No rational mind regarded the new leadership as legitimate. 
 
All clear-eyed assessments knew the incoming man-in-charge was undeserving of his position. The means by which he’d come to power were marinated in corruption and fraud.  
 
Conversely, the case of the rightful leader was legally sound - but law and order had been systematically undermined. The true top dog was spurned. Chaos abounded as his adversaries refused to grant him what he’d justly earned.
 
The fraudulent new leader was widely regarded as a bungling fool. He’d have stood no chance of gaining power if his unstable mental state had been properly disclosed. He assumed titles he wasn’t qualified to receive, even as he gained infamy for his bizarre antics. Nicknames which drew attention to his lack of self-control, his brittle ego, and his inept behaviors were well-known.
 
It came to light that the new leader’s ascent to power had been assisted by unethical people in key places. One might argue it was all “politics as usual,” but this was over-the-top “deep state” stuff: cold, covert, conniving, and corrupt. There was nothing remotely proper about any of it.
 
And it wasn’t far into the new leader’s rule that it was learned this cronyism was much bigger than it had initially appeared. Other countries were part of the collusion too – including their top leadership. These roots of corruption had run wide and deep.
 
The fake leader’s subjects paid grievously for his ill-gotten gain. The gravity and number of his authoritarian decisions were unparalleled. New taxation plans were heavy-handed, and decisions that eroded national welfare were made. Redistribution tactics were implemented which benefitted his shady supporters most.  
 
Though relative peace and security had preceded the fraudulent leader’s rule, that all changed when he came to power. The new leader schemed with his advisors to undermine various places and pillars of vitality. Long-standing stalwarts of socioeconomic influence were attacked. 
 
Foreign relations eroded quickly under the new leader’s administration. Diplomatic campaigns with other powers were insincere. Shoddy and meaningless agreements were struck, and the likelihood of wars grew. 
 
Tensions and mistrusts swelled in the wake of the sham leader’s myopic postures, most notably in the Middle East. The new ruler made it clear from the get-go that his regard for Israel and the Jews was very poor. It was plain to see his crosshairs were on the back of the Jewish state.
 
Moreover, the new leader was personally compromised. Behind the scenes, he was indebted to other empires whose influence was clearly surging. His decisions could not cross the wishes and demands of these outside powers, and so they controlled him. These foreign nations cared little for the interests of the bogus leader’s own people.
 
Many innocent lives suffered due to the new leader’s disastrous decisions. Tens of thousands died as he failed to display even basic common sense. His zeal to enforce conformity placed him at odds with many who would not embrace his ideals. These dissenters posed threats to the new leader’s agenda, and he chafed as their liberties were expressed.
 
Rumors of a civil war simmered. His subjects writhed under his foolish antics, his desire for control, and his senseless schemes. This fiasco should not have happened in the first place.
 
The fraudulent new leader was Antiochus Epiphanes. Did you have somebody else in mind?
 
Antiochus Epiphanes reigned from 175 BC to his death in 164 BC. He ruled the Seleucid Kingdom which was headquartered in the area we know today as northern Syria. He is prophetically introduced in the Bible, roughly 350 years before his reign, in Daniel 11:21-35.  
 
This portion of Daniel, and many historical records, provide a detailed account of a despicable king. Antiochus Epiphanes was not the rightful heir to the Seleucid throne; that claim belonged to another, Demetrius I Soter. With the help of King Eumenes II of Pergamum (Turkey), Antiochus Epiphanes seized the throne for himself and murdered remaining lineage threats.
 
The Bible records that the entire reign of Antiochus Epiphanes was marked by dishonesty and perversion. From beginning to end, his rule had a broader pagan agenda. His decisions pleased his godless supporters and other pagan cultures, but they displeased God.
 
Antiochus Epiphanes came to power during a time of relative calm. While his kingdom was still paying tributes to Rome for conflicts from years before, an acceptable status quo had entered. The century-long wars between the Seleucids up north and the Ptolemies down south in Egypt had yielded to a do-able peace. Folks had moved on with their lives and routines were established.
 
It all proved to be a false security. Antiochus Epiphanes’ ascent to the throne caught people unawares. His illegitimate power grab was a dramatic and disruptive event. The unexpected circumstances traumatized many both inside and outside his kingdom.
 
