Rivers, great moving bodies of water, serve us in so many ways. They supply humanity and wildlife with water necessary for drinking, and habitat, without which neither could survive. They help us with transportation and a source of energy. Rivers provide us with fish of various varieties to eat, along with crayfish, mollusks, and certain waterfowl. Plants that grow on the river banks and floodplains are good for making teas, medicines, and wonderful-smelling perfumes. Rivers support agriculture and farming. There is one thing, however, most people never think of a river providing — necessary political boundaries. For example, the Mekong River furnishes a divide between Laos and Thailand. Rivers create borders between nations. In Europe, the Bidasoa River establishes the borderline between France and Spain. In South America, the Amazon River forms the borders between Columbia, Peru, and Brazil. Many rivers around the world and throughout history have served as political boundaries between countries. The Euphrates River is one of the most significant rivers in history. It holds enormous historical, cultural, and religious significance, playing a vital role in the formation of ancient civilizations. It’s mentioned in the Bible numerous times and is connected to prophetic events. Dr. David Jeremiah, senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California, writes in his book, The Book of Signs: “The Euphrates is one of the greatest rivers in the world. It flows from the mountains of western Turkey through Syria, and continues on right through the heart of Iraq, not far from Baghdad. It eventually unites with the Tigris to become the Shatt al-Arab, and finally empties into the Persian Gulf. The entirety of the Euphrates flows through Muslim territory. In Genesis 15 and Deuteronomy 11, the Lord specified that the Euphrates would be the easternmost border of the promised land. It serves both as a border and a barrier between Israel and her enemies.” When a sixth angel pours out his bowl of God’s wrath on this rebellious world, it is emptied on the Great River Euphrates. Here is how the prophecy reads: “Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west without hindrance. And I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs leap from the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. They are demonic spirits who work miracles and go out to all the rulers of the world to gather them for battle against the Lord on that great judgment day of God the Almighty. “‘Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.’ “And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.” In this passage, there is provided another important reason for interpreting the prophecies of Revelation by the literal method. J. Dwight Pentecost, who authored, Things to Come, correctly defines the literal method of interpretation in this way: “The literal method of interpretation is that method that gives to each word the same exact basic meaning it would have in normal, ordinary, customary usage, whether employed in writing, speaking or thinking.” Pentecost then adds: “Inasmuch as God gave the Word of God as a revelation to men, it would be expected that His revelation would be given in such exact and specific terms that His thoughts would be accurately conveyed and understood when interpreted according to the laws of grammar and speech. Such presumptive evidence favors the literal interpretation, for an allegorical method of interpretation would cloud the meaning of the message delivered by God to men. The fact that the Scriptures continually point to literal interpretations of what was formally written adds evidence as to the method to be employed in interpreting the Word. Perhaps one of the strongest evidences for the literal method is the use the New Testament makes of the Old Testament. When the Old Testament is used in the New it is used only in a literal sense. One need only study the prophecies which were fulfilled in the first coming of Christ, in his life, his ministry, and his death, to establish that fact. No prophecy which has been completely fulfilled has been fulfilled in any way but literally.” Without question, Pentecost’s assertions are true. The theological system that would spiritualize this text, negates the covenants that God has made with Israel, one that sees this crossing of the Euphrates by the kings of the east as a representation of the forces of evil amassing for the final battle but denies the specifics of geographical locations only as metaphors for broader spiritual realities, are mistakenly muddying the clear and apparent teaching of the passage. All of the other plagues were real, some of them paralleled the plagues that occurred in Egypt, which were real. There is no reason not to see this drying up of the Euphrates River as real, too. Did not God literally open up the Red Sea so the children of Israel could escape from Pharoah and his chariots? Did not God literally part the waters of the Jordan so that the people could pass over into the land of Canaan? These are historical facts. Therefore, there is no reason not to believe that God will make the Euphrates dry so the kings of the East may cross over and assemble with all the armies of the world at a place called Armageddon. It is easy to understand the previous afflictions mentioned in Revelation chapter 16 as plagues: bodily sores, the