Our government is in a spiritual war.
 
Globalists are determined to transform America.
 
America once knew God, but our leaders now ignore and exclude Him.
 
Godless people are running our nation.
 
Christian ministries are being banned by social media.
 
God answers prayer, but less than half of U.S. citizens are Christian, and many are not praying.
 
Our leaders openly champion the anti-Biblical agenda of abortionists and gays.
 
Our freedom of speech and religion are at stake.
 
Our economy is being destroyed.
 
Our border with Mexico is wide open.
 
Deceit is rampant.
 
The Great Reset wants to seize our property and make our children wards of the state.
 
Globalists, including Pres. Biden, Pope Francis and others are pushing for a world government, forced vaccinations, and more.
 
America is threatened as never before in our history.
 
Israel is threatened and maligned.
 
God’s prophets warned us that many of these things would happen, and serious students of Bible prophecy are not surprised.
 
Here are more events that are moving us down the prophetic road:
 
One, on May 11, 2021, the Biden administration repeated its support for the two-state solution, and White House Press Sec. Jen Psaki said, “That is the only way to ensure the just and lasting peace.”
 
That belief comes from the pits of Hell because the Bible says God will drag the nations into the Battle of Armageddon for doing that (Joel 3:2).
 
That is one war that is not going to turn out the way world leaders think.
 
Two, on May 12, 2021, Hamas issued an ultimatum to Israel: Withdraw from the Al-Aqsa Mosque (they falsely claim that this includes the entire Temple Mount) and Sheikh Jarrah (a community near East Jerusalem) by 6 pm or hundreds of more rockets will be fired into Israel.
 
Israel did not respond.
 

• On May 14, 2021, it was reported that Hamas was trying to convince Palestinians (and Muslims in other places) that they are the “Defender of Jerusalem” (The teaching that Jerusalem belongs to Muslims is a lie).
• On May 15, 2021, it was reported that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) are calling this conflict “The Al-Quds Swords War (Al-Quds is the Muslim name for Jerusalem).
• The struggle for Jerusalem will continue until Jesus returns to defeat Israel’s enemies at the Battle of Armageddon.

 
Three, on May 12, 2021, the UN’s Middle East Peace Envoy warned that the uprising in Israel could escalate into a full-scale war, and the UN Security Council held its second emergency meeting in three days to deal with the situation.
 
Wars and rumors of wars are a sign of the end of the age.
 
Violence has now broken out between Arab and Jewish citizens in dozens of communities.
 
Four, on May 13, 2021, Hamas started firing more powerful rockets with a longer range into Israel, and it was reported that they have been trying (without success) to hit the offshore rig in Israel’s Tamar gas field.
 
Five, on May 13, 2021, Israel’s military announced that its ground troops were invading Gaza.
 
An hour or so later, Israel’s military announced that they had not started an invasion but were putting troops and weapons in place in case they wanted to start one.
 
These announcements were contradictory and confusing, but reporters hopped on the story and sent out word that the invasion was underway.
 
Shortly after that (early Friday morning), 160 Israeli planes dropped 450 bombs containing more than 80 tons of explosives on several kilometers of known terrorist tunnels in Gaza (One tunnel ran under a major street in Gaza City).
 
Israel’s military said the first announcement that the invasion had started was a ploy because they knew all the terrorists would rush into the tunnels, and they wanted to give them time to gather underground to hide.
 
Then Israel dropped all those bombs to bury alive as many as possible.
 
No one knows how many were buried, but Israel believes it was a large number.
 

• On May 14, 2021, it was reported that Hamas leaders are deeply shocked at how many Hamas leaders have been killed, and they suspect that Israel may have hacked into their secret communication system (It has also been reported that the Senior Commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group was killed).
• On May 15, 2021, the IDF said, “No Hamas officer may feel safe, over or underground.”
• On May 16, 2021, the IDF dropped 110 bombs that were designed to destroy tunnels on the network of terrorist tunnels.
• On May 16, 2021, Israel destroyed the homes of 9 terrorist commanders (weapons were stored in some of those homes).
• On May 18, 2021, the IDF estimated that it has destroyed 130 km (about 80 miles) of terrorist tunnels in Gaza.

 
Six, on May 13, 2021, terrorists in Lebanon fired 3 rockets toward Israel that landed in the Mediterranean Sea and did not hit anything.
 