His insatiable lust for power dictated his bizarre conduct. Historical records are rife with the claim that Antiochus Epiphanes was “not right in the head.” He gave himself divine titles like Theos Epiphanes (“God Manifest”), and triumphant names like Nikephoros (“Bearer of Victory”). Such pretenses failed to disguise his eccentric tendencies, and some of his contemporaries called him Antiochus Epimanes instead. It was a wordplay off of his name, and it meant “The Mad One.”
 
In the immediate aftermath of his rise to power, Antiochus Epiphanes set out to crush all opposition to his reign. He reignited tensions and initiated a series of conflicts with his perceived enemies. Notably, he murdered the high priest, Onias III. This signaled to the Jews under his rule that Antiochus Epiphanes was not going to tolerate any religious dissension to his policies.
 
A sobering fact on the ascent of Antiochus Epiphanes is found in verse 23. Here, we find his rise to power was aided by “a few people” (NIV). The New Living Translation puts it more bluntly, “He will become strong despite having only a handful of followers.” 
 
The bottom line is Antiochus Epiphanes was not a leader who had gained majority support. He did not represent the mainstream, and instead, his base was quite small. It is why his rise to power was a corrupt and deceitful process. He would not have acquired power any other way.
 
Once in power, Antiochus Epiphanes and his cronies pushed the envelope of frank corruption. The Bible records these activities as unprecedented – and strongly socialist in nature. He schemed to tear down the strength of others, and he plundered their wealth. Historical records note that he distributed these resources to influence and benefit his most ardent followers - in the form of blackmail, bribes, and other unethical transactions. 
 
A veritable list of Antiochus Epiphanes’ character flaws rounds out the balance of this passage in Daniel. To start, Antiochus Epiphanes was markedly disingenuous in his dealings with other nations. He ignored common sense and he broke terms of the agreement to act out of self-interest. He met with foreign leaders with his own heart ‘bent on evil.” He engaged in lies instead of truth. 
 
To top it all off, Rome made the final calls. Rome was the new emerging world power, and what Rome wanted, Rome got. While Antiochus Epiphanes was focused on acquiring greater plunder and influence for himself, he could not overlook his own compromised position with Rome.
 
The entire state of affairs inflamed Antiochus Epiphanes. He blamed the Jews for problems they were no part of, he actively meddled in other nation’s political affairs, he sought ways to limit his subjects’ rights and liberties, he persecuted those who disagreed with him, he elevated those who supported him, he silenced others who spoke out against him, and he escalated conflicts where he perceived he had something to gain.
 
His irrational and tyrannical behaviors were so corrupt, so violent, so murderous, and so comprehensive, that they incited the famous Maccabean revolt.
 
I already know what many of you are thinking, “So much THEN sounds like so much TODAY!”
 
You’re right. Many details in the story of Antiochus Epiphanes feel as though they were lifted straight out of America’s present challenges. An entire book could be written to make that case.
 
I recently finished teaching Daniel 11:21-35 to my Sunday School class. It took a few weeks to get through this passage, but as I worked my way through it verse by verse, I was also struck by the similarities between past and present leaders.
 
I received several questions several times as I taught this portion of Scripture. I share some of them here as I offer a few concluding points:
 
Why does the Bible give us so much information about Antiochus Epiphanes?
 
We are given extraordinary detail about Antiochus Epiphanes because he is a “type” – or picture - of the final antichrist. Nimrod, in Genesis Ch. 10, is too. Both came from the same region of what eventually became the eastern leg of the Roman Empire. That is probably significant.
 
Because the Bible makes the case that the antichrist will emerge from a “revived” Roman Empire, many people believe the antichrist will come from Europe. Such views fail to recognize the Roman Empire also had a powerful eastern leg, and that eastern leg outlasted the western one politically and militarily by hundreds of years.  
 
Keep in mind, the Roman Empire never really disappeared. It merely changed form and function over time. It became the Holy Roman Empire and was once headquartered in Turkey. It then became the Holy Roman Catholic Empire, and today it’s simply called The Catholic Church. 
 
Presently, The Catholic Church is headquartered in The Vatican, and its increasingly godless influence is obvious and worldwide. It traces its roots all the way back to its rise as a Gentile military and political kingdom around Antiochus Epiphanes’ time.
 