corruption of the sea and fresh waters, intense heat from the sun, and regional darkness. However, the sixth bowl, which describes a massive gathering of armies to do battle, almost seems out of place. Nevertheless, has there ever been a plague through the ages which has brought more misery to mankind than war? Certainly not. While the word “plague” may not be commonly found in ancient texts to describe war, many ancient writings, including those from various cultures and historical periods, describe war as a calamity and a scourge. These descriptions reflect the recognition of the devastating impact of war on societies, and in effect similar to that of a terrible plague. In more modern times, the famous Russian author of War and Peace, Leo Tolstoy had strong anti-war sentiments. In his novel and essays, Tolstoy portrayed war as a senseless and destructive force that afflicted humanity like a plague. He explored the human suffering and moral dilemmas caused by armed conflict. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke out against the Vietnam War, and in his famous “Beyond Vietnam” speech delivered in 1967, he referred to the war as a “plague,” stating, “A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.” Humanity has always had a penchant for war. It’s inconceivable the world as described in Revelation chapter 16 would even have the energy for combat, but it’s obvious that even in the most deplorable conditions the human race is ready to take up arms. This is unquestionably a moment when God is sovereignly directing the course of human affairs, allowing evil, but overruling and redirecting it to accomplish His righteous ends. As Pentecost notes: “[T]his period is peculiarly the time when God’s wrath and judgment fall on earth. This is not wrath from men, nor from Satan, except as God may use these channels for the execution of His will … This period differs from all preceding tribulation, not only in intensity but also in the kind of tribulation, since it comes from God himself.” One may ask, what is driving this passionate pursuit of war foretold in Revelation? The apostle John answers, saying he witnessed three evil spirits leap from the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. He said these revolting spirits looked like frogs, not that they were frogs, but that they looked like frogs. Frogs are mentioned in the biblical account of the Ten Plagues of Egypt in the Book of Exodus. In Exodus 8:1-15, frogs make up one of the plagues that God sends upon Egypt as a punishment for Pharaoh’s refusal to release the Israelites. Frogs infested Egypt, covering the land and even entering people’s houses. Frogs are associated with judgment from God. Frogs were also considered unclean animals, as outlined by the Mosaic Law in the Old Testament. Leviticus 11:9-12 lists various creatures that are unclean and should not be eaten, including frogs. So, this classification associates frogs with impurity or evil. In the context of Revelation, the use of frog-like spirits emerging from the mouths of evil entities is meant to convey the idea of unclean, deceptive, or demonic influences. These frog-like spirits are agents of deception and manipulation, working in alignment with the dragon (Satan), the beast (the Antichrist), and the false prophet (a false religious authority). What evil is being communicated in Word and miracles by these unclean and demonic spirits? Gary G. Cohen and Salem Kirban in Revelation Visualized suggest: “In verse 13 we see that from the Infernal Trinity, there goes out a clamor for the armies of this world to gather together in northern Palestine, the approach valley-plain to Jerusalem, Armageddon (verse 16). Why? We do not yet know the Satanic reasons that these three will give to the world. Some have suggested that the Western world will desire to have a showdown against the eastern armies marching to Palestine. This may be it. Perhaps both East and West are coming as a United Nations force to once and for all settle the Middle East by totally annihilating Israel; and representative armies from all over the world are to participate in this necessary ‘for the good of mankind,’ genocide? This would certainly fit the circumstances of Joel 3 and Zechariah 12-14.” But in reality, we can’t say with certainty what these wicked spirits are communicating to draw the nations into conflict. Neither is it clear what specific enemy the kings of the east are crossing the dried Euphrates River to fight. Some scholars propose the reference to the kings of the east crossing the Euphrates signifies a military movement in a specific region, such as the Middle East or Asia. This interpretation suggests the kings of the East may be involved in regional conflicts or power struggles rather than a global war. Others suggest the kings of the East will go to war against the Antichrist and his global forces of evil in the end times. It is believed that they will take part in the final battle of Armageddon, joining forces with other nations against the Antichrist’s regime. Still, others say the kings of the east will wage war against Israel in the end times. This theory suggests they may be motivated by geopolitical or religious reasons to engage in a conflict with Israel. What is clear, however, is whatever the reason, God sees it as an assault on his Sovereignty. Whatever the reason, God, the maestro of history, is