The word Antichrist has two meanings: 1) against the Christ, and 2) instead of the Christ. The Antichrist will be against the Christ, meaning he will be an enemy of the Christ, and he will try to replace the Christ, meaning he will be a false Christ. In the New Testament, we read that:
Many people have opposed Christ, but other than Satan, who caused Him to sweat great drops of blood, there has never been a more sinister or worthy opponent of God on the face of planet Earth. Many false Christs, false prophets, and deceivers have come and gone, but there has never been a greater or more evil deceiver than this man. One, concerning the next president of the U.S.: on Aug. 30, 2023, Resist the Mainstream reported that Tucker Carlson believes that former Pres. Trump could be a target for assassination. Carlson believes that some of Trump’s enemies are desperate to keep him from getting the Republican Party nomination and then being elected to the presidency again. Trump’s enemies have falsely accused him, impeached him, and indicted him on several charges. They are trying to keep his name off the ballots in some states, and every effort has failed up to now. The article does not say it, but Trump’s enemies want to replace “America First” with “Globalism First.” Guess what? According to Bible prophecy, God will soon allow them to bring America into a world government, cause them to give power to the satanic Antichrist, and their fate will be sealed forever. This is not something to rejoice about, but it is God’s Word, so it must happen. Two, concerning deceit at the end of the age: on Sept. 6, 2023, the staff at Prophecy News Watch (PNW) posted an article that people are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to produce realistic-looking fake videos. PNW reported that NBC recently viewed 50 videos that were posted on social media websites (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) that appeared to be created to swindle people out of their money. According to the article, “Some experts are warning the first ‘deepfake election’ will arrive next year, when a substantial number of voters will see political disinformation videos online and not be able to tell with certainty whether they’re real.” Here is a link to the article: https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=6336 Three, concerning recent reports that Pres. Biden is tentatively planning to declare another pandemic, gradually move to a full-scale lockdown, and try to force everyone to wear a face mask and get vaccinated against a new very bad virus by Dec. 2023: on Aug. 30, 2023, it was reported that former Pres. Trump expressed his opinion that Biden (or those who support him) are planning to steal another election. Trump believes the purpose of declaring another pandemic is to “justify more lockdowns, more censorship, more illegal drop boxes, more mail-in ballots, and trillions of dollars in payoffs to their political allies heading into the 2024 election.” (More: On Sept. 3, 2023, it was reported that a growing number of people are declaring that they will not comply with another round of lockdowns, mandates to wear a face mask, forced vaccinations, etc.) Four, concerning pandemics, hunger, and beasts that will kill multitudes during the Tribulation Period (Rider on the Pale Horse): on Mar. 16, 2023, Fresno County Health Officials discovered an abandoned biolab in Reedley, Cal. On Sept. 5, 2023, Resist the Mainstream reported that a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) investigation has “identified 20 different infectious agents inside the building, including tuberculosis, dengue, HIV, COVID-19, and malaria.” More than one company has been involved, they are not fully cooperating with the CDC, and combined, they have received 16 known shipments from China in recent years. (Question: If the U.S. is going to keep its border with Mexico wide open, why does it matter if China is sending unidentified materials to an illegal biolab in Cal.?) Five, on Aug. 28, 2023, Pres. Biden’s Press Sec., Karine Jean-Pierre, said an updated Covid-19 jab will be available in mid-Sept. and Pres. Biden wants Americans to take it. (Reminder: On Aug. 11, 2023, it was reported that a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report says 120,000 children in the U.S. have died suddenly following an mRNA vaccination for COVID-19.) Six, concerning deceit and a population decline: in 1996, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Ivermectin as safe for human use against a variety of diseases. Then, on Aug. 21, 2021, and on Aug. 26, 2022, the FDA posted ads on its website advising people to stop using Ivermectin for the treatment of Covid-19. The FDA had already declared it safe for human use; some called it a miracle drug, it was saving lives, and then the FDA recommended that people stop using it to treat COVID-19. Three doctors sued the FDA in Federal Court for suggesting that a medicine that the FDA had approved as safe for human use was unsafe against Covid-19. The FDA’s lawyers argued that the FDA was not mandating that people stop using Ivermectin because it was unsafe; they were just recommending that people