Iniquity and Cold Love - By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2021/03/07/iniquity-and-cold-love-by-daymond-duck/
Here are 10 reasons why people would be wise to study Bible prophecy.
When asked about the signs of His coming, Jesus said, “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matt. 24:12). Iniquity and a declining love for God are not new, but they appear to be spreading globally, and they are rapidly spreading in the U.S. Notice the following examples. One, concerning persecution, the Biden administration is supporting a misnamed piece of legislation called the “Equality Act.” Franklin Graham said, “The Equality Act is a threat to life as we know it in our nation.” Tony Perkins, Pres. of the Family Research Council, said it will be “a catastrophic loss of religious freedom in America.” It is about forcing everyone in the U.S. to adopt the government’s position on gay rights; transgender surgeries; forcing churches, Christian organizations, schools, hospitals, and others to hire gays, not criticize gays, accept gay marriage, pay for transformation surgeries, allow males to call themselves female to compete in female sports, use female locker rooms, female bathrooms, etc. Simply put, it is about controlling the citizens of the U.S. It will destroy freedom of speech in America and authorize stiff punishment of those that don’t comply. On Feb. 25, 2021, the Democrat-controlled House (and 3 Republicans) passed the bill, and it will now go to the U.S. Senate where it will need 60 votes. Two, the Antichrist will head up a godless world government, and I have often mentioned that the current Democrat Party left all mention of God out of their party platform. On Feb. 26, 2021, the Equality Act was being debated in the U.S. House of Representatives, and several Republicans accused the Democrats of ignoring Biblical values by supporting abortion, same-sex marriage, gender identity, etc. Greg Steube, a Republican from Florida, said, “When men or women claim to be able to choose their own sexual identity, they are making a statement that God did not know what he was doing when he created them.” Jerry Nadler, a Democrat from New York, said, “What any religious tradition describes as God’s will is no concern of this Congress.” America is now a godless nation, run by a godless party in a godless world, and that is a strong sign that the judgment of God will follow. Trump has been censored, but God cannot be censored without consequences. Three, concerning a departing from the faith in America, a recent Barna survey of voters in the 2020 presidential election found:
It is getting easier to believe that God will remove (Rapture) His Church and let this godless world have what it is asking for (and it won’t be pretty). Four, on Feb. 28, 2021, Pres. Trump spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference CPAC). One reporter, Dave Kubal (President and CEO of Intercessors for America), said he heard a couple of themes: 1) Trump sees his followers as part of a movement that wants something done about the corruption in government, and 2) They want their government to support godly values. In other words, Trump believes he represents people that want the Constitution to be followed, laws to be enforced, and the Judeo-Christian values that America was founded upon to be maintained. Referring to the Republican Party/the American people, Trump said, we’re “in the middle of a historic struggle for America’s future, America’s culture, and America’s institutions, borders, and most cherished principles.” He said, “In one short month (under Biden), we have gone from “America First” to “America Last.” These are striking statements considering that the Bible teaches godless government will prevail over the whole earth before the Second Coming of Jesus. Five, some prophecy teachers have referred to the rebuilding of the ancient city of Babylon as the last great sign to be fulfilled in Bible prophecy. Saddam Hussein started rebuilding the ancient city of Babylon in the 1980s, but since he was in a costly war with Iran, he had to stop. Several improvements have been made at the city since Saddam’s time, and the UN has designated it as a World Heritage Site, but that is not enough. On Feb. 23, 2021, it was reported that the Iraqi government is determined to rebuild their nation and its ancient city (one of the 7 wonders of the world). They already have small groups of tourists to the area, a few hotels have been built, and there are boat rides on the Euphrates River, but they want to do more. Starting on Mar. 5, 2021, Pope Francis will spend 4 days touring sites in Iraq (the land of Babylon) that Iraqi officials want to use to draw tourists (perhaps pilgrimages) and international funding for construction projects in Babylon. Six, on Mar. 1, 2021, it was reported that a cornerstone-laying ceremony will be held (on Mar. 27, 2021) to initiate 4 years of construction on a $57 million religious center in Germany. The religious center called “The House of One” (some call it a Churmosquagogue) will house a Church, Mosque and Synagogue under one roof so Christians, Muslims, Jews, and others can worship in the same building (and perhaps together). Seven, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog and Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons:
