Things seem to be growing worse by the day, and many students of Bible prophecy believe that is exactly what will happen at the end of the age.
 
It is bittersweet: Bitter because it signifies that the world is approaching the Tribulation Period, and sweet because it signifies that Jesus is coming soon to straighten things out.
 
Here are some of the events that recently got this writer’s attention:
 
One, when the U.S. started withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan, the U.S. turned over some of its military bases to the Afghan government, the Afghan government collapsed, the Taliban took over the nation, and the Taliban freed thousands of captured ISIS troops from Afghan prisons (confirmed by the Pentagon on Aug. 27, 2021).
 
On Aug. 25, 2021, a group of Islamic State terrorists (called ISIS-K) exploded bombs at the airport in Kabul that killed 12 U.S. Marines, 1 U.S. Navy officer, 169 Afghan citizens, and injured more than 200 other people (U.S. troops, women, children, etc.).
 
On Aug. 26, prophecy teacher Amir Tsarfati said the U.S. and U.K. were warned several hours before the attack that one was coming.
 
Tsarfati said Biden sent the CIA to strike a deal with the Taliban to pay tens of millions of dollars (they would call it international aid or something like that instead of a ransom) to allow U.S. citizens passage to the airport.
 
According to Tsarfati, some officials believe the Taliban then started obstructing those trying to get to the airport because the Taliban would get more international aid/ransom for many hostages than they would get for a few hostages.
 
The Biden administration then said it had credible information that there would be more terrorist attacks, and it started warning U.S. citizens not to go to the airport (even though they had just 3 days to get there before the Aug. 31 deadline).
 
Think about this: the Biden administration was relying on a terrorist organization called the Taliban (that released thousands of ISIS terrorists from prison) to protect our troops and citizens from a terrorist attack.
 
When a U.S. Marine battalion commander created and posted a video criticizing our leaders and demanding accountability for the death of the Marines and Navy officer, he was relieved of his command.
 
Our leaders (under the influence of the shadow government) are:
 

• The ones that gave the names, addresses and biometric I.D. information on U.S. citizens and our Afghan allies to the Taliban terrorists.
• The ones that abandoned billions of dollars of weapons to the terrorist Taliban and won’t protect our border with Mexico.
• The ones that turned hundreds of thousands of guns over to the terrorist Taliban and want to take guns away from U.S. citizens (don’t forget that former Pres. Obama also gave guns to the Mexican drug cartels).
• The ones that are bussing and flying unvaccinated immigrants with Covid-19 into our nation and want to force U.S. citizens to be vaccinated or lose their job.
• The ones that we are trusting to defend our homeland from terrorists, a North Korea EMP attack, a sneak attack by China, etc.

 
Who will protect America from the Shadow government and their Antichrist?
 
If the Biden administration would give the names, addresses and biometric I.D. information of U.S. citizens to Taliban terrorists, why wouldn’t they give that, or vaccination records, or any other information to the head of a world government?
 
Two, concerning deceit: Biden said, “It is unlikely the Taliban will take over Afghanistan.” (The Taliban took over Afghanistan.)
 
Biden said, “No Americans will be left behind.” (Americans have been left behind). On Aug. 30, 2021, Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of the U.S. Central Command, said hundreds (perhaps in the low hundreds) of Americans have been left behind, but others said it could be thousands.
 
Biden’s campaign slogan was “Build Back Better.” (Afghanistan has been destroyed, and the women in a nation of 35 million people have been enslaved).
 
Biden also said the election was fair, the vaccinations work, etc.?
 
This reminds me of the king that wore no clothes and no one would tell him.
 
Update One: On Aug. 31, 2021, it was reported that the Taliban is already going from house to house and executing people.
 
Update Two: On Aug. 31, 2021, a video was posted of the Taliban flying a U.S. Blackhawk helicopter over Kandahar with a body hanging below it.
 