stop using it. One of the doctors was suspended and later forced to resign from her job for prescribing Ivermectin. On Sept. 1, 2023, a Federal Judge ruled that the FDA abused its authority by urging people to stop using Ivermectin. The judge ruled that the doctors can now sue the FDA for suggesting that the doctors were prescribing a medicine that was unsafe. Society is witnessing lying, deceit, and corruption at the highest levels of government. Unfortunately, many medical professionals went along with it, or people would not have lost their jobs over this issue. Seven, concerning deceit and wickedness: on Sept. 3, 2023, it was reported that Louisiana has had more than 440 wildfires this year, and the largest wildfire in the state’s history (called the Tiger Island Fire) is burning right now. Was it caused by climate change? For your information, state officials have confirmed that it was started by arson. Eight, concerning the decline of America, deceit by the media and many politicians: in an interview on Sept. 2, 2023, Fox News Anchor Sean Hannity asked former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard about the politicization of a recent shooting in Florida, and Gabbard responded:
America cannot be united if the media and many politicians do not start telling the truth. (More: We now know that 51 government officials, former government officials, etc., put their signature on a false story when they signed a letter saying the Hunter Biden laptop story was a Russian information operation. When will the U.S. Dept. of Justice prosecute these people? Probably never because many of them worked for or once worked for the FBI, CIA, etc.) Nine, concerning a normalization agreement (peace) between Israel and Saudi Arabia: on Sept. 4, 2023, it was reported that a senior Israeli official said an agreement hinges on U.S. defense guarantees (safety) for Saudi Arabia (not Israeli concessions to the Palestinians). “Peace and safety” are words that every student of Bible prophecy understands. Ten, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age: the India Meteorological Dept. (IMD) recently reported that on Sept. 2, 2023, there were 61,000 lightning strikes in two hours in Odisha that killed 12 people and injured 14. IMD warned that extreme conditions (heavy rain, flooding, and lightning) could continue for the next five days. FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6). Finally, are you Rapture Ready? If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this. Ultimately true peace will return to Israel when Jesus returns at His Second Coming. When the people of Jerusalem come to know the Prince of Peace as their personal savior and invite Him to come back to their city, then Jesus will return to Jerusalem. From Jerusalem He will rule and reign over all the earth. Did you know that? In Matthew 23, at the end of that chapter, we read: Matthew 23:27–“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Bible prophecy envisions peace in the region in two stages. First, there will be a false peace engineered by a false messiah. Ultimately, the world will witness an even greater and everlasting peace between nations at the return of Jesus Christ as mentioned earlier. The Prophet Zechariah in the Old Testament prophesied the Jerusalem would become focal point in International affairs that would impact the entire world in the last days: Zechariah 12:2-3–“Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. Just a few years ago, in the year 2020, the world witnessed the signing of the Abraham Accords, which represented a normalization of relations between Israel and the Gulf States of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, followed by Sudan and Morocco. Thus, there have already been many economically, socially, culturally, and politically. The nations normalizing ties want peace with Israel in but also for defense reasons, as Israel has the most powerful military in the Middle East. Its students of Bible prophecy, we should expect a false peace to come before the true and lasting peace. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6, the Apostle Paul detailed the events of what he called the “Day of the Lord.” I wrote about the Day of the LORD in a previous blog: https://bibleprophecyfortoday.com/2022/04/27/the-day-of-the-lord/ Paul wrote about a future time when everyone is saying, “Peace and safety,” and then sudden destruction comes: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6–But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. Thus, when we see events unfold that point towards the manifestations of what was spoken of in the Holy Writ centuries ago, we need to pay attention. It is now being reported that Israel and Saudi Arabia have begun negotiations that are being brokered by the United States and a major topic for discussion involves the implementation of a Saudi-based Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine. The Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine solutions was published in the Al Arabiya News on 8 June 2022. Its author – Ali Shihabi – is a confidant of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister – Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) and also a member of MBS’s advisory board on Neom – a US$500 billion megacity being built in north-western Saudi Arabia covering an area equal to the size of Israel. The plan calls for a merger of Jordan, Gaza as well as parts of Judeau and Samaria, otherwise known as the West Bank. Furthermore, the plan has not been rejected by either Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Liberation Organization or King Abdullah, the ruler of Jordan. NOTE: The Gaza Strip and the West Bank are two Palestinian territories that were part of Mandate Palestine and were captured by Israel during the Six-Day War in 1967. Alongside this self-governing Gaza Strip, the Israeli-occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem are claimed by the State of Palestine as its sovereign territory. Most world leaders will accept a false peace treaty, described in Daniel 9:27, which the activities of a future false messiah will bring about. This false messiah will be so politically influential and powerful, so militarily strong that he will guarantee this peace agreement. Then, after a few years, he will break that treaty himself, and Israel’s temporarily peaceful neighbors will turn and make war against the Jewish people. Yet, in spite of this growing peace among Israel’s neighbors, of greater concern is whether or not these efforts will eventually to bring the Shiites or Muslim radicals into this unity. This would mean Iran. Now let’s briefly discuss the role of Iran vs. Saudi Arabia and how this ultimately effects Israel: In Islam, the title Ayatollah in Arabic translates to “Sign of Allah”. It is also the highest ranking title given to Usuli Twelver Shī‘ah clerics after the Grand Ayatollah. Ayatollahs are considered experts in Islamic jurisprudence, ethics, and philosophy. Currently, there are only 47 Ayatollahs in the world. Out of the 47 Ayatollahs, 17 of them are assigned to 8 Muslim countries outside Iran. In January of 2016, the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman, decided to behead one of the Ayatollahs, Nimr Al-Nimr. Sheikh Nimr Baqr al-Nimr, 56, was among a group of 47 people put to death in 12 different cities around the country, either by firing squad or beheading, according to a statement from Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry. As a result, much havoc was unleashed. For example, Shiites instigated rioting in several countries and the Saudi Embassy in Mashhad, Iran was set ablaze with calls to destroy Saudi Arabia which echoed throughout the Shiite world while Iran vowed to destroy Al-Saud and the Iranian government stated Saudi Arabia would pay a “high price” for the executions. The former prime minister of Iraq, Nuri al-Maliki, openly stated that the execution of the prominent Shi’ite cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr by Saudi Arabia would be the downfall of the Gulf kingdom’s government. Mr al-Maliki, who was prime minister of Iraq between 2006 and 2014, said in a statement that his countrymen “strongly condemn these detestable sectarian practices and affirm that the crime of executing Sheikh al-Nimr will topple the Saudi regime as the crime of executing the martyr al-Sadr did to Saddam,” referencing the death of another prominent cleric in Iraq in 1980. Shiite Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia are major rivals in the Middle East and are arrayed on opposing sides in several regional conflicts. The rivalry between these two is not new, with Saudi Arabia having destroyed Shiite holy places and Iran making countless claims of persecution. Iran has recently forbidden its citizens from traveling to Mecca to practice the Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam. Iran’s prohibition on traveling to Islam’s holiest sites, Mecca and Medina, could allude to the possibility that Iran will even eventually abandon Mecca altogether. I believe that event, seven years ago may have indeed been the catalyst to what is now becoming a paradigm shift in the Middle East. According to Jewish Rabbis it is Iran that will pose a final threat to Israel prior to the advent of the Messiah. Iranian leaders have repeatedly stated that their goal is to wipe Israel off the map. Isaiah 21—The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land. A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease. Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it. My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me. For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail: And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the Lord God of Israel hath spoken it. I wrote about this last week, but I have learned more since that time. As part of a blockbuster deal to normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, the Saudis want to achieve some sort of a diplomatic breakthrough for the Palestinians. That won’t be an independent Palestinian state, because Benjamin Netanyahu would never accept such an outcome. But the Saudis have floated another plan that might be acceptable to Netanyahu’s government, and it would result in a historic division of the Holy Land. As I discussed