Welcome to what I consider a controversial topic since natural disasters are.. ahem, “natural.” And the Word of God is directly connected to the Almighty power who presides over the natural disaster “control panel.” Do you know the opposite of “natural”? Raise your hand if you answered “man-made.” And “man-made” brings us to that “other religion” known as climate change — formally called “global warming.” But since that term was not broad enough to include blizzards and every kind of natural disruption, it was changed by “the powers that be.” (A biblical phrase from the King James translation.) Let’s continue with the catalyst for today’s topic, a recent (gasp) Washington Post headline: “Floods, fires and deadly heat are the alarm bells of a planet on the brink.” That headline prompted me to ask, “Is the Power at the heavenly ‘control panel’ sounding the ‘alarm bells’ ”? And, “Has He reached the boiling point with those He created in His image? Is He bringing about Hell on Earth?” The apocalyptic opening paragraph of the Washington Post's report provides the answers and dovetails into our Bible study. It read: “The world is hotter than it’s been in thousands of years, and it’s as if every alarm bell on Earth were ringing. The warnings are echoing through the drenched mountains of Vermont, where two months of rain just fell in only two days. India and Japan were deluged by extreme flooding. They’re blaring from the scorching streets of Texas, Florida, Spain and China, with a severe heat wave also building in Phoenix and the Southwest in coming days. They’re burbling up from the oceans, where temperatures have surged to levels considered ‘beyond extreme.’ And they’re showing up in unprecedented, still-burning wildfires in Canada that have sent plumes of dangerous smoke into the United States. Scientists say there is no question that this cacophony was caused by climate change — or that it will continue to intensify as the planet warms.” Yes, of course, “this cacophony was caused by climate change”! In WaPo-land, Almighty God is merely a bystander, not worthy of even posing the question: “Could climate change be more about God’s wrath and less about how humankind's behavior has impacted the environment?” I ask - YOU decide after we read what The Word says about God’s dominion over the Earth. And, since God equals nature, as in “Mother Nature,” that is a more homey way of saying, “It’s all about HIM.” The Bible never provides any scientific analysis concerning the numerous and varied natural disasters within its pages. However, God used natural disasters or miraculous phenomena to assist His people to triumph over or escape from their enemies — ultimately for His glory and His will to be done. (See the ten plagues in Exodus.) Believers know that God created the world to sustain all life. Therefore, the Creator has sovereignty and power over all of nature, including humans, to whom He gave superior intellect to love, worship and glorify Him to build His kingdom on Earth. For a refresher about how the Earth is God’s domain, read Psalm 104, detailing His control over all aspects of the natural world. Some sample verses: “He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. He set the Earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight; they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them” (Psalm 104: 3-8). Then in the book of Job, the Lord took three chapters to explain His Almighty power and how He set boundaries over the sea and sky. Here is my favorite question that God asked Job: “‘Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?’” (Job 38:4). And this: “‘Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt?’” (Job 38: 8-11). Regarding the power to cause floods and provide relief from drought, God asked Job: “‘Can you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yourself with a flood of water?’”(Job 38:34). “‘Who has the wisdom to count the clouds? Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens when the dust becomes hard and the clods of earth stick together?’” (Job: 38:37-38). Reading His Word, is there any doubt that natural disasters are God’s providence and subject to His control? Such a notion is antithetical to “climate change” proponents and scientists who perpetuate the myth that humans can control the climate and natural disasters that stem from hotter temperatures. Anyone involved with the “climate change industrial complex” should read Job chapters 38 - 41 and ponder these words from God: “‘Everything under heaven belongs to me’” (Job 41:11). Thus, since a change in the climate is “under heaven,” what have humans done to infuriate Him? That question is worthy of a long answer with many multiple choices. My short answer is universal rebellion against Him, His Word, and His Commandments. Finally, a recent occurrence shows the Hand of God at work. I live in Florida, where a seaweed invasion bombarded our coasts. Naturally, climate change was mentioned as a reason: “This year’s sargassum bloom is shaping up to be one of the biggest ever recorded. Since 2011, a combination of human activity and climate change has created a string of unusually large seaweed blobs. Every year for the past five years has set a new record for the biggest blob ever.” And then, poof! The New York Times reported: “Good News, Florida. The Giant Seaweed Blob Has Shrunk.” The piece began: “The blob, known as the great Atlantic Sargassum belt, shrank in the Gulf of Mexico by 75 percent last month, scientists said.” Continuing, “But scientists don’t know why the decline was so rapid … There could be other reasons, ‘we