The response of Elie Wiesel when asked about why he’s vocal about politics.
 
During an online sermon that I listened to in the past, the preacher said that politics was “existential.” I am still trying to figure what he meant, but if I’m correct about what else I heard, the overall gist of the message was for Christians to avoid politics.
 
Was he correct? I say no. I believe it’s essential that we as New Testament saints become informed, vote, and express our opinion as the Lord gives us opportunities to do so.
 
However, we must be ever so careful on social media. I have made several politically motivated comments in the past that I very much regret and wish I could take back. It can be a painful lesson to learn, as it was for me.
 
When choosing between stating one’s opinion regarding national and world events or remaining safely within the friendly confines of church potlucks, it might be helpful to ask oneself the following questions:
 
AM I AWARE OF THE PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE OF EVENTS IN OUR WORLD?
 
The common theme among the majority of those who oppose my mention of the issues of our day (aka politics), is that of blindness to the prophetic significance of what’s happening throughout the world. Those who understand how the decisions of national and world leaders fit into what Scripture tells us about the last days, however, understand the necessity of connecting the dots between their actions with biblical prophecy.
 
Christians who get the majority, if not all, of their information from the likes of CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News, hear mostly lies regarding the state of our world and regard those of us who warn people of the globalist’ agenda as conspiracy theorists or wackos. Sadly, they also believe that the COVID-19 injections are “safe and effective” despite the mountain of evidence that says they are neither.
 
Believers locked into the mainstream media misinformation more often than not remain blind to the events that point to the nearness of the Tribulation and hence to Jesus’ imminent appearing.
 
If you believe that we live in biblical times where world events point to the nearness of the Tribulation period and hence to Jesus’ appearing, keep reading.
 
DO I HELP THOSE WHO HATE THE LORD?
 
Overall, King Jehoshaphat was a godly king who followed the ways of “his father David” (2 Chronicles 17:3). However, he made a tragic mistake when he formed an alliance the King Ahab of the northern kingdom of Israel, one that many correctly regard as the wickedest of all the kings if Israel.
 
As result of his serious error in judgment, King Jehoshaphat barely escaped with his life from a battle in which he had joined forces with King Ahab against the Syrian army (2 Chronicles 18). The enemy forces killed Ahab in that battle.
 
Upon returning to Jerusalem after the battle, the prophet Jehu, the son of Hanani, spoke these words to Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord. Nevertheless, some good is found in you, for you destroyed the Asheroth out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God” (2 Chronicles 19:2-3).
 
I have heard several people make a moral equivalence between the two political parties in America. This may have been true fifty years ago when one of my high school teachers said, “There’s not a nickel’s worth of difference between the two political parties and we should be thankful for that.” However, I can assure you with the utmost certainty that this is not the case in 2021.
 
Today, one party in the U.S. passionately promotes socialism, abortion, the LBGTQ agenda while imposing harsh vaccine mandates on people, soldiers, and workers, which have already caused an abundance of suffering and pain. Why support these things with your money or votes?
 
The other party is far, far from perfect, but several of its candidates do have a platform that more closely mirrors biblical standards of basic morality.
 
I cannot help but wonder if the Lord would ask believers who aid and support politicians that are vehemently opposed to biblical standards this question, “Why are helping the wicked and loving those who hate me?”
 
Am I being too harsh? Perhaps I am, but I cannot escape this nagging thought ever since I read 2 Chronicles 19:2-3 a couple months ago.
 
For me, it means more determination to look in depth at the candidates I support so as not to make the mistakes that I have made in the past.
 
DO I BELIEVE THAT NEUTRALITY NO LONGER REMAINS AN OPTION?
 
Elie Wiesel, a Romanian-born and Jewish-American writer, professor, political activist, Nobel laureate, and Holocaust survivor, wrote this about his involvement in politics:
 
“We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”[i]
 
We live at a time when tyrannical governments across the world are tormenting its citizens with vaccine mandates. At least for me, neutrality no longer remains an option; I must continue to write about matters that negatively touch the lives of so many people in America and around the world and seek to encourage believers with the promises of the Bible.
 
Please, please, please hear me when I say that I would so very much love to remain quiet about the dangers and risks of the COVID-19 injections, but several considerations keep me from doing so:
 
The multitude of stories that have come my way regarding the suffering and loss caused by the mRNA injections continue to haunt me, and I know they represent but a tiny sampling of the overwhelming pain and misery caused by them. The numerous stories of death and suffering are vividly real and I cannot forget them nor how they drove me to tears in some instances.
 
Despite the fact that a large majority have not yet suffered adverse effects, the tragically high numbers of those killed, permanently impaired, or otherwise severely harmed by these injections is something I just cannot overlook or minimize.
 