Update Three: On Aug. 31, 2021, it was reported that 90 U.S. Generals and Admirals have signed a letter calling for the resignation of Sec. of State Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Milley for botching the Afghanistan pull out. (Biden calls it a great success.)
 
Three, it is being reported that the shadow government and their Democrat puppets are between a rock and a hard place with Pres. Biden.
 
With 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans, the U.S. Senate is split, and Vice-Pres. Kamala Harris can break ties by casting the deciding vote.
 
If Biden dies or is removed, Harris will replace Biden, and the power to break tie votes (including a vote on anyone that is nominated to replace Harris) will switch from Harris to Mitch McConnell (and control of the U.S. Senate will switch from Harris and the Democrats to McConnell and the Republicans).
 
This could threaten the Democrats’ entire agenda, so the shadow government must keep Biden in office if they can.
 
Four, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog, on Aug. 25, 2021, the head of Israel’s Defense Forces said Israel has speeded up its plans to deal with Iran’s nuclear program, and money has been budgeted to address the issue.
 
He added that a team has been assembled to prepare for a strike should one be ordered by the Israeli government.
 
Five, also concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on Aug. 27, 2021, Israeli Prime Min. Naftali Bennett met with Pres. Biden at the White House.
 
Advance reporting indicated that Biden would ask Bennett for two things: 1) A freeze on all settlement construction, and 2) A promise not to attack Iran without U.S. permission.
 
Said reporting indicated that Bennett would tell Biden the U.S. must immediately deal with Iran’s efforts to build nuclear weapons, or Israel will.
 
It is obvious that Israel is preparing to strike Iran in the coming weeks if the U.S. and others fail to act.
 
It is also obvious that Biden hasn’t been told what the Bible says about this, or he doesn’t remember it, or he doesn’t believe it.
 
This doesn’t bode well for the U.S.
 
Update One: Following the meeting, it was reported that Bennett told reporters:
 

• “These very days (a reference to what is happening in Afghanistan) illustrate what the world would look like if a radical Islamic regime acquired a nuclear weapon; that marriage would be a nuclear nightmare for the entire world.”
• “We (Israel) will never outsource our security” (never turn control of Israel’s security over to the U.S.).”

 
Update Two: On Aug. 30, 2021, Israel 365News reported that Biden nodded off to sleep while Bennett was talking during their meeting (it is on video).
 
These are perilous times, and anyone that says Pres. Biden is qualified to lead the U.S./free world is lying or uninformed.
 
It is likely that the calls to revise or reset global governance (replace Biden with leaders from a handful of nations; ten) will soon grow louder.
 
Update Three: On Aug. 30, prophecy teacher Amir Tsarfati reported that Iran has decided that America is weak and will now go “full-blown nuclear.”
 
He added that Iran is now “openly enriching uranium to 90%.”
 
Six, concerning war between Israel and her neighbors: on Aug. 29, 2021, the head of Israel’s Defense Forces said, “The IDF is preparing, with a concerted effort, for the possibility of another operation (war) in Gaza.”
 
His statement followed the launching of several incendiary balloons and rockets into Israel and two weeks of violent protests.
 
Another war in Gaza could lead to several prophesied wars.
 
Seven, concerning perilous times (also the Kings of the East): on Aug. 30, 2021, prophecy teacher Amir Tsarfati noted that “China just announced that any vessel, whether it is above the water or under the water, that is entering into Chinese territorial waters or the disputed waters in the South China Sea with Japan and the Philippines must report to the Chinese.”
 
Many officials believe the disputed waters that China is claiming are international waters, meaning China’s claim is illegal.
 
Tsarfati added, “While everybody is watching the incompetence of America, (Russia, Turkey, Iran, China and No. Korea) are willing to make a move.”
 
Eight, concerning the Mark of the Beast and a global tracking system, on Aug. 30, 2021, it was reported that the World Health Organization (WHO) is urging its member nations to “roll out a global digital information system to check if people are vaccinated against Covid-19.”
 
The WHO wants its member nations to force this system on all other nations, and it wants people that have been vaccinated (and are in this global system) to have benefits that others that are not in it won’t have.
 