But the greater point is, we are given many specifics about Antiochus Epiphanes because much about him will also be true about the future antichrist. The Bible doesn’t waste words. We need to pay close attention.
 
What kind of administration will the antichrist have?
 
It’ll be a lot like the administration of Antiochus Epiphanes, but far worse. It’ll also be global. If you’re connecting all the dots here – it’ll be a much baser expression of the type of leadership we’re seeing right now in America: corrupt, deceitful, conniving, unethical, hostile to personal freedoms, anti-God, power-hungry, agenda-driven, suppressive, senseless, - - - and yes, socialist.
 
Jesus warned us we would see certain events exacerbating as the time of His Second Coming draws closer (Matt. 24:7-8). Typically, we think in terms of earthquakes, wars, famines, and such. But we are also seeing other trends in our time which portend the proximity of Christ’s Second Coming too. Like earthquakes and wars, these elements are increasing too.
 
These trends are “setting the stage” for one-world governance, and they include erosion of national boundaries, and embracing of socialism, a systemic rejection of Godly values, an obsession with “mother earth,” and various attempts to force the masses into conformity.
 
America was the world’s last holdout under its previous administration. The “America First” policies of President Trump thrust a hard stick into the spokes of a globalist agenda. This nation’s current administration is now working overtime to reverse those prior policies and to make America an active participant on the one-world stage.
 
Why would God allow America’s current administration into office?
 
Many believers suffer from looking at the Bible through the wrong lens. They try to interpret the Scriptures through a western-centric view.  
 
The Bible is not only eastern-centric instead, but - in the prophetic sense – it is focused on the nation of Israel. Dr. John MacArthur said it best, “If you get Israel right, you get your eschatology right.” For us to properly understand the times in which we live, we need to properly understand that Israel is the hub of end-times events.
 
From my vantage point, President Trump did a lot of things right when it came to Israel. He formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. He endorsed the Golan Heights as Israel’s land. He negotiated breakthrough peace deals with nations that historically were adversarial to the Jewish state. In nearly every way he supported Israel, and the Middle East had a rare calm.
 
Not so with the current leadership. America’s policies now are to advocate for Israel’s enemies and to undermine Israel’s national welfare. The effects of such shortsightedness are obvious. 
 
Tensions have inflamed in the Middle East since Biden “took” office. His policies have invited this. The IDF and Israel’s neighbors are all projecting an imminent war against Israel from multiple fronts. The prophecies of Psalms 83, Jeremiah 49:34-39, and Isaiah 17:1-3 could occur any day. 
 
My own opinion is God is using America’s current corrupt administration to bring about the next chapter of prophetic events concerning Israel. God has used depraved leaders and nations before to fulfill His plans with Israel – King Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon are a great case in point (Jer. 25:9; 27:6; and 43:10). Like past leaders, current leaders remain subject to God’s sovereignty.
 
The story of Antiochus Epiphanes is not only a story about the past, it’s a window into the present. As we ponder the things which once took place, we are better equipped to understand the things which are now occurring.
 
The grand takeaway here is we live in the most exciting of times. The signs are so clear. We are likely the generation that will experience the Rapture. Every morning I wake up wondering if this will be the day of our “blessed hope” (Titus 2:13). Nearly every night, I pray for that.  
 
May God strengthen our hearts with new resolve and encouragement as we glean from His Word, and as we faithfully endure in one righteous direction.

There is so much confusion out there right now, and my hope is that this article will help to clear things up. Lots of people seem to think that we will soon see a “return to normal” and that good times are just around the corner, but that is not true at all. In fact, I believe that things will become progressively worse in the months ahead. I don’t know if we have ever seen a time when more major end times signs were in the process of being fulfilled, and I expect global events to soon accelerate even more.
 
It has been nearly a year since I first released Lost Prophecies Of The Future Of America, and I thought that this would be a good opportunity to go back and look at how events have progressed since that time. The following are 10 signs that major end times events are in motion here in 2021…
 
#1 Natural Disasters – In the book I spend several chapters warning about great natural disasters that are coming, and this year the instability of our planet has only gotten worse. The number of large earthquakes that we have seen so far this year has increased dramatically compared to last year, and Volcano Discovery says that 28 volcanoes are currently in the process of erupting. Recent eruptions in Iceland and on St. Vincent have made headlines all over the globe, and now scientists are carefully monitoring the largest active volcano in the entire world…
 
Mauna Loa, the world’s largest active volcano, covering half of the Big Island of Hawaii, was ratted by 34 small earthquakes on Sunday.
 