We don’t know when, but prophecy teachers believe the stage is being set for this great battle. Finally, if you want to go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this. Prophecy Plus Ministries, Inc. Daymond Duck [email protected] 9 Signs That Chess Pieces Are Being Moved Into Place For A Major War In The Middle East - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/9-signs-that-chess-pieces-are-being-moved-into-place-for-a-major-war-in-the-middle-east/ The American people are really going to regret putting the warmongers back in control. Joe Biden has been in the White House for less than two months, and the warmongers that Biden has surrounded himself with have been feverishly setting the stage for the next war in the Middle East. I do not believe that it will start within the next week, but I do believe that it is inevitable. While President Trump was in the White House for four years, the U.S. didn’t start any new conflicts, but now the Biden administration is quite determined to start projecting “American influence” all over the globe once again. Most Americans don’t understand the bigger picture, but the truth is that this is going to have very serious implications over the next few years. In this article, I would like to examine some of the chess moves that have been made since Joe Biden entered the White House. As you will see, a very troubling picture emerges once you start putting all of the pieces together. #1 Literally one day after Biden was inaugurated, a massive U.S. military convoy rolled into Syria… A large US military convoy entered northeastern Syria on Thursday, Syrian state news agency SANA reports, citing sources on the ground. According to the report, the convoy included some 40 trucks and armored vehicles and was backed from the air by helicopters. President Trump had tried very hard to disengage from the war in Syria, but Biden has made it crystal clear that the U.S. will be heavily involved in that conflict moving forward. #2 Just a few weeks later, Joe Biden conducted his first airstrike against Iranian-backed forces inside Syria… The US has carried out an air strike targeting Iran-backed militias in Syria, in the first military action undertaken by the Biden administration. The Pentagon said the strike destroyed “multiple facilities” and was ordered in response to attacks against US and coalition personnel in Iraq. Militia officials said one person had been killed but a war monitor reported at least 22 fatalities. #3 Of course it was inevitable that Iranian-backed forces would respond, and they retaliated by launching rockets at a military base in Iraq where U.S. forces are stationed. Just a couple days ago, new Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that there will be a U.S. military response “at a time and place of our own choosing”… Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin tells @MarthaRaddatz the U.S. is still assessing who carried out recent rocket attack on base in Iraq housing U.S. troops—and that if the U.S. decides to respond, it will be “at a time and place of our own choosing.” #4 More U.S. airstrikes may come sooner rather than later. In fact, it is being reported that the U.S. has just sent six B-52 bombers to Diego Garcia… The U.S. Air Force is sending six B-52 Stratofortress bombers to Diego Garcia, a military hub that acts as a strategic location for operations in both the Middle East and the Pacific. Citing a U.S. official, CNN on Monday reported that the Cold War-era bomber will be “available for operations against Iran if ordered.” #5 The Biden administration is also sending approximately 10,000 more U.S. troops to the Middle East… Once the amphibious assault ship Bataan, which is moving toward the Middle East, arrives, the U.S. will have added roughly 10,000 personnel to the area within the last week, according to The Wall Street Journal. #6 Russia has been busy making moves in the region as well. On Friday, Russia conducted an air strike on an oil-loading facility in Syria that is used by opposition forces that are backed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the Biden administration… A suspected missile strike on an oil-loading facility used by Turkey-backed opposition forces in northern Syria sparked a massive blaze across a large area where oil tankers are normally parked, aerial and satellite images show. Syrian opposition groups and at least one war monitor blamed Russia for the strike Friday night near the towns of Jarablus and al-Bab, near the border with Turkey. In a report, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in Britain, said Russian warships in the Mediterranean had fired three missiles that struck primitive oil refineries and tanker trucks in the region. #7 Meanwhile, Israel continues to hit strategically important targets inside Syria on a regular basis. The following comes from a news report that was published in late February… Syrian air defenses were activated in the capital Damascus and its southern suburbs Sunday night to repel an Israeli missile attack, state media reported. There was no word on