just don’t know.’” Hey scientists, “know” what God said: “Everything under heaven belongs to me.” When Will Globalists Attempt to Introduce Their Digital Currency System? – Brandon Smith - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=6296 I want you to imagine, for a moment, a future world in which everything we now know about functioning and surviving within the economy is completely upended. This world has gone fully digital, meaning people live within a cashless society where physical monetary interactions are abandoned or prohibited, replaced by CBDCs. All transactions are tracked and traced, nothing is private any longer unless you are operating as a criminal within a black market. By extension, production is overtly suppressed and micromanaged. Small businesses are a thing of the past, and only a select group of major corporations working directly with government are allowed to operate. It's not just that cash is outlawed and that everyone must rely on a digital ledger, the very data pathways and networks that we use to transfer funds are also controlled. Much like the SWIFT data network, the globalists have the ability to lock down internet payments, individual accounts and business accounts and deny people the ability to move funds from one place to another. In the meantime, AI-based monitoring systems sift through millions of transactions every minute, searching for "anomalies." The algorithm is designed to identify anyone who has found a way around the data tracking - people who want to remain anonymous. The internet still exists, but it's a shell of its former glory. The population uses it regularly to complete necessary tasks and to research information, but data providers are severely restricted. Cryptocurrencies are not an option as an alternative to the CBDCs because trading them online immediately sets off red flags for the AI-in-the-sky. Only government-approved websites are allowed to exist, with extensive rules limiting what they can do and what they can say. AI chatbots provide the public with most of their information, and the globalists control the parameters of the chatbots. People only ever hear the news that the elites want them to hear. All contrary data is eliminated. It's not so much banned, rather, it is simply omitted from the record until the people who remember it are long gone. It might sound like science fiction, but ALL of this technology already exists and is currently being tested by globalist institutions including the Bank for International Settlements and the IMF. Not long ago during the covid pandemic scare, organizations like the World Economic Forum began widely promoting a concept called the "Great Reset." It was an agenda sometimes whispered about in banker conferences as far back as 15 years ago, but now the Reset was being promoted openly in the media and at Davos. It's a new economic paradigm, a revolution in which AI runs everything, humanity is relegated to a limited number of vital jobs, and a new brand of technological socialism rules our lives. Private property would be cast aside and the populace would live day-to-day within a "shared economy" in which no one owns anything and everything is borrowed from the collective system. The Reset, or the 4th Industrial Revolution as they sometimes call it, would be the start of a new terrifying age of feudalism. It's a return to the oligarch and peasant model, a return to enslavement. The average person would only be allowed to work as a means to survive, never to accumulate wealth for the future. And each peasant's survival would be utterly dependent on their access to the system, which could be taken away with the push of a button. The primary stepping stone to this dystopian nightmare would be a global digital currency system. Without a cashless society, the globalists would have no power to enforce the other elements of their Reset. But when and how will they implement this monstrosity, and why would anyone embrace it? Globalists tend to operate in stages of incrementalism, but sometimes they exploit dramatic crisis events in order to frighten the population into compliance with policies that would have taken decades to institute otherwise. We saw this clearly with the pandemic; most of the Reset concepts were revealed to the public during this time, perhaps because the globalists thought they had it in the bag and there was nothing anyone could do to stop them. This even included consistent talk of cashless systems to "prevent the spread of covid on physical dollars." Most globalist organizations consistently mention the year 2030 as their timeline for finishing the numerous projects they have in place, including the "Great Reset" along with multiple climate and carbon taxation goals. The WEF calls it "a social contract to transform our world by 2030." The UN simply calls it "Agenda 2030." This means the establishment wants to have their control grid in place within seven years or less. That would be impossible without a bone-rattling crisis of epic proportions, but first they would have to introduce a number of future mechanisms as a trial run. That way, when disaster does occur the public will be acclimated to the solutions that the elites will ask them to adopt later. In the case of digital currencies, crypto has already received wide exposure in popular media. Most people don't own crypto and hardly anyone uses it, but they have all heard of it. CBDCs will likely ride the crypto wave and will be presented as a "safer and more stable" crypto option. For now, Australia seems to be the primary guinea pig for fielding CBDCs to