But there's no denying that the US is in uncharted territory. Today, the federal government debt-to-GDP ratio is higher than it was at the conclusion of World War II, when the nation assembled one of the largest armies the world has ever seen. Perhaps even worse, the government is piling on debt faster than ever. Eventually, as Andolfatto notes, the market may very well decide enough is enough, and the demand for Treasury securities will dry up. Indeed, this is likely one reason cryptocurrencies are suddenly flourishing. In seemingly the blink of an eye, cryptos have gone from being discussed in the corners of Reddit rooms and university lounges to a market of more than $2 trillion. It's no exaggeration to say cryptos are now mainstream; they are being gobbled up by hedge funds and star athletes signing 10-figure contracts. And it's not hard to see why. The market is hedging. Like rats on a sinking ship, many are eyeing an exit, sensing that the dollar's day may finally be coming to an end as its value is eroded by mass pumping. In a popular 2016 article, author Richard Ebeling explored how central planners in ancient Rome destroyed the economy. A lot of what Ebeling describes--debt, massive spending, inflation, and price controls destroy--sound eerily familiar to modern ears. And Ebeling naturally explores the age-old riddle: why did Rome fail? For centuries, as any history buff knows, thinkers from Edward Gibbon to Peter Heather and beyond, have asked this question. The answers vary. Some blame barbarians, others immigration. Some claimed Christianity divided the nation, while others point to disease or the weakening of Roman legions. All of these theories are interesting and worthy of examination, but I've found no single better explanation than the one offered by economist Ludwig von Mises who concluded Rome's decay stemmed from its rejection of individualism and free markets. "The marvelous civilization of antiquity perished because it did not adjust its moral code and its legal system to the requirements of the market economy," Mises wrote. He continued: "A social order is doomed if the actions which its normal functioning requires are rejected by the standards of morality, are declared illegal by the laws of the country, and are prosecuted as criminal by the courts and the police. The Roman Empire crumbled to dust because it lacked the spirit of [classical] liberalism and free enterprise. The policy of interventionism and its political corollary, the Fuhrer principle, decomposed the mighty empire as they will by necessity always disintegrate and destroy any social entity." The American president and statesman John Adams once reportedly said there are two ways nations are destroyed. "One is by the sword and the other is by debt," Adams reputedly said. There is no question debt is a serious problem. (Just ask the ancient Romans and modern Grecians.) But if Mises is correct, the explosion of debt may merely be a symptom of a much larger problem: a collapse of the spirit of liberty and the growth of a system hostile to free enterprise. We should learn from one thing we have that the Romans didn't: their ominous example. Get Ready For The Most Painful Inflation Since The Jimmy Carter Years Of The 1970s - by Michael Snyder - http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/get-ready-for-the-most-painful-inflation-since-the-jimmy-carter-years-of-the-1970s/ If you are too young to have been alive during the 1970s, you might want to read up on that decade, because current economic conditions are starting to become eerily similar to what we experienced back then. In the 1970s, an energy crisis caused tremendously long lines at gas stations all over the country. In 2021, we don’t have a shortage of gasoline, but shortages of other key products are starting to cause very serious problems. In fact, as you will see below, even the Biden administration is publicly admitting that there will be “supply chain disruptions” in the months ahead. The 1970s also featured extremely painful inflation, and I certainly don’t need to tell you that prices have been rising very aggressively lately. In fact, Bloomberg is using the term “skyrocketing” to describe the “upward trajectory” of commodity prices… The prices of raw materials used to make almost everything are skyrocketing, and the upward trajectory looks set to continue as the world economy roars back to life. From steel and copper to corn and lumber, commodities started 2021 with a bang, surging to levels not seen for years. The rally threatens to raise the cost of goods from the lunchtime sandwich to gleaming skyscrapers. It’s also lit the fuse on the massive reflation trade that’s gripped markets this year and pushed up inflation expectations. With the U.S. economy pumped up on fiscal stimulus, and Europe’s economy starting to reopen as its vaccination rollout gets into gear, there’s little reason to expect a change in direction. Over the past year, the Federal Reserve has pumped more money into the financial system than ever before, and the U.S. government has been on a wild spending spree that makes Zimbabwe look fiscally conservative. It was inevitable that this was going to cause rampant inflation, but the numbers that we are starting to see are so crazy they are difficult to believe. A couple weeks ago, Charlie Bilello posted a summary of how commodity prices have changed over the past year… Lumber: +265% WTI Crude: +210% Gasoline: +182% Brent Crude +163% Heating Oil: +107% Corn: +84% Copper: +83% Soybeans: +72% Silver: +65% Sugar: +59% Cotton: +54% Platinum: +52% Natural Gas: +43% Palladium: +32% Wheat: +19% Coffee: +13% At this point, nobody can deny what is happening, and even the Biden administration is admitting that there will be “supply chain disruptions” and “transitory increases in prices”… Council of Economic Advisers chair Cecilia Rouse said on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that they expect to see some “transitory inflation” as America is coming out of the coronavirus pandemic. Anchor Chris Wallace said, “Can you guarantee with all this spending that we are not going to have a new round of overheating the economy and serious inflation? Rouse said, “These are very serious concerns, and we know that coming out of an extremely deep recession that there are going to be bumps along the way. We expect that there is going to be supply chain disruptions. That will cause some transitory increases in prices.” Biden administration officials would like for us to believe that this inflationary period will just be “temporary”, but exactly how do they plan to achieve that? Do they have a plan to somehow pull trillions of dollars out of the system? No, they are planning to borrow and spend trillions more. In the 1970s, double-digit inflation made headlines for years on end. Many people believe that we are well on the way to a return to such levels, but according to John Williams of shadowstats.com, we are already there. In fact, if inflation was still calculated the way that it was back in 1980, we would already be in double-digit territory. And for certain items, we are already seeing inflation that is off the charts. For example, the price of corn is up more than 30 percent so far in 2021… From tortillas to cornbread, some of your favorite corn-based dishes may go up in price late this summer. Corn has been leading the rally among grain commodities, rising more than 30% in 2021, according to MarketWatch. Corn is used in hundreds of different products at the grocery store, and so this is going to dramatically affect the food budgets of millions upon millions of American families. Meanwhile, we continue to see more shortages start to emerge. Last week, the mainstream media was freaking out over our new nationwide chicken shortage… A chicken shortage is taking place across the country, much of it fueled by the chicken sandwich craze at fast food chains such as KFC and Bojangles, which are having a hard time keeping up with soaring demand. Experts say February’s massive winter storm in Texas also contributed to gaps in the supply chain. That shortage is supposed to be “temporary”, but analysts are warning that the current computer chip shortage could last until 2022. But despite all of the problems that I just detailed, Americans are increasingly optimistic about the future. In fact, one recent poll found that a whopping 64 percent of all Americans “are optimistic about the direction of the country”… President Joe Biden completes his first hundred days in office with a country that is more optimistic about the coming year, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll. Nearly two-thirds of Americans (64%) are optimistic about the direction of the country in the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos’ KnowledgePanel. And Americans are also extremely optimistic about the stock market. If you can believe it, Americans now have more of their assets invested in the stock market than ever before… Individual investors are holding more stocks than ever before as major indexes climb to fresh highs. They are also upping the ante by borrowing to magnify their bets or increasingly buying on small dips in the market. Stockholdings among U.S. households increased to 41% of their total financial assets in April, the highest level on record. That is according to JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Federal Reserve data going back to 1952 that includes 401(k) retirement accounts. Most Americans seem to believe that happy days are here again, and the stage is set for an immense nationwide emotional meltdown once this “bubble of hope” inevitably bursts. Anyone that believes that things are going to get better has a fundamental misunderstanding of the times in which we live. We have just been through the most painful year for the U.S. economy since the Great Depression of the 1930s, and I know that most people would like to see things turn around, but that simply is not going to happen. Very dark days are ahead, and those that are trusting Joe Biden to save America are going to be bitterly, bitterly disappointed. Daily Jot: Senator Tim Scott and Racism – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Responding to Joe Biden’s address to Congress, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) shined a very bright light on the hypocrisy and extreme agenda of Biden and the Democratic party, and because he is a black Christian, he was ridiculed as an “Uncle Tom.” While Senator Scott said that America is not a racist country, he also exposed a racist political party—the Democratic Party. In the spirit of Jim Crow laws instituted solely by the Democratic Party after the Civil War and continue to oppress black people even to this day, the Democrats and leftists who call everybody else racist, attacked Scott for offering a truthful counterbalance to the extremism of Biden and his buddies, and their use of race as a political weapon. Scott exposed the multi-trillion dollar Democratic plans for just what they are: extreme leftist programs designed to