The words of Proverbs 24:10-12 remain a source of conviction for me as I watch as the numbers of vaccine deaths climb each week.
 
The vaccine mandates that have already caused much loss, misery, and death in the United States. If fully implemented according to the plans of President Biden, they will devastate America and wherever else a government resorts to such cruel and wicked tyranny. Pray that this will not happen.
 
The inclusion of children as young as five in the vaccine push in the U.S. is over-the-top evil, and woe to me if I do not speak out against this grave abuse of young children. Pray that parents will have the wisdom to keep their children away from these deadly vaccines.
 
There’s coming a time when you will not be able to voice your opinion regardless of your vaccine status. This is already true in many countries, and it appears this may be the case in the U.S. in the near future.
 
As believers, we are not helpless before the wickedness of our day. We can respond in a variety of ways.
 
WHAT CAN I DO?
 
Since God’s calling along with our gifts and talents are different for each and every one of us, there’s really no simple answer to this question. The answer may be different for all of us.
 
Of course, we must pray as never before and immerse ourselves in the words of Scripture, which we need just as much as a fish depends on water for survival.
 
Beyond those things, I will make a few considerations:
 
1. Stay informed on what’s happening in our world. There are a variety of reputable sources of information available to you that provide the reality behind the fake news that continually bombards people on mainstream media.
 
2. Vote with a biblical worldview. Decades ago, I promised myself that I would never vote for a Presidential candidate in the U.S. who was not pro-life. I have now extended this conviction to any candidate on a national, state, or local level.
 
Is it not far better to refrain from voting than to help the wicked by supporting those who openly hate our Savior as demonstrated by their anti-Scripture stance on issues such as abortion, the LBGTQ agenda, and Marxism? Remember the words of the prophet to King Jehoshaphat.
 
3. Be prepared to share the Gospel. The events of the past couple years have opened the hearts of many to the Gospel. Many of those currently outside the faith will tell you that they are scared by what they see once you engage them in conversations about current events. You may be surprised by who agrees with you when you mention the perils of life today and by how that opens up opportunities to share ones faith.

4. Use extreme caution when speaking up on social media (if you are employed, it’s best to avoid social media altogether). But as the Lord leads, take advantage of opportunities to state your opinion lovingly and graciously (something I’m still learning to do).
 
I love church potlucks and fellowship. However, I will continue to speak out on what the Lord the lays on my heart even if it means I’m excluded from such times.

If you have a bad feeling about 2022, you are not alone. As we approach the new year, it seems like things are going wrong all around us. We are facing the most epic supply chain crisis in our history, inflation is out of control, vaccine mandates are killing careers and forcing people out of jobs all over the country, and America is the most deeply divided that I have ever seen in my entire lifetime. Meanwhile, another wave of the pandemic appears to be building, our hospitals are already packed with non-COVID patients, global hunger is on the rise, and a major war could erupt in the Middle East at literally any moment. Unfortunately, I am entirely convinced that many of the problems that we are currently dealing with will escalate to an entirely new level in 2022.
 
For example, if you think that inflation is bad now, just wait until you see what is coming. We just got more evidence that wholesale inflation numbers are absolutely soaring…
 
New wholesale inflation numbers from September are in and once again prove the rapid increase in prices for everyday items isn’t “transitory” as President Joe Biden has repeatedly claimed.
 
Wholesale prices rose by 8.6 percent compared to September 2020, matching the largest increase on record.
 
The days of relatively low inflation are gone for good. As wholesale inflation numbers continue to spike at a very alarming rate, it is inevitable that these cost increases will be passed along to consumers.
 
Unfortunately, some corporations have already announced price hikes that will go into effect in 2022.
 
For example, check out the increases that Kraft Heinz has planned for January 9th…
 
In a letter to a regional distributor to grocery stores obtained by CNN Business, Kraft Heinz said it plans to raise prices on hundreds of items beginning on January 9, including varieties of Jell-O gelatin and pudding, which will jump from anywhere between 7 percent and 16 percent, and Bagel Bites frozen snacks, which will see an increase of roughly 10 percent. Meanwhile, Cool Whip topping varieties will see an increase of 7 to 10 percent. The cost of EZ Mac will rise 3.5 percent, while a 7.25-ounce dish of Kraft Big Bowl Mac & Cheese will see a 20 percent price hike.
 
A 20 percent price hike for mac and cheese?
 
If you love mac and cheese, this would be a good time to start hoarding.
 
Meanwhile, the price of gasoline continues to rise very aggressively…
 
Gas prices soared to a seven-year high, reaching a nationwide average of $3.42 as of Tuesday, according to data from the American Automobile Association.
 