orchestrating the sound of every flat note to blend with the sharp notes of his melodic masterpiece. God is bringing about judgment by allowing evil and turning it in its course. He is corralling these nations into one place, Armageddon, also known as the Mount of Megiddo, to destroy them, and paving the way for Christ and his people to rule and reign. It is beyond futile to oppose the Lord. Finally, there is a caveat, a warning. The Lord says: “Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed” (vs. 15). J. Vernon McGee in his Read Thru the Bible series says: “The Lord Jesus Christ does come as a thief to the world at the end of the Great Tribulation … As we saw at the beginning of the Revelation, the whole earth will mourn because of him. They don’t want him to come. They would like to shut him out from ever returning to the earth.” The late W.A. Criswell, who was the famous senior pastor of the First Baptist Church, Dallas, said: “If a man will not hear the voice of God, he lays his heart open to listen to the voice of destruction, evil, and damnation. When the kings and the people and the armies of the earth will not listen to God, then they lay themselves open to listening to the persuasive voice of the spirits of darkness and evil … Oh, listen to the voice of God! There is salvation in none other.” In her book, Everyday Faith for Everyday Life, author Jan White tells a remarkable story. While President Dwight Eisenhower was vacationing in Denver, he came across a letter-like article in a newspaper that was written to him by a local reporter. The article was about a young boy named Paul Henry Haley, who was battling cancer. The Rocky Mountain News featured a picture of six-year-old Paul dressed as a cowboy, his arm around his mother. The article began with, “I’m writing this story to you, Mr. President, for a young fellow who hasn’t learned to write. He wants to see you, Ike, and although he doesn’t know it, that’s his dying wish.” To young Paul, President Eisenhower was a greater hero than even Hopalong Cassidy, a popular cowboy figure at the time. After reading the article, the President turned to one of his aides and said, “Let’s go see Paul Haley.” The presidential limousine, adorned with American flags on the fenders, pulled up one August Sunday morning in front of Paul Haley’s residence. President Eisenhower approached the front door and knocked. Paul’s stepfather, Donald Haley, answered the door in worn blue jeans, a dirty shirt, and a day’s worth of beard. He asked, “Can I help you?” President Eisenhower responded, “Is Paul here? Tell him the president would like to see him.” Little Paul, filled with wonder, appeared and met the President, who knelt and shook his hand. Paul, described as “wide-eyed and unbelieving,” accompanied the President into the living room. Eisenhower smiled and said, “Paul, I understand you wanted to see me.” They spent about five minutes visiting. Afterward, Paul had the chance to inspect the presidential limousine. President Eisenhower shared that he had a grandson around Paul’s age, named Dwight David Eisenhower, II. They exchanged a hug and a handshake before saying their goodbyes and the President departed. The Haley family experienced an unforgettable surprise that Sunday morning. Donald Haley later reflected, saying, “How can I ever forget standing there dressed as I was in those jeans and old, dirty shirt and an unshaven face to meet the President of the United States?” Consider carefully. Everything taking place nowadays is in motion for the return of Christ. He truly is coming again, suddenly and unexpectedly. Don’t be caught unaware, “naked and ashamed” (v.15). Be sure that you’ve trusted him for the forgiveness of your sins and that you’re prepared and properly clothed in his righteousness. Big Tech Beast System? - Technology Tycoons Are More Than Capable Of Influencing Society On A Worldwide Scale – By Mondo Gonzales - https://harbingersdaily.com/big-tech-beast-system-technology-tycoons-are-more-than-capable-of-influencing-society-on-a-worldwide-scale/ Most people have heard of the James Webb space telescope. It was launched in 2021, and is parked at an orbital location over 900,000 miles from earth. This space telescope mirror is over five times larger than the Hubble mirror and way more advanced. As Director of Prophecy Watchers’ own “Psalm 19 Project” observatory, I am awed by the images coming from the Webb telescope. The stunning magnitude of the greatness of God and the revealing of His glory (Psalm 19:1) makes humanity seem very small when we observe the grandeur of God’s creation. And even more so — when we understand that even this newest technology captures only a glimpse of His magnificence. One of the Webb’s recent images reveals over 45,000 extremely distant galaxies in a small portion of the sky! The size and scale of the universe that God created on the Fourth Day is beyond comprehension. Have you ever noticed how casually Genesis 1:16 references the creation of all the stars? It reads, “So God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and also the stars.” It is now estimated that there are 1-2 trillion galaxies with an average of 100-200 billion stars within each galaxy. God basically says, “Look what I did on a Wednesday.” These are the works of the power of His hands (Psalm 19:1-2), revealing the unfathomable heights of God’s compassion (Psalm 