casualties. State TV quoted an unnamed military official as saying that most of the Israeli missiles were shot down before reaching their targets near Damascus. #8 Israel is particularly interested in keeping Iran from developing nuclear weapons. In an interview with Fox News, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz just stated that Israel is ready to attack Iran without any U.S. help… The Israeli military is updating plans to strike Iranian nuclear sites and is prepared to act independently, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz told Fox News. Israel has identified numerous targets inside Iran that would hurt its ability to develop a nuclear bomb. “If the world stops them before, it’s very much good. But if not, we must stand independently and we must defend ourselves by ourselves,” Gantz said in his first sit-down interview with an American outlet. #9 During a phone call last Thursday between Kamala Harris and Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister made it exceedingly clear that his nation is ready to do whatever it takes to prevent the Iranians from developing their own nukes… “The prime minister said we would continue to strengthen our intelligence and security cooperation and said during their conversation that as prime minister of Israel, he is totally committed to preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons that are meant for our destruction.” Of course the Iranians have no plans to back down, and that makes a military conflict between Israel and Iran inevitable. There will be war in the Middle East, and the horror of that conflict will shock the entire planet. And once that war begins, it will greatly accelerate our economic problems and the ongoing political turmoil in this country. So enjoy this brief period of relative stability while you can, because our world is about to start changing in dramatic ways. Biden abandons Middle East peace – Caroline Glick - https://www.jns.org/opinion/biden-abandons-middle-east-peace/ Lip service aside, the administration’s moves make clear that for Biden and his advisers, Arab-Israel peace is an impediment to their ideologically motivated efforts to empower the PLO and Iran. The Trump administration was on the verge of securing a peace agreement between Israel and Indonesia in its final weeks in office, according to a former senior Trump administration official involved in the efforts. The official divulged that the negotiations between Israel and the world’s most populous Muslim state were run by then-President Donald Trump’s senior adviser Jared Kushner and Adam Boehler, then-head of the International Development Finance Corporation. Israel was represented by then-Ambassador Ron Dermer and Indonesia by Minister Mohamed Lutfi. To secure peace, Boehler told Bloomberg News last December, the United States would be willing to provide Indonesia with an additional “one or two billion dollars” in aid. Indonesia was interested in Israeli technology and even wanted the Technion to open a campus in Jakarta. It wanted visa-free travel to the Jewish state and Arab and U.S. investment in its sovereign wealth fund. Israel wanted Indonesia to end its economic boycott of the Jewish state. Direct flights from Tel Aviv to Bali were on the table. The advantages of peace between Israel and Indonesia for both sides are self-evident. But such a peace would also pay a huge dividend to the United States in its burgeoning cold war with China. An expanded strategic and economic partnership with the archipelago and ASEAN member would be a setback for China’s efforts to dominate the South China Sea, particularly with Indonesia playing a role in an Islamic-Israeli alliance led by the United States. “We got the ball on Indonesia and Israel to the first-yard line,” the official explained. Unfortunately, the Biden administration has dropped the ball on the ground and walked off the field. On the surface, the Biden administration is interested in promoting peace. President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have praised the Abraham Accords, as well they should. For 26 years, the Arab conflict with Israel was ignored and left to fester. Then suddenly, in Trump’s last year in office, the situation was reversed as four Arab states rapidly normalized their ties with Israel. Expanding the accords to Indonesia, with its massive population and strategic location outside the Middle East, would have transformed a strategic regional shift into a game-changer throughout Asia. But despite the strategic logic of expanding the Abraham Accords and the praise Biden and Blinken have given them, starting in its first week in office, the new administration’s actions have served to undermine the accords by removing their American foundations. A week into the Biden administration, the State Department announced it was “placing a hold” on the $23 billion sale of F-35s to the United Arab Emirates. The move was presented as “a routine administrative action typical to most any transition.” But suspending the sale was a strategic move, not an “administrative action.” The normalization deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates was a three-sided agreement. The Americans were