That’s 16 cents higher than a month ago, or $1.31 more than a year ago, and 80 cents more than in 2019, according to AAA.
 
I have been relentlessly warning that very painful inflation would come, and what we have experienced so far is just the beginning of a long national nightmare.
 
As I discussed earlier this week, our unprecedented supply chain crisis is one of the primary factors that is causing inflation to run so hot. In particular, the global shortage of computer chips has been significantly affecting levels of production in countless other industries, and now we are being told that this shortage will last “well into next year”…
 
The latest dose of reality was offered up by Infineon’s CEO, who said this week that the chip shortage would last “well into next year,” according to Bloomberg.
 
Infineon a German semiconductor manufacturer founded in 1999 that is one of the 10 largest semiconductor manufacturers in the world. Sales to the automotive industry make up about 40% of the company’s revenue.
 
CEO Reinhard Ploss made the comments at an auto conference this week, stating that the company wouldn’t be able to work off its order backlog until 2022.
 
Of course the CEO of Infineon was still trying to be optimistic when he made those comments.
 
In reality, there appears to be no end in sight for the chip shortage.
 
The supply chain crisis is also deeply affecting the distribution of food all over the planet, and that even includes food banks here in the United States…
 
The ripple effect of the supply chain crisis continues— now, it’s disrupting food banks.
 
“When there’s a shortage in supply chain, it makes it much more difficult for us to be able to provide our clients with food,” said Linda Hansen, the food bank director at Wellspring Interfaith Social Services.
 
I am so thankful for all of the wonderful food banks around the country that do such a great job of feeding so many needy people.
 
Unfortunately, their job is going to become increasingly difficult as our supply chain woes intensify.
 
And without a doubt, our supply chain woes will get a whole lot worse once the new OSHA mandate goes into effect. A ruling by the Firth Circuit has temporarily suspended the mandate as litigation moves forward, and that is good news. But eventually it is probably inevitable that the U.S. Supreme Court will be forced to take up this matter, and the U.S. Supreme Court has made bad decision after bad decision in recent years.
 
Meanwhile, the Biden administration is telling businesses to ignore the Fifth Circuit and to “move forward” with getting their workers vaccinated…
 
The White House on Monday said businesses should move forward with President Joe Biden’s vaccine and testing requirements for private businesses, despite a federal appeals court ordering a temporary halt to the rules.
 
“People should not wait,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters during a briefing. “They should continue to move forward and make sure they’re getting their workplace vaccinated.”
 
If the U.S. Supreme Court ultimately rules that Biden’s OSHA mandate is legal, it will be a death blow for our economy, and it will be a death blow for liberty and freedom in the United States.
 
So the stakes are incredibly high, and I do not have much faith in the U.S. Supreme Court at all.
 
But even if we want to totally disregard the OSHA mandate for now, 2022 is still shaping up to be a really nightmarish year.
 
Things are bad now, but they will soon get even worse.

Thanks to an emailer friend recently, this postulation, in the form of a question, emerged to the forefront of my cerebral ruminations. Is the vaccine mandate madness, and particularly the COVID-19 virus which it involves, a part of Bible prophecy?
 
The many signals of end times prophecy we have witnessed and continue to witness, proliferating in frequency and with intensity, make the postulation/question highly pertinent, I think. Is the Jab, an all-pervasive matter so at the center of all the signs, a prophetic indicator of Christ’s Second Coming?
 
The emailer said she recently heard preachers/teachers mention Rev 18: 23 … “for by your sorceries were all the nations deceived.” This “vaccination,” she said, “sure has been, and still is, a huge deception.”
 
It sure has been exactly that…! So we need to examine this prophetic passage.
 
“And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived” (Rev 18:23).
 
This prophecy/condemnation given John by the Lord Jesus, Who is the Word, is part of the judgment of the city called “Babylon,” which will take place near the end of the Tribulation. That judgment from Heaven is God’s Holy Wrath poured on this system of evil that has deceived and corrupted all of mankind. This Babylon is the apex –the ultimate manifestation—of the globalists’ attempt to throw off all Governance of the Creator of all that is. It is God bringing to Fulfillment His prophetic utterance found in the Old Testament.
 
“The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision” (Psalms 2:2-4).
 
Thus will the final assault on humanity and upon God, like in the days of Nimrod’s Tower of Babel wickedness, be thrown down. At the heart of that wickedness is the evil that God’s Word terms “sorceries.”
 
This designation, “sorceries,” has very interesting connotations in regard to developments since the so-called pandemic plaguing the world since 2020. We consider the Greek dissection of the term, given in the New Testament. Here is what I found when researching the term briefly.
 