a large Western population. Their pilot programs are set to finish this summer and international transactions have been accomplished using the eAUD unit. Though, they have not revealed when they might introduce the currency to Forex markets or the citizenry. The point is, the system exists, and can be copied and adopted by any other nations. At bottom, globalists know that countries like America will not accept a fully cashless system without a complete collapse of their existing currency and economy. It's just not going to happen otherwise, and I have doubts that many Americans will accept such a system even after a collapse. The majority of Americans, 59%, say they like to have cash with them for various purchases. Though Western consumers make payments more often with bank cards, they still enjoy having physical money when they want it. The implications of intricate digital surveillance of every single purchase and transfer of funds is not lost on a large portion of the population. People know that if they give the government a telescope into their wallets eventually that information will be used against them. Take away the option of anonymity and millions of people will resist, even if they have nothing in particular to hide. Conversion to a cashless system would require calamity and force, a full-spectrum crisis throughout the US and much of the Western world in the next few years, along with another few years or more of reconstruction to bring in CBDC mechanisms. Small businesses would have to be removed from the picture, leaving only major corporations which could then refuse to accept cash as a means of payment from consumers. This would be one method of expediting the cashless system, along with outright government confiscation of physical paper. That said, there is another rather blunt way to push Americans into CBDCs that the globalists seem to be expediting - the death of the dollar's world reserve currency status. Only five years ago skeptics argued that the dollar would be king for many decades to come. Today, those same people are eerily quiet as the IMF announces their own global CBDC called the "UMU" and BRICs nations quickly move away from the Greenback in bilateral trade. If the US dollar loses a majority of its buying power through inflation and the loss of reserve status, it may be easier to convince the populace to abandon it for a digital replacement. If we take the globalist timeline of 2030 as an effective limiter, this would mean another crisis even more pervasive than the covid pandemic would have to take place soon in order for the elites to get what they want. Jarring social changes and frightening geopolitical events pummel our sensibilities like waves endlessly breaking upon the shore. Life’s been getting a whole lot crazier with each passing year. What exactly is going on behind the scenes that’s causing so much confusion? #1 – Breaking Down Families The breaking down of families isn’t something necessarily new, but currently there are a whole lot of woke organizations out there that have been fighting for evil under the banners of feminist rights and many other anti-family positions. Clearly, a war on the traditional nuclear family is being waged. As a result, divorce rates climb ever higher, even among Christians. We have more and more people giving up on their marriages. The Enemy knows that people are stronger together than apart, so Satan has made a concerted effort to tear apart the foundational structure of our society — the nuclear family. Jesus in Matthew 19:1-10 reiterates what was written in Malachi 2:16, “For the Lord God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence.” Satan absolutely hates the nuclear family because the family establishes the very foundation for a just and godly society. As the family goes, so society goes. The Enemy knows this truth, and so he creates conflict and discord within the home for the purpose of causing families to break up. Divorce creates a significantly negative effect on children of broken homes, often causing young adults to prefer to just live together in sin or wait to get married much later in life, sometimes well past their child-rearing years. If Satan can split children off from a nurturing family structure, then they become far more vulnerable to temptation. That’s the number one tactic in Satan’s strategy to destroy the foundations of a nation. #2 – Abortion If you cannot break a family, then eliminate it before it ever begins. Americans have aborted 63 million babies since 1973 when the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion. China has aborted 300 million babies in that time! Even with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the death toll due to abortion in the US and across the globe is both shocking and genocidal. God abhors abortion! Let’s call abortion what it truly is — murder. God in Exodus 20:13 commands, “you shalt not murder,” which is the Sixth Commandment. The Enemy has been trying to normalize murder through abortion. Same as the homosexual agenda, Satan has been working to minimize this sin as not being a big deal. He’ll cloak murder under the auspices of a women’s right to choose, or that an unborn baby isn’t really life yet and so, abortion isn’t really murder. Satan works to place doubts in people’s minds to desensitize them to what is really happening, which when it comes to abortion, is most definitely murder in God’s eyes. #3 – Confusion Over Sexual Identity The third tactic Satan has been using to attack our nation, especially targeting the newest generation, is by causing great confusion