full participants. The F-35 sale was America’s way to solidify the UAE’s membership in an American-led regional alliance of which the Abraham Accords were an expression. Suspending the deal indicated that unlike its predecessor, the Biden administration will not work to strengthen its alliance with the Sunni Arabs and Israel, and will not fulfill the commitments that the Trump administration took on to develop and maintain that alliance through Arab-Israeli peace. Biden’s abandonment of the Abraham Accords can be understood in the context of U.S. politics. In keeping with the expectations of Democrat voters, Biden and his team are making efforts in domestic and foreign policy to erase the entirety of Trump’s record in office. Although remaining a party to the Abraham Accords and expanding them to Indonesia and beyond would probably win Biden the Nobel Peace Prize, it would put him in the partisan doghouse for the crime of failing to kill something Trump created. But while political logic exists, not everything is political. For Biden and his administration, ideology trumps politics. The Biden administration is the most ideologically rigid and radical administration in U.S. history. Hyper-partisan politics are a function of the administration’s ideological radicalism. As far as the Middle East is concerned, its ideological commitments drive it to empower the PLO-controlled Palestinian Authority and Iran. From their first days in office, senior Biden administration officials have pledged to restore U.S. funding of the P.A. There are significant legal roadblocks to implementing that pledge because so long as the P.A. continues to pay the salaries of terrorists and advances war crimes allegations against Israel before the International Criminal Court, the United States is barred from funding it or reopening the PLO representative office in Washington. But all the same, the administration is intent on moving forward. The administration’s intense desire to empower the P.A. despite the legal roadblocks indicates one aspect of its opposition to the Abraham Accords. The accords weaken the P.A. by removing its power to block Arab and Islamic states from making peace with Israel. For decades, as Israel’s Palestinian “peace partner” spurned peace and waged terror and political war against Israel, the Arab states accepted that peace between themselves and Israel had to wait. By ignoring the U.S. obligations to Abraham Accords partners and pushing to restore U.S. support to the P.A. despite its illegality, the administration signals its desire to restore the Palestinian veto. The Abraham Accords represent an even greater problem for the administration’s efforts to empower Iran. In a speech on Monday, former secretary of state Mike Pompeo said, “The Abraham Accords would not have happened … without the United States changing its policy with respect to Iran 180 degrees from how the previous administration had addressed the issue.” Now that the Biden administration wishes to move U.S. policy 180 degrees back to reinstate the Obama administration’s policies, the Abraham Accords are a nuisance. Hours before Biden and his advisers accused Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) of approving Jamal Khashoggi’s murder at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018, i24News reported that Israel, Saudi Arabia the UAE and Bahrain were forming a military alliance against Iran. While the events may or may not be related, both make clear why the Biden administration doesn’t want Arab-Israeli or Muslim-Israeli peace deals. Such deals impede the administration’s efforts to empower Iran. Biden’s declared goal vis-à-vis Iran is to restore Iranian compliance and U.S. participation in the 2015 nuclear deal forged by the Obama administration. The so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action places temporary limitations on Iranian nuclear activities in exchange for a massive inflow of capital. To convince Iranian leader Ali Khamenei to get on board, the new administration has provided a near-continuous stream of concessions to Iran and its Yemeni proxy, the Houthis. It removed the Houthis from the State Department’s list of foreign terror organizations and suspended arms sales to Saudi Arabia. The administration’s campaign against MBS is an obvious effort to unseat him and replace him with a less stridently anti-Iran leader. This week the administration’s green-lighted South Korea’s agreement to pay Iran some $7 billion in exchange for the release of a South Korean ship and its crew that Iran unlawfully seized and has held captive since early January. Not only has Iran rejected America’s gestures, but it is also expanding its regional aggression and sprinting to the nuclear finish line. In recent weeks the Iranians attacked the Israeli embassy in New Delhi. They damaged an Israeli-owned ship in the Persian Gulf. And there is growing suspicion that the massive oil spill off Israel’s coast last month which caused massive ecological damage to marine life and to Israel’s coastline was an act of environmental terrorism carried out by a Libyan ship smuggling crude oil from Iran to Syria. Iran’s Houthi proxies have expanded their missile strikes against