Sorceries is from the Greek φαρμακεια, or pharmakeia, Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance number 5331, is said to mean “medication, “pharmacy,” magic, literally or figuratively – sorcery, witchcraft.”
 
So sorceries in Revelation 18:23 can mean both that the merchants as world traders of Babylon drug the nations with their medications, but also in a broader sense, Babylon and her merchants, the giant international corporations, deceive the world by their more figurative “magic” or witchcraft, the allure and bait of these merchants to appeal to the flesh of men.

It seems that at the center of the globalist elite blueprint for the enslavement of mankind to corruptive, destructive activity is this thing called” pharmakeia.” It is the root of the word sorceries in this prophecy.
 
All we have to do to understand what is at the center of the COVID controversy today – whether to Jab or not to Jab— is to remember the chaos surrounding what the press terms “big Pharma.” These pharmaceutical behemoths have produced the serums called vaccines, almost all of which have been untested to the extent that has been required of every other such injectable material throughout modern scientific history.
 
The “Jab” has set on fire anger and disruptive actions throughout the nation and world. Dictates by politicians who relish the absolute power mentioned by Lord Edward Acton prove his renowned apothegm: “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
 
The vaccine power grab as it might be legitimately called, seems beyond any doubt – to me, at least, to foreshadow the one who will demand absolute control. He will be of his father, the devil, who is, as scripture tells us, the father of lies. That is, the progenitor of great deception at every level of human interaction.
 
So I believe we can conclude that – yes – the Jab” is indeed prophetic. It looks to be a major stage-setting utility for producing the platform from which to launch Satan’s son of perdition.
 
But that earlier Psalms prophecy gives us the final disposition of Antichrist’s short-lived reign.
 
“Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession” (Psalms 2:5-8).

Communist China has constructed full-scale sized mockups of major U.S. warships, including an aircraft carrier, to use at a new target range complex as tensions between the U.S. and China continue to rise amid geopolitical issues in the South China Sea
 
Satellite images show the Chinese military erected the mock-ups on 6-meter-wide rail tracks which would allow the mock-ups to be moved, simulating moving vessels.
 
The independent U.S. Naval Institute(USNI) said on its website that the mock-ups of US ships were part of a new target range developed by the People's Liberation Army.
 
"This new range shows that China continues to focus on anti-carrier capabilities, with an emphasis on US Navy warships," USNI reported.
 
China now has the world's largest navy and is preparing to launch a new high-tech aircraft carrier by February, the Pentagon has also revealed.
 
Beijing has 'numerically the largest navy in the world with an overall battle force of approximately 355 ships and submarines, with expectations to deploy 460 warships by the end of the decade,' the Defense Department said last Wednesday in its annual report on China.
 
That compares with 296 warships at the US Navy's disposal, 69 vessels operated by the Royal Navy and 295 boats deployed by the Russian Navy.
 
Beijing is expected to add a third aircraft carrier in early 2022, dubbed Type-003, with satellite images from the shipyard published today indicating that it will rival the American super carriers.
 
China's navy and coast guard are also adding new vessels at a record pace, concentrating them in the South China Sea, the strategic waterway that China claims virtually in its entirety.
 
While the US Navy remains predominant, its resources are divided between the Indo-Pacific, the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean and other regions where American interests lie.
 
Beijing is investing heavily not just in conventional warfare but also 'focusing on information, cyber, and space and counterspace operations,' the report states.
 
Pentagon press secretary John F. Kirby responded to the report at a press conference on Monday.
 
"What we're concerned about ... is the increasing intimidation and coercive behavior of the Chinese military in the Indo-Pacific, and also the coercive tactics they're using, even using economic tools around the world to bend other nations to their will or to their view of what's in their best interest," Kirby said.
 
"We're focused on developing the capabilities, the operational concepts, making sure we have the resources and the right strategy in place so that we can deal with China as the No. 1 pacing challenge."
 
China's military is a source of growing concern. The Pentagon released a report this month claiming that China is expanding its nuclear force much faster than predicted just a year ago. This nuclear program appears designed to enable Beijing to match or surpass U.S. global power by mid-century, the report said.
 
"The PLA's evolving capabilities and concepts continue to strengthen China's ability to 'fight and win wars' against a 'strong enemy' -- a likely euphemism for the United States," the report said.
 
In 2020 alone, the People's Liberation Army launched more than 250 ballistic missiles for testing and training -- "more than the rest of the world combined," according to the Pentagon. In August 2020, China launched a series of tests involving DF-21D and DF-26 missiles which are touted in the Chinese media as 'aircraft carrier killers.'
 