• Demonstrators in Lebanon started marching toward Israel while waving Palestinian flags.
• When some of them crossed the border, Israeli tanks fired warning shots, and the demonstrators went back into Lebanon.
• On May 17, 2021, terrorists in Lebanon fired 6 more rockets toward Israel, but they fell short.

 
Hezbollah has more than 200,000 rockets ready to fire at Israel.
 

• Israel has warned Lebanon and Hezbollah that Israel will destroy Lebanon if Hezbollah attacks Israel.

 
On May 17, 2021, Jordan recalled its ambassador to Israel and expelled Israel’s ambassador to Jordan.
 

• Jordan sent a message to UN Sec. Gen. Guterres saying Israel provoked her enemies into starting this war.

 
For whatever it is worth, some (not all) prophecy teachers believe there will be an end-of-the-age war called the “Psalm 83 War.”
 

• Psalm 83 is an imprecatory prayer by a prophet and priest named Asaph (II Chron. 29:30), asking God to deal with Israel’s enemies at a time of great danger to Israel.
• Those that believe a Psa. 83 war contend that several Psalms are prophetic (Psa. 2, 16, 21, and many more), prayers can be prophetic, and God will answer Asaph’s prophetic prayer.
• The list of Israel’s enemies in Psa. 83 includes the Philistines (Palestinians in Gaza and Jordan), Moab (an area in Jordan), Ammon (a city in Jordan), with the inhabitants of Tyre (a city in Lebanon that is under the control of Hezbollah; Psa. 83:7).
• 83:1 says, “Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.”
• 83:2 says, “For, lo, thine enemies (God’s enemies) make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.”
• 83:3 says, “They (God’s enemies) have taken crafty counsel against thy
• people (Israel), and consulted against thy hidden ones.”
• 83:4 says, God’s enemies will say, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation (let us destroy Israel); that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.”
• 83:5 says, “For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee” (the Muslims have gotten together and conspired against Jehovah).
• 83:11-12 says, “Make their nobles (leaders) like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession” (Let us, Israel, kill the leaders of God’s enemies because those leaders are saying, “Let us seize the holy places of Israel).
• 83:18 calls for the destruction of Israel’s enemies “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth” (Destroy Israel’s enemies so people will know that God’s name is Jehovah and He rules over the whole earth).
• Most Bible prophecy teachers that believe Psa. 83 is about an end-of-the-age war believe it will take place just prior to the Battle of Gog and Magog (Ezek. 38-39).

 
They believe this could also lead to the destruction of Damascus in one night (Isa. 17), and on May 14, 2021, at least 3 rockets were launched into Israel from Syria.
 
On May 18, 2021, a drone was sent from Syria into Israel, but Israel shot it down.
 
Seven, concerning world government: on May 13, 2021, it was reported that a Suffolk County, NY College Professor warned in an interview with Tucker Carlson of Fox News that schools are teaching Anti-American globalist theory instead of the U.S. Constitution.
 
Instead of educating our students, they are brainwashing them with the idea that Americans must do what is best for the world, not what is best for America.
 
Eight, on May 17, 2021, it was reported that Directors of Microsoft wanted Bill Gates removed as a Director for an inappropriate relationship with a female Microsoft employee.
 
It has also been reported that Gates had a relationship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
 
This immoral globalist wants to tell everyone on earth how they should live, force everyone to be vaccinated, reduce the population of the earth, etc.
 
With globalists like Gates influencing the whole world, how can anyone doubt that a godless man called the Antichrist will be empowered to rule over it?
 
Nine, on May 12, 2012, it was reported that some people that have taken a Covid vaccination are saying a magnet will stick to their injection wound, and videos have appeared on social media allegedly showing it happening.
 
Magnets will stick to metal, but not flesh.
 
This is causing people to suspect that at least some so-called vaccines contain a nanochip for tracking purposes.
 
Some scientists dismiss this as a conspiracy theory, but many who say that work for, or are employed by, companies with ties to the government.
 
A nanochip in the jab could be dangerous because of the globalist desire to force people to be vaccinated.
 
On May 16, 2021, it was reported that FDA inspectors ordered 15 million doses of Johnson and Johnson’s Covid vaccine to be trashed because of contaminants.
 
Ten, more on Covid:
 

• On May 15, 2021, it was reported that 40-50 percent of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) employees have not taken the vaccine.
• Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), said it is about the same in that organization.