103:11) and wisdom (Isaiah 55:8-9). Sadly, like the audacious builders who envisioned a great tower that would touch the heavens, those in command of the Webb telescope have, so far, failed to give God the glory He deserves. Eyes to See, But Hearts that are Darkened Technology is advancing at a staggering pace. But it merely parallels advances in other arenas the coming Antichrist will leverage to fulfill his evil plans to enslave humanity during the Tribulation. The coming Beast system will require political, economic, social, governmental, religious, and technological advances that will enable the Antichrist to accomplish all of his desires. We must also remember that the Antichrist needs help to accomplish his goals. Even though he is empowered by the Dragon himself (Rev 13:2, 4), the Antichrist manipulates a coalition of ten kings to implement his worldwide Beast system. He will then subdue or remove three of them at a future time. Let’s consider how the Scriptures describe these ten “kings.” Daniel 7:19-20 KJV – “Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.” Daniel 7:24 KJV – “And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.” Revelation 17:12-13 KJV – “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” From the above passages, we learn three characteristics of these ten “kings”: 1. The Greek word for king (basileus) in Revelation 17:12 offers a broader nuance than merely what we understand regarding the word “king.” One of the best Greek lexicons (BDAG) has the following as its second entry: One who possesses unusual or transcendent power. This meaning seems consistent with Revelation 17:12, where we are told that these ten figures do not have a kingdom yet but will receive authority to rule as kings for the final “hour” of the Antichrist’s (Beast’s) reign in the seven-year Tribulation period. We will call them the “Ten Influencers” because they do have “unusual power” or some valuable level of authority that the Antichrist will seek to leverage (Rev 17:13). 2. They are not required to be in governmental or ruling positions at the time of their arrangement with the Antichrist. 3. When the time comes, they will give their significant influence or power to the Beast and in return, given the ability to rule with him for a short period in his final kingdom (Rev 17:13). There are a variety of interpretations of who the ten kings are. Some see them as leaders over geographical regions. This could be true, but as I mentioned above, they do not need to be actual governmental officials or literal kings. Instead, they could be what we know as oligarchs or technocrats, who will one day give their authority (technology/wealth/influence) to the Antichrist in exchange for being allowed to rule in his Beast system. Financial Oligarchs (Tycoons) When addressing technology, it is relevant to note that technological research and development is expensive. We are witnessing in our day the super-rich not often sticking to the one industry which made them wealthy, but instead spreading their wealth into sometimes completely disparate technologies or fields of research. For example, Elon Musk is involved in Twitter, Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, OpenAi, and the Boring company. It’s not rocket science to recognize that technology tycoons, with staggering amounts of money, are capable of influencing society on a worldwide scale. This influence can include shaping the political landscape through outright bribes or the political lobby system. This massive level of impact doesn’t require them to be in actual power or governmental positions. Instead, they wield their influence through proxies who purchase access to greedy politicians seeking to magnify their power. Technological Oligarchs (Technocrats) These technocrats partner with governments, NGOs, and financial institutions. One organization with extensive official and unofficial agreements with technocrats is the World Economic Forum (WEF). The WEF is dedicated to seeing a complete “reset” of the way life on Planet Earth functions. They are brazenly presenting their vision and pursuing technology to accomplish their goals by the year 2030 (known as Agenda 2030 and the Great Reset). In his book, The Fourth Industrial Revolution, Klaus Schwab highlighted 21 different up-and-coming technologies that he claimed will “break into the public domain to a significant degree,” and cause great shifts “to individuals, organizations, government and society.” The following is Klaus’ list of game-changing technologies: In addition, some ancillary technologies include: nanotechnology, quantum computing, biotechnology, the Internet of Things, decentralized consensus, fifth-generation (5G) wireless technologies, and satellite Internet technology for worldwide distribution. It is mind-boggling to think of the influence these technologies will have on world society — and how they will serve the purpose of the Antichrist: Satellite Internet Connectivity