Last month, China surprised US military experts when it tested a hypersonic missile that is capable of carrying a nuclear payload and potentially has a range of some 25,000 miles and can operate in space. It means the missile can theoretically hit anywhere on Earth with almost no way to stop it.
 
Mounting concern about China's nuclear capabilities comes as Beijing continues to build up its conventional military forces and engages in increasingly assertive military activity near Taiwan. Some experts are concerned that the fiasco in Afghanistan has bolstered China's timeline for invasion of the island nation.
 
Beijing's mouthpiece media has been warning that it is 'only a matter of time' before the island falls into their hands and that World War Three could be triggered 'at any time'.
 
Satellite images recently showed how China has upgraded military air bases close to Taiwan, in the latest hint at potential invasion plans. The images come after the People's Liberation Army air force launched 149 sorties into Taiwanese air defense identification zone (ADIZ) last month - a record number.
 
With the threat of hypersonic missiles now looming over any potential invasion, US plans to aid Taiwan could come at great cost.

It’s no small secret now that last week’s elections were a humungous rejection of the “woke” left-wing socialist agenda of Joe Biden and his Democratic Party. People balked at economic policies that have brought Americans the highest gas and food prices in over a decade. They rejected that the government, not parents, should have control of their children’s education. Against the backdrop of the highest violent crime and murder rates in ages, people put their foot down against defunding and abolishing the police. And citizens signaled at the polls that they were not warm to the idea of losing their jobs and the economic ramifications of forcing COVID shots on them and their children. So what’s Biden’s answer?
 
Joe Biden actually said this: “What I do know is, though, is people want us to get things done. They want us to get things done and that’s why I’m continuing to push very hard for the Democratic Party to move along and pass my infrastructure bill and my Build Back Better bill. Think about what we’re talking about here. People are upset and uncertain about a lot of things: from COVID to school to jobs to a whole range of things and–the cost of a gallon of gasoline–and so, if I’m able to pass and sign into law my Build Back Better initiative, I’m in a position where you’re going to see a lot of those things ameliorated quickly and swiftly.” So Let’s get this straight: The voters outright rejected his leftist agenda and Joe’s answer is that people just want to see all these crazy socialist boondoggles passed into law.
 
Now I get it–that’s why they are upset at the polls. Uh-huh. As Washington Times columnist Robert Knight observed: “Looking at the damage, some Democrats opined that American voters were disillusioned because Congress had not governed even more radically. In light of the Virginia results, a tone-deaf Nancy Pelosi vowed to stuff even more leftist social items into spending bills. Americans want the insanity to stop, but Democrats are not listening…There is no single issue that awakened the voters, just a mind-boggling string of Democrat-spun catastrophes: roaring inflation, especially in food prices and at the gas pump; the open border disaster; Afghanistan; unconstitutional COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates on private businesses; the LGBTQ agenda gone wild, and the sense that we’re on a runaway train toward a socialist cliff.”
 
Knight continued: “Also, parents got a good look during the pandemic at how Democrat-run schools are sexually corrupting their children and obsessing on race.” The recent elections rejected everything the Democrats are promoting, but they don’t care. You gonna get it anyway because they know better than you. Proverbs 28:15 says, “As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.” In other words, until morale improves the beatings will continue. The real agenda is to trample everybody’s rights while convincing them they are getting justice. Meantime, these corrupt politicians continue to pad their pockets and keep their power. It’s the remade American Democracy. Say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

We are so quick to anger. Yet the Bible tells us, “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires” (James 1:19–20 NLT).
 
Some people will explode and be angry, and then they’re over it. But then there are others who won’t have an outburst but instead will just seethe on the inside. It reminds me of this statement from Oswald Chambers: “The man who loses his temper quickest is the one who finds it quickest. The man you need to beware of is not the man who flares up, but the man who smoulders, who is vindictive and harbors vengeance.”
 
The problem with a bitter and angry person is they’re never content to keep it to themselves. They want to spread it around. Instead of dealing with it, instead of going to the person they’re angry with or have a conflict with and seeking to resolve the problem, they hold it on the inside. They allow their anger to dig in deeper, and that becomes a root of bitterness.
 
But I’ve also come to realize there are some people who just love confrontations. And sadly, there are a lot of people like that in the church today. They’re always nitpicking, complaining, and arguing.
 
On the other hand, those who are truly spiritual are not hypercritical. They’re gracious, compassionate, and loving people.
 
So when someone seems to enjoy constantly running others down, it’s because something is wrong in their spiritual life. And don’t be surprised to find that the person who whines the most and is critical of the smallest things in the lives of others is guilty of something far worse.