Though only registering small magnitudes, scientists have warned citizens that the mounting seismic activity could signal that an eruption may be possible in the near future.
 
#2 Civil Unrest – In the book I have an entire chapter about civil unrest, and since I wrote it we have seen endless rioting, looting and violence in major cities all over America. In fact, this week we have seen horrible riots in Minneapolis, Portland and elsewhere.
 
When I first started warning that great civil unrest would come to America many years ago, a lot of people didn’t take me seriously, but now nobody can deny what is happening.
 
#3 War With Russia – Could Ukraine be the spark that begins the military conflict between the United States and Russia that I talk about in my book?
 
At this moment, Russia has somewhere around 100,000 troops massed along Ukrainian borders, and the U.S. is being warned to “stay away” from Ukraine…
 
Russia warned the United States on Tuesday against sending warships to the Black Sea, urging American forces to stay away from the annexed Crimean peninsula “for their own good” as the situation along Ukraine’s border caused increasing concern in the West. The U.S. Secretary of State, meeting with Ukrainian and NATO officials in Brussels, made it clear that the Biden administration, along with its allies in Europe, has Ukraine’s back and considers Russia’s ongoing military buildup in the region “very provocative.”
 
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Friday that Washington had informed Ankara that two U.S. warships would pass through Turkish waters this week to be deployed in the Black Sea. The deployment would come amid a significant escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine between Russian-backed separatists and Ukraine’s forces, which have U.S. and European support.
 
#4 War With China – At the same time that a potential conflict with Russia is looming, tensions with China have risen to higher levels than we have seen in decades.
 
At this stage, Taiwan has become the main source of contention, and on Monday the Chinese sent 25 military aircraft into Taiwanese airspace…
 
China’s People Liberation Army flew 25 warplanes into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Monday, its largest incursion yet as tension in the Taiwan Strait continues to escalate.
 
According to Taiwan’s defense ministry, the PLA warplanes – 14 Jian-16 fighter jets, four Jian-10s, four H-6K bombers, two Y-8 anti-submarine warfare planes and one KJ-500 airborne early warning and control aircraft – entered the island’s southwest zone on Monday.
 
#5 War With Iran – We know that Iran and Israel will go to war at some point, and the attack that just happened on the Natanz nuclear facility has brought the two countries dangerously close to a shooting war…
 
Iran has blamed Israel for a mysterious explosion at the weekend that knocked out power at its uranium enrichment facility at Natanz.
 
Israel has not publicly said it was behind what Iran calls “an act of sabotage” but US and Israeli media reports are quoting officials as saying it was carried out by Israel’s overseas intelligence agency, Mossad. Iran has vowed to take revenge “at a time of its choosing”.
 
#6 Rising Food Prices – In the book I warn of rising food prices, food shortages and global famines that will eventually develop.
 
Well, food prices are definitely rising. In fact, I just posted an entire article about this on The Economic Collapse Blog entitled “Food Prices Are Rising Aggressively, And Even The Corporate Media Is Admitting That It Is Only Going To Get Worse”.
 
#7 Economic Collapse – Since the start of the pandemic, more than 70 million new claims for unemployment benefits have been filed in the United States, approximately 4 million U.S. small businesses have permanently closed down, and millions more Americans have fallen into poverty.
 
Yes, stock prices are still hovering near all-time highs and the rich are richer than ever before. But meanwhile, vast stretches of our major cities are starting to resemble post-apocalyptic wastelands…
 
Homeless men lie on the sidewalk while others wearing blankets and rags loiter on a street strewn with garbage, feces, and drug paraphernalia along the notorious Kensington Avenue drag in Philadelphia.
 
Video posted online on March 10 shows people living out of suitcases on the sidewalks in the area adjacent to the entrance to the Somerset train station along the Market-Frankford train line while others openly brandish needles.
 