Artificial Intelligence Most of the top 10 financial and technological oligarchs are involved in the research and advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In his 2018 book, A.I. Superpowers — China, Silicon Valley, and the New World Order, Kai-Fu Lee predicted, “Instead of dispersion of industry profits across different companies and regions, we will begin to see greater and greater concentration of these astronomical sums in the hands of a few.” This certainly sounds like financial oligarchs who wield incredible power and influence. AI needs three things to work effectively: big data, computing power, and algorithm engineers. Government policies supporting AI are also helpful. To help accomplish the computing power requirement, many of these same technological oligarchs are investing hundreds of millions of dollars in quantum computers, which are billions of times faster than modern supercomputers! It comes as no surprise that Google, Microsoft, and IBM are some of this field’s leaders. Biotechnology Elon Musk is heavily involved in connecting the human brain to technology. His “Neuralink” was given FDA approval for human trials in May 2023. Multi-billionaire software developer Bill Gates is pursuing implantable contraception, nano vaccine technology, and sub-cutaneous microchip implanting. Backed by his Foundation, MIT researchers are developing a method of recording a patient’s vaccination history through invisible dye injected under the skin. Genetically-Modified Farming Bill Gates has also spread his oligarchical influence further than any other. He has now become the largest private landowner of farmland in the United States. Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy, Jr. observed, “Gates has been [expanding] his power over global populations by buying devalued assets at fire-sale prices and maneuvering for monopoly control over public health…” Combined with his investments in global communications, digital currencies, high tech surveillance, data harvesting systems, and artificial intelligence, Bill Gates is the quintessential technocrat. Censorship Many financial and technological oligarchs are using their social media platforms and data acquisition to surveil, censor, cancel, deplatform, and shame those not deemed “woke enough” or willing to follow their own idiosyncratic rules and politically correct narratives. Many U.S. lawmakers and officials actually co-conspire with big tech oligarchs, encouraging them to police (censor) content more aggressively. Innovation Zones Nevada governor Steve Sisolak recently proposed giving corporations who own significant portions of land in Nevada a status equivalent to counties. They would be able to impose taxes, form school districts, courts of law, and provide other government services. What Lies Ahead As we look at end-time prophetic events coming to pass, it is becoming increasingly apparent that some of the most influential entities in both global policy and societal changes are not found in governments at all. Instead, multi-national financial and technological oligarchs are eager to conform the world to their own technocratic purposes. Could these figures be the Ten Kings (influencers) who give their “authority and power to the Beast (Antichrist)” and in return “receive authority to rule as kings with the Beast for one hour” (Rev 17:12-13)? Time will tell, but a compelling case can certainly be made that the technology these Ten Figures control will help the Antichrist consolidate and enforce his tyrannical rule over the entire earth. The spirit of the Antichrist is here now — and the Antichrist is coming. Thankfully, greater is He who is in us (and is coming again soon) than he who is in the world! (1 John 4:1-4)! Everyone in the continental United States will be able to see at least a partial eclipse, but those that are in the direct path of the eclipse will get to see a truly spectacular sight. Because the moon will be so far away from the Earth when this eclipse occurs, it will look like there is a “ring of fire” around the moon as it passes right in front of the sun… An annular “ring of fire” solar eclipse will be visible across the Western Hemisphere on Oct. 14, and Americans across several Western states will be able to see it. It’s called a “ring of fire” eclipse because only the outer ring of the sun will be visible during the height of the spectacle. This isn’t something that happens too often. If you want to see it for yourself, you will have to travel to the western half of the country. The path of the eclipse will first hit the U.S. in Oregon, and it will leave U.S. territory in the state of Texas… The annular eclipse will first be seen in the U.S. near Eugene, Oregon, before traveling across the country with visibility in parts of Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, California, Idaho, Colorado and Arizona. It will end in Texas. A partial solar eclipse is expected to be visible in all 48 contiguous states, as well as Alaska. Of course this is not the only major eclipse that is headed our way. On April 8th of next year, the “Great American Eclipse” will make headlines all over the globe. According to NASA, the path of that eclipse will first enter the U.S. in the state of Texas, and it will also travel through the states of “Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.” And as I have explained previously, “the Great American Eclipse” will occur on the very first day of the year on the Hebrew calendar. Many people out there believe that is quite significant. If you put the paths of these two eclipses on a map, you will notice that they intersect right over the state of Texas. In fact, the exact intersection of these two eclipses just happens to fall directly over “The Empty Cross”. In the Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden in Kerrville, Texas, there is a seven-story sculpture known as “The Empty Cross”, and that sculpture can be seen by vast numbers of people as they travel on Interstate 10… The 77′ 7″ hollow cross sculpture at this site has been seen by millions of people traveling on Interstate 10, connecting California and Florida. Countless others have learned about this unique spiritual art garden through various media channels. Remarkably, the paths of the Oct. 14, 2023, Annular Solar Eclipse and the April 8, 2024, Total Solar Eclipse converge deliberately. Many believe this convergence, forming a colossal cross in the sky directly above “The Empty Cross,” is not a random occurrence but a divine sign—a message from the Creator Himself. This sculpture is impossible to miss, because it is absolutely massive. This unique contemporary sculpture was installed on top of a 1930’ hilltop above IH-10 on July 27, 2010. “The Empty Cross”™ is believed to be the most symbolic cross sculpture in the world because of its Biblical symbolism. The massive open hollow cross symbolizes the Resurrection, the Door, the Narrow Gate, the Strong Tower, the Mighty Fortress, and the Light of the World, who is Jesus Christ. God sees mankind through the cross while mankind can only see the true God by looking at the cross. Is it just a coincidence that the path of the solar eclipse on October 14th and the path of the solar eclipse on April 8th will intersect directly over this sculpture? Of course there are a lot of bad things that are happening in Texas too. For example, the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas just celebrated a “Drag Sunday” during which the church “held a service to bestow blessings upon the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence”… The Cathedral of Hope, the world’s largest LGBTQ-friendly church, hosted a “Drag Sunday” service honoring the satanic Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. While the churches argue that their actions are a step towards inclusivity, many conservatives see this as a blatant disregard for the sanctity of religious spaces and the teachings of the Bible. The Cathedral of Hope in Dallas is a liberal Christian church that is part of the United Church of Christ (UCC). The UCC is a socially liberal Protestant Christian denomination with roots in the Congregational, Continental Reformed, and Lutheran traditions. On Sunday morning, the Cathedral of Hope held a service to bestow blessings upon the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group of queer and trans nuns known for their blasphemous acts mocking Catholicism. Ultimately, I don’t know what all of this means. Could it be possible that someone is trying to get our attention? There are other eclipses that are coming in 2024, 2025 and 2026, and I believe that they are noteworthy as well. I am going to do some more research, and this is something that I plan to discuss in future articles. So stay tuned, because lots of really weird stuff is starting to happen in the skies above. It’s hard, isn’t it? Especially in a world that’s full of pain, confusion, and unanswered questions. But one day, you won’t have to imagine it, because that world is coming. Over and over again, the Bible speaks of the coming millennium, a time of righteousness when Jesus Himself will rule the earth for a thousand years. Why do we need a millennium? Why bother with a thousand years on earth instead of just going directly to the eternal state of the new heaven and new earth? One reason is that the millennium is needed to fulfill the promises God made to Israel about an earthly kingdom (see 2 Samuel 7:16; Psalm 89:3-4). Another reason is that the millennium will reveal the depths of man’s sinful, rebellious nature. Revelation 20 tells us that Satan will be removed during this time, bound in a temporary place of incarceration (see Rev. 20:1-3). But even though he’ll be out of the picture, some people will still choose to rebel against the Messiah and His reign. And when Satan is released, he will gather all those people for one final rebellion. It will all go to show that man has a corrupt nature. But the millennium is also needed to redeem creation from the curse of Genesis 3 and from the judgment God will level against the world during the tribulation period. Basically, God will renovate the earth and restore its beauty. According to Scripture, the animal kingdom will be tamed (see Isaiah 11:6-8). The terrain will be restored, and the entire biosphere of the earth will be lush (see Isaiah 35:1-2, 6-7). Disabilities will be healed (see Isaiah 35:5-6), and there will be increased longevity and health (see Isaiah 65:20). On top of all that, there will be worldwide peace (see Isaiah 2:4). Paradise will be regained. The millennium will be God’s answer to all the prayers of all the saints throughout the centuries: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). To be able to look forward to a kingdom age that will last a thousand years is an incredible hope you have as a believer in Christ. But it doesn’t give you permission to check out. This knowledge of the coming millennium should motivate you to be watchful in the way you live right now. Keep in mind that man may rule presently, but not ultimately. So invest in the eternal kingdom that’s coming. As Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). In other words, invest