Saudi Arabia since coming off the U.S. terror list. And while the U.S. uses MBS’s alleged role in killing Khashoggi to justify downgrading its relations with Saudi Arabia, the Iranians are killing scores of democracy protesters in its Baluchistan province. Whereas Khashoggi was a former Saudi intelligence officer and ally of Osama bin Laden who was working with Qatar to undermine the Saudi regime at the time he was killed; the Baluchis are innocent civilians whose sole crime is opposing the repressive regime. As far as Iran’s nuclear program is concerned, in recent days, the Iranians canceled snap inspections of their nuclear sites by U.N. nuclear inspectors. The International Atomic Energy Agency released a report accusing Iran of carrying out prohibited nuclear work at multiple undeclared nuclear sites. Khamenei has threatened to escalate Iran’s uranium enrichment levels to 60 percent. And rather than respond by escalating sanctions against Iran, the European Union—presumably with U.S. approval—scrapped plans to condemn Iran for its illegal behavior at the IAEA’s Board of Governors’ meeting last week. In a press briefing Monday, State Department Spokesman Ned Price said, “We seek to accomplish a great deal with the Saudis: To end the war in Yemen and ease Yemen’s humanitarian crisis; to use our leadership to forge ties across the region’s most bitter divide, whether that’s finding the way back from the brink of war with Iran into a meaningful regional dialogue or forging a historic peace with Israel.” In other words, the administration holds the Saudis solely responsible for the war in Yemen. It also blames Saudi Arabia (and presumably, Israel, the UAE and Bahrain) for being at “the brink of war with Iran,” rather than blaming Iran for bringing the region to the “brink of war” through its terrorist aggression and illicit nuclear activities. The order of Price’s “to-do” list made clear that reaching “a historic peace” between Israel and Saudi Arabia is the administration’s lowest priority. Price served as National Security Council spokesman during the Obama administration. There he played a key role in marketing the JCPOA and developing what his colleague, then deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, referred to as the information “echo chamber” for selling the deal to ignorant reporters in Washington. Last year, in a speech before the National Iranian-American Council (a group widely viewed as the Iranian regime’s unofficial lobby in Washington), Price said that a Biden administration would remove the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps from the State Department list of foreign terror groups. Taken together, the administration’s moves make clear that beyond paying occasional lip service to the Abraham Accords, ending the Arab and Islamic world’s conflict with Israel and forging a wider peace between them is not a goal it wishes to pursue. Indeed, for Biden and his advisers, Arab-Israel peace is an impediment to their ideologically motivated efforts to empower the PLO and Iran. Pope goes back to Babylon - By Joseph Farah - https://www.wnd.com Abraham was called by God out of Babylon and idol worship from the region of a 4,000-year-old Sumerian temple and the palaces known as the Great Ziggurat of Ur of the Chaldees. "Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed," God said in Genesis 12:1-3. It was one of the seminal moments for all people who worship the One True God. It led directly to the Hebrew family and eventually a nation and the Messiah Yeshua, Jesus. Pope Francis went back to Babylon last weekend. Oddly, he didn't say any of that. Much more could be said about Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Jacob, Judah and the line that led to Jesus to made the all-important connection, yet, for some reason, he didn't even start the story. Instead, he told a story of unity – when in reality, the human race is a story of a chosen remnant of people who are triumphant, victorious and blessed like Abraham, who chose to reject his pagan roots and follow God. The pope chose to hold an interreligious meeting where people would all sing kumbaya, forgive ISIS and talk about rebuilding Babylon. Once the land of Iraq had a teaming population of Christians and Jews. The Jews were left to travel across the desert with only the clothes on their backs when Israel was founded. In 2003, Iraq boasted 1.5 million Christians, but today there are less than 150,000. Neither Jews nor Christians have any designs about returning there – much less rebuilding. The pope knows what was done in this land when it was the so-called "caliphate" and witnessed unimaginable and unspeakable horrors, including beheadings and mass killings. "Forgiveness is necessary to remain in love, to remain Christian," he said. Here's something else the pope didn't mention about Abraham. When he was 99 years old, God made a covenant with him. It comes in Genesis 17:1-10. "And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised." Something important same out of Babylon. Abraham did. There are even historical records of Abraham when he was there – in the Ur of the Chaldees. There's no doubt about his existence. But the most important thing