This would be a major step toward a global medical dictatorship.
 
Nine, concerning a falling away in the Church: Harvard University was founded under Church sponsorship in 1636 to train Puritan pastors. On Aug. 26, 2021, it was reported that the president of Harvard’s organization of Chaplains is an atheist, meaning Harvard has a Chaplain that doesn’t believe in the existence of God.
 
If the elite that control a prestigious, once-Christian university are willing to allow a Chaplain that doesn’t believe in the existence of God, why is it so difficult to believe that other elite want to establish a godless world government and religion?
 
If their Chaplain doesn’t believe what the Bible says about God, why should he believe what the Bible says about Satan, the Antichrist, or anything else, and why should any true Church want a pastor that was educated at that institution?
 
By the way, it is being reported that, as things now stand, universities cannot force student organizations on campus to have pro-LGBTQ officers, pro-abortion officers, etc., but the Biden administration is considering ways to change that.
 
Ten, on Aug. 27, 2021, LifeSiteNews reported that the head of the Tokyo Medical Association announced that Ivermectin “seems to be effective at stopping COVID-19 and publicly recommended that all doctors in Japan immediately begin using Ivermectin to treat COVID.”
 
Currently, America’s shadow government, in collusion with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), big pharma, the social media, and others, is suppressing the use of Ivermectin.
 
Why would these groups suppress the use of an inexpensive, effective drug that will stop Covid and save lives?
 
Could the belief that Covid is a created crisis that has been designed to reduce the population of the earth, control people, bring in a world government, make the rich richer, etc., be true?
 
Eleven, on Aug. 21, 2021, it was reported that less than one-third of the people that have died from the Delta variant in the U.K. (Feb. 1, 2021, to Aug. 2021) have been people that were unvaccinated. (Two-thirds of the people that have died from the Delta Variant in the U.K. are people that have been vaccinated).
 
Put another way, the U.K. data is showing that vaccinated people are more likely to die from the Delta Variant than unvaccinated people.
 
Twelve, concerning deceit: on Aug. 30, 2021, it was reported that about two dozen nurses told people at a town hall meeting in Minnesota that adverse reactions to the Covid-19 vaccination are being underreported, and one nurse said her friends at other hospitals are saying the same thing.
 
Thirteen, according to the Bible, the Euphrates River will dry up during the Tribulation Period to prepare the way for the Kings of the East (Rev. 16:12).
 
On Aug. 31, 2021, it was reported that the Euphrates River is drying up fast and barely running for a distance of about 1,700 miles.
 
Different officials are blaming Climate Change, drought, and Turkey for building dams on the river and holding back too much water.
 
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
 
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

Israel -- no longer diplomatically isolated -- appears to be assuming a more prominent political and military role in the Middle East. Following Israel's generous peace terms with its Arab neighbors, states such as Egypt and Jordan decided decades ago to establish diplomatic relations with the Jewish state. More recently, Islamic countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan also decided to normalize ties with Israel. Presently, these strong new ties appear to be leading to cooperation on an ever-deeper strategic level, especially regarding the destabilizing threat to the area posed by an increasingly aggressive and hegemonic Iran.
 
Currently -- excluding its ventures into South America from where it can more easily threaten North America -- Iran, sometimes via proxies such as the Houthis, Hamas or Hezbollah -- has successfully inserted itself into Yemen, in a seeming bid to overthrow and supplant Saudi Arabia, as well as in Iraq, Bahrain, Syria, Libya, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
 
Iran's increasingly aggressive policies toward these regional states has accelerated the cooperation between primarily Sunni Muslim Arab Gulf states and Israel. The Sunni-Shia theological civil war within Islam still appears to be fueling the destabilization of the Middle East -- especially with the recently renewed courtship by the US administration of the Middle East's greatest disrupter, Iran.
 