in things that matter to God. Pursuing a life under the dominion of King Jesus means staying involved in this world while also living for the next one. The Democrats and some Republicans are going after the golden ring of the Jan 6 “rebellion,” their alleged ringmaster President Donald Trump. Americans have witnessed how the Democrat-led trials have withheld video footage, edited footage, selected testimony and created their narrative about the threat these protesters posed to their form of democracy. But the question still remains: Who was responsible? What is the truth? A very calm Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was in her Capitol Hill office on January 6, 2021 observing President Donald Trump’s speech and watching protesters gather by the capitol. Her daughter Alexandra was filming her. We know this because the video aired for the first time October 13 on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360. Pelosi, wearing a COVID mask is seen saying: “It’s very dangerous what he’s doing. He’s getting all these people to show up and protest “stop the steal.” He’s putting all these crazy ideas in their heads…Tell him if he comes here, we’re going to the White House (laughing)…” Two staffers in masks report to Pelosi that Secret Service dissuaded Trump from coming to the Capitol. Then she drops a bombshell. Pelosi pulls down her mask and gets very animated with her eyes looking straight ahead and her fingers pointing while she says, “I hope he comes. I want to punch him out. We’re waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I want to punch him out, and I’m going to go to jail, and I’m going to be happy.” Many people have overlooked the part where she says, “We’re waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds.” What did “waiting for this” mean? Pelosi and her Democrat colleagues refused National Guard protection knowing that there was a possibility of riots. There have been reports of FBI instigators in the crowds. The FBI has been accused of many actions against President Trump. So what did Pelosi really mean when she said “We’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on Capitol grounds?” On Sunday’s NBC Meet The Press correspondent Kristen Welker was persistent in trying to get Trump to take responsibility for the riots. Trump deflected her questions and said that Pelosi was to blame for Jan 6. Trump stated emphatically: “Nancy Pelosi was in charge of security and turned down 10,000 soldiers, if she didn’t turn down the soldiers, you wouldn’t have January 6.” He reminded Welker that Pelosi turned down the offer of National Guard troops through a letter by the DC mayor. Trump concluded: “Nancy Pelosi is responsible. And the J6 Committee refused to interview her.” Communist-style show trials continue about Jan 6. Proverbs 12:22 says, “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord.” There is a lot more to the Jan 6 debacle than meets the eye or fills the ear. Two sides, opposite stories. May truth prevail. They know that things aren’t the way they ought to be, and they want to get things right. But the irony is that some people, in their attempts to clean up their lives, end up in a worse state than where they began. Jesus talked about how we can make lasting changes in our lives as we undertake a thorough housecleaning. He was speaking to the Pharisees, who were the religious, moral, and outwardly upright people of the day. Yet Jesus had warned this group about committing the unpardonable sin, which was blaspheming the Holy Spirit. He said this because they had attributed the works of God that He was doing to the devil. Specifically, they accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of the devil. So He warned them of going too far and actually blaspheming the Holy Spirit. He was saying that knowledge brings responsibility. Jesus went on to explain, “When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order. Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation” (Matthew 12:43–45 NLT). Jesus was referring to demonic powers in this passage. Demons are both real and powerful. And in this passage, it appears that the person who once was possessed by this unclean spirit had a housecleaning. Things were put in order to some degree. It would appear the person had made some kind of moral change. To understand this in context, we must remember that Jesus was speaking to moral, religious people who didn’t really know God. Jesus was comparing the human life and heart to a house. And He was saying that morality won’t save us. Religion won’t save us. Jesus was giving us a picture of those who make moral changes in their lives but don’t get to the root of their problem, which is the absence of God in their lives. The sins they commit are but symptoms of a deeper problem: the lack of Jesus Christ living inside them. People will make changes in their lives for many reasons. Sometimes when they face a crisis, they begin to evaluate their priorities and take stock of their lives. They determine what needs to change. But often the same people end up going back to their old ways. Why? Because the house is swept and put in order, but it’s still empty. We must not lose sight of the basic truth that morality, in itself, will not bring a right relationship with God. Morality never will bring spirituality. But true spirituality always will bring morality.