turn this country to socialism. These programs are deceptively named The American Rescue Plan, The American Jobs Plan, The American Families Plan and so forth. None of them are about their titles, but rather are about expanding the reach of government and lining the pockets of freeloaders so they will support the politicians advocating this redistribution of your hard-earned money. And if you disagree with these people, you may as well be dead. I’m talking about the visceral expressed by leftist politicians, left-leaning corporate bosses, and Hollywood elites. There has been no better example of their hate and racism than what they have been saying about Senator Scott since his rebuttal to Biden. Scott attacked the divisive Democratic Party and leftist race narrative. He said, “Nowhere do we need common ground, more desperately than in our discussions of race. I have experienced the pain of discrimination. I know what it feels like to be pulled over for no reason, to be followed around the store while I’m shopping… From colleges, to corporations, to our culture, people are making money and gaining power by pretending we haven’t made any progress at all. By doubling down on the divisions we’ve worked so hard to heal. You know this stuff is wrong. Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country. It’s backwards to fight discrimination with different types of discrimination. And it’s wrong to try to use our painful past to dishonestly shut down debates in the present.” And he predicted exactly what would happen in the wake of his rebuttal. He said, “I get called Uncle Tom and the n-word by progressives by liberals. Just last week, a national newspaper suggested my family’s poverty was actually privilege because a relative owned land, generations before my time. Believe me, I know first-hand, our healing is not finished.” Since his speech, he was labeled “Uncle Tim” on social media. Politicians and others like Jesse Jackson, who make a lot of money pretending no progress has been made, criticized the speech saying it was an “inherent contradiction” and “sick.” Racism is a heart issue. Those who would hypocritically weaponize race are like those described in Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” We know it when it exposes itself as it has with these people. Daily Devotion: Live in His Shadow - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word. —1 Kings 17:1 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/live-in-his-shadow/ - Listen Elijah walked out of complete obscurity and into the court of the most wicked king that Israel ever had. Then he courageously declared to King Ahab and his wife, Jezebel, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word” (1 Kings 17:1 NKJV). We can imagine what they were thinking: Where did this guy come from? Where did he get the audacity to speak to us in that way? Doesn’t he know who we are? Doesn’t he know what we can do? The secret of his courage was contained in this phrase: “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand. . . .” Elijah knew who his God was. The psalmist wrote, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1 NKJV). Have you ever tried to walk in another person’s shadow? You must be close to them and in step with them. Elijah was aware of the fact that wherever he was, he stood consciously in the presence of God. The psalmist continues, “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust’” (Psalm 91:2 NKJV). The Bible is telling us we must have an intimate, close relationship with God. But a relationship alone isn’t all we need. We must also dwell in fellowship with God. Some Christians attend church on the weekend where they listen to a message and sing worship songs, but then they live like atheists for the rest of the week. God wants to be part of our lives. He wants us to dwell consciously in His presence and spend time in His Word, in prayer, and with His people. FROM THE HEART Let Us Make the Short Time We have Left, Count for ALL of Eternity! We are going to face discouragement, disillusionment and, most certainly, persecution in the time between now and the Rapture. But don't be discouraged or disillusioned. The coming turmoil will provide us unrivaled opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel. So be ready to share your faith and your hope with those who need Christ. We still have time to reap a great harvest of souls for God's kingdom!" - Hal Lindsey 1) We need your prayers!- We proclaim the Truth of the Word of God and we are under constant spiritual and sometimes even physical attack. 2) We need your encouragement!- We need to hear from you, let us know how the Lord is blessing you through this ministry so that we can share it with others. 3) We need your input! - If you have a prophetic article or story or if there is a news related item we missed, let us know. 4) We need your financial support!- To put it quite simply, without your support, there would be no Prophecy Update. I ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with us to get the Word out and keep the world informed. Remember, your gift, no matter how small, does make a difference! You will be helping to touch lives, around the world, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, thanks to the internet your generosity carries a global impact! - Thanks! Our Prayer for You- "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else." 2 Corinthians 9:10-13 If you have been blessed by Prophecy Update and would like to help support this ministry financially.