The first time around, during the Obama years, one might understand the fantasy that enriching and empowering Iran might lead it to give up its long-desired nuclear program and expansionist activities, not to mention the extreme abuses of its citizens at home. Now, however, the world has seen that the plan did not work, and that Iran had been cheating all along, anyhow.
 
What in the world, then, is the US expecting from repeating this disastrous exercise? For both the Israelis and the Gulf's Arab monarchies, Iran's Shia regional empire and drive to lead the Muslim world is still justifiably considered an existential threat.
 
Israel's rising stature as a military power in the region is clearly a by-product of the new US policy decision to reduce its own military presence in the Mideast. This US decision was taken, presumably to confront more significant national security challenges such as China's rapidly expanding power in Pacific Asia. This US move, however, creates a power vacuum that only Israel is capable of filling. Only Israel appears to have the will and resources to confront the twin challenge to Western civilization presented by a revolutionary Iran and Islamic extremism.
 
The Israel Air Force bombing of Iran's growing military assets in western Syria opposite the Jewish state's Golan Heights area is relentless. Additionally, Israel's continued targeting of Iran's ships in regional waters is a boost to Gulf State morale and added proof that the decision of the Arab monarchies' leadership to reach out to Israel was the right choice. Israel may also be messaging the Biden administration that it will not be restrained by any US sensitivities if the national security interests of the Israeli nation-state are at risk.
 
Israel's prestige among its neighbors is buoyed by its reputation for scientific, technological and medical advances as well as its entrepreneurial spirit, which also have attracted the admiration of regional states.
 
One Israeli opportunity to demonstrate that it remains a "strong horse" may be a future decision to strengthen Saudi Arabia's air defense against Iranian missile attacks or pro-Iranian Houthi launches of armed drones from Yemen. Such a decision could help protect the oil kingdom's petroleum industry facilities. Another option that Israel, with its sophisticated, multilevel air defense systems, could implement is helping to draw Jordan into a defense partnership that might strengthen the threatened rule of King Abdullah II in Amman. Israel also might have more flexibility than the US to improve diplomatic relations with either Turkey or Russia, neither of which is presumably eager to see Syria become a permanent vassal state of Iran.
 
Perhaps, the most impressive Israeli performance that may have strengthened the resolve of neighboring states is the continued success of Israel's intelligence agencies in collecting information on Iran's nuclear weapons programs. Israel's multi-dimensional and aggressive defense of regional stability is also likely eventually to draw more regional Islamic states to embrace the "Abraham Accords."
 
Those involved in policy in the US Department of State and intelligence agencies might do well not to doubt Israel's will to act unilaterally in its own interest -- and, ironically, the interests of the United States and the Free World -- despite pressure from its American ally, which has sometimes been known to recommend sacrificial self-restraint.

In these troubled times, it pays to be on alert, because global events are moving at a pace that is absolutely breathtaking. But I will be on a higher state of alert than usual during the month of September, and I will explain why in this article. Many people instinctively understand that things are taking a very bad turn, and sales at emergency food companies have gone through the roof in recent months. Unfortunately, the vast majority of those that are feverishly preparing don’t understand the bigger picture, and that is one of the reasons why I wrote my new book. I want people to understand where we are in history and the extremely chaotic times that are rapidly approaching. The Bible has a tremendous amount to say about the period of time that we commonly refer to as “the end times” or “the last days”, and I believe that it won’t be too long before God starts intervening in the affairs of humanity in some pretty extraordinary ways.
 
Of course God already intervenes in our affairs far more than most people realize.
 
Let me give you just one recent example. Over the past several decades, whenever there has been a significant event that has involved the federal government pushing for the division of the land of Israel, the U.S. has been hit with a major disaster very shortly thereafter. A few years ago I published an article that included 10 prominent examples, and it was shared more than 8,000 times on social media.
 
Unfortunately, our leaders never seem to learn no matter how many times the pattern repeats.
 