Cardboard boxes with trash bags stacked on top of them lie feet away from the entrances to various pawn shops, check-cashing stores, delis, and bodegas.
 
#8 An Increase In Wickedness – Over the past several months, I have done numerous articles documenting rising crime rates and the moral decay that is eating away at our society like cancer.
 
At this point, just about every form of evil that you can possibly imagine is absolutely exploding in our society, and some people are even spending lots of time and money to transform themselves into real-life monsters…
 
Rico Ledesma, 41, who lives in Brazil with his wife Krishna Insomnia, 25, and their daughter has spent year on his look which is complete with £400 fake fanged teeth which he admits makes it difficult for him to chew.
 
Tattoos cover 85 per cent of Rico’s body, while he also has eight subdermal piercings (those placed under the skin), as well as a tongue split and his eyeballs tattooed.
 
#9 Persecution – In the book, I spend an entire chapter discussing the great persecution of Christians that is coming.
 
Of course in many parts of the globe extreme persecution of Christians has already begun. For example, did you know that Christians in China are regularly being arrested and taken to secret brainwashing facilities where they are tortured for months on end? For much more on this, please see my recent article entitled “Where Is The Outrage? #10 Large Numbers Of Western Christians Falling For End Times Deception – Here in the western world, millions upon millions of Christians have been seduced by the “feel good Christianity” that has taken over so many of our churches. Smooth talking preachers promise their followers tremendous wealth and prosperity in this lifetime, and those preachers are assuring everyone that Jesus isn’t coming back any time soon.
 
But the truth is that He is coming back.
 
In Mark 13, Jesus specifically commanded us to watch for signs that He was coming back…
 
34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
 
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
 
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
 
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
 
Unfortunately, large numbers of Christians in the western world have not taken this warning seriously.
 
Millions upon millions of them are dead asleep, and meanwhile end times events are literally in motion all around us.

Evil being perpetrated today by the satanic minions, both demonic and human, is made manifest for all to see. At the same time, the dynamics behind what we can easily discern tell us that powerful forces rage in prophetic stage-setting while the final battle between good and evil continues to take shape. The scope displaying this wickedness, however, allows us to only peer through that “looking glass darkly,” as the KJV puts it (1 Corinthians 13:12).
 
These factors were among my motivation for writing the story I believe I was given the impression to present in fictional form. While I realize many–actually most—among our Rapture Ready and Terryjamesprophecyline.com blog family rarely care to delve into fiction, I’m hoping those of you who fit in those categories will make exception in this case.
 
Like in using this commentary space to offer my and Gary Ritter’s The Minion Protocols a few weeks ago, this article, too, is admittedly, to some extent, a promotion for my new novel.
 
By way of perhaps trying to somewhat buffer the appearance of crass commercialism, I offer this explanation. I present my novel with the strong sense that much of what is happening in the world today—in the unseen, spiritual realm—can be revealed to a considerable degree through fiction.
 
And the interaction in that dimension must be absolutely stupefying. Maybe that’s why the Lord has us looking through that glass darkly, concerning the cataclysmic clashing going on, from which we are protected by Heaven’s power. I believe that a fictional rendering is what is now called for as a buffering, although revealing, depiction to help us see where things stand from the supernatural perspective. I hope at the same time it will entertain, which fiction, in part, should do in every case.
 
MICHAEL is the novel’s title. Last-Days Lightning is the subtitle. As we have gone over a number of times in these commentaries, Israel is the primary signal of where this generation stands upon God’s prophetic timeline. That supernatural nation is at the very center of the prodigious battle that will bring the epic conflict of all ages to a conclusion. It is the horrendous warfare the great Apostle Paul wrote about as recorded now in Ephesians 6:12. All who name the Name of Christ are engaged in this battle whether we realize it or can’t spiritually perceive what’s going on all around us.
 
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6: 11–12)
 
That hell-spawned warfare will carry on through the campaign of Armageddon, and even arise again for a brief moment at the end of the millennial reign of Christ. Israel is the primary target the devil and his forces have in their crosshairs in their rage to destroy the house of Israel, thus to make God a liar. God has said that Israel will be a nation forever, and will be the head of all nations in the Millennium. The Jews have been the target of the evil forces of this fallen world down through the centuries–thus because it is that people through whom the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world was born.
 