the other day, the United States is the mediator for these negotiations, and it is being reported that the Biden administration wants to get an agreement finalized “before the end of the first quarter of next year”. Joe Biden is quite concerned about his legacy, and he knows that there is no guarantee that he will win in 2024. The Saudis are also quite motivated to get a deal done, because they realize that a deal may not be possible once a Republican enters the White House. So the clock is ticking, and even though the “major elements of a potential normalization agreement” have been hashed out, we are being told there is still much work to be done… White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Thursday that the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia have a general idea of the major elements of a potential normalization agreement between Jerusalem and Riyadh, but there is still much more work to do before a deal can be signed. “Many of the elements of a pathway to normalization are now on the table. We don’t have a framework, we don’t have the terms ready to be signed. There is still work to do,” Sullivan told reporters aboard Air Force One, as US President Joe Biden made his way to India in order to attend the Group of 20 Summit in New Delhi this weekend. So that makes it sound like negotiations are fairly advanced at this stage. According to Axios, the Biden administration has made it abundantly clear to the Israelis that there will be no agreement at all unless they are willing “to make significant concessions to the Palestinians”… The Biden administration told the Israeli government last week that it would have to make significant concessions to the Palestinians as part of any possible mega-deal with Saudi Arabia that includes normalization between the kingdom and Israel, four U.S. officials and a source briefed on the issue told Axios. So what would “significant concessions” look like? We know that there will be no independent Palestinian state while Netanyahu is in charge. But would Netanyahu support merging the Palestinians into the nation of Jordan? Supposedly this is a plan that is favored by the Saudis. On June 8th, 2022 an article that was authored by a very close confidant of Mohammed Bin Salman named Ali Shihabi set forth the details of this plan. According to Shihabi, this new entity “would include present-day Jordan, Gaza, and the West Bank”… This proposed enlarged kingdom would include present-day Jordan, Gaza, and the West Bank (areas populated by Palestinians attached in a contiguous manner and physically connected to Jordan, i.e., not broken up into islands). Israeli arguments as to the need to retain the Jordan Valley become moot since the valley will now be controlled by a Jordanian government with a reliable record of maintaining peace with Israel. The convenient argument that Israel has no “peace partner” will now also be eliminated. Shihabi seems to think that Israel would agree to this if the Palestinians were to relinquish all claims to the city of Jerusalem… Jerusalem, despite the fact that neither Arabs nor Muslims have a hope of dislodging Israel from it, is, given its symbolism, a key bargaining chip in Palestinian hands. The formal relinquishment of any claims to Jerusalem (with an appropriate arrangement for the holy places) can be an important concession used to secure the foregoing terms. The Palestinians, after all, are the only party who can do this and, hence, completely legitimize Israel in the eyes of the region and the world. And Shihabi also envisions a democratic vote in which the agreement would be ratified by both the Jordanians and the Palestinians… Such a “deal” would need to be ratified by some form of collective decision of the Jordanians and of the Palestinians, defined here as those who are residents of the occupied territories and those that are stateless in the diaspora. Anybody with no skin in the game has no business deciding here, and this means other Arabs or Muslims, or even Palestinians who are comfortably settled in other countries with full citizenship. While “rejectionists” will likely resort to violence, the fight to crush these groups will be immeasurably strengthened by the support of the Palestinian masses, who will have voted in favor of this solution. Should the Palestinians vote against this solution then they would have collectively agreed, at best, to continue to bear the heavy burden of occupation and statelessness with all its consequences for the indefinite future. Interestingly, this framework has also been discussed by the Israelis in recent months. In fact, it was floated in an editorial that was published in the Times of Israel on June 4th of this year… Gaza and the West Bank should be demilitarized and reincorporated as part of Jordan, perhaps the West Bank first and Gaza sometime later. In that editorial, the article that Ali Shihabi wrote in which this plan was originally proposed was specifically referenced… As suggested elsewhere, Jordan will change its name to reflect this territorial union (the name “Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine” has lately been suggested in an article published