And now the pattern has repeated again. On August 27th, Joe Biden and new Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met to discuss relations between our two nations. Going into the meeting, we knew that the Biden administration was passionately committed to a “two state solution”, and we knew that Bennett wanted the Biden administration to end nuclear talks with Iran. Apparently the meeting did not go well, and less than two hours after the meeting Ida strengthened into a hurricane. The following timeline comes from William Koenig’s website…
 
· Biden-Bennett’s meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 26 at 11:30 a.m. EDT. Rescheduled to next day
 
· Advisory #1 on Tropical Depression 9, Thursday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. EDT
 
· Tropical Storm Ida formed Thursday, August 26 at 5:00 p.m. EDT
 
· Biden and Bennett met Friday, August 27 at 11:30 a.m. EDT
 
· Ida strengthened into a hurricane Friday, August 27 at 1:15 p.m. EDT
 
· Ida came ashore as a category 4 hurricane at 150 mph at Port Fourchon oil hub, Sunday, August 29 at 11:55 a.m. CDT
 
· Ida came ashore on August 29, the 16th anniversary of Katrina in the same general area.
 
Hurricane Ida went on to cause tremendous devastation in the Northeast as well, and it is being estimated that the total economic damage from the storm will be somewhere around 95 billion dollars.
 
Sadly, most people would simply dismiss this as just another “coincidence” in a very long string of “coincidences”.
 
No matter how much evidence you show some people, they will never believe.
 
The same thing is true when it comes to God’s calendar. From the very beginning, God has had His own calendar, and it is very different from our calendar.
 
For instance, God’s days don’t start at midnight. That is an entirely arbitrary human invention.
 
God’s days begin at sunset, and we see this all throughout the Bible.
 
And there are certain days throughout the year that God has set aside as particularly special. They are His “appointed times”, and historically they have been incredibly significant. Over and over again we have seen God do big things during His appointed times, but even most Christians do not understand this pattern.
 
Just look at the ministry of Jesus. The appointed times that fall in the spring perfectly foreshadowed the most critical events at the end of His ministry. Jesus was crucified on Passover, He was put into the tomb just in time for the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, He rose from the dead on Firstfruits, and the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Apostles on Pentecost.
 
The appointed times in the spring are prophetic shadow pictures that were fulfilled down to the smallest detail by the first coming of Jesus. No other religion on the entire planet has anything like this.
 
And just as the appointed times in the spring were fulfilled by the first coming of Jesus, so will the appointed times in the fall be fulfilled by the second coming of Jesus.
 
I am certainly not saying that any particular event will happen during any particular year, but each year we want to be alert for whatever God may want to do during His appointed times.
 
This year, all of the appointed times that arrive in the fall just happen to occur during the month of September…
 
-The Feast of Trumpets (also commonly known as Rosh Hashanah) begins when the sun goes down on Monday, September 6th.
 
-Yom Kippur begins when the sun goes down on Wednesday, September 15th.
 
-The Feast of Tabernacles begins when the sun goes down on Monday, September 20th.
 
In recent years, an increasing number of Christians have started to celebrate these appointed times. Every single one of them throughout the year tells part of the story of Jesus, and when you understand how God orchestrated very elaborate prophetic patterns centuries in advance it will greatly strengthen your faith.
 
As we move into the upcoming appointed times and the remainder of 2021, there are certain things that I will be watching very carefully.
 
Once again, I will have my eyes on Israel. It has been described as God’s timepiece, and it will be the center of so much that happens during these last days.
 
If you hear of anything strange or unusual happening in the land of Israel in the coming days, please let me know about it.
 
And I will definitely do my best to share with my readers anything that I discover.
 
In the months ahead, I will also be watching for war. I think that Israel and Iran are so close to military conflict, and there are other hotspots around the globe that could suddenly erupt as well.
 
We are moving into very chaotic times, and most people will be absolutely blindsided by the events that are coming.
 
But the Bible warned us about all of these things in advance so that we could have hope. In the end, Jesus will return to this planet and set everything right, and that is definitely a future that we can look forward to with great joy.