 
Eleven, more on Covid:
 

• On May 17, 2021, Pres. Biden said, “those who are not vaccinated will end up paying the price,” whatever that means.
• The Democrats and some Republicans say a woman has a Constitutional right to choose what to do with her own body.
• It looks like they say she has a Constitutional right to choose, if she wants to abort (kill) her baby, but she does not have a Constitutional right to choose if she wants to refuse to be vaccinated.
• Perhaps they should be sued for denying women their Constitutional right to choose what to do with their own body.
• For your information, as of May 17, 2021, almost one million people have signed a LifeSiteNews petition rejecting mandatory Covid vaccinations (the number of people that will “end up paying the price” may not be small).

 
Twelve, concerning hyper-inflation and an economic collapse: on May 12, 2021, it was reported that federal taxes, federal spending, and the federal debt have set records in the first seven months (Oct. through Apr.) of the 2021 fiscal year.
 
Thirteen, concerning persecution: on May 18, 2021, it was reported that Canada has now arrested 3 pastors for holding church services that violate orders (not wearing a mask, not social distancing, not locking down, or whatever).
 
Finally, if you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

Having been a follower of Yeshua for 37 years, I have often heard or even said that we are in the last days. To be sure, even 1st-century believers thought they were in the last days, and each day that passes puts us closer to the end of God’s program for mankind on this side of eternity. So, when people hear that we are in the last days, many of them, suffering from some sort of eschatological fatigue, roll their eyes and move on. Are those of us claiming that it is 11:59 at the eleventh hour just sensationalists? Are we overreacting and redirecting our focus on the less important at the expense of what matters in life? Frankly, it all depends on what our focus is being redirected to.
 
I have always been a very literal, context-driven student of God’s Word. If God left us the Bible as His message to us on how to live and what to look forward to, we can look at it from different cultural vantage points, but we must agree that it contains the same truth for all mankind. We might not like some of the statements that the Bible makes, but that doesn’t give us the authority to declare that they are not the truth. When we survey God’s counsel, we are bound to find many prophecies fulfilled and more yet to be fulfilled. We must resist “newspaper exegesis”, but we need to honestly look at the news through a Biblical lens if we want to know where we are on God’s timeline of human history.
 
Much of that timeline revolves around Israel as God has promised to never forsake Israel or allow for its destruction (Jeremiah 31:35-37). At a time when rockets are raining down on Israel by the hundreds, from a human perspective, the situation looks very bleak. While casualties are inevitable on both sides, God isn’t caught by surprise by the present conflict, and neither should those of us who take His word seriously. Satan’s demise clock is ticking quickly, and he is desperate. Desperate times call for desperate measures and Satan finds, in most of the world, a plethora of willing executioners for his anti-Semitic agenda. Truth has long ceased to matter. Fact-checks are politically or socially motivated.
 
If someone believes that they are contributing to social justice, multiculturalism and tolerance, they immediately feel like they are making a difference to improve the world we live in; even if it is at the expense of someone else, and in this case, as is too often the case, at the expense of Israel and the Jewish people.
 
Not long after the tragedy of the Hyper Cacher Supermarket on the east side of Paris in 2015, Jeffrey Goldberg wrote a piece in The Atlantic that still resonates in my head. In it, he made a sobering statement that I was really hoping was inaccurate, but as it turns out, he might have been spot on. He wrote, ” The Shoah served for a while as a sort of inoculation against the return of overt Jew-hatred—but the effects of the inoculation, it is becoming clear, are wearing off. What was once impermissible is again imaginable. Memories of 6 million Jewish dead fade, and guilt becomes burdensome….Israel is coming to be understood not as a small country in a difficult spot whose leaders, especially lately, have been making shortsighted and potentially disastrous decisions, but as a source of cosmological evil—the Jew of nations.”
 
What Goldberg saw six years ago, was the erosion of Europe’s compassion towards the Jewish people. I have long been a believer that what happens in Europe, and even particularly in France, is a good indication of what is coming to America. The barometer of the new antisemitism in Europe sets the temperature for what is coming to America. Since 1948–when Israel was reborn as a modern nation–antisemitism, which was localized mostly to Greater Europe, became a global virus. The tiny Jewish state gave anti-Semites a justification for a Jew-hatred that has now spread over the four corners of the world. The irrational conclusion has been that if Israel is guilty, by proxy, all Jews are as well. This could lead to the whole world hating the Jews…but wait, isn’t there a prophecy in the Bible about that?
 