over one’s gender and sexual identity. It seems like now more than ever our youth have become terribly confused about something as simple as their own gender. In interviews on college campuses, when students are asked how many genders there are, some amazingly responded with “infinite,” and some just make up numbers because they simply have no idea. Job applications are offering the choices of “Male,” “Female,” and “Other.” Gender is also being removed from birth certificates. The Enemy is doing a job on our youth by getting them confused over the biological identity to which they were born. And yet, the Bible declares there are only two genders. Genesis 1:27 states, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” This verse clearly does not say “male, female, fluid, and so on” It states that God created two genders and only two genders. Not only has confusion over gender and sexual identity been running rampant, but gargantuan efforts have been made to create sexual preference confusion as well. The LGBTQ+ agenda is being pushed on almost every television program that is available to watch. It’s blatantly obvious that the Media is strenuously attempting to normalize the homosexual agenda with regular characters that are same-sex couples or by extolling characters who are inclined to be same-sex attracted. “Family friendly” entertainment companies such as Disney and shockingly even some of our public school teachers work hard to normalize sexuality, even as young as the tender elementary ages. We are watching in horror as the Enemy weaves into the fabric of our country the normalization of extra-marital sexuality, which is something God has clearly defined as sin (Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Rom. 1:24-27; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; 1 Tim. 1:9-10). In his insidious effort, Satan has particularly been targeting the minds of our newest generation to lead them into bondage to lust and confusion and so separate them from their Creator’s good and perfect will. #4 – Emotional Disorders We are living in a time when many kids suffer from low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety. Children are being prescribed massive amounts of medication to deal with these emotional conditions. And yet, our Lord Jesus says in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy,” but that “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Our Creator cherishes each and every one of His creations made in His image, but Satan steals their identity away from them with Evolution and other Humanist philosophies. This tragically has resulted in a generation that sees life as pointless and concludes that its existence is meaningless. #5 – Division The last component of Satan’s five-part plan to destroy America involves tribalism. The Enemy attacks our nation by fomenting division. Americans are so divided right now! You cannot go on social media and have a discussion without endless arguing and strife. Social media has become one of the main tools in Satan’s insidious work toward sowing discord and division throughout our society. Three different ways Satan causes division: race, politics, and denominationalism. Obviously, there has been a whole lot of racial tension in our country, especially since the Floyd police incident and the subsequent riots of 2020. The Enemy has been using Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality to sow discord and divide people along ethnic lines. Sadly, Christians [also] don’t often get along very well with each other. It’s rather a sad blight on the Church. Christians should all be on the same team, and yet we’ve long been letting denominationalism break us apart. Christians don’t even realize that denominationalism is being used as a tool of the Devil to create discord within the Church. These five key tactics are employed by Satan to wreak havoc for the purpose of eventually destroying our society. Now that we know what Satan’s five-part plan is, we can counter it. Christians remain called to continue to be “salt and light” in this fallen world. We stand for righteousness in an increasingly dark era. And, as we wait for the return of Jesus Christ, we continue to share the Gospel, all the way up until the King of Kings’ glorious return to conquer Satan and his minions of evil. How Does the Bible Define Love? - Nathele Graham - [email protected] What is the definition of “love”? In Greek, there are various words that are translated love, and each is used for a specific type of love. The one most commonly associated with God is agape. It’s the caring type of love that all Christians should display for the world to see, especially to each other. That word appears 116 times in Scripture, but the first place it’s used is in a negative sense. “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24 12. Jesus used agape in describing the way life will be as we draw nearer to the Tribulation. There will be false prophets who deceive people, and persecution will be great. There will be very little agape evidenced around us. Do we see any of the “iniquity” today? The Greek word “anomia” is translated iniquity, and it means a condition without law either because of ignorance or because of violating it. It’s also translated “unrighteousness” and “transgression”. We are moving quickly into a very wicked time. As the final seven years of life on earth draw near, agape is growing cold. Brothers and sisters, we need to stop allowing the wickedness of the world to negatively affect how we serve Jesus. Christians are very, very blessed in that our sins are