The screen shows images of a little girl. She smiles and laughs, obviously enjoying her conversation with the man behind the camera. Later we learn that he joked around with and gave candy to lots of children like her. Everything about the exchange tells you that the man is someone special — warm, caring, thoughtful.
 
Then we see the TV anchorman and he identifies the man as United States Marine Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui. We are seeing the footage and hearing his story because the Lance Corporal died soon after his interaction with the Afghan child.
 
Kareem Nikoui did not die alone. At least 169 Afghan civilians lost their lives in the same terror attack. In addition to Kareem, American military personnel who died that day include, Navy Corpsman Max Soviak, 22… Army Staff Sergeant Ryan Knauss, 23… Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Darin Hoover Jr., 31… Marine Corps Sergeant Johanny Pichardo, 25… Marine Corps Sergeant Nicole Gee, 23… Marine Corps Corporal Hunter Lopez, 22… Marine Corps Corporal Daegan Page, 23… Marine Corps Corporal Humberto Sanchez, 22… Marine Corps Lance Corporal David Espinoza, 20… Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, 20… Marine Corps Lance Corporal Rylee McCollum, 20… Marine Corps Lance Corporal Dylan Merola, 20.
 
In addition, 150 people were injured, including 18 US military personnel.
 
The news media will soon forget Kareem and the others. The broadcasters and bloggers will soon go on to something else. But their families will not forget. They will carry pain from August 26, 2021, for the rest of their lives. They will also carry the joyful memories of those they loved, gone too soon.
 
These are not just names on a list. Each one is precious beyond words, made in God’s image — men and women for whom Christ died.
 
In John 15:12-13, Jesus said, “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
 
Jesus Himself is the ultimate example of the selfless love He taught. But each of these young people also expressed this great love. They expressed it with their lives, and they expressed it in their deaths.
 
The first American to die in the Afghanistan war was Nathan Chapman on January 4, 2002. When they were loading his coffin to be transported back to the United States, they realized that no one had an American flag. So, to place on the coffin, they used a flag patch torn off the uniform of an airman who was helping load it.
 
With practice — too much practice — they would get better with the details. In twenty years of war, 3,576 coalition forces would die — 2,420 of those from the United States. Approximately 20,000 members of the American military would be wounded.
 
Many of those wounded, along with the loved ones of the dead, keep on paying a terrible price. But as David would say shortly before his battle with Goliath, “Is there not a cause?”

In John chapter 21, the Bible tells us about a time in-between Christ’s resurrection and His ascension where He had a special ministry with His disciples. The disciples are at the sea of Galilee and Peter, in particular, is still raw and obviously troubled by his miserable failing where he denied the Lord three times. He tells the other disciples that he is going fishing and they reply that they will join him.
 
They fish all night long and catch nothing, and in the early hours of the morning, the Lord manifests Himself to them on the beach and asks them if they have caught any fish. How embarrassing. Professional fisherman, fishing all night and failing to catch anything! I bet they didn’t want to answer Jesus' question, but they answer “no” and Jesus tells them to cast their net on the other side of the boat.
 
Imagine what they are thinking at this point? Told to do something so simple....... Cast your net on the opposite side of the boat, but they do what Jesus says and haul in a massive load of fish. They get to shore and join Jesus on the beach who has already laid a charcoal fire and has some fish and bread already cooking. He tells them to bring over more of the fish they have just caught and continues cooking their breakfast.
 
I love that Jesus cares about their physical needs and I think this is a great example of Jesus showing them what it will be like when they too are in resurrected bodies and will be enjoying food when they depart this life. We won't be like ghosts, sitting around on white clouds and playing harps, but enjoying a real physical experience!

 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
 
So the Lord IS interested in ALL of our needs, including our physical well-being and our spiritual well-being. In John 21 Jesus is meeting the physical needs of His disciples by providing them with a bountiful catch of fish and cooking them breakfast. And then it’s time to take care of Peter’s spiritual well-being and his restoration.
 