about him was his faith in God. His faith was so great that he was willing to sacrifice his own son at His command. But God stopped short of that, having tested and proven His servant. Later God would sacrifice His own Son, because He so loved the world. And yet we didn't hear any of that story told by the pope – in Babylon. Daily Jot: The winds of tyranny – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The winds of tyranny have been picking up across the United States. We have seen it with the cancel culture—the labeling of anyone with whom someone disagrees. We see it with Amazon and others removing books from their stores, reminiscent of Nazi Germany. It is apparent with the tearing down of statues representing the historic past of America. And we see it in a one-party controlled government that passes anything it wants, without even proper debate or listening to the people who elected them. Congress is the epicenter of the most powerful natural disaster in history as the winds of tyranny fill the American Flag flying over the nation’s capitol behind a chain link fence topped with razor wire. The natural disaster is that of wrong-minded, misguided men and women turning the world upside down with impunity. The Senate cleared the way for the $1.9 TRILLION COVID relief bill to be sent to the White House for the President’s signature. Republicans say that only 9% of the bill’s spending actually goes to anything related to COVID. The bill contains so much socialism that it will be very difficult to overcome for decades. Money for abortions. Money for illegal immigrants. Money for expanding socialist healthcare—that only benefits insurance companies. Money for San Francisco’s transit system. Money for a bridge from New York to Canada. Money, your hard-earned money, redistributed. That’s just the start. Next up is the misnamed “For the People Act of 2021.” HR 1 addresses “election reform” by instituting and legalizing the very cause of voter fraud. As Epoch Times summarized HR 1: “would transfer authority over how elections are administered from states to the federal government, subject private citizens to intimidation and harassment for their private and political beliefs, and make permanent many voting rules that opponents say lead to voter fraud.” Instead of fixing election integrity issues, this bill just makes them legal. Things like automatic voter registration, no-fault absentee ballots accepted up to 10 days after the election, prohibits removal of ineligible voters from the voter rolls, bans voter ID laws, ensures illegal immigrants can vote, allows same day voter registration, ballot harvesting, and the list goes on and on. Just these two bills summed up: Congress and the White House are legally robbing you of your money, your children’s and grandchildren’s financial future, and are establishing a socialistic system of one-party rule, a system of tyranny. And it is just the beginning. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) declared, “This is just the start of what Congress can do for working Americans.” Congress keeping the walls up around the capitol is symbolic a government truly separated and far from the people its duty is to represent. These are dark days. As in Isaiah 5:20, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Trouble is, the “woe” is also on those of us swept up in the high winds of tyranny. Daily Devotion: Starting Again - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Then the LORD spoke to Jonah a second time: ‘Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh, and deliver the message I have given you.’ —Jonah 3:1–2 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/starting-again/ - Listen From the belly of the fish, Jonah probably thought that God would never use him again—and God certainly was under no obligation to do so. But then we read this: “Then the Lord ordered the fish to spit Jonah out onto the beach. Then the Lord spoke to Jonah a second time: ‘Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh, and deliver the message I have given you’” (Jonah 2:10–3:1–2 NLT). All of this happened because God loved Jonah. And this should give hope to anyone who feels the need for a second chance in life. God gave a second chance to Adam and Eve, our first parents. He strictly warned them not to eat the forbidden fruit, but they did it anyway. And sin entered into the world. God could have said, “That’s it! I’m starting over again.” Yet we read that Adam and Eve “heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. Then the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” (Genesis 3:8–9 NLT). God still was longing for fellowship with his wayward son. God gave King David a second chance after David committed adultery and then murder, which he did to cover up his adultery. When the prophet Nathan confronted David, he repented. And God gave him a second chance. Finally, Simon Peter failed miserably, denying the Lord three times. Yet after Christ rose from the dead, this message was sent out: “Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died” (Mark 16:7 NLT). Even when we fail miserably, God gives second chances. Your situation isn’t hopeless. God can change your whole story.