The prophet Zechariah wrote, “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it.” (Zechariah 12:2). Mind you, this is a reference to the Campaign of Armageddon, and we are not there since this will be taking place during the final stretch of the Great Tribulation (Revelation 16:16, 19:19). Yet, we cannot afford to put our heads in the sand and ignore the signs of the times. None of this final chapter of mankind, hinging around Israel is going to happen in a vacuum, but rather, it will be progressive AND exponential. I believe that we are well on the way to that final Biblical curtain call, as the pressure is mounting against Jews worldwide. In the last week:
 

• In a recent conversation with the Pope, Turkish president Erdogan declared, “All of humanity should be united against Israel.” I wonder if he had any idea of how Biblical he was when he made that outrageous statement?
• Pro-Palestinian crowds gathered in Los Angeles and attacked Jewish diners as a result of the current conflict between Hamas and Israel.
• Pro-Palestinian crowds rallied in Westwood, CA demanding that Israel stop the airstrikes over the Gaza Strip. They didn’t ask for a ceasefire or for an end to the conflict, but just for Israel to stop defending itself.
• In New York, Jewish people were attacked by pro-Palestinian passing cars who threw fireworks at them, screaming “F…ing Zionists”. One Jewish person was burned.
• In Germany, people marched on the streets shouting “free Palestine for the Jordan to the sea” which is a euphemism for getting rid of all the Jews.
• In London, a group of cars drove through a Jewish neighborhood screaming, “F… the Jews, rape their daughters.“
• In Washington D.C., protesters gathered outside the Israeli Embassy and shouted “Free, Free Palestine” and declared that Israel had no right to exist.

 
As of this writing, Egypt brokered a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. It is uncertain if that ceasefire will hold, but what is sure is that the hatred for Israel and the Jewish people seems to continue to grow on a global scale, preparing the way for an all-out war against the Jews. The Bible is clear, at some point, all the nations of the world will gather against Jerusalem, but that doesn’t mean that all people will follow suit. It is time for all Christians and people of goodwill to unite in rebellion against the real oppressor. For the last several decades, under the leadership of the new antisemitism, the Jews became the perpetrators, something that they never have been. Now is the time to reset our moral GPS because nobody in his right mind will find any moral equivalence between a country that uses weapons to defend its civilians and a group of people who uses civilians to hide their weapons.
 
Maybe the days of Zechariah 12:3 are closer than we think?

Much has been written about the Fourth Gaza War, as I call it, but less about the Iranian role in it.
 
In fact, Iran played a crucial role in instigating the war and the preparations for it by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).
 
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei incited the Arab masses in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria in the weeks leading up to the war, calling upon Palestinian Arabs to “defend” the al-Aqsa mosque and denouncing Israel as a “terrorist base”.
 
Iran upped its funding of Hamas during the war and is now paying $30 million per month to Hamas alone. Aside from the money, Iran is giving other forms of aid to Hamas as we will see below.
 
PIJ receives even more and not only in terms of money. The Iranian proxy receives weapons, training, money, and even food from the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, said PIJ leader Ramez al-Halabi, one of the leaders of PIJ during an interview with al-Ahd TV in Iraq.
 
PIJ leader Ziad al-Nakhala was similarly blunt when he told the Lebanese al-Mayadeen TV Channel the following: “all the conventional weapons reached Gaza via (assassinated Quds Force commander) al-Hajj Qassem Soleimani. Hezbollah, Syria, and the entire resistance axis played a part in transporting them.”
 
Iran tried to become directly involved in the latest war with the Palestinian Arab terror groups by again sending a drone full of explosives from Syria across the Jordanian border with Israel last week.
 
Just as some years ago, when Iran for the first time sent a drone into Israeli airspace, the latest UAV was downed by the Israeli army in the vicinity of the Israeli town of Beit Shean.
 
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that the downed drone was Iranian during his meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas last week.
 
Iran was more than instrumental when it comes to the build-up of the rocket and missile arsenals of Hamas and PIJ. It is true that today the Gazan terrorist organizations are able to build their own projectiles. Even the Ayyash, Hamas’ medium-range missile with a range of 250 kilometers was built in Gaza, but Iranian assistance was crucial in this process.
 
Hamas’ representative in Iran, Khaled Qaddoumi, told Al-Monitor that “The Islamic Republic of Iran has helped a lot in transferring knowledge and expertise on one side, and transporting rockets on the other.”
 
He added that Iran helped Hamas to depend on its own local capabilities to produce such advanced technology.
 