in the Saudi Royal Family-owned news outlet “Al-Arabiya News”, last June 8, 2022), and an internationally recognized border between Israel and the Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine will be established to recognize the new reality. That doesn’t mean that this is what is going to happen. During the course of negotiations, so many things can change. So we will have to wait and see what the final result of the negotiations will be. The same editorial that I just mentioned above also calls for an “international aid program” that would be similar to the Marshall plan… An international aid program – similar to the Marshall Plan for Europe after World War II – should be established, as part of the solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, to develop the economy of Jordan and integrate the Palestinians in the expanded Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine. A big enough pile of money could go a long way toward convincing the Palestinian people to accept such a deal. And we do know that the Palestinians and the Jordanians have already been developing much closer ties. Here is just one example… The Minister of Justice, Ahmad Al-Ziadat, representing the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and his Palestinian counterpart, Mohammed Al-Shalaldeh, representing the State of Palestine, signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of legal cooperation between the two countries. The signing took place in the presence of the Secretary-General of Judicial Affairs, Judge Saad Al-Louzi, the Secretary-General of Administrative and Financial Affairs, Khaloud Al-Abadi, and several directors of the ministry’s departments. The memorandum included various areas of cooperation, including the exchange of experiences in legal regulations and legislation, providing training opportunities for legal experts and researchers, sharing experiences regarding alternatives to imprisonment and detention, automation and digitization of procedures, human rights, and facilitating access to justice. Ultimately, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch for the Palestinians to consider themselves citizens of Jordan. Before the war in 1967, those that lived in the West Bank were Jordanian citizens. Once again, I must stress that we do not know if any of this will actually happen. But negotiations are happening behind the scenes at a furious pace. Just last week, Palestinian authorities were supposed to talk with both Saudi officials and U.S. officials… Officials from the Palestinian Authority (PA) held talks in Riyadh with Saudi counterparts on Wednesday. They were also due to see US officials. If all of the parties can agree to a deal, I would expect it to be announced during the first half of 2024. Of course, 2024 is already shaping up to be a historic year for so many other reasons. The Saudi plan to divide the Holy Land may be part of the final deal, or it may end up on the cutting room floor. But if this normalization agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel does divide up the Holy Land, that is going to have enormous implications for all of us. So let us keep watching these developments very carefully, because once the Holy Land is formally divided nothing will ever be the same again. Trending Toward A Cashless Society: One Hundred Nations Now Exploring Central Bank Digital Currencies – By Mark Hitchcock - https://harbingersdaily.com/trending-toward-a-cashless-society-one-hundred-nations-now-exploring-central-bank-digital-currencies/ The Bible tells us that when the antichrist comes on the scene, he’s going to gain a foothold of global power. The beginning strategy of his power grab will be to first gain control over the world economy. It’s a lot faster and easier to gain economic control with all the means that are available today than it is to achieve military and political power. Once you have that economic control, you control people’s lives, and you can then take them over politically and militarily as well. According to Revelation chapter 13, the antichrist will have iron-fisted control over all buying and selling. Bible prophecy teachers for decades have said that a cashless society will be required. What we see today developing in our world is a cashless society on steroids. Recently, a new entity was created called the FedNow Service. The FedNow Service is a portal created by the Federal Reserve, which permits financial institutions to exchange funds digitally in real-time. The government website in early July stated: The Federal Reserve on Thursday announced that its new system for instant payments, the FedNow® Service, is now live. Banks and credit unions of all sizes can sign up and use this tool to instantly transfer money for their customers, any time of the day, on any day of the year. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell [said,] “Over time, as more banks choose to use this new tool, the benefits to individuals and businesses will include enabling a person to immediately receive a paycheck, or a company to instantly access funds when an invoice is paid.” To start, 35 early-adopting banks and credit unions, as well as the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service, are ready with instant payments capabilities via the FedNow Service. In addition, 16 service providers are ready to support payment processing for banks and credit unions. CoinDesk published an article recently that reads, “Federal Reserve’s ‘FedNow’ Launch Triggers Fresh Speculation Over Digital Dollar,” subheading, “While FedNow is currently not tied to any initiative for a digital U.S. dollar or the crypto space in general, experts warn that the system might end up as a precursor to the infrastructure for a central bank digital currency.” Immediately, the creators of the FedNow said this isn’t related to Central Bank digital currency (CBDC), but many experts are warning that’s exactly what it is. The CoinDesk author continued: The U.S. Federal Reserve denies that its new instant payments service, FedNow, is in any way tied to the digital asset space. But experts say the new system could lay the groundwork for the infrastructure needed for a potential central bank digital currency (CBDC) in the U.S. The FedNow project adopts a key goal of the digital asset industry: moving money around easily and quickly, and at any time of day or the week, even if banks are closed. FedNow will operate 24 hours a day. “This is a payment system, not a digital token or a CBDC, but it is something that can be used to facilitate the creation of a CBDC,” said Jim Bianco, president of Bianco Research. Dave Weisberger, CEO and co-founder of CoinRoutes, said this: “If FedNow does indeed become a programmable CBDC, then it could theoretically be used to block payments for items the government doesn’t favor or to cut out people from the financial system who are seen as threatening in some way to governing authorities, aka, political opponents.” “In that situation, things could get dystopian very quickly,” Weisberger added. Of course, the “dystopian” government we know from Scripture is the rule and reign of the global empire and economic system of the coming antichrist. “Officials at the Fed had been studying the potential for a government-issued digital currency,” CoinDesk further stated. On March 9th, 2022, President Biden signed an executive order that put into motion the machinery and the mechanism to develop a CBDC. In preparation for the G20 Summit, the Bank of International Settlements published a report laying out the Central Bank’s efforts to prepare for a CBDC and all its benefits. This is moving forward at a dramatic speed. FedNow seems to be the infrastructure or platform that can easily be used when a central bank digital currency is brought online. At the same time that FedNow was emerging, the World Economic Forum (WEF) published principles of central bank digital currency interoperability. At a recent WEF event, economist Eswar Prasad bragged about how CBDC can be used to limit your purchases of whatever bureaucrats happen not to like—that’s where this is headed, and they’re not even hiding this. One hundred nations are now exploring CBDC. Twelve central banks have pilot programs for digital currencies, and the EU already has a “digital euro.” The problem with CBDCs is that they are programmable, traceable, expirable, and controllable by the government. For example, if a person goes to a gas station and they have a central bank digital currency, it can be determined how much money they are allowed to spend on gasoline. That’s how they will control the environmental agenda that we see taking place. There’s a pilot program in India for CBDC. Reuters reported, “The Reserve Bank of India is targeting one million transactions per day through the central bank digital currency (CBDC) by the end of this year.” China is doubling down on CBDC with the aim of controlling its population even more. There’s a revolution for retail payments in the country, whose government is demanding all retail spaces now accept digital currencies. The wider goal is the total elimination of all physical forms of currency. “In the future, commercial electronic payment tools may fully meet the needs of the digital economy and society and completely replace cash,” the Chinese central bank chief said. The trend toward a cashless society, they say, is inexorable. All of this is a striking foreshadowing of what we read in Revelation 13. It’s just another flashing light that the coming of Christ is near. It’s also a very powerful confirmation and validation of the truth of the Bible. Think about John writing those words in Revelation, 2000 years ago, that no one can buy or sell in the world without the mark of the beast. During that time, the described scenario was impossible. It was even impossible 50 or 100 years ago, but it’s possible with the technology we see today. It’s just another validation of the inspiration of God’s Word, how trustworthy it is, and how we can believe it for all these prophecies that are yet unfulfilled. Daily Jot: The duty and obligation of standing - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Deuteronomy 29 finds Moses addressing the children of Israel recounting how the Lord God brought them out of Egypt and the many miracles that kept them alive