The hatred is again building at a rapid rate. Globalism, anti-God, one-world-order ideology, is the chief stronghold of the powers and principalities in the high places of wickedness. The present American president and his administration have done and are doing all within their power to reverse any and all advantageous things the previous administration did for the Jewish state. Israel’s enemies, such as Iran, sense a renewed opportunity to destroy the nation by developing their nuclear weapons programs.
 
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is among the top military entities on the planet. They have the capability, both in battle ready forces and in covert operations, which have made the nation to this point seemingly undefeatable.
 
From relatively current history, we know about the major wars in which Israel was attacked, their enemies completely routed, despite the Israeli military facing overwhelming odds in every case. But was it their military that assured those victories? Many experts in warfare still scratch their heads, and many have to admit that those victories must have had elements of supernaturalism involved, so overwhelmingly strange and complete were the victories.
 
This is where I believe Daniel’s prophecies for these very days in which we find ourselves come into view—not that I mean the great prophet’s prophecies have totally unfolded. But, from things we have seen in Israel’s modern history and all the geopolitical gyrations involving the Jewish state continually taking place, to me it is clear that Daniel’s prophecies for the time near Christ’s return at Armageddon are beginning to manifest, and have been for some time.
 
Daniel’s foretelling, given him through his spectacular encounters with a heavenly messenger, are worthy of examination.
 
First, the prophet was given the following directly from the throne of God. I’m convinced the time referred to is the time we have entered, probably when Israel was reestablished as a nation on May 14, 1948. The Tribulation era—the time of trouble the angel mentions—isn’t yet upon us, but things have been set in motion that will rapidly lead to that horrendous time.
 
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. (Daniel 12: 1)
 
The angel then gave the prophet the following to write:
 
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:4)
 
Based upon the electrifying unfolding of issues and events involving prophetic portent at this time, we must conclude that the book likely has been opened.

Again, I believe the story gives an entertaining but discerning look behind the evil going on in recent times. And I prayerfully hope it will, even though presented fictionally, give encouragement and comfort that there is nothing to worry about—the Lord has everything fully under control within His mighty hand.

As the nation of Israel commemorates its fallen soldiers on Memorial Day on Wednesday, the IDF’s chief of staff, General Aviv Kokhavi, delivered a speech to the people of Israel at a ceremony at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. His address focused on the Biblical roots of the country and how it relates to the warriors defending it today.
 
“The journey of the nation of Israel back to their land is unprecedented – a type of miracle – a journey of faith that was paid for in blood,” Kokhavi said.
 
“This journey wasn’t only the exodus from Egypt, but the exodus of the east and west of a nation who woke up and began to walk – elders and youngsters, fathers and mothers and I’d like to discuss three of them.”
 
RACHEL THE MATRIARCH
 
The first mother that the chief of staff spoke about was the Biblical character, Rachel. “Rachel the matriarch, never merited to live in her land and understood what it was to be a stranger who doesn’t belong” Kokhavi recalled.
 
Referring to several passages in the Book of Ezekiel, he added that Rachel: “managed to arrive in Israel but didn’t succeed in living there. And when her sons were forced to leave the land, they arrived at her grave A cry is heard in Rama Rachel weeping for her children.”
 
Thus said Hashem: A cry is heard in Rama— Wailing, bitter weeping— Rachel weeping for her children. She refuses to be comforted For her children, who are gone. (Jeremiah 31:14)
 
“That is what’s written. And when her call was heard, the prophet promised: Restrain your voice from weeping”
 
Thus said Hashem: Restrain your voice from weeping, Your eyes from shedding tears; For there is a reward for your labor —declares Hashem: They shall return from the enemy’s land. (Jeremiah 31:15)
 
“The sons will return to their land.”
 
And there is hope for your future —declares Hashem: Your children shall return to their country. (Jeremiah 31:16)
 
UNSECURE, DEFENSELESS, PERSECUTED AND KILLED
 
“Most of the life of the nation of Israel lived outside of their land was insecure, defenseless and time and time again was persecuted and killed,” Kokhavi said.
 
“Zionism fundamentally changed that situation. Determined leadership despite a wide array of hardships was absorbed by many people who translated into waves of Aliyah that became a large nation and into the state of Israel.”
 