In September last year, Al-Jazeera aired a documentary showing footage taken in Gaza of Hamas terrorists reassembling Iranian rockets with ranges of up to 80 kilometers (50 miles) and warheads packed with 175 kilograms of explosives.
 
Hamas and PIJ also used the Iranian-made Sejjil and Badr-3 missiles during the eleven-day war against Israel.
 
The same counts for the Kornet anti-tank missile that Hamas used at least two times during the war resulting in the death of IDF Sgt. Omer Tabib. These missiles were smuggled into Gaza after Iran shipped them to Sudan and from there they found their way to Gaza via the Sinai Peninsula.
 
The second time Hamas used the Kornet, was on the last day of the war when it shot the missile at an IDF bus. The missile destroyed the rear of the bus but nobody was hurt except for one soldier who was hit by shrapnel but wasn't seriously wounded.
 
The driver of the bus later said that a miracle had happened as he had let off about thirty IDF soldiers near the Gaza border a couple of minutes before the Kornet hit his vehicle.
 
The so-called ‘Metro,’ the underground tunnel complex that Hamas and PIJ built across the territory of Gaza, wouldn’t have materialized without the help of Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
 
Hamas’ and PIJ terrorists and engineers received training from Hezbollah and the Quds Force in both Lebanon and Syria and then returned to Gaza to use their new-found knowledge to advance the tunnel project and the production of better missiles which had to have a longer range.
 
The Iranians also assisted the Gazan terrorist organizations in developing attack drones. During the latest conflict with Israel, the so-called Kamikaze drones were used a couple of times but were downed by the IDF.
 
Iran has a large drone program and just revealed it has a new type of attack drone by the name of ‘Gaza’. The UAV has a range of 2,000 kilometers.
 
So, the bigger picture of this latest Gaza War is that Israel was not only fighting two Palestinian terror groups.
 
The real battle here was against Iran that has vowed to destroy the Jewish state and is trying to achieve this in different ways.
 
It is done by providing assistance to its proxies in Israel and by stirring up unrest among Palestinian Arabs living in Judea and Samaria as well as among Israeli Arabs. Social media was very instrumental in getting the Arabs in Israel to fight their Jewish neighbors
 
In addition, Iran – via Hezbollah- has been caught trying to create new terror groups in Judea and Samaria as well in northern Israel.

It just doesn’t stop. Today, up is down, black is white, and evil is good. Thus, I can’t keep up with the astounding stories I read daily, and my conclusion is always—I never thought I would see the day! So, I’ll keep writing just to keep my sanity. I hope I can help you keep yours as well!
 
I never thought I would see the day when:
 

• A Presidential administration would undermine our allies and fund our enemies.
• Transgender illegal immigrants would be prioritized over the non-transgendered.
• Non-vaccinated soldiers would be considered “non-deployable.”
• Many good people (Christians and conservatives) would be kicked off of Twitter, but a Hamas leader is allowed to celebrate the bombing of Tel Aviv on Twitter.
• The National Day of Prayer would be compromised in 2021, not allowed at the US Capitol, and God’s Name avoided by the US President.
• Many Christians, and even pastors, are in complete denial that the whole Covid–19 ordeal could easily usher in the Beast system as it is excellent conditioning of the people/sheeple.
• The popular term “my body, my choice” would NOT apply to the people who choose to deny the Covid vaccines.
• Conservatives and Christians in America and Canada would be assigned to second-class status just like the Jews in Germany.
• We would allow China’s social credit system known as ESG to invade North America.
• Almost everyone on the American Left would fall for the biggest scam in the history of the world – the so-called Green New Deal, that if implemented, would bankrupt the world.
• The American Left would be more concerned about “white supremacists” (conservatives and Trump supporters) than Antifa or Black Lives Matter.
• Men would actually be allowed to transfer to women’s prisons, even though some may be dangerous sex offenders. I thought I understood delusion, but this is the essence of that.
• Wokism would enter the church even though too many of them are sound asleep! How is such a contradiction possible? It must be the end-times!
• A new book called “Prayer of a Weary Black Woman” has the author asking God to help her hate white people. I thought we were now in a woke generation of tolerance and diversity!
• A Canadian dad would be sentenced to jail for trying to protect his daughter from a transgender medical procedure.
• Government spending and debt in America would get so out-of-control that every US citizen would have to pay $800,000 to pay it off!
• Only 6% of Christians now hold to a biblical worldview according to Barna, while 88% of Christians borrow from contradictory worldviews for their beliefs.
• That’s enough for this installment. I have to process each bullet point, and my brain hurts thinking about each one.