forgiven, and we have hope in Jesus. We are the ones who need to share God’s perfect love with the people who live in this wicked and evil world that’s under the control of Satan. “Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Romans 4:7-8. Because Christians have accepted Christ for salvation, our sins are forgiven. Even King David understood this blessing. In a psalm of praise for God’s mercy, he wrote “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12. David wasn’t a Christian, but he truly understood repentance and turning from sin. It’s a blessing that God agapes us so much, and we should humbly show our gratitude to God by living to please Him. King David was an excellent king. He loved the Lord and his desire was to honor God with his life. Was he perfect? Hardly, but when confronted with his sin he was broken over it. He never committed that sin again, but told God how sorry he was. I see many so-called Christians, giving lip service to Jesus, but not truly repenting of their sin. They continue to hold tightly to the sin from which they claim to have repented. When we accept Christ, our sins are forgiven, but in accepting Christ’s forgiveness, we need to repent. That means to change your mind about the sin you embrace, and turn from that sin. If you continue to lust after fleshly desires and give into that lust, then you haven’t truly repented. As long as we live on this side of Heaven, we will always struggle against sin in order to honor God, or even give into the sin and lust found in the world. Jesus forgave a woman who had been having a sexual encounter with a man she wasn’t married to. He forgave her, but He told her to stop sinning. We can’t accept His forgiveness, then mock Him by continuing to sin. The Apostle John assures us of God’s forgiveness. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” 1 John 1:9-10. Everyone sins. Gossiping is a sin, disrespecting parents is a sin, sexual activity outside of a one man/one woman marriage is a sin, and there are more. The closer you draw to God, the more broken you will be over sin. Today it’s common to hear someone try to justify their own sin by saying that Jesus would have been a part of the sin. That’s so wrong. I’ve even heard people say that Jesus would be leading gay pride parades. First, pride is a sin and second, those parades glorify sin and Jesus would not participate. He would absolutely love the sinner, and if they repented of their sin He would forgive, but He wouldn’t celebrate the sin. As Christians, we need to stand firm upon God’s word. Nations may “legalize” sin, but that doesn’t make sin right in God’s eyes. How do we, as Christians, show God’s agape to a world that embraces sin and promotes ungodliness? It isn’t agape to allow another person to die in their sins because they love that sin so much. It isn’t agape to allow Jesus to be slandered and mocked by people who say He would accept sin and even promote it. We can’t expect people blinded by sin to know who Jesus was and what He did for us. On the other hand, we need to show agape to those who are lost in sin. Paul was a very wicked man, who thought he was serving God by arresting and murdering those who embraced Christ for salvation. While he was on a mission to punish Christians in Damascus, he met Jesus. Paul repented of his way of life and became a true follower of Christ. It is Paul’s example of missionary work that we should follow. It was Paul who wrote letters to Christians to encourage them and keep them grounded in the faith. Paul was bold in his witness for Christ and didn’t fear prison or being beaten, but loved people enough to spread the Gospel. His letters are inspired by the Holy Spirit and stand today as Christian doctrine. Each letter should be used for information about Christian life. Our first and foremost example is Christ, but Paul’s writings are full of instruction for us. His letters to the believers in Corinth give us some important information. The attitude of the Corinthians was what today would be called a “seeker friendly” congregation who were proud of the sin they accepted. A man was in a sexual relationship with his father’s wife. Paul told them to expel him from the congregation until he repented. He eventually did, and they accepted him back. Today we see many pastors who claim to be homosexual, and congregations hosting drag queens to preach from the pulpit. Should we, who honor God, get angry? We shouldn’t accept any of this. Paul had a lot to say about “charity” which is also translated from the Greek word agape, often translated love. “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1. We can talk and scold and make ourselves very annoying, but if our words aren’t spoken with agape, we are just making noise. We might be the most “perfect” person in our walk with Christ, displaying spiritual gifts, but without agape we aren’t serving Him. “And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2-3. Our simple human minds like to think that doing things (works) is enough. Works are good, but works don’t save anybody. If the Gospel isn’t shared with lost souls, you aren’t showing love. Jesus is our example. He loved people, but that love didn’t mean accepting their sin. Jesus shared the Gospel, but although He was a carpenter by trade, He never built a house or planted crops for anybody He met. He healed many people, but He didn’t just throw money at them. It was up to those that were healed to then earn their living and not accept welfare. When they were unable to work, it was acceptable to beg, but once healed, welfare wasn’t acceptable. The