in the desert for 40 years. Verses 9-12 say, “Today you are standing, all of you, before the Lord your God—your heads, your tribes, your leaders and your officers…The purpose is that you should enter into the covenant of the Lord…that he can establish you today for himself as a people, and so that for you he will be God.” The Israelites were soon to enter the promised land and they were standing before God in reaffirmation of the covenant that they would be God’s people and he would be their God. There is a lot about “standing” in the Bible. We are encouraged in Ephesians 6:13 to “having done all, stand.” There are over 100 verses exhorting us to “stand firm.” As believers, we must know that “standing” is important, just by the mere multiple mentions of it in scripture. Galatians 5:1 exhorts us to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” I am reminded of a sermon by Rev. Jacob Duche’ delivered to George Washington’s troops on July 7, 1774 titled “The Duty of Standing Fast In Our Spiritual and Temporal Liberties.” It was essentially required reading for Washington’s troops when they were encamped at Valley Forge. In it, Duche’ described then what many of us face today. He said, “However severe, my dear Brethren, the loss of our temporal Liberties may be, there is certainly a Bondage far more severe than this, yea, far more cruel, than that of ISRAEL under their EGYPTIAN Task-masters. A Bondage, not only to men, but to the fallen spirits of darkness, seeking to exercise over us a joint power and dominion with our own irregular and corrupt passions. A Bondage universal, from which no Son of Adam hath ever been exempt; a tyranny, whose baleful influences have been felt from the fall of man down to this very day. It has seized not only upon the body, but upon the soul. It has erected its throne in the heart, and from thence imposes its arbitrary decrees. It is confined to no age or sex, no state or condition of human life.” Even today, we are experiencing this tyranny of satan and those who do his work. Duche’ concluded,” LASTLY, “STAND FAST” by a steady CONSTANCY and PERSEVERANCE. Difficulties unlooked for may yet arise, and trials present themselves sufficient to shake the utmost firmness of human fortitude. Be prepared, therefore, for the worst. Suffer not your spirits to evaporate by too violent an ebullition now. Be not too eager to bring matters to an extremity; lest you should be wearied out by a continued exertion, and your constancy should fail you at the most important crisis. Coolly and deliberately wait for those events which are in the hands of Providence, and depend upon him alone for strength and expedients suited to your necessities.” And so we should take heed of this advice. How we stand is important. For someday, we alone, shall stand before the Lord. It came as no surprise to Him. He knew who would betray Him, He knew He would rise from the dead, and He knew exactly when these things would happen. And at Caesarea Philippi, He began to tell His disciples what He was facing. Matthew’s Gospel says, “From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead” (Matthew 16:21 NLT). In the original language, Jesus used a word for “killed” that could be translated “murdered.” Peter couldn’t believe that Jesus was saying this. In Peter’s mind, this simply couldn’t happen. It was commendable that Peter was truly concerned about the Lord. But he was missing what Jesus was trying to say. And he went too far when he took Jesus aside and “began to reprimand him,” saying, “Heaven forbid, Lord. . . . This will never happen to you!” (verse 22 NLT). Interestingly, the word translated “reprimand” in this verse carries the idea of someone in a position of authority rebuking a subordinate. That is the way Peter began to reprimand Jesus. And the language implies that he did this repeatedly. Imagine it for a moment. Jesus had just made a statement about His impending suffering and death. He obviously was in anguish over it. And then Peter took an authoritarian position and repeatedly began to reprimand Him. Peter had lost touch with reality. Jesus said to him, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s” (verse 23 NLT). We have to love a guy like Peter, because he was so utterly human. He said what many of us probably would have said in such a situation. He was impulsive, impetuous, and hotheaded but also very honest, courageous, and intelligent. And perhaps he was the most accessible of all the followers of Jesus. May God help us to trust Him when He doesn’t do things the way we think He should and when we’re tempted to say, “Why, Lord?” God is thinking of His eternal purposes. We can only see what will benefit us in this moment. But God is looking at the big picture. And He knows what He’s doing. It is during these times that we must trust Him, cast ourselves at His feet, and say, “Lord, I admit to You that I don’t understand. I don’t know why. But I thank You that You are in control.” There are a lot of things that will happen in life that we won’t understand. It is during those times that we must fall back on what we do understand: God loves us. And He is looking out for our best interests.