 
In my lifetime, how are all of these items possible? It is a privilege and a challenge to be born for such a time as this. Many days I wouldn’t trade it for any other generation. On other days, I would like to go back to the days of my family members who fled Russia in simpler times. But, they wouldn’t call the pogroms simple.
 
Yet, we may be a privileged generation as we are seeing so many foretold events playing out before our very eyes! Israel back in the land; the convergence of the signs; the predicted perilous times and the anticipated lawlessness.
 
So, nothing should catch us by surprise! And if the Rapture of the Church is today, that shouldn’t surprise us either! Are you ready? Spiritually ready.
 
Call on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ today (Romans 10:13).

America is struck with a virus far worse than COVID—doublemindedness. America is dumbfounded by doublemindedness. Chicago stands as a great example. Chicago’s gun control laws are among the strictest in the nation, but there have been over 1,000 shootings since the beginning of the year. A week ago, from May 14-17, CBS Chicago reports that “at least 47 people were shot” with six fatalities. To own a gun in Chicago, you need to have a Firearms Owners Identification Card and be over 21 years old. I wonder how many gunslingers in Chicago abide by that. Yet, every week the doubleminded people cry for more gun control when it just arms the lawless at the expense of the law-abiding.
 
Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot, an African-American lesbian, has been at the forefront championing equal rights, equality, equity and diversity. In a letter to members of the Chicago news media May 18, Lightfoot wrote: “As a person of color, I have throughout my adult life done everything that I can to fight for diversity and inclusion in every institution that I have been a part of and being mayor makes me uniquely situated to shine a spotlight on this most important issue…I have been struck since my first day on the campaign trial back in 2018 by the overwhelming whiteness and maleness of Chicago media outlets, editorial boards, the political press corps, and yes, the City Hall press corps specifically.”
 
This is the justification Lightfoot is using, in her words, to be “exclusively providing one-on-one interviews with journalists of color.” That’s right. She is excluding White people from interviews. She says that White journalists covering the Mayors office reflect implicit or explicit bias and she wants to coerce media outlets to hire more women and people of color. So she will deny freedom of the press to White people until their bosses hire more people who look like her. This is doublemindedness. One cannot truly champion equality, by tearing down equality. Just as one cannot champion law and order by defunding police, or champion education by preventing kids from going to school, or championing peace by supporting terrorists. What we see in Chicago is an example of such doubleminded thinking across the country.
 
Sometimes you just can’t win for losing. Some 300 of Lightfoot’s extreme left base gathered in front of her house over the weekend to protest that she hasn’t gone far enough to defund police, uphold the environment, support Black lives, support the teachers’ union and so on. Former presidential candidate, Democrat Tulsi Gabbard, who is pro-abortion and endorsed Joe Biden for president, attacked Lightfoot for her anti-white racism. Doublemindedness is all over the place. James 1:7-8 says, “For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; A doubleminded man is unstable in all his ways.” If a majority of a nation is such, and its leaders are such, what can be expected from the Lord? Let us pray fervently against this virus of doublemindedness.

Some years ago, I was leading a Holy Land tour. We also went to modern-day Turkey to visit the biblical Ephesus, where people once worshiped the goddess Diana. So I bought a little statue of this goddess at a local souvenir stand to illustrate one of my messages.
 
Afterward I threw the statue in my backpack and thought nothing more of it. But a little later in the tour, two of my granddaughters came across that little statue and started playing with it.
 
I said, “Girls, give that to me.” Then I left the room with it and threw it away.
 
The Bible tells us, “Little children, keep yourselves from idols” (1 John 5:21 NKJV). We might think of idols as images like the little Diana statues from Ephesus. And they are, of course. But idols also can be other things.
 
An idol can be something that you drive. It can be something that you hold. Or, it can be some passion you have in life that’s more important to you than God Himself. An idol is anyone or anything that takes the place of the true and living God in your life. And if we allow things like these to crowd out God, it can bring our prayer lives to a halt.
 
Another thing that can hinder our prayers is unconfessed sin. Psalm 66 says, “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened” (Psalm 66:18 NLT).
 
Also, in Isaiah 59 we read, “Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore” (verses 1–2 NLT).
 
God cannot forgive the sins we won’t confess.