John 21:15-17
 
Jesus Restores Peter
 
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that Iove You.”
He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”
And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
 
So first he meets Peter’s physical needs and then He takes on the broken fellowship issue, which is what sin does. Sin in a believer's life does not cause us to lose our salvation, however, it breaks our fellowship with our Lord. This is why we need to come to Jesus and ask Him for forgiveness and He will restore our relationship with Him.
 
1 John 1:9
 
 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
 
Jesus is making Peter remember his bragging the other night where he claimed to love Jesus more than the other disciples did. Jesus is humbling him, whittling him down and even referring to him as Simon, his old name. 
 
So here is a FULL restoration and here the Lord is deepening Peter’s relationship with Him. In the process, Jesus is putting a calling on Peter’s life. This man who denied the Lord three times, whose mouth was used as an instrument of Satan to try and talk Jesus out of going to the Cross, who after stepping out onto the water, lost faith and sank into the sea.
 
Some people would look at this man as a failure, someone who would be disqualified from ministry. Yet what is the Lord doing here in this restoration process? The Lord is giving Peter a ministry to “Feed my sheep” which is one of the most important responsibilities of a pastor/teacher in a church. It can also be true for those who are in the important position of teaching children whether in the home or as a Sunday school teacher.
 
 Jesus is not only giving him his ministry assignment but revealing his destiny.
 
 Jesus reveals to him the kind of death he would suffer down the track in His name.
 
Peter would eventually be crucified upside down because he didn’t feel worthy enough to die the way Jesus had. Even in death, he would glorify the Lord. And even after this restoration and calling into ministry, Peter was still bumbling and putting his foot in his mouth.
 
As Jesus and the men are walking along, Peter points to John and asks the Lord what He plans to do with him. Jesus turns and says that it is none of his business what Jesus does with John. The Lord is basically saying “It is none of your business what I do with John. I’ll take care of that person. I want you in a personal walk with me and you, as an individual, follow ME”.
 
There are times when we get mixed up and confused by life and we run in the wrong direction. There are times when we fail friends and family and our own expectations of ourselves, and we fail the Lord. When that happens, we might expect the Lord to leave us in the back room of self-pity for a bit to lick our wounds.
 
But Jesus calls us to come back into the fight. He loves us and has plans for us, and now more than ever in these last days He needs a people who will love Him with all of their hearts and souls and are willing to get back into the game after set-backs and failures and to be that shining beacon on the hill for the lost and dying and to encourage others, and be a feeder of His Sheep.
 
Jesus restored Peter and he will restore you. No more regrets.

I heard about some Christians who were standing by the side of a road, holding up a hand-lettered sign with these words: The End Is Near. Turn around before It’s Too Late.
 
Someone drove by them, hit the brakes, rolled down his window, and shouted, “You stupid Christians! Why don’t you just leave people alone?”
 
Then he rolled up his window and hit the accelerator. A couple of moments passed, and they heard a loud splash. One of them turned to the others and said, “Maybe we should just put up a sign that says bridge out instead.”
 
We can find a lot of signs, a lot of warnings, that are saying one thing: get ready because Jesus Christ is coming back. Just look at our world today. New terms have entered our vocabulary such as pandemic, social distancing, and herd immunity.
 
Here’s another word that we’re hearing more often: plagues. We’ve heard the Old Testament story of the plagues that came upon Egypt. But we’ve also had plagues throughout history. And the Bible tells us that in the last days, there will be an increase of plagues.
 
A headline last March in The Jerusalem Post asked, “Why do some Christians believe coronavirus is an apocalyptic prophecy?”
 
The answer is because the Bible says we would see this sort of thing in the last days. In fact, the Bible tells us to look for a lot of things. It compares end-times events to labor pains that get closer and closer together when a woman is ready to give birth.
 
The Bible says that when you see these things not only happen, but happen with more intensity, that’s a sign the end is near.
 
When we’re right with God, we look forward to His return. It keeps us on our toes spiritually. And it causes us to want to live godly lives.