Apostle Paul goes on to give a picture of agape love. “Charity suffereth long, and is kind, charity envieth not, charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. A respected Bible teacher once said to read through these verses, but place your own name in place of “charity”. That is very humbling. The word “charity” is translated from agape. If you show God’s perfect agape love, then you serve Him well. Don’t boast or brag about all the wonderful things you’ve done, but give God the glory. Don’t do good works for what you will profit from them, but for what the Kingdom of God will gain. Remember water is wet because that’s what it is. Honey is sweet because that’s what it is. God is agape, because that’s what He is. God is love. If we love Him, then we need to follow Him and live to please Him. Daily Jot: Biden cracking down on China, really? - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com On August 9, Joe Biden issued a very long and convoluted executive order (EO) that prohibits certain technology used for military purposes from being exchanged with China. The EO says, “The regulations issued under this section shall identify categories of prohibited transactions that involve covered national security technologies and products that the Secretary, in consultation with the Secretary of Commerce and, as appropriate, the heads of other relevant agencies, determines pose a particularly acute national security threat because of their potential to significantly advance the military, intelligence, surveillance, or cyber-enabled capabilities of countries of concern.” It names China, but does it mean what it says? On the surface, it would appear that Biden is getting tough on China, concluding “The regulations shall prohibit United States persons from engaging, directly or indirectly, in such transactions.” Biden makes it sound like this is a national emergency: “I therefore find that advancement by countries of concern in sensitive technologies and products critical for the military, intelligence, surveillance, or cyber-enabled capabilities of such countries constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security of the United States, which has its source in whole or substantial part outside the United States, and that certain United States investments risk exacerbating this threat. I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with this threat.” But if this is such a national emergency, why do the government agencies involved have a whole year to “asses” and determine what technologies fall under the EO? It says, “Within 1 year of the effective date of the regulations issued under section 1 of this order, the Secretary, in consultation with the Secretary of Commerce and, as appropriate, the heads of other relevant agencies, shall assess whether to amend the regulations, including whether to adjust the definition of “covered national security technologies and products” to add or remove technologies and products in the semiconductors and microelectronics, quantum information technologies, and artificial intelligence sectors.” Seems like the military experts should know right now what technologies are involved and should be able to ban them accordingly. To me, this seems like a bunch of smoke and mirrors. As America approaches the next presidential election, consider that Biden will use this executive order to offset the fact that he and his family have enriched themselves and compromised the office of the presidency by accepting millions from the communist Chinese. Picture a series of campaign commercials stressing how Joe cracks down on China on behalf of national security. All the while, nothing has changed because the executive order hasn’t even taken affect. Meanwhile, just four days later, Biden’s transportation department announced that flights to China will more than double beginning in September. As Psalm 36:3 says, “The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit.” What appears to be on the surface may not be as it appears. Take heed that you are not deceived. And how is it that these first-century believers, without the tools, technology, and media that we utilize today, were still able to radically impact their culture? The short answer is they followed and practiced a Christianity that isn’t known by many in the twenty-first century. When we read about Christianity in New Testament books like Acts, we might classify it as something that was radical, over the top, and perhaps a bit on the extreme side. But for these first-century believers, it would have been nothing less than ordinary Christian living. It is not that their faith was so radical. Rather, it’s that our faith is wimpy. Our faith, many times, is anemic. It doesn’t measure up to the standards of the New Testament. Christians should differ from non-Christians in every realm, not just the religious realm. We should differ from non-Christians not simply because we show up at church on the weekend or attend a midweek Bible study. Rather, we should differ from non-Christians because we conduct our businesses differently, we treat our spouses differently, and we raise our children differently. Our values should be different from those of non-Christians. People need to see this in our lives, but all too often, it simply isn’t happening. Paul wrote to the Christians in Ephesus, “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days” (Ephesians 5:15–16 NLT). If we want to impact our world like the first-century believers did, then we have to get back to the principles they applied. It starts with the Christianity they practiced.