Kokhavi revealed to the millions of Israelis watching his address that the nation of Israel in 2021 was precisely what the prophet Ezekiel was talking about saying: “We are the generations of sons that returned to their borders. We are back. This time for good.”
 
“But our journey was and will be a challenge” he added.
 
A FULL ARMY
 
Later in his speech, Kokhavi vowed to IDF soldiers and their parents to only deploy them to “worthwhile missions.”
 
He then recalled the fallen soldiers who “defended our land” saying that: “we are continuing in their footsteps”.
 
Praising those IDF soldiers who are still with, the chief of staff reminded the viewers that “behind every day that passes by safely, stands a full army.”
 
“Who gathers intelligence, protects, prevents infiltrations or shootings, conquers attacks, stops enemies and foils illicit arms shipments and terrorism. Even those who are bogged down in protective operations don’t realize how big their accomplishments are.
 
Again quoting Jeremiah 31:15, Kokhavi promised those troops: “there is a reward for your labor.”

In 1961, future president Ronald Reagan said, “One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project, most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.” Reagan reasoned that once a government or a tyrannical power has your medical information, it can dictate your life or diminish you. This is one of the possible agendas of the COVID vaccine, which by CDC’s own statistics there is less than a 1% chance of contracting the COVID virus and less than .02% chance of dying from it if contracted.
 
Let’s roll back time to World War II and Adolf Hitler’s final solution. Do you know who helped him identify, classify and kill Jews so efficiently? IBM. Yes. It’s True. Edwin Black, historian and investigative author, in the book “IBM and the Holocaust,” documents that it was IBM’s Dutch and German subsidiaries working with the Nazi Party who developed the punch-card system that systematized the Holocaust. Black writes, “Scientists and engineers debased their higher calling to devise the instruments and rationales of destruction. And statisticians used their little known but powerful discipline to identify the victims, project and rationalize the benefits of their destruction, organize their persecution, and even audit the efficiency of genocide.” IBM does not deny this and it is very well documented.
 
Back to the present. On March 4, IBM and Moderna announced they were developing end to end vaccine tracing and management solutions to enable governments and healthcare providers to quickly share data. In addition, they created the Digital Health Pass so that personal health information can be used to verify individual’s health records, credentials, and test results for workers, customers and travelers. This is a more sophisticated computerized version of IBM’s punch-card system of Hitler’s era. This system is already deployed in New York, and of all places, Israel, which should know better. Microsoft, as part of a consortium of high tech and healthcare companies, is working on merging these systems with payment platforms, geolocation tracking, and personal credit history.
 
Everyone should make an informed personal decision whether to get the vaccine. Likewise, we should collectively consider the ramifications of Reagan’s warning. The government and/or large corporations are tracking those who comply and those who don’t. What they will do with that list is not yet entirely revealed. Already, however, they are making decisions on who can go to events, indoor dining, and who has safe passage in emergency evacuations. Is it too much of a leap to consider next steps—like shutting down religious groups because of what society calls outdated Biblical beliefs; Or deciding which kids can go to school; Or who gets medical care; Or who gets food; Or who gets to work, and where; Or who lives? As Christ said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.”

Let’s imagine for a moment that you loaned something valuable to someone, and they ended up destroying it. If you said, “I want you to get me a brand-new one,” that would be justice.
 
But let’s say that you dealt with them in mercy instead. You said, “You don’t have to get me a brand-new one. I forgive you.”
 
Then again, let’s say that you dealt with them in grace. You wouldn’t insist they give you a new one. Rather, you’d buy them their own and then take them out for dinner, too. That’s an example of grace, which is God’s unmerited favor.
 
The Bible tells us, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” (Ephesians 2:8–9 NLT).
 
Why do we need God’s grace? Because we sin every day. We sin more than we think we do. In fact, the Bible says, “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth” (1 John 1:8 NLT).
 
Yes, sin is when we think a lustful thought or we lose our temper. But sin also can be when we say no to the Lord’s promptings to read His Word or pray or share the gospel with someone. It’s knowing what we should do but not doing it.
 
So we need God’s grace every day. Jesus taught us to pray, “Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us” (Matthew 6:11–12 NLT).
 
Just as surely as we need daily bread or provision from God, we need daily forgiveness as well. That’s where grace comes in.
